भारतासह जगभरात कोरोनाचा हाहाकार सुरु आहे. कोरोनाला रोखण्यासाठी आरोग्य यंत्रणा युद्ध पातळीवर काम करत आहे. तरीही कोरोनाचा प्रादुर्भाव काही कमी होताना दिसत नाही. अशा परिस्थितीत एक दिलासा देणारी माहिती समोर आली आहे.’नेझल स्प्रे’द्वारे कोरोना विषाणूचा प्रभाव ९९ टक्के कमी होत असल्याचे आढळून आले आहे. यामुळे कोरोना विषाणूचे संक्रमण रोखू शकतो. तसेच संसर्ग झालेल्यांचा आजाराचा कालावधी कमी करुन लक्षणांची तीव्रता कमी होत असल्याचे नव्या संशोधनातून स्पष्ट झाले आहे.
याबाबत कॅनडाची कंपनी सॅनोटाइज रिसर्च अॅण्ड डेव्हलपमेंट कॉर्पोरेशन आणि ब्रिटनमधील अॅशफोर्ड अॅण्ड पीटर्स हॉस्पिटल्सने क्लिनिकल चाचणी केली आहे. या चाचणीचे निष्कर्ष नुकतेच जाहीर करण्यात आले.
Covid19 ब्रिटनमध्ये केलेल्या क्लिनिकल चाचणीत ‘सॅनोटाइज’ या नेझल स्प्रेद्वारे कोरोनाचा प्रभाव कमी होत असल्याचे आढळून आले आहे. ‘नेझल स्प्रे’द्वारे २४ तासांत कोरोना विषाणूचा प्रभाव ९५ टक्के आणि ७२ तासांत ९९ टक्के कमी होतो.
‘नेझल स्प्रे’मुळे कोरोनाचा प्रादुर्भाव रोखता येऊ शकतो, असे या चाचणीतून निष्पन्न झाले आहे. अगदी कमी वेळेत कोरोनाचा प्रभाव कमी करण्यास आणि संसर्ग झालेल्या रुग्णांमधील लक्षणांची तीव्रता कमी करण्यास यामुळे मदत होऊ शकते. ‘सॅनोटाइज’ श्वसनमार्गाच्या वरच्या भागातील विषाणूला मारुन टाकतो. तसेच फुफ्फुसात संसर्ग पसरु देत नाही. ‘नेझल स्प्रे’ उपचार पद्धत सुरक्षित असून ती प्रभावी आहे. यामुळे कोरोनाचा संसर्ग अगदी कमी कालावधीत रोखता येतो, , असाही दावा करण्यात आला आहे.
चर्चेत असलेला अभिनेता अभिषेक बच्चनचा चित्रपट ‘द बिग बूल’ ओटीटी प्लॅटफॉर्मवर ८ एप्रिलला रिलीज झाला आहे. शेअर मार्केटमधील १९९२ मध्ये झालेल्या सर्वात मोठा घोटाळ्याची कथा या चित्रपटात दाखवण्यात आली आहे. हर्षद मेहताची भूमिका अभिषेकने द बिग बूल चित्रपटात साकारली आहे. हा चित्रपट रिलीज झाल्यानंतर काही नेटकऱ्यांनी अभिषेकला ट्रोल केले आहे. एका युजर्सने अभिषेकच्या अभिनयावर टीका केली. यावर अभिषेकने त्या ट्रोलरला सडेतोड उत्तर दिलं आहे.
याआधी ‘स्कॅम १९९२’ ही वेबसीरीज रिलीज झाली होती. यामध्ये अभिनेता प्रतिक गांधीने मुख्य भूमिका साकारली होती. त्यामुऴे नेटकरी प्रतिक आणि अभिषेकचा फोटो एकत्रपणे शेअर करुन त्यावर प्रतिक्रिया देत आहेत.
एका ट्रोलरने अभिषेकच्या अभिनयाला खराब प्रतिक्रिया दिली आहे. त्यामध्ये म्हटलंय की-‘नेहमीप्रमाणे अभिषेक बच्चनने आपल्या कथित थर्ड रेट ॲक्टिंग…या चित्रपटाने निराश केले आहे. प्रतीक गांधीची स्कॅम १९९२ यापेक्षा खू दर्जेदार होती.’ अशी प्रतिक्रिया दिली आहे.
त्याला अभिषेकने उत्तर दिलंय की, ट्रोलरच्या या ट्विटवर अभिषेकने शांतपणे परंतु रोखठोक उत्तर दिले आहे. त्याने त्याच्या ट्विटला उत्तर देत लिहिलंय की, ‘हाय मॅन, जसं की, मी तुम्हाला निराश नाही केले त्याकरता मी खूप खूश आहे. आमचा चित्रपट पाहण्याकरता तुम्ही आवर्जून वेळ काढलात त्याकरता मी तुमचा आभारी आहे’.
