नागपूर : महाराष्ट्र शासनाचा राजपत्र दि.३० जानेवारी, २०१९ नूसार ७ वा वेतन आयोग राज्यातील सर्व कर्मचा-यांना लागू करण्याचे निर्देश प्राप्त आहे. त्यानुसार माहे फेब्रुवारी पेड इन मार्च २०१९ च्या वेतनात ७ वा वेतन आयोग नूसार शासकिय कर्मचा-यांचे पगारामध्ये सुध्दा लागू करण्यात आले आहे.
परंतू नागपूर महानगरपालिकेच्या अस्थापनेत अजूनपर्यंत लागू करण्यात आले नाही त्यामुळे सर्व अधिकारी कर्मचा-यांमध्ये नाराजी असल्याने नाकारता येत नाही.
शासन निर्णय प्रमाणे नागपूर महानगरपालिकेच्या सर्व अधिकारी/कर्मचा-यांना सुध्दा ७ वा वेतन आयोग प्रमाणे माहे जुलै पेड इन ऑगस्ट २०१९ च्या वेतनात ७ वा वेतन आयोग नूसार वेतन लागू करण्यासाठी अंदाज पत्रकात तरतुद करण्यासाठी निर्देश देण्याची कृपा करावी अशी मागणी नागपूर महानगरपालिका मागासवर्गीय कर्मचारी संघटनेतर्फे महापौर श्रीमती नंदाताई जिचकार यांना निवेदन देऊन जूलै पेड इन ऑगस्ट २०१९ च्या वेतनात सातवा आयोग लागू करण्यात यावे, अशी मागणी करण्यात आली.

Nagpur : The International Cricket Council defended the farcical finish to India’s World Cup win over Pakistan after rain left Sarfaraz Ahmed’s side with a seemingly impossible task on Sunday. Pakistan were 166 for six, chasing an initial target of 337, when rain stopped play after 35 overs. Had the match ended then, they would have lost by 86 runs under the Duckworth/Lewis method for rain-affected matches. But the umpires decided play could resume, only for Pakistan to be left needing an outlandish further 136 runs off just five more overs to reach a revised D/L winning score of 302 in 40 overs.
“Cricket is prone to farce – this is up there, this is a top five moment,” said Jonathan Agnew, the BBC cricket correspondent.
Fellow BBC radio commentator Graeme Swann also questioned the decision to leave Pakistan needing a run-rate of nearly 28 an over.

नागपूर : पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांच्या दुसऱ्या टर्ममधील पहिले संसदीय अधिवेशन दिल्लीत सुरू झाले असून, मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांच्या कार्यकाळातील शेवटचे विधानसभा अधिवेशन मुंबईत सुरू झाले. पावसाळी अधिवेशनाच्या पहिल्याच दिवशी विरोधकांनी नवनिर्वाचित गृहनिर्माणमंत्री राधाकृष्ण विखे-पाटील विधान भवनात येताच आयाराम, गयाराम, जय श्रीराम अशा घोषणा दिल्या.
राज्य मंत्रिमंडळाचा विस्तार झाल्यानंतर रविवारी सायंकाळी खातेवाटप जाहीर झाले. नवे मंत्री विधान भवनात येऊ लागल्यावर विरोधकांनी पायऱ्यांवर बसून, हाती फलक घेत घोषणाबाजी करायला सुरुवात केली. राधाकृष्ण विखे पाटील विधान भवनात येताच आयाराम, गयाराम, जय श्रीराम अशा घोषणांनी भवन परिसर दणाणून सोडला. ‘विकासाची सगळी स्वप्ने भंग, मुख्यमंत्री मंत्रिमंडळ विस्तारात दंग’, आले रे आले चोरटे आले, अशा प्रकारच्या घोषणा मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस विधिमंडळात येताच देण्यात आल्या. विरोधक आणि मुख्यमंत्री असा सामना पावसाळी अधिवेशनाच्या पहिल्याच दिवशी पाहायला मिळाला. गेली चार वर्षे विधानसभा सभागृहातील विरोधीपक्षनेतेपदी विराजमान असलेले राधाकृष्ण विखे-पाटील यांनी भारतीय जनता पक्षात प्रवेश केला. यानंतर त्यांना मंत्रिमंडळात स्थान देण्यात आल्याने ते पावसाळी अधिवेशनात सरकारी बाकांवर बसलेले दिसले.
दरम्यान, विधानसभा सभागृहात कामकाजाला सुरुवात होताच मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांनी नव्या मंत्र्यांची ओळख सभागृहाला करून दिली. यावेळी राष्ट्रवादी काँग्रेसचे नेते आणि माजी उपमुख्यमंत्री अजित पवार यांनी राधाकृष्ण विखे यांच्या मंत्रिमंडळ प्रवेशाबद्दल आक्षेप नोंदवत राधाकृष्ण विखे पाटील यांनी विरोधी पक्षनेतेपदाचा राजीनामा दिला. त्यानंतर त्यांना मंत्रिपद कसे काय दिले जाऊ शकते? एखाद्या पक्षाचा राजीनामा दिल्यानंतर दुसऱ्या पक्षात प्रवेश केल्यावर मंत्रीपद देणे योग्य आहे का?, असा प्रश्न उपस्थित केला आणि मुख्यमंत्र्यांनी उत्तर द्यावे, अशी मागणी केली. राधाकृष्ण विखे पाटील यांची निवड योग्य त्या प्रक्रियेप्रमाणेच झाली आहे, असे मुख्यमंत्री फडणवीस यांनी उत्तरादाखल स्पष्ट केले.
