English Vinglish actor Sujata Kumar passes away after battling cancer

Sujata Kumar, who played the role of Sridevi’s sister in 2012 Bollywood movie English Vinglish, passed away on Sunday night. Her sister and actor Suchitra Krishnamoorthi shared the news on her social media accounts. She tweeted, “Our beloved Sujata Kumar has passed away and moved on to a better place leaving us with an umimaginable void. She left us an hour ago at 11.26 pm on the 19th of august 2018..Life can never be the same again …”

Sujata, suffering from fourth stage cancer, was admitted in Mumbai’s Lilavati hospital. On Facebook, Suchitra shared that the actor will be cremated at Juhu Crematorium. She said, “We are bidding our last farewell to Sujata Kumar at Juhu Crematorium, Vile Parle west, near Pavan Hans today 20th august 2018 at 11 am.

On August 18, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi had informed her followers that her sister Sujata Kumar was in the ICU and was fighting for her life. Along with a photo of her sister, she had said, “It feels like somebody’s plunged a hard cold knife into my heart & ripped the ground from under my feet as i sit outside ICU & pray for my big sis my mother my best friend my darling Sujata Kumar as she battles for her life inside Pls join me & my family in prayers for her.”

Apart from English Vinglish, Sujata Kumar also appeared in movies like Raanjhanaa and Guzaarish and TV shows like Anil Kapoor’s 24.

Asian Games 2018: Vinesh Phogat enters 50 kg wrestling final

India’s Vinesh Phogat has ensured a medal for the country after she reached the final of the 50 kg women’s freestyle wrestling final in great style. She won her semi-final bout in little over a minute to storm into the title round, beating Uzbekistan’s Dauletbike Yakhshimuratova by technical superiority.

Vinesh Phogat got off to a great start as she thumped Yanan Sun of China 8-2 to enter the last 8 of the 50 kg category. She was outstanding form in her quarter-final bout as she annihilated Hyungjoo Kim of South Korea 11-0 to win by technical superiority.

Sakshi, the 2016 Rio Olympic bronze medallist, outclassed Salinee Srisombat of Thailand to win by technical superiority in the 62 kg category. She was in outstanding form in the quarter-finals too as she blanked Kazakhstan’s Kassymova Ayaulym 10-0 to enter the semis. She though went down in final seconds of her semi-final bout, eventually losing 7-8 to Aisuluu Tynybekova of Kyrgyzstan.

Pooja Dhanda also got off to a winning start in the 57 kg category as she dominated her Thai opponent. Dhanda was at her ruthless best as she beat Orasa Sookdongyor 10-0 to win by technical superiority. She then outclassed Nabira Esenbaeva of Uzbekistan 12-1 in the quarter-final to get into touching distance of ensuring a medal for India. Pooja though went down meekly, 0-10, to Jong Myong of North Korea in the semi-finals.

Pinki disappointed in the 53 kg category as she lost her opening bout 0-10 to Mongolia’s Sumiya Erdenechimeg. She could make it to the repechage if her opponent reaches the final round.

Sumit Malik, the only male wrestler in the fray today, lost his first round bout to Iran’s Parviz Hadibasmanj.

कोलकाता: पश्चिम बंगालमधील शालेय पाठ्यपुस्तक सध्या चर्चेत आले आहे. पाठ्यपुस्तकात ‘फ्लाईंग शिख’ धावपटू मिल्खा सिंग म्हणून चक्क अभिनेता फरहान अख्तरचा फोटो छापला आहे. हा सगळा प्रकार सोशल मीडियावर व्हायरल झाला आहे.

पश्चिम बंगालमधील पाठ्यपुस्तकात फरहान अख्तरचा फोटो छापला असल्याची चूक एका नेटिझन्सने ट्विट करत लक्षात आणून दिली. त्यानंतर अभिनेता फरहान अख्तरने ही गंभीर चूक असल्याचे म्हटले. पाठ्यपुस्तकात मिल्खा सिंग यांचा चुकीचा फोटो छापण्यात आला असून हे पुस्तक मागे घेण्याची विनंती फरहानने पश्चिम बंगालच्या शिक्षण मंत्र्यांना केले आहे. या ट्विटद्वारे फरहानने सत्ताधारी तृणमूल काँग्रेसचे नेते खासदार डेरेक ओब्रायन यांचेही लक्ष वेधले आहे.

पश्चिम बंगालचे शिक्षण मंत्री पार्थ चॅटर्जी यांनी सांगितले की, फरहान अख्तर यांनी केलेल्या ट्विटबद्दल माहिती मिळाली असून या प्रकरणाच्या चौकशीचे आदेश देण्यात आले असून आवश्यक पावले उचलण्यात आली असल्याचे त्यांनी सांगितले.

मिल्खा सिंग यांनी भारतीय क्रीडा क्षेत्रात आदराचे स्थान आहे. धावपटू म्हणून काही विक्रमांची नोंद त्यांच्या नावावर आहे. १९५८ च्या राष्ट्रकुल क्रीडा स्पर्धेत त्यांनी सुवर्ण पदक पटकावले होते. अशी कामगिरी करणारे ते भारताचे पहिले धावपटू ठरले. मिल्खा सिंग यांच्या आयुष्यावर बेतलेल्या ‘भाग मिल्खा भाग’ या चित्रपटात फरहान अख्तरने त्यांची भूमिका साकारली होती.

The first posters for Jabariya Jodi are out and it looks like Parineeti Chopra is ready to do anything to steal her jiju’s jootis, even kidnap him. In one of the posters, Pari and Sidharth Malhotra, the lead stars of the film, look impressed and smug at their feat of successfully kidnapping a groom.

“Shooting begins!,” Parineeti proclaimed in a tweet with the poster on Monday morning. Sidharth also shared the poster on his social media pages.

After Hasee Toh Phasee, the Bollywood stars are reuniting for Ekta Kapoor’s next.

Directed by Prashant Singh, Jabariya Jodi is co-presented by Balaji Telefilms and Karma Media Entertainment. Meanwhile, Ekta Kapoor had shared that the cast had begun the shoot for the film.

Asian Games 2018 : Deepak Kumar bags silver in 10m Air Rifle

Indian shooter Deepak Kumar has bagged silver medal in 10m Air Rifle event in the 18th edition of the Asian Games being held at Incheon in South Korea. The Indian shooter scored 247.7 points while China’s Yang Haoran won the gold medal with 249.1 points.