नवी दिल्ली: देशातील कोरोना रुग्णांचा आकडा झपाट्यानं वाढत आहे. गेल्या महिनाभरापासून कोरोना रुग्णांची संख्या मोठ्या प्रमाणात वाढली आहे. गेल्या 24 तासांत देशभरात कोरोनाचे तब्बल 1,61,736 नवे रुग्ण आढळून आले आहेत. तर 879 लोकांना आपला जीव गमवावा लागला आहे. त्यामुळे आता भारतातील कोरोनाग्रस्तांचा आकडा वाढला असून रुग्णांची एकूण संख्या 1,36,89,453 वर पोहोचली आहे. कोरोना रुग्णांवर उपचार करण्यासाठी रेमडेसिविरचा वापर केला जात आहे. त्यामुळे रेमडेसिविरचा तुटवडा जाणवू लागला आहे. अशातच जागतिक आरोग्य संघटनेच्या (डब्ल्यूएचओ) स्पष्टीकरणामुळे चिंतेत भर पडली आहे.
कोरोना रुग्णांच्या उपचारात रेमडेसिविर प्रभावी ठरत असल्याचा कोणताही पुरावा उपलब्ध नसल्याचं डब्ल्यूएचओनं म्हटलं आहे. देशात रेमडेसिविरची मागणी वाढत असताना, त्यासाठी काळाबाजार होत असताना डब्ल्यूएचओकडून आलेलं स्पष्टीकरण महत्त्वपूर्ण मानलं जात आहे. कोरोना रुग्णांच्या उपचारात होत असलेल्या रेमडेसिविर इंजेक्शनच्या वापरावर डब्ल्यूएचओनं प्रश्नचिन्ह उपस्थित केलं आहे. कोरोनाच्या उपचारांत रेमडेसिविर उपयोगी ठरत असल्याचा कोणताही पुरावा उपलब्ध नसल्याचं डब्ल्यूएचओनं सांगितलं आहे.
डब्ल्यूएचओच्या मुख्य शास्त्रज्ञ डॉ. सौम्या स्वामीनाथन आणि कोविड तांत्रिक टीमच्या प्रमुख डॉय मारिया वेन केरखोव यांनी रेमडेसिविर इंजेक्शनच्या वापरावर प्रश्न उपस्थित केले. ‘रेमडेसिविर इंजेक्शनच्या पाच चाचण्या झाल्या आहेत. मात्र त्यातून ना कोरोना रुग्ण बरे झाल्याचं निष्पन्न झालंय ना मृतांचा आकडा कमी झाल्यानं दिसून आलंय. सध्या आम्ही एका मोठ्या चाचणीची वाट पाहात आहोत. त्या चाचणीच्या अहवालातून रेमडेसिविरच्या परिणामकारकतेवर स्पष्टपणे भाष्य करता येईल,’ असं स्वामीनाथन आणि केरखोव यांनी सांगितलं.
नागपूर: कोरोना झालेल्या रुग्णाला आता ‘एचआरसीटी’ ची चाचणी करणे जवळपास आवश्यक केले आहे. मेडिकलमध्ये ही चाचणी मोफत केली जात असली तरी खासगी सीटी स्कॅन केंद्रांवर यासाठी अडीच हजार रुपये आकारण्यात येत आहेत. सामान्यांना ही रक्कम परवडणारी नसल्याने कोरोना चाचणीच्या धर्तीवरच ‘एचआरसीटी’ चाचणीचे दर निश्चित करण्यात यावेत,अशी मागणी आता जोर धर लागली आहे.
खासगी प्रयोगशाळेत ‘आरटीपीसीआर’साठी अवघे ५०० ते ८०० तर रॅपीड अँटीजेन चाचणी अवघ्या १५० रुपयात केली जाते. मात्र सीटी स्कॅन केंद्रावर एचआरसीटीच्या निदानासाठी अडीच हजार रुपये मोजावे लागतात. विशेष असे की, शहरात सीटी स्कॅन केंद्रावर प्रचंड गर्दी असते. रात्री उशिरापर्यंत वेटिंगवर रुग्ण असतात.
गरीब रुग्णांसाठी मेडिकल, मेयोसह सर्व शासकीय रुग्णालयात ज्येष्ठ नागरिक असो की, बीपीएल तसेच कोरोनाच्या प्रत्येकाची सीटी स्कॅनवरील एचआरसीटी निदान मोफत केले जाते. मात्र, गरिबांना खासगीत एका एचआरसीटीसाठी अडीच हजार मोजावे लागतात. चाचणी केल्यानंतर एचआरसीटी करणे जरुरीचे आहे, असे सांगण्यात येत असल्याने सीटी स्कॅन केंद्रावर रुग्णांची मोठी गर्दी बघायला मिळते. पहिल्या लाटेत ही सीटी स्कॅन केंद्रावर अशी गर्दी दिसत नव्हती, हे विशेष.
नागपूर : जिल्ह्य़ात २४ तासांत ६९ करोनाग्रस्तांचा मृत्यू झाला तर ५ हजार ८३८ नवीन रुग्णांची भर पडली. दैनिक करोनामुक्तांहून नवीन बाधितांची संख्या सातत्याने जास्त आढळत असल्याने जिल्ह्य़ातील आजपर्यंतच्या करोनाग्रस्तांच्या तुलनेत करोनामुक्तांचे प्रमाण घसरून ७७.६० टक्यांवर आले आहे.
