नागपूर :अमिताभ बच्चन को नागपुर की बाल कार्टूनिस्ट शचि सुनील आमरकर के बनाए कार्टून काफी पसंद आए। उन्होंने शचि का भविष्य का कलाकार बताते हुए उसकी प्रशंसा की।
हाल ही में विदर्भ कार्टून एसोसिएशन द्वारा सेंट जाॅन हाईस्कूल में अमिताभ बच्चन पर आधारित कार्टून और कैरीकेचर की प्रदर्शनी में शचि अपने बनाए कार्टून के साथ पहुंची थी। सोशल एक्टिव प्रोग्रेस कमिटी नागपुर के प्रमुख रघुवीर देवगडे ने शचि का परिचय बिग बी से कराया।
शचि टाटा पारसी स्कूल में कक्षा छठीं की छात्रा है। प्रदर्शनी में देश विदेश के 50 कार्टूनिस्टों की 150 से ज्यादा कार्टून और केरिकेचर प्रदर्शित की गई। अमिताभ ने इस प्रदर्शनी को काफी उत्सुकता के साथ देखा और कलाकारों का हौसला भी बढ़ाया। खासकर नन्ही कलाकार का।
नागपूर : पैशाच्या वादातून पाच आरोपींनी एका युवकावर सळाख व लाकडी दंड्याने मारहाण करून गंभीर जखमी केले. ही घटना कळमना पोलिस ठाण्याच्या हद्दीत उघडकीस आली. मनोज रामाधर लिल्हारे (30, रा. बजरंग चौक, डिप्टी सिग्नल) असे जखमीचे नाव आहे.
प्राप्त माहितीनुसार, पिंटू लखन सेलोकर (30, रा. डिप्टी सिग्नल) आणि जखमी मनोज लिल्हारे दोघेही एकमेकांचे नातेवाईक आहेत. एक वर्षापूर्वी मनोज लिल्हारे यांनी पिंटू सेलोकरला घराचे बांधकाम करून दिले. यात 50 हजार रुपये बांधकामाचे पिंटूकडून घेणे असल्याने मनोज यांनी पिंटूला पैशाची मागणी केली होती. गोपालनगर, एनआयटी क्वॉर्टरजवळ येथे त्यांनी पुन्हा पैशाची मागणी करता आरोपी पिंटू सेलोकरने चौघेही भाऊ असलेले साथीदार यांना फोन करून घटनास्थळी बोलाविले. त्यामुळे आरोपी विष्णू दयाराम बनपेला (45), शिव दयाराम बनपेला (40), शिवनाथ दयाराम बनपेला आणि गणेश दयाराम बनपेला (35) सर्व रा. डिप्टी सिग्नल, कळमना हे तत्काळ घटनास्थळी आले. त्यांनी पिंटूच्या सांगण्यावरून मनोजच्या डाव्या पायावर पाठीवर मारून गंभीर जखमी केले. या प्रकरणी मनोज लिल्हारे यांनी दिलेल्या तक्रारीवरून कळमना पोलिसांनी गुन्हे दाखल करून पिंटू सेलोकर याला अटक केली आहे.
नागपुर : कुसुमताई वानखेड़े सभागृह में रविवार को नागपुर गार्डेन क्लब की ओर से 109 वां फ्लावर शो का आयोजन किया गया।
इसके साथ ही 42 वां कैक्टी व सकलेंट शो और 34 वां डालिया ग्लैडिलोई शो का भी आयोजन किया गया। शो का आयोजन क्लब की पूर्व अध्यक्ष लीला सुभेदार की स्मृति में किया गया था।
शो में विभिन्न वर्ग जैसे डालिया, ग्लैडिलाई, कैक्टी, गुलाब के लिए प्रतियोगिता भी आयोजित की गई। फ्लावर अरेजमेंट और डेकारेशन की भी प्रतियोगिताएं हुईं। शो का उद्घाटन एससीजेडसीसी के निदेशक डॉ दीपक खिरवाडकर ने किया।
Nagpur: Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) Chief Ashok Chavan has urged party workers to defeat Bharatiya Janata Party in Lok Sabha (LS) and Maharashtra elections to dethrone governments at Centre and State.
He accused BJP of be-fooling people by making tall and misleading promises. The party virtually launched its election campaign for Lok Sabha in Nagpur on Sunday while blasting the ruling dispensation for its abject failure to provide succour to common citizens.

