नागपूर : लग्नाचे आमिष दाखवून तरुणींना देहव्यापारात ढकलणाऱ्या टोळीचा पर्दाफाश करण्यात यशोधरानगर पोलिसांना यश आले आहे. यावेळी तपासात राजस्थानमध्ये उपराजधानीतील तीन तरुणींची विक्री करण्यात आल्याची धक्कादायक माहिती समोर आली असून पोलिसांनी दोघांना अटक केली.
नूरजहा शेख कलीम (३३) रा. गुलशननगर, कळमना आणि रतनबाई बिरमचंद मीना (३३) रा. झालावाड, राजस्थान अशी अटक करण्यात आलेल्या आरोपींची नावे आहेत. पीडित तरुणी २० ते २४ वष्रे वयोगटातील असून कळमना, इमामवाडा आणि नंदनवन परिसरात राहणाऱ्या आहेत. काही महिन्यांपूर्वी कळमना परिसरात राहणाऱ्या युवतीची आरोपी नूरजहा शेख हिच्याशी ओळख झाली होती. तिने राजस्थानमध्ये नोकरी लावून देण्याचे आमिष दाखवले. त्यासाठी आणखी दोन युवतींना शोधण्यास सांगितले. तिघींनाही नोकरी मिळणार असे आमिष दाखवून तरुणींना राजस्थानला जाण्यासाठी तयार केले. नूरजहा हिने दलाल राजू ऊर्फ आत्माराम पन्नालाल रॉय (३४) रा. वनदेवी चौक, यशोधरानगर आणि हसन कुरेशी शेख (४०) यांच्या मदतीने राजस्थानमधील दलाल विरम मीना याला तीन मुलींची माहिती दिली. त्याने लगेच युवतींच्या मोबाईलवरून फोटो पाठवण्यास सांगितले.
फोटो मिळताच राजस्थानमध्ये देहव्यापाराची मुख्य दलाल रतनबाई बिरमचंद मीना हिने पैशाची व्यवस्था केली. गेल्या २३ ऑक्टोबरला आरोपी मुलींना घेऊन राजस्थानात गेले. तेव्हापासून ४ नोव्हेंबपर्यंत रतनबाई हिच्या अड्डय़ावर त्यांना ठेवण्यात आले. दरम्यान, तरुणींना आपली विक्री झाल्याची कल्पना आली. त्यांनी धडपड केली. मात्र, ती व्यर्थ ठरली. दुसरीकडे राजू रॉय आणि हसन शेख या गांजा तस्करांना भोपाळ रेल्वेस्थानकावर अटक करण्यात आली. पोलिसांनी त्यांच्याकडून गांजा जप्त करून इतर गुन्ह्य़ांची चौकशी केली असता त्यांनी तीन तरुणींची राजस्थानमध्ये विक्री केल्याची माहिती दिली. त्यानंतर मध्यप्रदेश पोलिसांनी यशोधरानगर पोलिसांशी संपर्क साधून माहिती दिली. यशोधरानगर पोलिसांनी राजस्थान गाठून तीन तरुणींची सुटका करीत दोघींना अटक केली.
Nagpur: Diwali night unleashed a pall of gloom over Gavai family as the member they were desperately waiting for met with an accident and died, never to return again. The 45-year-old man went to buy crackers for his son but could not return as unidentified four-wheeler vehicle knocked him down here on Diwali night.
The deceased was identified as Mahendra Dadarao Gavai (45) resident of Ladekar Lay-out, near Takal Khede hospital. As per the details, Mahendra went out to buy crackers for his son at around 9 pm on Wednesday. However while crossing the road; an unidentified four-wheeler vehicle hit him from behind with forceful impact.
As a result, Mahendra fell on road and received fatal injuries. He died on the spot even before medical help could be extended to him at nearby hospital.Followed by the compliant, Hudkeshwar police has registered a under relevant sections and started the probe.
Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan starrer Thugs of Hindostan has finally hit the screens. The movie created quite a storm ahead of its release. However, only time will tell if the film lives up to the hype.
The film’s primary plot revolves around a band of thugs led by Amitabh’s character Khudabaksh whose motive is to gain freedom for India from the British Raj.