दिवसभरात शहरात २ हजार ७८८, ग्रामीण ४५९ असे एकूण ३ हजार २४७ व्यक्ती करोनामुक्त झाले. त्यामुळे शहरातील आजपर्यंतच्या बाधितांची संख्या १ लाख ७५ हजार १५७, ग्रामीण ४५ हजार ४०३ अशी एकूण २ लाख २० हजार ५६० व्यक्तींवर पोहोचली आहे. गेल्या अनेक महिन्यानंतर प्रथमच येथील करोनामुक्तांचे प्रमाण जिल्ह्य़ात ७७.६० टक्के कमी नोंदवले गेले. याशिवाय शहरात २४ तासांत ३ हजार ९१२, ग्रामीण १ हजार ७४४, जिल्ह्य़ाबाहेरील ५ असे एकूण ५ हजार ६६१ नवीन रुग्ण आढळले. त्यामुळे शहरातील आजपर्यंतच्या करोनाग्रस्तांची संख्या २ लाख १५ हजार ६२८, ग्रामीण ६७ हजार ४८९, जिल्ह्य़ाबाहेरील १ हजार १०० अशी एकूण २ लाख ८४ हजार २१७ रुग्णांवर पोहोचली आहे.
दिवसभरात शहरात ३७, ग्रामीण २७, जिल्ह्य़ाबाहेरील ५ असे एकूण ६९ रुग्णांचा मृत्यू झाला. त्यामुळे शहरातील आजपर्यंतच्या मृत्यूची संख्या ३ हजार ६४१, ग्रामीण १ हजार २७९, जिल्ह्य़ाबाहेरील ९१८ अशी एकूण ५ हजार ८३८ रुग्णांवर पोहोचली आहे.
दिवसभरात रुग्णालयांत ८५४ रुग्ण वाढले शहरात ३६ हजार ३३६, ग्रामीण २१ हजार २८३ असे एकूण जिल्ह्य़ात ५७ हजार ८१९ उपचाराधीन रुग्ण आहेत. त्यातील ५० हजार ५४० रुग्णांवर गृहविलगीकरणात तर गंभीर संवर्गातील ७ हजार २७९ रुग्णांवर विविध कोविड रुग्णालय किंवा कोविड केअर सेंटरमध्ये उपचार सुरू आहेत. गेल्या २४ तासांत जिल्ह्य़ात ८५४ रुग्ण रुग्णालयांत वाढले, हे विशेष.
दिवसभरात १७,०४७ चाचण्या शहरात दिवसभरात ११ हजार ४९४, ग्रामीण ५ हजार ५५३ असे एकूण १७ हजार ४७ चाचण्या झाल्या. गेल्या काही दिवसांच्या तुलनेत ही संख्या कमी आहे. काही तांत्रिक कारणांमुळे १२ आणि १४ एप्रिलला आरटीपीसीआर चाचण्या कमी राहणार असल्याचे महापालिकेकडून आधीच स्पष्ट करण्यात आले होते.
खाटांची माहिती संकेतस्थळावर शहरातील खाजगी व शासकीय रुग्णालये मिळून बाधितांसाठी किती खाटा (बेडस) उपलब्ध आहे याची माहिती एका क्लिवर उपलब्ध होणार आहे. महापालिका www.nmcnagpur.gov.in व नागपूर स्मार्ट सिटीच्या संकेत स्थळ http://nsscdcl.org/covidbeds वर क्लिक करुन माहिती घेता येईल. तसेच हेल्पलाईन ०७१२-२५६७०२१ आणि २५५१८६६ यावर संपर्क साधल्यास उपलब्ध आई.सी.यू. ऑक्सीजन, व्हेंटिलेटर, खाटांची माहिती प्राप्त होईल. सोमवारी रात्री ८ वाजेपर्यंत शहरात ऑक्सिजन खाटा ९३ आणि नॉन ऑक्सिजन खाटा ४० उपलब्ध होत्या.
एम्समध्ये फक्त ७५० रुपयात सिटीस्कॅन करोना रुग्णांसाठी एम्स रुग्णालयात (अखिल भारतीय आयुर्विज्ञान सस्था) सिटीस्कॅनची सुविधा सुरू करण्यात आली आहे. त्यासाठी फक्त ७५० रुपये शुल्क आकारले जात आहेत. बाजारात यासाठी २५०० रुपये दर आहे, हे विशेष. एम्सच्या संचालिका डॉ. विभा दत्ता यांनी आज ही माहिती दिली. करोना रुग्णांसाठी सिटीस्कॅन आवश्यक आहे. गरीब व गरजू रुग्णांना बाजारातील दर परवडत नाही, त्यामुळे अनेक रुग्ण सीटीस्कॅ न न करताच उपचार घेतात. त्यामुळे ही सुविधा सवलतीच्या दरात उपलब्ध व्हावी यासाठी एम्स हॉस्पिटल येथे केवळ ७५० रुपयात सीटीस्कॅ न सुविधा उपलब्ध करण्यात आली आहे. सकाळी नऊ वाजेपासून सायंकाळी पाच वाजेपर्यंत सुरू राहणार आहे करोना रुग्णांनी या सुविधेचा लाभ घ्यावा, असे आवाहन एम्स व प्रशासनाकडून करण्यात आले आहे.
