‘Act as facilitator of Marathi art, culture’

Nagpur : “Marathi theatre is pride of Maharashtra. Its greatness can only be judged by people’s views outside Maharashtra. We have a tradition of promoting multilingual theatre groups. Most of these are financially weak and need support to stand on their own stem and proliferate. Government of Maharashtra has been doing its part in promoting such groups by providing theatres at nominal rates. It is now up to various agencies and the people to act as facilitator to help promote theatre movement in a big way,” said Union Minister for Shipping, Surface Transport and Ganga Rejuvination Nitin Gadkari.

He was addressing the gathering comprising, veteran theatre actors, TV serial actors and theatre lovers after the inauguration of the 99th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Sammelan at the specially erected open air stage named after the legendary theatre personality of Vidarbha, Purushottan Darwhekar, on Friday. Gadkari was head of the reception committee. Seated on the dais were Mayor Nanda Jichkar, inaugurator of the four-day sammelan Prof Mahesh Elkunchwar, President of 98th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Sammelan Kirti Shiledar, President of 99th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Sammelan Premanand Gajvi, Dr Girish Gandhi, President of Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Parishad Prasad Kambli.

Declaring the sammelan as inaugurated, Prof Mahesh Elkunchwar expressed his apprehension on the use of term Natya Dharmi coined by Dr Sriram Lagoo on the word Natya Karmi.

“The term smacks of intolerance in the field of art and culture and at the ripe age of 80, I am bit skeptical and feel discomfort, fearing negative response to whatever I say or do. I do not wish to get involved into any controversy. A Natya Karmi’s goal is to get publicity, and benefit from its off shoot openings. We have to come together and work for progress of Marathi theatre without getting into meaningless controversy of Natya Karmi or Natya Dharmi.”

Mayor Nanda Jichkar described the event as a proud moment. She said that the city has been witnessing several top quality sports and cultural activities. “Our effort should be to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of Maharashtra,” she said and lauded personal interest shown in this regard by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.

Earlier, Pramukh Karyawah Naresh Gadekar made introductory remarks. Dignitaries on the dais lit the traditional lamp. Prof Elkunchwar broke the coconut and offered its fragments to all on the dais. All the dignitaries on the dais were feted with shawl, shrifal, a book and a memento.

नागपुरात नकली क्राईम ब्रॅन्च आणि भाड्याच्या घरात कार्यालय

नागपूर – नागपुरात गुन्हेगारीला अक्षरश: ऊत आला आहे. गुन्हेगारांनी वेगवेगळ्या युक्त्या शोधून पोलिसांच्या नाकी नऊ आणले आहेत. आता तर एका भामट्याने चक्क नकली क्राईम ब्रॅन्च म्हणजेच ‘गुन्हे अन्वेषण शाखा’ सुरु केली होती, ती ही भाड्याच्या घरात. एवढेच नाही तर डायरेक्टर क्राईम इन्व्हेस्टिगेशन एजन्सी असा त्याने बोर्डही लावला होता. तो शहरात खुलेआम फिरत होता.

पोलिसांनी नागपूरच्या समर्थनगर भागात एका भाड्याच्या घरात छापा टाकून नकली क्राईम ब्रॅन्चचा भंडाफोड केला. आरोपी नरेश पालरपवार हा ‘क्राईम इन्व्हेस्टिगेशन एजन्सी’ नावाने ही नकली क्राईम ब्रॅन्च चालवत होता. पोलिसांनी आरोपी पालरपवार याला अटक केली आहे. तसेच त्याच्या कार्यालयातून काही दस्ताऐवजही जप्त केले आहेत.

आरोपीने नकली क्राईम इनव्हेस्टिगेशन एजन्सीच्या माध्यमातून शहरातील अशिक्षित नागरिकांची आर्थिक फसवणूककेल्याचा संशय पोलिसांनी व्यक्त केला आहे. पोलिस आरोपीची कसून चौकशी करत आहेत.

Remembering Steve Irwin : Google doodle honours the ‘Crocodile Hunter’

Google is honouring Steve Irwin, the ‘Crocodile Hunter,’ on his 57th birth anniversary with a doodle, showing the Australian wildlife conservationist exploring the great outdoors, holding a crocodile and hanging out with his wife Terri and kids Bindi and Robert.

Wildlife conservationist and television personality Steve Irwin inherited a love of large reptiles early on in life and shared it with the world through his work at the Australia Zoo and his popular TV series ‘The Crocodile Hunter.’ Irwin and his family dedicated their lives to the preservation and appreciation of the earth’s wildlife and wild places.

Born in the suburbs of Melbourne, Australia, on this day in 1962, Irwin was raised by Lyn and Bob Irwin, who gave him an eleven-foot python for his sixth birthday.

He named the snake Fred. During the early 1970s, the Irwins moved to the Sunshine Coast in the Australian State of Queensland and opened Beerwah Reptile Park.

Learning to wrestle crocodiles since the age of nine, Irwin volunteered with Queensland’s East Coast Crocodile Management Program, helping to capture and relocate endangered saltwater crocodiles – the largest of all living reptiles – to protect them from being harmed.

He was involved in all aspects of managing his family’s park, which was renamed Queensland Reptile and Fauna Park, and eventually the Australia Zoo.

Irwin died on September 4, 2006, after a stingray’s serrated barb pierced his heart while he was filming underwater off Australia’s coast.

प्रधानमंत्री घरकुल योजनेअंतर्गत घरांसाठी परत करावा लागणार अर्ज

नागपूर : प्रधानमंत्री घरकुल योजनेअंतर्गत घरांसाठी नागपूरकरांना आणखी काही काळ वाट पहावी लागणार आहे. कारण यापूर्वी घरांसाठी केलेले अर्ज योग्य नसल्याचे सांगत नागपूर महानगर प्रदेश विकास प्राधिकरणाने आता नव्याने अर्ज करण्याची मागणी समोर ठेवली आहे. त्यानुसार अर्जदाराला १० हजार ५०० रुपये भरावे लागणार आहेत.

या योजनेअंतर्गत नागपुरात ४,३५० घरांचे काम सुरू आहे. या घरांसाठी यापूर्वी १७ हजार लोकांनी अर्ज केले होते. परंतु आता घराचा प्राधान्यक्रम, वर्गवारी आणि इच्छुक यांचा उल्लेख अर्जात नव्याने होणार आहे. त्यामुळे पुन्हा अर्ज भरण्याचे आवाहन नागपूर महानगर प्रदेश विकास प्राधिकरणाकडून करण्यात आले आहे.

लोकसभेच्या निवडणुकीनंतर ही घरे लाभार्थ्यांना मिळणार आहे, अशी माहिती नागपूरच्या आयुक्त शीतल तेली यांनी आज आयोजित पत्रकार परिषदेत दिली.

