नागपूर : नागपुरात रविवारी झालेल्या केंद्रीय लोकसेवा आयोगाच्या (यूपीएससी) कंबाइंड डिफेन्स सर्व्हिसेस परीक्षेचा पेपर फुटल्याचे उघड झाले अाहे.
परीक्षा केंद्रात मोबाइल बंदी असताना अश्विनी जनार्दन सरोदे (२३) या परीक्षार्थी तरुणीने चक्क पाण्याच्या बाटलीत लपवून मोबाइल आत नेला व त्याद्वारे प्रश्नपत्रिका फाेडली.
१८ नोव्हेंबरला देशभरातील विविध परीक्षा केंद्रांवर घेण्यात आली. या परीक्षेचे एक केंद्र रेशीमबागमधील जामदार हायस्कूलमध्ये होते. अश्विनी हिने परीक्षेचा अर्ज भरला होता. तिने परीक्षा केंद्रात मोबाईलसह प्रवेश केला. प्रश्नपत्रिका हाती येताच तिने त्याचे छायाचित्र मोबाईलद्वारे काढून घेतले व शुभम भास्करराव मुंदाने (२५) च्या व्हॉट्स अॅपवर पाठवले. त्यानंतर त्याने तिला प्रश्नांची उत्तरे पाठवली. यावेळी परीक्षा केंद्रावरील अधिकाऱ्यांना तरुणीचा संशय आला. त्यांनी सीसीटीव्ही कॅमेऱ्याचे चलचित्र तपासले व महिला कर्मचाऱ्याकडून तिची झडती घेतली. त्यावेळी तिच्याजवळ मोबाईल सापडला. तसेच तिने व्हॉट्स अॅपवरून मित्राला प्रश्नपत्रिका पाठवली असून उत्तर विचारल्याचे निष्पन्न झाले. त्यामुळे परीक्षा केंद्रावरील पर्यवेक्षक विनय दत्तात्रय निमगावकर (५१) रा. समर्थ नगरी, सोनेगाव यांनी पोलीस ठाण्यात तक्रार दिली.
पोलिसांनी गुन्हा दाखल करून अभियंता तरुणीसह तिच्या मित्राला अटक केली आहे. तिचा मित्रही अभियंता असून तो एका खासगी कंपनीत नोकरी करतो.
नागपूर : वेगळा विदर्भ आणि हलबा समाजाचा अनुसूचित जमातीमध्ये समावेश करावा, या मागणीसाठी तरुणांनी शहर बसवर दगडफेक केल्याची घटना समोर आली आहे.
हलबा समाजाच्या मागण्या आणि विदर्भ राज्य निर्मितीचा ठराव आणावा, या मागणीसाठी विदर्भ राज्य आघाडीचे नागपूर शहर सचिव कमलेश भगतकर यांनी आमरण उपोषण सुरू केले आहे. मात्र, ५ दिवस लोटूनही शासनाने अद्याप याची दखल घेतली नाही.
कमलेश भगतकर यांच्या आंदोलनाला यशस्वी करण्यासाठी विदर्भ राज्य आघाडीने सक्रिय पाठिंबा जाहीर केला आहे. त्याचप्रमाणे सर्वच राजकीय पक्षांनी व संघटनांनी त्यांना समर्थन दिले आहे. मात्र, ५ दिवसांपासून सुरू असलेल्या उपोषणाकडे सत्ताधाऱ्यांचे दुर्लक्ष होत आहे. त्यामुळे संतापलेल्या ४ तरुणांनी गंगाबाई घाट रोडवर बसवर दगडफेक केली. तसेच परिवहन मंडळाच्या बसवरही दगडफेक केली. या प्रकरणामुळे हलबा आंदोलन चिघळण्याची शक्यता वर्तवली जात आहे.
Wardha : At least three people were killed and several others were injured in an explosion in Pulgaon Army Depot of Maharashtra’s Wardha on Tuesday morning. AThe incident happened in a military firing range area of Wardha.
A defence official confirmed the death toll. “Three killed in explosion near ordnance depot in Maharashtra’s Wardha district.”
He added that explosion took place while disposing old explosives. “The incident took place around 7 am while ammunition was being unloaded.”
The deceased included an ammunition factory employee and two labourers.
In 2016, a blast at the ammunition depot at Pulgaon had claimed 16 lives.

नागपूर-भंडारा जिल्ह्याच्या वैनगंगा नदीत एका प्रेमी युगुलाने आत्महत्या केल्याची खळबळजनक घटना सोमवारी सकाळी उघडकीस आली आहे. दोन दिवसाअगोदर त्यांनी सामूहिक आत्महत्या केल्याचे प्रथम दर्शनी समोर येत आहे. या दोघांचे मृतदेह बाहेर काढून शवविच्छेदनासाठी भंडारा जिल्हा रुग्णालयात आणले आहे. मृत पावलेल्या मुलाचे नाव विशाल गणेश शेंडे (22) असून तो मुळचा जवाहर नगर पेट्रोल पंप (ठाणे) येथील रहिवाशी आहे. विशाल मजुरीचे काम करत होता. तर मुलगी चांदोरी येथील रहिवाशी असून दीक्षा मारबते असे तिचे नाव आहे.
