नागपुर : दक्षिण मध्य क्षेत्र सांस्कृतिक केंद्र ने परिसर में 26 दिसंबर से 4 जनवरी 2019 तक “भित्तिचित्र कार्यशाला‘ का आयोजन किया है। कार्यशाला का उद्घाटन बुधवार को केंद्र के उपनिदेशक मोहन पारखी, कार्यक्रम अधिकारी गोपाल बेतावर की उपस्थिति में किया गया। भारतवर्ष के विविध राज्यों की आदिवासी शिल्पकला, चित्रकला का प्रचार-प्रसार तथा युवा पीढ़ी को इस कलाशैली से अवगत कराना कार्यशाला का उद्देश्य है।
कार्यशाला में केंद्र के सहभागी राज्यों के आदिवासी कलाकारों को आमंत्रित किया गया है, जिसमे छत्तीसगढ़ के रजवाड आदिवासी शैली, मध्यप्रदेश की माडिया आदिवासी शैली तथा मंडला आदिवासी शैली, झाबुआ की भील आदिवासी शैली, महाराष्ट्र की वारली आदिवासी शैली आदि कला शैली के कुल 40 कलाकारों द्वारा केंद्र परिसर में स्थायी रूप में निर्मित आदिवासी झोंपड़ी का दुरुस्तीकरण, रंगरोगन तथा म्यूरल पेंटिंग आदि नवीनीकरण कार्य आरंभ किया जा रहा है। कार्यशाला में सहभागी होने की इच्छा रखने वाले इन आदिवासी कलाकारों के साथ में चित्रांकन तथा शिल्पांकन कार्य कर अपना सहयोग दे सकते हैं। कार्यशाला पूर्णतः नि:शुल्क हैै। कार्यशाला प्रतिदिन सुबह 11 से शाम 7 बजे तक होगी।

Nagpur : A joint team of Dhantoli Police and State Excise Department on Wednesday unearthed a spurious liquor manufacturing unit in posh Dhantoli residential area which was allegedly set up by Congress worker Munna Jaiswal.
The illicit liquor manufactured in the unit was being supplied in Nagpur and to ‘dry’ districts Gadchiroli, Chandrapur and Wardha. The premises came under the police scanner after a truck loaded with liquor boxes worth Rs 5.50 lakh was seized by Dhantoli police on Dhantoli garden road near Balbharati office on Wednesday at 5.24 am.
A team of State Excise Department visited the police station in the afternoon and discovered that the bottles were containing spurious liquor. The police and Excise Department immediately activated their informers. On the basis of specific tip-off, the joint team raided the premises of Jaiswal situated just in front of his house in Dhantoli in the evening. The raiding party noticed a large numbers of empty bottles of foreign liquor and packed bottles of Haryana made liquor. The police also found boxes of lid of various foreign liquor brands in a room.
Keshav Chaoudhary, Inspector, State Excise Department informed that Jaiswal was running the spurious liquor manufacturing unit under the garb of tailoring unit and cattle shed. He was importing cheap liquor from Haryana and packing it into bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor bands.
The excise department team seized illicit liquor worth Rs 1.50 lakh and a mini truck from the premises. A person named Vinay Jaiswal, a relative of Munna Jaiswal,was arrested by the team. Preliminary investigation revealed that some Beer Bar owners were supplying empty liquor bottles to Jaiswal. As Jaiswal was using original bottles of branded liquor with lid and seal, it was difficult for anyone to suspects geniuses of the liquor. Dinesh Shede, Police Inspector, Dhantoli and Excised Department staff including Inspector Keshav Choudhary, and 2nd Inspectors Umesh Shirpate and Rao saheb Kore and others took part in the raid. Dhantoli police registered a case under Sections 65 9a) (d), 83 (b) of the Bombay Prohibition Act. Meanwhile, Munna Jaiswal has circulated a video message on social media blaming his employees for illegal storage of liquor on his property.

नागपुर : नक्सल समर्थन के मामले में दोषी पाए गए और नागपुर मध्यवर्ती कारागृह में उम्रकैद की सजा काट रहे प्रोफेसर जी.एन. साईबाबा को आज सुबह पुलिस की कड़ी सुरक्षा में शहर के सुपर स्पेशयलिटी हॉस्पिटल में स्वस्थ जांच के लिए भेजा गया l बता दे साईबाबा को बॉम्बे हाईकोर्ट की नागपुर खंडपीठ ने २६ दिसंबर को शहर के सुपर स्पेशलिटी अस्पताल में अपने तीन निजी चिकित्सकों से चेकअप कराने की अनुमति दी थी । लेकिन राज्य सरकार ने इस पर आपत्ति जताते हुए हाईकोर्ट में अर्जी दायर की थी ।
सरकारी वकील सत्यनाथन ने कोर्ट में दलील दी कि साईबाबा के पसंद के चिकित्सकों की प्रामाणिकता पर सरकार को संदेह है। सरकार ने इन तीनों की विजिलेंस रिपोर्ट निकलवाई है, और कहा कि इन्हें साईबाबा से मिलने न दिया जाए। ऐसे में सरकार ने कोर्ट को अपना आदेश वापस लेने की विनती की, मामले से सभी पक्षों को सुनने के बाद साईबाबा का चेकअप रोकने से तो इनकार कर दिया, किन्तु साईबाबा के इलाज पर ८ शर्तें लगा दीं। जिसमे कोर्ट ने आदेश जारी किए हैं कि साईबाबा के निजी चिकित्सक नागपुर के सुपर स्पेशलिटी में दो सरकारी चिकित्सकों की मौजूदगी में ही उसका इलाज करेंगे।
इस दौरान वे केवल हिंदी या अंग्रेजी में बात करेंगे। किसी प्रकार के कोड वर्ड का इस्तेमाल नहीं करेंगे। सरकार चाहे तो इस दौरान सब कुछ सीसीटीवी फुटेज में रिकॉर्ड कर सकती है। चिकित्सकों को केवल चेकअप की अनुमति होगी, कोई ऑपरेशन करने या दवा देने की नहीं। चेकअप के सारे उपकरण भी सरकारी अस्पताल ही देगा। इस दौरान निजी चिकित्सकों की तलाशी ली जाएगी, ताकि वे अंदर कोई हथियार या उपकरण न ले जा सकें। इसके अलावा सरकार चाहे तो चेकअप रूम में पुलिस नियुक्त कर सकती है। चिकित्सकों को कोर्ट द्वारा निर्धारित समय आज सुबह ११ बजे के दौरान साईबाबा को चेकअप के लिए ले जाया गया l
नागपूर : नागपूर येथील जिल्हा व सत्र न्यायालयाचे सहदिवाणी न्यायाधीश किरण देशपांडे यांना सहायक सरकारी वकील दीपेश पराते यांनी मारहाण केली. दुपारी पाऊणच्या सुमारास न्यायालय परिसरात ही घटना घडल्यानंतर एकच खळबळ उडाली. ऍड. दीपेश पराते यांच्याविरुद्ध सदर पोलिस स्टेशनमध्ये गुन्हे नोंदविण्यात आले आहेत. गेल्या आठवड्यात न्यायालयाच्या बाहेर एका वकिलावर प्राणघातल हल्ला झाला होता. या घटनेला अद्याप आठ दिवसही पूर्ण व्हायचे असताना परिसरात दुसरी घटना घडल्यामुळे विधी क्षेत्रात चिंता व्यक्त केली जात आहे.