नागपूर : महामेट्रोचे धावणार माझी मेट्रो अभियान सुरू असून, मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांनी या अभियानाचे कौतुक केले. त्यांनी ‘विश वॉल’वर ‘लवकरच नागपूरकर मेट्रोने प्रवास करतील’ असे लिहून लिखित ग्वाहीच शहरवासींना दिली.
झिरो माईल येथील माहिती केंद्र, लिटिल वूड, मेट्रो हाऊस यासह विविध ठिकाणी महामेट्रोतर्फे ‘विश वॉल’ लावण्यात आली. इतकेच नव्हे तर शहरात येणारे कलाकारदेखील या माहिती केंद्रात येऊन ‘विश वॉल’वर लिहून मेट्रो प्रकल्पाला शुभेच्छा देत आहेत. ‘विश वॉल’ अभियानात कुठल्याही भाषेचे बंधन नाही. नागरिक आपल्या शब्दात मेट्रो प्रकल्पाला शुभेच्छा देत आहेत. यात लहान मुलांसह, तरुणांचा, महिलांचा आणि ज्येष्ठ नागरिक सहभाग नोंदवत आहेत.

In a startling revelation, ace Indian filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani has been accused of sexual assault against a co-worker who worked with him on his 2017 hit film ‘Sanju’.
Addressing the matter, Hirani has come forth categorically denying the allegations. His lawyer Anand Desai termed the accusations as “false, mischievous, scandalous, motivated and defamatory.”
The allegations were made through an email addressed to producer and a regular collaborator of Hirani, Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
Film critic Anupama Chopra, screenwriter Abhijat Joshi and Vidhu Vinod’s sister Shelly Chopra were also marked in the email dated November 3, 2018, the publication reports.
The woman said Hirani first made a sexually suggestive remark on April 9, 2018 and then assaulted her.
“I remember forming these words on my lips – “Sir. This is wrong…Because of this power structure. You being the absolute power and me being a mere assistant, a nobody – I will never be able to express myself to you,” the email reads.
“My mind, body and heart were grossly violated that night and for the next 6 months.”
Rajkumar Hirani has responded to the allegations. In a statement, the filmmaker said, “I was completely shocked when these allegations were brought to my notice about two months back. I had suggested immediately that it is essential to take this matter to any committee or legal body. The complainant has chosen to go to the media instead. I want to very strongly state that this is a false malicious and mischievous story being spread with the sole intention of destroying my reputation.”
Until further investigation the making of Hirani’s upcoming film ‘Munna Bhai MBBS 3’ has been stalled.
नागपूर : पाचपावलीतील कुख्यात गुंड मध्यवर्ती कारागृहातून सुटताच तीन आरोपींनी त्याचा दगडाने ठेचून ‘गेम’ केला. या हत्याकांडानंतर पाचपावली पोलिसांनी आठ तासात आरोपींना अटक केली. पांड्या ऊर्फ गौरव पिल्लेवान (वय ३०, रा. लष्करीबाग) असे खून झालेल्या गुंडाचे नाव आहे. हत्याकांडात तीन आरोपींना अटक केली असून त्यांना पाच दिवस पोलिस कोठडीत ठेवण्याचे आदेश दिले.
पोलिसांनी दिलेल्या माहितीनुसार, लष्करीबाग येथील रहिवासी असलेल्या पांड्याने पंधरा दिवसापूर्वीच योगीराज धनविजय (३५,राणी दुर्गावती चौक), विशाल उर्फ चिंटू विश्वकर्मा (३८,नया नकाशा) तसेच गोलू अंकुश मंडाले (२१, लष्करीबाग) आणि त्याच्या सहकाऱ्यांशी वाद घातला होता. शुक्रवारी रात्री ११.३० वाजताच्या सुमारास पांड्या शनिचरा बाजारातील पुराना कॅरम क्लबजवळ आला. त्याठिकाणी उभ्या असलेल्या ऑटोचालकांशी वाद घालू लागला. पांड्याच्या रोजच्या प्रकारामुळे त्रस्त झालेल्या योगीराज, गोलू, विशाल आणि त्याच्या काही सहकाऱ्यांनी पांड्याला दगड आणि चाकूने भोसकून रक्तबंबाळ केले व पळ काढला. पोलिसांनी या घटनेतील इतर पाचही आरोपींना अटक केली. या प्रकरणी फिर्यादी मनिष बाबूराव पिल्लेवान (३३) च्या तक्रारीवरून गुन्हा दाखल करून तपास सुरू केला आहे.