मिळालेल्या माहितीनुसार दीक्षा आणि विशाल नात्यात मावस बहिणभाऊ लागतात. बहुतेक याच कारणामुळे या दोघांच्या प्रेमप्रकरणाला आणि लग्नाला घरच्यांचा विरोध असावा. त्यामुळेच या दोघांनी आत्महत्येचा निर्णय घेतला असावा, असा प्राथमिक अंदाज आहे.
सोमवारी ९ वाजताच्या दरम्यान कारधा गावाच्या वैनगंगा नदीतीरावर लोकांना 2 मृतदेह एकमेकांनी बिलगून पाण्यावर तरंगताना दिसले. याविषयीची माहिती कारधा पोलीस ठाण्यात देण्यात आली. पोलिसांनी घटनास्थळावरुन ढिवर बांधवांच्या सहाय्याने दोन्ही मृतदेह पाण्याबाहेर काढले. मृतदेह बाहेर काढल्यानंतर लक्षात आले की, हे दोन्ही प्रेमीयुगुल असून यांनी आत्महत्ये अगोदर एकमेकांच्या हातांना ओढणीने बांधून घेतले होते. त्यामुळे मरण पावल्यानंतर दोघांचे मृतदेह एकमेकांच्या सोबतच होते. त्यांच्या जवळ असलेल्या मोबाईलवरुन त्यांची ओळख पटवण्यात आली आहे.
विशालच्या आईने दिलेल्या माहितीनुसार, विशाल हा गुरुवारी घरामधून सायंकाळी 6 वाजता 100 रुपये घेऊन आत्याकडे मंडईसाठी जात असल्याचे सांगून निघून गेला. त्यानंतर सोमवारी सकाळी त्याचा मृतदेह कारधा गावातील वैनगंगा नदीच्या तिरावर मिळाल्याची माहिती मिळाली. त्यांनी घटना स्थळावर येऊन पाहणी केली असता विशालची आणि मुलीची ओळख पटवली.

मीडिया रिपोर्ट्स के मुताबिक आनंद कारज (सिख रिवाज से शादी) के लिए जोड़े को गुरुद्वारा जाना था, लेकिन गुरु ग्रंथ साहिब को ही इटली के होटल में मंगवा लिया गया। इस विवाद में इटली सिख समुदाय की ओर से आनंद करज रस्म को लेकर आपत्ति जताई गई है। इस पर बवाल मचता दिख रहा है। सिख समुदाय ने कहा है कि भारत में अकाल तख्त से इसकी शिकायत की जाएगी।

Mumbai : The Congress on Sunday termed Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray as “Thugs of Maharashtra”, while Fadnavis advised the opposition not to behave like “Gangs of Wasseypur”.
The ruling party and opposition indulged in sparring on the eve of state legislature’s winter session.
“Fadnavis and Thackeray are behaving like Thugs of Maharashtra,” Leader of Opposition in Assembly Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil said at a joint press conference of Congress and NCP. Like the recently released film “Thugs of Hindostan”, which has not fared well at box office, the BJP and Sena will flop in coming elections, the Congress leader said.
“Whether it is farm loan waiver or reservations, this government is involved in thuggery in everything. People will defeat these thugs,” said Vikhe-Patil. The opposition also boycotted customary pre-session tea party organised by the government.
“The state is facing a drought worse than that of 1972. We demand that Rs 50,000 per hectare compensation be given to farmers and Rs one lakh per hectare be paid to those who have orchards or grow sugarcane,” he said. He also demanded waiver of crop loan. NCP’s Dhananjay Munde, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council, said the government should announce Maratha and Dhangar reservations on the first day of the session.
“We will not let the house function unless the government announces relief measures for farmers and reservation for the two communities,” he said. Slamming the Sena for remembering Lord Ram ahead of polls, Vikhe-Patil said the party could not build a memorial for its founder Bal Thackeray in Mumbai in last four years but now it is raking up the Ram temple issue. “This is called thuggery,” he said, adding that instead of travelling and taking stock of drought situation in the state, Thackeray is running away to Ayodhya (where the Sena has planned a rally). “Ram is remembered only when `vanvas’ (political wilderness) is in store,” quipped Munde. Chief minister Fadnavis also resorted to Bollywood lexicon to counter opposition’s onslaught.
The opposition should be mature and “should not act like the Gangs of Wasseypur,” he said, referring to the acclaimed gangster film directed by Anurag Kashyap.
Nagpur: Police finally nabbed a troublesome mobile snatcher who targeted people talking on their smartphones and sped away from the scene of crime in a fashion similar to Bollywood movie ‘Dhoom’. Gittikhadan Police finally arrested 19-year-old Sanidhya alias Dadu Jaybharat Somkunvar in a mobile snatching case.
