DharmYoddhaGarud gears up for the great samudramanthan as Garud approaches Vasuki for help

Sony SAB’s DharmYoddhaGarud has held the audience glued to the screen with its larger-than-life visuals and authentic storytelling. The Devtas resolve to join forces with the Asuras to obtain the unattainable nectar of youth, as directed by Lord Vishnu (Vishal Karwal). However, the ocean would need to be churned in order for the nectar to surface, and this was a task they couldn’t do alone, considering they were bereft of energy.  The preparation for the big historical event begins but the parties involved soon realize that this was a herculean task which would require the assistance of Mount Mandara and the Serpent King, Vasuki. In order to churn the ocean, Mount Mandara was to be used as a churning rod, but he was too heavy to lift. Upon the insistence of Narada, Garud (Faisal Khan) took up the challenge and while chanting Lord Vishnu’s name, he tried to lift the mountain. Soon, he realized they needed a churning rope and hence decided to go to Vasuki.

DharmYoddhaGarud gears up for the great samudramanthan as Garud approaches Vasuki for help
DharmYoddhaGarud gears up for the great samudramanthan as Garud approaches Vasuki for help

Vasuki is the eldest son of Kadru (Parul Chauhan), the queen of the serpents. Lord Vishnu asked Garud to approach his brother and ask for his immediate assistance. Due to Garud’s animosity toward the King of Serpents, this assignment was too much for Garud to bear. Nevertheless, along with Kadru, he flew towards Vasuki and even though he refused to see him eye to eye, Garud persuaded him to give him a chance and help serve the Gods in winning the crusade. Hence, Vasuki, the King of Snakes agreed to serve as a churning rope and to be bound around Mount Mandara. The Asuras demanded to hold the head of the Serpent while the Devtas agreed to hold the snake’s tail.

Will the Devtas and Asuras manage to churn the Ocean of Milk and attain the nectar of immortality?

Faisal Khan, who essays the role of Garud says,Garud possesses great might, yet unlike the Gods and Demons, he is not enamoured with himself. He worships Lord Vishnu and seeks his advice on a regular basis. Faith is what allows him to move mountains, and he will go above and beyond to assist the Devtas win the fight. I would encourage the audience to follow Garud on his journey and show lots of love on the show as the untold stories of Garud’s engagement in samudramanthan begin now.”

About 80-90% Patient remain Undiagnosed for life threatening disease called OSA

life threatening disease
About 80-90% Patient remain Undiagnosed for life threatening disease called OSA

Nagpur : Obstructive Sleep Apnea Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a sleep-related breathing disorder that involves a decrease or complete halt in airflow despite an ongoing effort to breathe. It occurs when the muscles relax during sleep, causing soft tissue in the back of the throat to collapse and block the upper airway. This leads to partial reductions (hypopneas) and complete pauses (apneas) in breathing that last at least 10 seconds during sleep. Most pauses last between 10 and 30 seconds, but some may persist for one minute or longer. This can lead to abrupt reductions in blood oxygen saturation, with oxygen levels falling as much as 40 percent or more in severe cases. The brain responds to the lack of oxygen by alerting the body, causing a brief arousal from sleep that restores normal breathing. This pattern can occur hundreds of times in one night.

The result is a fragmented quality of sleep that often produces an excessive level of daytime sleepiness. Most people with OSA snore loudly and frequently, with periods of silence when airflow is reduced or blocked. They then make choking, snorting or gasping sounds when their airway reopens. A common measurement of sleep apnea is the apnea-hypopnea index (AHI). This is an average that represents the combined number of apneas and hypopneas that occur per hour of sleep.

Dr Vivek Gupta,Pulmonologist, Sleep Medicine and Critical Care Consultant,Criticare Hospital & Research Institute,Nagpur said that,OSA can occur in any ager group, but prevalence increases between middle and older age.   About 24 percent of men and nine percent of women have the breathing symptoms of OSA with or without daytime sleepiness.  About 80 percent to 90 percent of adults with OSA remain undiagnosed.  OSA occurs in about two percent of children and is most common at preschool ages.

People who are overweight (Body Mass Index of 25 to 29.9) and obese (Body Mass Index of 30 and above) are more prone for OSA  . Men and women with large neck sizes: 17 inches or more for men, 16 inches or more for women and Children with large tonsils and adenoids , often have OSA.