नागपूर : क्षुल्लक कारणावरून ऑटोचालकांनी ऑटोस्टॅण्ड चालकांची हत्या केली. ही घटना शनिवारी मध्यरात्रीनंतर एमआयडीसी पोलिस ठाण्याच्या हद्यीतील पोलिसनगरातील उडीबाबा पानठेल्याजवळ घडली. गणेश शेषराव तांदूळकर (२८, रा. वैशालीनगर) असे या मृतकाचे नाव आहे.
मोनुसिंग (३०, रा. एमआयडीसी), राकेश आणि विक्की ऑटोवाला अशी या प्रकरणातील आरोपींची नावे आहेत.
गणेश हा सीताबर्डी परिसरात ऑटोस्टॅण्ड चालवित होता. या प्रकरणातील आरोपी हे ऑटोरिक्षा चालक आहेत. हे आरोपी येथे ऑटो लावत असता. त्यामुळे आरोपी आणि मृतक यांच्यात ओळख होती. गणेशचा मित्र दिनेश अनेकदा या ऑटोस्टॅण्डवर येत असे. शनिवारी दुपारी दिनेश आणि मोनुसिंग यांच्यात भांडण झाले. धक्का लागल्यावरून हे भांडण झाले होते. दोघांच्या भांडणात गणेशने दिनेशची बाजू घेतली होती. प्रकरण तेव्हापुरते शांत झाले.
मात्र, सर्व आरोपी आणि गणेश रात्री ऑटोस्टॅण्डवरच दारू पिण्यास बसले. सगळ्यांनी दारू पिली. यावेळी गणेश आणि मोनुसिंग यांच्यात परत वाद झाला. मोनू आणि त्यांच्या मित्रांनी दारूच्या नशेत रागाचे भरात तलवारीने गणेशच्या पोटावर, छातीवर, पाठीवर वार केले. गणेश रक्त्याच्या थारोळ्यात पडला. या हल्ल्यात गणेशचा मृत्यू झाला. या प्रकरणी एमआयडीसी पोलिसांनी आरोपींवर गुन्हे दाखल करून त्यांना अटक केली आहे.

नागपूर : स्वच्छ सर्वेक्षण अभियानाच्या माध्यमातून शहराशहरांमध्ये स्वच्छतेसाठी स्पर्धा जरी घडविली जात असेल तरी स्वच्छता ही नागरिकांची सवय बनायला हवी. यासाठी यंत्रणेची जबाबदारीही तितकीच महत्त्वाची आहे. यंदाचे स्वच्छ सर्वेक्षण केवळ एक महिन्यापुरते मर्यादित नसून नऊ महिने सतत याबद्दल माहिती पाठवायची आहे. त्यामुळे जोमाने कामाला लागा. या अभियानाच्या माध्यमातून नागपूर स्वच्छ-सुंदर करा, असे निर्देश महापौर नंदा जिचकार यांनी केले.
स्वच्छ सर्वेक्षण २०२० च्या अनुषंगाने नागपूर महानगरपालिकेच्या तयारीचा आढावा घेण्यासाठी मनपा मुख्यालयातील डॉ. पंजाबराव देशमुख स्मृति सभागृहात शुक्रवारी (ता. १४) बैठकीचे आयोजन करण्यात आले होते. सदर बैठकीत त्या बोलत होत्या. बैठकीला उपमहापौर दीपराज पार्डीकर, स्थायी समितीचे सभापती प्रदीप पोहाणे, आयुक्त अभिजीत बांगर, अतिरिक्त आयुक्त राम जोशी, नगरसेवक मनोज सांगोळे, आरोग्य अधिकारी (स्वच्छता) डॉ. सुनील कांबळे, स्वच्छ भारत अभियान मनपाचे नोडल अधिकारी डॉ. प्रदीप दासरवार उपस्थित होते.
महापौर नंदा जिचकार पुढे म्हणाल्या, स्वच्छ सर्वेक्षण दरवर्षीप्रमाणे यावेळी वेगळ्या पद्धतीने आहे. स्वच्छतेचे कार्य यंत्रणेनेही जोमाने करायला हवे. नागरिकांमध्ये याविषयी मोठ्या प्रमाणात जनजागृती करणे आवश्यक आहे. यावेळी प्रथम दहा शहरांच्या यादीत नागपूर शहर यायलाच हवे, यादृष्टीने तयारी करण्याचे निर्देशही महापौर नंदा जिचकार यांनी दिले.
