94% consumers in state faced no load shedding : Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule

Nagpur : The fear of widespread load shedding in the State, the Energy Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Friday said that no load shedding is being effected at all. “94 percent consumers faced no power shutdown. Only 6 percent consumers experience the power cut due to coal shortage caused by natural calamities. In fact, except for one week, there was no load shedding since the past four years,” the minister said.

During the Congress-NCP rule, the state suffered load shedding for 8-10 hours. But soon after coming to power, the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, as a first act, had ordered to make the state load shedding free. Accordingly, Maharashtra is now a load shedding free state. The 6 percent load shedding now being carried out is only for ‘G’ group consumers. There is no recovery of bills in load shedding areas. The consumers are also not ready to pay part of the bills. The demand for electricity in the state has reached 24,500 megawatt. Electricity has to be purchased. Coal has to be purchased. Water has to be purchased. In this situation, if bills are not paid then how the expenditure to be met? Currently, dues to the tune of Rs 40,000 are pending. At least 50 percent dues should have been cleared.

Replying to a question, Bawankule said that no other state is being supplied power from Maharashtra. “In the coming days, solar power will have to be explored in a big way. All the farmers will be supplied electricity in day time through solar power under Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana. 45 lakh farmers will be provided solar power. Today, farmers are being supplied power through five thermal power stations,” the Energy Minister stated.

The charges made by Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) regarding load shedding, coal supply etc are totally baseless. “During Congress-NCP rule, people in state experienced 12-hour load shedding. Their announcement of making load shedding free state by 2012 never came true. The NCP leaders should check the period of feeder functioning in their regime. They have no right to speak on load shedding and other issues. Even then, we are ready for a debate in this regard,” Bawankule said throwing a challenge to the NCP leaders.

Bawankule, who also holds portfolio of Excise, asserted that no permission has been given for online sale of liquor in state. “The State Government has not taken any decision on permission. 35 liquor shops in Mumbai have been sealed. Some people had applied for online sale of liquor. But the state has no online policy. Online sale of liquor is a grave offence by law. The reports in media are baseless and hypothetical,” Bawankule declared.

Auckland celebrates the vibrant Diwali Festival

Mumbai: The Auckland Diwali Festival is one of the city’s most colourful cultural festivals, celebrating traditional and contemporary Indian culture in New Zealand’s largest city. From Rangoli competitions to Indian dance performances, this family-friendly festival is being held for all age-groups to indulge Diwali festivitie.

On Friday, 19 October, locals and tourists can experience the ‘Chalk It Up’ rangoli-drawing competition in Freyberg Place and Diwali-themed activities in Ellen Melville Centre. Visitors can have a go at DIY henna (mehendi), learn how to drape a saree, create rangoli patterns to take home and play interactive digital Hindi language games. There will also be different Indian snacks to sample – sweet mithai treats and savoury namkeen nibbles.

The festival will officially kick off on Saturday, 20 October with a mix of performances, from Bollywood to Punjabi, Gujarati to Bharat Natyam, Rajasthani to Hindustani and more, across three areas of the city centre – the Aotea Square Stage, the Queen St Stage and corner of Queen and Wakefield.

Hundreds of protesting PAPs occupy MLA hostel in Nagpur

NAGPUR: Hundreds of people affected by the Gosikhurd Dam project Friday entered the MLA hostel here and occupied it. The protest, which started around 4PM, is being led by Independent MLA from Achalpur Bacchu Kadu.

These PAPs, hailing from 40-50 villages in the vicinity of the Gosikhurd Dam, shouted slogans demanding compensation. A large posse of police personnel has been deployed to bring the situation under control. The MLA hostel complex in the city’s Civil Lines area here has three wings.

Kadu told reporters that an increase in the water level of the dam had affected villages in the vicinity, blocking roads, and farmers were unable to harvest crops. The MLA said that several PAPs had been rehabilitated 25 kilometres away from their original villages.

“We demand that PAPs should get full rehabilitation settlement and proper facilities. The PAPs have also not got jobs despite assurances. If not jobs, they should be given money,” he said. The Gosikhurd dam is situated in Bhandara district.

सायना नेहवाल ची जपानच्या नोझुमी ओकुहारावर मात

भारताची अनुभवी महिला बॅडमिंटनपटू सायना नेहवाल ने डेन्मार्क ओपन बॅडमिंटन स्पर्धेत उपांत्य फेरीत प्रवेश केला आहे. सायनाने जपानच्या नोझुमी ओकुहाराला १७-२१, २१-१६, २१-१२ अशा ३ सरळ सेट्समध्ये पराभव केला. ५८ मिनीटं चाललेल्या सामन्यात सायनाने आपला सर्व अनुभव पणाला लावत ओकुहाराची झुंज मोडून काढली. याआधी उपांत्यपूर्व सामन्यात सायनाने जपानच्याच अकाने यामागुचीला पराभूत केलं होतं.

