MSEDCL to set up 1,000 MW floating solar plant

Nagpur : State energy minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule is going ahead with his green energy mission full steam. After tying up for 1,000 MW solar power at lowest rate in the country, he has asked MSEDCL to set up a 1,000 MW floating solar plant in Ujani dam (district Solapur) on built own operate transfer (BOOT) basis.

The discom has floated tenders for developing this plant through a private partner. The company has finalized ten ocations in the dam where panels having total capacity of 100 MW would be installed. The power would be supplied to farmers of Solapur and adjoining districts. The panels would reduce evaporation from the dam and save 1,000 million cubic feet (TMC) water.

Moreover, floating panels’ efficiency will be 6 to 7% more than normal ones. Floating solar plants in the country are a rarity. Mahagenco had planned to set up a loating solar plant in its Irai dam (district Chandrapur).

However, the consultant appointed by it found the proposal to be costly and the company dropped the project. However, Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA) is developing a 270 KW floating plant in Wadgaon dam (district Nagpur). A source in MSEDCL said that it would sign a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the developer for buying power for 25 years.

“The company offering the lowest rate will be awarded the tender. The maximum rate fixed by us is Rs3 per unit. We may appoint more than one company for the entire project as there are ten sites,” he added.

Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) had cleared the proposal on December 18 and the tender was floated on December 24. The bids will be opened on January 29.

क्षुल्लक कारणावरून पालकांची शिक्षकाला मारहाण

नागपूर : शिक्षक आणि विद्यार्थ्यांंचे संबंध अतिशय आदर्श मानले जातात. गुरूला विद्यार्थी प्रिय असतो आणि विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी गुरू दैवत असतो. परंतु बदलत्या काळानुसार गुरू-शिष्याची ही व्याख्याही बदलत चालली आहे. याची प्रचिती शुक्रवारी मेकोसाबाग परिसरातील शास्त्री सिंधी हिंदी शाळेतील एका घटनेतून आली. मुलाला मारहाण केल्याचा आरोप करीत पालकांनी शाळेमध्ये तोडफोड करीत शिक्षकालाही मारहाण केली.

याप्रकरणी पोलिसांनी नऊ जणांविरुद्ध गुन्हा दाखल करून काहींना ताब्यात घेतले आहे. विद्यार्थ्यांच्या पालकाच्या तक्रारीवरून शिक्षकाविरुद्धही अदखलपात्र गुन्हा दाखल करण्यात आला आहे. आर्यन संतोष प्रजापती (१३) हा तिसऱ्या वर्गात शिकतो. गुरुवारी दुपारी शाळेत मुलींचा डंबरेलचा सराव सुरू होता. त्या ठिकाणाहून जात असताना आर्यनने मुलींना धक्का दिल्याचा आरोप आहे. यावेळी राहुल क्षीरसागर या शिक्षकाने आर्यनला हटकले असता तो पळून गेला.

शुक्रवारी सकाळी क्षीरसागर हे वर्गात शिकवत असताना आर्यनचे वडील संतोष प्रजापती काही महिला व पुरुषांना घेऊन शाळेत धडकले. त्यांनी मुलाला का मारले, असा सवाल करीत काही उत्तर देण्याच्यापूर्वीच शाळेत तोडफोड सुरू केली. शिक्षकालाही मारहाण केली. याची माहिती पोलिसांना देण्यात आली. पोलिसांनी घटनास्थळ गाठून प्रकरण शांत केले. सर्वाची आरोग्य तपासणी करण्यात आली. वैद्यकीय अहवालात मुलाला मारहाण झाल्याचे दिसून आले नाही.

उलट शिक्षकाला मारहाण झाल्याचे स्पष्ट झाल्याने क्षीरसागर यांच्या तक्रारीवरून शासकीय कामात अडथळा निर्माण करणे, लोकांना बेकायदेशीरपणे जमवणे याबाबत गुन्हा दाखल करून काहींना ताब्यात घेण्यात आले. तर संतोष प्रजापतीच्या तक्रारीवरून शिक्षकाविरुद्ध अदखलपात्र गुन्हा दाखल करण्यात आला आहे, अशी माहिती वरिष्ठ पोलीस निरीक्षक पराग पोटे यांनी दिली.

Nagpur : Five-year-old girl crushed under wall

Nagpur : A five-year-old girl was crushed under a pile of bricks after a dilapidated wall fell on her on Thursday at Nagraj Nagar. Joma Salamni was playing with her friends when the incident took place.

According to police, Joma and her friends were throwing stones at a free to collect berries near their house. One of the children accidentally touched the vulnerable wall which fell on Joma.

Children told some people who took Joma to Mayo Hospital where she died during treatment.

Joma’s father Nasim works as a labourer and has two more children.

Police said the wall was at a plot owned by Ashish Sapkal. Kalamna police have registered a case of accidental death. Joma’s post mortem was conducted on Friday at Mayo Hospital.

J&K : 4 Terrorists Shot Dead In Encounter With Security Forces In Pulwama

Shrinagar : At least four militants were killed in an encounter with security forces that broke out early Saturday morning in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. This is the second encounter in the last 24 hours in the area. According to police, a cordon and search operation (CASO) was launched by security forces in Rajpora following inputs about the possible presence of militants in the area.

“The encounter is underway in the area,” a senior security official said. “Brief exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists at Hanjan,” Jammu and Kashmir Police tweeted.

“The area has been cordoned off,” it added.

On Friday, a LeT militant was killed in an encounter in Banderpora area of Pulwama. A J-K police official had said that the slain militant had joined the outfit around five months ago. He was later was identified as Ishfaq Yousuf Wani, a resident of Koil Pulwama in South Kashmir.

