Dhananjay Munde’s second wife discloses minister’s wealth, shares video

The problems of NCP leader and Social Justice Minister Dhananjay Munde in the Uddhav Thackeray government are not going away anytime soon. Dhananjay Munde’s second wife Karuna Dhananjay Munde has posted a video on Facebook and presented Munde’s wealth to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. She also said that the building being constructed for MLAs in Mumbai should not be constructed.

In the video she says, “I am wife of an MLA. My husband Dhananjay Munde is a minister. When my husband was a MLA, we had three bungalows in Parli, a farm house, two big bungalows in Pune and two big flats in Mumbai. Even after that we have got government bungalow. He had achieved all this when he was an MLA. Therefore, I urge the government why spend Rs 900 crore for MLA accommodation? Instead use the money for making new houses for police peronnel, repair them. What is the need to spend so much money on the building that is being constructed for MLA’s residence? She has appealed to use this money for well-being of common man”.

Aditya Thackeray has given Rs 3,600 crore for the renovation of the minister’s bungalow. When my husband was the Leader of the Opposition, I used to go to his bungalow. Don’t spend money on bungalows or those that don’t need any kind of renovation. While being an MLA they have already built bungalows at many places, then why build a tower for them. 20 bathrooms are ready in Malad, people from there came to me. I also wrote a letter to the MLA there. “I was sent a reverse notice,” she said. The Chief Minister should go there and see the situation of the bathrooms, she said.

In some places in Mumbai, people have to fetch water by using boat. People are facing inconveniences in slum areas. She has appealed to the MLAs to spend their money on accommodation. Two days ago, Karuna Munde also wrote a letter to the Governor about the injustice done to her and the threat to her life from Dhananjay Munde.

कोविडमधून बरे झाल्यानंतर १० रुग्णांमध्ये म्युकरमायकोसिसची लागण

नागपूर : राज्यात कोरोनाचा (Coronavirus) प्रादुर्भाव मोठ्या प्रमाणात होत आहे. आता त्यात भर पडली आहे ती म्युकरमायकोसीस (Mucormycosis) रुग्णांची. राज्यात म्युकरमायकोसीस रुग्णांचा आकडा वाढत आहे. त्यामुळे चिंता वाढली आहे. नागपुरात आतापर्यंत म्युकरने 26 रुग्णांचा मृत्यू झाला आहे. दरम्यान, मार्चपासून म्युकरमायकोसीसच्या 600च्यावर रुग्णांवर उपचार करण्यात आले आहेत, अशी माहिती कान-नाक-घसा डॉक्टर विदर्भ संघटनेचे अध्यक्ष डॉ. प्रशांत निखाडे यांनी दिली.(26 patients died of Mucormycosis infarction in Nagpur)

कान-नाक-घसा डॉक्टर विदर्भ संघटना अध्यक्ष डॉ. प्रशांत निखाडे यांनी सांगितले की, काळजी घेण्याची मोठी गजर निर्माण झाली आहे. कोरोना उपचारानंतर अशा रुग्णांत वाढ झाली आहे म्युकर हा जलद पसरणारा बुरशीचा रोग आहे. तो मुख्यतः नाक,डोळे आणि मेंदू यांना बाधित करतो.

– चेहऱ्यावर स्नायू दुखणे,चेहऱ्यावर बधिरपणा येणे
– नाक चोंदणे, नाकावर सूज येणे
– एका नाकपुडीत रक्तस्त्राव, काळपट स्त्राव

– वरच्या जबड्याचे दात दुखणे किंवा हलू लागणे

– रक्तातील साखरेवर काटेकोर नियंत्रण
– कान,नाक, घसा नेत्र, दंतरोग तज्ञ यांच्याकडून आठवड्यात एक तपासणी.. लक्षणे आढळल्यास लगेच डॉक्टरांशी संपर्क साधणे
– टूथब्रश/मास्क वरचेवर बदलणे
– दिवसातून एकदा गुळण्या करणे,
– वयक्तिक व परिसरातील स्वछता ठेवणे

Coronavirus: देशात करोनाबळींचा नवा उच्चांक; मृत्यू संख्या पोहोचली २,८३,२४८ वर

करोनाच्या दुसऱ्या लाटेत देशात करोना रुग्णसंख्येचा विस्फोट झाला. या लाटेत देशात जगातील विक्रमी रुग्णसंख्येची नोंद झाली. आता हळूहळू नवीन रुग्णसंख्येत घट होताना दिसत आहे. तर दुसरीकडे करोना मृत्यूची लाट आल्याचंच दृश्य आहे. देशात गेल्या महिनाभरापासून दररोज चार हजारांच्या आसपास करोना रुग्णांचे मृत्यू होत आहेत. गेल्या २४ तासांतील मृत्यूची आकडेवारीही भयावह असून, देशात एका दिवसातील आतापर्यंतची उच्चांकी नोंद झाली आहे.

देशात करोनाच्या दुसऱ्या लाटेनं हाहाकार उडाला आहे. महाराष्ट्र, दिल्लीत उद्रेक झाल्यानंतर गुजरात, राजस्थान, उत्तर प्रदेश, बिहारमध्ये करोना परिस्थिती बिकट बनली आहे. करोना आणि करोनानंतर उद्भवणाऱ्या व्याधींमुळे देशात मोठ्या संख्येनं मृत्यू होत आहेत. देशात करोनामुळे प्राण गमवाव्या लागणाऱ्या रुग्णांची संख्या दिवसेंदिवस वाढत असून, गेल्या २४ तासांतील आकडेवारी झोप उडवणारी आहे.

केंद्रीय आरोग्य मंत्रालयाने प्रसिद्ध केलेल्या आकडेवारीनुसार देशात मागील २४ तासांत म्हणजे मंगळवारी दिवसभरात दोन लाख ६७ हजार ३३४ नवीन करोनाबाधित रुग्ण आढळून आले आहेत. तर दिलासा देणारी बाब म्हणजे याच कालावधीत देशात तीन लाख ८९ हजार ८५१ रुग्ण करोनावर मात करून घरी परतले आहेत. असं असलं तरी वाढत्या मृत्यू संख्येनं देशाची चिंता वाढवली आहे. गेल्या २४ तासांत आतापर्यंतची उच्चांकी मृत्यूंची नोंद झाली आहे. देशात मंगळवारी चार हजार ५२९ रुग्णांचा मृत्यू झाला असून, एकूण मृतांची संख्या दोन लाख ८३ हजार २४८ वर जाऊन पोहोचली आहे.

यात सर्वाधिक मृत्यू महाराष्ट्रात नोंदवले गेले आहेत. महाराष्ट्रात ६७९ मृत्यू झाले आहेत. त्यापाठोपाठ कर्नाटक ५२५, तामिळनाडू ३६४ या राज्यांचा क्रमांक आहे. महाराष्ट्रात २८ हजार ४३८ नवीन रुग्ण आढळून आले आहेत, तर कर्नाटकात ३० हजार आणि तामिळनाडूत ३३ हजार नवीन रुग्णांची नोंद झाली आहे.

गुजरातमध्ये ७१ दिवसात सव्वालाख मृत्यूंची नोंद १ मार्च २०२१ ते १० मे २०२१ या कालावधी राज्यात वाटप करण्यात आलेल्या मृत्यू प्रमाणपत्राच्या आकडेवारीची पडताळणी करण्यात आली. यातून डोळे विस्फारुन टाकणारी माहिती उजेडात आली आहे. ३३ जिल्हे आणि ८ महापालिकांद्वारे ७१ दिवसांमध्ये १ लाख २३ हजार ८७१ मृत्यू प्रमाणपत्र देण्यात आले आहेत. तर विरोधाभास म्हणजे राज्यात केवळ ४ हजार २१८ जणांचाच करोनामुळे मृत्यू झाल्याचं सरकारी आकडेवारी सांगते. त्यामुळे गुजरातमध्ये ७१ दिवसात सव्वा लाख लोकांचा मृत्यू कशामुळे झाला, असा प्रश्न आता उभा राहिला आहे.

