Nagpur : A youth, who refused to give money to his friends for liquor was attacked. The incident occurred at Ramabai Square, Wadi. The injured has been identified as Prashant Arun Selekar (24), a resident of Ramabai Square.
The names of attackers were given as Sajan Amit Tagde (24) and Swapnil Jawanjal (24) both residents of Trisharan Square, Wadi Control.
All the three are friends and consumed liquor on Sunday. In the evening both Sajan and Swapnil asked Prashant to take them for drinks. On Prashant’s refusal the duo assaulted him on his neck and stomach. Prashant is undergoing treatment at a private hospital. The two accused are absconding. Police have registered an offence under relevant sections.

PM Narendra Modi addressed students from all across the globe at an educational event ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha‘ on January 29.
Every year PM Modi interacts with students, teachers and parents ahead of board exams, entrances examination in order to help them cope with the stress. He meant that technology is a boon as well as a curse. It depends on how the child is using it.
PM Modi is perhaps the first ever PM to interact with students for their board exams and relieve their stress, he said. Last year, seven crore students had participated. I believe this year around 12 crore students will participate online, Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar said.
Nagpur : A head constable attached to Hudkeshwar police station in the city was caught red-handed by the team of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) while accepting bribe of Rs 20,000 on Tuesday morning.
According to reports, Nishant Nagulwar and Rahul Chikulwar’s car hit a youth following which an offence was registered against them. Although a compromise was sought among Nishant, Rahul and the youth hit by their car, head constable Sanjay Gaidhane demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 from Nishant and Rahul. The duo then lodged a complaint with the ACB. After verifying the complaint, senior officials of the ACB laid a trap to nab Gaidhane.
According to the trap, Nishant and Rahul reached near Nandlal Shahu Sabhagriha on Hudkeshwar Road on Tuesday morning with Rs 20,000. When they handed over the amount to Gaidhane, the ACB team hiding nearby pounced upon him and caught him red-handed accepting the bribe.
The police have registered an offence against head constable Gaidhane under relevant sections of the IPC. Further investigations are on.
Nagpur : Vidarbha Taxpayers Association (VTA) delegation led by its President J P Sharma met Raj Tilak Roushan – Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Nagpur City and submitted him suggestions with regard to ease of traffic flow at Jai Stambh Square and Ram Jhula in public interest. VTA also handed over memorandum highlighting issues which require urgent consideration for the ease of the road users.
Sharma said that from the very beginning VTA had been highlighting that the opening of Phase II of Ram Jhula will bring no relief to the Jai Stambh Traffic mess and had suggested in our 2017 representation to the State government, MSRDC and NMC that only permanent solution is by connecting divider of Ram Jhula to Kingsway, which we have observed has been done in the past few days.
Sharma said that although if this remains permanently closed then it is fine as VTA support this. But if it is again to be opened for traffic in future, then the RCC divider of Phase II which has been extended further into the Jai Stambh Square, should be reduced appropriately.
Tejinder Singh Renu, Secretary VTA, submitted that since right turn from Railway Station towards Central Avenue is closed; few road users travel wrong side from Phase I towards Mayo Hospital Square and the ‘S’ Band while descending towards east causes blind spot which may lead to serious accidents. Hence, traffic cop should be posted for few weeks on Phase I at Jai Stambh Square to control this and book those who violate the law. Similarly, traffic coming from Manas Bhawan Square moves to Shreemohini (Kingsway Hospital) Square for U-turn; therefore it’s recommended that traffic movement timing from Kingsway to LIC square be increased by 15-20 seconds so that sufficient time is available for the traffic to clear.
Renu further said that service road in front of Ram Mandir on both sides should technically be one-way; however both sides’ traffic ply on these narrow service roads including buses, which mostly cause traffic jams; therefore appropriate size of ‘one-way’ and ‘no-entry’ signboards should be installed so that with time people start following it and occasionally appoint traffic police to penalise such offenders for quicker change.
Appreciating VTA’s suggestions DCP Traffic Raj Tilak Roushan assured that he will certainly consider the recommendations and assured to issue appropriate orders so that some further relief is brought to the commuters on these important stretch of the city. Also present in VTA delegation were Rajesh Kanungo and Rahul Agrawal.
New Delhi : Former Defence Minister George Fernandes passed away on Tuesday in New Delhi, according to family members. He was 88.
Mr. Fernandes had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. The family is awaiting his son Sean Fernandes’ arrival from the United States to proceed with funeral arrangements. The funeral is scheduled to be held in New Delhi.
“We are saddened to announce the passing of Shri George Fernandes early this morning. Mr. Fernandes was attended to at his home by a Max Healthcare team, which found him unresponsive and declared him dead at 06:42AM on January 29th, 2019,” Max Healthcare hospital said in a statement.
Born on June 3, 1930, Mr. Fernandes was a trade unionist, politician, journalist, agriculturist, and a member of the Rajya Sabha from Bihar.
He was a key member of the Janata Dal and founder of the Samata Party. His last stint as a parliamentarian was as a Rajya Sabha member between August 2009 and July 2010.
He was the Defence Minister in the National Democratic Alliance government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee when India fought the Kargil War in 1999. It was during his tenure that India conducted A nuclear test at Pokhran in 1998.

Nagpur : Defending champions Vidarbha will lock horns with Saurashtra in the Ranji Trophy final beginning at VCA Jamtha Stadium from February 3.

During her early lessons in music in Nagpur, young Shrinidhi Ghatate always dreamt of singing in Bollywood. As live shows at national, international level brought her fame, the gifted city singer has now earned herself a milestone by rendering a song in Kangana Ranaut-starring ‘Manikarnika’ that was released recently. Shrinidhi has given playback to the character Jhalkaribai played by Ankita Lokhande in the exuberant song ‘Dankila’. The trio of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy has scored music for the war drama.
A disciple of Shankar Mahadevan, Shrinidhi is thrilled by her Bollywood debut. ‘Dankila’ has already been praised for its melody bolstered by wonderful rendition by the Nagpur girl. However, the chance did not come easily as she had to wait for an approval for her voice as per the character’s requirement. “It was an amazing experience. First we did a scratch recording but it had to be approved by Kangana Ranaut. In a couple of days my voice got the approval and I got the song,” Shrinidhi told ‘The Hitavada’.
A graduate in psychology, Shrinidhi took her lessons in classical music from the legendary Pt Prabhakar Dhakde in Nagpur. After participating in various live shows and reality shows, her talent was spotted by Shankar Mahadevan during the ‘Asia’s Singing Superstar’. He took her under his wings and her musical journey from Nagpur to Mumbai’s stardom started. She is now a regular part of the Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy (SEL) team.
“Working with Shankar Sir is a blessing. He is so encouraging and very supporting during live shows as well as recording. Everyday we learn something new from him,” said Shrinidhi as she applauded the Padma Shri honour bestowed upon her mentor. “He (Shankar Sir) deserves Padma Shri. We all were waiting for him to get the honour. We feel lucky to work with him,” she added. Bollywood debut has come as a big confidence booster for Shrinidhi. She termed ‘Manikarnika’ as a stepping stone for a career in Mumbai.