नागपुरात ३० वर्षांतील निच्चांक; तापमान ३.५ अंश सेल्सिअसवर

नागपूर : जिल्ह्यात मागील ३० वर्षात सर्वात कमी ३.५ अंश सेल्सियस तापमानाची नोंद करण्यात आली आहे. जिल्ह्यात २४ तासात २.२ अंश सेल्सिअसने तापमानात घट झाली आहे. विदर्भातील सर्वात कमी तापमानाची नोंद नागपुरात झाली आहे.

येत्या ५ दिवसांत नागपूर तसेच विदर्भात शीत लहरीचा अंदाज प्रादेशिक हवामान खाते तसेच केंद्रीय हवामान खात्याने वर्तवला आहे. या तीव्र शीतलहरीचा परिणाम मध्य प्रदेश, विदर्भ आणि छत्तीसगड या भागातही होणार आहे. उत्तरेकडून येणाऱ्या वाऱ्यांनी गेल्या आठवड्यात विदर्भाला चांगलेच कापरे भरविले होते.

जिल्ह्यातील या वर्षीच्या थंडीने मागील सर्व विक्रम मोडीत काढले आहे. झपाट्याने कमी होणाऱ्या तापमानामुळे जनसामान्यांची तारांबळ उडत आहे. उबदार कपडे आणि शेकोट्या पेटवून नागरिक कडाक्याच्या थंडी पासून स्वतःचा बचाव करत आहेत.

Khasdar Krida Mahotsav to host Blind Girls Cricket Tournament

Nagpur: For the first time, Khasdar Krida Mahotsav, the brain child of Nagpur MP and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, will host blind girls cricket tournament as well as various sporting event for Divyang. In the Divyang events such as 100 m race, tricycle marathon, partially blind run, M R Run, handicap and deaf and dumb players will participate.

All these sporting events will be organised on January 16, 17 and 18, 2019. This was informed by the organisers at a press conference held at SJAN on Friday. Those present at the press meet include Vinay Upasani, Tournament Convener, Piyush Ambulkar and cricket player Gurudas Raut.

Ambulkar said that the sporting events are for four categories including Carrom, Volleyball, Chess and Cricket. Mentally challenged persons would also participate in the tournament. In the cricket tournament, the winners will get prize of Rs 21,000 in cash and the runners up Rs 15,000 in cash. Best Batsman, Best Bowler and Best Fielder will get Rs 2500 while the Man of the Match will receive cash prize of Rs 3000.

Volleyball winners will get Rs 11,000, Carrom Rs 10,000 and Chess (Men and Women) Rs 10,000. For the first time, Blind Girls Cricket Tournament is also being organised from January 12 to 14.

The tournament, to be played at University Ground, will be participated by players from six districts including Nagpur, Pune, Nashik, Solapur, Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. Total 120 players will take part. The winn ing team will get prize of Rs 21,000 in cash while the runners up will receive Rs 15,000 cash prize. The matches will be of six overs each, Convener of the tournament Sunil Dandekar said.

पतीसोबत अनैतिक संबंध; मायलेकींची मोलकरीण तरुणीला भररस्त्यावर मारहाण

नागपूर : घरकाम करणाऱ्या तरुणीवर चोरी आणि पतीसोबत अनैतिक संबंध असल्याचा आरोप करत मालकीण मंदा डंबारे आणि त्यांच्या मुलीने बेदम मारहाण केल्याचे समोर आले आहे. याप्रकरणी जरीपटका पोलीस ठाण्यात मंदा डंबारे आणि तिच्या मुलीविरुद्ध पीडितेने गुन्हा दाखल केला आहे.

मालकीण मंदा डंबारे आणि त्यांच्या मुलीने पीडितेला घरातून ओढत रस्त्यावर आणले व भररस्त्यात बेदम मारहाण करण्यात आली. मात्र, रस्त्यावरील एकाही व्यक्तीने तरुणीला त्या मायलेकींच्या तावडीतून सोडविण्याचा प्रयत्न केला नाही. पीडिता ही गरीब कुटुंबातील आहे. ती आरोप नाकारुन मायलेकींसमोर हातपाय जोडत होती. मात्र, आरोपी मायलेकींनी तिचे केस धरुन तिला रस्त्यावर खेचत आणले.

तरुणीला निर्दयीपणे मारहाण केल्याचा व्हिडिओ व्हायरल झाला आहे. लताच्या तक्रारीवरुन जरीपटका पोलीस ठाण्यात आरोपी मंदा डंबारे आणि तिच्या मुलीविरुद्ध गुन्हा दाखल करण्यात आला आहे. जरीपटका ठाण्यातील या प्रकारची ही तिसरी घटना असल्याचे सांगितले जात आहे.

Cabinet approves death penalty for aggravated sexual assault against minors

The Cabinet on Friday approved death penalty for aggravated sexual assault against children below the age of 18 years as part of amendments in the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act), Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad announced on Friday.

“Major changes are being made to POCSO Act. Punishment has been enhanced for sexual assault of children. The changes are being introduced to prevent children from becoming victims of sexual assault,” the minister said during a press briefing on a list of Cabinet decisions in the national capital.

Among other sections, 4, 5 and 6 will be amended to “provide option of stringent punishment, including death penalty, for committing aggravated penetrative sexual assault crime on a child to protect the children from sexual abuse”, a press release by the government said.

Besides this, the amendments have also proposed to protect children from assault “in times of natural calamities and disasters and in cases where children are administered, in any way, any hormone or any chemical substance, to attain early sexual maturity for the purpose of penetrative sexual assault”, the statement added. To curb child pornography, the government has decided to impose a fine for not deleting, destroying child pornographic material or reporting child pornography.

बेघरांना दिला मनपाने निवारा, ब्लँकेटचेही वाटप

नागपूर : थंडीचा वाढता कहर लक्षात घेता नागपूर महानगरपालिकेच्या वतीने संचालित बेघर निवारागृहात कर्मचाऱ्यांनी निवारा उपलब्ध करून दिला. या बेघरांना थंडीपासून बचाव करण्यासाठी स्वयंसेवी संस्थांच्या मदतीने ब्लँकेटचे वाटपही करण्यात आले.