सदर पोलिस स्टेशनचे पोलिस निरीक्षक सुनील बोंडे यांनी दिलेल्या माहितीनुसार न्यायाधीशांच्या एका निर्णयावरील नाराजीतून हा प्रकार घडला आहे. न्या. किरण देशपांडे कोर्टरूमच्या बाहेरून जात असताना ऍड. दीपेश पराते यांनी त्यांच्यावर हल्ला चढवला. अचानक घडलेल्या या प्रकारामुळे उपस्थित वकील मंडळींना काहीच सुचले नाही. पराते यांनी न्यायाधीशांना थापड मारली. त्यानंतर त्यांचा चष्मा पडला. पण वेळीच काही लोक धावून आल्यामुळे थोडक्यात निभावले. काहीच वेळात पोलिस घटनास्थळी पोहोचले आणि त्यांनी आरोपीला ताब्यात घेतले. 28 नोव्हेंबर 2018 ला न्या. किरण देशपांडे यांनी पराते यांच्या वडिलांच्या मालमत्तेसंदर्भात एक निर्णय दिला होता. या निर्णयावर पराते यांनी आपल्या मित्रांकडे नाराजीही व्यक्त केली होती.
मात्र, त्यांचा संताप वाढत गेला आणि त्यातूनच त्यांनी न्यायाधीशांना मारहाण केली, असे पोलिसांनी सांगितले. सदर पोलिस स्टेशन येथे आरोपीला नेण्यात आले. पोलिस स्टेशनमध्ये आरोपीचे नातेवाईक दाखल झाले, शिवाय वकिलांचीही या ठिकाणी गर्दी झाली होती. न्यायाधीशांना मारहाण केल्यानंतर ऍड. दीपेश पराते यांनी सहाव्या मजल्यावरून उडी घेण्याचा प्रयत्न केला. मात्र, एका पोलिस शिपायाने त्यांना रोखल्यामुळे ही घटना टळली. पोलिसांनी मात्र, वकिलाच्या आत्महत्येसंदर्भात आपण चर्चाच ऐकली असून निश्चित माहिती हाती आलेली नसल्याचे पत्रकारांशी बोलताना स्पष्ट केले.
Nagpur : In an appalling crime being reported from Nagpur, a 38-year-old man was arrested by Yashodhara Nagarpolice for kidnapping his 12-year-old stepdaughter and raping her.
The accused abducted his stepdaughter from Nagpur and then raped her at his friend’s home in Pavani area.
The victim is a Class 6 student and nine years ago, her mother had divorced her first husband and came to live in Yashodhara Nagar area of Nagpur and married the accused. However, she was soon made aware of the stark reality that he was an alcoholic and was unemployed. Soon after a few domestic arguments, the accused left the mother-daughter duo.
On December 18, the accused came to the victim’s house when she was alone. He then took the 12-year-old girl on a bike with him on pretext of taking her out. However, the accused and the victim did not return home and her mother then filed a complaint at the Yashodhara Nagar police station.
Police registered a case of abduction of minor girl and started their search operation. A special investigation team was constituted for the search operation and they got information about the accused’s sister who lived in Bhivpur.
The police team reached Bhivpur to find him or get any leads on the case. Later, they got a tip-off that the accused had been seen in Pavani area with his stepdaughter. The police team immediately reached Pavani and rescued the girl but accused had fled the scene of crime.
During the medical examination of victim, it was revealed that the 12-year-old was sexually abused by the accused. The monster father was finally nabbed after two days by the swift search operation by the cops.
The first trailer for Thackeray, a biopic on controversial politician Bal Thackeray, was released on Wednesday in the presence of his son and present Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray. The film stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the late Shiv Sena supremo, and Amrita Rao as his wife, Meena Tai Thackeray.
The trailer begins with scenes of a riot, and a voiceover. “Only one man can pacify Bombay at this time,” the voice booms, and we see shots of Nawaz as Thackeray, taking to the podium to deliver one of his famous speeches. We then see glimpses of a young Thackeray laying the seeds for what would later become the Shiv Sena, a party founded on principles of pride and division.
Controversially, the trailer also shows glimpses of the Babri Masjid demolition, and its subsequent fallout. Thackeray has been directed by Abhijit Panse and written by Shiv Sena politician Sanjay Raut. The film will be distributed by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, who promoted the trailer release with a special video in which several prominent and common Marathis spoke about the power that Thackeray wielded during his tenure as the CM of Maharashtra.
It was reported on Wednesday that film had run into trouble with the Central Board of Film Certification, who have objected to four lines of dialogue and two scenes. “Yes, they have raised objections on some dialogues and scenes, four dialogues and two scenes to be precise. We are legally dealing the matter with CBFC and we hope the matter will be sorted out soon,” Raut told. Nawaz had a strong 2018 professionally.

नागपूर : नागपूर देशात सुशिक्षित बेरोजगारांची संख्या झपाट्याने वाढत असली तरीही त्यातील कौशल्यप्राप्त विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी माहिती तंत्रज्ञान कंपन्यांनीच तारणहार ठरल्या आहेत. गेल्या वर्षभरात देशभरातील इंजिनीअरिंग कॉलेजेसमधून सुमारे एक लाख १२ हजार विद्यार्थ्यांना आयटी कंपन्यांनी ‘कॅम्पस प्लेसमेंट’ मार्फत रोजगार दिला आहे. अखिल भारतीय तंत्रशिक्षण परिषदेने वर्षभरातील विविध कोर्सेसमध्ये प्रवेश घेतलेल्या विद्यार्थ्यांच्या ‘कॅम्पस प्लेसमेंट’ची आकडेवारी जाहीर केली आहे. त्यात कॉम्प्युटर सायन्स या विषयातील विद्यार्थ्यांचे सर्वाधिक संख्येने नोकरीवर लागले आहेत. या विद्यार्थ्यांना माहिती तंत्रज्ञान क्षेत्रातील कंपन्यांनी रोजगार उपलब्ध करून दिला आहे.