नागपुरात ११ हजार थकबाकीदारांचा वीज पुरवठा खंडित

नागपूर : वीज बिल भरण्यासंदर्भात वारंवार पाठपुरावा करूनदेखील वीज बिलाचा भरणा करण्यास टाळाटाळ करणाऱ्या अकरा हजार २४० ग्राहकांचा वीजपुरवठा महावितरणने खंडित केला आहे. महावितरणच्या नागपूर परिक्षेत्रात वारंवार पाठपुरावा करूनदेखील महावितरणाच्या प्रयत्नांना यश येत नसल्याने ही कारवाई करण्यात आल्याचे स्पष्ट करण्यात आले आहे.

महावितरणच्या नागपूर परिक्षेत्रात १ फेब्रुवारी २०१९ रोजी देय मुदतीत वीज बिलाचा भरणा न केल्याने थकबाकी असलेल्या घरगुती, वाणिज्य आणि औद्योगिक वर्गातील तब्बल १ लाख ७० हजार ९७९ वीज ग्राहकांकडे सुमारे ७० कोटी ३१ लाख रुपयांची थकबाकी जमा झाली होती. यापैकी बहुतांश ग्राहकांनी दोन महिन्यांपासून त्यांच्या वीज बिलाचा भरणा केलेला नव्हता.

महावितरणने सप्टेंबर महिन्यापासून संपूर्ण राज्यभर सुरू केलेल्या केंद्रीकृत बिलिंग प्रणालीमुळे बिलिंगची संपूर्ण प्रक्रिया महावितरणाच्या सांघिक कार्यालयामार्फत करण्यात येते. यातून थकबाकीदार ग्राहकांवर रही सांघिक कार्यालयाकडून विशेष लक्ष दिले जाते. थकबाकीचा वाढता बोजा लक्षात घेता महावितरणतर्फे थकबाकीदारांना पैसे भरण्यासंदर्भात अनेक वेळा सूचना देण्यात आल्या. मात्र, अकरा हजार २४० ग्राहकांनी महाविद्यालयाच्या प्रयत्नांना कोणताही प्रतिसाद न दिल्याने अखेर महावितरणतर्फे त्यांची वीज खंडित करण्याचा निर्णय घेण्यात आला आणि त्यावर कारवाईदेखील करण्यात आली.

CR to lay track on Wardha-Nanded route

Nagpur : In a development that holds promise of transforming backward region of Yavatmal district, work of laying railway track in 40 kms patch upto Kalamb town of Wardha-Nanded stretch is likely to start from May 2019. With this development by Central Railway, the project that saw many ups and down is finally set to make up the lost time. And when the route opens for railway travel, travel time between Nagpur-Mumbai will get reduced drastically. Another significance of the new line will be that it will provide direct rail connectivity to Marathwada and also opens up new vistas of development in Vidarbha.

Currently all tenders for the project are floated for the works on Wardha-Yavatmal section a distance of 77 kms is entrusted to Construction Organisation of Central Railway. Similarly, construction of Yavatmal-Nanded section a distance of 207 kms is allocated to Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a PSU of Indian Railways.

In the Wardha-Kalamb section, earthwork is almost complete, barring some portion where there is infringement of High Tension and Low Tension lines, stated H L Kawre, Deputy Chief Engineer (Const.).

Most of major bridges in the section too are completed and work has gathered much space in last two to three years due to substantially high allocation of funds for construction of new line. Two major bridges on Yashoda river and Bhindi have been completed along with 26 minor bridges, including four railway under bridge (RuB). Around 50 crossings lie on the Wardha-Nanded route and as per new policy there would no road across the tracks and hence RuB are provided at those points.

Maharashtra Government is sharing 40 per cent cost of project that has been given Special Status, the work is now in full swing with track work expected to start during the summer. Land acquisition for the project is nearly 95 per cent complete and 2013 Land Acquisition Act helped in swaying the people’s decision, it provided lucrative rates of 4.5 times the ready reckoner rates.

Tunnel: A 2.5 kms tunnel would in place while reaching the Yavatmal for which the railways would need to drill through a hillock. Kawre said the hillock at back of the airport at Yavatmal poses one big challenge and this major work is planned in second installment, the first being completing section till Kalamb. In all there will be six tunnels totalling 9.8 kms in 284 kms section from Wardha to Nanded.

From Wardha to Kalamb there would be two stations, Deoli crossing station and Bhindi halt station while ahead till Yavatmal one more halt station would be Talegaon. The contracts for stations buildings too have been awarded and work is expected to start very soon.

Wardha-Nanded railway line would criss cross through 90 villages in Wardha, Yavatmal, Washim, Hingoli of six tehsils in Yavatmal and Nanded district. The project was sanctioned by then Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav sometimes in 2008-09. For long nothing moved on the new project but now with substantial funds available through extra budgetary resources (EBR) the construction work is in full swing. The latest revised cost of 284 km new line project is pegged at Rs. 3168.29 crores.

Itwari-Balaghat train to boost trade : Motwani

Nagpur : The Railway administration’s decision to extend Itwari-Gondia train to Balaghat will boost trade and help the traders of Vidarbha and Madhya Pradesh, said Zonal Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) member of South Eastern Central Railway (SECR) and Secretary, Wholesale Grain Market Association, Pratap Motwani. The SECR administration took the decision to extend the train to Balaghat, which began its run from Friday.

In a press release, Motwani said there was a long pending demand for a train from Itwari to Balaghat and being pursued by the ZRUCC and District Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (DRUCC) members from time to time. The traders are happy with the introduction of the train, which will increase the trade activities between the two regions, Motwani said.

He met the newly-appointed Senior Divisional Commercial Manager; SECR; K V Ramana and thanked him for fulfilling the long pending demand. Motwani said, the new train will enhance importance of Itwari station.

Mr Ramana assured Motwani and other traders that he would ensure overall development of Itwari and all the other stations in the divisions. He further assured to provide all the necessary facilities to the traders of Itwari.

Motwani also thanked DCM Tomar and ACM Omprakash Jaiswal. DRUCC member from Kamptee Murarilal Sharma was also present on the occasion.

‘Every police station in city to have independent room for women officers’

Nagpur : COMMISSIONER of Police Dr, Bhushan Kumar Upadhyay on Thursday said that every police station in the city will have an independent room for women officers and a rest room for their male counterparts. Dr Upadhyay was speaking at the inaugural function of first women officers’ room at Sitabuldi Police Station.