Dr Vivek Gupta,Pulmonologist, Sleep Medicine and Critical Care Consultant,Criticare Hospital & Research Institute,Nagpur further added,OSA can lead to  Fluctuating oxygen levels, Increased heart rate , Chronic elevation in daytime blood pressure , Increased risk of stroke , Higher rate of death due to heart disease , Impaired glucose tolerance and insulin resistance , Impaired concentration and Mood changes and Increased risk of being involved in a deadly motor vehicle accident

Sleep apnea must first be diagnosed at a sleep center or lab during an overnight sleep study, or “polysomnogram.” The sleep study charts vital signs such as brain waves, heart beat and breathing.

Treatment options for OSA are

  1. Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP): CPAP is the standard treatment option for moderate to severe cases of OSA and a good option for mild sleep apnea. First introduced for the treatment of sleep apnea in 1981, CPAP provides a steady stream of pressurized air to patients through a mask that they wear during sleep. This airflow keeps the airway open, preventing pauses in breathing and restoring normal oxygen levels. Newer CPAP models are small, light and virtually silent. Patients can choose from numerous mask sizes and styles to achieve a good fit. Heated humidifiers that connect to CPAP units contribute to patient comfort.
  2. Oral appliances: An oral appliance is an effective treatment option for people with mild to moderate OSA who either prefer it to CPAP or are unable to successfully comply with CPAP therapy. Oral appliances look much like sports mouth guards, and they help maintain an open and unobstructed airway by repositioning or stabilizing the lower jaw, tongue, soft palate or uvula
  3. Surgery: Surgery is a treatment option for OSA when noninvasive treatments such as CPAP or oral appliances have been unsuccessful. It is most effective when there is an obvious anatomic deformity that can be corrected to alleviate the breathing problem.

4.Position Therapy: A treatment used for patients suffering from mild OSA. Patients are advised to stay off of the back while sleeping . This is called tennis ball therapy

India’s visit to England could be cancelled if COVID-19 was discovered in the Indian team. Virat Kohli is reported to have been positive for the Covid-19 virus together with several other players.

However the former India captain has completely recovered from the illness. However, the situation has caused the team’s practice test in the match against Leicestershire in a very difficult situation.

“Yes, Virat too was hit by Covid after returning from holidaying in the Maldives, but he’s recovered now,” according to sources. “This signifies that India’s tour match against Leicestershire on June 24 will not be as intensive that coach Rahul Dravid would have it be, because the medical advice for the team is not to overstretch the players who have suffered from Covid-19. There may be additional Covid cases within India’s squad,” The source also said.

In fear of the situation getting worse further in the event of a worsening situation, the BCCI made the decision to end the series with the 5th Test having been completed. In the 5th Test that had been delayed, will take place at Edgbaston on the 1st of July then a T20I, followed by An ODI series.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) treasurer, Arun Dhumal, has instructed the players to take every precaution they can, as the BCCI isn’t looking to repeat a scenario similar to the one that happened last time, causing the board to cancel the fifth and final test for the entire series.

“The Covid threat is reduced in the UK. However, players must be more cautious. We’ll be asking the team to be bit more cautious,” Said Arun Dhumal.

Although the BCCI has not officially confirmed any Covid-19-related cases within the Indian camp but the schedule for the series may be negatively affected if the virus does indeed have entered into the Indian camp.

NMC Determines Street Parking Zones Without Consulting Traffic Officers

Street Parking Zones
NMC Determines Street Parking Zones Without Consulting Traffic Officers

Nagpur: Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), which plans to create 75 pay-and-park zones in the city, is likely to be delayed because it didn’t involve traffic police when finalizing the parking zones. Recently, NMC approached DCP (traffic) to clarify the differences. “On May 23, NMC approached traffic police to request a notification declaring street parking in ten locations throughout the city. Sources say that the traffic police have yet to issue any notification. Comments were not possible from DCP (traffic), Sarang Awad.

Sources claim that Nagpur’s traffic police must conduct an in-depth study of its 10 traffic zones regarding the proposed street parking zones. This is in view of the growing vehicular traffic on city roads, and any infrastructure works such as the construction or expansion of Metro Rail routes, etc.

Sources claim that NMC neglected a key stakeholder, namely. traffic police. They stated that street parking zones were decided without considering traffic congestion, hawking zones and infrastructure issues like flyover constructions, etc.