Another Indian shooter Ravi Kumar, who had bagged bronze medal in Mixed 10m Air Rifle event along with Apurvi Chandela, was earlier eliminated with a score of 205.2 points after qualifying for the final round. LU Shaochuan of Chinese Taipei clinched the third spot to win bronze with 226.8 points.

India has so far won three medals – one gold, one silver and one bronze – in the ongoing Asian Games. Bajrang Punia won the first gold for the country in wrestling as he defeated Takatani Daichi of Japan 11-8 on Sunday. The 24-year-old chalked up 13-4, 12-4, 10-4, 11-3 victories to bulldoze his way into the 65 kg final.

Nagpur: The long wait for McDonald’s will soon be over! Coming up as a delightful surprise for all the food lovers and those who binge on quick food diet, McDonald’s outlet will be opened soon at an upcoming mall near Medical Square.

The Tata Group is coming up with a Trillium Mall in its township Tata Capitol Heights at Rambagh on Great Nag Road. A huge billboard of McDonald’s outside mall area has catching fancy of food lovers these days.

Even as a major chunk of project is nearing completion, the food enthusiasts are looking forward towards the McDonald’s outlet.

McDonald’s is an American fast food company, founded in 1940 as a restaurant operated by Richard and Maurice McDonald, in San Bernardino, California, United States.

For long, the fast food patrons have been awaiting the arrival of this fast food giant as the bigwigs like Dominos and KFC had entered in, while Panino, yet another local sandwich chain was already doing brisk business. There was a buzz that McDonalds will be coming up at Empress Mall near Gandhi Sagar lake, but soon all the air settled down.
The big ticket size and need for daily quantum of business were cited as reasons behind McDonald’s reluctance to offer franchise in Nagpur.

Commenting on the scenario Jayesh Bagde, CEO of Panino Foods India Pvt Ltd, told, “Actually McDonald require a huge business proportions in the form of orders intake. This could roughly accounts for a daily counter of Rs 2 to Rs 2.5 lakh, against the existing players.” Panino is yet another upmarket fast food chain in Nagpur having outlets at various locations in city.

The second day of sporting events at the 18th edition of the Asian Games 2018 has started in Indonesia on August 20, Monday.

Wrestler Bajrang Punia who is 2014 defending champion, dedicated his gold medal to Late former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji. He bagged India’s first gold medal in the 65 kg Men’s Freestyle event on Day 1 (Sunday). He thrashed Japan’s Daichi Takatani 11-8 in the final round.

“Congratulations @BajrangPunia for the memorable victory in the 65 kg freestyle wrestling. This win is even more special because it is India’s first Gold in the @asiangames2018. Best wishes for your future endeavours. #AsianGames2018”, PM Modi tweeted to express his joy on the first gold medal.

On the other hand shooters Apurvi Chandela and Ravi Kumar opened the account for India by winning the bronze medal in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed team event. They had scored 429.9 to finish for third spot in the final.

Meanwhile, Shuttler PV Sindhu beat Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi 21-18, 21-19 in Women’s Team Quarterfinals in Badminton.

Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat will take to the mat on Day 2 of the Asian Games 2018.

India’s Dushyant has qualified for the final Men’s Lightweight Single Sculls, string with a time of 7:43.08.

नागपूर : घर बांधकाम जर १२५ चौ.मी. किंवा १५०० चौ.फूट पेक्षा अधिक असेल तर रेन वॉटर हार्वेस्टिंग करणे बंधनकारक आहे. त्यानुसारच नकाशे मंजूर करण्यात येतील, अशी माहिती जलप्रदाय समिती सभापती पिंटू झलके यांनी दिली.

शनिवारी (ता.१८) मनपा मुख्यालयातील डॉ.पंजाबराव देशमुख सभागृहात जलप्रदाय समितीची बैठक आयोजित करण्यात आली. यावेळी उपनेते नरेंद्र (बाल्या) बोरकर, उपसभापती श्रद्धा पाठक, सदस्या जयश्री रारोकर, सदस्य हरिश ग्वालबंशी, संजय बुर्रेवार, कार्यकारी अभियंता (पेंच प्रकल्प) अनिरूद्ध चौगंजकर, प्रभारी कार्यकारी अभियंता (जलप्रदाय) प्रदीप राजगिरे, उपअभियंता मनोज गणवीर, ओसीडब्ल्यूचे उपसंचालक राजेश कालरा प्रामुख्याने उपस्थित होते.

भविष्यातील पाणी टंचाई रोखण्यासाठी आतापासून पाणी बचतीसाठी उपाययोजना करणे आवश्यक आहे. यासाठी रेन वॉटर हार्वेस्टिंग करणे आवश्यक असल्याचा निर्णय जलप्रदाय समितीने घेतला आहे. यापुढे १२५ चौ.मी. पेक्षा जास्त घर बांधकाम असेल तर रेन वॉटर हार्वेस्टिंग आवश्यक राहणार आहे. रेन वॉटर हार्वेस्टिंग केल्यानंतर भूजल सर्वेक्षण विभागाकडून त्याचे प्रमाणपत्र आणणे आवश्यक आहे. याबाबत समितीचा प्रस्ताव पुढील कार्यवाहीसाठी सभागृहाकडे पाठविण्यात येणार असल्याचेही त्यांनी सांगितले.

जलप्रदाय समितीच्या झोननिहाय आढावा बैठकीचा अहवाल तयार केला की नाही याचा आढावा सभापती पिंटू झलके यांनी घेतला. ज्या तक्रारी बैठकीमध्ये आढळल्या होत्या त्याचे निवारण केले की नाही, याचीही माहिती सभापतींनी घेतली.

धरमपेठ व मंगळवारी झोनमधील पाणी पुरवठ्याचे वेळापत्रक कोणाच्या आदेशावरून बदलविण्यात आले, असा सवाल सदस्य हरिश ग्वालबंशी यांनी विचारला. त्यावर बोलताना सभापती पिंटू झलके म्हणाले, यानंतर ओसीडब्ल्यूने कोणताही निर्णय घेताना स्थानिक नगरसेवकांना विश्वासात घ्यावे, असे निर्देश दिले.