आरोपी पोहचला ठाण्यात
खून केल्यानंतर सर्व आरोपी पळून गेले. तर योगीराज धनविजय हा रक्ताने माखलेल्या कपड्यासह पाचपावली पोलिस ठाण्यात पोहचला. त्यांने पांड्याचा खून करून आल्याची कबुली पोलिसांना दिली. त्यानंतर पोलिसांनी त्याला लगेच ताब्यात घेतले. त्याच्या माहितीवरून अन्य दोन आरोपी विशाल आणि गोलू यांनाही पोलिसांनी अटक केली.
NAGPUR : A 16-year-old boy left his house after his father scolded him for flying kites. He was found on Saturday near Ganeshpeth bus stand.
The Std XI student was scolded by his father when he was flying kite near his house at NIT Layout, New Mhalgi Nagar, on Saturday afternoon. The boy left the house in a fit of rage. His father along with other relatives started searching for him, but he was nowhere to be found. The father then approached Hudkeshwar police station where a case of kidnapping was registered as per directions of Supreme Court in cases related to missing minors.
Police and relatives of the boy continued to search for him. The boy was finally found by the family at the bus stand.

Nagpur : With MahaMetro expecting trains to run on Sitabuldi-Khapri and Sitabuldi-Hingna Road stretches in March, it has started the process of providing last mile connectivity to commuters.The agency has floated bids to tie up with e-cars, e-scooters, e-rickshaws and bicycles to be operated on sharing basis. MahaMetro wants only electric vehicles as its aim is to provide pollution free mode of transport.
The Metro agency is holding talks with private bus operators for its feeder bus service. “When preliminary talks are over we will float bids for feeder buses too,” said a source in MahaMetro.
The number of parking slots and vehicles will be decided by the Metro agency. As per the draft MoU, MahaMetro may provide assistance to identify publicly accessible spaces designated for parking of bicycles, bikes, scooters at Metro stations.
The source said that the private operator would have to provide the vehicles and would be allowed to collect fare from users as per rates decided by MahaMetro. “It will have to maintain the vehicles, pay for parking space to MahaMetro and electricity bill for charging the vehicles,” he added.
The MoU shall be in force for 18 months and MahaMetro may extend it if the services of the operator are satisfactory.
NAGPUR : The state information commission (SIC) has issued a show-cause notice to Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR) for not supplying information under the RTI Act on details about eco-sensitive zone (ESZ).
The notice has been served under Section 20 (1) of the RTI Act asking as to why a penalty of Rs250 per day should not be charged for delaying information to city-based activist Avinash Prabhune.
In its order issued on January 5, 2019, state information commissioner Dilip Dharurkar has asked the TATR public information officer (PIO) to supply all details to Prabhune within 15 days from the date of order. The The case also exposes how RTI Act is being violated by forest officials.
TATR’s ESZ proposal was among the first to be sent for notification of ESZ in 2014. During the period eco-zones of at least 27 protected areas (PAs) in the state have been notified but TATR has not been notified even now.
In April 10, 2015, the MoEFCC had issued a draft notification of ESZ of over 1,103 sqkm including 118 villages, but a final notification has still not been issued for reasons best known to TATR management and government.
Even as ESZ notification was pending, the state’s urban development department (UDD) issued a notification on September 20, 2017 by passing ESZ guidelines and allowed construction activity within 5km from the boundary of the parks in the state.
Smelling something fishy about Tadoba, where many resorts are coming up close to the park, Prabhune filed first RTI application on December 11, 2017 demanding information on 9 queries including minutes of meetings of wildlife wing officias and MoEFCC.
NGOs alleged the ESZ proposal was allegedly stopped to serve eesort lobby interest. “If the proposal is not final, the forest department should have supplied compliance reports from time to time. It raises suspicion why TATR ESZ proposal only has been kept pending?” asked environmentalist Suresh Chopne of NGO Green Planet, Chandrapur.

The veteran actor on Saturday shared a heartfelt note on completing the shoot of ‘Sairat’ director Nagraj Manjule’s debut Hindi film, ‘Jhund’. “..endings are they that leave with a feeling of uncertain next .. .. there is a joy of completion .. there is the symptom of withdrawal .. there is the desire to slip away quietly .. but it never does happen that way, does it .. ?” he wrote in his blog.
Speaking of ‘Jhund’, it is being directed by Nagraj Manjule and is reportedly based on the life of Vijay Barse, who is the founder of ‘Slum Soccers’. Amitabh essays the role of a professor who channelises the street children to build a soccer team. The film is being produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, Savita Raj Hiremath, Manjule under the banner of T-Series Films, Taandav Films Entertainment Ltd, and Aatpat.