Traffic cops stated that most of the NMC parking areas were located on busy roads, and therefore, they are not possible. Traffic would suffer if parking was allowed on busy roads.
Senior traffic police inspectors pointed out that “many of the 10 zones are already narrowed due to infrastructure works such as flyovers or Metro Rail.”

Traffic cops cited an example: They said that the area between Telephone Exchange Square and Chhapru Nagar Square, and Dhantoli zone Square to Congress NagarT-point, had already been compressed by Metro pillars. They pointed out that allowing pay-and-park will further reduce the road’s width.

Flyovers are being considered, but it is not possible to extend the stretch from Indora Square to Kamal Chowk or Bole Petrol Pump square and Law College Square. Traffic cops in the city pointed out that flyovers would reduce the number of roads.
Traffic activists stated that “Declaring them parking zones will cause more congestion.”

Less CBSE Students Are Able To Apply In The State Board Std XI This Year

Less CBSE Students Are Able To Apply In The State Board Std XI This Year

Nagpur: As junior college admission season begins for state board-affiliated colleges in Maharashtra, this academic season may see fewer admissions of students coming from CBSE board. As of June 18, only 980 CBSE students had registered for the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) as compared to over 10,000 from SSC (state board). A college principal said, “Our SSC results are out and the second phase of admission process will start soon. While filling the online registration form is the first phase, the real action is in the second half when you choose your preferred colleges and opt for streams.” CBSE students can’t do that, said another principal, “because their results have not been declared yet”. The principal added, “By the time these results are declared, our SSC students would have already taken the best pickings. It’s a lost cause for them (CBSE students), frankly.”

A few more academics from the state board, who said they were “pleased” that a unique disparity has arisen this year regarding results date. “State board junior colleges should always give preference to our SSC students. But CBSE students, due to their liberal marking scheme, score much more and usually grab seats in all important colleges and streams,” said a principal. She added, “Thankfully, this year our state government conducted exams on schedule and declared results on time. So our kids are ready to complete admission formalities and may even start classes before CBSE results are out.”

CBSE students shifting to state board in Nagpur is not uncommon. The thriving competitive exam coaching industry in Nagpur relies heavily on junior colleges giving leeway to their students when it comes to physical attendance in class. A principal said, “The term ‘tie-up’ is used when a coaching class and a junior college reach an agreement. The most obvious part of the agreement is ensuring that either all, or majority of their students will take admission in that college. So that’s guaranteed fees coming without any heavy lifting. The second part is that fake attendance of students is marked in that college, while they sit in coaching institutes.”

But now, with the delayed results, CBSE students, their coaching institutes and ‘tie-up’ junior colleges will have to rethink their strategy. Another principal said, “Now even CBSE schools have become lenient while marking attendance as money from coaching institutes rolls in. So that trend plus this year’s admission problem may see CBSE students staying put at their own institutes.”

Agnipath scheme. General V K Singh was in Nagpur to attend the Janakrosh program on Sunday.

The Agnipath program is encouraging the same. These (Agniveers) with the truly skilled will be able to remain within the army, and those who aren’t will have the chance to look into various fields and professions within 4 years, according to the General. The Minister stated that the Army has not been an employer of large scale. It is a completely voluntary force. Individuals join the army or other forces at their own discretion after satisfying certain conditions.

In a reference to his thoughts on the Emergency Commissioning Scheme of soldiers and officers in the war in 1961 General McClellan said “The personnel and officers who were commissioned into the Army during the war between India and China under the emergency program were successful. But, the government shut down the program in 1965 however, no one has opposed the decision. Following their departure the soldiers enrolled in various jobs in corporate and administrative services with their own merits.”

Within four years 75% of the Agniveers are able to join different professions based on their merits due to the training they receive in the military, according to General Singh. In light of the fact that there was no recruitment over the past two years because of COVID-19 The government has increased the age for recruitment as an Agniveer to 23 from 21 years. For those who have been training for the armed forces over the past two years may also submit an application for Agnipath scheme, according to the Minister.

In a discussion about the violence across the nation General Singh declared, “Chief Ministers of those states where violence is occurring are required to step up and work to end these incidents. Instead, they blame authorities at the Central Government for the Agnipath Scheme.”

“If the employees (Agniveers) are successful in their work, 25 percent of them will remain within the organization. Additionally, the remaining members will receive a lucrative financial reward too. States such as Haryana, Uttar Pradesh as and the home department have pledged that they will give priority to the troops,” he said.