सीताबर्डी येथील बेघर निवारागृहाच्या कर्मचाऱ्यांनी बुधवारी रात्रीच्या वेळी रेल्वेस्थानक, कस्तूरचंद पार्क याठिकाणचा सर्व्हे केला असता ३४ बेघर फुटपाथवर झोपलेले आढळून आले. अनेक गरीब तरुण जे सैन्यभरतीसाठी नागपुरात दाखल झालेले आहेत, अशा तरुणांचाही यात समावेश होता.

या सर्व लोकांना सीताबर्डी बेघर निवारागृहात आणण्यात आले. तेथे त्यांना पाणी, स्वच्छतागृह, गादी, चादर आदी मूलभूत सुविधा उपलब्ध करून देण्यात आल्या. या निराधारांना ‘ना नफा ना तोटा‘ या तत्त्वावर भोजन, चहा व नाश्त्याची सोय उपलब्ध करून देण्यात आली. मनपातर्फे माय एफएम, क्लॉथ बॉक्स फाउंडेशन तसेच काही दानशूर समाजसेवींना ब्लँकेट वाटपासंदर्भात आवाहन करण्यात आले होते. या आवाहनाला दाद देत त्यांनी बेघरांना ब्लँकेट वाटप केले. बेघर निवारागृहात जुने ३६ आणि नवीन ३४ असे एकूण ७० लाभार्थी आहेत.

Kader Khan’s condition critical, shifted to special ventilator

Veteran actor Kader Khan has been admitted to hospital amid deteriorating health. He has been living with his son and daughter-in-law in Canada for the last few years. According to a report in Spotboye, the actor has been put on a BiPAP ventilator after he had trouble breathing.

While Khan is conscious and is able to maintain eye contact, he has stopped talking. He also has symptoms of pneumonia. Khan suffers from progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), a degenerative disease that causes loss of balance, difficulty in walking and dementia.

He also underwent surgeries in his knees in 2017. His friend and Bollywood actor Shakti Kapoor had told Spotboye, “Yes, Kader Khan is now on a wheelchair. It’s so so sad to be talking about this…” His son had, however, said that while the surgery went well, his father refused to get up from the wheelchair and start walking on his own. Khan, a sought after dialogue writer in the 1990s, started his career in Bollywood with Yash Chopra’s Daag (1973).

He has written 12 films with Aunty No 1 being his last. He is best remembered for films such as Dulhe Raja, Haseena Maan Jayegi and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. He was last seen in 2015 film Ho Gaya Deemag Ka Dahi.

India announces Rs 4,500 crore financial assistance to Bhutan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Friday announced a Rs 4,500 crore financial assistance to Bhutan for its 12th five-year plan after holding wide-ranging talks with his Bhutanese counterpart Lotay Tshering. In his media statement, Modi said hydro power cooperation with Bhutan is a key aspect of bilateral ties and that work on the Mangdechhu project will soon be completed.

Tshering arrived here on Thursday on his first foreign visit after taking charge as PM of the Himalayan nation last month following his party’s victory in the general elections. Modi said he has assured the Bhutanese prime minister that India, as a trusted friend, will continue to play an important role in Bhutan’s development. India will contribute Rs 4,500 crore in Bhutan’s 12th five-year plan, Modi said.

Tshering on his part noted that Prime Minister Modi was the first head of state to to congratulate him on his electoral victory. He also thanked India for its continued support to his country’s developmental needs. The new five-year plan of Bhutan began this year and will continue till 2022. Earlier in the day, Tshering was accorded a ceremonial welcome at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj also called on the Bhutanese premier this morning. Swaraj congratulated Tshering on the assumption of the high office of Bhutan’s prime minister and the two leaders had a “warm exchange of views” on important aspects of the bilateral relationship, Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said.

NMC imparts self-defence training to girls

Nagpur : Nirbhaya Beti Suraksha Abhiyan Samiti and Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) imparted marshal arts training to hundreds of girls at Reshimbagh ground recently. These girls learned the art of self-defence by trained masters. The programme was organised in memory of social worker Umesh Choube.

Zilla Parishad President Nisha Sawarkar, NMC Women and Child Welfare Committee Chief Pragati Patil, ESI Corporation member S P Tiwari, Dr Meena Deshmukh, Prachi Balgote, Vijaya Marotkar and others were present.

Shabbir Ahmed Vidrohi, Chairman of Choube Vichar Manch presided over the function. All the dignitaries appreciated the programme of giving self-defence training to girls. Introductory remarks given by Gyaneshwar Gurav, President of committee.

Dr Veena Raut compered the programme while Sanjay Katakmwar, Working President, proposed a vote of thanks. नागपुरात थर्टी फर्स्टसाठी वाहतूक पोलिसांचा बंदोबस्त

नागपूर : नवीन वर्षाचे काउंटडाउन सुरू झाले आहे. थर्टी फर्स्टदरम्यान कोणतीही अनुचित घटना व अपघात घडू नये, यासाठी वाहतूक शाखा पोलिसांनी बंदोबस्ताची चोख आखणी केली आहे. थर्टी फर्स्टदरम्यान मद्यपी मोटरसायकलस्वार वाहतूक पोलिसांच्या रडारवर असतील, अशी माहिती वाहतूक शाखेचे उपायुक्त राजतिलक रोशन यांनी गुरुवारी पत्रपरिषदेत दिली. ते म्हणाले, ‘२३ डिसेंबरपासूनच वाहतूक पोलिसांनी विशेष मोहीम सुरू केली आहे. चार दिवसांत १२ हजार वाहनचालकांविरुद्ध कारवाई करण्यात आली.