आयुक्त अभिजीत बांगर म्हणाले, यावर्षी स्वच्छ सर्वेक्षणअंतर्गत तीन टप्प्यात अहवाल सादर करावयाचा आहे. एप्रिल ते जून, जुलै ते सप्टेंबर आणि आक्टोबर ते डिसेंबर अशा पद्धतीने शहरातील स्वच्छताविषयक प्रगतीचा आणि कार्याचा अहवाल पाठविणे अनिवार्य आहे. कामाच्या टक्केवारीप्रमाणे एकूण ६००० गुणांपैकी १५०० गुण यावर देण्यात येतील. या गुणांच्या आधारांवर शहरांची क्रमवारी ठरविण्यात येईल. स्वच्छ सर्वेक्षणअंतर्गत जे निकष देण्यात आलेले आहेत, त्या प्रत्येक निकषांवर कार्य होणे आवश्यक आहे. घरगुती शौचालयाचे काम दहा दिवसांत पूर्ण करण्याचे निर्देश आयुक्त अभिजीत बांगर यांनी यावेळी दिले. उघड्यावर लघवी ज्या ठिकाणी नागरिक करतात त्या जागा शोधून काढण्यात याव्या आणि तेथे मुतारी बांधण्यात यावी, मोठ्या प्रमाणात कचरा निर्माण करणाऱ्या प्रतिष्ठान व मोठ्या सोसायट्यांना त्यांच्या कचऱ्याची विल्हेवाट स्वत:च लावायची आहे तर छोट्या सोसायटी आणि अन्य नागरिकांनीही आपल्या घरी निर्माण होणारा कचरा विलग करून मनपाच्या यंत्रणेकडे द्यायचा आहे. ह्या कार्यावर नियंत्रण ठेवण्याचे निर्देश आयुक्तांनी दिले.
तत्पूर्वी स्वच्छ भारत अभियानांतर्गत होणाऱ्या स्वच्छ सर्वेक्षणचे निकष काय, कुठल्या कार्यावर किती गुण देण्यात येणार आहे याबाबतची सविस्तर माहिती स्वच्छ भारत मिशन सेलचे अनित कोल्हे यांनी सादरीकरणाद्वारे दिली. बैठकीला सर्व झोनचे सहायक आयुक्त, झोनल अधिकारी आणि स्वच्छता निरीक्षक उपस्थित होते.
नागपुर : जिला परिषद के 20 तथा इससे कम विद्यार्थी संख्या वाले 12 स्कूल बंद होंगे। जिला परिषद शिक्षण समिति की बैठक में फैसले पर निर्णय लिए जाने की जानकारी प्राथमिक शिक्षणाधिकारी चिंतामण वंजारी ने दी।
निजी स्कूलों की स्पर्धा का मुकाबला करने सरकारी स्कूलों के विद्यार्थियों को विविध सुविधाएं दी जा रही हैं। इसके बावजूद जिला परिषद स्कूलाें के हालात सुधारने का नाम नहीं ले रहे हैं। कम विद्यार्थी संख्या वाले स्कूल शैक्षणिक गुणवत्ता में पिछड़ जाने से जिन स्कूलों की संख्या 20 या इससे कम है, ऐसे स्कूलों का करीब के स्कूल में समायोजन करने की शिक्षा विभाग ने नीति बनाई है।हाल ही में ऐसे स्कूलों की जानकारी मंगवाई गई थी।
राज्य सरकार को भेजी गई जानकारी में जिले के 380 स्कूलों में 20 या इससे कम विद्यार्थी संख्या का खुलासा हुआ है। सरकारी नीति के अनुसार पहले चरण में जिला परिषद के 12 स्कूलों को ताला लगाया जाएगा।
जिला परिषद स्कूलों से विद्यार्थियों का पलायन रोकने के लिए नि:शुल्क पुस्तकें, गणवेश, अनुसूचित जाति, जनजाति की छात्राओं को उपस्थिति भत्ता, मध्याह्न भोजना आदि सुविधाएं दी जा रही है। इसके बावजूद विद्यार्थियों के पलायन का सिलसिला थमने का नाम नहीं ले रहा है। हर वर्ष विद्यार्थी संख्या घटने से जिला परिषद के शिक्षा विभाग में खतरे के बादल मंडरा रहे हैं।
नागपुर : मौसम का मिजाज बदलने के साथ ही पारा नीचे आने से नागपुर समेत पूरे विदर्भ में तापमान में जबर्दस्त कमी आई है। नागपुर का अधिकतम तापमान 42 डिग्री व न्यूनतम तापमान 29.4 डिग्री सेल्सियस रहा। पश्चिमी हवा के असर के कारण तापमान में कमी आई है। सोमवार को आसमान में बादल छाए रहने व गरज के साथ हल्की बारिश होने की संभावना है।
जमीन अभी गर्म है
मौसम विभाग के अनुसार, पश्चिमी हवा से बन रहे माहौल से नागपुर समेत विदर्भ में पारा नीचे आ रहा है। इससे तापमान में कमी आ रही है। रविवार को नागपुर समेत पूरे विदर्भ में तापमान कम रहा। अगले कुछ दिनों तक इसी प्रकार तापमान रहने की संभावना जताई गई। तापमान मेंे कमी आने से गर्मी से थोड़ी राहत मिली, लेकिन जमीन गर्म होने से दिन में गर्मी का एहसास बरकरार है। शाम को तेज हवा व गरज के साथ हल्की बारिश की संभावना बरकरार है।
उमस से परेशानी रहेगी
नागपुर जिले के आस-पास कुछ स्थानों पर तेज हवा व बारिश का असर यहां के मौसम पर हुआ है। सोमवार को अधिकतम तापमान 43 डिग्री के आसपास रह सकता है। शाम होते-होते गरज के साथ बारिश होने की संभावना है। आसमान में रुक-रुककर बादल छाए रहने से तेज धूप से थोड़ी राहत मिलेगी। दो-तीन दिन तक तापमान 43 डिग्री के आसपास ही रहने की संभावना है। झुलसानेवाली धूप व गर्मी से कुछ दिन राहत मिल सकती है। उमस से परेशानी हो सकती है।
नागपूर : पूर्व नागपुरातील भांडेवाडी डम्पिंग यार्डमधील कचऱ्यामुळे अनेक समस्यांना सामोरे जाणाऱ्या परिसरातील जनतेला कचऱ्याच्या समस्येपासून आता मुक्तता मिळणार आहे. नागपूर महानगरपालिकेने कचऱ्यापासून वीज बनविण्याच्या प्रकल्पांतर्गत भांडेवाडीत कचऱ्याचे वर्गीकरण सुरू केले आहे. कचरा वर्गीकरण करणाऱ्या संयंत्राचे लोकार्पण रविवारी (ता. १६) महापौर नंदा जिचकार आणि आमदार कृष्णा खोपडे यांच्या हस्ते करण्यात आले.