सलामीच्या सेटमध्ये ओकुहाराने आघाडी घेत चांगली सुरुवात केली होती, काही कालावधीनंतर सायना नेहवाल ने ओकुहाराला चांगली टक्कर देण्याचा प्रयत्न केला. मात्र ओकुहाराने आपली आघाडी कायम ठेवली. पहिल्या सेटच्या मध्यांतरापर्यंत ओकुहाराने आपल्याकडे ११-६ अशी ५ गुणांची आघाडी कायम ठेवली. मध्यांतरानंतर ओकुहाराने काही झटपट गूण मिळवले, सायनानेही यादरम्यान काही चांगले फटके खेळत आपलं अस्तित्व दाखवून दिलं. मात्र ओकुहाराने १७-२१ च्या फरकाने पहिला सेट जिंकत सामन्यात आघाडी घेतली.

दुसऱ्या सेटमध्येही सायना नेहवालने केलेल्या आक्रमक सुरुवातीवर ओकुहाराने पाणी फिरवत सामन्यात आघाडी घेतली. मात्र मध्यांतराच्या दरम्यान ओकुहाराने केलेल्या क्षुल्लक चुकांचा फायदा घेत सायना नेहवाल ने सामन्यात पुनरागमन केलं. यानंतर मध्यांतरानंतर सायनाने आक्रमक फटके खेळत ओकुहाराला कोर्टच्या दोन्ही दिशांना पळवलं, ज्यामुळे ओकुहारा काहीशी दमलेली पहायला मिळाली. अखेर २१-१६ च्या फरकाने सायनाने सेट जिंकत सामन्यात दणक्यात पुनरागमन केलं.

तिसऱ्या सेटमध्ये सुरुवातीला दोन्ही खेळाडू बरोबरीत खेळत होत्या. मात्र सायनाने संधी हेरुन ओकुहारावर दबाव टाकण्यास सुरुवात करत सामन्यात आघाडी घेतली. तिसऱ्या सेटमध्ये ओकुहारा सायनाचा सामना करु शकली नाही, ज्यामुळे मध्यांतरापर्यंत एकतर्फी खेळात सायनाने ११-३ अशी मोठी आघाडी घेतली. मध्यांतरानंतर ओकुहाराने सामन्यात पुनरागमन करण्याचा प्रयत्न केला, मात्र तिचे हे प्रयत्न सायना नेहवाल ने हाणून पाडत २१-१२ च्या फरकाने सेट जिंकत सामन्यामध्येही बाजी मारली.

Amritsar train Accident : 61 lives lost

Amritsar : At least 61 people were killed and 72 injured when a crowd of Dussehra revellers that had spilled onto railway tracks while watching burning of Ravana effigy was run over by a train near Amritsar last night.

According to some officials, the accident was triggered by a stampede when a section of the crowd moved towards the track to avoid exploding crackers from the effigy. Just during that moment, two trains arrived from the opposite direction, giving little time to people to escape. One of the trains crashed through the crowd, killing 61 and injuring a lot more.

The diesel multiple unit train was coming from Hoshiarpur as scheduled around 7 pm. According to eyewitnesses, the event normally happened earlier but this time it was delayed as the chief guest, former local MLA and wife of Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu, Navjot Kaur Sidhu, arrived late.

नागपूरात शुद्ध पाण्याचा काळा धंदा जोरात

नागपूर : बक्कळ नफा कमावण्यासाठी शहरात शुद्ध पाण्याचा काळा धंदा जोरात सुरू आहे. शहराच्या अनेक भागात विनापरवाना पाणी विक्रेते मिनरल वॉटरच्या नावाखाली साधे पाणी विकत आहेत.

विनापरवाना पाणी विक्रत्यांचे प्रकरण न्यायप्रविष्ट असल्याने अन्न व औषध प्रशासन विभाग कारवाईला पुढे धजावत नाही. याचाच गैरफायदा हे अवैध पाणी विक्रेते घेत आहेत.

९० टक्के आजार हे अशुद्ध पाण्यामुळे होतात, असे डॉक्टर सांगतात. त्यामुळे घराबाहेर वा प्रवासात असताना प्रत्येक जण शुद्ध पाण्याच्या शोधात असतो. त्यासाठी बाटलीमागे २० ते ३० रुपये मोजत असतो, परंतु पैसे मोजूनही त्याला अशुद्ध पाणीच प्यावे लागत आहे.