काटोल : तरुणाला मारून समाधान झालं नाही; जिवंतपणे आग लावून केली हत्या

काटोल : दारूच्या नशेत एका तरुणाला त्याच्या मित्रांनी आधी मारहाण व त्यानंतर गळा कापल्याची घटना समोर आली आहे. त्यावरच त्यांचं समाधान झाले नाही. तर त्या तरुणाच्या अंगावर पेट्रोल व टायर टाकून जीवंत जाळल्याची खळबळजनक घटना काटोल तालुक्यातील सावळी शिवारात घडली़ पुढे आली आहे. या प्रकरणी पोलिसांनी तीन आरोपींना अटक केली आहे़. अंगद उर्फ बिट्टू अशोकराव कडूकर (28) असे मृतकाचे नाव असून आरोपी अक्षय घिचेरिया व मंगेश जिचकार व गणेश नैताम अशी अटक करण्यात आलेल्या आरोपींची नावे आहेत़.

मिळालेल्या माहितीनुसार घटनेच्या दिवशी मृत तरुण अंगद हा गावातील मित्र अमोल नागपूरे आणि वैभव हिवसे यांच्यासोबत दुपारी 3 वाजताच्या सुमारास रिधोरा येथून एमएच 04 एडब्लु 5123 क्रमांकाच्या क्वालिस गाडीने काटोल येथे जेवणा करीता गेले़. यावेळी ते मद्य प्राशन करूनच होते़. झुणका भाकर केंद्रावर ऑर्डरला वेळ असल्याने तिघेही शेजारी एका ठिकाणी बसले. तेथे त्यांनी पुन्हा मद्यप्राशन केले़. जवळच्या टेबलवर अंगदचा व वैभवचा मित्र आरोपी मंगेश जिचकार बसला होता़. त्याच्यासोबत त्यांचा मित्र आरोपी अक्षय घिचेरिया व नैताम बसला होता़. त्यामुळे सहाही जण एकाच टेबलवर मद्य प्राशनासाठी बसले़. दरम्यान वैभवला जास्त झाल्याने जिचकार यांने वैभवला घरी रिधोरा येथे सोडून देऊ असे म्हटले़.

अमोलला झुणका भाकर केंद्रावरच सोडून अंगद, वैभव, अक्षय, मंगेश व नैताम रिधोऱ्याकडे निघाले़. मात्र, ते काटोल बसस्थानकापर्यत पोहचले असता त्यांनी वैभवला बसस्थानक परिसरात सोडून अंगदला डोगरगाव परिसरात घेऊन गेले़. आणि तेथे त्यांच्यांत वाद झाला़. त्यानंतर आरोपींनी अंगदला मारहाण केली व सावळी परब शिवारात नेऊन रस्त्याच्या कडेला फेकून दिले.

Over 1,000 children, parents reach out to government helpline seeking help

From facing loneliness in Covid-19 isolation ward to exhibiting aggressive behaviour after parents contracted the virus, over 1,000 children and parents have reached out to government helpline seeking help.

With an objective of providing psychological first-aid and emotional support to children affected during the pandemic, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR)is providing tele-counselling to children through SAMVEDNA (Sensitising Action on Mental Health Vulnerability through Emotional Development and Necessary Acceptance) – a toll-free helpline launched to provide psycho-social mental support for affected children.

According to Women and Child Development Ministry officials, redressal of 1,009 complaints have been done between September, 2020 to May 7, 2021.

In a case from a Covid-19 isolation centre in Aurangabad, a 15-year-old child expressed frustration over not getting enough love from parents due to more number of siblings and called up to talk about her parents” pressure of getting her married of early.

The counsellor spoke to the child and her parents and suggested to encourage her to focus on academics.

In another case, parent of a six-year-old child in Kanpur called to discuss the aggressive behaviour of their child who was lodged in an isolation centre after contracting the virus.

The counsellor suggested that the child engage in different activities like narrating stories or playing with toys. It was found that as the parents were keeping to themselves after the family tested positive, the child was feeling lonely and exhibiting aggressive behaviour.

A 17-year-old boy from Madhya Pradesh’s Singrauli isolation centre called up and talked about being scared of loneliness. The counsellor advised him to spend time engaging in activities he is interested in and making a regular routine to get away from boredom.

This tele-counselling service is available on a toll-free number 1800-121-2830 from Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to 8 pm and is exclusively for children who are willing to talk and are in need of counselling.

When a child/caretaker/parent dials SAMVEDNA, they get to speak to a professional counsellor in a safe environment. Tele-counselling is provided to children under three categories: children who are in quarantine/isolation/Covid-19 care centres, children who have Covid-19 positive parents or family members, and children who have lost their parents due to the pandemic.

This service caters to children from all over India in various regional languages like Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Oriya, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, the Women and Child Development Ministry said.

This service was launched in September,2020 and aims to support children in the difficult times of Covid-19 pandemic.

Shiv Sunder Das appointed as batting coach of the Indian women’s team

Former India opener Shiv Sunder Das has been appointed the batting coach of the Indian women’s team for the tour of England and he is looking forward to use his coaching stint at NCA to guide the youngsters during the trip. Das, who has played 23 Tests between 2000-02, has a decent average of near 35 with more than 1300 runs, including two hundreds and nine half centuries.

“It will be good experience and I am looking forward to it,” the 43-year-old former Odisha skipper told PTI on his appointment. He has honed his skills as a batting coach at the National Cricket Academy under Rahul Dravid’s guidance and that, he believes, will help him while trying to solve the technical problems of the batters. “I have been part of NCA for last 4-5 years and have been batting coach for last couple of years. I would like to thank Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly for giving me this opportunity,” said the man who has played all his cricket under the BCCI president’s captaincy.

“I don’t think there is a lot of difference and at the end of the day, you impart your knowledge, and work with players. You contribute to their success and be ready to solve their cricketing issues when they require you. My responsibility is to make them well prepared and match ready.” Das was a part of the Indian team that toured England under Ganguly in 2002 and scored a 250 in a first-class tour game. “That was my highest score in England on that tour,” he recalled. Das believes that his experience of having played years of league cricket in England will also prove to be very helpful.

“It will help that I have played a lot of cricket in England, including international cricket and league cricket. I know the conditions and those experiences I will share with them. “A few of them have toured England multiple times and they have a bit of experience. Whatever time we have, we will see how many training sessions we get and make sure we use them properly,” he said. The women’s team will be playing a Test match after a long time but the new batting coach is confident that with senior pros like Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami in the side, adapting to conditions won’t be very difficult.

“The girls will be excited as they are getting an opportunity to play a Test match after a long time and it’s a good initiative that they are playing the longer format. “Jhulan and Mithali have played a lot of international cricket and they will easily adjust to it and it is a good time for young players as it gives opportunity to learn the art of building an innings or bowl a lot of overs, which is good for overall growth as a cricketer,” he concluded.

The wait for the anticipated second season of ‘The Family Man’ is going to get over soon. On Tuesday, Amazon Prime Video announced that the trailer for the new season is scheduled for launch tomorrow, May 19.