Joint Commissioner of Police Ravindra Kadam, General Manager (Admin) Metro Rail Corporation Anil Kokate, Additional Commissioner of Police B G Gaikar, Deputy Commissioners of Police Vivek Masal (Zone I), Chinmay Pandit (Zone II), Rahul Maknikar (Zone III), Nilesh Bharne (Traffic) and Sambhaji Kadam (Crime) were prominently present. Dr Upadhyay said that separate room for women officers and rest room will be constructed in every police station within a year. Senior Inspector Hemant Kumar Kharabe made introductory remarks. SC appoints Lt Gen Ravi Thodge as 3rd member of CoA for BCCI

NEW DELHI : The Supreme Court Thursday appointed Lieutenant General Ravi Thodge as the third member of the Committee of Administrators (CoA) for BCCI.

A bench of Justices S A Bobde and A M Sapre appointed Lt Gen Thodge as a member of CoA after senior advocate P S Narasimha, assisting the court as an amicus curiae in the BCCI matter, told the apex court that two members of the CoA have resigned.

“Having regard to the importance of the said Committee of Administrators for administrating the BCCI, we consider it appropriate to appoint Lt Gen Ravi Thodge, PVSM, to act as a third member of the aforesaid Committee of Administrators for BCCI,” the bench said in its order.

The apex court has fixed the BCCI matter for further hearing on March 14.

In 2017, the apex court had appointed a four-member CoA, headed by former Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) Vinod Rai, to run the affairs of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and implement the court-approved recommendations of the Justice R M Lodha panel on reforms in the cash-rich cricket body.

The other three members of the CoA were former Indian women cricket captain Diana Edulji, historian Ramachandra Guha and banker Vikram Limaye.

Following the resignations of Guha and Limaye, the CoA was left with only two members Rai and Edulji.

Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Sammelan opens today

Nagpur : The 99th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Sammelan, organised by the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Parishad in the city after a gap of 35 years, will be inaugurated at the Kavivarya Suresh Bhat auditorium, Reshimbaug, at 6.30 pm on Friday.

Noted playwright Prof Mahesh Elkunchwar will inaugurate the four-day festival. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Mayor Nanda Jichkar, President of the 98th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan Kirti Shiledar, and President of the 99th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan Premchand Gajvi will grace the inaugural ceremony. The programme will be preceded by a ‘Natya Dindi’ that will highlight specialty of Vidarbha. The sammelan will conclude on February 25.

Theatre artists from all over India will be arriving in the city to take part in the sammelan. Famous Marathi one act plays, Symposium related to topics on Marathi Theatre and other interesting packed programmes will mark the four days of hectic activity on the specially prepared Purushottam Darwhekar Memorial stage. Various entry point gates have been named after renowned Marathi theatre artists. The entire premises at Reshimbaug ground have been named after the legendary Playwright Ram Ganesh Gadkari.

The Natya Dindi , that has been organised on the occasion prior to the inauguration, will take place at 3pm under the title “Vidarbhachi Samrudh Parampara”. It will commence from Shivaji Statue and proceed via Badkas square, Kotwali Police station, Kalyanneshwar Temple, Jhenda Chowk road, and reach Suresh Bhat hall. The palanquin in the Dindi, will have the idol of Lord Natraja and synopsis of the theatre . The Palanquin will be housed in the Ramganesh Gadkari premises . Dhol Tasha Troupes will be part of the Dindi that will highlight speciality of Nagpur city.

A replica of the famous Tekdi Ganapati will be a point of attraction. 21 young girls holding pots on their heads will walk along side , along with Varkari groups, Lezin Groups, Folk theatre group from Yavatmal, Guru Teg Bahadur Ghataka Aghadi, various other folk dancers, participation of Tanha Pola, Motha Pola, Shivkalin Daand Patta and a float providing information on various important places of the city. Nagpur’s century old tradition of Marbat will be represented by the Kali-Pili Marbat in the Dindi. City-based theatre artists and organisers are fully geared up to get involved in the gala event.

RPF arrest mobile thief within 26 minutes of theft

Nagpur : The Special Crime Detection team and the staff of CCTV of Railway Protection Force (RPF) arrested a mobile thief within 26 minutes of the incident at Nagpur Railway station on Thursday. The accused has been handed over to GRP, Nagpur.

According to reports, the complainant Sheikh Shaqeel Dastgir (37), a resident of Ramagundam, Telangana had come to the station to return to his native place along with his family. They then went to the waiting hall of Platform No 1 as there was time for their train to arrive. Sheikh put his mobile phone worth Rs 13,000 for charging and went to sleep.

Seeing Sheikh in a sound sleep, an unidentified person made his escape good with the mobile phone. On waking up at around 3.45 am Sheikh saw his phone missing and rushed to the RPF police station where lodged a complaint.

The Special Crime Detection team of RPF led by PSI S P Singh swung into action. Head Constable Iliyas Ansari and Rajeshwar Gupta, who were on duty at the CCTV room, checked the footage where they found a person stealing Sheikh’s phone. Head Constable Santosh Patel and Constable Nitesh Thamke while searching for the thief, noticed a suspicious person at the car parking area on the western side of the station. On questioning, he could not give satisfactory answers and was then brought to the RPF police station before PSI Singh.

On questioning by Singh, he told the police his name as Suraj Mahendra Yadav (28), a resident of Anantpur, Kota, Rajasthan. When asked about the mobile phone, he told the police that because his mobile phone was stolen, he decided to steal a phone and took away Sheikh’s phone while he was sleeping. The phone was recovered from him and handed over to the GRP on the orders of RPF Police Inspector V N Wankhede. The GRP has registered an offence under Section 379 of IPC. Further investigations are on.

The entire action was carried out under the guidance of RPF Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, RPF, Nagpur Division Central Railway; Jyoti Kumar Satija.

अपघातात महिलेसह दोन जण ठार

नागपूर : विविध ठिकाणी झालेल्या अपघातात महिलेसह दोन जण ठार झालेत.

पहिली घटना डोंगरगाव भागात घडली. लेखराम महाकाळकर व त्यांच्या पत्नी मंदा या रस्ता पार करीत होते. एमएच-३१-ईए-२८८९ या क्रमांकाच्या कारने मंदा यांना धडक दिली. मंदा यांचा मृत्यू झाला. अपघातानंतर चालक कारसह पसार झाला.

दुसरी घटना, नवीन कामठीतील जयस्तंभ चौकात बुधवारी सकाळी ११ वाजताच्या सुमारास घडली. भरधाव एमएच-३६-बीपी-६१४१ या क्रमांकाच्या ट्रकने मोटरसायकलला धडक दिल्याने कन्हय्या जयनारायण सिंग वय २० रा. कांद्री कन्हान हा युवक ठार झाला. दोन्ही प्रकरणी पोलिसांनी प्राणांतिक अपघाताचा गुन्हा दाखल केला आहे.

HC seeks MERC’s reply on audio-visual recording

Transgender people can apply for police constable’s job: Maharashtra govt to HC

Nagpur : Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court has directed the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) to place on record affidavit giving full details about audio-video footage of past proceedings, whether it was supplied to anyone and whether any fees was charged.