उपराजधानीत अनेक ठिकाणी बाटलीबंद आणि कॅनमधून पिण्याचे पाणी पुरवणारी प्रतिष्ठाने गल्लोगल्ली सुरू झाली आहेत. शहरात जवळपास ६० नोंदणीकृत तर शंभरहून अधिक विनापरवाना पाणी विक्रेते आहेत. या व्यवसायात मिळणाऱ्या प्रचंड नफ्यामुळे अनधिकृत कंपन्यांची संख्या दरोज वाढत आहे. सरासरी वीस रुपये प्रतिबाटली दराने पाणी विकणाऱ्या या कंपन्या एक बाटली पाण्यामागे केवळ एक ते दोन रुपये खर्च करतात. २० लिटरची पाण्याची कॅन ७० रुपयात विकत असून त्यामागे ५० रुपयांचा थेट नफा ते कमावतात. शिवाय एक लिटर पाण्याच्या बाटलीच्या प्लास्टिकची तपासणी होत नसल्याने पाण्याच्या शुद्धतेवरही प्रश्न कायम आहे. या पाण्याची तपासणी नियमित होत नसल्याने हे पाणी जीवघेणे ठरण्याची शक्यता नाकारता येत नाही.

नागपुर: घरात घुसून तरुणीवर तलवारीने प्राणघातक हल्ला

नागपूर : लातूर येथे तरुणीची घरात घुसून हत्या केल्याचे प्रकरण ताजे असतानाच उपराजधानी नागपुरात असाच एक प्रकार घडला आहे. नागपूरमध्ये तुकडोजी नगर येथे भर दिवसा एका तरुणीवर घरात घुसून तलवारीने सपासप वार करण्यात आले. यात ही तरुणी गंभीर जखमी झाली असून तिच्यावर रुग्णालयात उपचार सुरू आहेत. राणा प्रताप नगर पोलीस स्थानकाच्या हद्दीमध्ये हा प्रकार घडला आहे. या प्रकरणी पोलिसांनी आरोपीला ताब्यात घेतलं असून त्याचे नाव शुभम मरस्कोले आहे.

मिळालेल्या माहितीनुसार, शुक्रवारी दुपारी अकरा ते बाराच्या दरम्यान पीडित तरुणी घरी असताना शुभम मरस्कोले हा तरुण तलवारीसारखं शस्त्र हातात घेऊन तिच्या घरात घुसला. आरोपीने तरुणीवर सपासप वार केले. यात तरुणी गंभीर जखमी झाली. तरुणीच्या किंचाळण्याच्या आवाजाने शेजाऱ्यांनी तिच्या घराकडे धाव घेतली तेव्हा ती रक्ताच्या थारोळ्यात पडलेली होती. शेजाऱ्यांनी याची माहिती पोलिसांना दिली. पोलिसांनी तात्काळ घटनास्थळी धाव घेत गंभीर जखमी तरुणीला रुग्णालयात दाखल केले. ही घटना घडल्याच्या काही तासांच्या आत पोलिसांनी आरोपीला अटक केली आहे.

तीन दिवसांपूर्वी लातूरध्येही अपूर्वा यादव या तरुणीची प्रियकराच्या मित्रानंच घरात घुसून हत्या केली होती. प्रेमात फसवणूक झाल्यानं प्रियकराला आत्महत्या करावी लागली होती म्हणून त्याच्या मित्रानं सुडाच्या भावनेनं अपूर्वाची हत्या केल्याचं उघड झालं. आता नागपूरमध्येही प्रेम प्रकरणातून हत्येचा प्रयत्न झाल्यामुळे राज्यात तरुणींवरील वाढत्या हल्ल्यांचा मुद्दा ऐरणीवर आलाय.

Rajnath Singh Celebrates Dussehra With BSF Jawans

Bikaner : Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday celebrated Dussehra and performed ‘shastra puja’ with the BSF along the highly sensitive Indo-Pak border.

This was for the first time that a senior minister of the central government conducted the ‘shastra puja’ or worship of weapons on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami along India’s border with Pakistan.

The home minister, who arrived at the frontier headquarters of the Border Security Force (BSF) in Bikaner last evening, celebrated Dussehra festival with the jawans, an official said.

‘Shastra puja’ is part of the Dussehra festival which is celebrated for the victory of Lord Ram over Ravana.

During the two-day visit, the home minister interacted with the family members of the BSF personnel, attended a feast with the jawans and addressed the security personnel.

India’s first cruiseliner set to sail from Mumbai to Goa on Oct 20

Panjim : Captain Irwin Sequeira, who has more than 15 years of experience in sailing, and his crew are all set for the launch of the first cruiseliner of India. Having steered more than 60 ships in his career, Sequeira said he is excited to hit Mumbai waters on Saturday with his merchant vessel, MV Angriya — owned by Angriya Sea Eagles Private Limited — which is going to be the first cruise from Mumbai with a carrying capacity of 400 passengers.

“We are launching the ship at a time when the weather is good. Though, as per the weather report, we may face short storms on the way, but overall it appears to be neat,” said Sequeira, a resident of Bandra.

The cruise, which has six decks and 104 cabins, can ferry 399 passengers at a time. Price of one-way ticket will range between Rs 7,000 and Rs 12,000. The cruise will run four times a week, except during monsoons.