कॉम्प्युटर सायन्सच्या विद्यार्थ्यांचे अधिक संख्येने प्लेसमेंट झाले असले, तरीही याच शाखांमधील निम्म्याहून अधिक विद्यार्थ्यांना कॅम्पस प्लेसमेंटमध्ये नाकारण्यात आले आहे, हे वास्तव देखील अहवालात नमूद करण्यात आले आहे. एआयसीटीईच्या आकडेवारीनुसार, गेल्या शैक्षणिक सत्रात देशभरातील इंजिनीअरिंग कॉलेजेसमध्ये पाच लाख ८७ हजार २४४ इतकी कॉम्प्युटर सायन्स विषयाची प्रवेश क्षमता होती. त्यापैकी ३ लाख २० हजार ८१ जागांवर प्रवेश देण्यात आलेत. हे प्रवेश आयआयटी ते खासगी इंजिनीअरिंग कॉलेजेसमधील आहेत. त्यामुळे याच विषयातील सुमारे दोन लाख ६७ हजार १६३ जागा शिल्लक राहिल्या होत्या. प्रवेशित विद्यार्थ्यांपैकी सुमारे १ लाख १२ हजार ७१२ विद्यार्थ्यांचे ‘कॅम्पस प्लेसमेंट’ झाले आहे.
आयटीसोबतच इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स अॅण्ड टेलिकम्युनिकेशन या विषयात सर्वाधिक संख्येने ‘कॅम्पस प्लेसमेंट’ झाले आहे. या विषयाची ५ लाख ५६ हजार २३६ इतकी प्रवेश क्षमता आहे. देशभरातील कॉलेजेसमध्ये दोन लाख ३३ हजार ८२५ विद्यार्थ्यांनी प्रवेश घेतला. त्यामुळे निम्म्या जागा रिकाम्या राहिल्या आहेत. सुमारे एक लाख ३८३ विद्यार्थ्यांना पदवी पूर्ण होताच रोजगार मिळाला आहे. इंजिनीअरिंगमध्ये इलेक्ट्रिकल इंजिनीअरिंग देखील तिसऱ्या क्रमांकाची ब्रान्च मानली जाते. या ब्रान्चची ४ लाख ४१ हजार इतकी प्रवेश क्षमता आहे. दोन लाख १५ हजार ८३ जागांवर प्रवेश देण्यात आले होते. त्यापैकी सुमारे ६९ हजार १२० विद्यार्थ्यांनाच नोकरी मिळाली आहे. त्यामुळे या तीन प्रमुख ब्रान्चेसने २ लाख ८२ हजार २१५ विद्यार्थ्यांना ‘कॅम्पस प्लेसमेंट’मार्फत नोकरी मिळवून दिली.
परंतु, याच ब्रान्चमधील निम्म्याहून अधिक विद्यार्थ्यांना रोजगार मिळालेला नाही. सिव्हिल इंजिनीअरिंगची देखील तशीच अवस्था आहे. देशभरात सुमारे पाच लाख ७ हजार ६६४ इतकी या ब्रान्चची प्रवेश क्षमता आहे. त्यापैकी २ लाख ६१ हजार ३८९ जागांवर विद्यार्थी प्रवेश झालेत. त्यापैकी केवळ ५४ हजार १०४ विद्यार्थ्यांना ‘कॅम्पस प्लेसमेंट’मार्फत नोकरी मिळाली आहे. देशात रिअर इस्टेट आणि इन्फ्रास्ट्रक्चर या दोन्ही क्षेत्रात प्रचंड प्रमाणात गुंतवणूक होत आहे. परंतु, सिव्हिल इंजिनीअरिंग करणाऱ्या विद्यार्थ्यांना त्याप्रमाणात नोकरी मिळालेली नाही. बहुतांश कंपन्या या ‘कॅम्पस प्लेसमेंट’ करीत नाहीत. त्यामुळे देखील प्लेसमेंटचे प्रमाण कमी असावे, अशी शक्यता वर्तवण्यात येत आहे. याशिवाय अनेक कॉलेजेसमध्ये प्लेसमेंट सेल देखील कार्यरत नाही. त्याचाही परिणाम प्लेंसमेंटचे प्रमाण कमी होण्यावर झाला असण्याची शक्यता आहे.

Indian golfer Jyoti Randhawa has been arrested on poaching charges in Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich. An A-22 rifle has also been recovered from him, a vehicle and other hunting equipment have been recovered from Randhawa.
The DFO Katerniaghat is currently interrogating Randhawa – further legal action will likely be taken against the golfer.
Randhawa, once one of India’s most celebrated golfers, is the ex-husband of Bollywood actress Chitrangada Singh.

Wild boar skin, binoculars and a gun were recovered from a vehicle which was registered in Randhawa’s name.
Randhawa drew suspicion upon himself after he was found driving around in Motipur in Katarniaghat where he owns a farm. He had allegedly killed a jungle fowl on Tuesday before he was intercepted in the forest.
Randhawa recently took up the sport of shooting professionally and also participated in national shooting championships.

नागपूर : एयरपोर्ट साऊथ मेट्रो स्टेशन ते खापरी मेट्रो स्टेशन दरम्यान ऍडग्रेड (जमीनस्तरावर) सेक्शनवर मेट्रोच्या जॉय राईड संकल्पनेला नागरिकांचा प्रचंड प्रतिसाद मिळत असतांनाच आता एलिव्हेटेड (जमिनीस्तरावरून उंच) सेक्शनवर देखील मेट्रो गाडीच्या संचालनाच्या दृष्टीने एयरपोर्ट मेट्रो स्टेशन ते सीताबर्डी मेट्रो जंक्शन दरम्यान मेट्रो ट्रेन चालविण्यासाठी ओव्हरहेड इलेक्ट्रीफिकेशनच्या कार्याला सुरुवात झाली आहे.
मेट्रो चालविण्यासाठी मेट्रो ट्रॅक वरून ६ मीटर पेक्षा ज्यास्त उंचीवर हे इलेक्ट्रीफिकेशन वायर बसविण्यात येतात. मेट्रो ट्रेन चालविण्यासाठी २५ हजार वोल्ट पुरवठ्याची आवश्यकता असते जी या इलेक्ट्रीफिकेशन वायरच्या माध्यमाने पूर्ण होईल. आज पहिल्या दिवशी एयरपोर्ट मेट्रो स्टेशन ते उज्वल नगर पर्यंत इलेक्ट्रीफिकेशन वायर जोडण्याचे कार्य पूर्ण करण्यात आले. एका विशिष्ठ प्रकारच्या वाहनाच्या साहाय्याने हे कार्य केले जात आहे.