या संयंत्राच्या माध्यमातून वर्गीकरण आणि प्रक्रिया करण्यात आलेल्या कचऱ्याला वीज निर्मितीसाठी जबलपूरला नेण्यात येणार आहे. लोकार्पण समारंभाला प्रमुख पाहुणे म्हणून महापौर नंदा जिचकार, आमदार कृष्णा खोपडे यांच्यासह स्थायी समितीचे सभापती प्रदीप पोहाणे, परिवहन समितीचे सभापती बंटी कुकडे, विधी समितीचे सभापती धर्मपाल मेश्राम, लकडगंज झोन सभापती राजकुमार शाहू, नेहरूनगर झोन सभापती समिता चकोले, अतिरिक्त आयुक्त अझीझ शेख, एसएनडीएलचे महाव्यवस्थापक सुनील खुराणा, नगरसेविका मनिषा कोठे उपस्थित होते.
याप्रसंगी बोलताना आमदार कृष्णा खोपडे म्हणाले, या संयंत्राच्या माध्यमातून पूर्व नागपुरातील जनतेला कचऱ्याच्या समस्येपासून मुक्त करण्यास मदत मिळेल. सोबतच वातावरणही प्रदूषणमुक्त होईल.
महापौर नंदा जिचकार म्हणाल्या, सध्या १० एकर जागेला कचरामुक्त करण्यात येईल. त्यानंतर हळूहळू संपूर्ण परिसर कचरामुक्त होईल. नागपूर महानगरपालिकेने कचऱ्यापासून वीज निर्मिती करण्याचे कंत्राट एस्सेल इंफ्राप्रोजेक्टस लिमिटेड आणि हिताची जोशैन इंडिया प्रा.लि. कंपनीला दिले आहे. यावेळी भाजयुमोचे सचिन करारे, मनोज अग्रवाल, हर्षद घाटोळे, ईएसएसईएल चे अनिलकुमार, मनपाचे कार्यकारी अभियंता अनिरुद्ध चौगंजकर, उपअभियंता प्रशांत वाघमारे, स्वच्छ भारत अभियानचे नोडल अधिकारी डॉ. प्रदीप दासरवार, झोनल अधिकारी रोहिदास राठोड, स्मार्ट सिटी प्रकल्प व्यवस्थापक माईन हसन उपस्थित होते.
नागपूर : तंबाखूजन्य पदार्थांच्या सेवनाने वाढते कॅन्सरचे (कर्करोगाचे) प्रमाण ही गांभीर्याची बाब आहे. वैद्यकीय अधिका-यांकडून समाजामधील रुग्णांच्या उपचारासह या धोकादायक आजारापासून बचावाबाबत समाजामध्ये जनजागृती व्हावी, या उद्देशासह नागपूर महानगरपालिका व टाटा ट्रस्टला सहकार्य दर्शवित अखिल भारतीय आयुर्विज्ञान संस्थान नागपूर (एम्स)ने पुढाकार घेतला आहे.
नागपूर महानगरपालिका आरोग्य विभाग व टाटा ट्रस्टच्या वतीने शनिवारी (ता.१५) मनपातील सर्व वैद्यकीय अधिकाऱ्यांसाठी तंबाखू नियंत्रणाबाबत क्षमता निर्माण कार्यशाळेचे आयोजन सिव्हील लाईनमधील हॉटेल हेरिटेज येथे करण्यात आले. भारतीय आयुर्विज्ञान संस्थान नागपूर (एम्स)च्या मेजर जनरल डॉ. विभा दत्त यांच्या मार्गदर्शनात आयोजित कार्यशाळेमध्ये प्रमुख अतिथी म्हणून मनपाचे अतिरिक्त आयुक्त राम जोशी, आरोग्य विभाग उपसंचालक डॉ. के.बी.तुमाने, आरोग्य अधिकारी डॉ. सरीता कामदार, अतिरिक्त आरोग्य अधिकारी डॉ. विजय जोशी आदी उपस्थित होते.
एकदिवसीय कार्यशाळेमध्ये सहभागी मनपाच्या सर्व वैद्यकीय अधिका-यांना यावेळी एम्सच्या सामुदायिक आरोग्य विभागाच्या (community medicine) अधिका-यांमार्फत मार्गदर्शन करून त्यांच्या शंकांचे समाधान करण्यात आले.