A self-confessed fan of Asha Bhosale and Shankar Mahadevan, Shrinidhi now wants to make her other dream come true — of meeting the great Ashatai. “I am yet to meet Asha Bhosale. I am waiting for it,” said the talented Nagpur singer who one day aims to give playback to Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone.
Nagpur : Finally, Maharashtra’s Department of Medical Education and Research (DMER) has decided to put the existing process of purchase of drugs being conducted through Haffkine Bio-Pharmceutical Corporation Ltd. for Government Medical Colleges (GMCs) in State, on hold for a year. Now, DMER itself will do the drug purchase for all the GMCs. This will help in resolving the issue of drug shortage and pave way to purchase the equipment out of Rs 71 crore funds donated by Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi.
Maharashtra Government’s bid to ensure transparency in procurement of medicines for its hospitals failed to finalise the modalities leaving the patients in a lurch across the State. The decision to utilise services of Haffkine made GMCs to literally run on saline with little medicines in its kitty. To add to their woes, they borrowed the drugs from medicine companies and the dues have reached in crores.
By issuing Government Resolution (GR) in August 2017 Government asked Haffkine Institute to carry out the bulk purchases of medicines required for the public hospitals in the State and it instructed all the GMCHs not to purchase medicines or surgical items on their own. This decision created all the mess.
Though late but Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Girish Mahajan realised the depth of the issue and put the Haffkine system on hold.
Promotions to be done through selection
Taking serious cognisance of the vacancy problem, DMER first withdrew from Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) for recruitments. It formed its own panel that made new appointments of 213 which is highest in number till now in one single year. Now, it has decided to do the promotions through selection.
Shirdi Sansthan’s money to be spent
Mahajan told ‘The Hitavada’, the money that DMER received by Shirdi’s Shri Sai Sansthan Trust for purchasing the equipment would be spent soon. Due to Haffkine’s bizarre stand the money was lying with the Government and four GMCs in State could not purchase the necessary equipment. Shirdi Sansthan had donated Rs 71 crore for four GMCs
Incentives in Jivandayee schemes
It has been observed that the number of beneficiaries of Mahatma Phule Jivandayee Aarogya Yojna are more in private sector which is 86 per cent. The share of Government sector including Government Medical Hospitals is only 14 per cent. To encourage Government staff to do more cases, DMER has decided to give incentives to staff in last monsoon session of State Legislature at Nagpur. Now it has been streamlined and staff would start receiving the incentive per case.

रविवारी शहरात १४ अंश इतक्या किमान तापमानाची नोंद करण्यात आली. त्यानंतर सोमवारी पारा १०.८ वर घसरला. तसेच कमाल तापमानसुद्धा सामन्या तापमानापेक्षा ५ अंशांनी घसरले आहे. त्यामुळे सोमवारी दिवसासुद्धा थंडी जाणवत होती. नागपूरकरांनी दिवसासुद्धा गरम कपडे घालणे पसंत केले. या बदलामुळे आणि मुख्यत्वे थंड हवेमुळे आजारांमध्ये अचानक वाढ झाली आहे. सर्दी, खोकला आणि साथीचे आजार वाढले आहेत. ३० जानेवारीपर्यंत ढगाळ वातावरण राहणार असून नागरिकांनी थंडीपासून बचावासाठी योग्य ती काळजी घ्यावी, असा सल्ला डॉक्टरांनी दिला आहे. गेल्या आठवड्यात विदर्भाला अवकाळी पावसाने झोडपले.

२९ जानेवारी नागपुरात पारा चक्क ४ अंश सेल्सिअसपर्यंत घसरणार असल्याचा अंदाज बीबीसीतर्फे (ब्रिटीश ब्रॉडकास्टिंग कॉर्पोरेशन) वर्तविण्यात आला आहे. प्रादेशिक हवामान खाते तसेच केंद्रीय हवामान खात्यातर्फेसुद्धा येत्या पाच दिवसांत नागपूर तसेच विदर्भात शीत लहरीचा अंदाज व्यक्त करण्यात आला आहे. परंतु तापमान ९ अंशांपर्यंतच घसरणार असल्याचा अंदाज हवामान खात्याचा आहे. २९ डिसेंबर रोजी नागपुरातील तापमान ४ पर्यंत घसरणार असल्याचा अंदाज बीबीसीने व्यक्त केला होता. हा अंदाज खरा ठरला होता आणि तापमान ३.५ पर्यंत घसरले होते.
Nagpur : The Unit 3 of Crime Branch of Nagpur police busted a gang of vehicle lifters and recovered 27 stolen vehicles worth Rs 7,92,000 from them. This was informed by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Sambhaji Kadam at a press conference in the city on Monday evening.
The stolen vehicles recovered from the thieves included 13 Hero Honda Splendor, 6 Honda Activa, 5 Hero Honda Passion, 1 Bajaj Pulsar along with two more vehicles of Bajaj make.
The arrested were identified as Anil alias Yadav Namdev Somkunvar (38), a resident of Patansawangi, Mujaheed alias Mujju Ansari, a resident of Kabristan Road, Mominpura and Nur Mohammed alias Sallu (19), a resident of Dobinagar. The accused would steal the bikes by breaking electrical socket of the vehicle and then start it. After stealing the vehicles, they would give them to their relatives in the rural areas of Patansawangi, Saoner and Digar. None of the three have any criminal record in the past, the police said.
The police team led by DCP Kadam comprising Police Inspector Jagvendra Rajput, Assistant Police Inspector Shamrao Choudhari, Police Sub-Inspector Madhav Shinde, along with Rafiq Khan, Shailesh Patil, Vitthal Nasre, Arun Dharme, Ramchandra Karemore, Day Bisendre, Rakesh Yadav, Harish Bawane, Vikas Pathak, Badal Mandhre, Raju Potdar, Satyendra Yadav, Himanshu Patil and Naresh Deshmature arrested the trio.
The police have registered offences under relevant section against the threesome and are investigating further.
Nagpur : A Nagpur policeman who allegedly ‘showered’ cash on a group of young schoolgirls has been shunted out of his beat duty and a probe initiated, an official said here on Monday.
The incident happened on January 26, when the group of Class 6 girls of the Zilla Parishad School, Nand village, were presenting a cultural dance on a patriotic song on stage to mark the Republic Day celebrations.
A senior beat constable Pramod Walke who was on duty in the vicinity, was seen climbing onto the stage, taking a wad of currency notes, circling them in the air and showering it on the girls, shocking the audience.
Videos of the incident shot by many on their mobile phones, went viral late on Sunday prompting the girls’ parents to demand action against the policeman for the alleged indiscretion and demeaning the students, all aged around 11-12.
Confirming the incident, Nand village police station chief Santosh Vairagade said that constable Walke has submitted his explanation in the matter.
Walke defended himself saying he had gone there for crowd control, when some people — impressed by the girls’ performance collected cash and requested him to go on stage and present it to them on their behalf.

“But after stepping on the stage, the constable made the moves which were found objectionable, though his body language did not suggest vulgarity,” Vairagade told IANS.
Nevertheless, in view of the public outcry, Walke has been shifted away from his beat duty and a report submitted to Superintendent of Police (Rural) Rakesh Ola, who will take a final decision in the matter.

