हम सभी को शैशव, बाल,युवा और अधेड़ अवस्था से होते हुए वृद्धावस्था तक पहुंचना होता है । वृद्ध होने पर हमारा शरीर कमजोर हो जाता है । इंद्रिय व शारीरिक चेतना शिथिल होकर व्यक्ति दूसरों पर निर्भर होने लगता है। ऐसे में यदि घर वालों की ओर से उपेक्षा और उपहास मिले तो जीवन, नरक सा प्रतीत होने लगता है । वृद्धजनों की न कोई खास इच्छा नहीं होती और न ही कोई अधिक खर्च होता है । उनकी एक ही चाहत होती है कि उनके बच्चे, उनके परिवार के सदस्य और परिचय के लोग उनकी अवहेलना और उपेक्षा न करें । उन्हें थोड़ा प्यार दें, सम्मान दें और बदले में भरपूर आशीर्वाद लें । थोड़ा प्यार और अपनेपन की चाहत उनमें भी होती है । लेकिन उनकी इस भावनात्मक चाहत की पूर्ति भी शायद ही पूरी हो पाती है । क्योंकि आज आंकड़े बताते हैं कि बुजुर्ग व्यक्ति अपने ही घर परिवार में सबसे अधिक उपेक्षा का दंश झेल रहे हैं ।
वास्तव में बुजुर्ग व्यक्तियों की परिवार में अनदेखी करना अपने ही पैरों पर कुल्हाड़ी मारने जैसा है । यह काम हम जिस डाल पर बैठे हैं उसी को काटने जैसा है। बुजुर्गों का तिरस्कार करते समय भूल जाते हैं कि एक दिन उन्हें भी इस अवस्था से गुजरना है ।
याद रहे आज जो अपने बुजुर्गों से अच्छा व्यवहार नहीं कर रहे हैं वे अपने भविष्य के लिए कांटे ही बो रहे हैं, जिस पर कल उन्हें भी चलना पड़ेगा । इस बात को कभी भूल नहीं और अपने घर के बड़े-बुज़ुर्गों से प्यार करें उन्हें अपनापन दें ।

यावेळी नागपूरचे माजी महापौर अटलबहादूर सिंग यांचा क्रीडा क्षेत्रातील भरीव कामगिरीबद्दल नागपूर क्रीडा महर्षी पुरस्काराने मान्यवरांच्या हस्ते गौरव करण्यात आला.मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस म्हणाले, खेळाच्या माध्यमातून सुदृढ व निकोप समाजाची निर्मिती होत असून खेळामुळेच खिलाडूवृत्ती व चिकाटी निर्माण होते. नागपूर शहराला नामवंत खेळाडू, क्रीडा प्रशिक्षक व क्रीडा संघटक यांची उज्वल परंपरा लाभली असून नागपूर क्रीडानगरी म्हणूनही प्रसिद्ध आहे. विविध राष्ट्रीय- आंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रीडा स्पर्धांमध्ये खेळाडूंनी यश मिळविण्यासाठी नागपुरातील क्रीडा प्रशिक्षक व क्रीडा संघटक अथक परिश्रम घेत आहेत. नुकत्याच झालेल्या आशियाई क्रीडा स्पर्धांमध्येही देशातील खेळाडूंनी दर्जेदार प्रदर्शन केले. हे सर्व खेळाडू ग्रामीण भागातून पुढे आलेले व प्रतिकूल परिस्थितीवर मात करुन आपले स्वप्न पूर्ण केलेले खेळाडू आहेत. या सर्व खेळाडूंनी देशाचा गौरव वाढविला आहे.

खासदार क्रीडा महोत्सवाचे संयोजक व लघु उद्योग विकास महामंडळाचे अध्यक्ष संदीप जोशी यांनी प्रास्ताविक केले. पुढील वर्षीच्या खासदार क्रीडा महोत्सवाचे आयोजन 12 ते 27 जानेवारी 2019 दरम्यान करण्यात येणार असल्याची घोषणाही यावेळी करण्यात आली. आभार माजी महापौर प्रवीण दटके यांनी मानले.
Card processing fees revised by State Bank of India
New Delhi: The State Bank of India (SBI) has lowered the ATM cash withdrawal limit to Rs 20,000 a day from Rs 40,000. According to a report, the lower limit will be effective from October 31, in view of spurt in fraudulent transactions at ATMs and to encourage digital and cashless transactions.
“In view of the increase in the number of complaints received by banks around fraudulent transactions at ATMs and to encourage digital and cashless transactions, it has been decided to decrease the cash withdrawal limits of debit cards issued or being issued on ‘Classic’ and ‘Maestro’ platforms,” said SBI
The restriction comes weeks before the festive season.
SBI managing director PK Gupta told , “Our internal analysis shows most actual withdrawals are of smaller amounts. So, Rs 20,000 should be adequate for most customers. We are trying to see whether smaller withdrawals could minimize frauds.