३१ डिसेंबरला दुपारी ४ वाजतापासून वाहतूक पोलिस रस्त्यावर तैनात करण्यात येतील. मद्यपी वाहनचालकांसह जोरजोराने हॉन वाजिविणारे व सुसाट मोटरसायकल चालविणाऱ्या वाहनचालकांविरुद्ध कारवाई करण्यात येणार आहे. स्थानिक पोलिस स्टेशनमधील पोलिस कर्मचाऱ्यांसह या दिवशी वाहतूक शाखेचे ६७१ कर्मचारी ठिकठिकाणी तैनात करण्यात येणार आहे. उपराजधानीत शंभर ठिकाणी पोलिसांचे फिक्स पॉइन्ट राहतील.

सीताबर्डी, सक्करदरा, पाचपावली, मेहंदीबाग, जरीपटका व मंगळवारी येथील उड्डाणपूल वाहतुकीसाठी बंद करण्यात येतील. फुटाळा तलाव व वेस्ट हायकोर्ट रोडवर सर्वाधिक पोलिस बंदोबस्त राहील, असेही रोशन यांनी सांगितले.

नागपूर : रायगडच्या जिल्हाधिकारी, पुणे महापालिकेच्या अतिरिक्त आयुक्तपदी काम केलेल्या शीतल उगले यांची आता नागपूर सुधार प्रन्यासच्या सभापती म्हणून नेमणूक करण्यात आली आहे.

उगले या भारतीय प्रशासकीय सेवेतील (आयएएस) २००९च्या बॅचच्या अधिकारी आहेत. रायगडच्या जिल्हाधिकारी म्हणून शीतल उगले यांनी काम केले आहे. पुणे महापालिकेत अतिरिक्त आयुक्त म्हणून त्या कार्यरत होत्या. उगले यांचा कारभार मनपानी असल्याचे सांगत त्यांना हटविण्यासाठी भाजपच्या ९८ पैकी तब्बल ७० नगरसेवकांनी स्वाक्षरी अभियान राबविले. महापालिकेच्या ताब्यात असलेल्या काही समित्यांच्या निर्णयांना उगले यांनी विरोध केला होता. या वादाच्या पार्श्वभूमीवर उगळे यांची नागपूर सुधार प्रन्यासच्या सभापतिपदी नेमणूक झाली आहे.

‘एनएमआरडीए’च्या आयुक्तपदी मुद्गलच

नागपूर सुधार प्रन्यास बरखास्तीचा निर्णय झाला आहे. नासुप्रचा सर्व कारभार महापालिकेकडे हस्तांतरित करण्याची प्रक्रिया सुरू आहे. सध्या नासुप्रचे सभापती म्हणून अश्विन मुद्गल यांच्याकडे जबाबदारी आहे. शहराबाहेरील ७१९ गावांसाठी म्हणजे मेट्रोरिजनसाठी एनएमआरडीए म्हणजे नागपूर महानगर विकास प्राधिकरण निर्माण करण्यात आले आहे. या महानगराच्या आयुक्तपदी सध्या अश्निन मुद्गल आहेत. उगले यांनी नेमणूक केवळ नासुप्र सभापती म्हणून झाल्याचे सूत्रांनी सांगितले.

नागपूर : फेसबुकवरून ओळखी झाल्यानंतर प्रेमाच्या जाळ्यात ओढून तरुणीवर फेसबुक फ्रेंड्‌सने बलात्कार केला. या प्रकरणी तरुणीच्या तक्रारीवरून अजनी पोलिसांनी गुन्हा दाखल केला आहे. अनिकेत चंद्रशेखर तिरपुडे (20, रा. श्रमजीवीनगर) असे आरोपीचे नाव आहे.

पीडित 20 वर्षीय तरुणी आयटीआय अभ्यासक्रमाचे शिक्षण घेत आहे. तर आरोपीही शिक्षण घेत असून, मैत्रिणीमार्फत तिची आरोपीशी ओळख झाली होती. 2016 मध्ये त्याने फेसबुकवर तिला फ्रेन्ड रिक्‍वेस्ट पाठवली. फेसबुकवरून ते एकमेकांशी बोलू लागले. जानेवारी 2017 पासून त्यांच्या भेटीगाठी वाढल्या.

प्रेमात आकंठ बुडाल्यानंतर तिने त्याला लग्नाची मागणी घातली. त्याने होकार दिला. त्यानंतर पुढच्या वर्षी लग्न करू, असे आमिष दाखवून तिच्याशी वारंवार शारीरिक संबंध प्रस्थापित केले. स्वतःच्या घरी वेळोवेळी तिला जबरदस्तीने बोलावून शारीरिक संबंध प्रस्थापित करत होता. त्यामुळे तिने त्याला लग्नाची गळ घातली. मात्र, त्याने लग्नास नकार दिला. त्यामुळे पीडित तरुणीने त्याच्याशी संबंध तोडण्याचा प्रयत्न केला.

मात्र, तो तिच्या घरी येऊन बदनामी करण्याची धमकी देऊन शारीरिक संबंधासाठी जबरदस्ती करीत होता. बदनामीपोटी तरुणीने आतापर्यंत हा सर्व प्रकार सहन केला. मात्र, आरोपी अनिकेतच्या मागण्या वाढत असल्याने तिने अजनी पोलिसांत तक्रार दिली. पोलिसांनी तक्रारीवरून गुन्हा दाखल केला आहे. अद्याप आरोपीला अटक झाली नसून, त्याचा शोध सुरू आहे.

९९ वे अखिल भारतीय मराठी नाटय़ संमेलन नागपुरात

नागपुर : अखिल भारतीय मराठी नाटय़ परिषदेच्या वतीने आयोजित ९९ वे अखिल भारतीय मराठी नाटय़ संमेलन यंदा नागपूरमध्ये २२ ते २५ फेब्रुवारीदरम्यान होणार आहे. मुंबईत झालेल्या नाटय़ परिषदेच्या नियामक मंडळाच्या बैठकीत ही घोषणा करण्यात आली. ३२ वर्षांनी नाटय़ संमेलन आयोजित करण्याचा मान विदर्भाला मिळाला आहे.