नालंदा नगरची पाण्याची टाकी पूर्ण झाली आहे. आता दक्षिण-पश्चिम नागपूरचा पाण्याचा प्रश्न सुटेल असा विश्वास त्यांनी व्यक्त केला. तातडीच्या पाणी पुरवठा उपाययोजनासंबंधीचा आढावा सभापती पिंटू झलके यांनी घेतला. शासकीय कार्यालयाच्या पाणी देयकाबाबत आढावा घेण्यात आला. पोलिस विभागाचे क्वॉर्टर्स, मुख्यालयाची देयके मोठ्या प्रमाणावर असल्याचे निदर्शनास आले. यावर बोलताना सभापती श्री.झलके यांनी मनपा आयुक्तांमार्फत सर्वांना पत्र पाठविण्यात यावे, असे सूचित केले.

शहरात सुरू करण्यात आलेल्या २४ बाय ७ पाणी पुरवठा योजनेचादेखिल आढावा सभापतींनी घेतला. सद्यस्थितीत १६ स्पॉट्स (कमांड एरिया) तयार झालेले आहे. आणखी काही स्पॉटस्‌ वाढवून पुढील कामे लवकरच सुरू करण्यात येणार असल्याची माहिती ओसीडब्ल्यूच्या अधिकाऱ्यांनी दिली.

नागरिकांना मोठ्या प्रमाणावर देयके प्राप्त होत आहे. त्यासंबंधी काही उपाययोजना करता येईल का, यावर विचार करण्यात यावा, असे सभापतींनी सांगितले. मागील वर्षात पाण्याच्या देयकाची किती वसुली झाली याचादेखिल आढावा बैठकीमध्ये घेण्यात आला. या वर्षी २०० कोटीची वसुली झालीच पाहिजे, असे सभापती श्री .झलके यांनी सांगितले.

बैठकीला ओसीडब्ल्यूचे अधिकारी व कर्मचारी, मनपाचे डेलिगेट्स यांच्यासह जलप्रदाय विभागाचे अधिकारी व कर्मचारी उपस्थित होते.

शहरात विविध ठिकाणी ‘वॉटर एटीएम’ उभारणार

नागपूर शहरातील विविध ठिकाणी वर्दळीच्या जागेवर ‘वॉटर एटीएम’ उभारण्यात येणार आहे. यासाठी महापालिकेच्या जागांचे सर्वेक्षण करण्यात आले आहे. ही योजना प्रायोगिक तत्त्वावर दक्षिण-पश्चिम नागपूरमध्ये राबविण्यात येत आहे. यासाठी लक्ष्मीनगर झोनची निवड करण्यात आली आहे. दरांविषयी एक धोरण निश्चित करून पुढील कार्यवाहीसाठी पुढे पाठविण्यात येणार असल्याची माहिती उपअभियंता मनोज गणवीर यांनी दिली.

Independence Day was celebrated with full zeal & enthusiasm at Nagpur Branch of ICAI Dhantoli Nagpur. Flag hoisting at the occasion was done by the Senior Chartered Accountant CA. B C Bhartia. While addressing the gathering B C Bhartia said that celebrating Independence gives us a sense of belonging and motivation to develop ourselves as a nation.

He urged the members and students to value the Independence by contributing professionally and individually to the development of country. While commenting on the role of Chartered Accountants in the nation he said that Ca’s are responsible to ensure that social fabric of the country is intact with responsibility of guiding the government and citizens to a better future.

CA. B C Bhartia further highlighted the importance of use of Hindi language in our day to day communication. He said that the young generation should feel proud of Hindi language and should ensure that Hindi language is not forgotten in the process of learning foreign languages.

Chairman of the Branch CA. Umang V Agrawal welcomed all the members and Students. He said that CA’s play an important role in nation building and urged the members and students to make best use of their skills to help government further propel the economy of the country. He highlighted the importance of Performance, Transformations and reformation a chartered accountant can create for society at large.

He also added that the seniors of the profession have played an instrumental role in building the worlds fastest growing economy and therefore continued hardwork should be done by the young generation on the same lines.

Further on the ven of Independence day the Branch organized a cultural program ‘Ek sham Desh ke Naam’ wherein members and students presented various performances in the spirit of independence and nationalism. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ajni Shri Nilesh Bharne, shared his thoughts on the role of Police in the harmony and discipline in the country while the role of Chartered Accountants is that of ensuring financial stability in the economy.

He also shared his experiences he had as Nodal Officer in the Uttarakhand floods in the year 2013. Shri Sandeep Pathey also presented a documentary ‘Sardesh ka Sandesh’ showcasing the various borders India shares with neighboring countries.

जिला परिषद का दिव्यांगो के कल्याण पर नहीं है ध्यान, ट्राइसिकल का निधि सॉफ्टवेयर पर किया खर्च

नागपुर :- दिव्यांगों का कल्याण करने के बजाय जिला परिषद का समाज कल्याण विभाग खुद का कल्याण करता दिख रहा है। जिप के सेस फंड से दिव्यांगों के लिए आरक्षित निधि उनके विकास पर खर्च करना छोड़ सॉफ्टवेयर पर खर्च करने की कवायद की जा रही है। पिछले दो वित्तीय वर्ष में ट्राइसिकल के लिए मंजूर 6 लाख रुपए की निधि विभाग खर्च नहीं कर पाया। इसमें से 4 लाख रुपए अब साॅफ्टवेयर खरीदी पर खर्च करने का आमसभा में प्रस्ताव रखा गया है। इससे अंदाजा लगाया जा सकता है कि विभाग को दिव्यांगों की कितनी परवाह है।

जिप के सेस फंड से समाज कल्याण विभाग को 20 प्रतिशत निधि दी जाती है। इसमें से 3% निधि दिव्यांगों की व्यक्तिगत लाभ योजना के लिए आरक्षित रखी जाती है। इस निधि से वित्तीय वर्ष 2016-17 में 1.5 लाख और वर्ष 2017-18 के लिए 4.5 लाख रुपए निधि ट्राइसिकल के लिए मंजूर की गई। दो वर्ष में इस निधि की फूटी कौड़ी भी समाज कल्याण विभाग खर्च नहीं कर पाया, जिससे 6 लाख अखर्चित रह गए।

जिप सेस फंड से पैडल पर चलने वाली ट्राइसिकल की योजना है। इस योजना का वित्तीय वर्ष 2016-17 और 2017-18 की निधि खर्च नहीं हो पाई। बहाना किया जा रहा है कि बैटरी से चलने वाली ट्राइसिकल खनिज विकास निधि से दिए जाने के कारण पैडल से चलने वाली ट्राइसिकल योजना को लाभार्थियों का प्रतिसाद नहीं मिल रहा है, जबकि खनिज विकास निधि से वित्तीय वर्ष 2017-2018 में बैटरी से चलने वाली ट्राइसिकल की योजना शुरू की गई है। इस योजना का जिला परिषद को प्राप्त 10 प्रतिशत निधि से 111 ट्राइसिकल का वितरण किया गया है।