The film is reportedly based on the life of Vijay Barse, the founder of Slum Soccer in Nagpur.
The megastar, while announcing the wrap up of the film, also revealed that he will soon begin filming the next schedule of ‘Brahmastra’ – the first part of Ayan Mukerji’s fantasy trilogy – which also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.
Apart from ‘Jhund’ and ‘Brahmastra’, the 76-year-old will be seen in Sujoy Ghosh’s ‘Badla’, a remake of the 2016 Spanish thriller film ‘Contratiempo’. The film also stars Taapsee Pannu. Big B was last seen in Vijay Acharya’s ‘Thugs Of Hindostan’, which failed both critically and commercially.
नागपूर : राज्य पोलिस दलातील ३१व्या राज्यस्तरीय पोलिस क्रीडा स्पर्धेला रविवार १३ जानेवारीपासून नागपूर पोलिस आयुक्तालयाच्या यजमानपदाखाली सुरुवात होणार आहे. सुमारे तीन हजार खेळाडूंचा समावेश असलेल्या या स्पर्धांमध्ये राज्य व राष्ट्रीय पातळीवर पोलिस विभागाचे प्रतिनिधीत्व करणारे पोलिस दलात कार्यरत खेळाडू त्यांच्या खेळाचे प्रदर्शन करणार आहे. पुरुष विभागातील खेळाडूंसाठी १६, तर महिला विभागात १२ क्रीडा प्रकार होणार आहे.

Awareness towards recycling of e-Waste is being encouraged through free entry against bringing and depositing any e-Waste at Comp-Ex. People bringing in large volumes of e-Waste would get paid for the same at Rs 15 per kg. Nagpur : Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) has given 23.30 acre of its land to the State Government for development of a huge amphitheatre. The land is worth more than Rs 300 crore.
The portion of the land in the post-graduate teaching campus on Amravati Road, which was under encroachment for a long period, has been given with the university retaining its ownership rights.
The Management Council of the University granted permission to hand over the land to the government, in its meeting held on Thursday and Friday.
A detailed discussion on the issue was held in the meeting. Some members suggested that the University should demand some money in lieu of the land.
The proposed amphitheatre will have two auditoriums and huge space for parking. The parking space will be available to those visiting the theatre complex and also to the University staff.
Even if the land is being handed over to the government (PWD) for the construction work, the ownership of the land will remain with the University. The theatre will be available to the University free of cost for its official programmes. With the development of the theatre, the university convocations can be held there.
Out of the total 23.30 acre, 15 acre of the land was earlier agreed for construction and beautification purpose. Additional land was later demanded and is being given in view of the possible parking problem. Maintenance of the proposed building and the premises will be the responsibility of the government.
The terms based on which final Memorandum of Understanding is to be signed, were discussed during the meeting of the Management Council.
Nagpur : Screening of a short documentary ‘Machhli- The World’s Most Famous Tiger’ directed and filmed by Subbiah Nalla Muthu attracted a huge audience gathered at Reshimbagh ground on Friday evening. The screening was organised by Asiatic Big Cat Society.
The film screened the life span of a legendary tigress named ‘Machhli’ of Ranthambore. It was filmed over the period of nine years from her prime to her death by renowned wildlife film maker Muthu.
It explained the incredible stories behind Machhli’s rise to power, her heartbreaking descent and the legacy she left behind. She taught us a valuable lesson that protecting one tiger can create a forest.
Muthu captured exclusive footage of never before filmed sequences such as male and female tiger living companionably in their old age and the final moments leading up to the natural death of a tiger in the wild.
Similarly, Krishna (Machhli’s daughter) faces unusual challenges while raising her family of four cubs. Krishna loses one of her young cubs while shifting them to a safer den. These moments perfectly captured by the film maker and his hard work is clearly visible in the documentary.
Mayor Nanda Jichkar was the chief guest of the screening and she also honoured the director Muthu for his work. N Rambabu, MD, FDCM; Dr Girish Gandhi, Kishor Kedia, Pragati Patil, Prashant Vaidya and others were present as guests during the event.