Kia has invested around 1.1 billion dollars in the plant to ensure the availability of best of local manufacturing, while offering technology of global standards.
The plant is also capable of producing hybrid and electric vehicles. Kia takes immense pride in the fact that the plant has the most advanced global technology such as Robotics & Artificial Intelligence and is remarkably environment friendly with capabilities like 100% water recycling within the plant. In addition to this, the company also introduced a Basic Technical Course (BTC) in automobiles for skill development to provide all the skills necessary for an entry-level job on the factory floor, in the plant. The entry in Indian market will play a crucial role complementing company’s other plants in Korea, Slovakia, China, USA and Mexico.

नागपूर – कोणत्याही उद्योगामध्ये स्थानिक भूमिपुत्रांना ८० टक्के नोकऱ्या देण्याच्या नियमांचे पालन न करणाऱ्या उद्योगांना यापुढे सरकारचे सहकार्य राहणार नाही. त्यांना दिली जाणारी प्रोत्साहने आणि परतावे रोखून धरले जातील, असा इशारा राज्याचे उद्योगमंत्री सुभाष देसाई यांनी नागपुरात दिला.
उद्योगांच्या उभारणीसाठी महाराष्ट्रात होणाऱ्या सामंजस्य करारांचे रूपांतर प्रत्यक्ष उभारणीत होण्याचे प्रमाण ८३ टक्के आहे. आम्ही आकडेवारी घेतली असता गुजरातमध्ये हेच प्रमाण २० ते ३० टक्क्यांच्या वर नाही, अशी माहितीही देसाई यांनी दिली. बाळासाहेब ठाकरे रोजगार मेळाव्याच्या निमित्ताने देसाई नागपुरात होते. राज्यात आतापर्यंत घेण्यात आलेल्या रोजगार मेळाव्यांमध्ये किमान पाच हजारांवर युवकांना थेट रोजगार मिळाला आहे, असा दावाही त्यांनी केला आहे. ते म्हणाले, गुंतवणुकीबाबत जे काही आरोप होत आहेत, ते वस्तुस्थितीला धरून नाहीत. महाराष्ट्रात गुंतवणुकीला पोषक असे वातावरण आहे. त्यामुळेच देशातील सर्वात मोठी गुंतवणूक महाराष्ट्रात होते. त्याचा थेट पुरावा म्हणजे देशात येणाऱ्या थेट परकीय गुंतवणुकीपैकी ३० टक्के एकट्या महाराष्ट्रात होते. तर देशाच्या एकूण निर्यातीत महाराष्ट्राचा टक्का ३५ टक्के आहे, असे रिझर्व्ह बँकेची आकडेवारी सांगते, असे त्यांनी सांगितले. पार्श्वभूमीवर युतीचा निर्णय पक्षप्रमुखच घेतील, असेही देसाई यांनी सांगितले.
Nagpur : Bishop of Amravati, Dr. Elias Gonsalves was installed as the Metropolitan Archbishop of Catholic Church of Nagpur at the Saint Francis de Sales Cathedral compound in Sadar on Sunday. His Eminence, Cardinal Oswald Gracias of Bombay Archdiocese officiated the ceremony. The installation ceremony: The Papal Bull (Decree from Pope Francis, the head of the Catholic Church, the world over) in this context, was read out loud in Latin by Rev. Monsignor Patrick Saw Zay Han, the First Secretary to the Apostolic Nunciature to India, Giambattista Diquattro in New Delhi. Translated versions of the same were immediately thereafter, read aloud before the congregation of over 4,000 in the Cathedral compound, in English and Hindi as well. The Bull was received by Chancellor to the Archdiocese of Nagpur, Fr. Isaac.
Archbishop designate, Dr. Gonsalves, kneeling before his Eminence Oswald Cardinal Gracias completed the ‘Profession of his Faith’ and took the ‘Oath of Fidelity’. Immediately thereafter, the new Archbishop was handed over the ‘Crozier’ and the ‘Keys of the Cathedral’ The Crozier is a symbol of bearing the responsibility of being a Shepherd for Christ and the Keys of the Cathedral bear the significance of being a good steward to Christ and the Church. Archbishop Gonsalves was then escorted to the Cathedra, (the official seat of the Archbishop) of the Archdiocese of Nagpur by Cardinal Oswald Gracias.
The near 35 minute installation ceremony concluded around 4.25 pm, with Archbishop Gonsalves being greeted by the 15 other bishops present for the installation ceremony and the concelebrated Holy Mass which continued from then on.
Archbishop Gonsalves hails from Chulne village in Palghar district of Maharashtra. He studied Philosophy and Theology at St. Pius X Seminary, Mumbai. He has a B.A. degree in History and Economics from Bombay University (1982). He has studied Community Based Development and Leadership at St. Francis Xavier’s University, Coady Institute, Canada.
Other than being the spiritual head of the Catholic Church of Nagpur as Archdiocese head, the Archbishop is also responsible for the running of around 50 educational institutions of the Catholic Archdiocese of Nagpur.
The Archbishop brings to the Archdiocese rich experience of working amidst the youth, and walking that extra mile to bring the kingdom of God on Earth as defined in the Lord’s Prayer. His motto reads: “To reconcile and unite all things in Christ.”
Nagpur : Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will perform bhoomipujan of smart city works worth Rs 3,303 crore in East Nagpur on February 2. The development works are expected to give a facelift to these backward localities of East Nagpur and make it more liveable area. Fadnavis and Gadkari will also perform bhoomipujan of Rs 100 crore works proposed under AMRUT scheme next Saturday at 4 pm.
The smart city has been proposed over 1,730 acre area of Bharatwada, Pardi, Punapur to assure a better, liveable life for the residents and to develop the existing backward areas into new ‘planned and smart’ ones. Nagpur Smart and Sustainable City Development Corporation Limited (NSSDCL) has prepared a concept plan for 1,730 acres of land under Area Based Development (ABC) approach.
Central Government had selected Nagpur for development as ‘Smart City’. It has accepted the innovative idea of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) to make the areas in East Nagpur ‘smart’ under Area Based Development (ABD) approach. The local body will get Rs 1,000 crore in five years from Central and State Governments, and Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) for development of these areas. HCP Design, Planning and Management Private Limited, Ahmedabad, has prepared a conceptual design of Smart City Project. Shapoorji Pallonji has prepared Town Planning Scheme for the project. The total cost of the proposal of ‘Smart City’ is Rs 3,400 crore.
There is absence of basic infrastructure facilities such as drainage, storm water network, solid waste management, efficient street network, and lack of public amenities, making life of residents miserable. The civic body has decided to implement the scheme by land-pooling method. The ABD approach is expected to improve the lives of 1,13,000 persons of 25,000 families in East Nagpur areas. They will get good roads, water supply, covered sewerage lines, street lights, schools, hospitals, gardens, and recreational facilities.