जिप समाज कल्याण अधिकारी सुकेशिनी तेलगोटे ने आमसभा में कहा कि एक लाभार्थी अनेक बार योजना का लाभ उठाते हैं। इसे रोकने के लिए अखर्चित निधि से 4 लाख रुपए खर्च कर सॉफ्टवेयर लगाया जाएगा। एक बार लाभ उठाने के बाद दोबारा आवेदन करने पर इस सॉफ्टवेयर से पता चल जाएगा। एक ही लाभार्थी को बार-बार लाभ उठाने से रोकने में इस सॉफ्टवेयर का उपयोग होगा।

जिप सेस फंड के 3 प्रतिशत निधि पर दिव्यांगों का पूरा अधिकार है। इस निधि का उपयोग उन्हीं के लिए विकास योजनाओं पर खर्च होना चाहिए। दो साल में ट्राइसिकल के लिए दिव्यांग लाभार्थी नहीं मिल पाना समाज कल्याण विभाग की अकार्यक्षमता का परिणाम है। दिव्यांगों के अधिकार की निधि अन्यत्र खर्च करने के नापाक इरादों को बर्दाश्त नहीं किया जाएगा। यदि ऐसा होता है, तो जिलाधिकारी तथा विभागीय आयुक्त से शिकायत की जाएगी।

NEW DELHI: The first photo of Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas at what is supposedly their roka ceremony in Mumbai has been released by fan clubs. Priyanka and Nick are dressed in traditional Indian outfits – she in a yellow and white outfit, he in a white kurta pajama. The roka was reportedly attended by Priyanka’s cousin Parineeti Chopra, who flew back to Mumbai from a shooting schedule, and other family and friends. Nick’s parents, Denise and Kevin Jonas, are in Mumbai for the festivities – it’s not clear who else is included in the ladkewale.

The roka will likely be followed by a party this evening – the guest list is expected to include Ranveer Singh, Karan Johar and other celebrities.

मिनी ऑलिम्पिक अशी ओळख असणाऱ्या एशियाड स्पर्धेला आजपासून इंडोनेशियाच्या जकार्ता येथे सुरुवात होणार आहे. १८ ऑगस्टला संध्याकाळी साडेपाच वाजल्यापासून या स्पर्धेच्या स्वागत सोहळ्याला सुरुवात होणार आहे. या स्पर्धेत भारतीय महिला आणि पुरुष कबड्डी संघाची गटवारी आणि वेळापत्रक जाहीर करण्यात आलं आहे. भारतीय पुरुष आणि महिलांचा अ गटात समावेश करण्यात आला आहे.

अद्याप यशराज फिल्मसची निर्मिती असलेल्या या चित्रपटाचे शीर्षक निश्चित केलेले नसून ऋतिक ‘धूम २’ या चित्रपटानंतर तब्बल १२ वर्षांने यशराज फिल्मससोबत काम करताना दिसणार आहे. या चित्रपटाचा पोस्टर पाहून हे दोन्ही कलाकार चित्रपटात नायकाची भूमिका साकारणार असल्याचा लोकांचा समज झाला असेल, असे आपल्या ट्वीटर अकाऊंटद्वारे ऋतिकने म्हटले आहे.

प्रेक्षकांना ऋतिकचे हे ट्वीट गोंधळात टाकणारे आहे. या दोघांतील एक कलाकार या ट्वीटवरून चित्रपटात निगेटीव्ह भूमिका साकारणार असल्याचा अंदाज लावला जाऊ शकतो. भारत, इटली, पोर्तुगाल, स्वीडन अशा अनेक ठिकाणी या चित्रपटाची शूटींग केली जाणार आहे. चित्रपट २०१९ मध्ये २ ऑक्टोबरला प्रदर्शित होणार आहे.

केरल: केरल में बाढ़ ने भारी तबाही मचाई है. बाढ़ से केरल के कई इलाकों में हाहाकार है. कई दशकों बाद आई इस बाढ़ की विभीषिका ने अपना विकराल रूप दिखाया है, जिसमें अब तक 324 लोगों की मौत हो गई है. प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने बाढ़ से तबाह केरल के लिए 500 करोड़ रुपये की आर्थिक मदद की घोषणा की है. इससे पहले आज सुबह प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने कोच्चि में अधिकारियोें के साथ बैठक कर स्थिति का जायजा लिाय और फिर केरल के बाढ़ प्रभावित इलाकों का हवाई दौरा किया. पीएम मोदी ने प्रधानमंत्री राष्ट्रीय राहत कोष से बाढ़ से मरने वालों के परिजनों को दो लाख के मुआवजे का ऐलान किया. वहीं, गंभीर रूप से घायलों को 50 हजार रुपये के मुआवजे की घोषणा की गई.

बताया जा रहा है कि करीब तीन लाख से ज़्यादा लोग राहत शिविरों में शरण लिए हैं. राज्य के 14 में से 12 ज़िलों में रेड अलर्ट है. बाढ़ प्रभावित इलाकों का जायजा लेने के लिए पीएम मोदी भी पहुंच चुके हैं. शुक्रवार की देर शाम अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी जी की अंत्येष्टि के बाद पीएम मोदी केरल के लिए रवाना हुए. आज वह सुबह करीब पौने आठ बजे तिरुवनंतपुरम से कोच्चि के लिए रवाना हुए.

मौसम विभाग ने आज भी बारिश के आसार जताए हैं, जिससे हालात और बिगड़ने के आसार हैं. इडुक्की और एर्नाकुलम राज्य के बाक़ी हिस्सों से पूरी तरह कट गए हैं. पानी भरने की वजह से कोच्चि एयरपोर्ट को 26 अगस्त तक बंद कर दिया गया है. हज़ारों किलोमीटर सड़कें बह गई हैं. 80 बांधों को खोल दिया गया है. हालंकि, सेना, एयरफ़ोर्स, नेवी, एनडीआरएफ़ की टीमें युद्धस्तर पर राहत और बचाव का अभियान चला रही हैं..