A division bench consisting of Justice Pradeep Deshmukh and Justice Rohit Deo while hearing a PIL filed by a vigilant citizen Anil Wadpalliwar against the MERC’s September 4 decision to destroy audio-video recordings of the past proceedings, directed the Commission also to specify whether it would permit videography of its proceedings or public hearing by an individual on payment of charges.

The High Court also permitted the petitioner to amend the petition and join the members of MERC as party-respondent by name, since the PIL had prayed to initiate penal action against the concerned who were responsible for destruction of public records. The High Court had directed the MERC not to implement its resolution but the MERC had informed that on the very next day it implemented the decision to destroy entire audio-video record.

MERC members including chairman Anand Kulkarni, IM Bohari and Mukesh Khullar, on September 4 had unanimously passed a resolution not to record MERC hearings anymore and destroy the recordings of past hearings in due course of time. Besides, it was decided not to supply copies of such audio or video to any member of public. No reasons, whatsoever, were given for reaching this decision.

According to petitioner, the resolution is contrary to Section 78 of Conduct of Business Regulations of MERC, 2004 which states that all the documents pertaining to the hearings should be indexed and be provided to citizens on payment of a fee.

According to petitioner the resolution was draconian and against transparent functioning of power regulator. When Apex Court has favoured live streaming of proceedings to allow general public to view the court proceedings, there is no rationale in taking such anti-democratic stance, the petitioner stated while pointing out that during tariff hearings, common people and representatives of various sectors participate in the hearing and their views are duly recorded. If the commission fails to consider any logical point raised by participating member, a legal remedy can be pursued. It is precisely to deprive people from raising questionmarks over decision making process of the regulator, this decision was taken, the petitioner claimed while urging High Court to quash the impugned resolution.

नागराज मंजुळेच्या ‘झुंड’ सिनेमाची तारीख जाहीर

मुंबई – नागराज मंजुळेचा पहिला बॉलिवूड चित्रपट झुंड अनेक कारणांनी चर्चेत आहे. अमिताभ बच्चन यांची प्रमुख भूमिका असलेल्या या चित्रपटात सैराट फेम रिंकु राजगुरु आणि आकाश ठोसर यांच्याही भूमिका आहेत. या चित्रपटाच्या प्रदर्शनाची तारीख निश्चित करण्यात आली आहे. २० सप्टेंबर २०१९ रोजी झुंड प्रेक्षकांच्या भेटीस येणार आहे.

झुंड चित्रपटाची कथा स्लम फुटबॉल लिगची आहे. झोपडपट्टीत राहणाऱ्या मुलांना फुटबॉलचे धडे शिकवत त्यांना व्यसनापासून बाजूला नेणाऱ्या एका कर्तृत्ववान कोचची आहे. विजय बारसे यांच्या खऱ्या आयुष्यावर बेतलेली ही कथा आहे. ही मध्यवर्ती भूमिका अमिताभ बच्चन साकारत आहेत.

या चित्रपटातील इतर कलाकार हे खरोखर झोपडपट्टीत राहणारे फुटबॉल खेळाडू आहेत. सैराट फेम आकाश ठोसर आणि रिंकु राजगुरुचीदेखील यात महत्त्वपूर्ण भूमिका आहे.

नागराज मंजुळे या चित्रपटातून बॉलिवूडमध्ये पदार्पण करीत आहेत. अमिताभसोबत काम करण्याचे त्यांचे स्वप्न होते. झुंडच्या माध्यमातून ते आता पूर्ण होतंय. झुंडच्या टीझर आणि ट्रेलरची आता प्रेक्षकांना प्रतीक्षा लागून राहिली आहे.

‘प्लास्टिक कडवुल’ में पेश की क्रेडिट कार्ड से बर्बाद होने की कहानी

नागपुर : क्रेडिट कार्ड के चक्कर में पड़ने से मध्यम वर्गीय परिवार के युवा राजारमण पर आत्महत्या करने की नौबत आ जाती है, जिसे उसका दोस्त के कंदस्वामी बचाता है। आज का मध्यम वर्गीय परिवार आधुनिक लाइफ स्टाइल के भंवरजाल में फंस कर कभी-कभी ऐसे ही मोड़ पर आ कर खड़ा हो जाता है। कुछ इन्हीं बातों को कॉमेडी ड्रामा के जरिए नाटक का मंचन कर लोगों को सीख दी गई।

दक्षिण भारतीय शिक्षण संस्था की 125वीं वर्षगांठ के आयोजन पर दिल्ली से आए कलाकार टीवी वर्धरंजन ने ‘प्लास्टिक कडवुल’ नाटक की प्रस्तुति सरस्वती विद्यालय परिसर में दी। इस अवसर पर संस्था अध्यक्ष के. टी. के. व्यंकटेश, वाइस प्रेसिडेंट टी. जी. जानकीरमण, सचिव वी. दुरईराजन, चेयरमैन नटराजन अय्यर आदि उपस्थित थे। नाटक में कॉमेडी के साथ ट्रेजडी भी है। नाटक का नाम ‘प्लास्टिक कडवुल’ है। जिसमें क्रेडिट कार्ड का उपयोग करने से व्यक्ति किस हद तक पहूंच जाता है यह बताया गया है। नाटक में राजारमण मध्यमवर्गीय परिवार से है, जो कभी क्रेडिट कार्ड का उपयोग नहीं करता है, लेकिन उसका भाई शेखर उसे क्रेडिट कार्ड यूज करने की सलाह देता है, जिसके चलते उसे कार्ड यूज करने की आदत हो जाती है।

राजारमण पर करोड़ो का लोन हो जाता है, जिससे उसे आत्महत्या करने की नौबत आ जाती है। फिर उसे उसका दोस्त के कंदस्वामी समझाता है और आत्महत्या करने से रोकता है। साथ ही इस समस्या से निकलने का रास्ता भी बताता है। इस तरह नाटक की कहानी ने दर्शकों बांधे रखा। नाटक यूनाइटेड विजुअल टैलेंटेड तमिल थियेटर टीम द्वारा प्रस्तुत किया गया।

Maha Metro trains 260 officers for operations

Nagpur : As the Maha Metro gears up to start its service in the city, it is gearing up on the administrative side to run the operations. The company has trained 260 officials and employees.

All these employees and officials have been given training related to train operations besides their respective works. Moreover, mock drills are conducted from time to time to test their skills. All the employees have cleared the tests conducted so far, informed Metro officials.

The employees including section engineer, junior engineer, station control, train operation, technician and FMS staff were given training of passenger related services as well as emergency situation. Minute attention is being paid on passenger facilities for which special training has been given to the employees.