नाटय़ संमेलनाच्या अध्यक्षांची घोषणा झाली, परंतु स्थळाबाबत निर्णय झाला नव्हता. यावर्षी नाटय़ संमेलनासाठी ९ प्रस्ताव आले होते. त्यापैकी सात स्थळांनी प्रस्ताव आधीच मागे घेतले. त्यामुळे लातूर आणि नागपूर अशी दोन स्थळे स्पर्धेत होती. गुरुवारी नाटय़ परिषदेच्या मध्यवर्ती शाखेच्या नियामक मंडळाच्या बैठकीत नागपूरवर शिक्कामोर्तब करण्यात आले. अखिल भारतीय मराठी नाटय़ परिषद नागपूर शाखा या संमेलनाचे आयोजन करणार आहे.

दरम्यान, नाटय़ संमेलन नागपूरला घेण्याचे निश्चित झाले असून शहरातील कलावंतांमध्ये उत्साहाचे वातावरण आहे. कुठलेही वाद न होता सर्वाना विश्वासात घेऊन नाटय़ संमेलन यशस्वी करू, असा विश्वास नाटय़ परिषद नागपूर शाखेचे अध्यक्ष प्रफुल फरकसे आणि मध्यवर्ती शाखेचे उपाध्यक्ष नरेश गडेकर यांनी व्यक्त केला. नागपुरात सुरेश भट सभागृह आणि रेशीमबाग मैदान या ठिकाणी नाटय़ संमेलन होणार आहे.

३३ वर्षांनंतर पुन्हा बहुमान

विदर्भात यापूर्वी १९१२ मो.वि. जोशी यांच्या अध्यक्षतेखाली अमरावतीला, १९३९ मध्ये कारखानीस यांच्या अध्यक्षतेखाली नागपूरला, १९६२ मध्ये शं.नी. चाफेकर यांच्या अध्यक्षतेखाली नागपूरला, १९७५ मध्ये भालचंद्र पेंढारकर यांच्या अध्यक्षतेखाली यवतमाळला, १९८२ मध्ये पं. वसंतराव देशपांडे यांच्या अध्यक्षतेखाली अकोल्याला आणि १९८५ मध्ये प्रभाकर पणशीकर यांच्या अध्यक्षतेखाली नागपूरला संमेलन झाले होते. आता १९८५ नंतर विदर्भात २२ ते २५ फेब्रुवारी २०१९ मध्ये ज्येष्ठ नाटककार प्रेमानंद गज्वी यांच्या अध्यक्षतेखाली ३३ वर्षांनंतर नाटय़ संमेलन होत आहे.

Fast-bowler Jasprit Bumrah has added a new feather into his illustrious cap after he broke a 39-year-old Indian record during the third day of the third Test against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Friday.

Bumrah was chief architect of Australia’s top-order collapse in the first two sessions of the day and because of his exploits, the star pacer has now surpassed Dileep Doshi to take the top spot in the list of most wickets taken by an Indian bowler in debut calendar year.

In total, Bumrah scalped six wickets in the innings and was responsible for India taking a 292-run lead in the match. Former Australia skipper Michael Clarke heaped praise on the Indian seamer and said that he will go onto become the top-ranked bowler in the longest format as well.

‘शिवपुत्र संभाजी’ : प्रतिसादामुळे वाढविले दोन दिवसांचे प्रयोग

नागपूर : माध्यम लोकसेवा प्रतिष्ठान व मोहन मते मित्र परिवार यांच्यावतीने आयोजित करण्यात आलेल्या ऐतिहासिक महानाट्य ‘शिवपुत्र संभाजी‘चे प्रयोग आणखी दोन दिवस वाढविण्यात आले आहेत. नागपूरकरांनी दिलेल्या प्रतिसादामुळे आता रविवारपर्यंत नागपूरकरांना महानाट्य बघता येणार असल्याचे आयोजकांनी सांगितले.

महाराजा शंभू छत्रपती प्रॉडक्शन, पुणेनिर्मित ऐतिहासिक महानाट्य शिवपुत्र संभाजी चे प्रयोग २२ डिसेंबरपासून ते २८ डिसेंबरपर्यंत आयोजित करण्यात आले होते. सर्वांसाठी नि:शुल्क असलेल्या या महानाट्याला नागपूरांनी भरघोस प्रतिसाद दिला. या प्रतिसादामुळे आता २९ आणि ३० डिसेंबर असे दोन दिवस प्रयोग वाढविण्यात आले आहेत.

शिवशंभू शाहीर महेंद्र महाडिक लिखित, दिग्दर्शित या महानाट्यात संभाजींच्या भूमिकेत डॉ. अमोल कोल्हे आहेत. रवी पटवर्धन औरंगजेबाची भूमिका साकारत आहेत. चिन्मय सत्यजित यांनी या नाटकाला संगीत दिले असून, गीत अॅड. महेंद्र महाडिक, दत्तात्रय सोनवणे, रोहित पंडित यांनी लिहिले आहे. महानाट्यासाठी रेशीमबाग मैदानावर १३० फुटांचा भव्य रंगमंच उभारण्यात आला आहे. ८० फूट लांब व ५५ फूट उंच किल्ल्याची सरकती व फिरती हुबेहूब प्रतिकृती तयार करण्यात आली आहे.

Singers recreate magic of Rafi’s songs for Shammi Kapoor

Nagpur: The audience at Scientific Society Hall, Laxmi Nagar, was given a melodious treat as singers presented songs of Mohammad Rafi featured on Bollywood actor Shammi Kapoor, on Wednesday.

Harmony Events had organized the musical programme titled ‘Hits of Mohammad Rafi for Shammi Kapoor’ to mark the birth anniversary of the legendary singer.