The second season of ‘The Family Man’ will see the return of Manoj Bajpayee as NIA agent Srikant Tiwari, who continues to struggle while balancing personal and professional lives, even as he fights a new nemesis, Raji, played by southern star Samantha Akkineni. मोठा पणती टोळक्याचा धुडघूस; सिगारेट दिली नाही म्हणून पेट्रोल टाकून घर पेटवून दिले

पुणे : शहरातील हांडेवाडी रोडवरील सय्यदनगर, चिंतामणीनगर परिसरात मोठा पणती टोळक्याने धुडघूस घालत पानटपरी चालकाचा गळा दाबला. पेट्रोल टाकून घर पेटवून खुनाचा प्रयत्न केला. त्यानंतर या टोळक्याने दोन दुकानावर दरोडा टाकत गल्ल्यातील रोकड जबरदस्तीने चोरली. पेट्रोलपंपावरील कर्मचार्‍याला मारहाण करुन मॅनेजरच्या केबीनमध्ये घुसून तोडफोड केली.

याप्रकरणी वानवडीपोलिसांनी नोमन सय्यद व मोठा पणती ऊर्फ रिझवान शेख (रा. चिंतामणीनगर, हडपसर) या दोघांना अटक केली आहे. या घटना सोमवारी सकाळी सात ते रात्री एक वाजण्याच्या दरम्यान घडल्या आहेत. नोमन सय्यद, मोठा पणती, आत्तु अन्सारी या तिघांविरुद्ध खुनाचा प्रयत्न, जबरदी चोरी, दरोडा, दहशत निर्माण करणे असे तीन गुन्हे दाखल करण्यात आले आहेत.

याप्रकरणी आरिफ रफिक सय्यद (वय ३३, रा. चिंतामणीनगर, हांडेवाडी रोड) यांनी फिर्याद दिली आहे. नोमन व आत्तु या दोघांनी आरिफ यांच्या वडिलांच्या पान टपरीच्या लोखंडी बॉक्सवर दगड मारुन शिवीगाळ केली. त्यांना सिगारेट मागितली परंतु, लॉकडाऊनमुळे टपरी बंद असल्यामुळे सिगारेट नसल्याचे वडिलांनी सांगितले. त्यावर या दोघांनी त्यांच्या वडिलांना साले बुढे हमको सिगारेट नही देता, असे म्हणून खाली पाडून त्यांचा गळा दाबला. त्यामध्ये ते बेशुद्ध पडले. आरिफ यांनी त्यांना उपचारसाठी रुग्णालयात दाखल केले. दरम्यान आरिफ यांनी वडिलांवर उपचार करुन त्यांना घरी घेऊन आले. ते घराबाहेर थांबले असताना हे दोघे परत तेथे आले. त्यांनी जीवे ठार मारण्याची धमकी देऊन आम्ही इथले भाई असून दररोज फुकट सिगारेट देण्यास सांगितले. त्यानंतर आरोपींनी कमरेला लावलेला कोयता हवेत फिरवून दहशत निर्माण केली. आरिफ हे हॉस्पिटलमध्ये असताना त्यांच्यावर दहशत रहावी, म्हणून घरात इतर लोक असताना व त्यांचा जीव जाईल हे माहिती असताना पेट्रोल टाकून घर पेटवून दिले.

दुसर्‍या घटनेत सागर राजकुमार राठोड (वय २०, रा. सय्यदनगर, हडपसर) यांनी फिर्याद दिली आहे. चिंतामणी अमृततुल्य या चहा दुकानात ते सकाळी ७ वाजता काम करीत होते. त्यावेळी नोमन, मोठा पणती व आत्तु हे तिघे तेथे विनामास्क आले. त्यांनी कोयत्याचा धाक दाखवून गल्ल्यातील ८०० रुपये जबरदस्तीने चोरुन नेले. तेथील मगर पेट्रोल पंपावरील कर्मचार्‍यांना शिवीगाळ करुन मारहाण केली. पंपावरील मॅनेजरच्या रुममध्ये शिरुन तोडफोड करुन मॅनेजर बाळू अंभोरे यांना मारहाण केली.

तिसर्‍या घटनेबाबत केवळराम लादुराम परमार (वय ४१, रा. चिंतामणी नगर) यांनी फिर्याद दिली आहे. ते सकाळी साडेसातच्या सुमारास नवदुर्गा किराणा मालाच्या दुकानात काम करत होते. त्यावेळी हे तिघे जण आले. त्यांनी परमार यांना उलट्या कोयत्याने मारहाण केली. काऊंटरवरील साहित्य रस्त्यावर पाडून नुकसान केले. गल्ल्यातील ३ हजार रुपयांची रोकड जबरदस्तीने चोरुन नेली. या प्रकरणात पोलिसांनी तीन गुन्हे दाखल करुन दोघांना अटक केली आहे.

भररस्त्यात मारामारी, पोलिसानं महिलेच्या कानशिलात लगावली, महिलेनंही श्रीमुखात भडकावली

देशात आलेली कोरोनाची दुसरी लाट अद्याप ओसरलेली नाही. मे महिन्याच्या तुलनेत देशात दररोज आढळून येत असलेल्या कोरोना रुग्णांचा आकडा कमी झाला आहे. मात्र अजूनही देशात दररोज २ लाखांहून अधिक करोनो रुग्ण आढळून येत असल्यानं धोका कायम आहे. मात्र तरीही अनेक जण कोरोना प्रतिबंधात्मक नियम पाळताना दिसत नाही. मध्य प्रदेशच्या सागरमध्ये लॉकडाऊन दरम्यान पोलिसांनी विनामास्क फिरणाऱ्या मायलेकींना रोखलं. यानंतर त्या दोघींनी पोलिसांसोबत वाद घातला. प्रकरण अगदी मारहाणीपर्यंत गेलं.

मास्कशिवाय फिरणाऱ्या मायलेकीकडे पोलिसांनी मास्कबद्दल विचारणा केली. मायलेकींनी महिला पोलिसाला धक्काबुक्की केली. महिला पोलिसानं धक्का देणाऱ्या महिलेच्या कानशिलात लगावली. त्यानंतर महिलेनंदेखील पोलिसाच्या श्रीमुखात भडकावली. यामुळे संतापलेल्या महिला पोलिसानं पुन्हा त्या महिलेच्या थोबाडीत दिली. पोलिसानं महिलेचे केस पकडून तिला खेचत नेलं. त्यावेळी तिथे उपस्थित असलेल्या पोलीस कर्मचाऱ्यांनी हाणामारी थांबवली. हा प्रकार बराच वेळ सुरू होता. यानंतर पोलिसांनी मायलेकींविरोधात गुन्हे दाखल करत त्यांची रवानगी तुरुंगात केली.

Nagpur: While Nagpurians finding hard to secure their vaccination slot on CoWin website, as all the slots at Nagpur centres showing full — many people blamed it on the vaccines shortage, attributed due to the lack of competency and mismanagement of the Administration — however, Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari has clarified that there are enough vaccines available at the centres, one can even directly get their jab by reaching out to the designated vaccination centre. It’s the data on CoWin website that has not been revised. This could be the reason perhaps all the slots are showing booked, he rectified.

Mayor Tiwari said, “The Government has recently announced gap of around 90-days before administering second dose of the Covid vaccine. The move has not only helped everyone to review vaccination drives but also mitigated the vaccines paucity. So first of all I want to clarify that there’s no shortage of vaccines in Nagpur. However, as far as CoWin website is concern, many people book their slot at several centres but never show up for vaccination. These pending enrolments then add up to the current status of slots and perhaps attributing to this crises,” said Tiwari and added that, “Citizen can directly approach the designated vaccination centres for their jab.”

Travelling to villages to get vaccinated:
It is pertinent to mention that city dwellers were compelled to visit nearby villages for their jabs, due to lack of slot availability shown on CoWin website within Municipal boundaries.

Citizens expressing anguish on social media:
From enrolling on the CoWin website, waiting for the OTP to following the procedure, people are facing several issues while trying to schedule an appointment. Even after spending hours on the website and following the alerts, people have been unable to book vaccine slots. The constant struggle to get the jab has also diverted netizens to social media, where many are expressing their anguish, trolling mismanagement to highlight the grim situation.

