Nearly four months after he began his fast-unto-death for an ‘eternal’ Ganga on 22 June, IIT-Kanpur professor-turned environmental activist GD Agrawal passed away Thursday in Haridwar.

मार्च २०१३ में विधानसभा चुनाव की तैयारी के तहत वे पूर्व विदर्भ के दौरे पर आए थे। ४ दिन के दौरेे में उन्होंने चंद्रपुर, गडचिरोली व वर्धा जिले में कार्यकर्ताआें से संपर्क किया था। उस दौरे में राज ठाकरे के साथ उनकी पत्नी शर्मिला व पुत्र अमित भी था। अचानक तबियत खराब होने से उन्हें लौटना पड़ा। ठाकरे ने विदर्भ में बाघ संरक्षण की सराहना की है। उन्होंने कहा था कि बाघ को बचाना सबकी जिम्मेदारी है। बाघ का शिकार करनेवाले शिकारियों को जो अधिकारी गोली मारेगा उसे मनसे की ओर से ५ लाख रुपए का इनाम देने की बात भी कही गई थी।

Self-styled Godman Rampal was on Thursday convicted in two cases of murder by a local court here on Thursday. A total of 29 persons, including 4 women, have been convicted in the two cases.
The cases pertain to death of five women and an infant during several days long stand-off between the Haryana Police and self-styled godman Rampal’s supporters in November 2014.
Two FIRs — 429 and 430 — were registered in connection with the six deaths.
Hisar District Attorney Mahender Pal told the media persons that the accused were convicted on charges of murder, wrongful confinement and criminal conspiracy. The court has fixed October 16 and 17 for the quantum of sentence in the two cases respectively. Three persons were declared as proclaimed offenders in the case.
All the accused, including Rampal, were present in the court. The verdict was pronounced by Additional District and Sessions judge D.R. Chalia in a makeshift court inside the court premises.

मुंबई : राज्यातील पाणीटंचाई परिस्थितीची प्रत्येक तालुक्यात जाऊन पाहणी करण्याचे निर्देश मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांनी मंत्रिमंडळातील सदस्यांना दिले आहेत. या पाहणी दौऱ्याचे नियोजन करण्याची जबाबदारी महसूलमंत्री चंद्रकांत पाटील व परिवहनमंत्री दिवाकर रावते यांच्याकडे सोपविली आहे. या दोन्ही मंत्री महोदयांच्या समितीची आज बैठक झाली.
या बैठकीत प्रत्येक मंत्र्यांच्या दौऱ्याचे नियोजन तयार करण्याचे काम सुरु केले असून येत्या आठ दिवसात हे दौरे सुरू होणार आहेत. मंत्रिमंडळाच्या बैठकीत दुष्काळ निवारणासाठीच्या नियोजनाची जबाबदारी श्री. पाटील व श्री. रावते यांच्याकडे सोपविण्यात आली होती. या दोन्ही मंत्रिमहोदयांची आज सकाळी बैठक झाली. त्यावेळी सर्व मंत्र्यांच्या दौऱ्याचे वेळापत्रक तयार केले आहे. या दौऱ्यानुसार प्रत्येक मंत्री महोदयांना किमान पाच तालुक्यात प्रत्यक्ष जाऊन तेथील जनतेशी संवाद साधण्याच्या व तालुक्यात आढावा बैठक घेण्याच्या सूचना देण्यात येणार आहेत. त्यानंतर अहवाल मुख्यमंत्री महोदयांना सादर करणार आहेत.
First-time director Sudhakar Reddy Yakkanti’s Naal looks like yet another well-made film on rural lives. The film’s teaser was released today (11 October).
Naal is jointly produced by Zee Studios and filmmaker Nagraj Popatrao Manjule, who has previously helmed Fandry and Sairat.
The teaser of Naal is more like an introduction to the village where the story takes place. It beautifully captures the picturesque village, especially the water bodies. The pleasant background music complement the visuals. The village is shown through the journey of a flower which is almost grabbed by a child.
Before directing this film, Yakkanti worked as a cinematographer on well-known Marathi and Hindi films like, Mirch (2010), Deool (2011), Nautanki Saala! (2013), Highway: Ek Selfie Aarpar (2015), Manjule’s short film An Essay Of The Rain (2017) and a few others.