The case that led to his capture was where 24-year-old Abhishek Santosh Madavi’s mobile phone was snatched. The incident took place at Surendragad, Nagpur at around 8.30 pm on November 1 where two bikers snatched his phone. Abhishek approached the police station and filed his complaint saying that his Redmi Y2 smartphone was snatched. Subsequently, a case was registered under IPC 392, 34 and investigation was initiated into the same.
In the course of the investigation, cops traceed and located Abhishek’s mobile location in Dighori area of Nagpur on November 14. Soon after, Police reached Yogeshwar Nagar, Dighori area and detained Sanidhya alias Dadu.Upon questioning, Sanidhya admitted to his crimes and also gave the name and address of his partner who was detained. Accused Somkunvar and his friend snatched smartphones and sped away through narrow lanes in ‘Dhoom’ style. A total of 17 mobile phones have been recovered and a Bajaj Pulsar 220 bike used in the crime has also been confiscated.
Accused Somkunvar and his minor friend snatched many mobile phones across the city. They committed crimes in Gittikhadan, Nandanvan, Dhantoli, Sitabardi, Ambajhari and Sakkardara areas unabashedly.
Nagpur : Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is mulling a proposal to appoint private contractors for collection of property tax from the owners. Presently, more than 100 employees of local body are collecting property tax from the owners. The local body is eyeing to collect Rs 870 crore in the current financial year with the help of private contractors.
Virendra Kukreja, Standing Committee Chairman said, “We have directed Property Tax Department to prepare a proposal for appointment of contractors to collect property tax. The NMC will give them incentive for collection of tax above Rs 350 crore.” Meanwhile, the Department has distributed three lakh demands out of the 4.07 lakh demands generated by Cyber tech Company.
As against this dismal and disappointing performance, the Standing Committee set a very high target of Rs 870 crore from property tax including recovery of areas worth Rs 470 crore and Rs 400 crore from present year’s demand.” Briefing about another proposal, Kukreja said, “We will drill 347 bore wells to get more water during summer and have directed Water Works Department to identify the spots for borewells. The corporators will also review the list prepared by the Department.”
“Also Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) will dedicate Nari, Wanjara and Chinchbhuvan over head water tanks by November 30 for public use. The date for dedication of remaining Kalamna over head water tank will be decided later, Kukreja said. NMC will also construct 43 over head water tanks and 1 ground water tank under AMRUT scheme. Central Government and State Government have sanctioned Rs 273 crore for strengthening water network,” he informed.

आपातकालीन परिस्थितीत सुरक्षेसाठी कोणत्या उपाय योजना करायला हवे याचे प्रशिक्षण मॉक ड्रिलच्या माध्यमातून देण्यात आले. आणीबाणीची परिस्थिती उद्भवली तर त्यात अडकलेल्या व्यक्तींच्या बचावाकरता केल्या जाणाऱ्या उपाय योजनांची माहिती देण्यात आली. बचाव प्रक्रियेमध्ये बचाव यंत्राचा व यंत्रणांचा कसा वापर करावा ? अचानक घडलेल्या घटनेला कारणीभूत बाबींचे निरीक्षण करून आवश्यक नोंदी करणे का आवश्यक आहे ? याचे महत्व पटवून देत कार्यस्थळी उद्भवणाऱ्या धोक्यासंबंधी सविस्तर माहिती अधिकारी आणि कर्मचाऱ्यांना देण्यात आली.
या मॉक ड्रिल अंतर्गत एक कर्मचारी तब्बल ३० फूट पेक्षा ज्यास्त उंचीवर अडकला होता. त्याच्या बचावासाठी नाट्यमय पद्धतीने इतर कर्मचारी धावपळ करत आवश्यक उपकरण गोळा करीत होते. त्यांनतर नियोजित पद्धतीने उंचावर अडकलेल्या कर्मचाऱ्याला वाचविण्यात आले. यानंतर लगेच त्याला आवश्यक त्या सर्व सोयी सुविधा पुरविण्यात आल्या. कर्मचाऱ्याला सुरक्षितपणे वाचवल्यानंतरच आवश्यकतेनुसार वैद्यकीय तपासणी करून घटनेतील परिस्थितीवर नियंत्रण आणन्यात आले.
महा मेट्रोचे व्यवस्थापकीय संचालक डॉ. बृजेश दीक्षित यांनी दिलेल्या सल्ल्याप्रमाणे प्रकल्पांच्या विविध कार्यस्थळांवर मॉक ड्रिलचे आयोजन केले जाते. एका मॉक ड्रिलमध्ये किमान २० कर्मचाऱ्यांना प्रशिक्षण देण्यात येते. आतापर्यंत १८० पेक्षा ज्यास्त मॉक ड्रिलचे आयोजन महा मेट्रोतर्फे करण्यात आले असून सुमारे ४ हजार कर्मचाऱ्यांनी याचा लाभ घेतला आहे. महा मेट्रोतर्फे वेळोवेळी अश्या प्रकारे मॉकड्रिलचे आयोजन करण्यात येते. जमिनीच्या एका विशिष्ट उंचीवर रस्सीला धरून काम करणाऱ्या कामगारांपासून मॉक ड्रिलची सुरवात होते.
