Nagpur : In 2016, when Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced building a 701 km super highway between Nagpur and Mumbai that will cut travel time to six hours from the existing 14 hours, nobody believed that the work will ever kick off given the stiff opposition it faced with funds and land acquisition.
At present, almost 98 percent land acquisition has been completed and funds of Rs 28,000 crore are also in sight. Construction work for the road, popularly called as Samruddhi Corridor, is all set to begin.
Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) Radheshyam Mopalwar spoke to India Today TV and said that the first vehicle on this road will run by December 2020.

According to met officials a cyclonic circulation from northern Chhattisgarh to southern Telangana is causing rains and thunderstorm at isolated places.
Weather changed in city on Thursday as dark clouds covered the sky in the afternoon. Light drizzles started at around 9.30 pm last night and continued on Friday causing inconvenience to many, in particular students, working professionals and laborers.
Farmers too bear the brunt of incessant rains. Winter crops suffered damage due to unseasonal rains which increased moisture content in the air and lowered the mercury all of a sudden.
Many areas are in dark, due to the power cutoff . Technical snag due to thunderstorm caused power failure in many areas like Jafar Nagar, Anant Nagar, Yogendra Nagar, Police Line, Pension Nagar, etc. In some areas power supply was restored in the wee hours of Friday around 4 am.
Nagpur : An Australian Rotary Team (ART) is on a visit to the city as guests of Rotary Club of Nagpur South (RCNS) from January 20 to 28. Prior to the visit, a two-day Satellite (Pre-Melghat) Surgical Camp was held, which was attended by a team of doctors and Rotary members.
A special family meeting was held at the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Hall in the city. This was followed by an interaction between the members of the Australian Rotary team and members of the Nagpur Rotary Enclave at Rotary Hall, Hadas High School. During the interaction, discussions were held about Rotary projects in Australia and India and other subjects of common interests. After this interaction all the guests joined the family meeting.
A documentary of about 20-minutes filmed during the Melghat Surgical Camp by James, a professional photographer, and a Member of the ART, was screened. A ladies Makar Sankrant programme was also organised on the sidelines of the various events. The Australian delegates specially, women folk enjoyed the til gud programme and haladi kumkum.

नागपूर : चेक बाउन्स प्रकरणात न्यायालयाने सचिन जागेश्वर पाटील (रा. नरेंद्रनगर) याला तीन महिन्यांची शिक्षा व ३० लाखांचा दंड ठोठावला. दंड न भरल्यास तीन महिने अतिरिक्त शिक्षेचे निर्देशही न्यायालयाने दिले.
न्यू प्रॉस्परिटी डेव्हलपर्सचे संचालक डॉ. राजेंद्र श्यामराव पडोळे यांनी दक्षिण-पश्चिममधून २०१४मध्ये विधानसभा निवडणूक लढविली होती. याचदरम्यान त्यांची सचिनसोबत ओळख झाली. सचिनने मौजा बेसा येथील भूखंड खरेदी करण्यासाठी पडोळे यांना ३० लाख रुपये मागितले. काही रोख व उर्वरित रकमेचा धनादेश पडोळे यांनी त्याला दिला. काही दिवसांनी पडोळे यांनी सचिनला पैसे परत मागितले. त्याने पडोळे यांना ३० लाख रुपयांचा धनादेश दिला. मात्र, हा धनादेश वटला नाही. पडोळे यांनी अॅड. लुबेश मेश्राम यांच्यामार्फत न्यायालयात खटला दाखल केला. याप्रकरणाची शीतल कौल यांच्या न्यायालयात सुनावणी झाली. अॅड. मेश्राम यांनी पडोळे यांच्यावतीने न्यायालयात सबळ पुरावे सादर केले. दोष सिद्ध झाल्याने न्यायालयाने सचिनला तीन महिन्यांची शिक्षा व ३० लाखांचा दंड ठोठावला. ४० दिवसांत दंड न जमा केल्यास तीन महिने अतिरिक्त शिक्षा सुनावली. पडोळे यांच्याकडून अॅड. लुबेश मेश्राम यांनी तर सचिनकडून अॅड. अजय गंगोत्री यांनी काम पाहिले.

नागपूर : लोकसभा निवडणुकीची आचारसंहिता लागू होण्यापूर्वीच नागपूर मेट्रोच्या उद्धाटनाचा मुहूर्त साधण्याच्या दृष्टिकोनातून प्रयत्न सुरू झाले आहेत. मेट्रो रेल्वेच्या खापरी ते सीताबर्डी या १२.८७० कि़मी. रिच-१ मार्गावर मेट्रो रेल्वेचा व्यावसायिक रन फेब्रुवारीच्या अखेरीस सुरू होणार असून उद्घाटन पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांच्या हस्ते होणार आहे.
नागपूर मेट्रोने या आधीच खापरी रेल्वे स्टेशन ते साऊथ एअरपोर्ट दरम्यान मेट्रोची जॉय राईड सुरू केली होती. या मार्गावरील बहुतांश काम जमीन स्तरावरील असल्याने अवघ्या ३० महिन्यांच्या कालावधीत मेट्रो सुरू झाली होती. मात्र, एअरपोर्ट साऊथ ते सीताबर्डी दरम्यानचा ७ किलोमीटरचा मेट्रो मार्ग एलिव्हेटेड असल्याने गेल्या ४ वर्षांपासून निर्माणाचे काम सातत्याने सुरू होते.