He said customers with a requirement for more can ask for card variants that offer higher withdrawal limits. Such cards are issued to those keeping a higher minimum balance in their bank accounts.
Meanwhile, people’s demand for cash continues to head northwards, despite frequency of digital transactions going up. A Reserve Bank of India (RBI) data in April 2018 revealed that people’s demand for cash was 7 per cent higher at Rs 18.25 trillion at the end of April compared to Rs 17 trillion at the beginning of November 2016. As of May 2018, banks have distributed a total of 37.5 million credit cards and 861 million debit cards.
In August, the Home Ministry notified that no ATM would be replenished wish cash after 9 pm in cities and 6 pm in rural areas from next year even as two armed guards will accompany crisp notes in transit.
The deadline for putting money in the ATMs located in Naxal-hit areas will be 4 pm while private cash handling agencies have to collect money from the banks in the first half of the day and transport notes only in armoured vehicles. This, the Home Ministry said would come into effect from February 8, 2019 in view of the spurt in incidents of attacks on cash vans, cash vaults, ATM frauds and other internal frauds leading to increased sense of insecurity.
नागपूर- एकतर्फी प्रेमाच्या प्रकरणातून युवकाने युवतीच्या अंगावर कार नेऊन तिला ठार मारल्याची घटना नागपुरात शनिवारी मध्यरात्रीनंतर घडली. पोलिसांनी अनिकेत साळवे नामक आरोपीस अटक केली. त्याचे तीन साथीदार फरार आहेत.
अनिकेतचे त्याच्या घराजवळील मयूरी हिंगणेकर या तरुणीशी एकतर्फी प्रेमसंबंध होते. तो सारखा तिच्या मागे लागला होता. मयूरी सातत्याने त्याला नकार देत होती. त्यामुळे संतापलेल्या अनिकेतने तिचा काटा काढण्याचे ठरवले. शनिवारी मयूरी तिचा मित्र अक्षय नगरधनेच्या दुचाकीवर बसून बाहेर गेली होती. रात्री ती त्याच्यासह परतत असताना गांधीसागर तलावाजवळ अनिकेत व त्याच्या मित्रांनी भरधाव कारने त्यांच्या दुचाकीला धडक दिली. या घटनेत गंभीर जखमी होऊन मयूरी मृत्युमुखी पडली तर तिचा मित्र अक्षय हा जखमी झाला. रविवारी तिच्या नातेवाइकांनी दिलेली तक्रार आणि अक्षयच्या जबाबावरून पोलिसांनी रविवारी सायंकाळी अनिकेत व त्याच्या साथीदारांवर खुनाचा गुन्हा दाखल केला आहे. अनिकेतला अटक झाली असून त्याचे मित्र फरार आहेत.

Nagpur: The citizens of Second Capital City of Nagpur would soon witness the ‘gigantic infrastructure blunder’ called Railways Station Flyover to be demolished as the special general body meeting of Nagpur Municipal Corporation approved the proposal amid heated exchange of words between ruling and opposition members.
The special general body meeting of NMC was held on Saturday, September 29, at Town Hall, Mahal. Mayor Nanda Jichkar chaired the meeting. NMC has decided to demolish Railway Station Flyover situated in front of Ganesh Tekadi creating huge problem for smooth flow of traffic. NMC will assign the demolition work to Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) having the requisite expertise. Maha Metro will develop 6 lane road from Jaistambh to ‘Loha Pul’ to decongest the traffic.
As the subject was taken up for discussion, the Leader of Opposition Tanaji Vanve demanded to hand over the entire task of demolition of flyoverand widening of the road to Maha Metro so that the problem will be solved at one go. “We are not opposed to development but nobody should be deprived of livelihood.
First the over 75 shopkeepers who have established their shops under the flyover should be rehabilitated suitably then only the proposal to demolish the flyover be approved. It was the disastrous decision to construct the flyover in front of Railway Station. The shopkeepers should be rehabilitated on the lines of Khowa and Paan Market,” he demanded.
After the short discussion, voting was held for the approval of the proposal. The voting showed 92 votes in favour of the proposal while 23 members voted against the proposal. Based on the majority, the Mayor announced approval of the proposal.
The flyover was constructed in the year 2008 and around 175 shops and a sulabh shauchalaya is situated its beneath. VNIT’s technical consultant suggested measures to avoid traffic chaos after opening of second phase of Ram Jhula. Railway Station shopkeepers have also supported the demolition of the flyover. They have demanded to rehabilitate them near railway station. They said that around 175 shops were constructed by the local body in the year 2008. However, only 100 shops are in working while remaining shops are closed. The shopkeepers had obtained loan from the banks for the purchase of shops from NMC and now, they do not have other sources to repay the loan and for their livelihood, they said
The subject of development of Orange City Street from Hotel Radisson Blu to Jaitala was also taken up in the special general body meeting. NMC has 30.49 hectare land over this stretch and Maha Metro will develop the land in phase-wise manner.