आंतरराष्ट्रीय मानकानुसार उंचावर काम करतांना जखमी झालेल्या कर्मचाऱ्यांना वाचवण्यासाठी साधारणतः ३० मिनिटाचा कालावधी लागतो. मात्र, महा मेट्रोने मॉक ड्रिलच्या माध्यमाने केवळ ११ मिनटात कश्याप्रकारे या कर्मचाऱ्यांना वाचवता येऊ शकते हे सिद्ध करून दाखवले. मॉक ड्रिल होत असतांना नागपूर वाहतूक पोलीस विभागांचे अधिकारी होते. वाहतूक अधिकाऱ्यांनी देखील यावेळी काही आवश्यक व महत्वाच्या घटकांची जाणीव उपस्थितांना करून दिली.
New Delhi : A CBI officer, who was probing the FIR lodged against Special Director Rakesh Asthana, Monday moved the Supreme Court seeking quashing of his transfer to Nagpur in Maharashtra.
Manish Kumar Sinha, an IPS officer who was part of the investigation team probing Asthana’s role in an alleged corruption case, mentioned his plea before a bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi for urgent hearing tomorrow.
The bench also comprising Justices S K Kaul and K M Joseph is scheduled to hear tomorrow the plea of CBI Director Alok Kumar Verma challenging the government’s decision of divesting him of duties and sending him on leave. Sinha said that his plea be also heard along with Verma tomorrow.
He has alleged that he was transferred to Nagpur and as a result has been taken out from the probe team investigating the FIR against Asthana.
Asthana has also been divested of his duties and sent on leave by the central government following his ongoing feud with the CBI Director.
The CBI had booked Asthana on allegations of receiving a bribe from an accused probed by him in a case linked to meat exporter Moin Qureshi.
Nagpur : A team of doctors at a city hospital performed a unique medical procedure where it transplanted two organs in one patient in a single operation.
This procedure was conducted in New Era Hospital, Lakadganj on Sunday. The emotional part deals with the courage and humanity shown by parents of the boy whose organs were donated to a patient in the hospital. The parents are laborers and the poor 23-year-old deceased too was working with them on daily wages.
Suraj ManoharDudhpachare, a resident of Suradevi, Koradi had met with an accident on Koradi Mahadula road when his two-wheeler was knocked by a speedy truck on November 15. Suraj suffered serious injuries including severe ones to his head. He was brought to New Era Hospital.
Dr Nilesh Agrawal, Neuro Surgeon, took lot of efforts to save the patient. Since Suraj was critical the efforts of Dr Agrawal went in vain. Finally, Dr Agrawal, Dr Parag Moon, Dr Amol Kokas and Dr Sahil Bansal declared Suraj as brain dead on November 17. The doctors at New Era Hospital did not have to take much effort to explain the importance of organ donation to the parents. The patient’s father Manohar Dudhpachare, brother Kailash and Sarpanch Sunil Dudhpachare along with mother Manda agreed to donate heart, two kidneys and liver. Accordingly, the hospital informed Zonal Transplant Coordination Committee (ZTCC). Dr Vibhavari Dani, President of ZTCC and Dr Ravi Wankhede, Secretary immediately gave their consent to donate two kidneys and one liver.
Heart alert was sent to regional and national level. Heart and lungs were also allocated at national level, but due to logistic problems and time limit team of doctors from other hospital could not reach Nagpur to retrieve the heart in time. Liver and one kidney were transplanted in New Era while another kidney was taken to Orange City Hospital and Research Institute (OCHRI).
This is Nagpur’s 39th brain stem dead donor,26th liver transplant, 24th liver donation since 2016. Under ZTCC, this is the 70 th kidney transplant in Nagpur since 2013.
Nagpur : Increasing incidents of indiscipline by tourists, Gypsy drivers and guides during jungle safari have compelled the management of Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR) put ban on carrying mobile phones inside the park.
N R Praveen, Field Director, TATR, Chandrapur, issued an order on Friday prohibiting use of mobile phones during jungle safari from December 1.
It may be mentioned here that a tigress had chased one Gypsy vehicle last week end in Agarzari buffer area of TATR, scaring tourists, including women, when she got disturbed either by provocating or by taking the vehicle close to her. In another incident occurred during same period, Gypsy drivers blocked the way of a tigress and her two cubs from both sides. The animals had to take a left turn to disappear in the jungle.
Praveen said in the order that it had been observed that the tourists, drivers and guides after sighting a tiger or leopard informed others on mobile. The other vehicles rush to that spot by breaking speed limit and corner the animal. This could prove deadly to the people inside, he pointed out.