एयरफ़ोर्स के 22 एयरक्राफ़्ट रेस्क्यू ऑपरेशन में लगे हैं. वहीं, सेना बोट के ज़रिए लोगों को निकाल रही है. NDRF की 39 टीमें पहले से ही राहत-बचाव में जुटी हैं. 14 और टीमों को भेजा जा रहा है. कोस्टगार्ड के तीन जहाज़ भी ऑपरेशन में जुटे हैं. इस बीच प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी बीती रात केरल पहुंचे. आज वो प्रभावित इलाक़ों का हवाई दौरा करेंगे.

इस बीच केरल के मुख्यमंत्री पिनरई विजयन ने भी ट्वीट कर लोगों से बाढ़ प्रभावित लोगों के लिए मदद की अपील की है. बताया जा रहा है कि करीब सौ वर्षों में केरल सबसे भयावह बाढ़ को झेल रहा है. मुख्यमंत्री पिनरई विजयन ने बाढ़ प्रभावित लोगों की मदद के लिए डोनेशन की भी अपील की है. मुख्यमंत्री आपदा राहत कोष में कोई भी मदद कर सकता है, इसके लिए अकाउंट नंबर भी जारी किये गये हैं.

सीएम विजयन ने रक्षा मंत्री निर्माला सीतारमण से भी बात की और बताया कि हालात लगातार ‘गंभीर’ होते जा रहे हैं. 50,000 से अधिक परिवारों से 2.23 लाख लोग राहत शिविरों में शरण लिए हुए हैं. कुछ जगहों पर बारिश थोड़ी थमी है, लेकिन पथनमथिट्टा, अलपुझा, एर्नाकुलम और त्रिशूर जिले अब भी मानसूनी संकट से जूझ रहे हैं.

माजी क्रिक्रेटपटू आणि पाकिस्तान तेहरीक-ए-इन्साफचे अध्यक्ष इमरान खान यांची पाकिस्तानचे पंतप्रधान म्हणून निवड झाली आहे. शुक्रवारी संसदेत झालेल्या मतदानात त्यांच्या निवडीवर शिक्कामोर्तब करण्यात आलं. ते आज पंतप्रधानपदाची शपथ घेणार आहेत.

जुलैमध्ये झालेल्या निवडणुकीत इमरान खान यांचा पाकिस्तान तेहरीक-ए-इन्साफ (PTI) पक्षाला सर्वाधिक जागा मिळाल्या होत्या. दोन दशकं राजकारण केल्यानंतर त्यांच्या पक्षाला इतक्या मोठ्या प्रमाणात जागा मिळाल्या आहेत. त्यामुळे तेच पाकिस्तानचे पंतप्रधान होतील अशी शक्यता त्याच वेळी वर्तवण्यात आली होती.

शुक्रवारी सहयोगी पक्षांच्या मदतीने या पक्षाने आपलं मताधिक्य संसदेत दाखवलं. खान यांना 176 मतं मिळाली तर पाकिस्तान मुस्लीम लीगचे उमेदवार शाहबाज शरीफ यांना 96 मतं मिळाली.

शनिवारी त्यांचा शपथविधी होणार आहे. या शपथविधीसाठी सुनील गावस्कर, नवज्योत सिंग सिद्धू, कपिल देव यांच्यासह अनेक मान्यवरांना पाकिस्तानला निमंत्रित केलं आहे.

जर पंतप्रधान म्हणून आपली निवड झाली तर आपण आर्थिक सुधारणांवर लक्ष देऊ, असं त्यांनी सांगितलं.

नागपुर :- ‘नवरोज’ यानी पारसी समाज का नया साल (नववर्ष) के स्वागत के लिए शुक्रवार को शहर के गांधी सागर स्थित अग्यारी में पारसी समुदाय ने हर्षोल्लास के साथ नवरोज मनाया । बता दे की पारसियों के लिए यह दिन सबसे बड़ा होता है। आज सुबह से ही पारसी समुदाय के लोगों ने मिठाई खिलाई और आपस में गले मिलकर एक- दूसरे को नव वर्ष की शुभकामनाएं दी। पारसी समुदाय के सभी लोग सुबह से ही गांधीसागर के पास स्थित धर्मशाला पहुंचने लगे थे। अग्यारी में जश्न किया गया और यज्ञ द्वारा समाज और देश की सुख समृद्धि तथा खुशहाली के लिए प्रार्थना की गई।

पारसी समुदाय में अग्नि को ईश्वर का सबसे पवित्र प्रतीक मानते है। इस अवसर पर धर्मशाला में पूजा सामग्री फल और मिठाइयों के साथ अन्य व्यंजनों की भी विशेष पूजा की गई। नव वर्ष पर सभी लोग अपनी पारंपरिक वेशभूषा मे थे। पुरुष डगली और सिर पर टोपी पहने हुए थे जबकि महिलाएं गुजराती साड़ी धारण कर पहुंची। महिलाओं के सिर पर स्कार्फ बंधा हुआ था। इस अवसर पर समाज के अध्यक्ष अस्पी बापूना, उपाध्यक्ष नवरोज डावर, सचिव सिराज गिमी, पूर्व सांसद गेव आवारी सहित बड़ी संख्या में समाज बंधु उपस्थित थे।

HMD Global is all set to launch the new Nokia 6.1 Plus smartphone in India on August 21. Ahead of its official launch, the company has slashed the prices for Nokia 6.1 device which was launched in the country earlier this year in April.

The Finish company introduced the 3GB variant of the smartphone at Rs 16,999 whereas the 4GB option was added to the lineup later at Rs. 18,999. With a price of Rs. 1500 on both the versions, the new smaller variant (3GB RAM) is now retailed at Rs. 15,499, and the 4GB version is priced at Rs. 17,499 respectively. The company is retailing both the handsets with slashed prices via online platforms across India.

Nokia 6.1 Plus specifications

As far as the specifications are concerned, the Nokia 6.1 handset comes with a 5.5-inch full-HD screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC, up to 4GB RAM, up to 64GB ROM, 3000mAh battery, Android Oreo and much more. The company is also offering flat 25 per cent instant discount on MakeMyTrip along with Rs 2000 cashback from Airtel. Moreover, no-cost EMI option and free Airtel TV is also on offer till December 31, 2018, with the purchase of Nokia 6.1 smartphone.

On the other hand, the upcoming Nokia 6.1 Plus is expected to come with a 5.8-inch FHD+ display with 1080×2280 resolution and aspect ratio of 19:9. Under the hood, the smartphone will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 636 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that will be expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card.