A total of 50 station controllers or train operators, 34 section engineers or junior engineers and 31 technicians were imparted 45-day basic training, seven-day fire fighting safety and first-aid training, seven-day soft skill, communication skill, personality development, etc. In addition, they were given 30-day technical training of OEM.

Moreover, 130 FMS staffs were given 45-day basic training, fire fighting safety and first-aid training, soft skill, communication skill, personality development and other training.

Maha Metro officials including Director (Finance) (Rolling Stock and System) S Shivmathan, Director (Rolling Stock and System) Sunil Mathur, General Manager (Administration) Anil Kokate, CPM (O&M) Sudhakar Urade and Manager (Training &FMS) Mahendra Swami under the guidance of Managing Director Brijesh Dixit are busy in looking after security arrangements at the stations.

नागपूर : नागपूर महानगरपालिकेतर्फे शहरी बेघरांसाठी निवारा उपलब्ध करून देण्यात आला आहे. बेघर निवाऱ्यातील सोयींसोबतच त्यांच्या मनोजरंजनाचीही काळजी घेण्यात येत आहे. शहर समृद्धी उत्सवांतर्गत बेघर निवाऱ्यातील बेघरांना इंदोरा चौकातील आयनॉक्समध्ये ‘गली बॉय’ चित्रपट दाखविण्यात आला.

शहरा फुटपाथवरील बेघर, निराधारांना निवाऱ्याची चांगली सोय उपलब्ध होवून, त्यांचं जगणं सुसह्य व्हावं, यासाठी दीनदयाल अंत्योदय योजना-राष्ट्रीय नागरी उपजीविका अभियानातंर्गत नागपूर महानगरपालिका, समाज कल्याण विभागाच्या माध्यमातून शहरी बेघरांसाठी बेघर निवारा केंद्र सुरु करण्यात आले आहे. नागपूर महानगरपालिकेचे अतिरिक्त आयुक्त अझीझ शेख तसेच उपायुक्त डॉ. रंजना लाडे यांच्या मार्गदर्शनात शहराच्या फुटपाथवरील बेघरांना निवारा देण्याचे कार्य अविरत सुरू आहे.

“शहर समृद्धि उत्सव” अंतर्गत नागपूर महानगरपालिकेच्या सर्व शहरी बेघर निवारातील बेघरांना आयनॉक्स जसवंत तुली मॉल इंदोरा येथे “गल्ली बॉय” हा चित्रपट दाखवण्यात आला. बेघर असतानाही मल्टीप्लेक्समध्ये चित्रपट बघण्याचा आनंद अनुभवता आल्याने त्यांच्या उत्साहाचे वातावरण होते. ‘अपना टाईम आएगा’ या चित्रपटातील गाण्याचे फलक झलकावित या बेघरांनी लोकांना ‘आयुष्यात हताश होऊ नका. आनंदाने जगा’ असा मंत्र दिला. याप्रसंगी बेघरांसह दीनदयाल अंत्योदय योजना-नागरी उपजीविका अभियानाचे व्यवस्थापक प्रमोद खोब्रागडे यांचेसह सर्व निवारागृहाचे कर्मचारीवृंद उपस्थित होते.

22-year-old rape victim ends life days before her wedding

Nagpur : A tragic incident took place in Nagpur district of Maharashtra where a rape victim ended her life. The 22-year-old girl was raped two days ago and was depressed after the assault. She also wrote a suicide note before ending her life.

The victim, a resident of Moradi, was a scholar and on February 15, a boy who was known to her, called her at Moradi bus stand. The victim went to meet him and then, the accused forced her to drink alcohol with the help of his two other friends. The accused then raped her and then, along with his two friends, threw the victim in an unknown place in the night and ran away.

The victim lodged a complaint with the police and the three accused were arrested. The victim was going to be married on March 10. Her father is no more and she is survived by her mother and a younger brother. Both of them work on their farm.

Tragedy struck her household just few days before her wedding and the victim was in acute depression since the dastardly crime was committed.

On Sunday, the victim committed suicide by hanging herself in her house. She was alone at home at the time and was allegedly upset over accusations against her. Before ending her life, the victim wrote a suicide note demanding the main accused to be punished with a death sentence.

नेहरूनगर झोनमध्ये ‘जनसंवाद’ कार्यक्रम

नागपूर : पाणी ही मानवाची मुलभूत गरज आहे. त्यामुळे शहरातील नागरिकांना नियमीत व वेळेवर पाणी मिळणे आवश्यक आहे. मात्र आज संपूर्ण शहरात पाण्याचीच समस्या अग्रणी आहे. दहाही झोनमधील ‘जनसंवाद’मध्ये सुद्धा पाण्याच्या सर्वाधिक तक्रारी पुढे आल्या आहेत. त्यामुळे पाण्याच्याबाबतीत जबाबदारीने काम करून नियमीत पाणी पुरवठा व्हावा यासाठी आवश्यक ती कार्यवाही तातडीने पूर्ण करा, असे निर्देश पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे यांनी दिले.

नेहरूनगर झोनमध्ये ‘जनसंवाद’ कार्यक्रमात सोमवारी (ता.१८) पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे यांनी नागरिकांच्या समस्या जाणून घेतल्या व त्या समस्या सोडविण्यासाठी अधिकाऱ्यांना निर्देशित केले. नेहरूनगर झोनमधील दत्त मंदिर सुदामपुरी मैदानात आयोजित ‘जनसंवाद’ कार्यक्रमाला महापौर नंदा जिचकार, आमदार सुधाकर कोहळे, आमदार कृष्णा खोपडे, तुमसरचे आमदार चरण वाघमारे, आयुक्त अभिजीत बांगर, जलप्रदाय समिती सभापती विजय झलके, परिवहन समिती सभापती जितेंद्र कुकडे, क्रीडा समिती सभापती नागेश सहारे, दुर्बल घटक समिती सभापती हरीश दिकोंडवार, नेहरूनगर झोन सभापती रिता मुळे, प्रतोद दिव्या धुरडे, नगरसेविका स्नेहल बिहारे, समिता चकोले, मनिषा कोठे, रेखा साकोरे, वंदना भुरे, मंगला गवरे, अतिरिक्त आयुक्त रवींद्र ठाकरे, सहायक आयुक्त हरीश राउत, पोलिस उपायुक्त निलेश भरणे यांच्यासह विविध विभागांचे विभागप्रमुख व विविध शासकीय कार्यालय, तसेच ओसीडब्ल्यू, एसएनडीएलचे पदाधिकारी उपस्थित होते.