नागपूर : यवतमाळ जिल्ह्यात दोन वर्षात 14 जणांचा बळी घेणाऱ्या नरभक्षक वाघिणी ला शोधण्यासाठी ‘टी 1 कॅप्चर मिशन’मध्ये पॅरा ग्लायडरची मदत घेतली जात आहे. सुरुवातीला हत्ती, त्यानंतर इटालियीन कुत्रे आणि आता पॅरा ग्लायडरने आकाशातून वाघिणीला शोधण्याचे प्रयत्न सुरू केले आहेत.
बुधवारी या मिशनमध्ये दिल्लीतील एका विशेष पथकासह पॅरा पॉवर मोटारिंग अर्थात पॅरा ग्लायडर आणण्यात आले आहे. सुरुवातीला खडकाळ जागेमुळे पॅरा ग्लायडर उडविताना दोन वेळा अपयश आले. मात्र तिसऱ्या प्रयत्नात यशस्वी उडाण घेऊन संपूर्ण जंगलात जवळपास 15 मिनिटे घिरट्या घालत जंगलाची टेहळणी केली.
वाघिणीला ठार मारण्याची परवानगी मिळाल्याने सुरुवातीला प्रसिद्ध शार्प शुटर नवाब शफत अली खान याला बोलावण्यात आले. मात्र त्याच्या विरुद्ध आरोप आणि वन्यप्रेमींनी केलेल्या आंदोलनामुळे त्याला परत पाठविण्यात आले होते. मग हत्तींच्या सहाय्याने जंगलात शोध मोहीम राबविण्यात आली मात्र एक हत्ती पिसाळल्याने त्याच्या हल्ल्यात एका महिलेचा मृत्यू आणि एकजण गंभीर झाल्याने हत्तींना परत पाठविण्यात आले. मात्र त्यानंतर पुन्हा नवाब शफत अलीला पाचारण करण्यात आले व त्याच्या सल्ल्याने 9 ऑक्टोबर रोजी इटालियन केन कोर्सो जातीचे कुत्रे सुद्धा आणण्यात आले आहेत. सध्या हे कुत्रे या मिशनमध्ये सहभागी आहेत, परंतू घनदाट जंगल आणि दरी खोऱ्याचा भाग यामुळे अनेक अडचणी येत असल्यामुळे पॅरा ग्लायडर पथक बोलावण्यात आले आहे. टी 1 कॅप्चर मिशनमध्ये आम्ही यशस्वी होणार असा विश्वास पॅरा ग्लायडर पथकाने व्यक्त केला आहे.
नागपुर : भूत म्हटले की माणसाच्या अंगाला शाहरे येतात आणि हेच भूत जर आपणास भर मार्गावर वावरतांना दिसले तर काय होणार ? हो विदर्भातील चंद्रपूर मध्ये एक अशी घटना पाहायला मिळाली.
चंद्रपूर शहराच्या बाह्य भागात बल्लारपूरकडे कोळसा खाणीच्या किर्र जंगलातून जाणारा एक मार्ग आहे. या जमन-जट्टी मार्गावर मध्यरात्रीच्या सुमारास चक्क भूतं येऊन रात्रपाळीच्या ड्युटीवर जाणाऱ्या लोकांना अचानक पुढे येत घाबरवू लागली. ही भूतं म्हणजे खरी भूत नसून ११ -१२ वीत शिकणारी सहा मुलं. घटनेची माहिती मिळताच पोलिसांनी लोकांना घाबरवून त्यांचे व्हिडीओ बनवणाऱ्या मुलांना ताब्यात घेतलं. तीन तास बसवून त्यांना चांगलीच समज दिली. पोलिसांकडून आता असा ‘मंत्र’ मिळाल्यानंतर असं पुन्हा करणार नाही, म्हणत मुलांनी कानाला खडा लावला.

विशेष म्हणजे या थरकापाचे चित्रीकरण मोबाईल मध्ये केले जात होते. अतिउत्साहाच्या भरात आणि चुटकीसरशी प्रसिद्ध होण्याच्या हव्यासात या मुलानी हा धोकादायक मार्ग देखील निवडला. या मुलांनी झाडांच्या आडून थेट समोर येत अनेक दुचाकीस्वारांना घाबरविले आणि या थरकापाचा आसुरी आनंद घेतला. हा दुचाकीस्वार भीतीने अपघातग्रस्त होईल, एखाद्याचा जीव जाईल याची देखील तमा या अल्पवयीन मुलांनी बाळगली नाही. हा प्रकार सुरू राहिल्यावर कुणीतरी शहर पोलिसांना याची माहिती दिली. यातील गांभीर्य पाहून अधिक कुमक पाठविण्यात आली. पोलिसांनी सावध पवित्रा घेत घटनास्थळ गाठले आणि अल्पवयीन भूतांना थेट ठाण्यात नेले आणि ठाण्यात या भूतांना तब्बल ३ तास योग्य समज देण्यात आली.