मुंबई: प्रदूषण रोखण्यासाठी म्हणून सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाने दिलेल्या निर्णयानंतर रात्री 8 ते रात्री 10 या वेळातच फटाके उडवण्याचे बंधन घालण्यात आले आहे. मात्र याबंधनाला सुरूंग लावत रात्री उशिरापर्यंत फटाके वाजवल्याबद्दल दोन अज्ञातांविरोधात तक्रार दाखल करण्यात आली आहे. मुंबईतील मानखुर्दच्या काही भागात रात्री उशिरापर्यंत फटाके वाजण्यात आले. यावेळी माहिती अधिकार कार्यकर्ते शकील अहमद शेख यांनी मानखुर्द पोलीस ठाण्यात दोन अज्ञात व्यक्तींविरोधात तक्रार दाखल करण्यात आली आहे.
Nagpur : Sakkardara Police arrested a 35-year-old man and booked four others, including two women, for selling a girl by promising her job of a maid servant in Oman.
Cops arrested Nasiruddin alias Raja Samsuddin Shaikh (35), a resident of Sharda Mata Chowk, Bhupesh Nagar.
Other accused involved in the case, include Nasima, Akeela, Firoz and Imtiyaz. Following a complaint lodged by the victim’s complaint, police registered an offence under Sections 370 (Trafficking of persons), 371 (Habitual dealing in slaves), 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property)and 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code against Nasiruddin alias Raja Samsuddin Shaikh, Nasima, Akeela, Firoz and Imtiyaz. Mumbai : Ground staff at state-run carrier Air India have been on strike at the Mumbai airport since 11 pm last night, leading to a considerable delay in flights.
Employees at Air India Air Transport Services Ltd., the national carrier’s subsidiary for ground services have called for the industrial action after the airline refused to reinstate some sacked contract workers.
Due to a sudden industrial situation at Mumbai by AIATSL employees, some flights have got delayed. We are assessing the situation and all efforts are being made to minimise delays or disruption,” said an airline spokesperson.
Facebook has introduced ‘Diwali Stories’ for users in India, the company said in a blog post. Through this option, users can choose to share their favourite moments of the Diwali with their friends and family. Facebook Diwali Stories will be available through out November 7, which is today, and will only be available in English.
Indian Facebook users will find the ‘Share your Stories this Diwali’ post at the top of their News Feed after their first login on November 7. The ‘Stories’ icon appears over the News Feed, and users can choose from photo, video, Boomerang mode and Live video mode to share their Diwali experiences. Other effects available with this mode include masks, frames and interactive filters, that can be added onto photos as well as videos in real time.
Facebook users can choose to create separate Diwali Stories and personal Stories, or merge both into one Story. This means the content they upload onto Stories will be considered a Diwali Story by default, unless they choose to make it a personal Story as well. The platform will also send direct messages that link to Diwali Stories from close friends, though the feature will be limited to users in India.
नागपूर : मॉर्निंग वॉकला गेलेल्या तीन शिक्षकांना भरधाव गाडीने उडवले. यात दोघांचा जागेवरच मृत्यू तर एक गंभीर जखमी झाला आहे. नागपूर जिल्ह्यातील सावनेर येथे बुधवारी ही घटना घडली. ऐन लक्ष्मीपूजनाच्या दिवशी घडलेल्या या घटनेने हळहळ व्यक्त केली जात आहे.
नागोराव गुंडेराव बनसिंगे (वय 41) व हेमंत भाऊराव लाडे (वय-52) हे दोन शिक्षक दुर्गेश्वर चौधरी या आपल्या मित्रासह बुधवारी सकाळी फिरायला निघाले होते. त्यावेळी एम. एच. ३१, ईएन ९८७ या बोलेरो गाडीने छिंदवाड्याहून माळेगावला जात असताना जनता लॉनसमोर तिघांनाही मागून धडक दिली. यात दोघे शिक्षक जागीच ठार झाले. तर दुर्गेश्वर चौधरी जखमी झाले. गाडीचा चालक दिलीप परशराम वाघाड याला अटक करण्यात आली अाहे.