या मार्गावरील म्हणजेच रिच-१ च्या निर्माणाचे काम जवळ-जवळ पूर्ण झाल्यानंतर आता मेट्रोच्या संचालनाचे वेध लागले आहेत. मेट्रो रेल्वेच्या खापरी ते सीताबर्डी या १२.८७०कि़मी रिच-१ मार्गावर मेट्रोचा व्यावसायिक रन फेब्रुवारीच्या अखेरीस सुरू होण्याची दाट शक्यता आहे.
खापरी ते सीताबर्डी या मार्गावर एकूण ११ स्टेशन आहेत. यामध्ये खापरी, न्यू एअरपोर्ट, एअरपोर्ट साऊथ, एअरपोर्ट, उज्ज्वलनगर, जेपी नगर, छत्रपती स्टेशन, अजनी, रहाटे कॉलनी, काँग्रेसनगर, सीताबर्डी मेट्रो स्टेशनचा समावेश आहे. सीताबर्डी ते हिंगणा मार्गावरील काम देखील अंतिम टप्यात असल्याने या मार्गावर सुद्धा मेट्रो नजीकच्या काळात धावण्याची शक्यता वाढली आहे.
नागपूर मेट्रोच्या विस्तारित डीपीआरला राज्याच्या मंत्रिमंडळाने मंजुरी दिल्यानंतर केंद्राच्या मंजुरीसाठी पुढील प्रक्रिया सुरू झाली असल्याने त्याचे देखील काम या वर्षाच्या ऑगस्ट महिन्यात सुरू होण्याची शक्यता आहे.

दीक्षाभूमीवर आयोजित पाच दिवसीय बुद्ध महोत्सव चा बुधवारी सायंकाळी शुभारंभ झाला. २७ जानेवारीपर्यंत बुद्ध संस्कृतीचे दर्शन या महोत्सवानिमित्ताने अनुभवायला मिळणार आहे. यंदा आयोजनाचे हे नववे वर्ष आहे.
यानिमित्ताने बुद्धिस्ट फ़िल्म फेस्टिव्हलचे उद्घाटन प्रसिद्ध नाटककार व चित्रपट कथालेखक शैलेश नरवड़े आणि कलादालनाचे उद्घाटन मानवाधिकार कार्यकर्त्या डॉ. विमल थोरात यांच्या हस्ते करण्यात आले. याप्रसंगी डॉ. विमल थोरात म्हणाल्या. हिंसा संपविण्यासाठी बुद्धाशिवाय दुसरा मार्ग नाही. बुद्धधम्म हा विश्वधम्म आहे. बुद्धाचे विचार हे जगाला शांतीचे विचार दाखविणारे आहेत.
शैलेश नरवडे म्हणाले,’बुद्ध महोत्सव’ बहुजन समाजामध्ये व्हायला पाहिजे. ही बहुजन समाजाची गरज आहे. या समाजाने अशा महोत्सवाला प्रोत्साहित करायला पाहिजे. याप्रसंगी पोलिस उपायुक्त नीलेश भरणे, दीक्षाभूमी स्मारक समितीचे सदस्य विलास ग़जघाटे, एन. आर. सुटे यांनीही विचार व्यक्त केले व बुद्ध महोत्सवाबद्दल कौतुकोद्गार काढले.
कार्यक्रमाचे उद्घाटन त्रिसरण पंचशीलानंतर अनिल कवडे रचित व स्वरबद्ध केलेल्या बुद्ध महोत्सवाच्या ‘थीम सॉंग’ने झाले. उद्घाटनाच्या अध्यक्षीय भाषणात डॉ. सुनील तलवारे यांनी ‘संविधानिक मूल्यांनुसार बौद्ध संस्कृतीची पुनर्स्थापना करणे’ हे महोत्सवाचे एक उद्दिष्ट असल्याचे प्रतिपादन केले. यावेळी विचारपीठावर धम्मचारी नागकेतु, दक्षिण-मध्य सांस्कृतिक केंद्राचे उपसंचालक पारखी, धम्मचारी ऋतायुष, रत्नदर्शी, साधनारत्न, धम्ममित्र भावना सोनावणे, आभा बोरकर, रितू धोंगड़े, आश्विन कापसे, डॉ. त्रिलोक हजारे आदी उपस्थित होते.
उद्घाटन सत्रानंतर सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमाचा प्रारंभ मृणाल थुलकर हिने सादर केलेल्या ‘पुष्पांजली अर्पित बुद्ध पूजा‘ या भरतनाट्यमवर आधारित नृत्याने झाला. यानंतर सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमाचे मुख्य आकर्षण होते ३०० पेक्षा अधिक शाळकरी मुलांनी एकाच वेळी गायिलेले ‘हीच आमुची प्रार्थना हेच आमचे मागणे, माणसाने माणसाशी माणसाप्रमाणे वागावे’ आणि ‘राहो सुखाने है मानव इथे’ हे मैत्रिगीत सादर केले. या गीतात शहरातील १४ शाळांतील विद्यार्थ्यांचा सहभाग होता. यावेळी या शाळांतील शिक्षक, प्राचार्य, संचालक, तसेच विद्यार्थ्यांचे पालक प्रामुख्याने उपस्थित होते. सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमाचा शेवट मॉडर्न स्कूलच्या सुंदर अशा झंकार या बँडने झाला. संचालन सरला वाघमारे यांनी केले. प्रास्ताविक प्रिया नील यांनी केले. आभार वंदना मांडवकर यांनी मानले.
नागपूर : न्यू मनीषनगरमधील जयंती मेन्शन नऊमध्ये चोरट्यांची हैदोस घालून एकाच दिवशी चार फ्लॅट फोडले. चोरट्यांनी दागिन्यांसह लाखोंचा ऐवज लंपास केला. या घटनेने परिसरातील रहिवाशांमध्ये भीतीचे वातावरण आहे.