राफेल विमान सौदे को लेकर सियासी घमासान अब अपने चरम पर पहुंच गया है। कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष राहुल गांधी राफेल सौदे को लेकर सीधे-सीधे प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी को निशाने पर ले रहे हैं। राहुल गांधी ने प्रधानमंत्री मोदी पर भ्रष्टाचार के आरोप लगाए हैं और कहा है कि उनकी भी जांच होनी चाहिए।
गुरुवार को पार्टी मुख्यालय में प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस के दौरान राहुल ने राफेल डील को पीएम मोदी से लेकर केंद्र को निशाने पर लिया। राहुल ने प्रधानमंत्री मोदी के इस्तीफे की भी मांग की। राहुल ने कहा कि उन्हें (मोदी) इस मामले में अपना नाम आने पर इस्तीफा देना चाहिए। राहुल ने कहा कि राफेल डील के जरिए पीएम मोदी ने अनिल अंबानी की जेब में 30 हजार करोड़ रुपये डाले हैं। वे यहीं शांत नहीं हुए, आगे उन्होंने फ्रांस के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति का जिक्र करते हुए कहा कि इससे पहले पूर्व फ्रांसीसी राष्ट्रपति ने खुलासा किया था कि भारतीय प्रधानमंत्री ने उन्हें बताया था कि रिलायंस को सौदा मिलना चाहिए। अब राफेल के एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने वही कहा है। यह भ्रष्टाचार का स्पष्ट मामला है।
राहुल ने कहा कि साफतौर पर राफेल डील रक्षा क्षेत्र में भ्रष्टाचार का मामला है। इस भ्रष्टाचार को समझने के लिए सारी चीजें सामने हैं। इस सौदे की गड़बड़ियां धीरे-धीरे सामने आ रही हैं। उधर बार-बार इस मामले में पीएम मोदी का नाम लेकर राहुल ने कहा कि वे (मोदी) भ्रष्टाचार के मामले को लेकर सत्ता में आए थे और वही अब इन आरोपों से जूझ रहे हैं। राहुल ने कहा कि उनपर आरोप लगा है और उन्हें इस मामले पर बोलना चाहिए। राहुल ने आगे कहा कि अगर वे बोल नहीं पा रहे हैं तो इस्तीफा दे दें।
Amitabh Bachchan fans couldn’t ask for a better birthday gift from the superstar. The makers of Amitabh’s next film, Sye Ra Narasimha Reddy, have released his character’s first look from the film. He is playing Gosayi Venkanna in the film.
The film, however, stars Chiranjeevi in the lead role. He is playing the titular role of a freedom fighter named Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy in the film that’s directed by Surender Reddy.
The story of Narasimha Reddy finds mention in the folklores of the Rayalaseema region, and thus the makers have shot the film on actual locations in Andhra Pradesh.
The film’s teaser was released a few days back and it generated a good noise among the audiences.
The team of Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy started shooting in December, last year. The release date of the film hasn’t been announced yet.
The Enforcement Directorate said on Thursday it has attached assets worth Rs 54 crore of Karti Chidambaram in India, the UK and Spain in connection with the INX Media money laundering case, the action the son of former Union finance minister P Chidambaram said was “bizarre and outlandish”. The central probe agency issued a provisional order under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA) for the attachment of Karti’s Indian assets in Kodaikanal and Ooty in Tamil Nadu and a flat in New Delhi’s Jorbagh.
A cottage and house in Somerset in the United Kingdom and a tennis club located in Barcelona, Spain have also been attached as part of the same order, the agency said.
Fixed deposits worth Rs 90 lakh in a bank in Chennai, in the name of Advantage Strategic Consulting Private Limited (ASCPL), have also been attached, it said. The assets are in the name of Karti and ASCPL, the firm allegedly linked to him, it added.