State flagged shortage:
It is pertinent to mention that Maharashtra Government has already suspended Covid-19 vaccination for those in the 18-44 age group amid a shortage of the vaccine doses. Despite the fact that the State Government has decided to divert the vials of vaccines meant for the 18-44 age group for the use of people aged 45 years and above, Nagpurians are struggling to book slots to get the vaccine.

Senior citizen found killed in Ganeshpeth flat Nagpur

नागपूर : बळजबरी करणाऱ्या (Sexual Harassment) सावत्र वडिलांची लाकडी दांड्यानं वार करून हत्या (Daughter killed step father) केल्याची खळबळजनक घटना नागपूरात घडली आहे. नागपूर जिल्ह्यातील हिंगणा तालुक्यातील सावळी बेबी येथील रहिवासी असणाऱ्या मुलीला तिचा सावत्र वडील सातत्यानं बळजबरी करत होता. यामुळे पीडित मुलीनं सावत्र वडिलांच्या त्रासाला कंटाळून त्यांच्या तोंडावर लाकडी दांड्यानं वार करून त्यांची हत्या केली आहे. याप्रकरणी हिंगणा पोलीस ठाण्यात गुन्हा दाखल करण्यात आला असून पोलिसांनी मृताची पत्नी आणि मुलीला ताब्यात घेतलं आहे. या घटनेचा पुढील तपास सुरू आहे.

ज्ञानेश्वर दामाजी गडकर असं हत्या झालेल्या सावत्र वडिलांचं नाव असून ते 60 वर्षांचे होते. पंधरा वर्षांपूर्वी पहिल्या पत्नीनं सोडून दिल्यानंतर मृत ज्ञानेश्वर यानं वंदना नावाच्या एका विवाहित महिलेशी लग्न केलं होतं. लग्नाच्या वेळी वंदनाला पहिल्या नवऱ्यापासून एक मुलगी होती. लग्न झाल्यानंतर ज्ञानेश्वर सावळी बीबी याठिकाणी वंदनासोबत राहू लागला. काही दिवस एकत्र राहिल्यानंतर ज्ञानेश्वर वर्धा जिल्ह्यातील खापरी याठिकाणी राहायला गेला. पण तो अधून मधून सावळी बीबी याठिकाणी वंदनाला भेटायला येत होता.

इथे भेटायला आल्यानंतर तो वंदनाला आणि सावत्र मुलीला नेहमी त्रास द्यायचा. सोमवारी सकाळी 11 च्या सुमारास मृत सावत्र वडील ज्ञानेश्वर नेहमी प्रमाणे दारू पिऊन आला. यावेळीही त्यानं 17 वर्षीय सावत्र मुलीवर बळजबरी करण्यास सुरुवात केली. यावेळी वंदना देखील तिथेच होत्या. पत्नीलादेखील आवरत नसल्याचं पाहून पीडित मुलीनं जवळचं पडलेल्या लाकडी दांड्यानं ज्ञानेश्वरच्या तोंडावर जबरी वार केला. या एका फटक्यात ज्ञानेश्वर बेशुद्ध पडला. यानंतर रक्तप्रवाह जास्त झाल्यानं ज्ञानेश्वरचा जागीच मृत्यू झाला आहे.

मृत ज्ञानेश्वरला 4 तुरुंगवास झाला होता

विशेष म्हणजे, मृत ज्ञानेश्वरला चार वर्ष तुरुंगवास झाला होता. त्यानं 2016 मध्ये त्याच्या अल्पवयीन सावत्र मुलीवर बळजबरी करण्याचा प्रयत्न केला होता. त्यावेळी न्यायालयानं त्याला कलम 376 आणि पोक्सो कायद्यांतर्गत 4 वर्षांची शिक्षा सुनावली होती. 15 जानेवारी 2021 मध्ये ही शिक्षा सुनावण्यात आली होती. पण कारावास पूर्ण होण्याअगोदरचं ज्ञानेश्वर तुरुंगातूना बाहेर आला होता. तेव्हापासून मृत ज्ञानेश्वरनं या मायलेकींना त्रास द्यायला सुरू केला होता. याप्रकरणी 20 जानेवारी रोजी पोलिसांत गुन्हा देखील दाखल करण्यात आला होता.

Picnic turns into tragedy as Father and his 12 year old Son drown in lake

Nagpur: A picnic turned into a tragedy as a man and his 12-year-old son drowned in Zilpi Lake in the Hingna area on Monday morning. The family of four – husband, wife and their two sons – had gone to the lake to celebrate the birthday of their younger son, police officials said. The deceased are identified as Abdul Asif Abdul Gani Sheikh (35) and his son Abdul Chahbil Abdul Asif (12). According to police, the family is resident of Tipu Sultan Chowk in Yashodhara Nagar Area. They had gone to the lake on a motorcycle at around 11 am. Before celebrating the birthday, Abdul and his son Chahbil ventured into the waters for swimming while Abdul’s wife Asma (30) and their younger son were waiting on the banks of the lake.

After swimming for a while, Abdul and Chahbil stuck in the mud. While drowning into the water, they raised an alarm for help. As no one was present near the lake, Asma immediately ventured into the waters. Before she could reach upto Abdul, she also struck in the mud and started drowning. Some fishermen and herdsmen noticed the incident and ran towards the spot.

They managed to save Asma and took her to the banks of the lake. However, Abdul and Chahbil disappeared in the water. Staff of Hingna Police Station led by WPI Sapna Kshirsagar rushed to the spot and sent the bodies for post-mortem. An eye-witness informed that Asma and her younger son were unconscious for some time after the incident. A large number of villages also gathered to the spot after the news spread in the area. A case of accidental death was registered by Hingna police. Further investigation is on.

Views new privacy policy of WhatsApp as violation of IT laws: Centre to HC

THE Centre on Monday told the Delhi High Court that it views the new privacy policy of WhatsApp as a violation of the Indian Information Technology (IT) law and rules, and sought directions to the social media platform to make it clear whether it was confirming to the same.

The Central Government’s claim was made before a bench of Chief Justice D N Patel and Justice Jyoti Singh during hearing of several pleas challenging WhatsApp’s new privacy policy, which according to the platform has come into effect from May 15 and has not been deferred. WhatsApp told the bench that while its new privacy policy has come into effect from May 15, it would not start deleting accounts of those users who have not accepted it and would try to encourage them to get on board. The platform said there was no universal or uniform time limit after which it will start to delete accounts as each user would be dealt with it on case-to-case basis.

The bench issued notice to the Centre, Facebook and WhatsApp and sought their stand on one of the pleas by a lawyer who has claimed that the new policy violates users’ right to privacy under the Constitution. During the hearing, the Centre said that according to it the policy was in violation of Indian IT laws and rules. It said it has written to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg on the issue and a reply is awaited and therefore, there was a need to maintain status quo with regard to implementation of the policy.

India’s weekly Covid-19 positivity rate decreases to 18.17 per cent

IN AN encouraging development, a declining trend in the weekly positivity rate is observed which stands at 18.17 per cent on Monday, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Monday. The daily new COVID cases being registered in India was less than 3 lakh after 26 days, the Ministry said. According to Health Ministry data, 2,81,386 new cases were registered in the last 24 hours out of which Maharashtra has reported the highest daily new cases at 34,389, followed by Tamil Nadu with 33,181 new cases.

There has been an average decline in daily new cases since May 9, it pointed out. India registers 2.81 lakh fresh cases, 4,106 deaths: INDIA’S COVID-19 tally mounted to 2,49,65,463 on Monday with 2,81,386 fresh cases, the lowest in 27 days, while the death toll climbed to 2,74,390 as 4,106 more people succumbed to the disease, according to Union Health Ministry data. The number of active cases stands at 35,16,997, accounting for 14.09 per cent of the total infections. The national recovery rate has improved to 84.81 per cent, the data updated at 8 am showed.