संपूर्ण देशासह नागपूर शहरातही तंबाखूजन्य पदार्थांचा प्रभाव वाढत आहे. त्याचा परिणाम विविध स्वरूपाच्या कॅन्सरच्या रूग्णांची संख्या वाढत आहे. या परिस्थितीमध्ये वैद्यकीय अधिका-यांनी जागरुक असणे आवश्यक आहे. रुग्णांच्या उपचारासह त्यांचे समुपदेशनही होणे महत्वाचे आहे. रुग्णांचा उपचार करून त्यांना धोकादायक आजारापासून बरे करण्यामध्ये एम्स नागपूरचे मोठे योगदान राहिले आहे. मात्र केवळ रुग्ण बरे करणे हाच उद्देश न ठेवता तंबाखूजन्य पदार्थांच्या सेवनाचे प्रमाण कमी करण्यासाठी समाजामध्ये जागरूकता निर्माण होणे आवश्यक आहे. ही जागृती निर्माण करण्यात डॉक्टरांची भूमिका महत्वाची आहे. यासाठी तंबाखूजन्य पदार्थांच्या सेवनाने होणा-या आजारावरील उपचारांसह त्याबाबत समाजात जागृती व्हावी हा उद्देश पुढे ठेवून वैद्यकीय अधिका-यांसाठी कार्यशाळा आयोजित करण्यात आली.
मोठमोठ्या आजारांसाठी रुग्णांच्या दैनंदिन सवयी कारणीभूत ठरत असतात. त्याकरीता उपचारासाठी रुग्णालयात येणा-या रुग्णांच्या सवयी विचारणे हे डॉक्टरांचे कर्तव्य आहे. मात्र अवघे ५०टक्के डॉक्टरच रुग्णांच्या सवयी विचारून त्याची नोंद घेतात. ही गरज लक्षात घेउन डॉक्टरांनी रुग्णांच्या सवयी विचारून त्या कशा धोकादायक आहेत व सोडविण्यात याव्यात यासाठी समुपदेशन होणे गरजेचे आहे. ही बाब लक्षात घेत कार्यशाळेमध्ये तज्ज्ञांमार्फत मार्गदर्शन करण्यात आले. केवळ उपचारच न करता जनजागृती करूनही व्यसनावर आळा घालण्यासाठी वैद्यकीय अधिका-यांना कार्यशाळेमध्ये प्रशिक्षण देण्यात आले.
कार्यशाळेच्या यशस्वीतेसाठी मनपा आरोग्य विभाग, टाटा ट्रस्ट व एम्सच्या सामुदायिक आरोग्य विभागाच्या सर्व वैद्यकीय अधिकारी व पदाधिका-यांनी सहकार्य केले.
Nagpur : Ahead of the State Legislative Assembly elections, Congress party’s city unit has swung into action. In a meeting held at its office in Devadiya Congress Bhavan in Mahal on Thursday, party’s leaders from the city decided to revamp city executive and also change the inactive booth-level office-bearers.
Vikas Thakre, City President of the party, presided over the meeting. Atul Londhe, State Secretary; Adv Abhijeet Wanjari; Sheikh Hussain, former City President; Yashwant Bajirao, former MLA; Naresh Gawande, former Mayor; Bunty Shelke, corporator; Dr Gajraj Hatewar, Prof Dinesh Banabakode, Bandopant Tembhurne, Jayant Lute, Ramesh Punekar, Rashmi Uikey, Darshani Dhawad, Ujjwala Bankar, Nitin Sathawane were present prominently on the occasion.
At the outset, the office-bearers took stock of the party’s performance in the recently held Lok Sabha elections. Vikas Thakre said that in Lok Sabha elections this time Congress candidate polled 1,41,000 votes more than those polled in 2014. “This is despite the fact that the ruling BJP had Chief Minister, Union Minister, 12 legislators, two Rajya Sabha members, 100 corporators from the city. Congress’ performance indicates that the people have not fallen prey to the tall claims of the ruling party that it had effected developmental works worth Rs 70,000 crore in the city,” he said.
Thakre asked Congress workers to consider the situation and start working hard for the forthcoming State Legislative Assembly elections. He hinted at formation of Assembly election committee of the party, and also to place various booths in A, B, and C categories depending upon the party’s performance and network. The inactive booth-level heads and office-bearers will be changed, he said. Also, he said, the performance of office-bearers occupying positions for years will be evaluated and city executive will be revamped accordingly. The party will plan Assembly segment-wise meets, prabhag-wise camps.
In the meeting, Thakre and other leaders asked block level heads and office-bearers to express their opinions, and put forth suggestions regarding rejuvenating the party network for State Legislative Assembly elections scheduled a few months later.
मँचेस्टर : ‘पाकिस्तानच्या महंमद आमीरविरुद्ध काळजीपूर्वक न खेळता आक्रमक व्हा,’ असा सल्ला मास्टर ब्लास्टर सचिन तेंडुलकरने भारतीय क्रिकेट संघातील फलंदाजांना दिला आहे. भारताची रविवारी वन-डे क्रिकेट वर्ल्ड कपमध्ये पाकिस्तानविरुद्ध लढत होत आहे. त्या पार्श्वभूमीवर सचिनने संघाला काही सूचना दिल्या आहेत.