जखमी चौधरी यांना उपचारासाठी रुग्णालयात दाखल करण्यात आले आहे. मृतक आणि जखमी हे सर्व व्यवसायाने शिक्षक आहेत. दिवाळीच्या सुट्टीनिमित्त हे 3 मित्र एकत्र आले होते. सलग सुट्ट्या आल्याने मित्रांनी काही बेत आखले होते. एरवी कामात व्यस्त असल्याने एकमेकांची भेट होत नसल्याने त्यांनी एकत्र येत सकाळी साडे पाचच्या दरम्यान मॉर्निंग वॉकसाठी जाण्याचे ठरवले. नागोराव बानसिंगे, हेमंत लाडे आणि दुर्गेश्वर चौधरी सकाळी मॉर्निंग वॉकसाठी छिंदवाडा मार्गावर फिरत असताना मागून आलेल्या बोलेरो गाडीने तिघांनाही धडक दिली. घटनास्थळावरून काही अंतरावरच पोलिसांनी अपघातास कारणीभूत असलेली गाडी जप्त केली आहे.
Nagpur : Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has proposed to give the legal status to the religious structures situated in residential localities. The civic body has sought amendments in Development Control Regulations (DCR) under section 37 of Maharashtra Region Town Planning (MRTP) Act to provide protection to shrines situated on public utility (PU) lands in all the layouts.
It may be mentioned that NMC and Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) had demolished several religious structures in the city leading to public outroar. The civic body had prepared a list of 1514 religious structures and demolished most of them as per the directions of the High Court. However, the Court later rejected the faulty list prepared by the civic body and directed them to revisit the list.
The demolition drive triggered resentment among devotees and citizens of Orange city. Meanwhile, High Court also blasted planning authorities for targeting shrines located on open spaces, public utility plots within lay-outs and even on private lands. However, Court did not provide any protection to the structures located on the roads.
To give legal status to these religious structures situated in the layouts, NMC General Body had unanimously adopted a resolution on August 9, 2018, for regularising religious structures on open spaces in layouts by amending regulation number 13.3.1.3 (2), 13.8 and 14.2 of DCR. Through this resolution the civic body sought to remove legal ambiguities that came in way of regularisation of shrines in the layouts.
Nagpur : The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is set to convert 50 diesel-run buses into CNG on trial basis.
Transport committee chief Narendra aka Bunty Kukde said the NMC’s steering committee led by officiating municipal commissioner Ravindra Thakre has given nod to the proposal submitted by Rawmatt Industries Private Limited at a meeting convened late on Monday.
“Now, the proposal will be tabled before the special transport committee meeting to be convened after Diwali”, he said. “The expenditure will be borne by Rawmatt Industries. This would save NMC’s fuel expenditure by 20% to 25%,” claimed the transport committee chief.
Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari had suggested converting the NMC’s Aapli Bus to CNG. Taking the suggestion seriously, Kukde immediately invited uggestions from various companies across the country. Subsequently, Rawmatt Industries approached the civic body and gave a detailed presentation before a meeting of all stakeholders convened by Thakre.
Indian pair Elavenil Valarivan and Hriday Hazarika shot down the gold medal with a junior world record score in the final of the 10m air rifle mixed team junior at the 11th Asian Championship in Kuwait city.
Elavenil and Hriday earlier qualified for the five-team final in third position with a combined score of 835.8 points. A second Indian pair, Mehuli Ghosh and Arjun Babuta, bagged the bronze in the same event. They logged 833.5 to qualify in fourth place.
In the 45-shot final, Elavenil and Hriday made a strong start and led from the start, except briefly going into second after 20-shots, to the silver-winning Chinese Shi Mengyao and Wang Yuefeng. They eventually finished with a score of 502.1, which is a world and Asian junior record in the event. The Chinese pair finished with 500.9.
The Mehuli-Arjun pair was third throughout the length of the final and ended with a score of 436.9 to claim bronze.
The juniors began their campaign on Monday with three silver and one bronze medals, with Elavenil winning bronze in the individual women’s air rifle junior competition and silver in the team format. Mehuli and Arjun had also won silver medals in the team competition on Monday.
This takes India’s tally to six medals from the competition with one gold, three silvers and two bronze medals.