Girl kills her drunkard step-father trying to sexually exploit her in Hingna

Nagpur: In a heart wrenching incident, a girl reportedly killed her drunkard step-father, who allegedly tried to sexually exploit her in Sawali village under Hingna Police Station on Monday.

According to sources, the deceased man was a habitual drinker who would often misbehave with the girl. On Monday, the girl was alone at home when her step-father barged inside the house under the influence of liquor. The man reportedly behaved objectionable with the girl before forcing himself upon her. In the fir of rage the girl reportedly attacked him with sharp edged weapon and killed him on the spot.

Following the incident, the squad of Hingna Police along with Zonal DCP have visited the crime spot. The body has been sent for autopsy while the girl has been apprehended on the charges of murder. Further investigations are on.

नागपूर : घरी एकट्याच राहत असलेल्या 62 वर्षीय वृद्धेची हत्या (Murder) करण्यात आल्याची घटना दोन दिवासआधी नागपूरच्या (Nagpur) एमआयडीसी पोलीस स्टेशन अंतर्गत एसआपीएफ कॅम्प पाठीमागे असलेल्या सप्तक नगरात घडली होती. या वृद्ध महिलेची हत्या तिच्याच नातीने केल्याची माहिती तपासातून समोर आली आहे.

मृतक विजयाबाई पांडुरंग तिवलक या राज्य राखीव पोलीस दलात स्वयंपाकी पदावरून 2017 मध्ये सेवानिवृत्त झाल्यानंतर सप्तक नगर येथील घरी एकट्याच राहत होत्या. त्यांना अमोल नावाचा मुलगा व दोन मुली आहे.मुलगा राज्य राखीव पोलीस दलात शिपाई असून त्याच्या पत्नीसह एसआरपीएफ वसाहती मधील क्वार्टरमध्ये वेगळा राहतो.दोन मुलीचे लग्न झाले असून त्या नागपूर शहरात राहतात. शनिवारी दुपारी एक वाजता तिच्या घरचे भांडेधुनी करणारी मोलकरीण जेव्हा आली तेव्हा तिला घरच्या बेडरूममध्ये विजया पलंगावर रक्ताच्या थारोळ्यात दिसली. तिच्या डोक्यावर जखमा होत्या. मोलकरणीने याबाबत विजयांच्या जावई व मुलाला माहिती दिली.

त्यानंतर एमआयडीसी पोलिसांना सुद्धा कळविण्यात आले. एमआयडीसीचे ठाणेदार युवराज हांडे, सहपोलीस निरीक्षक लबडे, उपनिरीक्षक जाधव घटनास्थळी दाखल झाले त्यांनी घटनास्थळाचा पंचनामा करून मृतदेह उत्तरीय तपासणीसाठी पाठविला. पोलिसांनी त्या महिलेच्या मुली व मुलाला देखील बोलावून विचारपूस केली असून पुढील तपास सुरू केला. पोलिसांना हत्येचे धागेदोरे गवसत नव्हते.

तपासात मृतकच्या कुटुंबापैकी वृद्ध महिलेची ना हजर नसल्याचे पोलिसांना आढळले. कुटुंबियांकडून माहिती घेतली असता 17 वर्षीय नात ही कुटुंबासोबत राहत नाही ती अल्पवयीन मुस्लिम प्रियकरासोबत राहते असे लक्षात आले. त्यांनतर पोलिसांनी तपासाची सूत्रे तिच्यावर वळवली असता ही घटनेच्या दिवशी आजीकडे असल्याचे तांत्रिक पुराव्यातून पुढे आले. सोबतच तिचा प्रियकर व त्याचे मित्र देखील मृत महिलेच्या घरी आले असल्याचे उघड झाले.

त्यांनतर पोलिसांनी निलेश पौणिकर, कादिर खान व आरजू आलम यांना अटक केली. त्यांतून आजीच्या नातीच्या सांगण्यावर आम्ही येथे चोरी करायला आलो असल्याचे त्यांनी सांगितले. मात्र आजीला जाग आल्याने त्यांनी तिचा गळा आवळून हत्या केल्याचे सांगितले. आज नागपूर पोलिसांनी अल्पवयीन नात व तिच्या प्रियकराला अमरावती येथून अटक केली.

दोघेही घरच्यांपासून दूर राहत होते. प्रियकराला व्यवसाय टाकण्यासाठी पैसा हवा होता, आपल्या आजीकडे 15 लाख रुपये व सोने आहे असा नातीचा अंदाज होता. त्यामुळे हा पैसा मिळवण्याच्या उद्देशाने नातीने हे सर्व कृत्य केल्याचे पुढे आले. हत्येनंतर आरोपींना 2300 रुपये थोडेफार दागिने मिळाले होते तेच लुटून ते फरार झाले होते. सुरवातीला बेहोश करून लूट करण्याचा आरोपींचा उद्देश होता.मात्र मृतक आपला भांडाफोड करेल म्हणून विजया यांची हत्या करण्यात आली, अशी कबुली दोघांनी दिली.

Income Tax commissioner accused of raping woman doctor, forcing her to abort

Nagpur: A case of rape has been registered against an Income Tax commissioner by the Nagpur district police after a woman doctor alleged that he raped her under the pretext of marriage and forced her to abort, an official said on Sunday.

The accused, 35, is a resident of Puducherry. The accused came in contact with the woman doctor who was then working with a government hospital in Nagpur. He was staying in the city for training at the National Academy of Direct Taxes (NADT) in 2019, the official said.

The accused became friends with the victim when the former had gone to the hospital for treatment, he added.

The accused had given his mobile phone number to the victim when she told him that she was preparing for UPSC examinations, the official said quoting the FIR.

Later, the accused entered into a physical relationship with the woman under the pretext of marrying her.

He allegedly raped her multiple times and also clicked her obscene photos, the official said.

When the woman became pregnant, he asked her to abort, he said.

The accused threatened the victim to release her pictures on social media when she insisted on marriage, the official said.

A case of rape has been registered under sections 376 (2) of the Indian Penal Code.

The accused is posted in Bengaluru, the official said. No arrest is made and further investigation is underway

Man in Karnataka ties knot with two sisters at the same time

A man named Umapathy from Karnataka’s Kolar tied the knot in a real-life incident, not with one but two women. The wedding took place in Kurudumale temple, located in Mulbagal in Kolar district. The wedding took place on May 7 and a video of the ceremony went viral on Saturday.

The reason for this illegal bigamy was a condition put forth by Lalitha, the women Umapathy had originally proposed to marry. The condition by Lalitha was to marry her sister who is speech impaired, as reported by the Bangalore mirror. The families of the bride and groom agreed on this proposition in the end.

However, the decision didn’t turn out to be in their favour when the video went viral. The police swung into action and arrested Umapathy, as one of the brides happens to be a minor.

For the unversed, this practice wasn’t the first time in the family, the bride’s father Nagarajappa had also married two siblings (Raniyamma and Subbamma) at the same venue as one of the sisters was suffering from speech impairment.

Such events had surfaced in 2019 wherein a man married two women, who were cousins, at the same wedding ceremony in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhind district. Leaving everyone shocked, a 35-year-old man remarried his wife and then also tied the knot with her cousin at the same wedding ceremony.

Bigamy is a serious offence (Section 494, IPC) under the Hindu Marriage Act, and unless you divorce your first wife, the second marriage is not considered legal.