न्यू मनीषनगर मधील प्रभुनगरमध्ये जयंती मेन्शन नऊ आहे. मंगळवारी रात्री अपार्टमेंटमधील फ्लॅट क्रमांक ए ६०३, ५०१, बी ३०५ व ९०३ या फ्लॅटच्या दरवाजाचे कुलूप तोडून चोरट्यांनी दागिन्यांसह लाखोंचा ऐवज चोरी केला. बुधवारी सकाळी या घटना समोर आल्या.
सोसायटीचे सचिव युवराज पांढरीपांडे यांनी बेलतरोडी पोलिसांना माहिती दिली. पोलिसांचा ताफा तेथे पोहोचला. पोलिसांनी घरफोडीचा गुन्हा दाखल केला. अपार्टमेंटमध्ये सीसीटीव्ही व सुरक्षारक्षकही तैनात आहे. असे असतानाही एकाच दिवशी चार फ्लॅटमध्ये घरफोडी झाल्याने आश्चर्य व्यक्त करण्यात येत आहे. सीसीटीव्ही फूटेजवरून पोलिस घरफोड्यांचा शोध घेत आहेत. चारही फ्लॅटधारक बाहेरगावी आहेत. त्यामुळे घरफोडीत किती रक्कम व दागिने चोरी गेले याची माहिती मिळू शकली नाही.
Nagpur : Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has issued seizure notice to INOX, Wardhaman Nagar for defaulting Rs 33 crore against Property Tax.
If the company failed to pay the dues, then the local body will start process of auction of the property. Emphasising on recovery of Property Tax dues, the civic body has also issued notice to Multimodal International Hub Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN) India Limited (MIL) for outstanding dues of Rs 12 crore. It also issued notices to VNIT for outstanding payment of Rs 15 crore and CONCOR for pending dues of Rs 18 crore of Property Tax.
Lakadganj Zone Office has confirmed that the Property Tax department of the zone had pasted the notice at INOX recently. Property Tax is pending over INOX since 2008. The owner of the property has created legal disputed regarding demand generated by the department.
Earlier, the civic body had treated it as owner occupancy property and levied only Rs 2.71 crore tax. However, then Municipal Commissioner Shyam Wardhane had reopened the case and directed to levy tax as tenant occupancy property.
Sources in NMC confirmed that Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) also raised objection over different assessments of Property Tax. However, NMC continued with the tenant occupancy assessment of the property and raised demand of Rs 33 crore including penalty. The civic body may publish a notice of auction in February to recover the dues.
Meanwhile, the local body also issued notice to MIL for payment of Rs 12 crore Property Tax. The outstanding amount is pending for last several years. The MIL has claimed for exemption from the tax as it is a special project declared by State Government. They can seek exemption under Section 129 of the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation (MMC) Act.

Deputy Mayor Deepraj Pardikar and East Nagpur MLA Krishna Khopde garlanded the statues of Subhashchandra Bose at Satranjipura and Manas Square, Sitabuldi and paid their respects to the great freedom fighter and founder of Azad Hind Sena. The leaders also recalled the contributions of Netaji at the function.
Chairman; Health Committee; NMC; Manoj Chafle, corporators Rekha Sakore, Kishore Dawale, Sanjay Katkamwar, Dhanraj Sonawane, Namdeo Raut, Rajan Narare, Sachin Gaigwadi, Ramesh Druchrani, Jambuvant Dhote, Cheten Kolte and others were prominently present on the occasion.
Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) also paid tributes to Netaji Bose. A programme was organised at MSEDCL office, Katol Road.

नागपूर : राज्य निवडणूक आयोगाच्या निर्देशानुसार २६ जानेवारी ते १० फेब्रुवारीदरम्यान राबविण्यात येणाऱ्या लोकशाही पंधरवाड्यानिमित्त सक्करदरा येथील सेवादल महिला महाविद्यालय आणि विदर्भ बुनियादी हायस्कूलच्या विद्यार्थ्यांमध्ये जनजागृती करण्यात आली.
नागपूर महानगरपालिका आणि निर्भया बेटी सुरक्षा अभियानाच्या वतीने आयोजित कार्यक्रमाचे उद्घाटन सेवादल शिक्षण संस्थेचे अध्यक्ष संजय शेंडे यांच्या हस्ते करण्यात आले. अध्यक्षस्थानी महाविद्यालयाचे प्राचार्य दादाजी कारेमोरे होते. यावेळी निर्भया बेटी सुरक्षा अभियानाचे राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष संजय कटकमवार, कमलदीपसिंग कोचर, अण्णाजी बरगट प्रामुख्याने उपस्थित होते. यावेळी लोकशाही पंधरवाड्यानिमित्त १५ दिवस नागपूर शहरातील विविध महाविद्यालयांमध्ये आणि सार्वजनिक ठिकाणी मतदार जनजागृतीचे कार्यक्रम आयोजित करण्यात येत असल्याची माहिती संजय कटकमवार यांनी दिली.