Co-founder of talent management agency KWAN Anirban Blah was rescued by the Vashi Traffic Police in the small hours of Friday after he was found attempting to jump off the old Vashi bridge.

Blah is accused of sexual harassment by four women during the ongoing #MeToo movement. He had to resign from the firm after the business reportedly went down. He was also asked by his partners to step down from his position, after the allegations surfaced. The incident took place at 12:30 am on Friday. Blah was seen exiting a cab a little far off the bridge, the police said. A traffic constable saw him walking on the isolated bridge and questioned him for roaming around the area at that time

Blah was then caught and taken to the Vashi police. He admitted to the police that he was depressed since allegations against him were made, which made him want to end his life. Vashi Traffic Senior Inspector Satish Gaikwad said that Blah underwent counselling and was handed over to his family members at 3:00 am after his detailed statement was recorded. There has been no case of offence registered against him in the matter.

डीजे आणि डॉल्बी सिस्टीमवर न्यायालयाची बंदी कायम

मुंबई : महाराष्ट्र सरकारनं डीजे आणि डॉल्बी सिस्टीमवर लावलेली बंदी कोर्टानं कायम ठेवली आहे. त्यामुळे तूर्तास डीजेचा आवाज बंदच राहणार आहे. गणेशोत्सव आणि नवरात्रोत्सव संपन्न झाल्यामुळे हायकोर्टानं डीजेवरील बंदी उठवावी अशी मागणी डीजे मालकांनी एका याचिकेद्वारे कोर्टाकडे केली होती. पण बंदीला अंतिम स्थगिती द्यायला कोर्टानं नकार दिलाय.

दोन आठवड्यांनी या प्रकरणाची पुन्हा सुनवाई होणार आहे. राज्यातील डीजे बंदी उठवण्यासाठी मुंबई हायकोर्टानं स्पष्ट नकार दिल्यानं सध्या तरी डीजेचा आवाज बंदच राहणार आहे. डीजे सिस्टीम सुरू करताच त्याचा किमान आवाज ध्वनिप्रदूषणाची कमाल पातळी गाठत असल्याचा सरकारचा दावा खोटा आहे, असा दावा याचिककर्ते असलेल्या पाला या संघटनेच्या वतीनं कोर्टात करण्यात आला. त्यासाठी डीजे सिस्टिमची उपकरणं तयार करणाऱ्या परदेशी कंपन्याकडून आलेल्या अहवालाचा दाखला दिलाय. मात्र राज्याचे महाधिवक्ता आशुतोष कुंभकोणी हे आपल्या दाव्यावर ठाम असून राज्य सरकार आपल्या प्रतिज्ञापत्रात ही गोष्ट सिद्ध करेल असा विश्वास त्यांनी कोर्टासमोर व्यक्त केलाय.

Four activists of Bhim Army arrested for showing black flags to Fadnavis

Nagpur : Four activists of Bhim Army were on Thursday arrested for showing black flag to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis when he was proceeding toward Deekshabhoomi for attending the main function of Dhammachakra Pravartan Din celebration.

The arrested activists have been identified as Amol Munnalal Chimankar (25), Sangaratna Narendra Patil (17), both residents of Kamptee, Prashant Milind Bansod (29), President of Bhim Army, Nagpur City and Ajay Ambadas Bhimte (30), President of Bhim Army, Nagpur Rural.

On Thursday around 6.55 pm, the Chief Minister Fadnavis was going to Deekshabhoomi to attend the main function of Dhammachakra Pravartan Din celebration. Midway near Bajaj Nagar, the four activists ran towards convoy of Fadnavis and showed black flags to him. The activists also raised slogans against the Chief Minister.

Policemen on duty managed to round up two of the activists Amol Chimankar and Sangaratna Narendra Patil on the spot. However, the two other activists Prashant Bansod and Ajay Bhimte escaped but later they too were arrested.

The four arrested activists were booked by Bajaj Nagar police under Section 135 of Mumbai Police Act.

A part of her review read “Badhaai Ho is fashioned as a comedy of manners, as it goes about showing us nosey neighbours and nasty relatives and garish weddings in the very middle-class society that the Kaushiks inhabit. And as long as the film is in the hands of the veterans, with Gupta coming up with a pitch-perfect performance as a loving wife, mother, dutiful daughter-in-law, while also being her own person, and Rao keeping in step with her, it works. We gasp just as they do when they hear the ‘good news’, we smile when we see the tender sizzle between the two: just for the fact of showing that parents can have sexual feelings for each other, Badhaai Ho needs to congratulated.”

देशातील शेतकऱ्यांना पाण्याच्या संकटातून बाहेर काढण्यासाठी प्रधानमंत्री कृषी सिंचन योजनेतंर्गत अडकून पडलेल्या विविध योजना पूर्ण करण्यावर सरकारचा भर आहे. महाराष्ट्र सरकारने जलयुक्त शिवार योजनेच्या माध्यमातून जलसंकटावर मात करण्याचा प्रयत्न केला. या योजनेमुळे राज्यातील १६ हजार गावे दुष्काळ मुक्त झाली, आणखी ९ हजार गावे दुष्काळ मुक्तीच्या मार्गावर आहेत असे सांगत मोदींनी मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांचे कौतुक केले.

Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, the film is set to release on November 8. The film is based on Philip Meadows Taylor’s 1839 novel Confessions of a Thug where the film weaves a story about a thug named Ameer Ali and his gang, whose nefarious ways posed a serious challenge to the British Empire in India between 1790 and 1805.

नागपूर : दीक्षाभूमी या पवित्र स्थळाचा विकास करताना जागतिक दर्जाचे वारसास्थळ ठरावे व जगातील अनुयायी येथे यावे यासाठी शंभर कोटी रुपयांचा विकास आराखडा मंजूर करण्यात आला असून त्यापैकी 40 कोटी रुपयांच्या पहिल्या टप्प्यातील निधीचा धनादेश देण्यात आला आहे. या पवित्र भूमिच्या विकासासाठी निधी कमी पडू देणार नाही, अशी ग्वाही मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांनी दिली.

दीक्षाभूमी येथे डॉ.बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर स्मारक समिती यांच्यावतीने 62 व्या धम्मचक्र प्रवर्तनदिनाच्या मुख्य सोहळ्यात मार्गदर्शन करताना ते बोलत होते.

यावेळी केंद्रीय परिवहन मंत्री नितीन गडकरी, केंद्रीय सामाजिक न्यायमंत्री रामदास आठवले, पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे, सामाजिक न्यायमंत्री राजकुमार बडोले, महापौर नंदा जिचकार, महात्मा फुले आर्थिक विकास महामंडळाचे अध्यक्ष राजाभाऊ सरवदे, खासदार विकास महात्मे, सर्वश्री आमदार नाना श्यामकुळे, प्रकाश गजभिये, डॉ.मिलिंद माने, कमलताई गवई, भंते नागार्जून सुरई ससाई, सचिव सदानंद फुलझेले, राजेंद्र गवई आदी उपस्थित होते.

यावेळी दीक्षाभूमीच्या विकास आराखड्यासाठी मंजूर करण्यात आलेल्या शंभर कोटींच्या निधीपैकी 40 कोटी रुपयांचा पहिल्या टप्प्यातील निधी मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांच्या हस्ते स्मारक समितीला प्रदान करण्यात आला. मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस, केंद्रीय परिवहन मंत्री नितीन गडकरी व सर्व मान्यवरांनी धम्मचक्र प्रवर्तन दिनानिमित्त शुभेच्छा दिल्या.

मुख्यमंत्री म्हणाले, धम्मचक्र प्रवर्तन दिन सर्वांसाठी प्रेरणादायी असून डॉ. बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर यांनी याच दिवशी लाखो अनुयायांना धम्माचा, अहिंसेचा, पंचशीलाचा मार्ग दाखविला. गौतम बुद्धांनी साऱ्या जगाला आपल्या प्रेमाच्या शक्तीने जिंकले. डॉ.बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर यांनीही तथागत गौतम बुद्धांच्या पंचशीलाच्या माध्यमातून शिकवण दिली. धम्मतत्वांच्या आधारावरच भारतीय संविधानाची निर्मिती झाली आहे. डॉ. बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर यांनी स्वातंत्र्य, समता व बंधुता या शिकवणीचा संविधानामध्ये समावेश केला. आपल्या देशाचे संविधान जगातील सर्वोत्तम संविधान आहे. डॉ.बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर यांनी दिलेल्या संविधानाच्या माध्यमातूनच देशाने प्रगतीची विविध शिखरे गाठली आहेत. राज्यातील 32 हजार शाळांमध्ये संविधान वाचन सुरु असून यासाठी शिक्षकांना प्रशिक्षण देण्यात आले आहे. संविधानातील मुल्यांची शिकवण प्रत्येक शाळांमधून दिली जात असून या मुल्यांच्या आधाराने अनेक चांगले बदल घडतील. मुंबईतील इंदू मिल येथे डॉ.बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर यांचे भव्य स्मारक उभारण्यात येत आहे. दीक्षाभूमी हे जगाचे वैभव असून जागतिक दर्जाचे वारसास्थळ म्हणून हे विकसित करण्यात येत आहे.

दीक्षाभूमी येथील विकास कामांसाठीचा आराखडा तयार करण्यात आला आहे. यासाठी शंभर कोटी रुपये मंजूर करण्यात आले असून त्यापैकी 40 कोटी रुपयांचा पहिला टप्प्यातील निधी वितरीत करण्यात आला आहे. हा विकास आराखडा वेगाने प्रगती पथावर नेण्यासाठी यापुढेही भरीव निधी उपलब्ध करुन दिला जाईल. अनुसूचित जातीच्या विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी तसेच विविध लाभार्थ्यांसाठी विविध विभागांच्या माध्यमातून विकास योजना राबविण्यात येत आहे. देशासाठी डॉ.बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर यांनी दिलेले संविधानच सर्वतोपरी मार्गदर्शक असून या संविधानाच्या आधारावरच देशाची वाटचाल होईल, असेही मुख्यमंत्री फडणवीस यांनी सांगितले.