East Nagpur MLA Krishna Khopde stated that Chief Minister on Sunday promised him that notices issued to land owners for smart city project works would be quashed. Due to land pooling system, there is no requirement of land acquisition and 40 per cent land will be utilised for public utility works while remaining 60 per cent developed land will fetch them more profits, Khopde stated while cautioning people not to be misled by Congress leaders who are trying to obstruct this mega-development of East Nagpur for their own petty political considerations. Under AMRUT scheme, water pipe-lines worth Rs 100 crore will be laid in Pardi, Wathoda, Bhandewadi, Bharatwada, Punapur, and the area will become tanker free, Khopde stated.
नागपूर : उपराजधानीच्या तरुणांचे आवडते ठिकाण असलेल्या फुटला चौपाटीवर शनिवरी हजारो नागरिकांनी एक सूर – तालात राष्ट्रगीत म्हणून प्रजासत्ताक दिनाच्या पर्वावर तिरंग्याला एकतेची आगळी वेगळी सलामी दिली. यावेळी ढोलताशाच्या व शंखनादाच्या आवाजाने संपूर्ण फुटाळा परिसरात आसमंत निनादला.
‘एक वादळ भारताचं‘ या चळवळी तर्फे थरार राष्ट्रगीताचा या उपक्रमा अंतर्गत तरुणांनी दिल्लीच्या राजपथा ची प्रतिकृती उभारण्यात यश मिळवले. हजारो नागपूरकर या क्षणाचे साक्षी झाले.
मुख्य म्हणजे कोणताही औपचारिक कार्यक्रम न राबवता उत्स्फूर्तपणे राबविण्यात आलेल्या उपक्रमाला लोकांनी स्वतः भरभरून प्रतिसाद दिला.
सकाळी ९ वाजता ‘आम्ही मराठी’ ढोल ताशाच्या पथकाच्या गजरात अभियानाची सुरवात झाली. ढोलताशाच्या व शंखनादाच्या आवाजाने संपूर्ण फुटाळा परिसर चैतन्यपूर्ण भासत होता. सर्वत्र देशभक्तीचा उत्साह संचारला होता. सर्व भावनिक व धार्मिक ठिकाणी ध्वजवंदन व राष्ट्रगीत साजरे व्हावे यासाठी ‘एक वादळ भारतचं’ जनजागृती कार्यरत आहे. शनिवारी उपक्रमा अंतर्गत मध्यप्रदेश व महाराष्ट्र दोन्ही राज्यातील ३६ ठिकाणी या कार्यक्रमाचे आयोजन करण्यात आले. यात सहभागी होऊन लाखो नागरिकांनी राष्ट्रगीताचा थरार अनुभवला. उपक्रमासाठी विविध संस्थांचे सहकार्य लाभले.
नागपूर : आज आपल्या नागपूर शहरामध्ये अनेक विकास कामे सुरू आहेत. शहरात मेट्रोचे काम प्रगतीपथावर आहे. सर्वत्र सिमेंटचे रस्ते तयार होत आहेत. कविवर्य सुरेश भट सभागृहाच्या रूपात देशपातळीवरील सुंदर सभागृह आपल्याकडे आहे. याशिवाय शहरात स्पोर्ट्स ॲथॉरिटी ऑफ इंडियाचे मोठे स्टेडियम, सिम्बॉयसिस सारख्या मोठ्या शिक्षण संस्था येत आहे. आयआयएममुळे शहर शिक्षण आणि आरोग्य हब म्हणून पुढे येत आहे.
ई-रिक्षाने अनेकांना आत्मविश्वासाने जगण्याचे बळ दिले. यामध्ये भर घालत सांडपाण्यातून विज निर्मितीचा पथदर्शी प्रयोग आपल्याच नागपुरात सुरू आहे. ही सर्व कामे आज जगामध्ये नागपूरचे नाव उंचावत आहे. एकेकाळी जगात उल्लेखही न होत असलेले नागपूर लवकरच ‘ग्लोबल सिटी’ म्हणून जागतिक पातळीवर आपला ठसा उमटविणार आहे, असा विश्वास महापौर नंदा जिचकार यांनी व्यक्त केला.
भारतीय प्रजासत्ताक दिनाच्या वर्धापन दिनानिमित्त शनिवारी (ता.२६) नागपूर महानगरपालिकेच्या सिव्हील लाईन मुख्यालयात आयोजित ध्वजारोहण सोहळ्याप्रसंगी त्या बोलत होत्या. यावेळी मंचावर उपमहापौर दीपराज पार्डीकर, स्थायी समिती सभापती वीरेंद्र कुकरेजा, विरोधी पक्ष नेते तानाजी वनवे, आयुक्त अभिजीत बांगर, अग्निशमन व विद्युत विशेष समितीचे सभापती लहुकुमार बेहते, धरमपेठ झोन सभापती प्रमोद कौरती, नगरसेवक जितेंद्र घोडेस्वार, अतिरिक्त आयुक्त रवींद्र ठाकरे, अतिरिक्त आयुक्त राम जोशी, अतिरिक्त आयुक्त अझीझ शेख, उपायुक्त राजेश मोहिते, नितीन कापडनीस उपस्थित होते.
पुढे बोलताना महापौर नंदा जिचकार म्हणाल्या, आज देश परिवर्तनाच्या उंबरठ्यावर आहे. स्वच्छ भारत मिशन, अमृत योजना, स्मार्ट सिटी व सर्वांना घरे या उद्दीष्टांसह देशाचा विकास झपाट्याने होत आहे. या सर्व योजनांच्या यशस्वीतेसाठी नागपूर महानगरपालिका सदैव कार्यरत आहे. दुस-या टप्प्यामध्ये नागपूर शहराची स्मार्ट सिटी म्हणून निवड झाली. दुस-या टप्प्यात निवड होउनही आज आपले नागपूर शहर देशातील १०० स्मार्ट सिटीमध्ये पहिल्या क्रमांकावर आहे, ही आपल्यासाठी अभिमानाची बाब आहे.
मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस, केंद्रीय मंत्री नितीन गडकरी व पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे यांच्या पुढाकाराने शहरात सर्वत्र विकासाची कामे होत आहेत. मात्र ही विकासाची गंगा जोपर्यंत शेवटच्या व्यक्तीपर्यंत पोहचत नाही तोपर्यंत शाश्वत विकासाची संकल्पनाच पूर्ण होऊ शकणार नाही. लोकप्रतिनीधी, प्रशासन यांच्याकडून यासाठी प्रयत्न होत आहेत मात्र यासाठी लोकांनीही यामध्ये सहभागी होणे आवश्यक आहे. यासाठी ‘मेयर इनोव्हेशन अवार्ड’च्या माध्यमातून शहरातील प्रतिभावंत विद्यार्थ्यांना शहराच्या विकासात योगदान देण्याची संधी मिळणार आहे. ‘महापौर आपल्या दारी’ उपक्रमामुळे जनतेचा लोकप्रतिनिधींसह प्रशासनाशी थेट संपर्क येत असल्याने या संवादतून कामाला गती मिळत आहे. विकासाची गती पुढेही वाढत राहावे यासाठी जनसहभाग मिळविण्यासाठी सर्वांनी प्रयत्न करण्याचे आवाहनही त्यांनी यावेळी केले.