For optics, the smartphone will carry dual camera module at the rear featuring 16MP primary and 5MP secondary sensors with LED flash. Upfront, the smartphone will be fitted with a 16MP snapper for selfies and video calling. As far as the prices are concerned, the company will be looking to keep the costs for Nokia 6.1 Plus competitive. We speculate that the smartphone could be priced under Rs. 20,000.

पाकिस्तान क्रिकेट बोर्ड (पीसीबी) ने शुक्रवार को राष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट टीम के बल्लेबाज नासिर जमशेद पर 10 साल का बैन लगा दिया है| जमशेद पर यह बैन पीसीबी के भ्रष्टाचार विरोधी नियमों के बार-बार किए उल्लंघन के लिए लगाया गया है|

तीन सदस्यीय ट्रिब्यूनल ने अपने फैसले में कहा कि किसी भी क्रिकेट प्रारूप से प्रतिबंध के अलावा जमशेद भ्रष्टाचार विरोधी नियमों के पांच से सात बार किए गए उल्लंघन के कारण आजीवन पाकिस्तान क्रिकेट में किसी भी प्रकार के प्रबंधन की जिम्मेदारी निभाने के लिए अयोग्य घोषित होने चाहिए|

पिछले दो वर्षो में यह दूसरी बार जमशेद को दोषी ठहराया गया है| इससे पहले, पिछले साल दिसम्बर में जमशेद को 2017 पीएसएल स्पॉट फिक्सिंग मामले में सही से सहयोग न देने के लिए एक साल के लिए बैन लगाया गया था|

इस साल की शुरुआत में जमशेद पर लगा यह बैन समाप्त हुआ था, लेकिन अब उन पर एक बार फिर बैन लगा है, जो लंबे समय के लिए है|

नासिर जमशेद ने पाकिस्तान के लिए 48 वनडे, 18 टी20 और 2 टेस्ट मुकाबले खेले हैं| वनडे में उन्होंने 3 शतक और 8 अर्धशतक समेत 1418 रन बनाए हैं| वहीं टी20 में उनके नाम 363 रन हैं| दो टेस्ट मैचों में उन्होंने कुल 51 रन बनाए हैं|

नासिर पिछले तीन सालों से वनडे टीम से बाहर चल रहे हैं, जबकि टी20 और टेस्ट टीम से पिछले 5 सालों से बाहर चल रहे हैं|

तिरुवअनंतपुरम: केरळ मध्ये गेल्या काही दिवसांपासून सुरू असलेल्या मुसळधार पावसामुळं महापूर झाला आहे. या पुरामुळं सर्वाधिक हानी झाली आहे. जनजीवन ठप्प झालं आहे. पुरातील बळींची संख्या १६७ वर पोहोचली आहे. पिके आणि वित्तहानी मोठ्या प्रमाणात झाली आहे. एकूण आठ हजार कोटींहून अधिक नुकसान झालं आहे. हवामान विभागानं राज्यातील १३ जिल्ह्यांत रेड अॅलर्ट जाहीर केला आहे.

मुसळधार पाऊस आणि महापुरात आतापर्यंत एकूण १६७ जणांचा मृत्यू झाला आहे, अशी माहिती मुख्यमंत्री पी. विजयन यांनी शुक्रवारी प्रसारमाध्यमांना दिली. राज्यात पूरग्रस्त भागात युद्धपातळीवर बचाव आणि मदतकार्य सुरू आहे. त्यात लष्कर, हवाई आणि नौदलासह तटरक्षक दल आणि एनडीआरएफची ५२ पथकांचा समावेश आहे. एनडीआरएफची पाच पथके शुक्रवारी सकाळीच तिरुवअनंतपुरम येथे पोहोचली असून, बचावकार्य सुरू आहे. एनडीआरएफची आणखी ३५ पथकं रवाना झाली आहेत.

पथनमतित्ता जिल्ह्यातील रन्नी, अरनमुला, कोझेनचेरी गावातील हजारो ग्रामस्थ पुरात अडकले आहेत. मुख्यमंत्री विजयन यांनी पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांच्यासह अन्य केंद्रीय मंत्र्यांकडे आणखी मदत मागितली आहे.

Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, Batti Gul Meter Chalu is all set to hit the screens on September 21.

Shahid was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat that also featured Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in pivotal roles. On the other hand, Shraddha is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film Stree alongside actor Rajkummar Rao.

टेनिस स्टार लिएंडर पेस एशियाई खेलों मे नही लेंगे हिस्सा

नई दिल्ली। विशेषज्ञ डबल्स पार्टनर नहीं मिलने के कारण भारत के अनुभवी टेनिस स्टार लिएंडर पेस ने 18वें एशियाई खेलों से हटने का फैसला किया।

18 ग्रैंड स्लैम खिताब विजेता पेस को अखिल भारतीय टेनिस एसोसिएशन (एआईटीए) ने डबल्स में सुमीत नागल के साथ जोड़ी बनाने को कहा था। एआईटीए ने रोहन बोपन्ना और दिविज शरण को जोड़ी बनाने की अनुमति दी थी। पेस एशियाई खेलों में 5 स्वर्ण समेत 8 पदक जीत चुके हैं।

पेस खुद को टॉप्स से हटाए जाने को लेकर भी नाराज चल रहे थे, लेकिन उन्होंने खुद को इंडोनेशिया में होने वाले एशियाई खेलों के लिए उपलब्ध बताया था। पेस ने एशियाई खेलों से हटने के निर्णय के बारे में कहा, मैं एशियाई खेलों में हिस्सा नहीं ले रहा हूं। मेरे द्वारा कई बार अनुरोध करने के बावजूद एआईटीए ने मेरे लिए विशेषज्ञ डबल्स पार्टनर की व्यवस्था नहीं की। हमारे विशेषज्ञ डबल्स खिलाड़़ी श्रीराम बालाजी, विष्णु वर्धन, पूरव राजा और जीवन नेंदुचेझियन अच्छा प्रदर्शन कर रहे हैं और इनमें से किसी एक को एशियाई खेलों के लिए टीम में शामिल किया जाना चाहिए था। भारत के पांच खिलाड़ी – बोपन्ना (32वां क्रम), शरण (38), पेस (79), जीवन नेंदुचेझियनन (88) और पूरव राजा (90) – टॉप 100 रैंकिंग में शामिल है।

पेस ने कहा, मेरे एशियाई खेलों में नहीं खेलने के निर्णय का टीम पर कोई विपरीत असर नहीं पड़ेगा। अन्य खिलाडि़यों को अब ज्यादा इवेंट्सम (डबल्स और मिक्स्ड डबल्स) में खेलने का मौका मिलेगा।

नागपूर : कंत्राटदाराची आत्महत्या, तीन बिल्डरांना अटक

नागपूर : अनमोलनगरमधील जयराम अपार्टमेंटच्या सहाव्या माळ्यावर टाइल्स फिटिंग कंत्राटदाराने विष प्राशन करून आत्महत्या केली. याप्रकरणी नंदनवन पोलिसांनी आत्महत्येसप्रवृत्त केल्याचा गुन्हा दाखल करून तीन बिल्डरांना अटक केली.