नागपुर : पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री डॉ. मनमोहन सिंह के राजनीतिक जीवन पर आधारित फिल्म ‘एक्सीडेंटल प्राइम मिनिस्टर’ को लेकर विविध स्थानों पर विवाद की स्थिति बनी है। फिलहाल शहर में कोई विवाद नहीं है। भाजपा के नेता फिल्म को लेकर विवाद को निराधार कह रहे हैं, वहीं कांग्रेस के नेता मौन हैं। इस बीच संघ व भाजपा के नेताओं ने फिल्म का विशेष शो भी देखा।
भाजपा के शहर अध्यक्ष सुधाकर कोहले ने कहा है कि फिल्म में आक्षेप लायक कोई बात नहीं है। केवल तत्कालीन परिस्थितियों को दर्शाया गया है। दूसरी ओर युवक कांग्रेस के अखिल भारतीय सचिव बंटी शेलके ने कहा है कि नागपुर में यह मामला फिलहाल राजनीति का विषय नहीं है।
छवि खराब करने का आरोप गौरतलब है कि डॉ. मनमोहन सिंह की राजनीति पर ‘एक्सीडेंटल प्राइम मिनिस्टर’ फिल्म का निर्माण किया गया है। डॉ. सिंह के प्रधानमंत्री कार्यकाल में मीडिया सलाहकार रहे संजय बारू की पुस्तक पर आधारित इस फिल्म में कांग्रेस, सोनिया गांधी, राहुल गांधी व अन्य कुछ नेताओं की तत्कालीन भूमिका का भी खुलकर प्रदर्शन किया गया है। रिलीज होने के पहले ही इस फिल्म का विरोध करनेवाले कांग्रेस के नेताओं का कहना है कि चुनाव आते ही कांग्रेस की छवि खराब करने के लिए भाजपा के सहयोग से यह फिल्म सामने लाई जा गई है।

In another major shocker for Gurmeet Ram Rahim, the CBI special court in Panchkula today convicted him along with three others in the journalist Ram Chander Chhatarpati murder case. The court will pronounce in judgement on January 17.
Currently, the sect hed is serving a 20-year old-jail term in Sunaria jail in Rohtak after being convicted of raping his two women followers. The 51-yea old has been named as the key conspiracy for the murder of Chhatarpati in the case which goes back to 2002.
The journalist was shot at in October 2002 after his newspaper, ‘Poora Sach’, published a letter narrating how women were being sexually harassed by Gurmeet Ram Rahim at the Dera headquarters in Sirsa.
Chhatarpati later succumbed to injuries. The case was registered in 2003, which was later handed over to the CBI in 2006.
Earlier, security had been beefed up in Haryana as well as parts of Punjab before the verdict on Friday in the journalist murder case. Proper arrangements were made in Panchkula, Sirsa and Rohtak districts of Haryana with state police, anti-riot police and commando force being deployed to deal with an unruly situation.
Security was also tightened up outside the Panchkula court complex with Haryana police placing barricades on roads leading to the court, a police official told PTI. He also added that district police chiefs were asked not to permit any unnecessary gathering.

Soon after its release, netizens took to social media to express their views about the trailer. Many also took the opportunity to come up with hilarious memes and jokes. Joining in the fun online, Mumbai and Nagpur police came up with a message about road safety.
As Alia Bhatt’s dialogue “Mar jayega tu (You will die)” became the fodder for meme-makers online, the cops used the line to make an important point about road safety. “When he argues to ride a motorcycle without wearing helmet,” they tweeted. NEW DELHI : The triple talaq ordinance, which seeks to make the practice of instant divorce a penal offence, will lapse later this month as a bill to convert it into a law is stuck in the Rajya Sabha. Sources in the government said the ordinance is set to be re-issued, but its timing is yet to be decided.
An ordinance has a life of six months. But from the day a session begins, it has to be replaced by a bill which should be passed by parliament within 42 days (six weeks), else it lapses.The government is at liberty to re-promulgate the ordinance if the bill fails to get through parliament.
The ordinance will lapse on January 22, the 42nd day after the Winter Session began on December 11 last year, the sources pointed out.
“The ordinance lapses just a week before the Budget Session commences on January 31…government will push for the bill in the session. But whether the ordinance be re-promulgated soon after it expires is yet to be decided. Another option would be to wait till the end of the Budget Session in mid-February. If the bill is not passed, the ordinance could be re-issued then,” a senior functionary explained.
A fresh bill to make the practice of triple talaq among Muslims a penal offence was introduced in the Lok Sabha on December 17 last year to replace an ordinance issued in September.The lower house later gave its nod to the bill. But it faced stiff opposition when it was tabled for consideration. It is now pending its approval.