उपायुक्त नितीन कापडणीस, उपायुक्त डॉ. रंजना लाडे, सहायक आयुक्त महेश धामेचा यांच्या मार्गदर्शनात लोकशाही पंधरवाडानिमित्त ठिकठिकाणी जनजागृती करण्यात येत असल्याची माहिती त्यांनी दिली. ज्या विद्यार्थ्यांचे वय १८ वर्ष पूर्ण झाले आहे त्यांनी मतदार यादीत नाव नोंदणी करावी आणि मतदान प्रक्रियेत सहभाग घ्यावा, असे आवाहन यावेळी करण्यात आले. संस्थेचे अध्यक्ष संजय शेंडे यांनीही लोकशाही बळकट करण्यासाठी मतदार यादीत नाव नोंदविण्याचे आवाहन केले. अन्य मान्यवरांनीही यावेळी मार्गदर्शन केले.
कार्यक्रमाच्या निमित्ताने महाविद्यालयात सेल्फी कॉर्नर उभारण्यात आला होता. यासमोर विद्यार्थ्यांनी छायाचित्र काढून मतदार यादीत नाव नोंदविण्याचे आवाहन नागरिकांना केले.
नागपूर : नागपूर महानगरपालिकेच्या रुग्णालयांनी अनेक पिढ्यांना उपचार देत नवजीवन दिले आहे. एकेकाळी खासगी रुग्णालयांची एवढ्या मोठ्या प्रमाणात उपलब्धता नसताना मनपा रुग्णालयांनीच गरीब, मध्यमवर्गीय नागरिकांना संजीवनी देण्याचे महत्त्वाचे कार्य केले आहे. अनेक आयुष्य वाचविणाऱ्या या रुग्णालयांची अवस्था आता वाईट असून या रुग्णालयांचेच जीवन वाचविण्याची वेळ आली आहे. इंदिरा गांधी रुग्णालयाच्या नूतनीकरणासाठी नागपूर महानगरपालिकेने पुढाकार घेतला असून या रुग्णालयात नागरिकांना उत्तम आरोग्य सुविधा मिळाव्यात यासाठी अत्याधुनिक उपकरणे असणे आवश्यक आहे. या उपकरणासाठी राज्य शासनाकडून दोन कोटी रुपये देण्यात येईल, अशी घोषणा राज्याचे ऊर्जा व जिल्ह्याचे पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे यांनी केली.

पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे म्हणाले, प्राथमिक आरोग्य सेवा देण्यामध्ये मनपा रुग्णालयांचे महत्त्वाचे योगदान आहे. मात्र या रुग्णालयांमध्ये अत्याधुनिक सुविधा असणेही आवश्यक आहे. परिसरातील झोपडपट्टी भागातील नागरिकांच्या आरोग्याच्या सुविधेच्या दृष्टीने इंदिरा गांधी रुग्णालय सुरू करण्यात आले होते. या रुग्णालयातून पुढेही उत्तम सुविधा मिळाव्यात यासाठी नागपूर महानगरपालिकेने घेतलेल्या पुढाकाराला सहकार्य करीत शासनाकडून अत्याधुनिक उपकरणे उपलब्ध करुन देण्यात येणार आहेत. यासंबंधीची प्रक्रिया लवकरच पूर्ण होईल, असा विश्वासही पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे यांनी यावेळी व्यक्त केला.

लोकशाही पंधरवाड्यात विविध उपक्रम राबवून मतदार नोंदणीबाबत जनजागृती करण्यात येणार आहे. शहरातील विविध महाविद्यालयात मतदार नोंदणीची माहिती देणारे स्टॉल्स ठेवण्यात येणार आहे. याच ठिकाणी मतदार नोंदणीचे फॉर्मसुद्धा भरून घेण्यात येतील. मतदार नोंदणी करणाऱ्या पहिल्या शंभर विद्यार्थ्यांना जिल्हाधिकाऱ्यांच्या स्वाक्षरीचे प्रमाणपत्र देण्यात येईल. महाविद्यालयांमध्ये सेल्फी कॉर्नर उभारण्यात येईल. ‘मी मतदार यादीत नाव नोंदविणार’ असा फलक घेऊन विद्यार्थी सेल्फी काढतील. हे सेल्फी मनपाच्या अधिकृत सोशल मीडिया प्लॅटफॉर्मवर अपलोड करण्यात येतील. शहरातील व्यापारी, उद्योगपतींची बैठक घेऊन मतदार जनजागृतीसाठी आवाहन करण्यात येईल. १८ व १९ वर्षे वयोगटातील विद्यार्थ्यांची निश्चिती करून त्यांचे नाव मतदार यादीत अंतर्भूत करण्यासंदर्भात जिल्हा निवडणूक कार्यालयाशी महाविद्यालयांचा समन्वय साधण्यात येईल. महाविद्यालयीन विद्यार्थ्यांकडून शाळेच्या कमाऊंड वॉलसह मुख्य मार्गिका, शहरातील दळणवळणाच्या प्रमुख ठिकाणी मतदार जागृतीबाबत आकर्षक सचित्र संदेश रंगविण्यात येईल. मतदार यादीत महिला मतदारांची टक्केवारी कमी आहे अशा मतदान केंद्रांचा शोध घेऊन महिला मतदारांच्या नाव नोंदणीकरिता विशेष मोहीम राबविण्यात येईल. मान्यवरांच्या उपस्थितीत जनसामान्यांची ‘चुनाव पाठशाला’ आयोजित करण्यात येईल. ‘निवडणूक सुधारणा-उपाययोजना’ या विषयावर एक दिवसाचे चर्चासत्र घेण्यात येईल. शहरातील स्वयंसेवी संस्थांच्या माध्यमातून मतदार जागृती मोहीम राबविण्यात येईल. मनपाच्या अधिकृत फेसबुक पेज आणि ट्विटर हॅण्डलवर लोकशाही पंधरवाड्यादरम्यान जनजागृतीसाठी विविध क्रिएटीव्ह अपलोड करण्यात येईल. शहरातील स्मार्ट स्क्रीनवरूनही लोकांना माहिती देण्यात येईल.