मुंबई : अवनी या वाघिणीच्या शिकारीच्या वादात मनसे अध्यक्ष राज ठाकरे यांनीही उडी घेतली आहे. ‘वाघाचे पुतळे उभे करून वाघ वाचत नाहीत. जी गोष्ट वाचवली जाऊ शकते, ती मारायची नसते. अवनीला मारण्यापूर्वी तिला बेशुद्ध करायला हवे होते’, असं सांगतानाच ‘अनिल अंबानींच्या उद्योगांसाठी वाघाला मारण्यात आल्याचं समोर येतंय. या अंबानींसाठी भाजपनं अख्खा देश विकायला काढला आहे’, अशी टीका राज ठाकरे यांनी केली.
राज ठाकरे यांनी अवनीच्या मृत्यूवरून राज्यसरकारवर जोरदार हल्ला चढवला. ‘एक तर वाघ दुर्मिळ होत चालले आहेत. त्यांना वाचवण्यासाठी त्यांचे पुतळे उभारले जात आहेत. केवळ पुतळे उभारून वाघ वाचत नाहीत. जी गोष्ट वाचवता येते तिला मारायची गरजच काय?’ असा सवाल राज यांनी केला. ‘वाघिणीच्या हल्ल्यात जे दहा-बाराजण गेले त्याचे मला वाईट वाटते. मात्र असले प्रकार जगभर घडत असतात. वाघांच्या वस्त्यात माणसांनी आक्रमण केलं की या घटना घडतात. बोरिवलीच्या राष्ट्रीय उद्यानातही इमारती उभ्या राहत आहेत. वाघांच्या वस्तींवर अतिक्रमण होत आहे, त्याकडे सरकारनं लक्ष द्यावं’, असा सल्लाही त्यांनी दिला. गुजरातमध्ये सिंह मारला गेला असता तर किती बोंब झाली असती, असा सवालही त्यांनी केला.
राज यांनी यावेळी वनमंत्री सुधीर मुनगंटीवार यांच्यावरही हल्ला चढवला. ‘मुनगंटीवार बेफिकीरपणे उत्तरे देत आहेत. ते वनमंत्री आहेत म्हणून त्यांना सर्व कळतं असं नाही. त्यांनी काही जंगलाचं संशोधन केलेलं नाही. उद्या त्यांचं मंत्रीपदही जाऊ शकतं. त्यांनी जबाबदारीनं बोलावं’, असा टोला त्यांनी मुनगंटीवार यांना हाणला.
As BJP rivals reacted sharply to the UP Chief Minister’s announcement that Faizabad district will henceforth be called Ayodhya district, the party’s government in Gujarat, while praising Yogi Adityanath for the step, said it was ready to change the name of Ahmedabad to Karnavati if it gets enough support to overcome legal hurdles in the way.
UP Congress Legislature Party leader Ajay Kumar Lallu said that instead of focusing on development, the UP government was busy changing names. “These people are miles away from development. All we can say is that they do not desire development. They are playing with the feelings of people by changing names. They are not focusing on basic issues. In a place like UP which is now a hub of crime, they are busy changing names,” he said.
SP spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary said: “They have confused changing names for work. Yesterday, they changed the name of the Ekana stadium in Lucknow and today, this. In a democracy, the government should not misuse its power, but this is exactly what the BJP is doing. The law and order situation in UP is at its worst, but they are busy changing names.”
CPI general secretary S Sudhakar Reddy said: “This is the BJP government’s ploy to cover up its failure in governance. At the same time, the name change also reflects its anti-Muslim feelings. First it changed the name of Allahabad to Prayag Raj and now their move is to change the name of Faizabad because they think these are Muslim names.”
The AAP called the UP government’s decision “Tughlaqi” (autocratic) and said it should have taken the opinion of people. Senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh said: “The opinion of the locals residents of a place should be taken before changing its name. India is a democratic country. It’s a Tughlaqi decision.”
In Gandhinagar, Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel congratulated the UP government for changing the name of Faizabad district to Ayodhya district. Responding to a reporter’s query on the demand for changing the name of Ahmedabad to Karnavati, he said: “People’s feelings are there, and were there earlier also, to change the name to Karnavati. We are always ready to do that if we get enough support to overcome legal hurdles.
