Virat Kohli Tests COVID Positive

Date:

India’s visit to England could be cancelled if COVID-19 was discovered in the Indian team. Virat Kohli is reported to have been positive for the Covid-19 virus together with several other players.

However the former India captain has completely recovered from the illness. However, the situation has caused the team’s practice test in the match against Leicestershire in a very difficult situation.

“Yes, Virat too was hit by Covid after returning from holidaying in the Maldives, but he’s recovered now,” according to sources. “This signifies that India’s tour match against Leicestershire on June 24 will not be as intensive that coach Rahul Dravid would have it be, because the medical advice for the team is not to overstretch the players who have suffered from Covid-19. There may be additional Covid cases within India’s squad,” The source also said.

In fear of the situation getting worse further in the event of a worsening situation, the BCCI made the decision to end the series with the 5th Test having been completed. In the 5th Test that had been delayed, will take place at Edgbaston on the 1st of July then a T20I, followed by An ODI series.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) treasurer, Arun Dhumal, has instructed the players to take every precaution they can, as the BCCI isn’t looking to repeat a scenario similar to the one that happened last time, causing the board to cancel the fifth and final test for the entire series.

“The Covid threat is reduced in the UK. However, players must be more cautious. We’ll be asking the team to be bit more cautious,” Said Arun Dhumal.

Although the BCCI has not officially confirmed any Covid-19-related cases within the Indian camp but the schedule for the series may be negatively affected if the virus does indeed have entered into the Indian camp.