NMC will also transfer Netaji Market to Maha Metro for the construction of a station and commercial complex. NMC has already allotted school land situated at Munje Square to Metro.
Similarly, the issue of widening of Kelibag Road to CP and Berar College was also taken up. NMC has proposed 24 meter road to be constructed with an expenditure of Rs 122.14 crore. The State Government will contribute 70 per cent of the fund under Suvarna Jayant Nagarotthan Mahaabhiyan while remaining 30 per cent will born by NMC. The former Mayor Pravin Datke demanded that the 30 percent amount being borne by NMC should also be sought from Suvarna Jayant Nagarotthan Mahaabhiyan. He asked to prepare a proposal in this regard.
Raj Kapoor’s wife Krishna Raj Kapoor passed away early Monday morning. She was 87. Krishna Raj, who tied the knot with Raj Kapoor in May 1946, is survived by her children, Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Rajiv Kapoor, Ritu Nanda and Reema Kapoor. She passed away due to cardiac arrest.
Randhir, affectionately known as Daboo in the family, issued a statement, saying, “I regret to announce that I lost my mother early this morning. She died peacefully.”

आ. सुधाकर देशमुख यांनी डॉ. श्रीकांत जिचकार यांच्या ज्ञानाच्या आणि कार्याच्या गोष्टींना उजाळा देत अनेक प्रेरणादायी अनुभव सांगितले. साधी राहणी, उच्च विचार असलेले डॉ. श्रीकांत जिचकार यांनी राजकारणात ज्ञानाचा आणि संसदीय आयुधांचा वापर करून आपल्या कार्याचा त्यांनी ठसा उमटविला. आजच्या अनेक काँग्रेस नेत्यांना त्यांनी घडविले आहे. त्यांच्या मागे मोठा जनसमूह होता. डॉ. श्रीकांत जिचकार खऱ्या अर्थाने हिंदुत्व जगले. कुशल संघटक, कुशल राजकारणी आणि कुशल समाजकारण या शब्दात आ. सुधाकर देशमुख यांनी त्यांचा गौरव केला. चौकाचे नामकरण झाले, मात्र आता परिसरातील नागरिकांनी त्यांच्या निवासी पत्त्यावर नवे नाव टाकले तर खऱ्या अर्थाने डॉ. श्रीकांत जिचकार यांच्याप्रति कृतज्ञता व्यक्त करणे ठरेल.

नागपूर : देशातील वाढते आतंकवादी हल्ले, परकीय राष्ट्रांमधून होणारी घुसखोरी या सर्व कारवायांसाठी सर्जिकल स्ट्राईक हे चोख उत्तर ठरले. भारतीय सैन्याच्या या पराक्रमामुळे देशाची आंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तरावर प्रतिमा उंचावली. सर्जिकल स्ट्राईक ही येणाऱ्या प्रत्येक पिढीला प्रेरणा देणारी बाब आहे, असे गौरवोद्गार महापौर नंदा जिचकार यांनी काढले.
पाकिस्तान विरोधात भारतीय सैन्यामार्फत करण्यात आलेल्या सर्जिकल स्ट्राईकला दोन वर्ष पूर्ण झाली. त्यानिमित्ताने शहरातील अंबाझरी उद्यानात ‘पराक्रम पर्व’ साजरा करण्यात आला. यावेळी महापौर नंदा जिचकार यांच्यासह सत्तापक्ष उपनेत्या वर्षा ठाकरे, विजय होले, रवि हलकंदर, गुंडूभाऊ मसुरकर, मनिष गेडाम, विनोद चवरे, संगीता चंद्रायण, कविता देशमुख, रश्मी नसीने, योगिता धार्मिक, अनुसया गुप्ता आदी उपस्थित होते.
२९ सप्टेंबर २०१६ ला दोन वर्षापूर्वी भारतीय सैन्याने आपल्या देशात घुसखोरी करून देशात आतंकवादी कारवाया करीत देशाच्या सुरक्षेला आव्हान देणाऱ्यांचे तोंड बंद केले. सीमेवर अहोरात्र देशाचे रक्षण करणाऱ्या सैन्याने केलेली ही कामगिरी प्रत्येकासाठी प्रेरणादायी आहे. सैन्याच्या या पराक्रमामुळे अनेक तरुणांच्या मनात देशरक्षणाची बिजे रोवली गेली. देशाच्या भवितव्याची धुरा असणाऱ्या तरुणाईने आपण भारतीय असल्याचा अभिमान बाळगावा व आपल्या कार्यामुळे देशाचे नाव लौकीक होईल, असेच कार्य करावे, असे आवाहनही महापौर नंदा जिचकार यांनी यावेळी केले.