नागपूर : देशातील प्रमुख रेल्वे स्थानकांवर यापुढे राष्ट्रध्वज तिरंगा डौलाने फडकणार आहे. तसेच आदेशच रेल्वे बोर्डाने जारी केले आहेत. स्वातंत्र्यदिनी आणि प्रजासत्तादिनी रेल्वेस्थानकांवर झेंडा वंदन होतेच पण यापुढे कायमस्वरूपी रेल्वे स्थानकांवर तिरंगा फडकताना दिसणार आहे. रेल्वे स्थानकावर राष्ट्रध्वज लावण्याची मूळ कल्पना मध्य रेल्वे नागपूर विभागातील आरपीएफचे वरिष्ठ मंडळ सुरक्षा आयुक्त ज्योतिकुमार सतिजा यांची आहे. तीन-चार महिन्यापूर्वी सतिजा यांनी रेल्वे बोर्डाच्या अध्यक्षांना यासंदर्भात पत्र पाठविले होते. रेल्वे स्थानकांवर राष्ट्रध्वज लावल्यास त्याचा फार चांगला परिणाम होईल. प्रवाशांमध्ये असलेली राष्ट्रभक्तीची भावना वाढीस लागेल, त्यामुळे यावर विचार करावा, अशी विनंती त्यांनी पत्रात केली होती. रेल्वे बोर्ड अध्यक्षांनी ही कल्पना उचलून धरली. व आता तसे आदेशच जारी केले आहेत. याबाबतचे पत्र रेल्वे बोर्डाचे कार्यकारी संचालक विवेक सक्सेना यांनी सर्व रेल्वे झोनच्या महाव्यवस्थापकांना पाठविले आहे.

PM Modi celebrating Diwali with the jawans of Indian Army and ITBP at Harsil in Uttarakhand. “Your devotion to duty in the remote icy heights is enabling the strength of the nation and securing the future and the dreams of 125 crore Indians,” he told the jawans.
After meeting jawans, Modi offered prayers at the Himalayan shrine in Kedarnath and reviewed Kedarpuri reconstruction projects. This is Prime Minister Modi’s 3rd visit to Kedarnath since 2014.
A meditation cave that is built at a secluded spot 400 metres above the shrine will be shown to the PM Modi from a distance as he is not scheduled to go there.
After becoming the prime minister in 2014, PM Modi had spent Diwali at Siachen with Army jawans.
In 2015, he had visited the Punjab border on Diwali. His visit had coincided with 50 years of the 1965 Indo-Pak war.
The next year, PM Modi was in Himachal Pradesh, where he spent time with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel at a border outpost. He had spent his fourth Diwali as prime minister with soldiers at Gurez in Jammu and Kashmir last year.
नागपूर : दिवाळी चांगली साजरी करा, आनंदी राहा, अशा आशयाची चिठ्ठी लिहून ५५ वर्षीय इसमाने गांधीसागरमध्ये आत्महत्या केली. निशिकांत वसंतराव सायखेडकर रा. सहकारनगर, खामला, असे मृतकाचे नाव आहे. सोमवारी सकाळी १० वाजताच्या सुमारास एका इसमाचा मृतदेह गांधीसागरमध्ये तरंगत असल्याचे नारिकांना दिसले. नागरिकांनी गणेशपेठ पोलिसांना माहिती दिली. माहिती मिळताच गणेशपेठ पोलिस स्टेशनचे उपनिरीक्षक ए.आर.शिंदे यांच्यासह पोलिसांचा ताफा तेथे पोहोचला. जगदीश खरे यांच्या मदतीने पोलिसांनी मृतदेह बाहेर काढला. पोलिसांना मृतकाच्या खिश्यात चिठ्ठी आढळली. दिवाळी साजरी करा, आनंदी रहा असे त्यात लिहून नातेवाइकांची नावे व मोबाइल क्रमांक दिला होता. पोलिसांनी मोबाइल क्रमांकावर संपर्क साधला. नातेवाइक आले. ओळख पटली. निशिकांत यांच्या आत्महत्येचे कारण कळू शकले नाही. पोलिसांनी आकस्मिक मृत्यूची नोंद करून तपास सुरू केला आहे.