यावेळी नेहरूनगर झोनमधील दोनशेच्यावर तक्रारींचा पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे यांनी निपटारा केला. नेहरूनगर झोनमधील दर्शन कॉलनी, सुदामपुरी, भांडेप्लॉट, राजेंद्रनगर, न्यू डायमंड नगर, वाठोडा, संत गाडगेबाबा नगर, भाग्यश्री नगर, बापूनगर, ओमनगर, दत्तात्रयनगर यासह अनेक भागात नागरिकांना पाण्याच्या अनेक समस्यांचा सामना करावा लागत आहे. गढूळ पाणी, नियमीत पाणी पुरवठा न होणे, अल्पवेळ पाणी पुरवठा, अवाजवी पाणी बिल अशा अनेक समस्यांमुळे दररोजच नागरिकांना मन:स्ताप सहन करावा लागतो. नागरिकांचा वाढता रोष पाहता पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे यांनी ओसीडब्ल्यूच्या अधिका-यांना चांगलेच फटकारले. संपूर्ण शहरातच पाण्याच्या अनेक समस्यांचा नागरिकांना मन:स्ताप सहन करावा लागत आहे. यासंबंधी नेहरूनगर झोनमध्ये प्रथम पाण्यासंबंधी अडचणी असणा-या भागामध्ये सर्व्हे करून येत्या सात दिवसांमध्ये आयुक्तांपुढे अहवाल सादर करून केलेल्या कार्यवाहीची माहिती देणे, तसेच १५ दिवसांनी पालकमंत्र्यांच्या अध्यक्षतेत बैठकीत कार्यवाहीची माहिती देण्याचे निर्देश पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे यांनी दिले. याशिवाय शहरातील संपूर्ण विहिरींची स्वच्छता करून तिथे लघुनळ योजनेद्वारे नागरिकांना पाणी उपलब्ध करून देणे असेही निर्देश त्यांनी दिले. पाण्याच्या समस्येचे गांभिर्य जपत मनपाच्या डेलिगेट्सनी ओसीडब्ल्यूच्या कर्मचा-यांवर नियंत्रण ठेवण्याचे यावेळी आयुक्त अभिजीत बांगर यांनी निर्देशित केले.

Aero India 2019: 2 Surya Kiran aircraft collide mid-air during rehearsals

Bengaluru : With just a day left for the Aero India 2019 air show in Bengaluru, two BAE Systems Hawk trainer jets belonging to Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team of Indian Air Force crashed at Yelahanka Air Force Station during rehearsals on Tuesday.

Both the pilots had ejected safely, however, one of them succumbed to his injuries. One civilian has also been reported to be injured by the accident. According to the eyewitnesses, the incident happened around 12 pm near the ISRO layout in Yelahanka New Town area. The cause of the accident is yet to be identified.

The plane was reportedly flying at a speed of 400- 500 kmph at the time of the crash,.

Aero India 2019 is a biennial air show and aviation exhibition organised by the Defence Ministry in Bengaluru. It is one of the biggest air shows in Asia that provides a platform for manufacturers and service providers from the aerospace and aviation industry to meet potential buyers.

The 12th edition of the airshow will be conducted from February 20-24. Thousands of visitors are expected to attend the five-day event that is being held at the Yelahanka airforce station.

शहरातील दोन हजार दिव्यांगांना मिळणार ई-स्मार्ट कार्ड

नागपूर : जिल्हाधिकारी नागपूर यांच्या मार्गदर्शनानुसार ‘मिशन झिरो पेंडेसी’ दिव्यांग प्रमाणपत्र विशेष मोहिम उपक्रमाअंतर्गत शहरातील दोन हजार दिव्यांगांना ई-स्मार्ट कार्ड मिळणार आहेत. त्याअंतर्गत नागपूर महानगरपालिका, समाज कल्याण विभाग, अपंग कल्याण विभाग आणि जिल्हा अपंग पुनवर्सन केंद्र यांच्या वतीने सोमवारी (ता.१८) मनपा मुख्यालयातील डॉ. पंजाबराव देशमुख स्थायी समिती सभागृहात आयोजित कार्यक्रमात प्रातिनिधिक स्वरूपात काही दिव्यांगांना ई-स्मार्ट कार्ड वितरीत करण्यात आले. यावेळी आयोजित कार्यक्रमात महिला व बालकल्याण समिती सभापती प्रगती पाटील, उपसभापती विशाखा मोहोड, समितीच्या सदस्या मनिषा अतकरे, रश्मी धुर्वे, नगरसेवक दिनेश यादव, उपायुक्त डॉ. रंजना लाडे, समग्र शिक्षा तथा जिल्हा अपंग पुनर्वसन केंद्राचे समन्वयक अभिजीत राउत उपस्थित होते.

विविध शासकीय योजनांचा लाभ मिळविण्यासाठी दिव्यांगांजवळ अपंगत्वाचे वैद्यकीय प्रमाणपत्र असणे आवश्यक आहे. ‘मिशन झिरो पेंडेसी’ दिव्यांग प्रमाणपत्र विशेष मोहिम उपक्रमाअंतर्गत नागपूर जिल्ह्यातील सहा हजार दिव्यांग बांधवांना घरपोच प्रमाणपत्र देण्याची मोहिम राबविण्यात येत आहे. त्याअंतर्गत शहरातील दोन हजार दिव्यांगांना ई-स्मार्ट कार्ड प्रदान करण्यात येणार आहे.

आयआरसीटीसीद्वारे प्रदान करण्यात येणा-या ई-स्मार्ट कार्डमुळे दिव्यांग व्यक्तींना ऑनलाईन तिकीट सवलतीच्या दरात मिळणार आहेत. तिकीटसाठीही दिव्यांगांना रांगेत उभे राहावे लागणार नाही. प्रवासादरम्यान ई-स्मार्ट कार्ड सोबत ठेवणे आवश्यक असणार आहे. भारतीय रेल्वे प्रशासनामार्फत देण्यात येणा-या प्रवास सवलतीमुळे अनेक दिव्यांगांना लाभ होणार आहे. ई-स्मार्ट कार्डमुळे दिव्यांगांना प्रवासाठी विविध दस्तावेज बाळगण्याची गरज नसून एका ई-स्मार्ट कार्डमुळे रेल्वे प्रवासातील सर्व सुविधांचा लाभ त्यांना घेता येणार आहे.

दिव्यांग व्यक्तींना भारतीय रेल्वे प्रशासनामार्फत सुरू करण्यात आलेले यूनिक आयडी कार्ड (आयआरसीटीसीद्वारे सवलत आधारित ई-तिकीट) योजनेचा लाभ घेण्याकरिता आवश्यक बाबींची पूर्तता करणे अनिवार्य आहे. ई-स्मार्ट कार्डकरीता दिव्यांगांकडून रेल्वे सवलत प्रमाणपत्र, छायाचित्र ओळख पुरावा, जन्माचा पुरावा, पत्त्याचा पुरावा, दोन पासपोर्ट आकाराचे छायाचित्र, रेल्वे फोटो ओळखपत्र मिळविण्याकरिता संबंधित कागदपत्रांच्या एक छायाप्रत संच प्रमाणित (स्वंय प्रमाणित) करून दोन हजार दिव्यांग बांधवांचे दस्तावेज मागविण्यात आले. संपूर्ण दस्तावेज नागपूर महानगरपालिका समाज कल्याण विभाग व जिल्हा अपंग पुनर्वसन केंद्र, नागपूर यांच्या वतीने तयार करून जिल्हाधिकारी नागपूर यांच्या पत्रासह रेल्वे विभागास सादर करण्यात आले.