देशाच्या सीमेवर शत्रुकडून येणारी गोळी झेलून त्याला प्रत्युत्तर देण्यास तत्पर असणाऱ्या सैन्यामुळे आपण घरामध्ये सुखाने राहू शकतो. भारतीय सैनिक हेच देशातील खरे हिरो आहेत. तिरंग्याच्या सन्मानासाठी प्राण पणाला लावणाऱ्या आपल्या सैन्यांचा प्रत्येकाने आदर राखावा, असेही महापौर नंदा जिचकार यावेळी म्हणाल्या. कार्यक्रमाला अंबाझरी परिसरातील नागरिकांसह, उद्यानातील कर्मचारी मोठ्या संख्येत उपस्थित होते.

Nagpur: Axis Bank, India’s third largest private sector bank, today inaugurated its 117th branch in Nagpur region at Ravi Nagar. Shri Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India, inaugurated the branch along with Shri Sanjay Silas, President & Head Branch Banking, Axis Bank. The branch will offer a comprehensive range of banking services like accounts (savings and current accounts), deposits, loans, locker facilities, etc. to its customers.

Nagpur : Giving an impetus to the art fabric of city, the Chief Minister has approved Jagnade Maharaj Bhuvan project which will comprise an art gallery and library focusing on Santaji Jagnade Maharaj. The project will be constructed at Jagnade Square in East Nagpur.
BJP MLA from East Nagpur Krishna Khopde informed that Fadnavis released Rs1 crore of total estimated cost of Rs3.05 crore on September 24. “Fadnavis had assured to approve the project at the birth anniversary celebrations programme of the Maharaj.
Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) will develop the project. “NIT through architect Swapnil Warbhe prepared design of the building. Of total area of 8,000 sq ft, the building with have built up area of 3,534.52 sq ft and necessary infrastructure will come up at an estimated cost of Rs3.05 crore,” he said.
Khopde said it will be the first project related to Santaji Jagnade Maharaj in the city. He expressed gratitudes towards union minister Nitin Gadkari and guardian minister Chandrashekar Bawankule for pursuing the project.
लखनऊ – उत्तर प्रदेश पोलिसांनी रात्री उशीरा आयफोन बनवणाऱ्या अॅपल कंपनीच्या अधिकाऱ्यावर गोळ्या झाडल्या. ही घटना लखनौमध्ये शुक्रवार आणि शनिवारच्या मध्यरात्री घडली. एका चेक पोस्टवर पोलिसांनी त्याची एसयूव्ही थांबवण्याचा प्रयत्न केला. परंतु, त्याने नकार दिला. त्याचवेळी पोलिसांनी त्याला गुन्हेगार समजून गोळ्या झाडल्या. गाडी चालवणाऱ्याचे नाव विवेक तिवारी (38) असे होते. तो अॅपल कंपनीचा एरिआ मॅनेजर होता.
विवेकला गंभीर जखमी अवस्थेत उपचारासाठी रुग्णालयात दाखल करण्यात आले. परंतु, शनिवारी सकाळी उपचार सुरू असताना त्याचा मृत्यू झाला. पोलिसांनी दिलेल्या माहितीनुसार, ड्रायव्हर आपल्या माजी सहकाऱ्यासोबत येत होता. गस्तीवर असलेल्या पोलिसांनी त्यांना गाडी थांबवण्यास सांगितले. परंतु, तिवारी काही थांबला नाही. यानंतर बाइकवर त्यांचा पाठलाग करणाऱ्या पोलिसांना सुद्धा त्याने धडक दिली.
पोलिस काँस्टेबल प्रशांत कुमार यांनी तिवारीवर फायरिंग केली. “कुमार यांनी सांगितले, की त्यावेळी पथदिवे बंद होते आणि रस्त्यावर खूप आंधार होता. त्याचवेळी आम्ही एका एसयूव्हीजवळ पोहोचलो. कार थांबलेली होती. आम्ही आमची बाइक कारच्या थेट समोर लावली. त्याचवेळी अचानक ड्रायव्हरने कार सुरू केली आणि आमच्या बाइकला धडक देऊन पळून जाण्याचा प्रयत्न केला. आम्ही त्याला अडवण्याचाही प्रयत्न केला. परंतु, त्याने कार रिव्हर्स घेतली आणि पुन्हा आम्हाला धडक दिली. यानंतरही आम्ही त्यांना बाहेर येण्यास सांगितले. तेव्हा पुन्हा फुल स्पीडने ड्रायव्हरने कार रिव्हर्स घेतली आणि आणखी जोरदार धडक दिली. मी खाली पडलो होतो. यानंतर त्याला भीती दाखवण्यासाठी मी पिस्तुल बाहेर काढली. हे पाहून त्याने परत गाडी माझ्या अंगावरून नेण्याचा प्रयत्न केला. त्याचवेळी आत्मरक्षणासाठी मला फायरिंग करावी लागली.”
New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated a conference, where Vice Chancellors and Directors of over 350 higher education institutions participated.
In his address PM Modi said that in our ancient universities like Nalanda, Vikramshila and Takshashila both knowledge and innovation were equal given importance.