आरआरव्ही (रेल कम रोड व्हेकल) प्रकारच्या गाडीच्या साहयाने मेट्रोचे इलेक्ट्रीफिकेशन वायर (क्याटनरी कंडक्टर) जोडण्याचे कार्य करण्यात येत आहे. आरआरव्ही (रेल कम रोड व्हेकल) हे वाहन दिसायला जरी साध्या ट्रक सारखे असले तरी यात इलेक्ट्रीफिकेशन वायर लावणारे उपकरण बसविण्यात आले आहे. उल्लेखनीय म्हणजे हे वाहन मेट्रो ट्रॅक वर चालू शकेल यासाठी लोखंडी चाके लावण्यात आले आहे. या वाहनाला साध्या ट्रकचे चाक लागले असल्याने हे वाहन रोड वर सुद्धा चालण्यास पूर्णपणे सक्षम असते. या वाहनांमुळे इलेक्ट्रीफिकेशन वायर जोडण्याचे कार्य वेगाने आणि वेळेत पूर्ण केले जाणार आहे.
Nagpur : Property worth over Rs eight lakh was devastated in a fire that broke out at S K Scanner & Graphic Company at Gujarwadi, Shaniwari Road,in Ganeshpeth area Tuesday evening.
Around 5 pm, fire engulfed ground and first floors of the building. A team of firefighters rushed to the spot on being informed. Three fire tenders were pressed into service. Paper, LED lights, computers, advertising umbrellas, and other material collectively worth over Rs eight lakh were gutted. Firefighters doused the flames within an hour. The company is owned by Rakesh Kinariwala.
On December 26, Google pays tribute to a social worker and activist Murlidhar Devidas Amte, affectionately known as Baba Amte with a doodle on his 104th birthday anniversary.
The picture slideshow honours the life and legacy of Baba Amte and remembers the hardships of his life. He was the man who dedicated his life to serve those in need, especially those afflicted with leprosy.
Baba Amte was born into a wealthy family in Maharashtra in 1914 but dedicated his life for the benefit of others. According to the Google blog post, “Exposed early on to a life of privilege, he would hunt wild animals, play sports and drive luxurious cars. He went on to study law and was running his own successful firm by his 20s. Despite his upbringing, however, Amte was aware of India’s class inequalities throughout his childhood.”
Amte`s life was changed forever when he encountered a man suffering from leprosy. The sight of the man`s decaying body filled him with overwhelming fear. However, he realised that the state of “mental leprosy” that allowed people to feel apathetic in the face of this dreaded affliction is far more dangerous than losing the limbs.
“A strong believer in national unity, Amte launched the first Knit India March in 1985. At age 72, he walked from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, a distance of more than 3,000 miles with the simple purpose to inspire unity in India,” Google said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated the country’s longest rail-cum-road bridge over the Brahmaputra river at Bogibeel near Dibrugarh in Assam.
The Prime Minister, who reached Dibrugarh in the afternoon from New Delhi, flew directly to Bogibeel in a chopper and dedicated the 4.94-km-long double-decker bridge to the nation from the south bank of the river.
After greeting people, standing on the foothold of his vehicle, Modi deboarded the car and walked a few metres on the bridge along with Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi and Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. The Prime Minister crossed the bridge in his cavalcade to the north bank of Brahmaputra, where he will flag off the Tinsukia-Naharlagun Intercity Express.
The train will run five days a week. The 4.9-km bridge will cut down the train-travel time between Tinsukia in Assam to Naharlagun town of Arunachal Pradesh by more than 10 hours. The strategically important bridge, which begins at Dibrugarh and ends at Dhemaji districts of Assam, will remove communication bottlenecks to several districts of Arunachal Pradesh. The Bogibeel Bridge, which was a part of the Assam Accord and sanctioned in 1997-98, is also likely to play a crucial role in defence movement along the India-China border in Arunachal Pradesh.
The foundation stone of the project was laid by former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda on January 22, 1997, while work commenced on April 21, 2002, under the Atal Behari Vajpayee-led Government. The Congress-led UPA Government had declared it a national project in 2007. December 25 happens to be Vajpayee’s birth anniversary.
Due to inordinate delay in its implementation, the cost of the project escalated by 85 per cent to Rs 5,960 crore from the sanctioned estimated cost of Rs 3,230.02 crore.
The total length of the bridge was also revised to 4.94 km from the earlier 4.31 km. The bridge is part of the infrastructure projects planned by India to improve logistics along the border in Arunachal Pradesh. “The bridge will enhance the national security of the eastern region by facilitating swift movement of defence forces and their equipment. It was constructed in such a way that even a fighter jet can land on it in case of emergency,” a source said.
A senior Army official had earlier said the biggest advantage of the bridge will be easy movement of troops from southern to northern bank. “This means travelling to the farthest most point of India’s border with China will be shortened by several hundred kilometres,” he had said.
नागपूर : एका भरधाव जीपने १३ वर्षीय विद्यार्थ्यांला पोलीस ठाण्यासमोरच चिरडल्याची घटना सोमवारी सायंकाळी ७ वाजताच्या सुमारास घडली. सागर एकनाथ मोकासे रा. ताजनगर, असे मृताचे नाव आहे. तो आठव्या वर्गात शिकत होता.
सागर याचे वडील एकनाथ यांचा हारफुलांचा व्यवसाय आहे. सागरला स्वेटर हवे होते. कोराडी पोलीस ठाण्यासमोर स्वेटर्सची दुकाने लागली आहेत. एकनाथ त्याला घेऊ न तेथे गेले. रस्ता दुभाजकाजवळ सावनेरकडे जाणाऱ्या भरधाव जीपने त्याला चिरडले. जीपसह चालक पसार झाला.
याबाबत कळताच कोराडी पोलिसांनी घटनास्थळाकडे धाव घेतली. त्याला रुग्णालयात दाखल करण्यात आले. पण, डॉक्टरांनी तपासून त्याला मृत घोषित केले. याप्रकरणी कोराडी पोलिसांनी प्राणांतिक अपघाताचा गुन्हा दाखल केला. सागरला मोठी बहीण आहे. सागरच्या मृत्यूने मोकासे कुटुंबीयांना जबर धक्का बसला आहे.
नागपूर : दोन युवकांनी एका विवाहितेवर सामूहिक बलात्कार केला. शारिरीक संबंधाची अश्लिल चित्रफित बनविली. व्हिडिओ व्हायरल करण्याची भीती दाखवून महिलेला अनेकांशी शारिरीक संबंध ठेवण्यास बाध्य करीत देहव्यापारात ढकलले. या प्रकरणी महिलेच्या तक्रारीवरून गणेशपेठ पोलिसांनी गुन्हा दाखल केला. छोटेबाबा उर्फ शहनशहा शेख शरिफ शेख (वय 27, महाल किल्ला, कोतवाली) आणि बंटी उर्फ अजय अक्षय श्रीवास (वय 27, गणेशपेठ) अशी आरोपींची नावे आहेत.