उपक्रमाद्वारे प्राप्त होणारे दोन हजार यूनिक आयडी कार्ड आयआरसीटीसीद्वारे सवलत आधारित ई-तिकीट प्रमाणपत्र दिव्यांग बांधवांना घरपोच देणे, शहरी भागातील दिव्यांगांना शासकीय टपालाव्दारे, उपरोक्त योजनेची तपशील माहिती दिव्यांग बांधवांना व्हावी याकरिता योजनेचे माहितीपत्रक तयार करणे आदीबाबत जिल्हाधिकारी अश्वीन मुद् गल व मनपा आयुक्त अभिजीत बांगर यांच्या वतीने निर्देशित करण्यात आले आहे.

गिट्टीखदान में चलती कार जलने लगी : ३ लोग बाल- बाल बचे

नागपुर : शहर के गिट्टीखदान क्षेत्र में सोमवार की दोपहर एक कार धूं-धूं जलने लगी। यह देखने के लिए लोगों की भारी भीड़ इकट्‌ठा हो गई, किन्तु जब कार में ३ लोग सवार होने का पता चला तो उन्हें सतर्कता से बाल- बाल बचाया गया।

प्राप्त जाानकारी के अनुसार गोरेवाड़ा निवासी प्रवीण नरबिलवार अपनी कार क्रमांक एमएच ३१ ई क्यू ११४९ से गिट्टीखदान की ओर जा रहे थे तभी सामने बोनट से धुआं उठता देख कार चालक प्रवीण ने कार की गति धीमी कर दी और कार में सवार लोगों को तुरंत नीचे उतरने के लिए कहा।

कार में सवार प्रवीण नरबिलवार, नंदकिशोर नरबिलवार सहित उनका एक मित्र सवार था। तीनों व्यक्तियों के नीचे उतरते ही आग ने रौद्र रूप धारण कर लिया, जिससे कार पूरी तरह जल गई। कहा जा रहा है कि यदि प्रवीण ने फौरन सभी को कार से नहीं उतारा होता तो अनर्थ हो सकता था।

जिसे देखने के लिए वहां लोगों की भारी भीड़ जमा हो गई। घटना की सूचना मिलते ही दमकल विभाग के अधिकारी और कर्मचारी घटनास्थल पर पहुंचे। दमकल कर्मियों के घटनास्थल पर पहुंचने से पहले ही आग में कार पूरी तरह आ चुकी थी। दमकल कर्मियों ने आग पर काबू तो पा लिया, लेकिन कार जलकर खाक हो गई। कार में सवार तीनों लोग गोरेवाडा से गिट्टीखदान की ओर जा रहे थे। जब यह घटना हुई कार में सवार तीनों लोगों ने कार से नीचे उतर कर अपनी जान बचाई। इस दौरान गिट्टी खदान की पुलिस भी घटनास्थल पर पहुंच चुकी थी। पुलिस ने इस मार्ग का यातायात कुछ देर के लिए रोक दिया था जिससे दमकल कर्मियों को आग बुझाने में परेशानी नहीं हुई।

नागपूर : शहरातील डॉक्टर दाम्पत्याला खंडणीसाठी ठार मारण्याची धमकी देणाऱ्या ४ जणांना पोलिसांनी अटक केली आहे. या प्रकरणाची तक्रार दाखल झाल्यानंतर अंबाझरी पोलीसांनी ही कारवाई केली. महत्वाचे म्हणजे, डॉक्टरांना खंडणी मागणाऱ्या आरोपींमध्ये त्यांच्याकडे काम करणाऱ्या कर्मचाऱ्याचाही समावेश आहे.

राज्याची उपराजधानी आणि गुन्हे जगताची राजधानी अशी ओळख असलेल्या नागपुरात आता खंडणीचे प्रकार देखील समोर यायला लागले आहेत. त्यामुळे नागपुरातील डॉक्टरही सुरक्षित नसल्याचे दिसून येत आहे. नागपूरच्या अंबाझरी पोलीस ठाण्याच्या हद्दीत राहणारे डॉक्टर चौधरी यांचे क्लिनिक आहे. ते स्वतः सर्जन असून त्यांच्या पत्नी पॅथॉलॉजी लॅब चालवतात.

चौधरी दाम्पत्याला ९ फेब्रुवारीला एका निनावी पत्राव्दारे ५० लाख रुपयाची खंडणीची मागणी करण्यात आली. तेव्हा या दाम्पत्यांनी अंबाझरी पोलीस ठाण्यात गुन्हा दाखल केला. पोलिसांनी या घटनेचा तपास करत खंडणी मागणाऱ्या ४ आरोपींना अटक केली. या आरोपींमध्ये डॉक्टराच्या लॅबमध्ये काम करणारा एक कर्मचारीही सामील आहे.

‘Majhi Metro’ runs! Trial run on the elevated track

Nagpur : The Nagpur dream of a metro seemed very very real on Monday when the Metro railway successfully managed its first ‘at grade’ trial.

Until now the metro trials and joy-rides were all happening on the ground level. It is for the first time today that the metro had an elevated trial run. The RDSO team has specially come down to monitor the trials. The metro requires the RDSO sanction which will be spread over a lot of trials and speeds before it can commence commercial run.

Today the metro covered a distance of 11.5 Kms from Khapri to Congress Nagar. This encompasses some ten metro stations as per the plan. The trial run took place under the supervision of an 11-member team of Research Design and Standards Organisation, functioning under the Ministry of Railways.

नागपुरात तरुणीचे अपहरण करून मध्यप्रदेशात विक्री, चार जणांविरुद्ध गुन्हा दाखल

नागपूर : गुंगीच्या पदार्थाचा रुमाल नाकाला लावून बेशुद्ध केल्यानंतर चौघांनी गिट्टीखदानमधील एका तरुणीला मध्यप्रदेशात नेले. तेथे एका व्यक्तीला तिची ७५ हजार रुपयात विक्री करून आरोपींनी तिचे त्याच्यासोबत लग्न लावून दिले. जुलै २०१८ मध्ये घडलेल्या या घटनेचा तब्बल सात महिन्यांनंतर उलगडा झाला. या प्रकरणी पोलिसांनी तीन महिलांसह चार जणांविरुद्ध गुन्हा दाखल केला आहे.