मतदार यादीत नाव नोंदवा, लोकशाही बळकट करा
भारतीय प्रजासत्ताक दिन हा लोकशाहीचा उत्सव आहे. लोकशाहीच्या बळकटीकरणासाठी सर्व मतदारांनी राष्ट्रीय कर्तव्यातून मतदानात भाग घेणे आवश्यक आहे. २६ जानेवारी ते १० फेब्रुवारी दरम्यान लोकशाही पंधरवाडा साजरा केला जात आहे. मतदान हा प्रत्येकाचा हक्क असून लोकशाहीच्या बळकटीकरणासाठी वयाची १८ वर्ष पूर्ण झालेल्या सर्व तरुण-तरुणींनी मतदार यादीत नाव नोंदविण्याचे आवाहनही महापौर नंदा जिचकार यांनी यावेळी केले. आज प्रत्येक क्षेत्रात महिला आत्मविश्वासाने पुढे येत आहेत. भारतीय संविधानाने मुळातच महिलांना सक्षम बनविले आहे फक्त महिलांनी पुढे येण्याची गरज आहे. देशासाठी मजबूत पिढी निर्माण करण्याचे सामर्थ्य महिलांमध्ये आहे. यासोबत सक्षम राष्ट्र घडविण्याचेही सामर्थ्य महिलांच्या मनगटात आहे, यासाठी महिलांनी प्रत्येक क्षेत्राप्रमाणेच लोकशाहीच्या बळकटीकरणासाठीही पुढे यावे व मतदार यादीत नाव नोंदवावे, असे आवाहन महापौर नंदा जिचकार यांनी केले.
कर्तव्यदक्ष अग्शिमन अधिकारी-कर्मचा-यांचा गौरव
शहरात विविध ठिकाणी झालेल्या आगीच्या दुर्घटनेतून नागरिकांना सुखरूप बाहेर काढून जीव वाचविणारे सीताबर्डी पोलिस स्टेशनचे हेमंतकुमार खराबे यांच्यासह मनपाचे कर्तव्यदक्ष अग्निशमन अधिकारी व कर्मचा-यांना महापौर नंदा जिचकार यांच्या हस्ते गौरविण्यात आले. यावेळी नरेंद्र नगरचे अग्निशमन केंद्र अधिकारी डी.एन. नाकोड, लकडगंजचे सहायक अग्निशमन अधिकारी राजु सिरकीवार, लकडगंजचे प्रमुख अग्निशमन विमोचक सुरेश आत्राम, यंत्र चालक अशोक घवघवे, अग्शिमन विमोचक मकरंद सातपुते, अग्निशमन विमोचक रवींद्र मरसकोल्हे, अग्निशमन विमोचक शालिक कोठे, ऐवजदार कर्मचारी मनोज गोरे, विभागीय यंत्र चालक कर्मचारी शेख अकलीम यांच्यासह कर्तव्य भावनेतून कार्य करणारे नागरिक अजय टक्कामोरे यांनाही महापौर नंदा जिचकार यांच्या हस्ते सन्मानित करण्यात आले.
महापौरांनी दिली ‘कुष्ठरोग मुक्त भारत’ची शपथ
भारत सरकारच्या प्रगती पोर्टलमध्ये राष्ट्रीय कुष्ठरोग निर्मुलन कार्यक्रमाचा समावेश करण्यात आला असून त्या अंतर्गत समाजातील कुष्ठरोगाचे प्रमाण कमी करण्यासाठी राज्यात सर्वत्र विविध अभियान राबविण्यात येत आहे. ‘स्पर्श’ कुष्ठरोग जनजागृती अभियानांतर्गत यावेळी महापौर नंदा जिचकार यांनी उपस्थितांना ‘कुष्ठरोग मुक्त भारत’ची शपथ दिली.
नागपूर : अटल आरोग्य महाशिबिराच्या माध्यमातून आरोग्याची मोठी व्यवस्था शासनाने राज्यभर उभारली. कुठलाही गरीब व्यक्ती यापुढे उपचाराविना मृत्यू पावणार नाही. महाआरोग्य शिबिरांनी राज्यात क्रांती घडविली आहे. या माध्यमातून शासनाने नागरिकांना आरोग्याचे ‘सुरक्षा कवच’ दिले आहे, असे प्रतिपादन मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांनी केले.
महाराष्ट्र शासन आणि स्व. प्रभाकरराव दटके स्मृति सेवा संस्थेच्या वतीने स्व. दिवाकरराव धाक्रस स्मृति परिसर रेशीमबाग मैदान येथे रविवारी (ता. २७) आयोजित अटल आरोग्य महाशिबिर च्या उद्घाटन कार्यक्रमात उद्घाटक म्हणून ते बोलत होते. अध्यक्षस्थानी केंद्रीय भूपृष्ठ वाहतूक मंत्री नितीन गडकरी होते. प्रमुख पाहुणे म्हणून वैद्यकीय शिक्षण मंत्री गिरीश महाजन, राज्याचे ऊर्जामंत्री तथा नागपूरचे पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे उपस्थित होते. यावेळी मंचावर खासदार डॉ. विकास महात्मे, माजी खासदार अजय संचेती, आमदार सुधाकर देशमुख, आमदार विकास कुंभारे, आमदार कृष्णा खोपडे, आमदार गिरीश व्यास, जिल्हा परिषद अध्यक्ष निशा सावरकर, उपमहापौर दीपराज पार्डीकर, मनपातील सत्तापक्ष नेते संदीप जोशी, माजी महापौर तथा अटल महाआरोग्य शिबिराचे मुख्य संयोजक नगरसेवक प्रवीण दटके, स्व. प्रभाकरराव दटके स्मृति सेवा संस्थेचे अध्यक्ष डॉ. सुभाष राऊत उपस्थित होते.
पुढे बोलताना मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस म्हणाले, वैद्यकीय मंत्री गिरीश महाजन यांनी अटल महाआरोग्य शिबिराच्या माध्यमातून राज्यभरात गोरगरीबांच्या आरोग्यासाठी कार्य केले. गरीब आणि मध्यमवर्गीयांना आरोग्याचा प्रश्न भेडसावतो आहे. रोगाचे निदान झाल्यानंतर उपचारांवर लाखोंचा खर्च होतो. पैशाअभावी अनेकजण उपचार करू शकत नाही. हेच लक्षात घेऊन राज्य सरकारने विविध योजना आणि उपक्रमांच्या माध्यमातून उपचाराचा मोफत लाभ देणे सुरू केले. राज्य सरकारने जनआरोग्य योजनेच्या माध्यमातून दीड लाख रुपयांपर्यंतचा उपचार गरीबांना दिला. प्रधानमंत्री जनआरोग्य योजनेच्या माध्यमातून पाच लाख रुपयांपर्यंतच्या उपचाराचा लाभ रुग्ण घेऊ शकतो. मुख्यमंत्री सहायता निधीसुद्धा मुख्यमंत्री कक्षाच्या माध्यमातून दिला जातो. एकट्या नागपुरात ४० कोटींची तर संपूर्ण महाराष्ट्रात आतापर्यंत ५०० कोटींची मदत मुख्यमंत्री सहायता निधीतून उपचारासाठी देण्यात आली. यापुढे कोणीही आरोग्याच्या कारणामुळे व्यथित होणार नाही, असा विश्वास मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांनी यावेळी दिला.