Karti has been accused of receiving kickbacks a decade back to clear foreign investment into INX Media group, using the influence of his father who was then a cabinet minister.
The agency had registered a case under PMLA in this deal case on the basis of a first information report filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
It alleged that irregularities took place in the Foreign Investment Promotion Board clearance to INX Media for receiving overseas funds to the tune of Rs 305 crore in 2007 when his father was the Union finance minister. ED had questioned Karti in connection with this case in the past.
Apart from the CBI, which is probing the bribery case, the former minister’s son also faces allegations that he laundered the bribe money.

The Nokia 3.1 Plus will be exclusive to Nokia’s online store and brick-and-mortar retail outlets, and it will go on sale stating October 19.
FRENCH newsportal Mediapart has reported that a top official of Dassault Aviation explained to his staff in May 2017 that the firm’s joint venture with Anil Ambani’s Reliance group for discharging offsets in the 36-Rafale deal was a condition, “imperative and obligatory” to win the deal for 36 Rafale aircraft from India.
Mediapart said it had obtained an internal document which shows that Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Dassault Aviation Loïk Segalen said on May 11, 2017 during a presentation of the joint venture Dassault Reliance Aerospace Ltd (DRAL) from Nagpur: “It was imperative and obligatory for Dassault Aviation, to accept this condition, in order to obtain the export contract for Rafale from India”.
Dassault has maintained that “in accordance with the policy of Make in India, Dassault Aviation has decided to make a partnership with India’s Reliance Group” and that “it is Dassault Aviation’s choice, as CEO Eric Trappier had explained in an interview”.
Segalen’s remarks echo what Francois Hollande, the French President when the deal for 36 Rafale aircraft was signed between India and France, had told Mediapart. “It was the Indian government that proposed this service group (Reliance), and Dassault who negotiated with Ambani. We didn’t have a choice, we took the interlocutor who was given to us,” Hollande was quoted as having said.
Hollande was responding to The Indian Express report referred to by Mediapart that Ambani’s Reliance entertainment had co-produced a French film with his partner, Julie Gayet, when India and France were negotiating the Rafale deal. “That’s why, on the other hand, this group (Reliance) did not have to give me any thanks for anything. I couldn’t even imagine that there was any connection to a film by Julie Gayet,” Hollande had said.
Responding to this, the government had said it played “no role” and that “unnecessary controversies” were being created. Late last month, the Defence Ministry invoked “issues of conflict of interest involving persons close to the former President (Hollande)”.
The government, the statement said, “had no role in the selection of Reliance Defence as the Offset partner” and that “as per Defence Offset Guidelines, the foreign Original Equipment Manufacturer is free to select any Indian company as its offset partner”.
Ambani’s Reliance Defence became part of the offset programme of the Rs 59,000-crore Rafale deal through DRAL in which it holds a 51% stake. Dassault Aviation holds 49% stake in DRAL. In October 2017, Dassault CEO Eric Trappier had announced an investment of 100 million euros in the DRAL factory planned at Nagpur, which was scheduled to start production in 2018.

The deal for 36 Rafale aircraft in a government-to-government agreement was announced by the PM on April 10, 2015 during his visit to Paris which led to the cancellation of the 126 aircraft deal being negotiated by the previous government. The deal was signed on September 23, 2016 in Delhi between then Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and his French counterpart. Under the offsets clause, France is to invest 50 per cent of the total order cost in local contracts in India, worth Rs 30,000 crore. The offset obligations of the deal are to be discharged from September 2019 to September 2023, as per the contract.

Nagpur: In absence of a planning authority in Nagpur metro region, people had constructed houses in violation of building by-laws. Now, they are paying the price. Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA) has issued notices to 1,801 owners of illegal buildings.
Many of them have approached the agency for compounding but others do not seem to take the notices seriously. NMRDA has already razed nine houses partially or fully till now and the operation will go on. The demolition operation has started from October 1. Action is being taken under Section 53 of Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning (MRTP) Act, 1966. The list of illegal buildings include industrial structures, educational institutions, multi-storied commercial complexes, restaurants and residential buildings.
Sudhakar Kulmethe, additional collector of NMRDA, said that all the applications submitted for compounding compounding would not be entertained. “If the violations can be compounded as per building by-laws then we will do so by levying a fine. However, if the building is totally illegal, it will be razed. If a portion of the house can be compounded while the remaining part can’t then we will raze the latter part,” he added.