२२ वर्षीय तरुणीने नोंदविलेल्या तक्रारीनुसार, आरोपी आशा रोकडे, उषा रोकडे, चंदा गजभिये आणि त्यांचा एका साथीदार हे सर्व गिट्टीखदानमधील जगदीशनगरात तरुणीच्या शेजारी राहतात. त्यामुळे तरुणीसोबत त्यांची बोलचाल होती. तरुणीचे पालक तिच्या लग्नासाठी वर शोधत होते. ते माहित असल्यामुळे तरुणीसोबत आशा, उषा आणि चंदाने सलगी वाढवली. तिला चांगला वर शोधून देतो, असे सांगून १४ जुलै २०१८ ला दुपारी १२ च्या सुमारास आपल्या घरी बोलविले. तेथे बोलता बोलता आरोपीने तिच्या नाकावर रुमाल ठेवला. ती बेशुद्ध झाल्यानंतर आरोपींनी तिला तशाच अवस्थेत मध्यप्रदेशातील शहजानपूर येथे नेले. तेथील अशोक कैलास सिसोदिया याला ७५ हजार रुपयात तरुणीला विकले. त्यानंतर सिसोदियासोबत तिचे लग्न लावून दिले. यावेळी आरोपी महिलांनी सिसोदियाला आपली ओळख तरुणीची आई तसेच मावशीच्या रुपात दिली.

दरम्यान, तरुणीचा संसार सुरळीत सुरू झाला. आता सात महिन्यानंतर तरुणी आणि तिचा पती सिसोदिया कौटुंबिक गप्पा करीत असताना त्यांच्यात लग्नापूर्वीच्या गोष्टी निघाल्या. यावेळी सिसोदियाने तुझी मला विक्री करताना तुझ्या आई आणि मावशीने ७५ हजार रुपये माझ्याकडून घेतल्याचे तरुणीला सांगितले. तेव्हा या प्रकरणाचा उलगडा झाला. आशा, उषा आणि चंदा पैकी कुणीच नातेवाईक नसल्याचे तरुणीने सांगितले. त्यानंतर सिसोदिया आणि त्याची पत्नी (तक्रारदार तरुणी) शहजानपूरच्या पोलीस ठाण्यात तेले. त्यांनी सर्व माहिती तेथील पोलिसांना दिली. शहजानपूर पोलिसांनी गिट्टीखदान पोलिसांना कळविले. त्यानंतर सिसोदिया दाम्पत्य शुक्रवारी नागपुरात पोहचले. तरुणीने दिलेल्या तक्रारीवरून गिट्टीखदान पोलिसांनी आरोपी आशा, उषा, चंदा आणि त्यांच्या एका साथीदाराविरुद्ध अपहरण करून तरुणीची विक्री केल्याप्रकरणी गुन्हा दाखल केला.

मेट्रोच्या ‘स्टील गर्डर ब्रीज’चे कार्य अवघ्या सहा दिवसांत पूर्ण

नागपूर : व्हरायटी चौकजवळील शहीद आदिवासी गोवारी उड्डाणपुलावरील मेट्रोच्या ‘स्टील गर्डर ब्रीज’चे कार्य अवघ्या सहा दिवसांत पूर्ण झाले आहे. ४४ मीटरचा हा ब्रीजचे काम पूर्ण झाले असून येत्या बुधवारपासून उड्डाणपूल वाहतुकीसाठी खुला करण्यात येणार असल्याची माहिती महामेट्रोचे व्यवस्थापकीय संचालक ब्रिजेश दीक्षित यांनी रविवारी दिली.

नागपूर मेट्रो रेल्वेच्या रिच-२ कॉरिडोरअंतर्गत व्हरायटी चौकाजवळ शहीद आदिवासी गोवारी उड्डाणपुलावर मेट्रोचे काम पूर्ण झाले आहे. जमिनीपासून १८.५ मीटर उंचीवर मेट्रोच्या दोन पिलरवर एकूण ४०० मीटर लांबीच्या स्पॅनसाठी झालेल्या या कार्यासाठी ४०० आणि २२० मेट्रिक टन क्षमतेच्या दोन क्रेनचा वापर करण्यात आला. ‘स्टील गर्डर ब्रीज’चे कार्य होत असताना सतत जड लोखंडी साहित्याचा वापर होणार असल्याने वाहतुकीस धोका निर्माण होऊ नये, यासाठी वाहतूक विभागातर्फे कार्य पूर्ण होईपर्यंत आदिवासी गोवारी शहीद उड्डाणपूल बंद करण्यात आला होता. मात्र, आता स्टील गर्डर ब्रीज पुर्णत्वास आल्याने येत्या बुधवारपासून उड्डाणपूल पूर्ववत वाहतुकीसाठी सुरू होणार आहे. इतके मोठे आणि जोखमीचे कार्य केवळ आठवड्याभराच्या आत करण्यात आल्याबद्दल आश्चर्य व्यक्त करण्यात येत आहे.

मुंजे चौक ते झिरो माइल स्टेशन हे अंतर ६०० मीटर इतके आहे. झिरो माइल स्टेशनजवळ स्टील गर्डर ब्रीज तयार करण्यात आले आहे. यामुळे शहीद आदिवासी गोवारी उड्डाणपुलाच्या वरून मेट्रो धावणार आहे. या दोन्हींमधील अंतर तीन मीटर उंचइतके राहणार आहे. स्टील गर्डर ब्रीजचे अंतर ४४ मीटरइतके आहे. चोवीस तास काम करत आठवड्याभराच्या साकारण्यात आलेल्या ब्रीज पाच तुकड्यांमध्ये आहे.

Cops arrested two vehicle lifters, seized 7 two-wheeler

Nagpur : In a major breakthrough, Crime branch unit 2 rounded up two notorious vehicle lifters and recovered seven two-wheelers stolen from different areas.

Cops arrested Mohammed Abid Haneef Ansari, resident of Taka Sidharth Nagar and Mohammed Dilshad Mohd Raees Ansari, resident of Mominpura, near Abbumiya Masjid.

The seized two-wheelers include five Activa mopeds, one Jupitor moped and one Hero Honda Splendor motorcycle collectively worth Rs. 3.25 lakh. With the arrest of the two accused, the Crime branch has cracked seven vehicle lifting cases including three cases in Jaripatka police jurisdiction, three in Panchpaoli and one case in Abazari police jurisdiction.

The arrest was made by Police Inspector Anchal Mudgal, API Jitendra Bobde, PSI Rajkumar Tripathi, ASIs Mohanlal Shahu, Sitanath Pandey and other staff including Prashant Deshmukh, Santosh Madankar, Santosh Nikhar, Manjit Singh Thakur, Yogesh Gupta, Sagar Thakre under the guidance of DCP Sambhaji Kadam and ACP Sanjiv Kamble.