The School Education Department of Maharashtra Government has come up with the rate fixation for reimbursement of the fees to be given against the admissions done under Right to Education (RTE) Act. It also included the mechanism of distribution of fee amount. The reimbursement for 2017-18 would be given as per the rate fixed for the year 2016-17.
As per new mechanism, before giving reimbursement the Education Officers would constitute the inspection committees at Block Education Officer-level. The committees will tally the names of the beneficiaries from the portals of RTE and SARAL with the names of the students admitted in respective schools. The committees will check the fees being charged by the schools. They will check the resolution of Parent Teacher Association about fees.
The schools asking for reimbursement should have recognition by education department and RTE. The schools running without recognition are not eligible to get the reimbursement. These schools should have done the auditing through Chartered Accountants which have the mention of tuition fees. The students studying in these schools must be Aadhar-registered.
RTE admissions to be done in three rounds
From the academic year 2019-20, the admissions under RTE would be done in not more than three rounds. A fourth round to be treated as fourth one would be conducted after these three rounds and the admissions would be done on First Come First Basis. The schools which are set up on the lands acquired at discount rates would not get fees against the admissions done under RTE.
नागपूर : वर्धा, गडचिरोलीनंतर चंद्रपूर जिल्ह्य़ात दारूबंदी लागू झाली. या दारूबंदीने नागपूरच्या दारूविक्रेत्यांचे फावले असून चंद्रपूर व वर्धेला नागपुरातून मोठय़ा प्रमाणात दारूची तस्करी होत असल्याचे अनेकदा झालेल्या कारवायांमधून उघड झाले आहे. अशाच दारू तस्कराने नागभीडमध्ये एका पोलीस अधिकाऱ्याचा जीव घेतल्यानंतर पुन्हा एकदा उपराजधानीतून होणाऱ्या दारू तस्करीचा मुद्दा ऐरणीवर आला.
चंद्रपूर जिल्ह्य़ात दारूबंदीची मागणी होती. त्यासाठी आंदोलन झाल्यावर सरकारने वर्धा आणि गडचिरोलीनंतर चंद्रपूर जिल्ह्य़ात दारूबंदी करण्याचा निर्णय २१ जानेवारी २०१५ ला घेतला. त्याची अंमलबजावणी १ एप्रिलपासून करण्यात आली. मात्र, त्यानंतर छुप्या पद्धतीने दारूविक्री सुरू झाली. चंद्रपुरात नागपूरमार्गे अवैध दारू नेली जाऊ लागली. दारूबंदीमुळे नागपूरच्या दारूविक्रेत्यांचे फावले आहे. अडवानी, जयस्वाल यांच्या वाईन शॉपमधून ही दारूची तस्करी होत असल्याची माहिती पोलीस सूत्रांनी दिली. दारू तस्करीला पोलीस दलातील काही कर्मचारी आणि अधिकाऱ्यांचे पाठबळ मिळत आहे. याची माहिती स्थानिक पोलीस ठाण्यांना असूनही त्यांच्यावर कारवाई होत नाही. नागपूर पोलिसांनीच दारू तस्करांच्या मुसक्या आवळल्या तर नागभीडमध्ये घडलेल्या घटनेची पुनरावृत्ती टळेल, अशी प्रतिक्रिया नागपूरकर व्यक्त करीत आहेत.
नागपूर : मध्यभारतातील पक्ष्यांच्या सर्वांगीण अभ्यासाला चालना देण्यासाठी आता नागपुरात ‘मध्य भारत पक्षी अकादमी’चा प्रयोग राबविला जाणार आहे. नागपुरातील नामवंत पक्षी अभ्यासक या प्रयोगासाठी एकत्र आले असून, विदर्भासहित मध्य प्रदेश आणि छत्तीसगड येथील पक्ष्यांच्या अभ्यासावर लक्ष केंद्रित केले जाणार आहे. ११ नोव्हेंबर रोजी चिटणवीस सेंटर येथे या अकादमीचे उद्घाटन करण्यात येईल.