पूर्वतयारी उपक्रम
नागपूर महानगरपालिकेच्या वतीने लोकशाही पंधरवाड्यानिमित्त राबविण्यात येणाऱ्या उपक्रमात नागरिकांचा सहभाग वाढावा यासाठी पूर्वतयारी म्हणून विविध उपक्रम सध्या राबविण्यात येत आहेत. फुटाळा तलाव येथे वर्ल्ड ऑरेंज फेस्टिवलदरम्यान स्वाक्षरी मोहीम, वसंतराव देशपांडे सभागृहात झालेल्या ‘युथ एम्पॉवरमेंट समीट’मध्ये मतदार जागृतीसंदर्भात स्टॉल लावण्यात आला. सेल्फी कॉर्नर तयार करून युवा वर्गाला मतदार नोंदणीबाबत सांगण्यात आले. महिला उद्योजिका मेळाव्यात स्टॉल, सेल्फी कॉर्नर, मतदार जागृतीचा संदेश असलेला बलून आकाशात सोडण्यात आला. कमला नेहरू महाविद्यालयात स्नेहमिलन कार्यक्रमात लोकशाही पंधरवाडाबाबत माहिती देण्यात आली. खासदार क्रीडा महोत्सवादरम्यान प्रताप नगर येथील समर्थ व्यायाम शाळेच्या मैदानावरही तेथे उपस्थितांना लोकशाही पंधरवाडाबाबत माहिती देण्यात आली.

Maoist militants have killed three villagers and abducted five others from Kasansur village of Gadchiroli district in Maharashtra. Bodies of the three deceased villagers were found near Kosfundi Fata on Tuesday (January 22) morning.
A banner had been put up by Maoists at the spot which read the deceased villagers were responsible for the deaths of 40 Maoist cadres who were killed in encounters. The banner put up by Maoists stated that the three had been awarded capital punishment for being police informers.
Maoists, reportedly, abducted eight villagers from Kasansur of which three were killed on suspicion of being police informers. The three deceased have been identified as Mallu Madavi, Kannu Madavi and Lalsu Kudyeti.
Fate of the remaining five villagers remains unknown while Gadchiroli police has launched a search to trace the abducted villagers.
Forty Maoists were killed in two encounters last year on April 22 and 23 in the jungles of Kasansur in Bhamragad taluka of Gadchiroli district. The encounters led to near wipe out of Maoists in the district.
Post the encounter, the central committee of banned organisation, CPI (Maoist), changed the leadership last year. Ganpati, who had been leading the central committee, was replaced by Basavraju.
Last month, Maoists had torched construction vehicles worth Rs 3 crore in the district but this incident could be the first violent act of Basavraju in Maharashtra.
Maharashtra Government, on Tuesday, issued a warning that various parts of Vidarbha region were likely to receive heavy rainfall between January 24 and January 26. Agriculture Department, taking cognisance of the warning, advised the farmers to take proper care of their agricultural produce.
In Vidarbha also, particularly the districts of Nagpur, Wardha, Bhandara, Gondia, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Yavatmal, and Amravati are more likely to receive thundershowers. “The farmers in these parts should take into account the weather warning, and cover their agricultural produce at safe place. If they have brought agricultural produce to Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee for sale, they should keep it well covered,” stated the advisory issued by Agriculture Department.
In some areas of Vidarbha, the advisory stated, the possibility of hailstorm also cannot be ruled out. Owing to cloudy sky, the maximum temperature will come down and remain below the average till January 29. Increased humidity may lead to foggy weather from January 25 to January 27. Parts of Marathwada region, and Nanded district in particular are likely to receive light showers during this period.

Maha Metro will charge minimum fare of Rs 15 for travelling a distance of first two kms of proposed Phase- II in the year 2024-2025. Recently, Maharashtra Government had decided the passenger fare of the Phase- II of the Maha Metro. The fare will be cheaper as compared to present passenger fare of Delhi Metro. The residents of rural areas will have to pay one per cent cess on stamp duty for Metro. The Government has also constituted a high power committee headed by Chief Secretary of the State for the implementation and policy decision of the project.
As per information, the Maha Metro will charge Rs 30 for travelling a distance between 2 kms and 5 kms. Presently, the Delhi Metro is charging Rs 20 for this journey. Maha Metro will provide cheaper mode of public transport to the passengers from outside Nagpur city.
State Government has recently given its nod to extend Maha Metro to provide services to the citizens of Kamptee, Hingna, Kanhana, Dattawadi areas. The Government has announced this project as ‘Vital Important Transport Project’. The Government has also sanctioned to extend Transit Oriented Development (TOD) corridor on the lines of Nagpur city in rural areas. This will help in vertical development of the area. The Government will also levy one per cent cess on stamp duty of the documents. The Government has also constituted a high power committee headed by Chief Secretary.
The members are- Principal Secretary UD (1), (2), Principal Secretary, Finance, Principal Secretary Law and Judiciary, District Collector Nagpur, NMRDA Commissioner and Managing Director of Maha Metro.
The total cost of the project is Rs 11,239 crore. The Central and State Governments will share 16.12 percent Rs 1,658 crore each while State and Central Governments will also provide soft loan of Rs 399 crore each for the project. Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) will share Rs 194 crore and Rs 5980 will be raised through soft loan from international funding agencies.