Under the proposed law, giving instant triple talaq (talaq-e-biddat) will be illegal and void and will attract a jail term of three years for the husband. The fresh bill superseded an earlier bill passed in the Lok Sabha and is pending in the Rajya Sabha.
The earlier bill was approved by the lower house. But amid opposition by some parties in the upper house, the government had then cleared some amendments, including introduction of a provision of bail, to make it more acceptable.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Thursday announced the schedule for the upcoming limited-overs series between India and Australia, starting next month. The series will be played from February 24 to March 13.
Australia’s tour will begin with two T20I matches, which will be played in Bengaluru and Visakhapatnam. These will be followed by the five-match ODI series to be hosted in Hyderabad, Nagpur, Ranchi, Mohali and Delhi. The T20Is that will start at 7 pm IST, while the five ODIs will be day-night affairs, starting at 1.30 pm IST.
The five ODIs will be India’s final preparation ahead of the 2019 World Cup, which begins on May 30. The home series against Australia will be played right before the Indian Premier League, which would begin in the second half of March.

प्रभाग ३३ मध्ये महिलांनी नगरसेवकांवर नाराजी व्यक्त केला. महापौरांचा दौरा आहे म्हणून महापालिकेला जाग आली अन्यथा नगरसेवक व अधिकारी येऊन पाहत नाही, अशा तक्रारी महिलांनी महापौरांकडे केली. धंतोली झोनअंतर्गत गणेशपेठ समाज भवन, राजाबाक्षा, रामबाग, कुकडे लेआउट, चंद्रमणीनगर, बालाजीनगर, त्रिशरण चौक, अरविंद-उज्ज्वल-विजयानंद सोसायटी आदी ठिकाणी महापौरांनी भेट दिली. तेथे त्यांना लोकनाराजीचा सामना करावा लागला.
चंद्रमणीनगर परिसरात अनेक ठिकाणी गडर लाईन फुटली आहे. नळाचे पाणीही दूषित असून सफाई कर्मचारी नियमित येत नसल्याची तक्रार करत नगरसेवक फिरकत नसल्याचे त्यांनी सांगितले. प्रभाग ३३ मध्ये भाजपचे नगरसेवक असले तरी अस्वच्छतेचा कळस होता. आम्हाला मतदान केले नाही तर कामे कशी करणार, अशी भाषा नगरसेवक बोलतात अशी तक्रार महिलांनी केली.
महापालिकेच्या जाटतरोडी हिंदी प्राथमिक शाळेमध्ये भेट दिली. यावेळी शाळेच्या मुख्याध्यापिका उर्मिला पाटील हजर नव्हत्या. त्यांना कारणे दाखवा नोटीस बजावण्याचे निर्देश महापौरांनी दिले. कुकडे लेआऊट परिसरात साचलेल्या कचऱ्यामुळे नागरिकांना त्रास सहन करावा लागतो. सम्राट अशोक वाचनालयाच्या शेजारी रस्त्यावर कचरा टाकला जातो. महापौर येणार असल्यामुळे सकाळी तेथील कचरा उचलण्यात आला. चंद्रमणीनगरजवळ असलेल्या महापालिकेच्या मैदानात तेथील एका नागरिकाने गाईचा गोठा तयार केला. या नागरिकांची परिसरात दहशत असल्यामुळे परिसरातील नागरिक बोलू शकत नाही. त्यामुळे मैदान मोकळे करावे, अशी मागणी नागरिकांनी केली.
NAGPUR: Maharashtra, with 17 cities, tops the environment ministry’s list of 102 non- attainment cities where pollution levels are not meeting the set standards.The National Clean Air Programme, which was launched by the ministry on Thursday, states these cities have to mandatorily submit city specific action plans to combat air pollution. Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data reveals that nitrogen dioxide levels were dangerously high in Pune, Badlapur and Ulhasnagar. In Vidarbha, Nagpur, Akola, Amravati and Chandrapur are the most polluting cities.
In August last year, despite having the highest number of polluted cities, the state had no mitigation plan. Details obtained by Greenpeace India under RTI revealed that action plans for all 17 cities were ‘missing’.
CPCB’s records show that though Mumbai, Pune, Amravati, Aurangabad, Jalna, Kolhapur and Laturhad submitted their plans, they were rejected and asked to re-submit. The 17 cities are Akola, Amravati, Aurangabad, Badlapur, Chandrapur, Jalgaon, Jalna, Kolhapur, Latur, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Nashik, Navi Mumbai, Sangli, Solapur and Ulhasnagar.