हिरेंद्र भाऊराव निमकर (वय ४६, रा. लकडगंज), कमलेश ईश्वरचंद चंदिरमानी (वय ३६) आणि जगदीश दिगंबरभाई पटले (वय ४५, रा. घाट रोड) अशी अटकेतील बिल्डरांची नावे आहेत. तिघेही जयराम बिल्डर्समध्ये भागीदार आहेत. तिघांची तीन दिवस पोलिस कोठडी घेण्यात आली आहे.

संतोष पांडुरंग बावनगडे (वय ६०, रा. विनोबा भावेनगर) असे मृतकाचे नाव आहे. जयराम बिल्डर्सतर्फे जयराम अपार्टमेंटचे बांधकाम सुरू आहे. फ्लॅटमध्ये टाइल्स बसविण्याचे कंत्राट बावनगडे यांच्याकडे होते. बुधवारी नागपंचमी असल्याने बावनगडे यांना मजुरांना पैसे द्यायचे होते. त्यांनी बिल्डरांकडे थकीत पैसे मागितले. ‘फ्लॅटची विक्री झाल्यानंतरच पैसे मिळतील’, असे त्यांनी बावनगडे यांना सांगितले.

बावनगडे यांनी मजुरांना देण्यासाठी दहा हजार रुपये देण्याची विनवणी बिल्डरांना केली. परंतु, तिघांनी त्यांना पैसे दिले नाही. त्यांचा अपमानही केला. मजूर पैशांची मागणी करतील, अशी कल्पना असल्याने बावनगडे यांनी जयराम अपार्टमेंटच्या सहाव्या माळ्यावरील पायऱ्यांवर विष प्राशन केले. तत्पूर्वी आपल्या आत्महत्येस बिल्डर्स जबाबदार असल्याची चिठ्ठी त्यांनी लिहून ठेवली. अन्य मजुरांनी त्यांना हॉस्पिटलमध्ये दाखल केले. डॉक्टरांनी तपासून त्यांना मृत घोषित केले. बावनगडे यांच्याकडे आढळलेल्या चिठ्ठीवरून पोलिसांनी गुन्हा दाखल केला. तिघांना अटक केली. तिघांना गुरुवारी न्यायालयात हजर केले. न्यायालयाने त्यांची तीन दिवस पोलिस कोठडीत रवानगी केली.

पहिल्या आणि दुसऱ्या कसोटीत इंग्लंडच्या तिन्ही अष्टपैलू खेळाडूंनी चमकदार कामगिरी करत भारताला चांगलेच धक्के दिले. पहिल्या कसोटीत बेन स्टोक्सने प्रभावी मारा करत भारताच्या कसलेल्या फलंदाजीला खिंडार पाडले. हेच काम त्याच्या गैरहजेरीत ख्रिस वोक्सने दुसऱ्या कसोटीत केले. याचबरोबत वोक्सने कसोटीतील आपले पहिले शतक झळकावले. यांच्या साथनेच सॅम कुरन या अवघ्या तीन कसोटी खेळलेल्या ऑल राउंडर खेळाडूने पहिल्या कसोटीत भारताच्या पहिल्या डावात ४ गडी बाद केले तर बॅटिंग करताना इंग्लंडच्या दुसऱ्या डावात ६५ धावा केल्या होत्या. त्याच्या या खेळीमुळेच त्याला सामनावीराचा पुरस्कार मिळाला.या उलट भारताचा मध्यमगती गोलंदाज आणि स्फोटक फलंदाज म्हणून ओळखला जाणारा हार्दिक पांड्या जलदगती गोलंदाजीला पोषक वातावरण असणाऱ्या इंग्लंडमध्ये चमकदार कामगिरी करेल असा अंदाज जाणकार करत होते. पण, पांड्याने दोन्ही कसोटीत निराशा केली.

 

हार्दिकच्या या अपयशावर बोट ठेवत हरभजन सिंग म्हणाला की, पांड्याने फलंदाज म्हणून निराशा केली आहे. तसेच गोलंदाजी करताना त्याची कामगिरी म्हणावी तशी झालेली नाही.

गोलंदाज म्हणून कर्णधाराचा त्याच्यावर विश्वास नसल्याचे दिसून येते.’ हरभजन सिंग इंग्लंडच्या तीन ऑल राउंडरचे उदाहरण देत म्हणाला ‘हार्दिक पांड्या जर या अनुकुल वातावरणात गोलंदाजी करु शकत नाही तर त्याचे संघातील स्थान भविष्यात धोक्यात येऊ शकते. आपण त्याच्यावर लावलेला ऑल राउंडर हा टॅग काढून घ्यायला हवा. ज्याप्रमाणे इंग्लंडच्या तिन्ही ऑल राउंडरनी जशी कामगिरी केली तशीच कामगिरी हार्दिक पांड्याकडून अपेक्षित आहे. तो एका रात्रीत कपिल देव होऊ शकत नाही.’

