MSEDCL leads in e-vehicle charging station

Nagpur Electric vehicles are becoming more popular than the rising prices of petrol and diesel. Electric vehicles will make up 30% of all vehicles sold in India by the end of the decade. The increasing number of electric vehicles means that owners should have easy access to their charging systems. MSEDCL took initiative to set up electric vehicle charging stations in 13 locations in the State. It also proposed 2,375 stations in various locations throughout the State.

MSEDCL plans to install self-financing charging stations of electric vehicles in its extra sub-station space at five stations in Thane and two in Navi Mumbai. MSEDCL has also begun work on 49 additional electric vehicle charging stations. These stations include Nagpur-6 and 10 in Navi Mumbai.

The State Government also approved Maharashtra Electric Vehicle Policy-2021, which was announced on July 23, 2021. This policy states that by 2025, the total number of electric vehicle charging infrastructures in the State will reach 2,375. These include Brihanmumbai 1500 and Pune 500, Nagpur 150 and 150, Nagpur 150, Nashik 100; Aurangabad 75; Amravati 30; Solapur 20. Similar facilities will be available for charging electric vehicles at Mumbai-Nagpur Samruddhi Mahamarg and Yashwantrao Chavan Expressway as well as Mumbai-Pune, Mumbai–Nashik, Nashik–Pune and Mumbai-Pune.

Any person or organization can open a public charging station. An electric charging station can be set up near a bus stop, railway station, petrol pump, or shopping center. A variety of electric charging stations can also be set up along the highway.

The State Government also appointed Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd to be the State Nodal Agency responsible for providing infrastructure for charging electric vehicles. Private individuals can also set up charging stations by obtaining priority power supply from MSEDCL. The state government announced financial incentives to encourage the establishment of electric vehicle charging stations.

For the establishment of 15,500 charging infrastructures, a financial contribution of Rs 40 Crore has been made. This includes 15,000 slow chargers as well as 500 medium speed chargers that can be used for semi-public charging stations. MSEDCL has developed a new web portal to help distribute the financial incentives.

Power app:
MSEDCL developed the “Power App” mobile app to track the status of charging stations and provide data about the geographic indices. Current status of electric vehicle charging stations (available or in use), station type, plug type and power (DC, AC), start times, available time (booking via the app). Information on nearby alternative charging stations, such as those located closer to your current location, will be provided if they are not in service.

Less CBSE Students Are Able To Apply In The State Board Std XI This Year

Less CBSE Students Are Able To Apply In The State Board Std XI This Year

Nagpur: As junior college admission season begins for state board-affiliated colleges in Maharashtra, this academic season may see fewer admissions of students coming from CBSE board. As of June 18, only 980 CBSE students had registered for the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) as compared to over 10,000 from SSC (state board). A college principal said, “Our SSC results are out and the second phase of admission process will start soon. While filling the online registration form is the first phase, the real action is in the second half when you choose your preferred colleges and opt for streams.” CBSE students can’t do that, said another principal, “because their results have not been declared yet”. The principal added, “By the time these results are declared, our SSC students would have already taken the best pickings. It’s a lost cause for them (CBSE students), frankly.”

A few more academics from the state board, who said they were “pleased” that a unique disparity has arisen this year regarding results date. “State board junior colleges should always give preference to our SSC students. But CBSE students, due to their liberal marking scheme, score much more and usually grab seats in all important colleges and streams,” said a principal. She added, “Thankfully, this year our state government conducted exams on schedule and declared results on time. So our kids are ready to complete admission formalities and may even start classes before CBSE results are out.”

CBSE students shifting to state board in Nagpur is not uncommon. The thriving competitive exam coaching industry in Nagpur relies heavily on junior colleges giving leeway to their students when it comes to physical attendance in class. A principal said, “The term ‘tie-up’ is used when a coaching class and a junior college reach an agreement. The most obvious part of the agreement is ensuring that either all, or majority of their students will take admission in that college. So that’s guaranteed fees coming without any heavy lifting. The second part is that fake attendance of students is marked in that college, while they sit in coaching institutes.”

But now, with the delayed results, CBSE students, their coaching institutes and ‘tie-up’ junior colleges will have to rethink their strategy. Another principal said, “Now even CBSE schools have become lenient while marking attendance as money from coaching institutes rolls in. So that trend plus this year’s admission problem may see CBSE students staying put at their own institutes.”

Agnipath scheme. General V K Singh was in Nagpur to attend the Janakrosh program on Sunday.

General Singh stated that Congress had a tendency to politicize the issue of recruitment for short-term purposes for the military as the party was unhappy about the ongoing action initiated towards Rahul Gandhi, a member of The Enforcement Directorate. Because the “visionless Opposition is not able to do, it’s inciting a controversy about the Agnipath scheme, even before introduction, he said.

Speaking to the medical personnel at the IMA Hall on Sunday the former Chief of the Army Staff said, “Agnipath Program first became a reality in the aftermath of the Kargil war , when it was the time that Kargil Review Committee was formed by the government. The scheme was in the process of development , and was not yet executed.” The government had a need for compulsory military training for the citizens of India during a period of 30 to 40 years prior to.

The Agnipath program is encouraging the same. These (Agniveers) with the truly skilled will be able to remain within the army, and those who aren’t will have the chance to look into various fields and professions within 4 years, according to the General. The Minister stated that the Army has not been an employer of large scale. It is a completely voluntary force. Individuals join the army or other forces at their own discretion after satisfying certain conditions.

In a reference to his thoughts on the Emergency Commissioning Scheme of soldiers and officers in the war in 1961 General McClellan said “The personnel and officers who were commissioned into the Army during the war between India and China under the emergency program were successful. But, the government shut down the program in 1965 however, no one has opposed the decision. Following their departure the soldiers enrolled in various jobs in corporate and administrative services with their own merits.”

Within four years 75% of the Agniveers are able to join different professions based on their merits due to the training they receive in the military, according to General Singh. In light of the fact that there was no recruitment over the past two years because of COVID-19 The government has increased the age for recruitment as an Agniveer to 23 from 21 years. For those who have been training for the armed forces over the past two years may also submit an application for Agnipath scheme, according to the Minister.

In a discussion about the violence across the nation General Singh declared, “Chief Ministers of those states where violence is occurring are required to step up and work to end these incidents. Instead, they blame authorities at the Central Government for the Agnipath Scheme.”

“If the employees (Agniveers) are successful in their work, 25 percent of them will remain within the organization. Additionally, the remaining members will receive a lucrative financial reward too. States such as Haryana, Uttar Pradesh as and the home department have pledged that they will give priority to the troops,” he said.

He tried to withdraw Rs500, but was denied Rs2,500. This occurred Wednesday at an Automated Teller Machine, (ATM), of a private bank in Khaparkheda, about 30 km from Nagpur.

The word spread quickly and soon, a large crowd gathered in front of the ATM to withdraw cash.

A bank customer reported the incident to local police. They rushed to the scene and closed the ATM and informed the bank.

He said that the ATM was dispensing additional cash because of a technical glitch.

Official stated that currency notes in Rs500 denomination were incorrectly kept in an ATM tray intended to dispense notes of Rs100 denomination.

He added that no case had been filed in this regard so far.

All distinctive features of the old building have been preserved in the newly-constructed building.