केंद्रीय मंत्री नितीन गडकरी यावेळी बोलताना म्हणाले, छोटूभैय्या धाक्रस आणि प्रभाकरराव दटके हे क्रियाशील आणि उत्साही कार्यकर्ते होते. त्यांच्या मार्गदर्शनाखाली आम्ही कार्य केले. या दोन्ही उत्तम कार्यकर्त्यांचा आदर्श डोळ्यासमोर ठेवून आयोजिण्यात आलेले हे शिबिर मध्य नागपुरातील लोकांसाठी उपचाराच्या दृष्टीने फायद्याचे ठरणार आहे. सुमारे ५० हजारांवर लोकांनी या शिबिराचा लाभ घेतला, याचा आपणास आनंद आहे. गरीब, दीनदुबळ्यांची सेवा करणे हे आयुष्यातल सर्वात चांगले कार्य आहे. ना. गिरीश महाजन यांनी हा यज्ञ राज्यभर केला. प्रवीण दटके यांच्यासारखे गरीबांची कणव असलेले कार्यकर्ते स्वत: पुढाकार घेऊन असे शिबिर आयोजित करून आरोग्याच्या या यज्ञात समीधा टाकण्याचे कार्य करीत असल्याचे ते म्हणाले.
वैद्यकीय शिक्षण मंत्री गिरीश महाजन म्हणाले, राज्यभरात आयोजित केलेल्या आरोग्य महाशिबिरांमुळे गोरगरीब जनतेला आधार मिळाला. एक दिवसाचे शिबिर झाले म्हणजे कार्य थांबत नाही तर पुढील चार ते सहा महिने शिबिरात उपचार घेणाऱ्या प्रत्येक रुग्णांवरील उपचाराचा पाठपुरावा करण्यात येतो. मागील १५ वर्षांत झाला नसेल इतका खर्च आरोग्यावर केवळ गेल्या चार वर्षांत मुख्यमंत्री सहायत निधीतून करण्यात आला. सामान्य माणसाला मदतीचा हात देण्याचे कार्य शासनाने केल्याचे प्रतिपादन त्यांनी केले.
प्रास्ताविका शिबिराचे मुख्य संयोजक नगरसेवक प्रवीण दटके यांनी शिबिराच्या आयोजनाबाबत माहिती दिली. मध्य नागपुरातील विविध वस्त्यांमध्ये २४ ठिकाणी १६ ते १८ जानेवारी आणि २१ ते २३ जानेवारीदरम्यान ओपीडी झाली. यामध्ये ४७ हजार नागरिकांची नोंदणी झाली. १९ हजार रुग्णांच्या विविध चाचण्या करण्यात आल्या. महाशिबिरात आलेल्या रुग्णांवर लहान शस्त्रक्रिया तातडीने तर मोठ्या शस्त्रक्रिया तारीख देऊन करण्यात येतील. या शिबिरानंतर सुमारे सहा महिने प्रत्येक रुग्णावरील उपचाराचा पाठपुरावा करून अखेरच्या रुग्णांपर्यंत लाभ देण्यात येईल. यासाठी महाल येथे स्वतंत्र कार्यालय तयार करण्यात आल्याचेही त्यांनी सांगितले.
तत्पूर्वी मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस, केंद्रीय मंत्री नितीन गडकरी, वैद्यकीय शिक्षण मंत्री गिरीश महाजन, ऊर्जामंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे यांनी दीपप्रज्वलन करून शिबिराचे विधीवत उद्घाटन केले. यानंतर अटल आरोग्य महाशिबिरात सेवा देणाऱ्या डॉक्टरांचा मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस, केंद्रीय मंत्री नितीन गडकरी यांच्या हस्ते सत्कार करण्यात आला. शिबिराच्या आयोजनासाठी परिश्रम घेणाऱ्या जी.एम. फाऊंडेशन आणि निरामय फाऊंडेशनच्या स्वयंसेवकांचाही सत्कार करण्यात आला. संपूर्ण शिबिराची धुरा सांभाळणारे रामेश्वर नाईक यांचाही यावेळी सत्कार करण्यात आला. कार्यक्रमाचे संचालन माजी नगरसेवक बंडू राऊत यांनी केले. आभार स्व. प्रभाकरराव दटके स्मृति सेवा संस्थेचे अध्यक्ष डॉ. सुभाष राऊत यांनी मानले.
सर्व विकारांवर उपचार
रेशीमबाग मैदानावर रुग्णांच्या सोयीनुसार विकारनिहाय तपासणी आणि उपचार व्यवस्था करण्यात आली होती. शिबिरात नेत्ररोग, हृदयरोग, अस्थिव्यंगोपचार, जनरल सर्जरी, मेंदूरोग, बालरोग, मुत्ररोग,प्लास्टिक सर्जरी, कान, नाक, घसा, स्त्री रोग, कर्करोग, दंतरोग या रोगांची रोगांची तपासणी, उपचार व शस्त्रक्रिया तर जनरल मेडिसीन, लठ्ठपणा यावर तपासणी व उपचार करण्यात येतील, अशी माहिती आयोजकांनीदिली.
सेवेकऱ्यांची सेवा
अटल आरोग्य महाशिबिराच्या निमित्ताने स्व. दिवाकरराव धाक्रस स्मृति परिसरात अनेक सेवेकरी रुग्णांना सेवा देत होते. रुग्णांसाठी ३० रुग्णवाहिका परिसरात फिरत होत्या. आरोग्य शिबिर संपूर्ण रेशीमबाग मैदानावर असल्यामुळे वृद्ध रुग्णांना, महिलांना एका ठिकाणाहून दुसऱ्या ठिकाणी नेण्यासाठी ४० मॅक्सीकॅबची व्यवस्था होती. मॅक्सीचे चालक संपूर्ण दिवसभर रुग्णांची ने-आण करण्यात व्यस्त होते. एका बाजूला भोजनाच्या व्यवस्थेत काही स्वयंसेवक व्यस्त होते. शिबिरात येणाऱ्या प्रत्येकाला आग्रहाने भोजन देत होते. शिबिरातील डॉक्टर, परिचारिका रुग्णांना सेवा देताना कुठेही थकले नाही. सफाई कर्मचारी परिसरात होणारा कचरा उचलत होते. आयोजकांपैकी सर्व कार्यकर्ते रुग्णांना माहिती सांगत होते आणि त्यांची मदत करीत होते.
Nagpur : The 70th Republic Day was celebrated in the city at different educational, public institutions and private organisations with patriotic fervour on Saturday.
Guardian Minister of the district Chandrashekhar Bawankule unfurled the tricolour at the main function at Kasturchand Park. He also took the guard of honour. Police and other personnel took out an impressive march past which was followed by colourful cultural programmes presented by students of different schools.
Divisional Commissioner; Sanjeev Kumar, District Collector Ashwin Mudgal, Municipal Commissioner; Abhijit Bangar, Commissioner of Police; Dr Bhushan Kumar Upadhyay, officials of various government departments besides a large number of people were present on the occasion.