Moreover, the tourists, drivers and guides click photographs of the carnivores/herbivores and circulate them through social media, making everybody know the places of movement of the animals. This information could be misused by anti-social elements, he said adding that the National Tiger Conservation Authority, Delhi, had already prohibited taking photographs of the animals. It is also learnt that some tourists even go close to tigers for taking selfie, which is also dangerous.
Praveen, therefore, said that he issued the order prohibiting tourists, drivers and guides to carry mobiles inside the park. They are also expected to inform the higher officers if anybody found violating the rules. The administration will take suitable action against the persons, if found flouting the rules, warned Praveen.
Meanwhile, Pilibhat Tiger Reserve authorities have made it mandatory to tourists recently to sign an indemnity bond, declaring that they will be totally responsible for any untoward incident occurred during jungle safari. The authorities will not be held responsible for it. They put a restriction on tourist vehicle to maintain a speed of 25 km/hr.

नागपूर : शहरातील वाढते प्रदूषण रोखण्यासाठी नागपूर महानगरपालिकेच्या बसेस आता सीएनजी गॅसवर परावर्तित करण्याचा निर्णय परिवहन समितीने घेतला आहे. शनिवारी (ता.१७) परिवहन समितीची बैठक मनपा मुख्यालयातील डॉ.पंजाबराव देशमुख सभागृहात आयोजित करण्यात आली होती. यावेळी या निर्णयाला मंजुरी देण्यात आली.
बैठकीला स्थायी समिती सभापती वीरेंद्र कुकरेजा, परिवहन समिती सभापती जितेंद्र (बंटी) कुकडे, उपसभापती प्रवीण भिसीकर, सदस्य नितीन साठवणे, नरेंद्र वालदे, सदस्या अभिरूची राजगिरे, उज्ज्वला शर्मा, विद्या मडावी, वैशाली रोहणकर, अर्चना पाठक, कल्पना कुंभलकर, निगम सचिव हरिश दुबे, परिवहन व्यवस्थापक शिवाजी जगताप, वरीष्ठ लेखाधिकारी श्री.कावळे, प्रशासकीय अधिकारी रवींद्र पागे, अरूण पिपरूडे, रामराव मातकर, सुकीर सोनटक्के, विनय भारद्वाज प्रामुख्याने उपस्थित होते.
येत्या २६ जानेवारीपासून मनपाच्या मालकीच्या ५० बसेस सीएनजी गॅसवर धावणार आहेत. यामुळे शहरातील प्रदूषण कमी होईल. यासोबतच मनपाचा आर्थिक भार कमी होणार आहे. सद्यस्थितीत वाढत्या डिझेलचे दर बघता महापालिकेने हा निर्णय घेतला आहे. नागपूर महानगरपालिकेने शहर बसच्या संचालनासाठी २०१० मध्ये जेएनएनयुआर अंतर्गत तीन डिझेल बस ऑपरेटरांना प्रत्येकी ७९ बसेस दिलेल्या होत्या. महानगपालिकेचा कुठलाही आर्थिक खर्च वाढणार नसल्याची माहिती सभापती बंटी कुकडे यांनी दिली.
यानंतर बैठकीमध्ये भंगार बसेसच्या लिलावासंदर्भात चर्चा करण्यात आली. डिसेंबरच्या पहिल्या आठवड्यात लिलाव प्रक्रिया सुरू करण्यात येणार आहे. डिसेंबर अखेरपर्यंत ही प्रक्रिया पूर्ण करण्यात येणार असल्याची माहिती सभापती बंटी कुकडे यांनी दिली.
Nagpur : A four year boy, going to buy a chocolate, was killed after hit by a speeding carin Ahuja Nagar in Jaripatka Police Station area on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Yash Rahul Gavai (4), a resident of Amravati. A police officer informed that the accident occurred at 2.15 pm when Yash, along with cousin Sparsh Rupnarayan (8), was walking to the shop.
The car (MH-49/AH-8768) came in great speed and s truck to the boys who were crossing the road. Yash sustained grievous head injuries and fell unconscious on the road. Sparsh immediately ran towards home that was just 300 metres away from the spot and alerted parents.
They rushed profusely bleeding Yash to Alexis Hospital in the same car. After admitting the boy in the hospital,the car driver immediately sped away from the spot. Yash breathed his last within an hour in the hospital. Police said, Yash along with parents, had come to the house of his maternal uncle – Pranay Gopal Rupnarayan (37), at Plot No. 60, Amarjyoti Nagar, Bhim Chowk – for Diwali vacation.His father returned Amravati while Yash and his mother were staying together at the house. After receiving the tragic news, his mother collapsed and went in shock.
Yash was the only son of Gavai couple. Jaripatka police have registered the case under Sections 279 and 304 (a) of Indian Penal Code.