पोलिसांनी दिलेल्या माहितीनुसार, पीडित 20 वर्षीय महिला सुजाता (बदललेले नाव) हिचे जानेवारी 2018 मध्ये लग्न झाले. ती पतीसह गणेशपेठमध्ये राहते. मोलमजुरी करणारा पती दारूडा असून त्याची पानठेलाचालक बंटी श्रीवास याच्याशी ओळख झाली. तर बंटीचा मित्र आरोपी शहनशहा शेख सदरमधील एका टी शर्ट बनविणाऱ्या कंपनीत कामाला आहे. दोघेही दारू पिण्यासाठी सुजाताच्या घरी येत होते. तिच्या पतीचे मित्र असल्यामुळे त्यांचे जेवण आणि अन्य सुविधा ती पुरवित होती.
दरम्यान बंटीने तिला प्रेमाच्या जाळ्यात ओढून तिच्याशी वारंवार शारिरीक संबंध प्रस्थापित केले. त्यानंतर त्याने मित्र शहनशहा शेख यालाही सांगितले. बंटीसोबतच्या अनैतिक संबंधाबाबत पतीला सांगू का? अशी धमकी देऊन शहनशहानेही तिच्यावर बलात्कार केला. ऑक्टोबर महिन्यात दोघांनीही तिच्यावर सामूहिक बलात्कार केला. त्याचा व्हिडीओ बनविला. तो व्हिडीओ व्हायरल करण्याची धमकी देऊन तिला अन्य आंबटशौकीन मित्र आणि ग्राहकांशी शारीरिक संबंध ठेवण्यास तिला बाध्य केले. वारंवार होणाऱ्या त्रासाला कंटाळून विवाहितेने पोलिस ठाण्यात तक्रार केली. पोलिसांनी दोन्ही आरोपींना अटक केली.
नागपूर : प्रत्येक नागरिकाला स्वच्छ पाणी, चांगले रस्ते, परिसरात स्वच्छता मिळणे हा त्यांचा हक्क आहे. याच समस्या घेउनही नागरिक शासन दरबारी आपली कैफीयत मांडतात. वरवरून छोट्या वाटणा-या या समस्या सर्वसामान्य नागरिकांसाठी रोजच्या जगण्याचा संघर्ष आहेत. शासन प्रत्येक समस्यांसाठी निधी उपलब्ध करून देण्यास तयार आहे. मात्र यासाठी प्रशासनाने आपली उदासीनता झटकण्याची गरज आहे. नागरिकांची सेवा करण्याची आपल्याला संधी मिळाली असून प्रत्येक काम जबाबदारीने करा व नागरिकांच्या प्रत्येक लहानात लहान समस्यांना प्राधाने देउन ती तातडीने सोडविली जाईल यासाठी काम करा, असा सूचक इशारा पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे यांनी अधिका-यांना दिला.
नागपूर शहरातील जनतेशी थेट संवाद साधण्यासाठी, त्यांच्या समस्या व अडचणी जाणून घेण्यासाठी जिल्ह्याचे पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे यांनी महापालिका झोननिहाय जनसंवाद कार्यक्रमाचे नियोजन केले आहे. याच नियोजनांतर्गत सोमवारी (ता. २४) सतरंजीपुरा झोनमध्ये ‘जनसंवाद’ केला. यावेळी ते बोलत होते. मंचावर महापौर नंदा जिचकार, आमदार कृष्णा खोपडे, डॉ. मिलींद माने, उपमहापौर दीपराज पार्डीकर, आयुक्त अभिजीत बांगर, सतरंजीपुरा झोन सभापती यशश्री नंदनवार, परिवहन समिती उपसभापती प्रवीण भिसीकर, नगरसेवक रमेश पुणेकर, नितीन साठवणे, संजय चावरे, महेश महाजन, नगरसेविका अभिरूची राजगिरे, शकुंतला पारवे, आभा पांडे, अतिरिक्त आयुक्त राम जोशी, सहायक आयुक्त प्रकाश वराडे यांच्यासह विविध विभागांचे विभागप्रमुख व विविध शासकीय कार्यालय, तसेच ओसीडब्ल्यू, एसएनडीएलचे पदाधिकारी उपस्थित होते.
प्रारंभी अतिरिक्त आयुक्त राम जोशी यांनी सतरंजीपुरा झोनमधून १५४ तक्रारी प्राप्त झाल्याची माहिती दिली. या सर्व तक्रारी पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे यांनी ऐकून घेतल्या. त्यातील ज्या तक्रारींवर कार्यवाही झालेली आहे त्यावर तक्रारकर्ता समाधानी आहे की नाही, असे तक्रारकर्त्यांना विचारले. ज्या तक्रारींवर तक्रारकर्ता समाधानी नाही, त्यावर संबंधित अधिकाऱ्याला जाब विचारत किती दिवसात तक्रारकर्त्याचे समाधान होईल, त्याचा अवधी विचारत त्या अवधीत समाधान न झाल्यास संबंधित अधिकाऱ्यावर कठोर कारवाई करू, असा इशारा दिला.
नागरिकांच्या मुलभूत सुविधांसाठी निधीची आवश्यकता असल्यास तात्काळ सांगा, शासनाकडून तो ताबडतोब उपलब्ध करून देण्यात येईल. सतरंजीपुरा झोनमध्ये पाणी, गडर लाईनची समस्या सर्वत्र प्रामुख्याने दिसून येते. उन्हाळ्यात याची झळ जास्तच बसणार आहे. हे ओळखून आतापासून संपूर्ण विहीरींची स्वच्छता करणे तसेच आवश्यक त्या ठिकाणी बोअरवेल निर्माण करण्याचे निर्देशही पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे यांनी यावेळी दिले.
जनसंवाद कार्यक्रमात मालकी हक्काचे पट्टे मिळण्यासंदर्भातील काही अर्ज होते. त्यावर बोलताना पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे यांनी सांगितले की शासनाने १७ नोव्हेंबर २०१८ रोजी काढलेल्या आदेशानुसार यातील अडचण पूर्णपणे दूर झाली आहे. त्यामुळे नियम व अटीनुसार जे मालकी पट्ट्याचे हकदार आहेत, त्यांना लवकरच मालकी हक्काचे पट्टे मिळतील, असे ते म्हणाले. बेघरांना पंतप्रधान आवास योजनेतून हक्काचे घर मिळेल, असेही त्यांनी सांगितले. प्रारंभी सतरंजीपुरा झोनच्या सभापती यशश्री नंदनवार यांनी पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे यांचे स्वागत केले. संचालन जनसंपर्क अधिकारी अशोक कोल्हटकर यांनी केले.