While notices were issued to 1,800 house owners, some 6,000 house owners approached the NMRDA on their own for regularization after going through the public appeals pasted in gram panchayat offices and tehsil offices. “They include many plot and layout owners. All the applications are being processed,” said Kulmethe.
The additional collector appealed to the house owners to approach NMRDA for regularization and demolish the illegal part on their own. “This will save a lot of unpleasantness,” he said.
नागपूर : इंडोनेशिया, नायजेरियातून होणाऱ्या सुपारीच्या अवैध तस्करीमुळे देशाचे मोठे आर्थिक नुकसान होते. सडकी सुपारी देशात येऊ नये, यासाठी सरकारने प्रयत्न करायला हवेत. या प्रकरणाची व्याप्ती राष्ट्रीय स्तरावरील असल्याने त्याचा तपास केंद्रीय गुप्तचर खात्याकडे (सीबीआय) सोपवावा असा आदेश उच्च न्यायालयाच्या नागपूर खंडपीठाने बुधवारी दिला. या आदेशामुळे देशभरातील सुपारी तस्करांमध्ये खळबळ उडाली आहे.
विदेशातून सुपारी आयात करण्यासाठी १०३ टक्के सीमा शुल्क भरावे लागते. मात्र, नागपुरातील व्यापारी काही कस्टम अधिकाऱ्यांना हाताशी धरून इंडोनेशिया आणि नायजेरियातून सुपारीची अवैध तस्करी करतात. यामुळे सरकारला दरवर्षी १५ हजार कोटींचा फटका बसतो. सामाजिक कार्यकर्ते मेहबूब चिमथानवाला यांनी उच्च न्यायालयात एक जनहित याचिका दाखल करून सुपारीची तस्करी रोखावी, अशी विनंती केली. या प्रकरणात डीआरआयने प्रतिज्ञापत्र दाखल करून इंडोनेशियातून श्रीलंकामार्गे भारतात सुपारीची तस्करी करण्यात येत असल्याची माहिती दिली. तसेच महसूल गुप्तचर संचालनालयातर्फे (डीआरआय) तपास सुरू असून आतापर्यंत ४ प्रकरणात गुन्हे दाखल होऊन आरोपींना अटक झाल्याची माहिती दिली होती. त्यानंतर न्यायालयाने सुपारीचे नमुने तपासण्याचा आदेश एफएसएसएआयला दिला. त्यानंतर एफएसएसएआयने मुंबई, नागपूर, भंडारा व गोंदिया येथील वेगवेगळया सुपारीचे ३० नमुने घेतले व सर्वच नमुने खाण्याकरिता अयोग्य असल्याची माहिती दिली.
नागपुर : शहर में बुधवार को वकील चंद्रशेखर शर्मा पर उनके पड़ोसी पिता-पुत्र ने मिलकर जानलेवा हमला कर दिया। मामला हुडकेश्वर पुलिस थाना अंतर्गत आता है | वकील नरसाला रोड के संत तुकडोजी नगर, दिघोरी निवासी इस हमले में गंभीर रूप से घायल हो गए है। प्राप्त जानकारी के अनुसार शर्मा अपने परिवार के साथ कई वर्षो से इसी क्षेत्र में रहते है। उनके पड़ोस में ६० वर्षीय आनंद दीक्षित बीते १४ वर्षो से रह रहा है। बताया जाता है दीक्षित उनके सगे मामा है।
शर्मा के अनुसार कुछ वजह से उनके मामा का उनसे बर्ताव उनसे अलग होने लगा था, जिसका कारण अपने सगे भांजे की बीते कुछ समय में की गई तरक़्क़ी है। दीक्षित आये दिन किसी न किसी कारण शर्मा परिवार ने झगड़ा करते है। शर्मा ने बताया की अपने मामा के व्यवहार से वो अकेले नहीं बल्कि सारी बस्ती परेशान थी। बीते सोमवार सुबह ९.३० बजे के दरमियान आनंद दीक्षित शर्मा से झगडा करने लगा। उस दरम्यान उसने शर्मा को गाली गलौच भी की शर्मा द्वारा झगड़े का कारण पूछे जाने पर दीक्षित के बेटे और रिश्ते में उनका भाई विजय ने उन पर घर के भीतर घुसकर से लाठी से हमला कर दिया। जिसमे शर्मा बुरी तरह घायल हो गए और उनके पीठ और शरीर के पिछले हिस्से की दो हड्डियाँ टूट गई। घर वालो ने शर्मा को तुरंत निजी अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया है। घटना के बाद शर्मा ने इस हमले की शिकायत पुलिस में की है। शिकायत के आधार पर पुलिस ने दोनों पिता-पुत्र पर हत्या के प्रयास का मामला दर्ज किया है।

Nagpur : To boost tiger tourism in the state, the Centre has cleared water airports at Pench Dam, Irai Dam and Khindsi Dam in Vidarbha. A team of Airports Authority of India, Director General of Civil Aviation, state aviation department, irrigation department officials and two officers from budget carrier Spice-Jet on Monday inspected the Irai Dam next to Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve. There are plans to connect Nagpur with these hinterland dams through amphibian planes to reduce travel time for tourists