The MADC will contribute Rs 246 crore for land acquisition and rehabilitation of project affected persons while MADC will also provide Rs 682 crore as grant. The State Government will also share Rs 23 crore for paying interest on loan. The total contribution of the State Government for this project will be Rs 3202 crore.
The Phase – II covers rural parts of Nagpur district and will serve as an extension to ongoing first phase. The second phase will cater need of 8 lakh population of the district while first phase will provide services to 13.38 lakh population. The proposed phase will spread over 48.3 kms length with 35 stations. The first phase is spread over 38.215 kms with 38 stations. The Phase-2 will cover 48.3 km stretch divided into five segments — Lokmanya Nagar to Hingna, Wasudeo Nagar to Wadi, Automotive Square to Kanhan river, Prajapati Nagar to Transport Nagar, and MIHAN to Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) elevated service reservoir (ESR).
Nagpur : Apex Court sets aside HC order, allows SLPs filed by Buty family, NIT, Abhyankar Road shopkeepers and developer.In a big blow to Sitabuldi main road shopkeepers, the Supreme Court on Monday set aside the order of Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court dated September 16, 2016 and removed all legal impediments in construction of Glocal Mall in the heart of Sitabuldi.
The Apex Court while allowing the special leave petitions (SLPs) filed by landowners Buty family, Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT), developer Goel Ganga, and Abhyankar Road shopkeepers, upheld their major argument that Buty Mahal Street Scheme had merged into subsequent Development Plan and hence NIT was right in approving the layout plan.
The Apex Court bench consisting of Justice A K Sikri, Justice Ashok Bhushan and Justice M R Shah noted the inordinate delay in completion of the scheme and opposition of only 18 shopkeepers to entire project. The Supreme Court also noted anxiety of Abhyankar Road shopkeepers, who are in a lurch due to this legal battle, and totally disagreed with stance taken by the High Court virtually quashing the sanction to project. The Supreme Court has held that in case of a conflict between the Development Plan and the Town Planning Scheme, the Development Plan shall have supremacy over the scheme.
The High Court order was a major setback for the mega commercial complex spread over 8-acre land belonging to Buty family in the heart of Sitabuldi. The developer had promised to accommodate big retailers, existing shopkeepers and even hawkers along with earmerked parking for 1,500 cars, 1,800 two-wheelers, and 1,800 bicycles to revive the sagging fortunes of market, but faced stiff resistence from Sitabuldi shopkeepers.
The High Court had stated that ongoing construction of Glocal Mall, which was contrary to provisions of Buty Mahal Street Scheme by excluding internal road, would be at the sole risk of developer. The court had made it clear that layout plan sanctioned on May 15, 2012, building permit granted on June 27, 2012 and revised on December 11, 2014 were contrary to the provisions of the Scheme and also in breach of the terms of the compromise dated April 8, 2002 before the Apex Court.
The High Court had allowed petition filed by 18 prominent shopkeepers and professionals of Sitabuldi challenging the demolition notices issued to them by NIT, and held that impugned notices were based upon the sanctioned plan and the building permit, which did not contain the provision for internal road.
After widening of Abhyankar Road under IRDP, the land-owners of the area Buty family decided to develop the said property and roped in private developer. The High Court had dismissed the petition of tenant-shopkeepers. The aggrieved shopkeepers had challenged the order before the Supreme Court and later the matter was settled and a scheme in the nature of compromise with the tenants of Buty took place and it was placed before the Supreme Court on April 8, 2002. Later, a big commercial complex Glocal was floated by M/s Goel Ganga Infrastructure and Real Estate Private Ltd in which shopkeepers were accommodated and a big parking facility was promised for all shops. The petitioner-shopkeepers challenged the NIT notice and alleged that NIT was coercing them to arrive at compromise.
In its special leave petition, NIT strongly justified the construction of Glocal Mall as per sanctioned plan and stated that State Government on the request of land-owners agreed for making entire area of Buty Mahal as one single reconstituted plot to enable them to accommodate the tenants. Responsibility of making adequate arrangement for parking and widening of road was left to land-owners. The tenants in whose interest the entire scheme came to be modified have no right to insist upon the internal roads proposed in the scheme in 1964, since the reconstituted plot was in the interest of one and all.
Since Abhyankar Road itself was widened from 12 meters to 24 meters under IRDP, the purpose of internal roads felt in 1964, no longer survived as the traffic congestion was eased due to road widening. Moreover, NIT claimed, the tenants left out in 1961 scheme are also being accommodated. Existing shops are in dilapidated and shabby condition and considering the growing prosperity and importance of the city it has become necessary to provide a more sophisticated spacious, decongested shopping area to the residents in Nagpur city which would be free of traffic congestion, NIT stated while challenging the High Court’s order.
According to developer, the tenant/shopkeepers have no locus to agitate upon internal roads and he has left the front margin of 12 meters on Sitabuldi main road, front margin of 6 meters on Abhyankar Road, and 9 meters road for entry from Sitabuldi main road and tried his best to accommodate the tenant on last premium ground floor of the proposed Glocal complex. Besides, the NIT scheme formulated before MRTP Act was enacted, merged into the Development Plan sanctioned by State Government in 1976 and 2000, it was stated. The scheme has evolved from 1960 to 2015 and undergone several changes like reconstitution of single plot, accommodating tenants, widening of Abhyankar Road taking into account series of changes and development during last 55 years. However, the High Court had rejected the contention stating that evolution of the Scheme can not be ‘de hors’ (out of) the provisions of law and that after coming into force of the Development Plan, the said Scheme became non-existent or was completely eclipsed.