PM Narendra Modi while addressing the Conference in Academic Leadership on Education for Resurgence at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi also talked about Innovation adding that it is very important because without it, life seems like a burden. Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar and others also attended the event.
The ‘Conference on Academic Leadership on Education for Resurgence’ was conducted by the Indira Gandhi national Open University(IGNOU) and the Research for Resurgence Foundation – a sister-concern of the RSS-affiliated Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal.
Speaking about his govt initiatives, PM Modi said that current Government is focusing to invest in the field of education to improve the infrastructure of education. He added that RISE (Rivitalisation of Infrastructure Systems) has been introduced in education programmes and India aim to spend Rs 1 lakh crore by 2022.
The theme of the conference focused on the challenges facing the Indian education system and to work out a plan for a pattern shift both in terms of achieving academic outcomes and also in regulation of education, the Ministry of Human Resource Development said.

महापालिकेच्या स्मार्ट सिटी प्रकल्पाअंतर्गत शहरातील विविध चौकांमध्ये ४९ डिजिटल फलक लावण्यात आले. यातील दहा फलकांमध्ये हवेची गुणवत्ता दर्शवणारी माहिती देखील प्रदर्शित करण्यात येते. याकरिता महापालिकेने एल अँड टी कंपनीसोबत पाच वर्षांचा करार केला.
मात्र, अवघ्या वर्षभरात या फलकांनी शहर स्मार्ट करण्याऐवजी स्मार्ट शहराचा आलेख मात्र खाली आणण्यास सुरुवात केली आहे. शहरातील हवेची गुणवत्ता आणि कल याची माहिती व्हावी, आरोग्याला बाधा पोहोचण्यापूर्वीच प्रदूषणाची माहिती कळावी, उद्योग आणि नगर रचनेत मदत मिळावी, हा हे फलक लावण्यामागील उद्देश होता. मात्र, त्यातही खाली जाहिराती आणि वर हवेची गुणवत्ता दर्शवणारे घटक त्यात नोंदवले जात होते.
आता तर योग्य देखरेखी अभावी अनेक फलकांची दैना झालेली आहे. विशेष म्हणजे, ज्याठिकाणी वाहतुकीचे प्रमाण अधिक, गर्दीचे प्रमाण अधिक, प्रदूषणाची शक्यता अधिक अशा ठिकाणी ते लावले जाणे अपेक्षित होते. मात्र, मूळ उद्देशाला फाटा देण्यात आला. याउलट बिहारमधील पटना, मध्यप्रदेशातील भोपाळ यासारख्या शहरातील डिजिटल फलक उद्देश कायम राखून काम करत आहेत.
वायूची गुणवत्ता मनुष्य आणि पर्यावरणासाठी हानीकारक ठरत असल्याचे दाखवत असेल तर प्रदूषणासाठी कारणीभूत ठरणाऱ्या विभागावर कारवाईचे अधिकार पटना येथे प्रदूषण मंडळाला दिले आहेत. कारखान्यामुळे होणाऱ्या प्रदूषणाची माहिती फलकावर आल्यामुळे त्यावर नियंत्रण ठेवण्यास सोपे जावे यासाठी ‘ऑनलाईन मॉनिटरिंग’ची व्यवस्था देखील भोपाळमध्ये करण्यात आली आहे. मात्र, उपराजधानीत याच्या अगदी उलट चित्र आहे.

Nagpur : In a crackdown, a special squad of police led by Zone 4 DCP Nilesh Bharne intercepted more than 12 trucks transporting illegally mined sand at various places in Dighori area here on Friday.

Nagpur : Out of the six companies that had shown interest in bids for privatisation of Nagpur Airport, opened up by Mihan India Limited (MIL), only two infrastructure companies – GMR and GVK have eventually placed bids on Friday.
The former quoted a higher amount than the latter. It is learnt that six players were qualified to take part in the airport privatization process.
These include GVK, GMR, Ideal Road Builders (IRB), Tata Group, PNC Infrastructure and Essel Group. Out of these, IRB had backed off at the initial stage itself. Other companies, except Tatas, took part in most of the pre-bid talks. Finally, only two companies have bid now.
The companies had to quote a percentage of revenue to be shared with MIL, the current operator. It has been learnt that both the participants have quoted a single digit percentage share, even as a higher share was expected to be quoted. Sources said if it is to be compared with the larger airports, the private parties have quoted revenue share ranging from 30% to 35%. A number of conditions were eased at the insistence of the private players.
The successful bidder will have to pump in Rs 1,685 crore as 74% equity for development of Nagpur airport infrastructure. During pre-bid negotiations, the bidders successfully bargained for increasing the timeline for constructing a second runway. The second runway will be built four years later instead of soon after the takeover by the private company.
The time frame for city side real estate development too has been reduced to two years as against six earlier. This will help the bidders unlock the real estate potential of the area around airport. Delaying the second runway construction will save an expenditure of around Rs 300 crore for the private partner, said sources.