विदर्भात सुमारे ४५० पक्षी प्रजाती असून, त्यापैकी ३५ ते ४० प्रजाती या दुर्मिळ आणि नामशेष होण्याच्या मार्गावर आहेत. अशा सर्व पक्षी प्रजातींचा विविध प्रकारे अभ्यास या अकादमीच्या माध्यमातून येत्या काळात केला जाणार आहे. सातपुडा पर्वतरांगांना लागून असलेला दक्षिण मध्य प्रदेश, छत्तीसगडचा बहुतांश भाग आणि संपूर्ण विदर्भ या भूप्रदेशातील पक्षी वैविध्य आणि जैवविविधता बरीचशी जुळणारी आहे. या पक्ष्यांचे स्थलांतर, संवर्धन, विणीची पद्धत, संगोपन, त्यांचे अधिवास यांचा अभ्यास अकादमीच्या माध्यमातून केला जाणार आहे.
‘विदर्भात पक्षी, पाणवठे आणि इतर सर्व जैवविविधता मोठ्या प्रमाणात आहे. मात्र या विविधतेचा शास्त्रीयदृष्ट्या फारसा अभ्यास झालेला नाही. त्यातून संशोधनाधारित साहित्य किंवा पुस्तके निर्माण झालेली नाही. संशोधनाची ही मानसिकता विदर्भात कमी आढळते. मात्र, या जैवविविधतेचा संशोधनाच्या दृष्टीने अभ्यास करण्याची मानसिकता निर्माण व्हावी या भूमिकेतून अकादमीची स्थापना करण्यात आली आहे,’ असे या अकादमीचे संचालक आणि ख्यातनाम पक्षीअभ्यासक डॉ. अनिल पिंपळापुरे यांनी सांगितले.
Nagpur : You have heard stories of jewellery and cash theft from homes and commercial setups. But now, a unique case of robbery has come to light from Maharashtra’s Nagpur District where robbers looted 79 kg hair from a man on the Nagpur-Hyderabad highway.
Pradeep Nerla, a 28-year old resident of Rangareddi, Andhra Pradesh, was traveling on the Nagpur-Hyderabad highway on Saturday night.
He had bought 79 Kg hair worth Rs 15,000 from Nagpur and was returning to Hyderabad when 3-4 robbers stopped his car and looted him in Ruikhairi area on the Nagpur-Hyderabad highway.
After the incident, Pradeep filed a complaint in Butibori Police station.
As per the complaint filed to Police Station, the victim had bought 79 Kg hair from Nagpur and was returning home in his Mahindra Verito Car. When Pradeep reached the Ruikhairi Shivar area on the Nagpur-Hyderabad highway, a white coloured car stopped in front of his car and block his route. To avoid any damage, Pradeep stopped his car in the middle of the highway.
Moments later, three to four robbers pulled Pradeep out of his car and started hitting him.
The robbers then proceeded to loot the 79 kg hair that Pradeep had brought from Nagpur.
Pradeep rushed to the nearest police station in Butibori and filed a complaint. He said all the accused were in the age group of 20 to 24 years.
The police then registered complaints against the unknown persons under IPC Sections 392, 341, 34.

यावेळी महिला व बालकल्याण समिती सभापती प्रगती पाटील यांच्या हस्ते बेघर नागरिकांना फराळ व मिठाईचे वाटप करण्यात आले. याप्रसंगी उपसभापती दिव्या धुरडे, अल्ताफ हंसारी, नूतन मोरे, प्रमोद खोब्रागडे, विनय त्रिकोलवार यांच्यासह बेघर निवाराचे कर्मचारीवृंद उपस्थित होते.
बेघर निवारा येथील सर्व बेघरांकरीता निवारा केंद्र मायेचे आणि विसाव्याचे हक्काचे घर असल्याची प्रांजळ भावना आहे. येथे अनेक बेघर नागरिक निवारा घेत असून या निवाऱ्याच्या माध्यमातून मिळत असलेल्या मायेच्या उबीमुळे त्यांच्या चेह-यावरील समाधान पाहून उपस्थितांचेही मन सुखावून गेले.

Rohit Sharma added another accolade to his name as the opener became the highest run-scorer for India in T20Is during the second match of the ongoing series against West Indies in Lucknow on Tuesday. The stand-in skipper surpassed Virat Kohli (2102 runs) during the fifth over of the encounter when he slammed Oshane Thomas for a huge six.