ऑस्ट्रेलियाविरुद्धच्या लढतीत आमीरने पाच विकेट घेतल्या होत्या. सध्या तो पाकिस्तानचा ‘हुकमी एक्का’ ठरतो आहे. तेंडुलकर म्हणाला, ‘त्याने टाकलेले चेंडू निर्धाव खेळून काढण्याच्या नकारात्मक मानसिकतेने जायलाच नको. संधी मिळाली, तर त्याच्याविरुद्ध प्रहार करायलाच हवा. भारतीय फलंदाजांनी त्यांच्या नेहमीच्या शैलीत आणि सकारात्मक पद्धतीने खेळावे.’ मैदानावर टिकून राहण्याचा मुद्दा नाही. मात्र, वेगळा प्रयोगही करायला नको. भारताने सर्वच आघाड्यांवर आक्रमक राहिले पाहिजे. तुमची देहबोली फार महत्त्वाची आहे. तुम्ही आत्मविश्वासाने सामना केला, तर गोलंदाजालाही ते जाणवते, असे सांगायलाही तेंडुलकर विसरला नाही.

नागपूर : शिवसेना-भाजपचे सूर पुन्हा जुळल्यापासून चर्चेत असलेल्या राज्य मंत्रिमंडळाच्या विस्ताराला अखेर मुहूर्त मिळाला आहे. रविवार, १६ जून रोजी, म्हणजेच उद्या हा विस्तार होणार असल्याची माहिती खात्रीलायक सूत्रांनी दिली आहे. नव्या विस्तारात शिवसेनेला उपमुख्यमंत्रिपद मिळण्याची शक्यता आहे. त्याचबरोबर, अन्य कोणाला संधी मिळणार आणि कोण ‘वेटिंग’वर राहणार याविषयी देखील प्रचंड उत्सुकता आहे.
मागील विधानसभा निवडणुकीआधी तुटलेली सेना-भाजपची युती २०१९च्या लोकसभा निवडणुकीआधी पुन्हा झाली. त्यात राज्यातील सत्तावाटपाचं सूत्रही ठरलं आहे. त्यानुसार लगेचच महामंडळावरील नियुक्त्या करण्यात आल्या होत्या. मात्र, लोकसभा निवडणुकीमुळं मंत्रिमंडळ विस्तार लांबणीवर पडला होता. मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांनी शुक्रवारी वांद्रे येथील ‘मातोश्री’ निवासस्थानी जाऊन शिवसेना पक्षप्रमुख उद्धव ठाकरे यांच्याशी याबाबत चर्चा केली. या चर्चेअंती नव्या विस्तारावर शिक्कामोर्तब झालं. फडणवीस यांनी त्याबाबत ट्विटही केलं होतं. त्यानुसार उद्या हा विस्तार होणार आहे. या विस्तारात सेनेकडं उपमुख्यमंत्रिपद आल्यास त्या पदावर कोणाची वर्णी लागणार हे पाहावं लागणार आहे.
आशिष शेलार यांना संधी मिळणार ?
भाजपचे मुंबई अध्यक्ष आशिष शेलार यांना मंत्रिमंडळ विस्तारात स्थान मिळण्याची शक्यता आहे. शेलार यांच्या नेतृत्वाखालील भाजपनं मुंबईत चांगलाच जम बसवला आहे. महापालिकेतही भाजप स्वबळावर शिवसेनेला तोडीस तोड जागा मिळवल्या होत्या. लोकसभा निवडणुकीतही भाजप-शिवसेना युतीला शंभर टक्के यश मिळालं. यातही शेलार यांच्या संघटन कौशल्याचा वाटा असल्याचं बोललं जातं. शेलार यांचा मुख्यमंत्री फडणवीस यांच्याशी उत्तम समन्वय आहे. त्यामुळं ते मंत्रिपदाचे प्रबळ दावेदार असल्याचं मानलं जातंय.
Washington : Antarctica used to be one of the most remote destinations on travellers’ bucket lists, but there will soon be an even more exclusive club to join. Last week, NASA announced its intention to open up the International Space Station to tourists. For the last two decades, astronauts from 18 countries have lived aboard the research facility, which orbits the Earth at an altitude of about 250 miles. As early as 2020, private companies will be able to send private astronauts—or space tourists—on a vacation of a lifetime as part of an initiative to have “US industry innovation and ingenuity. accelerate a thriving commercial economy in low-Earth orbit,” according to a NASA press release.
The estimated cost of the journey is 58 million dollars for a return trip lasting 30 days, or “around 35,000 dollar a night per astronaut”, according to the agency’s financial director, Jeff DeWit. Besides transport and accommodation costs, rich tourists from Earth will have to pay out to meet their basic needs at an altitude of 400 kilometres.
According to a price list (per day, per person) published by the American space agency, bathrooms and first aid kits on board will cost 11,250 dollars; food, air and exercise equipment costs 22,500 dollars, a gigabyte of data costs 50 dollars and waste removal costs 3,000 dollars per kilo. In 2001, the first space tourist, Dennis Tito, paid Russia around 20 million dollars for the chance to see the Earth from space. Since then, seven other private guests have paid for the same opportunity. For scientists, this commercialisation means that they’ll soon be able to perform their own experiments and conduct their own research aboard the ISS without having to participate in specific NASA programmes.