The successful bidder will be acting as strategic partner along with MIL, which is a joint venture between the state government’s Maharashtra Airport Development Company and Airports Authority of India.

NAGPUR : In-form city shuttlers Malvika Bansod and Rashi Lambe stormed into the quarterfinals in the Yonex-Sunrise 27th Smt Krishna Khaitan Memorial All India Junior (U-19) Ranking Badminton tournament at Panchkula on Friday.
According to reports, both Malvika and Rashi carved out two facile victories in their respective categories to reach the last eight.
Second seed Malvika, winner of the last week tourney at Chandigarh, started the day on a bright note by dismissing Delhi qualifier Khushi Gupta 21-6, 21-14 in just 26 minutes.
Southpaw Malvika dominated the entire match and taught a lesson or two to her Delhi opponent.
Later in the day, Malvika again accounted for Delhi player. The 17-year-old Malvika overcame the late fightback from Ananya Goel to post a 21-8, 24-22 win in 40 minutes.
Dubai: India retained the Asia Cup with a three-wicket win off the last ball against a fighting Bangladesh who were anchored by a maiden hundred from opener Liton Das in Dubai on Friday.
India made heavy weather of a modest 223-run target as Bangladesh fought for every run before the title holders achieved victory off the last ball watched by a capacity 25,000 holiday crowd at Dubai stadium.
Das held the innings together during his 117-ball 121 which featured a dozen boundaries and two sixes but Bangladesh, who were put into bat, were all out in 48.3 overs despite a solid opening stand of 120 with Mehidy Hasan.
With their settled opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan, India were expected to run away with victory, like they did in the previous matches but Bangladesh were not ready to give up without a fight.
Dhawan was dismissed for 15 and Sharma for a punishing 55-ball 48, studded with three sixes and as many boundaries. Dinesh Karthik (37) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (36) added 54 for the fourth wicket but once both were dismissed Bangladesh looked like pulling off an upset. Ravindra Jadeja (23) and Bhuvenshwar Kumar (21) brought the target within India’s reach through a 45-run stand for the sixth wicket but Bangladesh removed them both with eight runs still needed.

Our Nation has Mahatma Gandhi as Father of the Nation, Peacock as National Bird, but Hindi is Official Language (Rajbhasha) but not National Language (Rashtra Bhasha) opined by the experts at the Hindi Fortnight Celebrations of IGNOU Nagpur Regional Centre.
As per the annual practice, this year also IGNOU Regional Centre, Nagpur celebrated the Hindi Fortnight-2018 with the committed spirit. Various competitions like Shabd Rachna, Hindi Noting, Hindi Typing and Debate competitions were held for the Regional Centre and all local Study Centre functionaries. The winners were felicitated at concluding function held at the Regional Centre. Shri Niranjan Kumar Baranwal, Member Secvretary, Rajbhasha Karyanvayan Samiti (Bank) Nagpur was the Chief Guest and Dr. Ashish Dubey, Sub Editor, Lokmat Samachar was the Guest of Honour.
Dr. P. Sivaswaroop, IGNOU Regional Director in his Presidential Address said that Hindi is moving towards becoming a Global language. To make it more acceptable to majority, simple words be used.
Shri Niranjan Kumar Baranwal in his address congratulated IGNOU for all the activities and said that Hindi Pakhwada is a Mile stone activity in Rajbhasha implementation. He said that in our country the language and dialect changes over distance. So people argue which Hindi is best? So the Rajbhasha adopts common man’s Hindi and even it includes some of English and other languages word also. He requested IGNOU to launch a course on “official language Implementation”
Dr. Ashish Dubey in his address said that in our country may Regional languages are spoken. Each language is unique and beautiful. Hindi is best option to connect people and for common communication among them. That’s why Hindi has become ‘Rajbhasha’ (official language) rather than ‘Rashtra Bhasha’ (National Language). Because for National status, it should be only one and unique, like Father of the Nation, National Bird. For National language, it should have replaced all other languages and be unique. But believing in the “Unity in Diversity” Spirit of the country, Hindi is made “Official language”
Prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions. Some of the winners include Mr. Rajesh Wasnik, Mr. C.h.Rajgure, Mr. B.S. नागपूर : ताजबागमध्ये ३ ऑक्टोबरपासून उर्स सुरू होत आहे. देशभरातून लाखो भाविक उर्समध्ये सहभागी होत असतात. त्यासाठी महापालिका प्रशासनाद्वारे करण्यात आलेल्या व्यवस्थेचा आढावा शुक्रवारी (ता.२८) महापौर नंदा जिचकार यांनी मनपा मुख्यालयातील डॉ.पंजाबराव देशमुख स्मृती सभागृहात घेतला.