Super hit songs like ‘Yeh chand sa roshan chehera’, ‘Aye gulbadan’, ‘O mere sona re’, ‘Dil ke zharokhe mein’, ‘Aaja aaja main hu pyar tera’, ‘Akele akele kaha ja rahe ho’, ‘Tumne mujhe dekha’ and ‘Meri mohabbat jawa rahegi’ were some of the songs that delighted the audience.

Duet performances like ‘Isharo isharo mein dil dene wale’, ‘Din sara gujara tere angna’, ‘Saar pe topi lal haath mein’, and ‘Aaj kal tere mere pyaar ke charche har juban par’ had the audience in high spirits.

The songs were presented by Jyotiraman Ayyar from Delhi and Akanksha Nagarkar. The accompanying artistes were Mahendra Dhole (keyboard), Ashok Tokalwar (tabla), Gohne (octopad), Amar Shende (violin), Rajesh Dhamankar (congo), Prasanna Wankhede (guitar), Raju Gajbhiye (drums) and Amit Hattithele (saxophone).

Anchor Shweta Shelgaonkar made the event lively by sharing a few incidents from the life of Rafi and his love for music. She also spoke about the bonding between Rafi and Shammi and how it made waves in the golden era of India music.

महानायक अमिताभ बच्चन की एक झलक पाने के लिए फैन्स ने रोकी कार

नागपुर : गुरुवार को फिल्म “झुंड” की शूटिंग महाराज बाग के पास विद्यापीठ कैम्पस में की गई। कैम्पस में शूटिंग के दौरान लगभग ३-४ घंटे अमिताभ बच्चन सेट पर नजर आए।

शहर के महाराज बाग के पास विद्यापीठ कैम्पस में गुरुवार को नागराज मंजुले निदेशित फिल्म झुंड की शूटिंग की गई इस दौरान जैसे ही बिग बी की व्हाइट मर्सिडीज अमिताभ के फैन्स ने देखी, सभी उनकी एक झलक के लिए जमा हो गए। इसी बीच उनके बाउंसर्स ने लोगों के साथ धक्का-मुक्की भी की। इस बात से फैन्स को गुस्सा आ गया।

नागराज मंजुले निदेशित फिल्म झुंड की शूटिंग शहर के विभिन्न स्थानों पर की जा रही है। प्राप्त जानकारी के अनुसार कैम्पस के अंदर पुलिस स्टेशन का सेट बनाया गया है, यहां सदर पुलिस स्टेशन के नाम का बोर्ड लगा है। जिसमें बिग बी ने शूटिंग की। बिग बी का शॉट दोपहर ढाई बजे शुरू हुआ, जो शाम ५ बजे तक चला। इस दौरान महाराज बाग रोड पर लोगो की आवाजाहीं पर भी रोक लगा दी गई। जब बिग बी की गाड़ी वहां से गुजरी तो लोग उनको देखने के लिए ठहर गए। यह देखकर बिग बी के बाउंसर्स ने बद्तमीजी भी की। जिससे गुस्साए लोगो ने बिग बी की गाड़ी को आगे जाने से रोक दिया।

जब बिग बी ने फैन्स को गाड़ी के अंदर से अभिवादन किया, तो फैन्स ने बिग बी की बात मानते हुए रास्त छोड़ दिया। फिल्म झुंड की शूटिंग शहर के अलग-अलग स्थानों पर की जा रही है। सबसे पहले बिग बी के शॉट मोहन नगर स्थित सेंट जॉन स्कूल में फिल्माए गए। उसके बाद बूटी बोरी में बिग बी लोगों को नजर आए। फिर पांजरा स्थित चौबीतकर के घर फिल्म झुंड के शॉट लिए गए। अब महाराजबाग स्थित विद्यापीठ कैम्पस में फिल्म के सीन लिए जा रहे हैं।

GMC, Mayo, Daga, ESIC hospitals in Nagpur declared unsafe

कोविड रुग्णालयांना दिलासा; दोन लाखांवरील बिलं रोखीने घेण्यास मूभा

Nagpur: The prominent government most of the private healthcare and institutions in Nagpur are far behind when it comes to implementing fire safety norms set by Fire Department. All of them have issued a notice by the department seeking implementation fire safety measures. These include prominent Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Mayo, Daga, ESIC hospitals along with few private hospitals.

It’s been barely a week since a fire broke out at the ESIC Kamgar Hospital at Marol in suburban Andheri in Mumbai which claimed 8 lives including a two-month-old baby and injuring 145 patients and visitors, as there was only one exit and the other was blocked due to some construction work. Moreover the glass facade and limited ventilation posed severe challenges to the fire fighting team.

However it seems that the medical institutions in the city have not learnt any lessons. NMC’s Fire Department has recently conducted a fire audit of GMC, Mayo, Daga and ESIC hospitals in the city and all of them are found to be lacking fire safety norms.

It is likely to mentioned that Fire Department had already issued an order against ESIC hospital in the city of snapping electric and water supply for not acting accordingly and also issued letters to Mayo and Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) giving them ultimatum before issuing the similar notice.

In the year 2018, the Fire Department conducted inspection at total of 217 medical institutions in the city where 88 were found to be adhering to the norms, while 54 were directed to modify their constructions.

Fire department issued notice to total 36 healthcare centers that were violating section 8.2 of fire safety and 26 were found of violating section 5.

Total 38 institutions were served a water and power snapping notice, where Fire department directed 10 healthcares to shut down their institution and initiated action to cancel their licences.

Maharashtra govt to implement 7th Pay Commission from Jan 1

Maharashtra government employees got new year gift from the government, as it approved 7th pay commission and will implement the same from January 1. The decision to implement the 7th pay commission was approved by the state cabinet in a meeting held on Thursday.

Retired bureaucrat KP Bakshi committee had prepared a report regarding the implementation of 7th Pay Commission for government employees. Maharashtra government approved K.P. Bakshi committee’s report. Therefore, the salary of government employees will increase from Rs 5,000 to Rs 14,000. The average pay increase has been 23% in the 7th Pay Commission. More than 17 lakh employees and 7 lakh pensioners will get the benefit of this. The pay revision will put an annual burden of about Rs. 21,530 crore the on Maha government.