आयुष्यमान योजना, सर्वांना अन्न योजनेसाठी नगरसेवकांनी पुढे या
गरीब लोकांसाठी शासनाने अनेक कल्याणकारी योजना सुरू केल्या आहेत. शासनाच्या आयुष्यमान योजनेद्वारे नागरिकांचा विमा काढण्यात येत आहे. या द्वारे कॅन्सर, किडनी, यकृत, हृदयाशी संबंधित आजारावर उपचाराचा पाच लाख रुपयांचा विमा काढला जात आहे. त्यामुळे योग्य उपचार मिळून अनेकांचे प्राण वाचणार आहेत. याशिवाय सर्वांना नेहमी अन्न मिळावे यासाठी सर्वांना अन्न पुरवठा या योजनेद्वारे ऑनलाईन प्रक्रिया केली जाणार आहे. या योजनेद्वारे केशरी शिधापत्रिका धारकांना आरसीआयडी क्रमांक ऑनलाईन करावे लागणार आहे. या दोन्ही योजनांचा नागरिकांना पुरेपुर लाभ मिळावा यासाठी प्रत्येक नगरसेवकांनी आपापल्या प्रभागातील नागरिकांना भेटून विमा काढणे तसेच प्रभागातील रेशन दुकानांमध्ये जावून ऑनलाईन करण्यासाठी शिबिर घेण्याचे आवाहनही यावेळी पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे यांनी यावेळी केले.

नागपुर : नागपुर में आज क्रिसमस के मौके पर सभी चर्चो में जश्न मनाया गया | साथ ही क्रिसमस के मौके पर पूरी दुनिया भर में जश्न मनाया जा रहा है। बता दे आधी रात को प्रभू यीशु का जन्म होते ही लोगों ने एक दूसरे को मेरी क्रिसमस कहकर बधाईयां दीं। इस मौके पर शहर कामठी रोड स्थित एस एफ एस चर्च में मिडनाइट मास का आयोजन किया गया था । इस दौरान करीब सेकड़ो लोग चर्च में जुटे। स्थानीय फादर ने बेबी जीसस की मूर्ति को चूम कर उन्होंने लोगो को बधाई दी | फादर ने अपने संदेश में लोगों को जीसस की सादगी अपनाने की अपील की।

दुनिया के बाकी हिस्सों में भी क्रिसमस धूमधाम से मनाया जा रहा है। अमेरिका की राजधानी वॉशिंगटन के पास पोटोमैक नदी में सैंटा का अलग अंदाज देखने को मिला। यहां पर पिछले ३० सालों से क्रिसमस के मौके पर वॉटर स्कीइंग का आयोजन होता है। वहीं रूस के क्रेमलिन में एक बड़े क्रिसमस ट्री को सोवियत स्टाइल में सजाया गया है। ये ट्री कैथेड्रल स्क्वेयर में खड़ा किया गया है। रूस में इसे न्यू ईयर ट्री भी कहा जाता है।

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate India’s longest rail-cum-road bridge on the mighty Brahmaputra river on Tuesday, in a big boost to the rail and road infrastructure in the country. The 4.94 kilometre-long ‘Bogibeel Bridge‘ is the PM’s Christmas gift to the nation, which coincidentally is also former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birthday.
Sanctioned in 1997-98 during the prime ministership of H D Deve Gowda, who also laid the foundation stone, the project took close to 20 years to see the light of day. The work, however, began only in 2002 when Vajpayee was the prime minister. The bridge spans from Dibrugarh in Assam to Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh.
To build the bridge, approximately 3 million bags of cement, around 19250 tonnes of reinforcement steel and around 2800 tonnes of structural steel was used to construct the structure. State-owned Steel Authority of India Ltd has apparently supplied 35,400 tonnes of steel for the construction of the bridge. The lower deck of the railway track has double line broad gauge tracks, while the upper deck of the bridge is a three-lane road.
This is the fourth bridge to be built on the Brahmaputra, the others being the Naranarayan Setu, Kolia Bhomora Setu and Bhupen Hazarika Setu.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni was yesterday brought back to India’s T20 squad to ensure he gets “enough game-time” before the ODI World Cup but the young Rishabh Pant was axed from the 50-over side for the upcoming series against Australia and New Zealand.
While Dhoni’s inclusion in the shortest format came as a surprise after he was dropped for the Australia leg just last month, Pant’s omission is an indication that he is currently not in the team management’s 2019 World Cup radar as a first XI player.
Pant, on the other hand, will come back to play five ODIs against England Lions in India from January 23. The 16-member squad for the twin ODI series against Australia (starting January 12) and New Zealand (starting January 23) is pretty much the core team for the World Cup in England that starts May 30.
नागपूर : राज्य उत्पादन शुल्क विभागाने बुट्टीबोरी अंतर्गत येणाऱ्या धवलपेठ गावात हातभट्टी दारू निर्मिती ठिकाणी छापा टाकला. या छाप्यात १ लाख ४२ हजार किमतीची जवळपास ६ हजार लिटरहून अधिक दारू नष्ट करण्यात आली.
राज्य उत्पादन शुल्क विभागाने २०० लिटर क्षमतेचे १६ प्लास्टिक बॅरेल्स, २०० लिटर क्षमतेचे २० लोखंडी ड्रम, २० लिटर क्षमतेचे २ कॅन्स, ७ दांडी पिंप, ३५ लिटर क्षमतेचा १ कॅन, लोखंडी ड्रम्स तसेच ६४०० लिटर सडवा (रसायन) आणि ६० लिटर मोह दारू जप्त करून नष्ट केली.
राज्य उत्पादन शुल्क विभाग अधीक्षक स्वाती काकडे यांच्या मार्गदर्शनात विभागातील निरीक्षक संजय मिठारी यांनी ही कारवाई केली. यावेळी जिल्ह्यातील चिखली देवस्थान परिसरात अवैद्यरित्या दारू विक्री करणाऱ्या ब्रम्हानंद पुरणलाल बिजलेकर आणि संदीप जोडापे यांच्यावर सुद्धा दारूबंदी कायद्याअंतर्गत कारवाई करण्यात आली.
New Delhi : ‘Sadaiv Atal‘, a memorial of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, was dedicated to the nation Tuesday on his 94th birth anniversary.
President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were among the dignitaries who paid floral tributes to the former statesman at the memorial built near the Rashtriya Smriti Sthal, where his mortal remains were consigned to flames on August 17.
Vajpayee passed away on August 16 after a prolonged illness. He was cremated with full state honours.