आमचे थोरनेते, राष्ट्रपुरूष श्रद्धेय अटलजी यांचे आपल्यातून निघून जाणे, ही माझी वैयक्तिक हानी आहे! ज्या नेत्यांकडे पाहून आपण राजकारणाची पायरी चढलो, त्या आदर्शापैकी श्रद्धेय अटलजी एक! लोकशाहीत विविध आयुधं वापरून समाजाची आणि समाजातील शेवटच्या घटकाची सेवा कशी करता येऊ शकते, याचा आदर्श वस्तुपाठ त्यांनी आपल्या प्रदीर्घ राजकीय आयुष्यातून घालून दिला. माझी त्यांना भावपूर्ण श्रद्धांजली…

आज माझ्या बालपणीच्या अनेक आठवणी डोळ्यापुढे तरळत आहेत. स्व. प्रमोदजी महाजन यांच्यासमवेत त्यांची झालेली पहिली भेट, त्यानंतर पुढे त्यांचे सातत्याने होत राहिलेले मार्गदर्शन आणि अगदी अलिकडे त्यांच्या निवासस्थानी झालेली भेट, हा सारा स्वप्नवत प्रवास. श्रद्धेय अटलजींच्या अशा अचानक निघून जाण्याने कधीही भरून न निघणारी एक मोठी पोकळी निर्माण झाली आहे.

तन, मन, धनाने राष्ट्रासाठी अगदी सर्वस्व झोकून देणारे आपल्या सर्वांचेच श्रद्धेय अटलजी हे लाडके नेते. संसद असो की एखादी जाहीर सभा, श्रद्धेय अटलजींना ऐकण्यासारखा दुसरा ज्ञानानंद नाही. ज्ञानाचा महासागर, ओघवत्या वक्तृत्वाचे धनी, त्यागाच्या तपस्वी मूर्तीचे जाणे अतिशय वेदनादायी आहे. कधीही न भरून निघणारी ही हानी आहे.

श्रद्धेय अटलजी त्यांच्या विचार, मार्गदर्शनाच्या रूपाने आम्हा सर्वांना सतत प्रेरणा देत राहतील. केवळ गतकाळातील नाही, तर येणार्‍या अनेक पिढयांचेही ते मार्गदर्शक असतील. या राष्ट्रऋषीला माझे कोटी कोटी वंदन. या दु:खातून बाहेर पडणे किंवा त्यांच्या जाण्याने निर्माण झालेली पोकळी भरून काढणे अशक्य आहे!

श्रद्धेय अटलजी हे केवळ भाजपाचे नाही, तर या देशाचे सर्वोच्च नेते होते. ज्या मोजक्या नेत्यांना जगभर आदर-सन्मान प्राप्त झाला, त्यातील अटलजी एक. विश्वमान्यतेच्या अटलजींचे नेतृत्त्व सर्व राजकीय पक्षांमध्ये सुद्धा सर्वमान्य होते.

एक विशाल हृदयाचा, मोठ्या मनाचा नेता सदैव आपल्यासोबत असावा, अशीच आम्हा सर्वांची इच्छा. पण, नियती कधीच कुणाचे ऐकत नाही. आज जेव्हा भारताच्या परमवैभवाचा प्रवास अतिशय गतीने सुरू आहे, त्या काळात या परमवैभवाच्या प्रवासाचा पाया, ज्यांनी रचला ते आपल्यात असते तर त्यापेक्षा आनंदाचा दुसरा क्षण राहिला नसता. पण, नियतीला ते मान्य नाही.
अटलजी एका कवितेत म्हणतात,

ठन गई।
मौत से ठन गई।
मै जी भर जिया, मै मन से मरूँ
लौटकर आऊँगा, कूच से क्यों डरूँ?

अटलजी आपल्यात नाहीत, हे सत्य स्वीकारताना मन कठोर करावेच लागेल. भारतीय जनता पार्टीच्या देशभरातील प्रत्येक कार्यकर्त्याच्या, अटलजींवर ज्यांनी नि:स्सिम प्रेम केले, ते या देशातील तमाम नागरिकांच्या दु:खात मी सहभागी आहे. एकमेकांना धीर देण्याच्या पलिकडे आपल्या हातात तरी काय आहे?
अटल, अढळ, अचल असलेले हे नेतृत्त्व नित्य आपल्यासोबत राहील, विचारांच्या रूपाने, दिशादर्शकाच्या रूपाने, मार्गदर्शकाच्या रूपाने…
माझी भावपूर्ण श्रद्धांजली…

नई दिल्ली : Jio Phone 2 के लिए 15 अगस्त को दोपहर 12 बजे पहली फ्लैश का आयोजन किया गया। इस सेल में नया Jio फोन 2 करीब आधे घंटे तक बिक्री के लिए उपलब्ध था।

जियो अपने नए फीचर फोन को फ्लैश सेल मॉडल के तहत उपलब्ध करा रही है। Jio.com पर आए नए बैनर से खुलासा होता है कि जियो फोन 2 के लिए अगली सेल 30 अगस्त, गुरुवार को होगी। बुधवार की तरह ही 30 अगस्त को होने वाली फ्लैश सेल भी दोपहर 12 बजे आयोजित होगी। बता दे कि रिलायंस इंडस्ट्रीज़ के चेयरमैन मुकेश अंबानी ने कंपनी की 41वीं सालाना आम बैठक में जियो फोन 2 और Jio GigaFiber का ऐलान किया था।

जियो फोन 2 की कीमत 2,999 रुपये है और कंपनी अपने पहले 4जी फीचर फोन के साथ रिफंड जैसा कोई विकल्प नहीं दे रही है।

जियो फोन 2 में 2.4 इंच क्यूवीजीए डिस्प्ले है और यह ड्यूल सिम सपॉर्ट करता है। Jio Phone में 512 एमबी रैम व 4 जीबी इनबिल्ट स्टोरेज है। स्टोरेज को माइक्रोएसडी कार्ड के जरिए 128 जीबी तक बढ़ा सकते हैं।

फोन में 2 मेगापिक्सल रियर व वीजीएस फ्रंट कैमरा दिया गया है। फोन काई ओएस पर चलता है। इसे पावर देने के लिए 2000 एमएएच की बैटरी दी गई है। जियो फोन 2 में वॉयस कमांडिस के लिए एक अलग बटन दिया गया है जिससे गूगल असिस्टेंट तुरंत ऐक्टिवेट हो जाता है। फोन में 4जी वीओएलटीई, ब्लूटूथ, जीपीएस, एनएफसी और एफएम रेडियो जैसे फीचर्स हैं।

पिछले साल आए Jio फोन से तुलना करें तो नए जियो फोन में काफी कुछ अलग है। इसमें ब्लैकबेरी के फोन्स की तरह 4-वे नेविगेशन बटन्स दिए गए हैं। डिस्प्ले पहले से बड़ी है और हॉरिज़ॉन्टल व्यू सपॉर्ट करता है। Jio Phone 2 वॉट्सऐप और यूट्यूब जैसे सपॉर्ट भी मिलेंगे।