This is the reason, to acquire spiritual health meditation is must,” said international Rajyoga teacher, BK Shivani on Tuesday. BK Shivani was delivering a public lecture on ‘Emotional Fitness’ organised by Brahmakumaris Nagpur Centre at Harmony hall of Vishwashanti Sarovar, a new retreat centre at Jamtha.
Elaborating the importance of practicing meditation on daily basis, Shivani Didi mentioned, “The entire society is suffering from emotional illness. Stress, strain, tension, anxiety, jealousy, ego, hatred, competition etc. have grabbed the minds. The individuals are spreading the vibrations of these negative attributes. In such environment, only realizing self could help an individual to protect self from these negative vibrations. This is the reason, meditation is not an option but is necessity for an individual to live with a good health.”
Shivani Didi in her own style, catch hold the attention of audience. In a very easy and simple way she explained the principles of spirituality by giving examples from day to day life. “Physical health or disease of body is not depending on outer world. People in general and medical professionals in particular start finding solutions for the problems of their physical health in outer world. But a psychologically strong gets cured fast from even the physical ailments. Immune system of a body is nothing, but a result of mind control. This is the reason, each person should understand his own line of control,” she added.
BK Shivani pointed out, “Stability of mind is directly proportional to physical health. Mind plays an important role in creation or destruction of the environment. Instead of giving importance to physical health, people should give top priority for improving emotional health. Meditation is a process of realizing power of self and understanding the lines of control to be followed to achieve stability of mind.”
Shivani gave simple tips to audience as: “Instead of thinking ‘I don’t have time’ think ‘I have enough time.’ Don’t say ‘I am busy but say ‘I am easy’. Never say ‘I am in stress, say ‘I am happy.’ Meditation helps to improve thoughts and these positive vibrations could spread positive vibrations to cure emotional illness, she added.

नागपूर : डझनभर टोल गेट्स, पैसे भरण्यासाठी लागणाऱ्या लांबच लांब रांगा, असे चित्र नागपूर-मुंबई समृद्धी महामार्गावर दिसणारच नाही. तुम्हाला जिथे या रस्त्याहून बाहेर पडायचे, टोल गेट तिथे असेल. त्यामुळे नागपूरच्या जामठ्याहून सुटलेली तुमची गाडी कुठेही न थांबता थेट भिवंडीपर्यंत सुपरफास्ट धावू शकते. नागपूर ते औरंगाबाद अंतर तर अवघ्या तीन तासांत कापले जाणार आहे.
समृद्धी महामार्गाची निर्मिती, त्यावर आकारला जाणारा टोल यावरून राज्यभरात वेगवेगळ्या चर्चा झडत असतात. या सगळ्या प्रश्नांबाबत ‘मटा’ने रस्ते विकास महामंडळाचे व्यवस्थापकीय संचालक राधेश्याम मोपलवार यांनाच विचारणा केली, तेव्हा त्यांनी समृद्धीचा पट उलगडला. मोपलवार रामझुलाच्या उदघाटनासाठी नागपुरात आले होते. ते म्हणाले, ‘तुम्ही नागपूरहून औरंगाबादला निघालात तर तुमच्याकडून टोलचे पैसे थेट औरंगाबादमध्येच घेतले जातील. रस्त्यात कुठेच तुम्हाला थांबण्याची गरज नाही. तुम्ही जामठ्याहून जेव्हा समृद्धी महामार्गास लागाल तेव्हा तुमचे वाहन रजिस्टर होईल. तुम्ही जिथे कुठे हा रस्ता सोडाल, तेथवरचे अंतर मोजले जाईल आणि रस्त्याहून बाहेर पडले की, तुम्हाला टोल आकारला जाईल. तुमच्या वाहनाला रेडिओ फ्रिक्वेन्सी आयडेन्टिफिकेशन चिप असेल तर मग कुठेच थांबायची गरज नाही. केंद्र सरकारने वाहननिर्मिती करणाऱ्या कंपन्यांना असे तंत्रज्ञान बंधनकारक केले आहे.’
‘मुंबई-पुणे एक्स्प्रेस हायवेवर दर किलोमीटरमागे २ रुपये ८४ पैसे इतका टोल लागतो. समृद्धीसाठी तो १ रुपया ८४ पैसे प्रति किलोमिटर इतका असेल. प्रत्येक तीन वर्षांनी त्यात १८ टक्के इतकी वाढ होईल. समृद्धी महामार्गावरून जाताना वाहनधारकांना पुढची ४० वर्षे टोल द्यावा लागेल. प्रकल्पाची किंमत त्याआधीच भरून निघाली तर टोल घेणे थांबवले जाईल’, असेही मोपलवार यांनी स्पष्ट केले..
‘रस्त्यासाठी लागणारी सगळी जागा आज आमच्या ताब्यात आहे. ९० टक्के लोकांना पैसे मिळाले आहेत. दहा टक्के जे राहिले, त्यातील काहींचे कौटुंबिक वाद आहेत. काहीजण उपलब्ध नाहीत. त्या सगळ्यांचे पैसे तहसीलदारांकडे पोहोचले आहेत. ते न्यायालयाच्या माध्यमातून त्यांना दिले जातील. सिमेंट काँक्रिटचा हा रस्ता गतीने तयार होईल. इगतपुरीपर्यंतचा रस्ता २०२०मध्ये तर भिवंडीपर्यंतचा रस्ता २०२१पर्यंत पूर्ण होईल. जमीन अधिग्रहणाचे प्रश्न सुटले आहेत. १६ काँट्रॅक्टर्स कामास लागले आहेत. जवळपास ३०० किलोमीटर्सचा रस्ता तर आताही निर्विघ्न दिसतो आहे. या रस्त्याला ३ ते ९ मीटर्स उंचीची भिंत असेल, त्यामुळे कुठलेही जनावर, आगंतुक, वाहनाच्या वेगास अडथळा आणू शकणार नाहीत. वाहने किमान ८० तर कमाल १५० कि.मी. प्रतितास या वेगाने धावतील.