While Kohli has played only 52 games, Rohit took 86 matches to achieve the feat. However, the opener remains the only Indian cricketer to score three T20I tons and strike rate of 136.91 (before the match) is the best among the top-5 Indian run-scorers.

Ayodhya : Faizabad in Uttar Pradesh will be known as Ayodhya, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced today in a speech to mark the Diwali festival in the holy city revered by millions of Hindus as the birthplace of Lord Ram. The announcement comes days after the Uttar Pradesh government officially renamed Allahabad as Prayagraj.
“Ayodhyahamari aan baan shaan ka prateek hai, Ayodhyaki pehchan Bhagwan Ram se hai. (Ayodhya is our symbol of our pride and prestige). It owes its identity to Lord Ram,” said Yogi Adityanath.
The Faizabad district comprises the twin towns of Faizabad and Ayodhya on the banks of the river Saryu. The district will now be known as Ayodhya, said the saffron-robed chief minister. He also announced a medical college that would be named after Lord Ram’s father in the epic Ramayana, Raja Dashrath. An airport in Ayodhya will be named after Lord Ram.
“I want to make sure that Lord Ram’s legacy lives forever,” explained the priest-politician, who took charge as the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh after the BJP’s massive victory in state polls last year.
Yogi Adityanath, responding to criticism of his renaming spree, had said that a name matters. “Why are those protesting the change not named Raavan or Duryodhan? Why didn’t their parents name them ‘Raavan’ and ‘Duryodhan’ in that case? In this country, the name holds a lot of significance,” he said.

नागपूर : ऐन दिवाळीत उपराजधानीत ‘स्वाईन फ्लू’ चा प्रकोप वाढला आहे. गेल्या सात दिवसांमध्ये नागपूरच्या विविध रुग्णालयांत या आजाराने चार जणांचे मृत्यू झाल्याची नोंद महापालिकेच्या आरोग्य विभागाने केली आहे. त्यातील तीन रुग्ण हे नागपूर जिल्ह्य़ातील आहेत. रुग्ण वाढल्याने आरोग्य विभागाचे धाबे दणाणले असून त्यांनी सर्व रुग्णालयांना दक्ष राहण्याच्या सूचना दिल्या आहेत.
वसंतराव रामटेके (६७) रा. अयोध्यानगर (नागपूर), सैदा बेगम अब्दुल रहेमान (५८) रा. कश्चम कॉलनी, शांतीनगर (नागपूर), मधुकर पाटील (६८) रा. वाडी (नागपूर), किशोर पवार (५६) रा. श्याम नगर (अमरावती) असे चारही दगावलेल्या रुग्णांचे नाव आहे. चारही रुग्णांना सर्दी, खोकला, तापासह इतर त्रास सुरू झाल्यावर नातेवाईकांनी प्रथम जवळच्या दवाखान्यात दाखवले. उपचारानंतरही आराम पडत नसल्याने यातील तिघांना खासगी रुग्णालयात व एकाला मेयोत दाखल करण्यात आले. त्यांच्या घशातील द्रव्याच्या नमुन्याच्या तपासणीत त्यांना स्वाईन फ्लू असल्याचे निदान झाले. शेवटी उपचारादरम्यान त्यांचा मृत्यू झाला. हे सर्व मृत्यू गेल्या सात दिवसांमध्ये महापालिकेच्या आरोग्य विभागाकडून नोंदवले गेले आहेत.
या मृत्यूंमुळे नागपूर विभागातील १ जानेवारी २०१८ पासून आजपर्यंतच्या स्वाईन फ्लू बळींची संख्या १८ वर पोहोचली आहे, तर या काळात आढळलेल्या रुग्णांची संख्याही १०९ झाली. हा आजार रुग्णाच्या संपर्कात येणाऱ्यांमध्ये झपाटय़ाने पसरण्याचा धोका असतो. त्यामुळे दिवाळीत काळजी न घेतल्यास हे रुग्ण आणखी वाढण्याची भीती वैद्यकीय क्षेत्रातील जाणकार व्यक्त करत आहेत.