नागपूर : नागपूर महानगरपालिकेला वर्षाकाठी मिळणाऱ्या ६२४ कोटींच्या अनुदानात भरघोस वाढ शासनाने केली असून यापुढे आता वर्षाकाठी १०३८ कोटींचे अनुदान मिळणार आहे. मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांनी ता. १७ मुंबईत घेतलेल्या एका शासकीय बैठकीत या निर्णयावर शिक्कामोर्तब झाले. या निर्णयाबद्दल पदाधिकाऱ्यांनी मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस, केंद्रीय मंत्री नितीन गडकरी यांचे आभार मानत अभिनंदन केले आहे.
नागपूर महानगरपालिका क्षेत्रात एलबीटी लागू होण्यापूर्वी ऑक्ट्रॉयच्या माध्यमातून वर्षाकाठी सुमारे ७५० कोटी रुपये मनपाला उत्पन्न होत होते. एलबीटी लागू झाल्यानंतर त्याचा विरोध नागपुरातूनच सुरू झाला. या विरोधामुळेच एलबीटी भरणाऱ्या नागपुरातील व्यापाऱ्यांची संख्या कमी होती. एलबीटी संपुष्टात आल्यानंतर संपूर्ण देशात जीएसटी लागू करण्यात आला. एलबीटीच्या उत्पन्नाच्या सरासरीत जीएसटीचे अनुदान ठरले. मुळातच नागपुरातील एलबीटीच्या माध्यमातून होणाऱ्या उत्पन्न अल्प असल्याने इतर शहरांच्या तुलनेत नागपूरला जीएसटीचे अनुदान अपेक्षेपेक्षा कमी मिळत होते. महिन्याला ५२ कोटी अर्थातच वर्षाकाठी केवळ ६२४ कोटींचे अनुदान प्राप्त होत होते.
यासंदर्भात महापौर नंदा जिचकार, उपमहापौर दीपराज पार्डीकर, स्थायी समिती सभापती वीरेंद्र कुकरेजा, सत्तापक्ष नेते संदीप जोशी यांनी मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस आणि केंद्रीय मंत्री नितीन गडकरी यांच्याकडे अनुदान वाढीसाठी साकडे घातले. स्थायी समिती सभापती वीरेंद्र कुकरेजा यांनी सातत्याने शासनाकडे याचा पाठपुरावा केला आणि जीएसटी अनुदान वाढीची मागणी लावून धरली. मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस, अर्थमंत्री सुधीर मुनगंटीवार यांनी यासंदर्भात सकारात्मक संकेत दिले. केंद्रीय मंत्री नितीन गडकरी यांनीही अनुदान वाढीसाठी मदत केली. त्यांच्या शिफारसीमुळे अनुदान वाढीचा मार्ग मोकळा झाला. अखेर मनपा पदाधिकाऱ्यांच्या प्रयत्नांना यश आले. मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांनी यासंदर्भात शनिवारी (ता. १७) मुंबई आयोजित बैठकीत निर्णय घेतला. आता नागपूर महानगरपालिकेला महिन्याकाठी ८६.५० कोटींचे अनुदान प्राप्त होणार असल्याची माहिती स्थायी समिती सभापती वीरेंद्र कुकरेजा यांनी दिली.

Nagpur : Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a brief halt at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport, Nagpur, on Sunday afternoon en route Chhindwara and later while flying to Indore during his whirlwind tour of poll bound Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
This is probably for the first time, the Prime Minister visited the city, though technically, two times in one single day.
The Prime Minister arrived by a special aircraft of Indian Air Force (IAF) from Raipur at around 2.15 pm and was received by Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road, Transport, Highways, Shipping, Ganga Rejuvenation. Nagpur : The annual race “HCL 0 Mile Marathon, Nagpur” was organised with an objective to promote health and fitness and also the noble cause of ‘run to educate girl child’ here on Sunday.
The event received an overwhelming response from the participants as more than 2,000 citizens braved the morning cold weather to compete. Vaibhav Andhare, the first Nagpurian to complete comrades race in Durban, South Africa, for two years in succession, was the brand ambassador.