Former prime minister Manmohan Singh and family members of Vajpayee also offered flowers at the lotus-shaped memorial.
Sadaiv (always) Atal memorial will be managed by a trust headed by Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.

नागपूर : बनावट ओळखपत्राद्वारे रेल्वेची ई-तिकिटे काढून ती चढ्या भावाने विकणाऱ्याला सोमवारी अटक करण्यात आली. हितेश गुप्ता (वय ३६, रा. त्रिमूर्तीनगर) असे आरोपीचे नाव आहे. ही कारवाई आरपीएफने केली. यावेळी तिकिटांसह ३ लाख ४३ हजार रुपयांचा ऐवज जप्त करण्यात आला.
प्रतापनगर भागातील गुप्ता ट्रॅव्हल्सच्या कार्यालयातून ई-तिकिटांचा काळा बाजार होत असल्याची गुप्त माहिती आरपीएफला मिळाली होती. त्यामुळे आरपीएफने प्रतापनगर पोलिसांना कळवून गुप्ता ट्रॅव्हल्सवर धाड घातली. त्यावेळी तेथे हितेश गुप्ता हजर होता. त्याला तिकिटांच्या काळ्या बाजाराविषयी विचारले असता त्याने काही माहिती नसल्याचे सांगितले. त्यामुळे तेथील कम्प्युटरची तपासणी केली असता वेगवेगळ्या १२ बनावट नावांद्वारे ई तिकिटे काढण्यात येत असल्याचे आढळून आले. अधिक चौकशीत आरोपीने बनावट नावांवर अशी तिकिटे काढत असल्याचे मान्य केले. गुप्ताकडे आयआरसीटीसीचा अधिकृत परवाना आहे. मात्र, त्या परवान्याशिवाय बनावट नाव तयार करून त्याद्वारेही तिकिटे काढायची व ती प्रवाशांना अधिक दराने विकायची, असा धंदा सुरू होता.
या कारवाईच्यावेळी आठ करंट तिकिटे तसेच ११० जुनी तिकिटे जप्त करण्यात आली. तसेच कम्प्युटर, प्रिंटर असा एकूण ३ लाख ४३ हजार रुपयांचा ऐवज जप्त करण्यात आला. आरोपीविरुद्ध रेल्वे कायदा कलम १४३ नुसार गुन्हा दाखल करण्यात आला. ही कारवाई वरिष्ठ मंडळ सुरक्षा आयुक्त ज्योतिकुमार सतिजा यांच्या मार्गदर्शनात निरीक्षक वीरेंद्र वानखेडे यांच्या नेतृत्वात, गुन्हेशाखा निरीक्षक एस. के. मिश्रा, उपनिरीक्षक शिवराम सिंह, उपनिरीक्षक होतीलाल मीना, प्रधान आरक्षक विजय पाटील, दीपक वानखेडे, आरक्षक अश्विन पवार, अमित बारपात्रे, आनंद गायकवाड यांनी केली.

1 Preheat oven to 180°C. Coat a 9-inch pan with butter and flour. Line the bottom with parchment paper.
2. Beat 4 egg yolks, 100 gms honey, vanilla, baking soda and salt in a large mixing bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed until well combined. Add the almond powder and beat on low until combined.
3. Beat 4 egg whites in another large bowl with the electric mixer on medium speed until very foamy, but not stiff enough to hold peaks. Using a rubber spatula, gently fold the egg whites into the nut mixture until just combined. Scrape the batter into the prepared pan.
4. Bake the cake until golden brown and a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean, about 20 minutes. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Run a knife around the edge of the pan and gently remove the side ring. Let cool completely.
5. Carefully transfer the cake to a serving platter. To serve, drizzle the top of the cake with honey and sprinkle with sliced almonds. Tip: Make sure that the almonds are toasted a little before you make a powder and there is absolutely no moisture in the grinder jar to avoid any lumps in the cake

सर्वप्रथम नामदार नितीन गडकरी यांनी केंद्रीय मार्ग निधीअंतर्गत सुरू असलेल्या कामांची सद्यस्थिती जाणून घेतली. जुना भंडारा रोड-मेयो हॉस्पीटल ते सुनील हॉटेलपर्यंतच्या रस्त्याचे रुंदीकरण, तेथील भूसंपादनाची सद्यस्थिती, केळीबाग रोड रुंदीकरण आणि भूसंपादनाबाबतची सद्यस्थिती, जयस्तंभ चौक ते मानस चौक रस्त्याच्या विकासाचा प्रस्ताव, वंजारी नगर पाण्याची टाकी ते अजनी रस्त्याला जोडणारा डी.पी. रोड आदींमधील अडचणी तातडीने दूर करून जानेवारी महिन्यापर्यंत भूसंपादन कार्यवाही पूर्ण होऊन प्रत्यक्ष कामाला सुरुवात करण्याचे निर्देश ना. गडकरी यांनी दिले.
नागपूर शहरात विविध ठिकाणी रेल्वे उड्डाण पुलाची जी कामे रेल्वे विभागाच्या आडकाठीमुळे अडलेली आहेत त्यातील अडथळा रेल्वेच्या अधिकाऱ्यांनी सार्वजनिक बांधकाम विभागाच्या अधिकाऱ्यांसोबत बैठक घेऊन तातडीने दूर करण्याचे निर्देश ना. गडकरी यांनी दिले. नागनदी पुनरुज्जीवन प्रकल्पाबाबत मनपा आयुक्त अभिजीत बांगर यांनी माहिती दिली. सप्टेंबर २०१९ पर्यंत जिकाकडून मिळणाऱ्या कर्ज करारावर स्वाक्षरी होऊन डिसेंबर २०१९ मध्ये प्रत्यक्ष कामाला सुरुवात होईल, अशी माहिती त्यांनी यावेळी दिली.
जानेवारीत रामझुल्याचे लोकार्पण
रामझुलाचे काम पूर्ण होऊनही तो वाहतुकीसाठी खुला का करण्यात आला नाही यासंदर्भात ना. नितीन गडकरी यांनी विचारणा केली असता काही किरकोळ कामे असल्याने एक महिना अजून विलंब होईल, असे उत्तर मिळाले. त्यावर जानेवारी महिन्यात हा पूल वाहतुकीसाठी खुला करण्याचे निर्देश ना. नितीन गडकरी यांनी दिले. जयप्रकाशनगर मेट्रो स्थानकाला लागून महामेट्रो ऑरेंज सिटी-मेट्रो मॉल तयार करीत आहे. यासंदर्भात सामंजस्य करारावर नुकत्याच स्वाक्षऱ्या झाल्याची माहिती मनपा आयुक्त अभिजीत बांगर यांनी दिली. रामझुलाचे लोकार्पण आणि ऑरेंज सिटी-मेट्रो मॉलचे भूमिपूजन १९ जानेवारीला घेण्याचे निर्देशही ना. गडकरी यांनी यावेळी दिले.