बैठकीला उपमहापौर दीपराज पार्डीकर, प्रभारी आयुक्त रवींद्र ठाकरे, मनपातील सत्तापक्ष प्रतोद दिव्या धुरडे, वैद्यकीय सेवा व आरोग्य समिती सभापती मनोज चापले, क्रीडा समिती सभापती नागेश सहारे, नेहरूनगर झोन सभापती रिता मुळे, नगरसेविका स्नेहल बिहारे, ज्येष्ठ नगरसेवक सुनील अग्रवाल, अतिरिक्त आयुक्त राम जोशी, अतिरिक्त आयुक्त अझीझ शेख, उपायुक्त राजेश मोहिते, कार्यकारी अभियंता (विद्युत) संजय जैस्वाल, आरोग्य अधिकारी (स्वच्छता) डॉ.प्रदीप दासरवार, मुख्य अग्निशमन अधिकारी राजेंद्र उचके, नेहरूनगर झोन सभापती राजेश कराडे, वैद्यकीय अधिकारी डॉ.विजय जोशी, ताजबागचे प्रशासक जी.एम.कुबडे, सचिव अब्दुल रज्जाक ताजी प्रामुख्याने उपस्थित होते.
यावेळी महापौरांनी संबंधित अधिकाऱ्यांकडून आढावा घेतला. ताजबाग परिसरात सद्यस्थितीत सुरू असलेल्या पाणीपुरवठा व्यतिरिक्त उर्स कालावधीत दोन हजार लिटर क्षमतेच्या एकूण आठ पी.व्ही.सी. पाण्याच्या टाक्या विविध ठिकाणी ठेवण्यात येणार असल्याची माहिती जलप्रदाय विभागाकडून देण्यात आली. उर्स कालावधीत भाविकांना पिण्याच्या पाण्यासाठी गैरसोय होऊ नये याकरिता दररोज एकूण ६० टँकरने पाणी पुरवठा करण्यात येणार असल्याचेही त्यांनी सांगितले. पाण्याचा प्रश्नावर बोलताना महापौरांनी पिण्याच्या पाण्यासंदर्भात कायमस्वरूपी उपाययोजना करण्यात याव्या, असे आदेश दिले.
स्वच्छता विभागाद्वारे महिला व पुरूषांसाठी प्रत्येकी ५० अस्थायी स्वरूपाचे शौचालय बांधण्यात येणार असल्याची माहिती आरोग्य अधिकारी (स्वच्छता) डॉ.प्रदीप दासरवार यांनी दिली. याव्यतिरिक्त चार मोबाईल शौचालयाची व्यवस्था परिसरात करण्यात येणार आहे. स्वच्छता विभागाचे कर्मचारी तीन शिफ्टमध्ये २४ तास काम करणार असल्याची माहिती त्यांनी यावेळी दिली. दोन ठिकाणी ओपीडीची व्यवस्था करण्यात यावी, असे निर्देश महापौर नंदा जिचकार यांनी दिले. उर्स दरम्यान ३, ७ आणि १० ऑक्टोबरला भाविकांची गर्दी मोठ्या प्रमाणावर असणार असल्याची माहिती ताजबाग प्रशासनाद्वारे देण्यात आली.
विद्युत विभागाद्वारे परिसरात १८० हॅलोजन व पाच जनरेटरची व्यवस्था करण्यात येणार आहे. परिसरातील रस्त्यांवरचे पथदिवे सतत सुरू ठेवण्याकरिता आवश्यक कार्यवाही सुरू आहे. उमरेड महामार्गावरील बंद असलेले पथदिवे सुरू करण्यात आले असल्याची माहिती कार्यकारी अभियंता (विद्युत) संजय जैस्वाल यांनी दिली.
आरोग्य विभागाद्वारे परिसरात २४ तास दोन रूग्णवाहिका तैनात राहणार आहे. यासोबतच डॉक्टर्सची चमू तीन शिफ्टमध्ये राहणार असल्याची माहिती वैद्यकीय अधिकारी डॉ. वजय जोशी यांनी दिली. यावेळी भाविकांसाठी नि:शुल्क औषधेसुद्धा देण्यात येणार असल्याची माहिती त्यांनी दिली. उमरेड रोडवरील रस्त्यावर असलेल्या खड्डे तातडीने बुजवण्यात यावे, असेही नर्देश महापौर नंदा जचकार यांनी दले.
नागपूर : डेंग्यूमुळे नागरिकांच्या मनात भीती असून साधारण तापाच्या उपचारासाठी खासगी दवाखान्यात जाणाऱ्या रुग्णांना डेंग्यूची भीती दाखवून रुग्णांकडून पैसे उकळणाऱ्या खासगी रुग्णालयांवर कारवाई करा, असे निर्देश आरोग्य समिती सभापती मनोज चापले यांनी दिले.
