Science Expo- 2019 concludes with great zeal

Nagpur : The ‘Science Expo 2019’ was organised at Raman Science Centre from Jan 16 to 20th, 2019 in collaboration with 15 Scientific and Research organizations.

The Institutions such as Anthropological Survey of India, Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration & Research, Central Citrus Research Institute, Central Institute for Cotton Research, Geological Survey of India Central Region, Government Medical College & Hospital, Indian Society for Heating Refrigeration & Air-conditioning Engineers Nagpur Chapter, Jawaharlal Nehru Aluminum Research Development & Design Centre, Manganese Ore (India) Limited, Mineral Exploration Corporation Limited, National Environmental Engineering Research Institute, Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited, Raman Science Centre & Planetarium, Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology , Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) participated in the Expo.

Science Expo’, a unique event to bridge the gap between science and society, has certainly helped igniting the spark among the school and college students. It also helped student in getting information about current research happening at such research organization and make career in specific field of Science and Technology also to motivate students about the benefits of choosing science as their career.

Shri Rajiv Mishra, Chairman and Managing Director, WCL was the chief Guest while Dr. Suresh Kumar, Regional Director, Atomic Mineral Directorate for Exploration and Research, Shri Mallikarjun, HOD, Business Centre, Mineral Exploration Corporation Limited, Shri Manoj Kumar Panda, Curator were present as guests of honour for the valedictory Function on January 20 , 2019 evening.

Shri Suresh Kumar expressed his satisfaction for organizing the Science Expo in which the efforts of Scientists will be seen as fruits in coming years. He also explained the role of Atomic Mineral Directorate for exploration of Uranium.

Shri Mallikarjun also complimented the scientist from these organizations for putting their efforts to make the event a great success. Earlier Shri manoj Kumar Panda welcomed the guest of the valedictory function. The expo was visited by about 45,000 students of 356 schools, colleges and 16,500 general public.