नागपूर: एकीकडे कोरोनातून बरे झालेल्या रुग्णांमध्ये म्युकरमायकोसिसचे प्रमाण वाढत असताना आता लहान मुलांनाही नव्या आजाराची लागण होताना दिसत आहे. नागपूरमध्ये या नव्या आजाराचे 30 रुग्ण आढळून आ असून यापैकी एकाचा मृत्यूही झाला आहे. कोरोना होऊन गेल्यानंतर लहान मुलांना ‘मल्टी सिस्टम इन्फ्लेमेटरी सिन्ड्रोम’ची बाधा होताना दिसत आहे. त्यामुळे लहान मुलांमध्ये विविध विकार उद्भवताना दिसत आहेत. मृत्यू झालेल्या एका रुग्णाला ब्रेन ट्युमर झाल्याची माहिती आता समोर आली आहे.

कोरोना संक्रमण झाल्यानंतर दोन ते सहा आठवड्यांनी लहान मुलांमध्ये ‘मल्टी सिस्टम इन्फ्लेमेटरी सिन्ड्रोम’ची लक्षणे जाणवायला लागतात. त्यामुळे पालकांनी याबाबतीत तातडीने डॉक्टरांचा सल्ला घ्यावा, अशा सूचना देण्यात आल्या आहेत.

औरंगाबादमध्ये म्युकरमायकोसिसचा कहर
औरंगाबादमध्ये सध्या कोरोनापाठोपाठ म्युकरमायकोसिस हा आजार थैमान घालताना दिसत आहे. म्युकरमायकोसिसमुळे औरंगाबादमध्ये गेल्या दीड महिन्यांत 16 जणांचा बळी गेला आहे. आतापर्यंत जिल्ह्यातील 201 रुग्णांना म्युकरमायकोसिसची बाधा झाली आहे. आतापर्यंत 113 जणांचे डोळे काढण्यात आले आहेत.

राज्यात म्युकरमायकोसिसचे सर्वाधिक रुग्ण औरंगाबादेत आहेत. सर्वाधिक मृत्यूचे प्रमाण सुद्धा औरंगाबादमध्येच आहे. त्यामुळे आरोग्ययंत्रणा प्रचंड धास्तावली आहे.

कोरोनाची तिसरी लाट मुलांसाठी किती घातक?
देशात सध्या कोरोनाच्या दुसऱ्या लाटेचा प्रचंड कहर सुरू आहे. ही लाट आटोक्यात येताच तीन-चार महिन्यानंतर तिसऱ्या लाटेचा धोका उभा राहणार आहे. या लाटेत लहान मुलांना संसर्ग अधिक होण्याची शक्यता केंद्र सरकारच्या सल्लागारांनी वर्तवली आहे. त्यामुळे पालकांची चिंता वाढली आहे. 18 ते 44 वर्षे वयोगटातील लोकांनाही कोरोना प्रतिबंधक लस टोचली जात आहे. देशात अद्याप लहान मुलांसाठी कोरोना प्रतिबंधक लस उपलब्ध झालेली नाही. त्यामुळे कोरोनाच्या तिसऱ्या लाटेत लहान मुलांना सर्वाधिक धोका आहे.

राजस्थानमधील अजमेर शहरातील एक धक्कादायक घटना समोर आली आहे. अजमेरमध्ये राहणाऱ्या एका युवकाने परिवार सेवा अंतर्गत नसबंदी केली होती. मात्र त्यानंतर 4 महिन्याने त्याची पत्नी गर्भवती झाल्याचा प्रकार समोर आला. पत्नी गर्भवती झाल्यानंतर युवकाने पुन्हा त्याची तपासणी केली, पण डॉक्टरांनी त्याला नसबंदी यशस्वी झाली असल्याचे सांगितले. डॉक्टरांच्या सांगण्याने कुटुंबात आणखी तणाव वाढला.

सदर घडलेला प्रकारामुळे संबंधित महिलेचा पतीच्या कुटुंबियांनी छळ सुरु केला. शेवटी त्या महिलेने जिल्हा अधिकारी आरती डोगरा यांना घडलेली घटना सांगितली. यानंतर आरती डोगरा यांनी सर्व गोष्टी आणि कुटुंबातील तणाव समजून तो दूर करण्याचा प्रयत्न केला. तसेच या सर्व प्रकरणाचा तपास करण्यास सुरुवात केली.

संबंधित महिलेने डीएनए (DNA) तपासणी करण्यास देखील तयार असल्याचे सांगितले. तपासणीला वेग आला आणि या प्रकरणाला वेगळचं वळण लागलं. अधिकारी आरती डोंगरा यांनी मुख्य चिकित्सलाय आणि स्वास्थ अधिकारी डॉक्टर के. के. सोनी यांना फोन लावून याबाबत चौकशी केली तेव्हा सत्य घटना समोर आली. चौकशीत संबंधित व्यक्तीची नसबंदी डॉक्टर भगवान सिंग गहालोत यांनी केली होती. परंतु ती अयशस्वी झाली होती. डॉक्टर सोनी यांनी खुलासा केला की, शंभर केसेस पैकी एखादी केस अयशस्वी देखील होऊ शकते.

Believed to be dead, Covid positive Woman comes to life moments before cremation

Believed to be dead by the relatives, a 76-year-old woman, who was COVID positive, came to life moments before her cremation. This bizarre incident has happened in Baramati district of Pune in Maharashtra. As per a report by India Today, she came back to life just when she was taken to be cremated by her family members.

Identified as Shakuntala Gaikwad, the woman had tested positive for Covid-19 a few days ago. As per the COVID protocol, she was in home isolation but when her health condition deteriorated, her family decided to move her to a hospital in Baramati.

On May 10, she was taken to Baramati hospital in a private vehicle. However, unable to find a bed for her, the patient was made to wait in the car for hours together outside the hospital. While waiting in the vehicle, the patient fell unconscious and stopped moving. Looking at her condition, the family members assumed that the woman had died. And accordingly, they informed their relatives about the last rites in the village.

At the moment when her family members and relatives put her on the bier for the last rites, the woman came back to life and started crying and then opened her eyes. Shocked, her family took her to a hospital again. Speaking to India Today, Policeman Santosh Gaikwad confirmed that the incident had taken place at Mudhale village in Baramati. In the meantime, the woman has been admitted to the Silver Jubilee Hospital in Baramati for further treatment.

Important for people booking 2nd dose of Covishield on CoWIN portal

Wondering how long you have to wait for your 2nd dose of COVID-19 vaccine? The Centre’s self-registration app CoWIN has finally updated the information. After much debate over when to take the second vaccine shot, the CoWIN digital portal has made the requisite changes making online or on-site appointments for Covishield vaccine possible ONLY if the period after first dose for a beneficiary is at least 84 days (between 12 to 16 weeks), as approved by the Union Health Ministry.

What You Should Know About Covishield 2nd Dose
“CoWIN digital portal has been reconfigured to reflect change in dose interval of Covishield vaccine to 12-16 weeks,” the health ministry stated. Studies have revealed that the Covishield vaccine works better when the two doses are spaced further apart.

Earlier, the government had advised that the gap between two Covishield doses should be 4-8 weeks

“The changes in CoWIN platform were notified to the States/UTs during the meeting. Secretary urged the States to break the myth that CoWIN platform is biased to those abled by technology & requested them to make good use of facilitated cohort registration,” the health ministry clarified.

What if the booking is already done?
Already booked online appointments for the second dose of Covishield will remain valid and are not being cancelled by CoWIN, but the beneficiaries are advised to reschedule their appointments for a later date beyond the 84th day from the date of the first dose of vaccination.

The Central government has reiterated to the states and UTs that the online appointments booked for the second dose of Covishield prior to this change of the interval between the two doses, must be honored, and field staff instructed that, if such beneficiaries do come for vaccination, the second Covishield dose must be administered and the beneficiaries must not be turned away.