दोन दिवसांच्या वीकेंड लॉकडाऊननंतर जिल्ह्यातील प्रमुख शहरांतील बाजारपेठांत नागरिकांनी सोमवारी प्रचंड गर्दी केली होती. गर्दी कमी करण्याचे पोलिस आणि प्रशासनाकडून आवाहन करण्यात येत होते. परंतु; तरीही गर्दी हटत नसल्याने मिरजेत पोलिसांनी गर्दी पांगविण्यासाठी सौम्य लाठीमार केला. दोन दिवसांत कडक लॉकडाऊन लागणार, या भीतीपोटी नागरिकांनी खरेदीसाठी मोठ्या प्रमाणात गर्दी केली होती.
कोरोना रुग्णांची संख्या आटोक्यात आणण्यासाठी आणि कोरोनाची चेन ब्रेक करण्यासाठी वीकेंड लॉकडाऊन करण्यात आला होता. परंतु; सोमवारी जिल्ह्यातील मिरज, कवठेमहांकाळ, जत, तासगाव, खानापूर, आटपाडी, वाळवा, शिराळा, पलूस, कडेगाव या तालुक्यांत गुढी पाडव्याच्या खरेदीसाठी नागरिकांची झुंबड उडाली होती. सांगली शहरात देखील खरेदीसाठी नागरिकांची प्रचंड गर्दी झाली होती.
पुन्हा कडक लॉकडाऊन होण्याच्या भितीपोटी आणि मंगळवारी गुढीपाडवा असल्याने साहित्य खरेदीसाठी सर्वत्र दुकानात व बाजार पेठांत गर्दी झाली होती. त्यामुळे सोशल डिस्टन्सिंगचा अक्षरश: फज्जा उडाला होता.
मिरजेतही खरेदीसाठी नागरिक मोठ्या संख्येने घराबाहेर पडले होते. दुकानासमोर गर्दी करूनये, विनाकारण घरातून बाहेर पडू नये असे आवाहन करण्यात आले होते. परंतु मिरज शहरात रस्त्यावर वाहनांची मोठी गर्दी झाली होती.
प्रशासन व पोलिसांच्या आवाहनाकडे दुर्लक्ष करून गर्दी झाल्याने मिरज शहर पोलिस निरीक्षक राजू ताशिलदार पोलिस पथकासह कारवाई करण्यासाठी रस्त्यावर उतरले. त्यावेळी पोलिसांनी जमावावर सौम्य लाठीमार करून गर्दी पांगवली. दरम्यान जिल्ह्यात देखील बाजार पेठांत तुफान गर्दी झाली होती.
प्रशासनाचे आदेश धाब्यावर
अत्यावश्क सेवा वगळता इतर सर्व व्यवहार बंद राहतील असे आदेश पालकमंत्री जयंत पाटील यांनी दिले होते. परंतु तरीही जिल्ह्यात काही ठिकाणी इतर दुकानेही उघडण्यात आली होती. त्या ठिकाणी खरेदीसाठी गर्दी झाली होती. काही ठिकाणी दुकाने बंद असल्याचे भासवून साहित्याची विक्री करण्यात येत होती.

The fourth match of IPL 2021 produced some sensational hitting, as well as sloppy fielding that saw six catches being dropped. Chasing 222, Sanju Samson’s breath-taking 63-ball 119 – punctuated by 12 boundaries and 7 sixes – was not enough as Rajasthan Royals went down to Punjab Kings by four runs in a high-octane encounter.

On nine out of 10 occasions, Sanju Samson would have backed himself to deposit Arshdeep Singh over the long-off boundary. Perhaps, fatigue got the better of him on Monday. Samson was batting on 119 off 62 deliveries when he ended up slicing it to Deepak Hooda — the man who had set it up for Punjab Kings in the first innings. The result was a 4-run loss for Rajasthan Royals, capping a tense, manic match that saw superlative stroke-play from both sides.
However, spare a thought for Sanju Samson, who marked his IPL captaincy debut with a wonderful century, but couldn’t take his team past the finish line. Samson had begun IPL 2020 with a bang, shellacking two power-packed performances — a 32-ball 74 against Chennai Super Kings and a 42-ball 85 versus Kings XI Punjab — before it all went downhill for him as Rajasthan Royals finished at the bottom of the points table. Another promising season was nipped in the bud.
But in 2021, being elevated as Royals captain didn’t seem to fluster Samson. If anything, it has only unshackled him to continue with his brand of free-flowing, aggressive cricket.
A 222-run chase against Punjab Kings was always going to be arduous. More so, after Royals lost Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler inside the first eight overs. But Samson never panicked, rode his luck – enjoying two dropped catches – to launch an innings of skill, flair, and sustained out-of-the-world hitting. The 26-year-old brought up his ton in just 54 deliveries, carving out a four, six, and a four off consecutive deliveries from Australian pacer Jhye Richardson.
When in full flight, Samson is a sight to behold. Unlike most modern batsmen, he doesn’t sashay down the track, but stays still in his crease, and uses his sinewy forearms to unfurl that lovely free-flowing swing of the bat to smash spinners and pacers with ease. If the Punjab Kings bowlers pitches it up, he cleared his front leg and deposited it over long-off.
From 95/3 after 10 overs, Royals raced to 154/4 in 15 overs, and 209/6 after the 19th over. In this period, Samson took his personal tally from 41 off 30 to 112 off 58. “I don’t have words to explain my feelings. Would have loved to finish it off for my team. I don’t think I could have done better than that. I thought I timed it well for a six (last ball of the match) but somehow… Catches go down and good catches were also taken. It’s part of the game,” Samson said after the loss.