नागपुर :- इन दिनों वाट्सअप देह व्यवसाय का सबसे बड़ा जरिया बन गया है क्यों की इसमें पुलिस का खतरा काफी कम हो गया है। उपराजधानी में ऐसे ही चल रहे ऑनलाइन सेक्स रैकेट का क्राइम ब्रांच ने पर्दाफाश करते हुए एक दलाल को गिरफ्तार किया। जिसके बाद इस दलाल के चंगुल से दिल्ली से बुलाई गई एक युवती को मुक्त कराया गया। ख़ास बात यह है की दिल्ली से बुलाई गई इस युवती को शहर के आलीशान होटल में रखा गया था। शहर में स्कॉट देह व्यवसाय माया नामक स्कोका डॉटकॉम के माध्यम से चला रही थी। इस मामाले की आरोपी सूत्रधार पूजा उर्फ माया गोपाल राव (३२) एमपी हाउसिंग सोसायटी हाउसिंग बोर्ड, भिलाई( छत्तीसगढ़) निवासी है। यह महिला बजाज नगर, नागपुर स्थित नीलकमल सोसायटी की पहली मंजिल के फ्लैट सी- ४ में किराए से रहती थी। उसने दिल्ली के अलावा अन्य शहर की युवतियों को अपनी वेबसाइट से जोड़ रखा था। ग्राहकों की मांग के अनुसार वह युवतियों को देह व्यवसाय के लिए शहर व शहर के बाहर आतिश खडसे के साथ भेजा करती थी। नागपुर में वह काफी दिनों से ऑनलाइन escort का कार्य कर रही थी। उसने इस काम के लिए आतिश रामेत्रवर खडसे (३८) गोरेवाड़ा निवासी को अपने साथ रखा था। आतिश युवती को वाहन में ले जाकर ग्राहकों तक पहुंचाता था। पहले वह युवतियों की फोटो ग्राहकों के वाट्सअप पर भेजता था जिसके बाद पसंद आने पर वह संबंधित युवती को ग्राहक के पास ले जाता था। जानकारी है की नागपुर के कई शौकीन ग्राहक माया से जुड़े हुए हैं। अब ग्राहकों को युवती की भेजी गई फोटो पसंद आने पर उसे ग्राहक के पास भेजने का रिस्क लिया जाता है। इसके लिए शहर के कई होटलों में इस कार्य के लिए कमरे बुक रहते हैं।
पुलिस सूत्रों के अनुसार पुलिस को शहर में चल रही स्कोका डाटकाम वेबसाइट से देह व्यवसाय किए जाने की गुप्त सूचना मिली।.पुलिस ने यह भी पता कर लिया कि नागपुर में चल रहे ऑनलाइन स्कॉट को माया चला रही है। पुलिस ने पंटर तैयार कर ऑनलाइन संपर्क से एक युवती की मांग की। तब आतिश खडसे का नंबर पंटर को दिया गया। पंटर ने खडसे से युवती के बारे में बातचीत की। खडसे ने उसे बताया कि वह उसकी तस्वीर वाटसअप पर भेज रहा है। माया ने पंटर के मोबाइल वाटसअप पर तस्वीर भेज दी। पंटर ने तस्वीर में दिखाई गई लड़की को पसंद किया.तब खडसे ने युवती को पूनम चेंबर के पास लेकर आने को कहा। पंटर के पास जब पूनम चेंबर सदर के पास एक लडकी को लेकर आया गया तब अपराध शाखा पुलिस विभाग का सामाजिक सुरक्षा दस्ता पहले से ही वहां जाल बिछाकर बैठा था। पुलिस ने छापा मारकर आरोपी आतिश खडसे को धर दबोचा और उसके चंगुल से यवुती को छुुड़ाया। पूछताछ के दौरान आतिश ने पुलिस को बताया कि युवती दिल्ली की रहनेवाली है. उसे शहर में एक होटल में रखकर उससे देह व्यापार कराया जा रहा था। यह युवती एक-दो माह के करार पर नागपुर बुलाई जाती है जिसके बदले वह लाखों रुपए लेती है।
५ से १० हजार रुपए तक लेती हैं युवतियां
सूत्रों के अनुसार ग्राहक देखकर युवतियों के बारे में रेट तय किए जाते थे। दिल्ली से बुलाई गई यह युवती ५ से १० हजार रुपए प्रत्येक ग्राहक से लेती थी। इस युवती को पूनम चेंबर के सामने भारत पेट्रोल पंप के पास आरोपी आतिश खडसे के साथ आते ही सामाजिक सुरक्षा दस्ते ने धर दबोचा। अपराध शाखा के पुलिस उपायुक्सत संभाजी कदम के मार्गदर्शन में सामाजिक सुरक्षा दस्ते के पुलिस उपनिरीक्षक विक्रम गॉड, मीना जगताप, उपनिरीक्षक स्मिता सोनवने, एएसआई दामोदार राजुरकर, सुभाष खेडकर, हवलदार विजय गायकवाड, शीतला प्रसाद मिश्रा, मुकुंदा गारमोडे आदि ने कार्रवाई की।
NEW DELHI: Alyque Padamsee, noted ad guru and theatre personality, died in Mumbai today. He was 90.
Mr Padamsee was best known for his role as Muhammad Ali Jinnah in 1982 historcial drama “Gandhi”. As the head of Lintas India, he was credited for building it into one of the top advertising agencies in the country.
Widely called the “Brand Father of Indian advertising”, Mr Padamsee was the brain behind several iconic Indian ad campaigns including Lalitaji for Surf, the Liril girl, Cherry Charlie for Cherry Blossom Shoe Polish, Hamara Bajaj, the MRF muscle man among many other memorable ads.