They have also been advised to undertake awareness activities to inform the beneficiaries about this change. The Covid Working Group chaired by Dr N.K. Arora had recommended an extension of the gap between the first and second doses of Covishield vaccine to 12-16 weeks.

This has been accepted by the government on May 13 and it has communicated this change to states and Union Territories, Arora said.

What about Covaxin?
There is no change in the gap between two doses of Covaxin as the vaccine has been developed in a different method. Experts have said that there is no data suggesting higher effectiveness of Covaxin, which contains a “dead virus, incapable of infecting people but still able to instruct the immune system to mount a defensive action against an infection”. Covaxin doses are given to citizens 28 days apart.

नागपूर जिल्ह्य़ात सक्रिय रुग्णांची संख्या ३० हजाराहून खाली

नागपूर : जिल्ह्य़ात करोनाचा प्रभाव ओसरत असून सलग दुसऱ्या दिवशी मृत्यू व नवीन रुग्णसंख्या कमी नोंदवली गेली आहे. २४ तासांत येथे ३० करोनाबाधित रुग्णांचा मृत्यू तर १ हजार १३३ नवीन रुग्णांची भर पडली आहे. शहरात केवळ ९ रुग्णांचा मृत्यू झाला असून ही १८ मार्च २०२१ नंतरची सर्वात कमी मृत्यूसंख्या आहे. दरम्यान, सतत नवीन रुग्णांहून करोनामुक्त अधिक असल्याने सक्रिय उपचाराधीन रुग्णांची संख्या कमी होऊन ३० हजाराहून खाली गेली आहे.

जिल्ह्य़ात १७ मार्च २०२१ रोजी १६ करोना बाधित रुग्णांचा मृत्यू झाला होता. त्यात शहरातील ८, ग्रामीणचे ५, जिल्ह्य़ाबाहेरील ३ मृत्यूंचा समावेश होता. त्यांतर १८ मार्चला जिल्ह्य़ात झालेल्या २३ मृत्यूंत शहरातील १४, ग्रामीण ६, जिल्ह्य़ाबाहेरील ३ मृत्यूंचा समावेश होता. त्यांतर जिल्ह्य़ात करोनाचा उद्रेक झाला होता. त्यामुळे सातत्याने रुग्ण वाढत असतानाच आता गेल्या काही दिवसांपासून पुन्हा नवीन रुग्ण व मृत्यू कमी होताना दिसत आहे. रविवारी २४ तासांत शहरात ९, ग्रामीण १०, जिल्ह्य़ाबाहेरील ११ असे एकूण ३० रुग्णांचा मृत्यू झाला. त्यामुळे शहरातील आजपर्यंतच्या मृत्यूची संख्या ५ हजार १२६, ग्रामीण २ हजार १७५, जिल्ह्य़ाबाहेरील १ हजार २४९ अशी एकूण ८ हजार ५५० रुग्णांवर पोहचली, तर दिवसभरात शहरात ७२६, ग्रामीण ३९६, जिल्ह्य़ाबाहेरील ११ असे एकूण १ हजार १३३ रुग्ण आढळले. त्यामुळे शहरातील आजपर्यंतच्या करोनाग्रस्तांची संख्या ३ लाख २५ हजार ७५७, ग्रामीण १ लाख ३६ हजार ५५, जिल्ह्य़ाबाहेरील १ हजार ४३१ अशी एकूण ४ लाख ६३ हजार २४३ रुग्णांवर पोहचली आहे. दरम्यान, सतत नवीन रुग्णांहून करोनामुक्त अधिक होत असल्याने शहरातील सक्रीय उपचाराधीन रुग्णांची संख्या १५ हजार १२, ग्रामीण १४ हजार ८३१ अशी एकून जिल्ह्य़ात २९ हजार ८४३ रुग्णांवर पोहचली आहे.

नवीन रुग्णांहून चौपट करोनामुक्त

शहरात दिवसभरात २ हजार ७०५, ग्रामीणला १ हजार ८१४ असे एकूण जिल्ह्य़ात ४ हजार ५१९ व्यक्ती करोनामुक्त झाले. त्यामुळे शहरातील आजपर्यंतच्या करोनामुक्तांची संख्या ३ लाख ५ हजार ८७६, ग्रामीण १ लाख १८ हजार ९७४ अशी एकूण जिल्ह्य़ात ४ लाख २४ हजार ८५० व्यक्तींवर पोहचली आहे. दरम्यान आज आढळलेल्या १,१३३ नवीन करोनाग्रस्तांच्या तुलनेत करोनामुक्तांची संख्या चार पटींहून अधिक आहे.

सकारात्मक अहवालाचे प्रमाण घटले

शहरात दिवसभरात १० हजार ६२५, ग्रामीणला ४ हजार ९३१ अशा एकूण १५ हजार ५५४ संशयित व्यक्तींनी चाचणीसाठी नमुने दिले. त्याचे अहवाल सोमवारी अपेक्षित आहे. परंतु शनिवारी तपासलेल्या ११ हजार ६११ नमुन्यांत १ हजार १३३ रुग्णांना करोना असल्याचे निदान झाले. हे सकारात्मक अहवालाचे प्रमाण ९.७५ टक्के आहे.

Post Graduate Medical seats in Maharashtra cut down by 107

National Medical Commission, the new body that has taken over after the ouster of Medical Council of India has cut down the Post Graduate medical seats in Maharashtra by 107. Of the total 107 seats, Vidarbha will be losing 15 PG seats. This will surely affect the medical sector as in medical colleges PG seats play an important role. In recent times due to not having PG department, several heads have either left the institutions or applied under Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS). This exodus of medical teachers will have the larger impact on medical education in toto. Of the 15 PG seats that the medical colleges in Vidarbha lost include Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMCH)-9, Government Medical College, Akola- 2 and Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Medical College, Amravati- 4. IGGMCH has 12 PG seats in Medicine, but it will be losing 6 seats while in Ophthalmology the seats will be reduced to 2 from 5. In GMC, Akola no seat got approval out of existing two.

In a letter written by Maharashtra University of Health Sciences to Director of Medical Education states, ‘As per the state Government directives the university has finalized seat matrix of PG seats for admission process o academic year 2021-22 as per the information furnished by the respective colleges. The PG seats few Government colleges, corporation and private medical colleges are not permitted to be filled for academic year 2021-22 by the National Medical Commission (NMC) by pointing out certain deficiencies to the National Medical Commission for its consideration. However there is no further communication from the NMC to regularise the Post Graduate seats.’ The letter further points out, ‘There is already an acute shortage of medical professionals in this current pandemic.

Against that backdrop if PG seats are decreased it would affect adversely to the state. Due to shortage of PG teachers, certain PG seats at Government, Corporation medical colleges need to be deducted in view of teachers: students ratio guidelines of NMC.’ MUHS has urges Directorate of Medical Education and Drugs Department to take up the matter with NMC. It has also made it clear that the respective medical colleges have submitted their compliance report to NMC so that no Post Graduate seats are deducted in State. Shekhar Sawarbandhe, ex-Deputy Mayor has made a scathing attack on NMC. He called the decision as strange.

He alleged that NMC has deliberately reduced the available Post Graduate seats in Maharashtra for 2021 for medical students who are working day and night in hospitals to save lives in these difficult times, as medical services are inadequate across the country. Sawarbandhe while said, “Last year, in 2020, there were 4,922 seats available for students to get admission in Maharashtra by passing the PG NEET examination.” The Commission, without considering it, took unilateral action and informed the MUHS, that the vacancies had been reduced and that this year’s admissions would be made accordingly. MSMTA Secretary Dr. Sameer Golawar too has opposed the decision and appealed the department to have a personal look into the matter

Teenage granddaughter and her boyfriend killed woman for money

Nagpur: MIDC police on Sunday claimed to have solved murder case of Vijaya Tiwalkar (62) by arresting four persons. Shockingly, the woman’s granddaughter and her boyfriend are the prime accused in the murder case. The accused are identified as Nilesh Paunikar, Aarzoo Khan, Farid Ansari, Tajir Khan, granddaughter of Vijaya and her boyfriend. The girl and her boyfriend are juveniles, MIDC police claimed. “Prima facie, six accused are involved in the murder case and the teenage granddaughter and her boyfriend are ones who planned and executed the murder for easy bucks,” claimed a police official. The girl has some psychological problems too. She left the house of her parents last year and was living with her boyfriend who is working in a manufacturing unit of wooden doors. She used to tell her boyfriend that her grandmother had lots of money and ornaments at her house.