Hooda hurricane
Deepak Hooda was greeted by loud, manic cheers and thunderous applause from his Punjab Kings teammates, following his 28-ball 64. The staggering assault provided ample proof of the 26-year-old’s prodigious talent as a stroke player. But those who have watched him in domestic cricket will not be surprised.
For all the splendor and visceral thrill this knock provided, it’s scarcely believable to note that three months ago, Hooda’s cricketing career was at the crossroads. Ahead of this year’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he stormed out of the bio-bubble following a spat with Baroda captain Krunal Pandya, which eventually resulted in the state association suspending him for indiscipline. In his letter to the association, Hooda had alleged that Krunal had used abusive language that left him ‘demoralized and depressed’.
That he has managed to orchestrate such a turnaround in such a short span of time is a testament to Hooda’s temperament and mental fortitude. At the Wankhede Stadium, the youngster was promoted to No.4, ahead of the mercurial Nicholas Pooran, which gave him time to get his eye in. In the company of captain KL Rahul (91 off 50 balls), Hooda blossomed. There was a series of eye-catching shots, like the manner in which he biffed Chris Morris over the mid-wicket fence for a maximum, or the ease with which he simply extended his arms to smoke leg-spinner Shreyas Gopal for a straight six. Hooda’s essay was a game-changer.
Walking out to bat at the halfway stage with Punjab’s score reading 89/2, his attacking instincts not only eased the pressure off Rahul but also gave a fillip to the run rate. Resultantly, their 105-run alliance in 7.4 overs propelled Punjab to 221/6. In many ways, Hooda fulfilled the role that the team management had expected Glenn Maxwell to perform last year, only for the Aussie to fail miserably.
Hooda has been an IPL regular since 2015. However, in 69 games he has batted down the order, which hardly gave him opportunities to stamp his presence. He had conjured another blinder — an unbeaten 30-ball 62 — for Punjab against Chennai Super Kings last season. They eventually lost that match, but Hooda signed off with his reputation enhanced.
The police have busted a mattress-making factory in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon district for using discarded masks, in place of cotton or other material, to stuff its products. The police have filed a case against the owner of the unit and launched a probe. They also recovered piles of masks on the premises.
Officials at the police station at the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), Jalgaon, around 400 kilometres northeast of capital Mumbai, were informed of the alleged racket being carried out at the Maharashtra Mattress Centre.
“When the officials visited the premises of the factory in Kusumba village of MIDC, they found a mattress being stuffed with used masks,” said Additional Superintendent of Police Chandrakant Gawali.
“A case was registered against the factory owner, Amjad Ahmed Mansoori. The police are now probing the involvement of others in the racket,” said Mr Gawali.
The police then set on fire the piles of used masks lying around the premises according to the prescribed norms.
Mask production in India has by now surged from the 1.5 crore units a day capacity in March 2020. The pandemic has burdened India’s already stressed waste management system. It generated over 18,000 tonnes of Covid-19 related bio-medical waste between June and September 2020 alone, including gloves and face masks, according to Central Pollution Control Board data.
India is experiencing a ferocious second wave of the pandemic, with some 1.68 lakh new cases of infection reported yesterday in the highest day surge. Maharashtra alone reported 63,294 of these, with 349 deaths.
Today was the sixth consecutive day India reported over a lakh daily cases. The country currently leads the world in the daily average number of new infections reported in more than two weeks, accounting for one in every six infections reported globally each day.
सातारा : सातारा जिल्ह्यातील बावधनची बगाड यात्रा अंगलट आल्याचं चित्र निर्माण झालं आहे. यात्रा झाल्यापासून गावातील 61 जण कोरोना पॉझिटिव्ह आढळले आहेत. वाई तालुक्यातील बावधनची बगाड यात्रा ही महाराष्ट्रात सर्वात मोठी बगाड यात्रा समजली जाते. यात्रेदरम्यान झालेल्या गर्दीप्रकरणी पोलिसांनी 83 जणांवर अटकेची कारवाई देखील केली होती.

यात्रा झाल्यानंतर आता गावातील 61 जणांचे कोरोना अहवाल पॉझिटिव्ह आल्याचं समोर आलं आहे. शिवाय वाई तालुक्यातही कोरोनाबाधितांचा आकडा वाढला आहे.
83 जणांना अटक आणि जामीन
बावधन बगाड यात्रा भरवल्या प्रकरणी वाई पोलीस ठाण्यात अडीच हजार बावधनकरांवर गुन्हे दाखल करण्यात आले होती. यातील 83 जणांना पोलिसांनी अटक केली. या सर्वांना वाई न्यायालयात हजर करण्यात आले असता त्यांना पाच हजार रुपयांच्या अनामत रकमेवर जामीन दिला.

Maharashtra Lockdown continues to report the highest number of covid cases. A total of 9,989 new positive cases and 58 deaths were reported in Mumbai on Sunday.
Amid rising cases, the Maharashtra government is considering lockdown imposition in the state to curb the spread of the disease. There is no alternative to lockdown to stem the new wave of the corona, without which the number of cases is difficult to control, a clear role was taken by the expert doctors of the task force in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday.
Some of the stakeholders in the meeting were of the view that the lockdown must be for two weeks, some were in favor of three weeks but at least 8 days lockdown to be imposed and lockdown is a must.