केंद्रीय परिवहन मंत्री नितीन गडकरी म्हणाले, तथागत गौतम बुद्धांचे विचार सर्व जगासाठी मार्गदर्शक असून या विचारांचा अवलंब अनेकांनी केला आहे. गौतम बुद्धांच्या विचारातून आपणही प्रेरणा घेतली पाहिजे. दीक्षाभूमी येथील विविध विकासकामांसाठी निधी उपलब्ध करण्यात आला असून आराखड्यातील यापुढील कामांसाठीही भरीव निधी उपलब्ध करुन देण्यात येईल. केंद्र शासनाच्या माध्यमातून लुंबीनी, गया, सारनाथ, कुशीनगर यासारखी बौद्धस्थळे बुद्धीस्ट सर्कीट अंतर्गत महामार्गांनी जोडण्यात येत आहे. या महामार्गाच्या बांधणीचे काम वेगात सुरु असून याद्वारे परदेशी पर्यटक व लाखो अनुयायांना सुविधा उपलब्ध होणार असल्याचेही श्री. गडकरी यांनी सांगितले.

‘If BJP Won’t Build Ram Temple, We Will’ – Uddhav Thackeray

Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray has warned Prime Minster Narendra Modi that if the BJP government doesn’t fulfil its promise to the Hindus of the nation to build the Ram temple in Ayodhya, the Sena would do it.

Addressing the sainiks at the party’s annual Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park, Thackeray accused the BJP failing to control inflation or create employment, and ignoring issues that affect the common man’s life.

Announcing his decision to visit Ayodhya on 25 November, Thackeray asked BJP to clarify its stand on the Ram Mandir issue. “The BJP should clarify to the public whether the Ram Mandir promise is a jumla. If it is one, then the Shiv Sena will look into it,” he said.

Uddhav Thackeray also predicted that the BJP could be voted out of power if it keeps on lying.

“The country has become a volcano because of your lies. Once this erupts, you will never be able to come back to power,” he said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the Indian Science Congress (ISC) in Nagpur on January 3, 2023

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil a portal for corporate social responsibility (CSR) and volunteering at a town hall with technology, startup and telecom chieftains on October 24 in an ambitious bid to consolidate such efforts to maximize their effect and help boost the government’s initiatives.

The ministry of electronics and IT is making hectic preparations for the launch of the portal, which is being developed by MyGov and will host CSR activities that have already been kicked off.

The idea is to create a resource pool and find a way to “harmonise efforts,” not just across companies, but also to “align” them with the priorities of the government in areas such as the Skill India, Digital Literacy, Financial Inclusion, and Swachh Bharat campaigns.

Kidambi Srikanth stuns Lin Dan to enter Denmark open quarterfinals

Kidambi Srikanth moved past former World No 1 Lin Dan of China 18-21, 21-17, 21-16 in the second round of the Denmark Open to enter men’s singles quarterfinals.

The 25-year old lost the first game after the two-time Olympic champion grabbed an early lead but the Indian maintained his superiority in the second and third games to keep his title defence hopes alive. In the quarterfinals, Srikanth will face compatriot Sameer Verma.

Sameer, who had beaten World no 2 Shi Yuqi in the first round, had pulled off a big win on Thursday (October 18) defeating Asian Games gold medallist Jonatan Christie 23-21, 6-21, 22-20 in 70 minutes. Sabarimala Temple: Two Women Reach Sabarimala Temple With Heavy Police Protection

Two women trying to reach the Sabarimala shrine in Kerala under heavy police protection and in riot gear were halted just short of history on Friday as protests by devotees and priests forced them to turn back 500 metres from the temple. A third did not even make it that far as the police said they would not be able to give her security.

The women, including a journalist, had covered a 5 km trek uphill and were minutes away from the 18 steps the golden steps that lead to the sanctum sanctorum of the famous shrine where no woman between 10 and 50 years has been allowed for centuries.

On these steps sat about 20 priests today, chanting and clapping, ready to form a barrier if the women did make it through the last half km. The priests threatened to stop rituals and prayers and shut down the temple.

“We have decided to lock the temple and handover the keys and leave. I stand with the devotees. I do not have any other option,” said Kandararu Rajeevaru, the head priest of Sabarimala.

As the police conveyed the message to the women, they agreed to turn back. “We have told the female devotees about the situation, they will now be going back. So we are pulling pack. They have decided to return,” said Inspector General S Sreejith, who led the police contingent.