नागपूर : कधी काळी नागपूरकरांच्या पिण्याच्या पाण्याचा मुख्य स्रोत असलेला गोरेवाडा तलाव प्रथमच आटला आहे. १९१२ मध्ये एक लाख नागपूरकरांसाठी हा तलाव तयार करण्यात आला होता. तलाव आटल्याने नागपूर शहरावर मोठे जलसंकटाचे सावट आहे.
तोतलाडोह आणि नवेगाव खैरी येथे पाणी असले तरी ते गोरेवाड्यातील आटलेली पाणीपातळी मोठे संकट निर्माण करीत आहे. सुमारे शंभर वर्षांपूर्वी नागपूरकरांसाठी या तलावाची निर्मिती करण्यात आली. हा तलाव कधीच आटला नव्हता. यंदा मात्र तो आटल्याने वनविभागानेही आश्चर्य व्यक्त केले आहे. गोरेवाड्याचे राउंड ऑफिसर आय. ए. जलित यांनी २०११ नंतर प्रथमच गोरेवाडा तलावाची पातळी एवढ्या खाली गेल्याचे सांगितले. तलाव आटल्याचे प्रथमच बघितल्याचेही ते म्हणाले. फॉरेस्ट रेंज ऑफिसर पांडुरंग पखाले यांनीही तलावाचा भूतल आपण प्रथमच बघत असल्याकडे लक्ष वेधले. वन्यजीव या तलावात पडू नयेत म्हणून तलावात असलेल्या विहिरी झाकून ठेवण्यात आल्याचेही त्यांनी सांगितले.
पाण्याची साठवणूक करण्यासाठी महापालिका गोरेवाडा तलावाचा वापर करते. यंदा कमी पावसामुळे तशीही या तलावाची पातळी वाढली नाही. त्यातच कडक उन्हामुळे तलावातील पाण्याचे बाष्पीभवन झाल्याने तलावच आटला. शिवाय, पेंचपासून गोरेवाडा येथील पम्पिंग स्टेशनवरून पाण्याची उचल होत असल्यानेही तलावाची पातळी आटत गेली. या तलावात कॅनलच्या माध्यमातून पेंच येथून गोरेवाडा तलावात पाणी सोडण्यात येते. आता मनपाने तोतलाडोहहून ४५ कि.मी. लांबीची पाइपलाइन टाकल्याने थेट गोरेवाडा पम्पिंग स्टेशनला पाण्याची उचल होते, याचाही मोठा फटका गोरेवाडा तलावाच्या पाणी पातळीला झाला आहे.
तलावाबाबत महत्त्वाचे
-१९१२ मध्ये १.०१ लाख नागपूरकरांसाठी या तलावाची प्राथमिक पाण्याचा स्रोत म्हणून उभारणी करण्यात आली.
-या तलावाला सीता गोंडी या नावानेही ओळखले जाते. गोंड राजाच्या काळात सीता गोंडी या आदिवासी महिलेने या तलावाचे बांधकाम केले.
-गोरेवाडा गाव वसल्यानंतर या तलावाला ‘गोरेवाडा’ या नावाने ओळखले जाऊ लागले. त्यानंतर येथे पाणीपुरवठ्यासाठी वापर होऊ लागला. अंबाझरी तलावाच्या दुप्पट म्हणजे ११ चौरस मैल असे या तलावाचे क्षेत्रफळ आहे.

नागपूर : हरित वास्तु निर्मितीमध्ये बांधकाम खर्च कमी करण्यासाठी व वास्तू आर्थिक दृष्ट्या किफायतशीर राहण्यासाठी अभियत्यांनी चाकोरी बाहेर विचार करून नवकल्पनांचा वापर करावा, असे आवाहन केंद्रीय रस्ते वाहतूक, महामार्ग व जहाजबांधणी आणि केंद्रीय सूक्ष्म, लघू व मध्यम उद्योग मंत्री श्री. नितीन गडकरी आज नागपूर येथे केले. स्थानिक हॉटेल रेडिसन ब्लू येथे महाराष्ट्र शासनाच्यासार्वजनिक बांधकाम विभाग, ग्रीह कांऊसील, तसेच द एनजी रिसर्च इंस्टिटयूट (टेरी) यांच्या संयुक्त विद्यमाने आयोजित ’10 व्या रिजनल ग्रीह काऊंसील’ चे उद्घाटन आज त्याच्या हस्ते झाले, त्यावेळी ते बोलत होते. याप्रसंगी सार्वजनिक बांधकाम विभागाचे सचिव अनिल सगणे, ग्रीहा काऊंसीलचे मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी संजय सेठ उपास्थित होते.
महाराष्ट्रात राष्ट्रीय महामार्ग प्राधिकरणाव्दारे रस्त्यांच्या कामात तलाव नाले यांच्या खोलीकरणातून मिळालेली माती, व इतर सामग्री वापरली जात आहे, यामुळे जल संधारण होऊन रस्तेप्रकल्प खर्चात बचत होत आहे. सांडपाणी, भाजीपाला, फळे यांच्या टाकाऊ सामग्रीतून बायोडायजेस्टर व्दारे बायो.सी एन. जी. निर्मितीचा प्रकल्प आता पूर्व विदर्भातील जिल्हयात सुरू होणार असून नागपूरात बायो-सी-एन-जी. वर संचालित बसेसचेही लोकार्पणही होणार आहे. अशी माहिती त्यांनी यावेळी दिली.