Earlier on November 30, Minister of state for finance Deepak Kesarkar had announced that the 7th pay commission would be implemented from January. This has now got the cabinet’s nod. The 7th pay commission will be applicable from 1st January 2019.

Employees will get the arrears of the last three years in five installments. The outstanding amount will be credited to the employee’s provident fund.

The film has been generating lot of buzz owing to the striking resemblance of its characters with the real life counterparts. Kher has transformed himself into looking like Manmohan and has adapted his mannerisms quite well.

In the film, Akshaye Khanna plays Sanjaya Baru who was the media advisor of Manmohan Singh. it looks like Akshaye’s character is also playing the narrator in the film as we see him breaking the fourth wall and interacting with the viewers. The film delves deep into the internal politics of the Congress party and how Manmohan Singh found himself in the middle of it.

While German actor Suzanne Bernert plays Sonia Gandhi, Aahana Kumara will be seen as Priyanka Gandhi. Arjun Mathur plays Rahul Gandhi in The Accidental Prime Minister. The film is helmed by debutant Vijay Ratnakar Gutte.

The Accidental Prime Minister releases on January 11.

टेकडी गणपतीला मिळणार डिफेंसची जागा!

नागपूर : टेकडी गणेश मंदिराच्या विस्तार आणि नुतनीकरणासाठी जागेच्या संदर्भात केंद्रीयमंत्री नितीन गडकरी यांनी दिल्ली येथे संरक्षणमंत्री निर्मला सीतारामन यांच्या उपस्थितीत संबंधित अधिकाऱ्यांची बैठक बोलावून चर्चा केली. नागपूरचे आद्य देवत असलेल्या टेकडी गणेश मंदिराची जागा संरक्षण विभागाची आहे. मंदिराचे बांधकाम जीर्ण झाले आहे. ते पाडण्यातसुद्धा आले आहे. मात्र जागा संरक्षण विभागाची असल्याने मंदिराच्या उभारणीत अनेक अडचणी आहेत.

याशिवाय वाहतुकीला अडथळा होत असलेला टेकडी गणेश मंदिरासमोरील उड्डाणपूल पाडण्यात येणार आहे. त्याऐवजी खाली प्रशस्त रस्ता तयार केला जाणार आहे. याकरिता सुमारे पावणे दोनशे कोटींचा निधी मंजूर झाला आहे. याकरिता संरक्षण विभागाची मंजुरी लागणार आहे. यावर बांधकाम व इतर कामे करायची असल्यास ही जागा महापालिकेला हस्तांतरित करावी लागणार आहे. यासाठी नितीन गडकरी यांनी संरक्षण मंत्री निर्मला सीतारामण यांच्या अध्यक्षतेत संरक्षण विभागाची बैठक घेतली. यात झिरो माईलच्याही विकासावर चर्चा झाली. नागपूरसह महाराष्ट्रातील पुणे विमानतळ, अहमदनगर बायपास हे विषयसुद्धा चर्चेला घेण्यात आले. गडकरी यांच्या निवासस्थानी झालेल्या बैठकीला राज्याचे अन्न व नागरी पुरवठा मंत्री गिरीशबापट, ऊर्जा तसेच नागपूरचे पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे केंद्र व राज्य शासनाचे वरिष्ठ अधिकारी यावेळी उपस्थित होते.

Land acquisition delaying Kamptee Road Metro

Nagpur : MahaMetro officials fear that they may not be able to meet the target of completing Nagpur Metro by December 2019 due to problems in Reach 2 (Sitabuldi to Automotive Square). National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is yet to sanction the design and estimate of the double decker flyover on Kamptee Road.

The file was submitted by MahaMetro over an year ago. The Metro agency is building the structure on behalf of NHAI. Work on the flyover has started but is progressing at a slow pace on one end. MahaMetro has already spent Rs100 crore on the Rs750 crore flyover but NHAI is yet to pay a single penny. Land acquisition is the major hurdle in construction of the 4.5 kilometre long flyover.

“MahaMetro needs about 4,000 square metre land near Gaddigodam Square for construction of the ramp of the structure. As per NHAI norms, the agency does not acquire land inside municipal limits. Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) was asked to bear the cost of acquiring the land,” said a source in MahaMetro.

As NMC is cash-strapped it decided to seek funds from state government under Nagar Utthan Yojana. Under this scheme the civic agency would pay 30% while remaining 70% will be borne by the state government. Municipal commissioner had issued a letter to NHAI in this regard. However, NHAI wants a letter from district collector assuring that government would pay its 70% share. Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari had asked collector Ashwin Mudgal to expedite the matter. The Metro source said that Kamptee Road is 20 metre wide at the place where the ramp will come up.

“We need 35m. Our column will occupy 3m and the ramp will be 15m wide. As per NHAI norms, the service road besides the ramp should be 7.5m on both sides plus there should be a 1m wide footpath on both sides,” he added.

“We need to acquire 150m stretch on Kamptee Road on both sides. Earlier, it was 250m but we reduced the length by making the increasing the gradient of the ramp. It can’t be minimized further,” said the source.

Nagpur : Apparently with an eye on the ensuing election of Lok Sabha slated next year, Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has directed all the developmental agencies to complete pending development work in city at the earliest, with proper planning and within stipulated time.

Gadkari also directed administration to start preparation to perform bhoomipujan of ambitious Orange City Street and to dedicate second phase of Ram Jhula on January 19.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also will be present at both the functions. Addressing a meeting of institutional heads at Vanamati meeting hall on Monday, Gadkari said, “It is necessary to meet all the demands of citizens to provide basic amenities including better cement roads, flyovers and Nagpur Metro. All the institutions should complete their work with more sincerity and honesty.” Taking review of widening of road works including road stretches from Sunil Hotel to Mayo Hospital, Kelibag road, Railway Station to Jaistambh Square and Manas Square, Gadkari said, Central Governmenthas sanctionedRs 234 crore for widening of Railway Station road.