Around the same time, another woman, Mary Sweety, began the climb to the shrine, declaring she had visited churches, mosques, temples and “wanted to see Ayyappa”. This time, said reports, the police asked the 46-year-old to take the journey on her own. The Supreme Court order last month overturned the ban on women of menstruating age entering the temple of Lord Ayyappa.

In the three days that Sabarimala has been open for the first time since the landmark order, no woman below 50 has made it to the shrine. Devotees believe the court has not considered sentiment and tradition; Lord Ayyappa, they say, is celibate and women of menstrual age are “impure”.

“I believe I’ve come here to enforce the Supreme Court order. Those women have the right to visit the temple,” Mr Sreejith had said in the morning. “I am also an Ayyappa devotee,” he had appealed to protesting devotees. But the protesters refused to back down.

Cash-starved NMC to get Rs 150 crore special fund from State Govt

Nagpur: The cash-starved Nagpur Municipal (NMC) Corporation has good news. The State Government has approved the proposal of the civic body to release Rs 150 crore out of Rs 325 crore as special grants in this month for completing the ongoing developmental works in the Orange City. The fund will be received by NMC through district administration. The government is likely to release remaining funds before Diwali festival.

The dent in NMC coffers could be gauged from the fact that the September salary of employees has still not been disbursed. Dussehra festival is round the corner and Deepawali is next month. The employees could face hardships if they are deprived of salaries for consecutive two months.

Faced with the horrible financial condition, the Chairman of Standing Committee Virendra Kukreja was himself in Mumbai on Tuesday and urged the Chief Minister to clear the proposal of civic body for release of Rs 325 crore special funds. Kukreja also urged Fadnavis to hike the monthly GST grant by Rs 30-35 crore.

Contractors are also agitating against the local body demanding their pending dues. The bills of contractors have not been cleared from March 2018. The amount of pending bills has reached around Rs 300 crore. As a result, the contractors have been facing enormous difficulties in running their own affairs. The NMC Contractors Welfare Association had yesterday met Additional Municipal Commissioner and apprised him about the pending bills. But the meeting failed to resolve the deadlock. Now, the contractors are planning to stage “havan” agitation to highlight their plight. The committed expenditure of the local body over salary, pension grants, electricity, raw water bill, payment to Orange City Water, petrol, diesel, telephone bills, security, repayment of loan, garbage lifting, Government’s cess, etc is around Rs 92 crore. Presently, it is very difficult for NMC to maintain balance between developmental works and committed expenditure. This special grant may give some relief to office bearers of the civic body.

The State Government has warned NMC to provide land on top priority to Central and State Government’s projects otherwise their grants will be stopped. The State Government in its latest directions expressed deep concerned over non-cooperation of the local bodies in providing lands for projects like Water Treatment Plant, Sewage Treatment Plant, Pumping Stations and others.

The civic body will have to build cement roads on its own expenses. The State Government will release funds only after completion of the roads. According to Finance Department of NMC, the Standing Committee has exhausted all its funds allotted for different heads in 2018-19 Budget. 75 percent of special funds of Mayor and Deputy Mayor too have been spent. But still, the NMC administration is continuing with tenders, quotations and work orders.

समाधी शताब्दी सांगता सोहळ्यासाठी पंतप्रधान मोदी शिर्डीत दाखल

शिर्डी – साईबाबा समाधी शताब्दी वर्ष सोहळ्याच्या सांगता समारंभासाठी नरेंद्र मोदींचे शिर्डीत आगमन झाले आहे. मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस आणि राज्यपाल सी विद्यासागर राव यांनी विमानतळावर मोदींचे स्वागत केले. याठिकाणी विविध विकास कामांचा शुभारंभ केल्यानंतर मोदी उपस्थितांना संबोधित करतील त्यानंतर घरकूल योजनेच्या लाभार्थ्यांना घरांचे वाटप केले जाणार आहे.

पंतप्रधानांच्या शिर्डी दौऱ्यासाठी प्रशासनाने जय्यत तयारी केली असून सुरक्षिततेसाठी कडक उपाययोजना केल्या आहेत. ९ अतिरिक्त पोलिस अधीक्षक, १५० सहायक उपनिरीक्षक, राज्य राखीव दलाच्या दोन तुकड्या, दहशतविरोधी पथकाच्या चार टीम, बॉम्बशोधक पथकाच्या ९ पथके, शीघ्र कृतिदलाची ८ पथके, दंगल नियंत्रण पथकाची ६ पथके, व्हिडिओ कॅमेरे व ड्रोनची नजर असणार आहे.