After the meeting with the experts in the task force, the administration has already started to work on preparing SOPs and guidelines. SOPs and guidelines for the lockdown will be discussed in today’s meeting,” Aslam Sheikh said.
Members of the task force have recommended a 14-day to three-week lockdown to break the chain of transmission. Health Minister Rajesh Tope said the decision on the lockdown would be taken at a cabinet meeting after April 14.
Lockdown In the meeting held with the state task force, the Chief Minister discussed in detail various issues including availability of beds, use of Remdesivir and imposition of restrictions, availability of oxygen, treatment methods, enhancement of facilities.

IPL 2021 Delhi Capitals (DC) suffered a big blow before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season when their skipper Shreyas Iyer injured himself fielding in the ODI series against England at home. Iyer subluxated (partially dislocated) his shoulder and underwent surgery as he was ruled out of IPL’s 14th season. In his absence, Rishabh Pant has been selected to lead the side. Ahead of Pant’s captaincy debut against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Iyer has an emotional message for his teammates.
“Dear Delhi, Shreyas Iyer I speak to you today as a fellow fan of the team we love. We fight the same fight we always did. We know it won’t be easy but we know we have got what it takes to raise the cup. We have worked hard, harder than before. We have put in the yards harder than before and the best part is we go beyond just a team,” Iyer said in a video posted on Twitter on the game day.

Major teaser Mahesh Babu’s production venture Major has been the talk of the town for a while now. On Sunday, Adivi Sesh treated his fans to the exciting news. He served in Hyderabad. He went to the National Defence Academy. He was a training officer in the National Security Guard. I was interested in how beautifully he lived his life. That’s what I wanted to make a movie about,” the actor had earlier told indianexpress.com.
The biopic, which was simultaneously shot in Telugu and Hindi, also stars Saiee Manjrekar. The film, helmed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, will hit the theatres on July 2.

Actor Sonu Sood has spoken in support of students who are appearing in the board exams this year in person despite the rising COVID-19 cases.
Sood shared a video on his social media handles. He captioned the video, “I request everyone to support students who are forced to appear for offline board exams in these tough times. With the number of cases rising to 145k a day I feel there should be an internal assessment method to promote them rather than risking so many lives. #cancelboardexam2021.”
In the video, Sood says, “On the behalf of students, I want to to put in a request. CBSE and board exams are going to be held offline, I do not think the students are ready to sit for the exams amid the prevailing circumstances.”
He went on to give examples of other countries like Saudi Arabia and Mexico that canceled exams in educational institutions despite far fewer cases of the coronavirus.
“Still, we are thinking of holding exams, which is unfair. I do not think this is the right time for offline exams. I would like everyone to come forward and support these students, so they can be safe. All the best.”
Ever since the pandemic hit, Sonu Sood has been one celebrity who has been proactive. Harshal Patel on Friday became the first-ever bowler to take a five-wicket haul against Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The 30-year-old bowler picked three wickets in the final over of the Mumbai Indians’ innings to restrict the side to 159/9 in the allotted 20 overs.
Harshal dismissed Krunal Pandya, Marco Jansen, and Kieron Pollard in the final over after sending Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya back to the pavilion in the 18th and 16th over respectively.
After being asked to bat first, Mumbai Indians got off to a good start with Rohit Sharma and Chris Lynn scoring regular boundaries. However, the duo only managed to form a 24-run partnership as Rohit (19) got run out in the fourth over.
Suryakumar Yadav then came out to bat and played brilliantly along with Lynn. Both played with an aggressive mindset and took the team’s score to 86/1 after the completion of 10 overs.
In the 11th over, Kyle Jamieson put an end to their impressive 70-run partnership as the pacer dismissed Suryakumar (31). Soon after that, Washington Sundar caught and bowled Lynn, who missed his half-century by one run.

Nagpur: Four people were killed after a fire broke out at a COVID-19 hospital in Maharashtra’s Nagpur on Friday night.
“27 patients at the hospital were shifted to other hospitals. We can’t comment on their health condition now. The hospital has been evacuated,” a police officer said, news agency reported.
Four bodies have been found at the hospital, officials said.
The condition of two patients is critical, they said. The hospital in Nagpur’s Wadi neighbourhood is a 30-bed facility, of which 15 were intensive care unit beds.
“The fire reportedly started from an AC unit of the ICU located on the second floor of the hospital. The blaze remained confined to that floor and did not spread further,” Nagpur Municipal Corporation chief fire officer Rajendra Uchke told news agency, adding the hospital was treating COVID-19 patients.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “Saddened by the hospital fire in Nagpur. My thoughts are with the families of those who lost their lives. Praying that the injured recover at the earliest.”
Maharashtra BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis tweeted, “Pained to know about the hospital fire incident at Wadi in Nagpur. Spoke to Nagpur Collector and he told that all the assistance is being provided. Heartfelt condolences to families who lost their loved ones in this tragedy. Praying for speedy recovery of the injured.”
Maharashtra has been grappling with a spike in COVID-19 cases in recent weeks. The state has announced weekend restrictions and temporarily stopped vaccination at private centres till Monday.