The three shortlisted spots are part of the seven identified by the Centre in Maharashtra. While Pench Dam is located in Pench Tiger Reserve, Irai is next to Tadoba. Union shipping minister Nitin Gadkari had earlier conducted seaplane flight trials in Khindsi lake, Nagpur district. “On Monday, we inspected Irai Dam and it seems to be good place for a water airport. On Tuesday, Pench Dam and Khindsi lake were inspected,” said state aviation director Sanjay Karve, who is also part of the inspecting team.
Accompanying the team were two officers from SpiceJet, including the airline’s deputy general manager (operations). According to sources, the airline has plans to get Kodiak Quest 1000 – an eight-seater plane – for tourist operations in the region. SpiceJet, according to sources, plans to buy more than 100 amphibian aircraft at an estimated cost of $400 million. SpiceJet MD Ajay Singh did not respond to calls from this newspaper.
The Bombay High Court on Wednesday cancelled a molestation case filed against businessman Ness Wadia in 2014 by actor Preity Zinta. Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia had appeared in the Bombay High Court on Wednesday.
In the last hearing of the case, the court had suggested that both the parties resolve the issue in their personal capacity.
The actress had filed the police complaint alleging that she was molested by Wadia inside the Wankhede Stadium on May 30, 2014, when an IPL match between KingsXI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings was played.
Zinta gave a written complaint following which an FIR was registered against Wadia under IPC sections 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) and 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), police sources added.
Earlier, Zinta’s advocate told the Bombay High Court that the actor was willing to settle the matter if Wadia was ready to apologise. The lawyer said they were not insisting on a written apology.
Wadia’s counsel Abad Ponda, however, said the industrialist was not ready to apologise.
नवी दिल्ली: रेल्वे कर्मचाऱ्यांना यंदाच्या वर्षी ७८ दिवसांच्या पगारा इतके वेतन बोनस म्हणून दिले जाणार आहे. रेल्वे मंत्रालयाने दिलेल्या या प्रस्तावाला केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडळाने बुधवारी मंजूरी दिली. सूत्रांनी दिलेल्या माहितीनुसार दुर्गापूजेच्या आधी बोनस कर्मचाऱ्यांच्या बँकेत जमा होईल. यामुळे रेल्वेच्या अर्थसंकल्पावर २ हजार कोटींचा अतिरिक्त बोजा पडणार आहे.
रेल्वेतील राजपत्रित कर्मचाऱ्यांना हा बोनस दिला जातो. अशा कर्मचाऱ्यांची संख्या ११.९१ लाख इतकी आहे. प्रत्येक वर्षी रेल्वेतील कर्माचाऱ्यांना बोनस दिला जातो. परंपरेनुसार ही रक्कम दसऱ्याच्या आधी त्याच्या खात्यावर जमा केली जाते. कर्मचाऱ्यांना ७८ दिवसांचा बोनस देण्याचे यंदाचे हे सलग सातवे वर्ष आहे. पण यात रेल्वे सुरक्षा दल आणि रेल्वे सुरक्षा स्पेशल फोर्स यांचा समावेश केला जात नाही.

Facebook-owned messaging app WhatsApp is reportedly planning to allow advertisements to be displayed in the “Status” section of the app, the media reported on Tuesday. WhatsApp’s “Status” feature allows users to share text, photos, videos and animated GIFs that disappear after 24 hours.