आरोग्य समितीच्या झोननिहाय बैठकीअंतर्गत शुक्रवारी (ता. २८) सतरंजीपुरा व लकडगंज झोन कार्यालयात आढावा बैठक घेण्यात आली. बैठकीला आरोग्य समिती सभापती मनोज चापले यांच्यासह सतरंजीपुरा झोनच्या सभापती यशश्री नंदनवार, नगरसेवक संजय महाजन, संजय चावरे, नगरसेविका अभिरुची राजगिरे, शकुंतला पारवे, वंदना चांदेकर, सतरंजीपुरा झोनचे सहायक आयुक्त प्रकाश वराडे, लकडगंज झोनमध्ये नगरसेवक प्रदीप पोहाणे, अनिल गेंडरे, नगरसेविका मनिषा धावडे, सरिता कावरे, जयश्री रारोकर, झोनचे आरोग्य अधिकारी डॉ. मोवाडे उपस्थित होते.खासगी रुग्णालयांकडून मोठ्या प्रमाणात डेंग्यूच्या भीतीचा प्रचार केला जात आहे. रुग्णांकडून जास्तीत जास्त पैसे उकळण्यासाठीचा हा खासगी रुग्णालयांचा फंडा आहे. साधारण तापासाठी तपासणीकरिता खासगी रुग्णालयात रुग्ण गेल्यास त्याला डेंग्यूचे लक्षण असल्याचे सांगून भरती केले जाते. त्यानंतर महागड्या चाचण्या करून रुग्णांची आर्थिकदृष्ट्या लूट केली जाते. मात्र खासगी रुग्णालयांमधून ज्या प्रकारे भीतीचा प्रचार केला जात आहे, त्यामुळे नागरिकांमध्ये अधिकच भीतीचे वातावरण निर्माण होत आहे. अशा खासगी रुग्णालयांकडून डेंग्यूबाबत महानगरपालिकेला अहवालही सादर केला जात नाही.
या खासगी रुग्णालयांना अहवाल सादर करण्याचे आदेश देण्यात यावे व डेंग्यूच्या नावावर नागरिकांची लूबाडणूक करणाऱ्या खासगी रुग्णालयांवर कारवाई करण्यात यावे, असे यावेळी आरोग्य समिती सभापती मनोज चापले यांनी निर्देशित केले.
बैठकीमध्ये आरोग्य सभापती मनोज चापले यांनी सतरंजीपुरा व लकडगंज झोनमधील डेंग्यूच्या उपाययोजनांचा आढावा घेतला. फवारणीसाठी वेळापत्रक तयार करण्यात यावे व फवारणी आधी नगरसेवकांना माहिती देऊन त्यांच्या सूचनेवरून ठराविक भागांमध्ये फवारणी करण्यात यावी. डेंग्यूमुळे शहरात निर्माण झालेल्या वातावरणाचा फायदा घेत काही जण राजकारण करीत आहेत. मात्र या रोगावर मात करण्यासाठी राजकारणापेक्षा जनजागृती होणे अत्यंत आवश्यक आहे व त्यासाठी सर्वांनी एकत्र येण्याची गरज असल्याचेही सभापती मनोज चापले म्हणाले.
परिसरात अस्वच्छता, घरी, छपरावरील टायर, ड्रम आदी साधनांमध्ये साचणारे पाणी व परिसरात असणारा कचरा यामुळे डेंग्यूच्या डासांची पैदास वाढते. हे सर्व आपल्याच निष्काळजीपणामुळे होते. डेंग्यूवर मात करण्यासाठी प्रत्येकाने निष्काळजीपणा सोडून स्वच्छता ही आपली जबाबदारी असल्याचे निश्चित करणे आवश्यक आहे. डेंग्यूबाबत मोठ्या प्रमाणात जनजागृती होणे आवश्यक आहे. यासाठी नगरसेवकांनी पुढाकार घेउन जनजागृती करणारे पत्रक छापून आपापल्या प्रभागात घरोघरी वितरीत करावे. याशिवाय झोनमधील मनपासह, शासकीय व खासगी अशा सर्व शाळांमध्ये जनजागृती कार्यक्रम घेण्यात यावेत. चिमुकल्या मुलांमार्फत होणारा प्रचार हा प्रभावी ठरत असल्याने शाळांमध्ये जनजागृतीवर भर द्या, असेही सभापती मनोज चापले यांनी यावेळी निर्दशित केले.
MS Dhoni has not been at his best with the bat in the recent past and despite a prolific season in the Indian Premier League, the former captain has not been able to replicate this form in International cricket.
Former captain Sunil Gavaskar believes that Dhoni should move back to domestic cricket and play his trade there in order to regain his form and then stake a claim for the Indian team.
“Absolutely (when asked if Dhoni should feature in domestic cricket). Dhoni should be playing domestic cricket and should be playing the four-day games as well because he will help so many of the emerging players from Jharkhand,” Gavaskar told.
“In the 50-over game you have limited opportunities but if you play a four-day game and play a long innings its great for your stamina, for your legs, for the rhythm that you want in limited-overs cricket,” Gavaskar added.
Dhoni has been an influential member with the side as he is the go-to man for Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma in order to forge any tactical play, but his sluggish form with the bat has been a cause for worry for India, more so in the death overs, a phase which has troubled India for quite some time now.