Nagpur: In a bizarre incident, an elderly novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) patient was wrongly declared dead by the medical staff of a leading Covid-19 dedicated hospital here, on Saturday, the family said. Interestingly, the hospital staff of I G P A Hospital and Research Centre had also issued the death certificate of the 63-year-old woman to her family.
Following which the family of elderly woman reportedly started preparing for her last rites, when they received a call from I G P A Hospital and Research Centre, located near Jamtha Stadium on Wardha Road clarifying on their mistake that a living patient at the facility was being wrongly “declared dead”.
According to sources, the woman was tested positive for the virus borne disease on Friday. Following which the family immediately rushed her to I G P A Hospital and Research Centre after she complained about breathing problems.
On Saturday morning, the family reportedly received a call from hospital staff informing the death of the woman. Soon family rushed to the hospital who also issued a death certificate in this connection. However, as family was preparing for the last rites of the woman, the hospital administration reportedly called the family to rectify their mistake. Irked over which the family members reportedly stormed into hospital and picked a quarrel and later shifted the woman to another hospital.

IPL 2021 Earlier, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) Harshal Patel on Friday became the first-ever bowler to take a five-wicket haul against Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Harshal achieved the feat in the opening match of this year’s cash-rich league here at MA Chidambaram Stadium on Friday. The 30-year-old bowler picked three wickets in the final over of the Mumbai Indians’ innings to restrict the side to 159/9 in the allotted 20 overs. Harshal dismissed Krunal Pandya, Marco Jansen, and Kieron Pollard in the final over after sending Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya back to the pavilion in the 18th and 16th over respectively. Harshal bowled the final over of the innings and dismissed Krunal and Pollard on the first two deliveries. Harshal then bowled Marco Jansen and Jasprit Bumrah got run out on the final delivery of the over.
Students in the Swiss city of Basel falsified positive COVID-19 results in a bid to skip school, resulting in the entire class being put in quarantine, and now disciplinary measures against the perpetrators after the hoax was discovered.
Three students in Basel’s Kirschgarten High School falsified SMS messages from Switzerland’s COVID-19 contact tracing app, the Swiss newspaper reported.
That forced about 25 classmates to be confined to their homes for some 10 days. Several teachers were also affected by the incident just before spring break in March.
“This is not just a childish prank, this is a serious incident,” Simon Thiriet, a spokesman for Basel’s education department, told team.
The school plans to pursue criminal charges for falsifying “health-relevant documents” though it does not plan to expel them. Thiriet said that students are in a “difficult situation” due to the pandemic, but that doesn’t excuse the threesome’s stunt.
Nagpur: With the 48-hour ultimatum by traders coming to an end on Friday, city police have fully geared up to ensure the law and order remains under control, and shopkeepers stick to Covid-19 restrictions. Traders have threatened that from Friday they will initiate a non-cooperation movement, and keep shops open in defiance.
“Police will follow zero tolerance from Friday onwards, and people would be forced to go inside if they are found loitering,” said CP Amitesh Kumar. He also said large scale area domination and strong actions at sensitive locations from city police can be expected from Friday onwards. “No congregation or large-scale agitation would be allowed as they are blatant Covid inappropriate actions. We have filed three or four FIRs on Thursday,” he said.
Maharashtra Covid-19 cases update: Maharashtra reported 56,286 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, which took its caseload to 32,29,547, while 376 deaths due to the infection pushed the toll to 57,028, the health department said. On Wednesday, the state had recorded the highest daily count of 59,907 cases and 322 fatalities.
Maharashtra is among the fastest-growing states in the country in terms of caseload.
With Covid-19 vaccine stock over, at least 25 of 120 private vaccination centers in Mumbai were shut on Thursday. By Friday, the numbers will double and from Saturday, Mumbai will be forced to completely stop vaccinations if stocks are not replenished, said officials, adding that the city is left with less than a lakh doses. Hospitals like Fortis, SL Raheja, Breach Candy, SRCC, Parsee General, and Holy Family hospital turned away eligible beneficiaries on Thursday.

An analysis of bed availability in eight cities shows that vacancy for oxygen, ventilator, and ICU beds is only between 3 to 18 percent. Nagpur is the worst affected. On Thursday, it had only three ventilator beds left.
Even though municipal corporations are working overtime to increase bed capacity in these cities, the rising caseload makes patients face an uphill task in accessing beds for treatment. Mumbai on Thursday had 16.9 percent oxygen, ICU, and ventilators available, down from 17.9 percent. Pune’s bed vacancy dipped from 14.3 to 13.3 percent and Nashik saw the steepest drop in a day, from 20 to 18.2 percent.
A day after a heated exchange of words between Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan and Maharashtra over the latter’s demand for more vaccine stock, the Centre Thursday increased the state’s allocation to 17.43 lakh doses — from 7.43 lakh it had been assured on April 1. Kerala’s supply was also scaled up, from 4.74 to 7.74 lakh doses. The fresh stock is expected in the next few days.
However, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said the stock will still be insufficient. An order by the Union Health Ministry, accessed by The Indian Express, shows that 350 lakh Covishield doses are to be distributed in the coming days — Uttar Pradesh will receive 44.98 lakh doses, Madhya Pradesh 33.76 lakh, Karnataka 29.06 lakh, Haryana 24 lakh, West Bengal 21 lakh, Maharashtra 17.43 lakh, and Gujarat 15.57 lakh.