Rumours about Facebook fuelling ads on Whats app started popping up at the end of last month, stating that ads are coming to WhatsApp for iOS, and now same happens for Android.
“WhatsApp beta for Android 2.18.305: Whats App is implementing in this version ads for Status. They are not visible yet and the feature will be enabled in future,” fan-site WABetaInfo that tests Whatsapp features early tweeted. According to previous media reports, the advertisements would be powered by Facebook’s native advertising system and would be aimed at helping users understand and participate in businesses using the messaging app.
The move has been making the rounds ever since Facebook acquired WhatsApp, the report added. Whats App was yet to comment on the rumours. Facebook CEO Mark Zukerberg‘s goal to monetise Whats App has forced the social media messaging service’s co-founders to leave the company. One of them, Brian Acton, told Forbes recently that Zuckerberg was in a rush to make money from the messaging service and undermine elements of its encryption technology. “Targeted advertising is what makes me unhappy,” Acton said.
Four years after its acquisition by Facebook for $19 billion, WhatsApp, which now has over 1.5 billion users (against Facebook’s 2.3 billion), will reportedly carry targeted ads from 2019 — on a platform that has been ad-free till date.
Sandhya Mridul on Wednesday opened up about being harassed by veteran actor Alok Nath. The film and television actor, in a tweet, narrated the horrific incident and said she supports TV writer-producer Vinta Nanda who was sexually assaulted by the renowned actor. Sandhya also mentioned how after the incident she was tagged as a ‘difficult and arrogant’ person by Alok Nath.
In her tweet, Sandhya revealed that during the shoot of a Zee telefilm, an inebriated Alok Nath came to her room after dinner and lunged at her. Traumatised with what had happened, she ran away from the room and met her DOP in the hotel lobby who accompanied her back to the room. But the senior actor refused to listen to the DOP as well and insisted on staying. He continued threatening Sandhya and abused her while trying to grab her. After much effort, he was made to leave the room and the hairdresser was made to sleep in her room.
But this is not where it all ended. Alok Nath continued making incessant calls to Sandhya and after returning to Bombay told people that she was a difficult and an arrogant person to work with. Sandhya, last seen in TV show P.O.W. Bandi Yuddh Ke, further wrote, “Mr Alok Nath I will never forgive you for what you did with Vinta. I stand by you Vinta. What I went through is nothing compared to you. I’m so sorry. More power to you. Your time’s up sir.”

New Delhi: Additional Solicitor General Tushar Mehta has been appointed Solicitor General of India by Central Government. The post was vacant since October 20, 2017 after the resignation of Ranjit Kumar.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Senior Advocate Tushar Mehta as Solicitor General of India with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the office for a period till June 30, 2020, or until further orders.
The appointment comes after more than 11 months of the post lying vacant. Senior Advocate Ranjit Kumar had resigned from the post of Solicitor General on October 20 last year.
Tushar Mehta who hails from Gujarat has been serving as Additional Solicitor General since mid-2014 when the BJP came to power at the Centre. He has appeared for Centre in many significant cases including the challenge to Section 66A of Information Technology Act.
नागपूर : नागपूर ग्रामीण भागात उमरेड वडसा मार्गावर उदासा शिवारात ट्रॅव्हल्सने रस्त्यावर उभ्या टिप्परला धडक दिल्याने झालेल्या भीषण अपघातात बसमधील ५ प्रवासी ठार, तर १० प्रवासी जखमी झाले. यातील काही जणांची प्रकृती गंभीर आहे.
मंगळवारी रात्री साडेआठच्या सुमारास हा अपघात झाला. गिट्टीने भरलेला टिप्पर उमरेडच्या दिशेने निघणार होता. टिप्पर रस्त्यावर एका बाजूला उभा करण्यात आला होता. त्याचवेळी विरुद्ध दिशेने येणाऱ्या ट्रॅव्हल्सने वडसा गावाजवळ टिप्परला जोरदार धडक दिली. यात बसमधील ५ प्रवासी जागीच ठार झाले, तर १० जण जखमी झाले. अपघात झाल्याचे पाहताच परिसरातील नागरिकांनी मृतदेह बसबाहेर काढून जखमींना जवळच्या रुग्णालयात दाखल केले. दरम्यान, रात्री उशिरापर्यंत अपघातातील मृत आणि जखमींची नावे समजू शकली नाहीत.