Later in the day a number of groups of youth were seen moving on their two wheelers amid shouting slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai with tricolour atop their vehicles.
It was also an occasion where a large number of people visited prominent places of the city along with their family and friends. Futala Lake was one such place witnessing huge crowd with patriotic feeling at its peak.
Republic Day was also celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Regional Centre of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU, in the city. Regional Director Dr P Sivaswaroop hoisted the national flag. The programme was attended by a large number of students, besides IGNOU staff.
नागपुर : शहर के महाराजबाग चिड़ियाघर में बीमार तेंदुए की शनिवार की सुबह मौत हो गई। वह १४ साल का था, इस तेंदुए को कुछ वर्ष पहले वन विभाग ने नागपुर के महाराजबाग में प्राणि संग्रहालय में लाया गया था |
चंद्रपुर जिले के अंतर्गत आनेवाले मौजा-संराडी के ढा़बा जंगल से इस तेंदुए को वन विभाग द्वारा महाराज बाग में लाया गया था। महाराजाबाग प्राणि संग्रहालय में कुल ६ तेंदुए थे, किन्तु अब मात्र ५ तेंदुए पिंजरे में बंद हैं। उसमें से एक तेंदुआ १८ जनवरी से बीमार चल रहा था, और वह इलाज के दौरान स्लाईन पर था। शुक्रवार रात तेंदुए का स्वास्थ अचानक बिगड़ गया ।
उल्लेखनीय है, कि गत दिनोंसे तेंदुआ बैक्टीरिया के संक्रमण से प्रभावित था। इसलिए उसका क्रिएटिनिन लेवल बढ़ गया था। जिसके बाद शनिवार को तेंदुए को सांस लेने में कठिनाई हो रही थी। मृत तेंदुए का पोस्टमार्टम कर महाराजबाग प्राणि संग्राहालय के परिसर में पंच एवं वेटनरी डाक्टर के समक्ष अग्नि दी गई। डॉ. प्रशांत सोनकुसरे, डॉ.सुनील बावस्कर, डाॅ. अभिजीत मोघरे ने तेंदुए को बचाने की पूरी कोशिश की। हालांकि, तेंदुए ने बीमारी से लड़ने की कोशिश की लेकिन आखिरकार शनिवार को बीमार तेंदुए को सुबह ६.३० मृत करार कर दिया गया। महाराजबाग संग्राहालय के प्रभारी डॉ. सुनील बावस्कर, डाॅ. प्रशांत सोनकुसरे, डॉ.अभिजीत मोठघरे के मार्गदर्शन में मृत तेंदुए को महाराजबाग संग्राहालय परिसर में अग्नि देकर अंतिम बिदाई दी गई।
Nagpur : Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) in association with CREDAI, Nagpur Metro has organised a three-day property expo from January 25 to January 27 at NMC premises, Civil Lines, Nagpur.
The exhibition was inaugurated at the hands of City Mayor Nanda Jichkar in the presence of Ravindra Thakre, Additional Commissioner, Virendra Kukreja, Chairman of Standing Committee, Sandip Joshi, leader of ruling party in NMC, Anil Nair, President of CREDAI, Nagpur Metro, Gaurav Agarwala, Secretary, Abhay Gotekar, Sunil Agrawal, senior corporator, Nishant Gandhi, corporator, Lakhan Yerawar, Aziz Sheikh, Ram Joshi, Rajesh Mohite, Girish Wasnik, Mahesh Morone, Milind Meshram, Dr Sunil Kamble, Dr Pradip Dasarwar, Rajendra Uchakke, Chief Fire Officer, Ashok Kolhatkar, Sanjiv Jaiswal, Sunil Raut and others.
In her inaugural speech, Jichkar, Anil Nair and Ravindra Thakre extended their greetings to the participants in the exhibition. Affordable housing projects constructed by various builders in Nagpur is being displayed at the exhibition. The expo mainly focuses on the people belonging to the economical weaker section (EWS) and low income group (LIG).
The expo gives a wide choice of homes for the first buyers as they get to choose from a wide choice of projects by different builders. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) was launched by Prime Minister in 2015 with an aim that every family will have their own home. The exhibition is a great opportunity for the buyers to know about the projects available.
नागपूर : नक्षलवाद्यांना शस्त्रांचा पुरवठा करणाऱ्या दोघांना दहशतवादी विरोधी पथकाने (एटीएस) नागपूर मध्यवर्ती रेल्वेस्थानकावरून अटक केली. गणतंत्र दिनाच्या एक दिवसाआधी ही कारवाई झाल्याने खळबळ उडाली आहे. भविष्यात नक्षलवाद्यांना शस्त्रांचा पुरवठा करणाऱ्यांपर्यंत पोलिसांना पोहोचता येईल, अशी शक्यता व्यक्त केली जात आहे.
अटक करण्यात आलेल्यामध्ये संजय संदीपन खरे (४३) व दुसरा सुपतसिंग (४९) बिहार राज्यातील मुंगेरमधील लक्ष्मीपूर, नवागड येथील राहणारा आहे. देश व विदेशातून नक्षलवाद्यांना शस्त्रांचा पुरवठा केला जातो. नक्षलवाद्यांना जंगलापर्यंत शस्त्रे पुरवणारे अनेक दलाल आहेत. ही साखळी मोडण्यासाठी दहशतवादी विरोधी पथक त्यांच्यावर लक्ष ठेवून होते. मुंबईतील दहशतवादी विरोधी पथकाला माहिती मिळाली की बिहारमधून दोघेजण रेल्वेगाडीने नागपूरच्या दिशेने येत असून ते नक्षलवाद्यांना शस्त्र पुरवण्यासाठी जात आहेत.
या माहितीच्या आधारावर दहशतवादी विरोधी पथकाने आज शुक्रवारी सकाळपासून मध्यवर्ती रेल्वेस्थानकावर सापळा रचला. बिहारमधून येणाऱ्या रेल्वेगाडय़ांवर त्यांची नजर होती. दुपारी २ वाजताच्या सुमारास ०७०१० क्रमांकाची बराऊनी-सिकंदराबाद विशेष एक्सप्रेस फलाटावर पोहोचली.
एटीएसच्या पथकाने संशयितांचा शोध घेतला. त्यावेळी आरोपी सामान्य बोगीतून प्रवास करीत होते. त्यांना ताब्यात घेऊन झडती घेतली असता त्यांच्याकडे दोन अत्याधुनिक पिस्तूल व २० जिवंत काडतुसे सापडली. पोलिसांनी त्यांना अटक केली आहे.
दोघेही आरोपी छत्तीसगड छत्तीसगडच्या जंगलातील नक्षलवाद्यांना भेटून निघाले असल्याची माहिती आहे. ते महाराष्ट्रातील गडचिरोलीच्या जंगलात जाणार होते. नक्षलवाद्यांना शस्त्र आवडल्यास त्यांच्याकडून पैसे घेऊन ते मोठय़ा प्रमाणात शस्त्रांचा पुरवठा करणार होते, अशी माहिती समोर येत आहे.