हा व्हिडीओ ट्रेन्ड झाल्यावरही पोलीस या कारला ट्रॅक करू शकले नाहीत आणि काही दिवसांनंतर या महिलेचा मृतदेह एका दुसऱ्या कारमध्ये आढळून आला. किर्गिस्तानची राजधानी बिश्केकमध्ये एका व्यक्तीला ही कार आढळून आली होती. त्यानेच पोलिसांना माहिती दिली. यानंतर अनेक महिला आणि पुरूष प्रदर्शन करण्यासाठी रस्त्यावर आले. ते या पंरपरेविरोधात आवाज उठवत प्रदर्शन करत होते. या महिलेसोबतच तरूण किडनॅपरचीही बॉडी सापडली आहे. तर एका दुसऱ्या किडनॅपरला पोलिसांनी अटक केलीये.
रिपोर्ट्सनुसार, ज्या तरूण किडनॅपर स्वत:ला संपवलं त्याने स्वत:ला आधी चाकूने जखमी केलं आणि नंतर जास्त रक्त वाहून गेल्याने त्याचा मृत्यू झाला होता. यावर महिलेच्या परिवाराचीही प्रतिक्रिया आली आहे. एजादाच्या घरातील लोक म्हणाले की, ते या व्यक्तीला आधीपासून ओळखते होते. ही व्यक्ती एजादाच्या मागे लागली होती. ते म्हणाले की, त्यांनी आधीही या व्यक्तीला इशारा दिला होता की, मुलीला त्रास देऊ नको.

Fadnavis was responding to the statement of State Health Minister Rajesh Tope accusing the Central Government of bias in supplying less quota of vaccines to Maharashtra in comparison to Gujarat and other BJP ruled states. Tope had further said that the state government has vaccines to last just 3 days and had demanded 40 lakh doses weekly to scale up vaccination in the state. “The Central Government supplied Gujarat with 1 crore doses of vaccines despite having less population than Maharashtra which has got only 1.40 crore doses of the vaccines,” Tope had charged.
Responding to Tope’s charge, Fadnavis said, “Look at the precarious situation in a state where patients aren’t getting ventilators, oxygenated beds, and even simple beds in government and private hospitals. There’s a massive shortage of Remdesivir and other essential medicines. All these factors aren’t in the hands of the Centre. Basically, this government has failed to fulfil its responsibility of providing basic services. None of the MVA ministers are talking about these issues,” Fadnavis said.
Fadnavis said Maharashtra received 1.06 crore vaccines. That means there are 1.5 million vaccines left. So, what is the reason for deliberately closing the Centre today and spreading false news about vaccines? He further said that only three states — Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Rajasthan — have received more than one crore vaccines. Gujarat and Rajasthan have the same population. The supply of vaccines is not on the basis of population, but on the basis of vaccination performance of each state, he stated.
Hyderabad: A realtor in Telangana struck a pot of gold, quite literally, while digging a plot of land and found antique ornaments that may have been used to adorn idols.
The realtor was trying to level a 11-acre plot next to the Warangal-Hyderabad National Highway in the Pembarthy village of Jangaon district in the state when he discovered a copper pot.
The earthmover, while trying to level the land, broke the pot containing the gold and silver ornaments.
The pot contained silver ornaments reportedly weighing 1.727 kg while the gold weighs 187.45 grams. They include earrings, nose rings, beads, anklets among other things.
As soon as news of the ‘treasure’ spread, villagers got together and, following tradition, cracked open a coconut, burnt incense sticks and offered flowers at the site, believing that the treasure belonged to a goddess at a temple in the past.
Narasimhulu, the owner of the plot of land, however, won’t get to keep the ornaments. The place will be dug up more to find out if there is more buried underground.
The District Additional Collector Bhaskar has taken charge of the treasure under the Indian Treasure Trove Act of 1878 said the ornaments would be kept with the Warangal Urban district treasury.
Archaeology experts are expected to study the ornaments and the location to put a date to the find.
Nagpur: A minor girl was ‘abducted’ by a man with the lure of marriage and raped frequently for over five months. The accused has not been arrested.
A complaint lodged at Pardi Police Station Nagpur by the 17-year old victim said that the accused Sohan Devchand Jagne (22), a native of Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh, lured her with marriage and took her to Balaghat. The accused exploited her sexually between July 7 and December 25, 2020, and later refused to marry her.
Nagpur Pardi police constable Hemlal has registered a case under Sections 376(1), 376(2)(N) of the IPC read with Sections 4, 8, 12 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. No arrest has been made in the matter.

Nagpur: The Nagpur District reported 5,514 fresh novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases and 73 deaths — the highest single-day figure since the outbreak of the pandemic — till Wednesday midnight.
With the latest update, the total number of cases has surged to 2,59,735 while the number of deaths rose 5,577.
As per the official report, out of the total positive cases, 2,628 were from rural areas and 2,881 cases from Nagpur city alone while five cases were reported from out of the district. Meanwhile, from the total deaths, 40 were reported from Nagpur city, five deaths were registered from outside the district, while 28 casualties were reported from Nagpur rural.
After the fresh updates, the total active cases in the city now stand at 45,097 including asymptomatic cases advised for home isolation. On the day 3,277 patients were successfully recovered from the virus-borne disease. Following which recovery rate is at 80.49%.