समृद्धी कमी खर्चात
महामार्गाला लागणारा अपेक्षित खर्च ५५ हजार ३३२ कोटी रुपये इतका आहे. प्रत्यक्षात हे काम ४२५०० कोटी रुपयांमध्येच होऊ शकेल, असा अंदाज मोपलवार यांनी व्यक्त केला आहे. ३५ हजार कोटी रस्ता बांधण्यासाठी आणि ७५०० कोटी जमीन अधिग्रहणासाठी लागणार आहेत. कर्जावरील व्याज राज्य सरकार भरणार आहे.
कोलकातापर्यंत..
महाराष्ट्रात समृद्धी मार्ग नक्कीच यशस्वी होईल. तो पुढे कोलकत्यापर्यंत पुढे जाऊ शकतो, अशी अपेक्षा मोपलवार यांनी व्यक्त केली. गोंदियापर्यंत डीपीआर तयार करण्याचे निर्देश दिले आहेत. तेथून पुढे या रस्त्याला भारत सरकारकडून पूर्णत्वास नेले जाऊ शकेल.
१९ टाउनशिप निश्चित
समृद्धीच्या शेजारी रस्ते विकास महामंडळाला २४ टाउनशिप उभारायच्या होत्या. त्यापैकी १९ ठिकाणे निश्चित झाली आहेत. नोटिफिकेशन निघाले आहे. सहा ठिकाणच्या सक्षमतेचा अभ्यास सुरू आहे. लॅण्डपुलिंग तत्त्वावर हे काम होणार आहे.
आठ लाख झाडे लावणार
रोड काँग्रेसच्या नियमांप्रमाणे एक कि.मी. रस्त्यासाठी ५८३ झाडे लावली पाहिजे. समृध्दीच्या निमित्ताने किलोमिटर मागे ६६३ झाडे लावली जात आहेत. समृध्दीसाठी ५४४ हेक्टर वनजमीन घेतली आहे, त्या बदल्यात ६०० हेक्टर जागा दिली आहे. ८ लाख झाडे लावण्यात येणार आहेत. ही संख्या तोडलेल्या झाडांच्या तुलनेत दहापट आहे.
नागपूर :नागपूर महानगरपालिका आणि ग्रीन व्हिजील फाऊंडेशनच्या वतीने वीज बचतीसंदर्भात जनजागृती करण्यासाठी प्रत्येक पोर्णिमेला ‘पोर्णिमा दिवस’ उपक्रमाचे आयोजन करण्यात येते. सोमवारी (ता. २१) पंचशील चौकात मनपा कर्मचारी आणि ग्रीन व्हिजीलच्या स्वयंसेवकांनी जनजागृती करीत अनावश्यक वीज दिवे एक तास बंद करण्याचे आवाहन करण्यात आले.
आमदार प्रा. अनिल सोले यांच्या मार्गदर्शनात नागपूर महानगरपालिकेचे विद्युत विभागाचे कार्यकारी अभियंत संजय जैस्वाल, ग्रीन व्हिजील फाऊंडेशनचे संस्थापक कौस्तभ चॅटर्जी यांच्या नेतृत्वात राबविण्यात आलेल्या उपक्रमात विद्युत विभागाचे सहायक अभियंता ए. एस. मानकर, धरमपेठ झोनचे उपअभियंता एम. एम. बेग, कनिष्ठ अभियंता जी. एम. तारापुरे, सुनील नवघरे उपस्थित होते. यावेळी ग्रीन व्हिजील फाऊंडेशनच्या स्वयंसेवकांनी पंचशील चौकातील प्रत्येक प्रतिष्ठानात जाऊन वीज बचतीबाबत जनजागृती केली.
पोर्णिमा दिवस आयोजनाबाबत माहिती दिली. नागपूर शहरात पोर्णिमा दिवस हा उपक्रम मागील काही वर्षांपासून राबविण्यात येत असून या माध्यमातून पोर्णिमेच्या दिवशी रात्री ८ ते ९ या वेळात अनावश्यक वीज दिवे बंद करावे, असे आवाहन मनपा आणि ग्रीन व्हिजीलद्वारे करण्यात येत असल्याचे स्वयंसेवकांनी व्यापाऱ्यांना सांगितले. या माध्यमातून आतापर्यंत १ लाख ३० हजार युनीट वीज बचत झाल्याची माहितीही त्यांनी दिली.
स्वयंसेवकांच्या आवाहनाला प्रतिसाद देत पंचशील चौकातील व्यापाऱ्यांनी या उपक्रमात सहभाग घेतला. एक तास वीज बंद ठेवून वीज बचतीच्या चळवळीत योगदान दिले. नागपूर महानगरपालिकेच्या विद्युत विभागाच्या वतीने परिसरातील पथदिवेही बंद करण्यात आले होते. या उपक्रमात महानगरपालिका पदाधिकारी, नगरसेवक, अधिकाऱ्यांचा सहभाग राहात असून त्यांच्या माध्यमातून हा उपक्रम आता चळवळीचे रूप घेत असल्याची माहिती ग्रीन व्हिजील फाऊंडेशनचे संस्थापक कौस्तभ चॅटर्जी यांनी यावेळी दिली.