महाल बुधवार बाजाराचे डिझाईन मंजूर
नागपूर शहरातील भाजी मार्केट, बुधवार बाजार महाल, सोमवारी पेठ सक्करदरा, नेताजी मार्केट, मच्छी मार्केट आदींचाही आढावा ना. नितीन गडकरी यांनी घेतला. यावेळी महाल बुधवार बाजारचे डिझाईन ना. गडकरी यांच्यासमोर सादर करण्यात आले. या डिझाईनला त्यांनी मंजुरी देत पुढील प्रक्रिया तातडीने करण्याचे निर्देश त्यांनी दिले. सक्करदरा बुधवार बाजाराचे डिझाईन नामवंत आर्किटेक्टकडून तयार करण्याचेही निर्देश त्यांनी यावेळी दिले.
एनएचएआयच्या कामांना गती देण्याचे निर्देश
राष्ट्रीय महामार्ग प्राधिकरणतर्फे सुरू असलेल्या विविध कामांप्रती नाराजी व्यक्त करीत या कामांना गती देण्याचे निर्देश त्यांनी दिले. पारडी येथील उड्डाणपुलाचे काम बरेच रेंगाळले आहे. चार वर्षात केवळ ३० टक्के काम झाल्याचा आरोप आमदार कृष्णा खोपडे यांनी केला. भूसंपादनाच्या कार्यातील अडथळे दूर करुन या कामाला गती देण्याचे निर्देश यावेळी ना. गडकरी यांनी दिले. वाडी येथील उड्डाणपुलाच्या प्रक्रियेलाही सुरुवात करण्याचे निर्देश त्यांनी दिले.
Nagpur: The Government of Maharashtra and the Tata Trusts collaborate with Orange City Hospital & Research Institute (OCHRI) to empower the underprivileged children with the gift of hearing. The partnership aims to provide hearing disabled children with subsidized cochlear implants through the facilitation of life-changing surgeries.
The partnership has facilitated 108 surgeries through the OCHRI Cochlear Implant Surgery Project (CIP).
The OCHRI Cochlear Implant Surgery Project (CIP) is supported by the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) and the Tata Trusts. The program was initiated by the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri. Devendra Fadnavis, and is led by Padmashree Dr. M. V. Kirtane with a team of experienced surgeons including Dr. Nandu Kolwadkar and Dr. Sameer Choudhary to perform the surgeries; with support from Dr. Smita Harkare, Dr. Neeta Deshpande, Dr. Anita Pande and Dr. Kuldeep Sukhadeve.
OCHRI, recently, celebrated its century of CI Surgeries in a unique manner wherein the beneficiaries presented their talents. Deaf and dumb children now speak, hear, and even sing with ease. The program held at Jaivik Sabhagruha of OCHRI witnessed the presence of Shri. Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Guardian Minister – Nagpur District, as the Chief Guest; Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, Divisional Commissioner – Nagpur Division, Shri. Kumar Chaitanya, Head, Individual Grants Program- Medical, the Tata Trusts and Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal, Deputy Director- Health, Nagpur Division as Guests of Honor.
Dr. Deepak Dongre conducted the ceremony while Dr. Sameer Choudhary- OCHRI Cochlear Implant Surgeon proposed vote of thanks.
Shri. Chandrashekhar Bawankule, whose office pursues each application to its logical end at CMRF office, stated that OCHRI set a praiseworthy trend by initiating Cochlear implant surgeries for needy Vidarbhites when they had no option but to reach Mumbai for this advanced surgery. He appreciated OCHRI for commencing such unique social undertakings and thus setting an ideal for other health care service providers to follow.
Complimenting OCHRI for successfully undertaking 108 surgeries, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, Divisional Commissioner- Nagpur Division, assured regular support of government to this project and stated that the trend set by OCHRI is now also followed by GMC and IGGMC under ADIP scheme.
Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal, Deputy Director – Health, Nagpur Division, desired Universal Neonatal Hearing Screening (UNHS) should be strictly complied by all hospitals, nursing homes, Gynecologists and Pediatricians for early detection of hearing loss. Bedside Otoacoustic emission (OAE) testing should be done on all Newborns to screen hearing. If hearing loss is found early, a child will have the best chance to learn. Children with hearing loss can progress normally in their language and social skills when intervention begins by six months of age.
Speaking at the event Mr. Kumar Chaitanya, Head, Individual Grant Program – Medical, the Tata Trusts said, "The Tata Trusts continue its efforts in large scale projects of social transformation not bound by geographies, the organization’s healthcare programs assist patients on compassionate grounds. Through this partnership, we aim to reach out to those most in need, to enable them with the gift of hearing and bring about a sustainable, positive change in their lives.”
The Tata Trusts’ Individual Grants Program follows a comprehensive, systematic, and humane approach to identify individuals and organizations who require assistance in the areas of medical treatment and education. Recently, the Tata Trusts were a part of the world’s largest gifting of hearing aids, in Pune, at which 12000 hearing aids were donated to 6000 individuals in a mission by the Starkey Hearing Foundation, setting a Guinness World Record. This was supported by a consortium of charitable trusts and foundations including Yashwantrao Chauhan Pratishthan, Pawar Public Charitable Trust, Thackersey Group, RVS Educational and Charitable Foundation and the Tata Trusts.
In his welcome speech; Dr. Nandu Kolwadkar, Founder Convener-OCHRI CIP, stated that OCHRI’s Freedom from deafness movement functions under insignia of Project Geeta as named after congenitally hearing impaired sister of Shri. Udaybhaskar Nair, Chairman- OCHRI. He mentioned that it is sheer bliss to observe needy poor hearing impaired children brought back to mainstream with this revolutionary breakthrough highly advanced surgical undertaking.
Dr. Ashish Disawal and Ms. Neelu Somani– Audiologists, thanked the Government of Maharashtra, the Tata Trusts, and OCHRI for providing this novel surgical facility at doorsteps of needy hearing impaired Vidarbha based children who were finding it difficult to reach Mumbai. They highlighted the improvements noticed in all operated children and emphasized the need of proper speech rehabilitation by qualified trained speech therapists for each operated child to attain complete benefit of the implant.
Shri. Udaybhaskar Nair, Chairman- OCHRI, said, “The generous patronage of the Tata Trusts and Maharashtra Chief Minister’s relief fund has only ensured that Cochlear Implant Surgeries are being regularly undertaken at OCHRI. We are grateful to the Tata Trusts & Maharashtra Government for considering OCHRI as a partner to attain our common goal in this sector.”