नागपूर : सोनू… सोनू… च्या कल्लोळात तो मंचावर उतरला. ब्लू ट्राऊझरमधे अधिकच हॅण्डसम दिसणाऱ्या सोनूने गाणी म्हटली, नृत्य केले, मीमिक्री करत नागपूरकर रसिकांना ‘फुल्ल पॅकेज’ दिले. टाळ्या, शिट्या आणि मस्तीचा हा ‘बोनान्झा’ सुमारे तीस ते चार तास असाच चालत राहिला. सोनू निगमने त्याच्या चाहत्यांना आपल्या प्रत्येक अदाकारीने ‘क्रेझी’ करून सोडले.
प्रसंग होता खासदार क्रीडा महोत्सवाच्या समारोपीय कार्यक्रमाचा. शुक्रवारी मानकापूर क्रीडा संकुलात सोनू निगमला बघण्यासाठी तुफान गर्दी जमली होती. सुरुवातीपासूनच लोक ‘सोनू… सोनू…’ असा पुकारा करीत त्याची प्रतीक्षा करीत होते. अर्धा पाऊस तास चाललेल्या समारोपाचा कार्यक्रम संपेपर्यंत कशीबशी त्याच्या चाहत्यांनी तग धरली आणि परत एकदा ‘सोनू… सोनू…’चा नाद स्टेडियमभर निनादला. पडद्यावर सोनूची गाणी सुरू झाली आणि टाळ्या आणि शिट्यांची आतषबाजी झाली. पण सोनू आलाच नाही. सुरुवातीला मान्या नारंग यांनी दोन गाणी सादर केली आणि परत एकदा जल्लोष झाला.
‘क्रेझी दिल मेरा‘ हे गाणे गातच सोनू मंचावर आला आणि त्याने येताच नागपूरकरांना ‘दिवाना’ करून सोडले. पावसामुळे यशवंत स्टेडियमवरचा कार्यक्रम मानकापूर क्रीडा संकुलात स्थलांतरित करण्यात आला. यावर सोनूने ‘जगह जगह पे लिखा है गानेवाले का नाम’ अशी कोटी केली आणि एकच हशा पिकला. त्यानंतर त्याने ‘दिवाना… मै दिवाना तेरा’ हे गाणे सादर केले. त्याच्या चाहत्यांनी सुरात सूर मिसळत सोनूला कोरस दिला. त्यावर सोनू केंद्रीय मंत्री नितीन गडकरी यांना उद्देशून म्हणाला, ‘नितीनजी आप सूर में गाते है ये हमे पता था. लेकिन आपके गाववाले भी बडे सूर में गाते है.’ त्यानंतर टॉयलेट चित्रपटातील ‘हस मत पगली प्यार हो जायेगा’ हे त्याचे आवडते गीत सादर करीत ‘टॉयलेट’मधून पहिल्यांदा काहीतरी चांगले निघाले, अशी कोटी केली तेव्हा परत अख्खे स्टेडियम हास्यरंगात बुडाले.
‘तुम को देखे बिना चैन’, ‘चलते चलते मेरे गीत याद रखना’, ‘अब मुझे रात दिन’, ‘सूरज हुआ मध्धम’ अशी अनेक रोमॅण्टीक गीते एकामागोमाग एक त्याने सादर केली. ‘मेरे सपनों की रानी’ गाण्याचेही त्याने ट्रेनचा आवाजही काढला. एका गाण्यातून दुसऱ्यात लीलया फिरणारा त्याचा स्वर, त्यावर थिरकणारे त्याचे पाय, चाहत्यांशी संवाद साधण्याची शैली पाहून चाहते थक्क झालेत.
खास प्रजासत्ताक दिनाचे औचित्य साधून सोनूने ‘रंग दे बसंती चोला’ हे गाणे जोशपूर्ण आवाजात सादर केले. ‘भारतमाता की जय’ चा नारा त्याने देताचा परत एकदा स्टेडियममध्ये जयजयकार झाला. चाहत्यांकडून फर्माईश यायला लागल्या, तेव्हा त्याने ‘तुमच्या सर्व फर्माईश पूर्ण होतील, सकाळी सहा वाजेपर्यंत तुम्हाला थांबावे लागेल,’ असे म्हटले त्यालाही नागपूरकरांनी होकार दिला.

सोनू निगमसोबत सेल्फी काढायला मिळावा म्हणून लोकांची चांगलीच धडपड सुरू होते. तो मंचाच्या डाव्या बाजूला गेला की, तिकडील लोक सेल्फी मोडमध्ये जात होते. उजवीकडे आला की इकडच्या लोकांचे कॅमेरे सरसावत होते. सोनूही सेल्फी काढण्यासाठी पूर्णवेळ छान अशी पोज देत राहिला.
Vidarbha speedster Umesh Yadav claimed another five wicket haul as defending champion Vidarbha drubbed Kerala by an innings and 11 runs in Ranji Trophy semi final at Waynad in Kerala on Friday. In response to Kerala’s first innings total of 106, Vidarbha made 208 and thus took 102 runs lead.
In their second innings, Kerala batsmen again failed to face Yadav’s pace and were bowled out for 91 in 24.5 overs. Nagpur : ONE of the renowned financial advisory firms has recently announced open offer for acquisition of more than 6.5 crore shares of Indo Rama Synthetics (India) Limited from the public shareholders by Indorama Netherlands B V together with Indorama Netherlands Cooperatief U A, Indorama Ventures Global Services Limited, Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited.
The financial advisory firm – Ernst & Young – has been appointed as the ‘Manager to the Open Offer’ by Indorama Netherlands B V as required under Regulation 12(1) of Securities and Exchange Board of India (Substantial Acquisition of Shares and Takeover) Regulations, 2011.
The open offer is for acquisition of up to 6,54,36,231 shares. The fully paid-up equity shares of face value of Rs 10 each represent 24.53 per cent of the expanded voting share capital of Indo Rama Synthetics (India). Upon completion of the transaction, the Indorama Netherlands B V will be in control of the company.
The Board of Directors of the country’s largest dedicated polyester manufacturer company, on January 15, passed a resolution authorising the issuance and allotment of shares at a price of Rs 36 per equity share by way of a preferential allotment for a total consideration of Rs 298.80 crore.
As per the statement published, the fund raised will be used for long-term working capital and future growth requirements of the company.

Nagpur : Two youths allegedly gang raped a 14-year-old deaf and mute girl in Nandanvan on Wednesday afternoon. According to police, the victim’s uncle went to his brother’s house in Nandanvan to meet his relatives. As his deaf and mute niece was not seen in the house, he enquired about her.
He was told that she had gone to Vinod Narsingh Tadi’s house in same locality. He then went to Vinod’s house. He saw Vinod Tadi (19) sitting in drawing room. He asked him about his niece. Suddenly, he saw Shubham alias Hrithik Shriram Gangaboir (18), a resident of 121, Rawan Nagar, Wathoda, coming out and his niece crying.
On seeing her uncle, she explained her ordeal to him with sign language. The victim’s uncle immediately lodged a complaint with Nandanvan Police who registered an offence under Sections 376(g) of the IPC, read with Sections 4 and 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, against Vinod and Shubham. Later, cops arrested the accused youths.