Nagpur Maha Metro will complete the construction work. TheUnionMinisteralsosaid, NHAI should also give a momentum to construction of flyover and road between Bhandara road to Pardi flyover. Referring to recent agreement between NMC and Maha Metro about construction of Metro Mall,the Union Minister hoped that Maha Metro will start construction work on 3,308 sq mt land at the earliest.

Further,Gadkari said,Railway should ensure its third and fourth railway track while giving land titles toslum-dwellers. He said, NMC should start distribution of land titles of 15 slumsoverits land and also distribute land titles to slums dwellers situated over Nazul land. Referring to pending works of cement roads, he issued an ultimatum to authorities and executing agencies to complete cement construction work of Ring Road by March 31.

Taking reviewo fun developed layouts in the city, Gadkari directed NMC to take possession of all the layouts immediately and provide basic amenities like water, road and other things. NMC should resolve all the complaints of the citizens. Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, MLAs Sudhakar Kohle, Krishna Khopde, Mayor Nanda Jichkar, Standing Committee Chairman Virendra Kukreja, Deputy Mayor Deepraj Pardikar, Maha Metro MD Dr Brijesh Dixit, Divisional Commissioner Dr Sanjeev Kumar, District Collector Ashwin Mudgal, Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar, Central Railway DRM SSUppal, PWD Chief Engineer Ulhas Debadwar and Smart City CEO Dr Ramnath Sonwane were present.

Senior officers of Nagpur Municipal Corporation(NMC), Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT), Maha Metro, Public Works Department, and National Highway Authority of India(NHAI)also were present. Maha Metro to demolish railway station flyover MAHA Metro will demolishthe flyover in front of Railway Station flyover. First, it will demolish approaches of both the sides and leaving the shops untouched at this stage. Later, Maha Metro will construct a commercial complex over the land of MP Bus Stand to shift these shopkeepers.Thework is likely to start in New Year.

Town Planning Department Nitin Gadkari also blasted Town Planning Department of NMC for its abysmal failure in sanctioning building plans.The building plans of Nagpur Metro, several construction schemes are pending for last six months. He said, Municipal Commissioner should initiate action of suspension against negligent officerfordereliction in duty. Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said, Town Planning Department did not clear the proposal of Distric.

नागपूर : बेलतरोडी पोलिस ठाण्याच्या हद्‌दीतील एका पॉश इमारतीत सुरू असलेल्या सेक्‍स रॅकेटवर गुन्हे शाखा पोलिसांनी छापा घातला. या छाप्यात देहव्यापार करणाऱ्या एका महिलेची पोलिसांनी सुटका केली. तर महिलेला पैशाचे आमिष दाखवून शरीरविक्री करण्यास भाग पाडणाऱ्या युगुलाला पोलिसांनी अटक केली. वैशाली राजू माकडे (वय (रा. अनंतनगर) आणि दीपक देवीदास राठोड (रा. बारशिंगी, यवतमाळ) अशी अटक केलेल्या आरोपींची नाव आहेत.

गेल्या काही महिन्यांपासून गुन्हे शाखेचे उपायुक्‍त संभाजी कदम यांनी सेक्‍स रॅकेटवर छापेमारी सुरू केली होती. त्यामुळे देहव्यापार करणारे दलाल शहराबाहेर व्यवसायाला लागले होते. शहरात बेलतरोडी पोलिस ठाण्याच्या हद्‌दीत कस्तुरी नगरी येथील फ्लॅटमध्ये वैशाली माकडे आणि तिचा प्रियकर दीपक राठोड हे सेक्‍स रॅकेट चालवित होते. व्हॉट्‌सऍप आणि फोनवरून आंबटशौकींना मुली पुरवित होते. डीसीपी कदम यांना माहिती मिळताच आज बुधवारी दुपारी चार वाजता सापळा रचला. बनावट ग्राहक वैशालीकडे पाठविला. तिने सौदा पक्‍का करीत एका महिलेला फ्लॅटवर बोलावले. ग्राहकासोबत तिला पाठवताच पोलिसांनी छापा घातला. यावेळी महिलेला ताब्यात घेण्यात आले तर वैशाली आणि दिपकला अटक करण्यात आली.

भाव झाले चौपट
गुन्हे शाखेचा वचक असल्यामुळे मुख्य दलालांनी देहव्यापार बंद केला. मात्र, काहींनी चोरून-लपून सेक्‍स रॅकेट सुरू केले. आंबटशौकींनाना हेरून युवतींना पुरविण्याचे चौपट पैसे दलाल घेत होते. वैशालीनेही व्यवसायातील मंदीचा फायदा घेत बक्‍कल पैसा कमविल्याची माहिती पोलिसांनी दिली. पोलिसांचा छापा पडू नये म्हणून, दलाल योग्य ती काळजी घेतल्यानंतरही छापे पडत आहेत.

The trailer of Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga starring Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Sonam Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao has been dropped online.

The trailer is simple and sweet, with an unusual love story, that of Sonam Kapoor’s character, Sweety. She harbours a deep secret in her heart that may not receive straight acceptance from her family and society. Rajkummar who plays Sonam’s confidante is head-over-heels in love with her, ready to support her in every which way that he can. But, Sonam has something else on her mind, which we shall know when the movie releases.

Another highlight of the trailer is Anil and Juhi’s relationship. The former is a married man and although it isn’t clear, reports so far suggest that the two seem to be having an affair. We also see the strained relationship between a father and daughter. This is the first time that Anil Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor have shared screen space as reel life father-daughter.

Interestingly, it’s after 23 years that Anil Kapoor has collaborated with Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Their last movie was 1942: A Love Story (1994), the most popular song of which is the title of this film.

The movie directed by Shelly Chopra Dhar and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra in association with Fox Star Studios will release on February 1, 2019.