For his contributions to the creative field, he was honored with Padmashri in 2000 and was named “Advertising Man of the Century” by The Advertising Club in Mumbai. He also received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Tagore Ratna in 2012.
नागपूर : कौटुंबिक आणि प्रेयसीचा खर्च यांची तोंडमिळवणी करण्यासाठी नागपुरातील एका शरीरसौष्ठवपटूने चक्क दरोडा टाकला. पोलिसांनी घरफोडीप्रकरणी दोघांना अटक केल्यानंतर हा प्रकार उजेडात आला. शरीरसौष्ठवपटू असलेल्या अफसर खान अख्तर खान (३१) याच्या भावाची महाल परिसरात व्यायामशाळा आहे. तो तेथे प्रशिक्षक होता. अफसर मुंबईमध्ये जानेवारीत होणाऱ्या मॉडेल फिजिक्स स्पर्धेत सहभागी होण्यासाठी तयारी करीत होता. त्याचे एका तरुणीशी विवाहबाह्य़ प्रेमसंबंध होते. जिममध्ये काम करून पत्नीसह आपले कुटुंब आणि प्रेयसी यांचा खर्च चालवणे त्याच्या आवाक्याच्या बाहेर गेले होते. त्यावर त्याने दरोडा टाकण्याची शक्कल लढविली.
केंद्रीय सार्वजनिक बांधकाम विभागातून सेवानिवृत्त झालेले कालिचरण गुलजारीलाल टाकभवरे (६४) हे कुटुंबासह कुलू-मनालीला सहलीला गेले होते. ही संधी साधून अफसर खान आणि इरफान खान यांनी १२ नोव्हेंबरच्या मध्यरात्री टाकभवरे यांच्या घरावर दरोडा टाकला. त्यांनी कपाटातील १५ तोळे सोन्याचे दागिने, एलसीडी टीव्ही आणि ६० हजार रुपये चोरले. पोलिसांनी आरोपींना अटक करून त्यांच्याकडून सुमारे सहा लाखांचा मुद्देमाल जप्त केला.
After much delay, the Maharastra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has mustered the confidence to start with its ambitious Samruddhi Mahamarg (Mumbai-Nagpur expressway) by next month.
The officials revealed that 90 per cent of the land acquisition had been completed which was mandatory for contractors to start work. The remaining 10 per cent of land would be acquired by January next year.
“Contractors have been appointed for all 17 packages so by December first week, we plan to start the work on the Samruddhi corridor,” said a senior official from MSRDC.
“Negotiations for the remaining 10 per cent are in process. If people do not agree through direct purchase, acquisition will be done under the Land Ac-quisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement) Act,” he said.
Recently, the Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra (FDCM) was appointed to identify trees that will be affected during construction. “The FDCM has counted the number of affected trees and also started cutting down trees,” the official said. According to reports, nearly one lakh trees will be cut for the project.
The 701-km-long corridor is expected to be completed within 36 months after starting work.
Nagpur: The state government is all set to increase goods and services tax (GST) grant of municipal corporations. The cash-strapped Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s (NMC) GST grant is likely to be increased from Rs 52.57 crore per month (Rs 630.84 crore/annum) to over Rs9 0 crore per month (Rs 1,080 crore per annum).
Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao issued a gazette notification on November 6 through which the norms to calculate GST grant of municipal corporations has been changed.
Since implementation of GST in July 2017, the grant was calculated taking into consideration the revenue of the municipal corporations during local body tax (LBT). The financial crisis of the civic bodies reportedly deteriorated as GST grant was being calculated less than demand and lower than the revenue during octroi .
NMC official told the civic body should be given GST grant of Rs 98 crore per month. “Grant of Rs 88.63 crore per month (Rs 1,063.56 crore per annum) was calculated in the last fiscal. After adding a rise of 17%, our GST grant applicability will increase to Rs 98 crore per month (Rs 1,176 crore per annum),” he said.

A three-member team of Wildlife Institute of India (WII), from Dehradun, has arrived to Pandharkawda on Friday to participate in the search operation for two cubs of T1 tigress. Dr Bilal Habib, Senior Scientist, Department of Animal Ecology & Conservation Biology, WII, is leading the team. The team members will visit the base camp on Saturday morning and then go to the field for operation to search the cubs.
Dr Habib has the data about the tigers moving in Pandharkawda Forest Division, informed reliable sources. This is additional team to the one being led by Veterinary Doctor Pathe from Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Borivali, that arrived at the base camp on Thursday for helping in the combing operation. There are already ten teams with six veterinarians, tranquilizing experts and field staff members engaged in capturing the 11-month-old tiger cubs.
One of the searching teams noticed fresh pug-marks of the cubs near Aajni village on Friday. The cubs were directly sighted by the teams on the night of Wednesday and in the wee hours of Thursday at Vihirgaon and Aajni areas. The cubs were found in sound health condition, which means they themselves hunted small preys to satisfy their hunger after the death of their mother T1 tigress on night of November 2.