सकाळी १० वाजता पंतप्रधानांचे विशेष विमानाने शिर्डी विमानतळावर आगमन झाले. मंदिरात साईंची पाद्यपूजा व दर्शन झाल्यावर लेंडीबागेत जाऊन साई समाधी शताब्दी सोहळ्याचा ध्वज उतरवतील. या वेळी राज्यपाल, मुख्यमंत्री व विरोधी पक्षनेते विखे पाटील उपस्थित असतील. त्यानंतर सभास्थळी गेल्यावर संस्थानच्या विविध विकासकामांचे भूमिपूजन मोदींच्या हस्ते होणार आहे. याच कार्यक्रमात प्रधानमंत्री आवास योजनेतील लाभार्थींना घरकुल वाटपाचा कार्यक्रम होणार आहे. उत्सवाच्या सांगता दिवशी शुक्रवारी पहाटे ५.०५ वा. श्रींचे मंगलस्नान व नंतर दर्शन, ६.४५ वा. गुरुस्थान मंदिरात रुद्राभिषेक पूजा होईल. १० वा. गोपाळकाला कीर्तन व दहिहंडीचा कार्यक्रम होणार असून दुपारी १२.१० वाजता मध्यान्ह आरती व तीर्थप्रसाद, सायंकाळी ६.१५ वाजता श्रींची धुपारती, रात्री ७.३० ते १०.१५ या वेळेत प्रसिद्ध गायिका अनुराधा पौडवाल यांचा भजनसंध्या कार्यक्रम असून रात्री १०.३० वाजता शेजारती होईल.

नागपुर : ६२ वा धम्म परिवर्तन दिवस गुरुवारी पवित्र दीक्षाभूमि येथे साजरा केला गेला. धम्मचक्र प्रवर्तन दिनाच्या मुख्य सोहळ्याकरिता देश-विदेशातून आलेल्या लाखो अनुयायांनी दीक्षाभूमी सजली होती. दीक्षाभूमीवरील मुख्य सोहळा सायंकाळी ७ वाजेपासून सुरू झाला. या कार्यक्रमाला मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस आणि केंद्रीय रस्ते वाहतूक मंत्री नितीन गडकरी यांनी प्रामुख्याने हजेरी लावली.

धम्मचक्र प्रवर्तन दिनाच्या मुख्य सोहळा डॉ. बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर स्मारक समिती दीक्षाभूमीचे अध्यक्ष भदंत आर्य नागार्जुन सुरेई ससाई यांच्या अध्यक्षतेखाली पार पडला. कार्यक्रमाला मुख्य केंद्रीय सामाजिक न्याय राज्यमंत्री रामदास आठवले, कर्नाटक चे उपमुख्यमंत्री डॉ. जी. परमेश्वरा, सामाजिक न्यायमंत्री राजकुमार बडोले, पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुले आणि महापौर नंदा जिचकार प्रमुख पाहुणे म्हणून उपस्थित होते.

स्मारक समितीचे सचिव सदानंद फुलझेले यांच्या मार्गदर्शनाखाली सदस्य विलास गजघाटे, एन.आर. सुटे, डॉ. सुधीर फुलझेले प्रामुख्याने उपस्थित होते. दीक्षाभूमि परिसरात मोठ्या प्रमाणात स्टॉल्स लावण्यात आले होते. त्यात प्रामुख्याने चिकित्सा शिविर, रोजगार मार्गदर्शन केंद्र, कानून मशविरा केंद्र आदि प्रकारचे स्टॉल्स लावण्यात आले होते. परिसरातील सर्वात मोठे आकर्षण इथला पुस्तक बाजार होता.

नागपुर : दसऱ्याला सायंकाळी शहरातील कस्तुरचंद पार्क येथे ६० फुटाच्या रावणाचे, तसेच कुंभकर्ण आणि मेघनाथ यांच्या पुतळ्याचे दहन करण्यात आले. या कार्यक्रमाला राज्याचे मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस आणि केंद्रीय मंत्री नितीन गडकरी उपस्थित होते.

मागील ५० वर्षांपासून कस्तूरचंद पार्क येथे रावण दहन सोहळ्याचे आयोजन करण्यात येत आहे आणि हा उत्सव आता नागपूर शहराची ओळख बनला आहे.रावणाचे दहन म्हणजे वाईट प्रवृत्तीचे दहन आहे. या भावनेतून रावण दहनाचे नागपुरात आयोजन करण्यात आले होते. या रावण दहनाच्या अगोदर रामायनातील संजीवनी बूटी हनुमान लक्ष्मण करता आणतात ते दृश्य नाटका द्व्रारे दाखवण्यात आले.

रावण दहनाचा हा सोहळा बघण्यासाठी नागपूरकरांनीमोठ्या प्रमाणात गर्दी केली होती. सनातन युवक धर्म समिती तर्फे रावण दहनाच्या कार्यक्रम दरवर्षी आयोजन करण्यात येते. या उत्सवात शहरातील तसेच शहराच्या ग्रामीण भागातील नागरिक मोठ्या संख्येने सहभागी होतात. रावण दाहणाच्या सोहळ्याला काही मुल बाल हनुमान वेषभूषित सहभागी झाली होती.