As the duo were facing financial crunch to cope up with their financial needs, they decided to commit a theft in the house of Vijaya and roped in other accused in the crime. Before committing the crime, the girl shifted to the house of her grandmother last month in Saptak Nagar where she was living alone. The aged-woman thought that she would counsel her granddaughter and separate her from boyfriend. After living with the grandmother for 15-days, the girl again shifted to boyfriend’s house in the last week of April. While staying at the houe of grandmother, the girl did recce of the house to find exact locations of valuables and money. She returned to the house of grandmother on Wednesday at 11 pm. When the aged-woman was in fast asleep, the girl opened the door of the house at around 1 am for the accused persons. Paunikar, Farid Ansari and Tajir Khan entered the house while her boyfriend and Arzoo Khan were waiting outside the house.

The three along with the girls started searching for the valuables. Meanwhile, Vijaya woke up and was shocked after seeing youths in her two-room house. She raised an alarm and tried to push the youths from the house. Sensing trouble, one of the accused whisked out a knife and slit her throat. The woman collapsed on the ground in the pool of blood and died before she could get medical treatment. Later, the accused fled the spot with the girl after collecting gold chain, cash and other valuables. The incident came to fore on Friday when a housemaid entered the house for regular work. MIDC police rushed to the spot and started investigations.

Using technical support, the police identified some suspects and zeroed in on them. As the accused are residents of Kalamna and Yashodhara Nagar areas, the police conducted operations in the slums and nabbed four accused till Sunday. The girl and her boyfriend are absconding. A retired cook from SRPF, Vijaya was living alone at her two-room house. Her son is a constable in SRPF while two daughters are married and living in Pachpaoli area. The granddaughter is the daughter of the youngest girl of the woman. Under the guidance of Commissioner of Police (CP) Amitesh Kumar, Addl CP Dilip Zalke, DCP (Zone I) Vivek Masal, the arrest was made by Sr PI Yuvraj Hande, PI Dinesh Labde and teams of MIDC and Kalamna police stations.

Coronavirus: India records 3.11 lakh fresh cases of COVID-19

WITH 3.11 lakh fresh coronavirus infections, India saw the lowest rise in daily COVID-19 cases after a gap of 25 days, while the death toll rose to 2,70,284 with 4,077 new fatalities, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Sunday. A total of 3,11,170 new cases were reported in a day, taking India’s total tally of COVID-19 cases to 2,46,84,077. A total of 2,95,041 cases were reported in a span of 24 hours on April 21. The active cases have reduced to 36,18,458 comprising 14.66 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 84.25 per cent, the data updated at 8 am showed.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 2,07,95,335, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.09 per cent, the data stated. According to the ICMR, 31,48,50,143 samples have been tested up to May 15 with 18,32,950 samples being tested on Saturday. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday spoke to the Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Puducherry on the COVID-19 situation in the States and the UT, Government sources said.

एका पतीला त्याच्या पत्नीला खूश करणं चांगलंच महागात पडलंय. या पतीसोबत इतर चार महिलांनाही तुरूंगावारी करण्यात आली. झालं असं की, या व्यक्तीच्या पत्नीला कोरोनाची लागण झाली होती. तिची आरटीपीसीआर टेस्ट निगेटिव्ह आली. पण ती डिप्रेशनमध्ये होती. पत्नीचं टेंशन दूर करण्यासाठी पतीने घरात चक्क दारूच्या पार्टीचं आयोजन केलं. या पार्टीत त्याने मित्रांच्या चार पत्नींनाही बोलवलं होतं. सगळेजण पार्टी एन्जॉय करत होते. तेव्हा अचानक पोलीस आले आणि सर्वांना अटक केली.

ही घटना थलतेज-शिलाज रोडवरील ग्रीन एवेन्यू मेपल काउंटी-१ येथील आहे. पोलिसांनी सांगितलं की, अटक करण्यात आलेल्या पतीने सांगितले की, त्याला त्याच्या पत्नीचं टेंशन दूर करायचं होतं. म्हणून त्याने या पार्टीचं आयोजन केलं होतं.

पोलिसांना कुणी सांगितलं? पोलिसांनी सांगितलं की पार्टी अपार्टमेंटच्या जी-३०१ फ्लॅटमध्ये सुरू होती. पार्टीत एका महिलेची सर्वांनी खिल्ली उडवली. ती संतापली होती. तिने हा सगळा प्रकार फोन करून पतीला सांगितला. पत्नीची खिल्ली उडवली गेल्याने नाराज पतीने पोलीस कंट्रोल रूमला फोन केला आणि या दारूच्या पार्टीची माहिती दिली.

पोलीस रात्री पावणे नऊ वाजताच्या सुमारास इथे पोहोचले आणि सर्वांना अटक केली. अटक करण्यात आलेल्यांमध्ये पार्टी आयोजित करणारा केतन पटाडिया अडानी, अनुराधा गोयल(४०), शेफाली पांडे(३६) प्रियंका शाह(३१) आणि पायल लिंबाचिया(४०) यांचा समावेश आहे.

होस्टच्या पत्नीला अटक केली नाही केतन पटाडियाची पत्नी अमोला पटाडिया(४२) ला पोलिसांनी अटक केली नाही. कारण ती दारू प्यायली नव्हती. पोलिसांनी घटनास्थळावरून एक लीटर जॉनी वॉकर ब्लॅक लेबल व्हिस्कीची बॉटल ताब्यात घेतली. ज्यात १०० मिलिमीटर दारू शिल्लक होती. बाकी ते सगळे प्यायले होते.

जामिनावर सुटका सूत्रांनी दिलेल्या माहितीनुसार केतन पटाडिया हा हिरे व्यापारी आहे. ज्याचं ऑफिस मेमनगर फायर स्टेशनसमोर आहे. पोलिसांनी सांगितलं की, केतन पटाडिया आणि चार महिलांना अटक करण्यात आली होती. नंतर त्यांना जामिनावर सोडण्यात आले.

NIHAR, Pragati, Priyanka John, Domla, Pratibha, Nisha, Anjali, Vedanti, Madhuri, Preeti, Akanksha Thakur, Tasring, Anshu, Zeon and Onisengkom won gold medals in the 15th Maharashtra Sports Aerobics, Fitness and Hiptop Championship that concluded the other day. All the gold medal winning players are students of Shri Hanuman Vyayam Prasarak Mandal (HVPM) and they did their institution proud by winning a bagful of medals in the competition that was held at Shri Rashtrasant Janardhan Ashram, Tapovan Panchwati in Nashik.

In the competition the students won gold medal in senior categories in the following events — fitness aerobics step, aerobics and hiptop. Those students who won gold medal include Nihar, Pragati, Priyanka John, Domla, Pratibha, Nisha, Anjali, Vedanti, Madhuri, Preeti, Akanksha Thakur, Tasring, Anshu, Zeon and Onisengkom. The students were also selected for the All India National Sports Aerobics Fitness and Hiptop Championship which is going to be held in Goa. The students were coached by Secretary of HVPM Dr Madhuri Chendke and coach Pallavi Chikhalkar.