रस्ते बांधकामात खूप समस्या येतात. यामूळे कारखान्यातच प्रीकास्ट रोडची निर्मिती होणे आवश्यक आहे. यासाठी रोड प्रीकास्टमध्ये फलाय अॅश चा वापर केल्यास पर्यावरण संवर्धनासही वाव मिळेल असे त्यांनी यावेळी सांगितले. वेस्टर्न कोलफिल्ड लिमिटेडच्या खदानीतून मिळणारी वाळू स्वस्त दरात जनसामान्यांना उपलब्ध करून दिली जात असल्याने बांधकाम खर्चात कपात होत आहे. याकडे त्यांनी लक्ष वेधले.
याप्रसंगी ग्रीह काऊंसील तर्फे आसित्वात असणा-या इमारतीच्या फाईव्ह स्टार रेटींगचा पुरस्कार पुण्याचे राज भवन, सोलापूरच्या करकंब येथील ग्रामीण रूग्णालय व वाशिम जिल्हयातील मालेगाव जहांगीरचे सार्वजनिक बांधकाम विभागाचे विश्रामगृह या तीन वास्तूंना देण्यात आला. सार्वजनिक बांधकाम विभागाच्या मुख्य अभियंत्यांना विशेष योगदानाबद्दल मंत्री महोदयांच्या हस्ते पुरस्कार देण्यात आले. ग्रीह राईजिंग अवार्डस् श्रेणी अंतर्गत पुणे नाशिक, कोकण, नागपूर अमरावती असे विभागवार पुरस्कार उत्कृष्ठ कामगिरी करणा-या अभियंत्यांना वितरीत करण्यात आले. पुरस्काराचे स्वरूप स्मृतीचिन्ह व प्रमाणपत्र असे होते.
ग्रीह (ग्रीन रेंटींग फॉर इंटिग्रेटेड हॅबिटेट असेसमेंट) ही सार्वजनिक इमारतींच्या बांधकामांना ग्रीन रेटींग देणारी संस्था आहे. नागपूरातील 10 व्या प्रादेशिक परिषदेची मुख्य संकल्पना ‘पर्यावरण निर्मितीकरीता धोरणात्मक परिवर्तण ‘ अशी आहे. याप्रसंगी गडकरींच्या हस्ते ग्रीह काऊंसील व सार्वजनिक बांधकाम विभाग यांच्यात पर्यावरणसक्षम बांधकामासंदर्भातील एका धोरण पुस्तिकेचे अनावरणही करण्यात आले.
या कार्यक्रमास राज्यातील सर्व विभागाचे मुख्य अभियंता तसेच राज्याच्या विविध विभागातून आलेले सार्वजनिक बांधकाम विभागाचे अभियंता बहुसंख्येने उपस्थित होते.

पिवळी मारबत डी.पी. रोड संदर्भात निरीक्षण करण्यासाठी बुधवारी (ता.१९) उपमहापौर दीपराज पार्डीकर संबंधित अधिका-यांसोबत दौरा करणार आहेत. याशिवाय नाईक तलाव ते बैरागीपुरा सिमेंट रोड भागात असलेल्या अतिक्रमणामुळे अडथळा निर्माण होत असल्याची तक्रार प्राप्त झाली असून त्याचीही पाहणी उपमहापौर पार्डीकर बुधवारी करणार असल्याचे यावेळी सांगण्यात आले आहे.
पाचपावली पुलाच्या दुरूस्ती संदर्भात १३ कोटी रुपयांचा प्रस्ताव तयार करण्यात आला असून या पुलाचा सुमारे एक तृतीयांश भाग आसीनगर झोनमध्ये येतो. या भागातील बॅरीकेट्सचे काम पूर्ण झाले असल्याची माहिती यावेळी प्रशासनाच्या वतीने देण्यात आली.
जुने मस्कासाथ झोन (व्यापारी संकुल) जीर्ण झाले असून याबाबद स्ट्रक्चरल ऑडीट करण्यात आले असून पुढील कार्यवाहीसाठी ते बाजार विभागाला पाठविण्यात आले आहे, अशी माहिती प्रशासनातर्फे देण्यात आली. याबाबत भागातील सर्व व्यापा-यांना पत्र देउन त्यांच्याशी समन्वय साधून झोनस्तरावर आठवड्याभरात कार्यवाहीसंबंधी निर्णय घ्या, असे निर्देश उपमहापौर दीपराज पार्डीकर यांनी दिले. याशिवाय इतर सर्व कामांबाबतही उपमहापौरांनी आढावा घेत संबंधित प्रलंबित कामांच्या पूर्ततेसाठी तातडीने कार्यवाही करण्याचेही निर्देश यावेळी दिले.
नागपूर : इंडियन इन्स्टिट्यूट ऑफ टेक्नॉलॉजी रुडीकेने घेतलेल्या जेईई अॅडव्हान्स परीक्षेचे निकाल जाहीर झाले आहेत. या परीक्षेत चंद्रपूरच्या बल्लारपूर येथे राहणारा कार्तिकेय गुप्ता देशात पहिला आला आहे. त्याला १०० पर्सेंटाइल मिळवले आहेत. या आधीही जेईई मेन परीक्षेत १०० पर्सेंटाइल मिळवून तो देशात १८ वा आला होता. तर महाराष्ट्रात दुसरा आला होता. कार्तिकेयने यावर्षीच इयत्ता १२वीच्या परीक्षेत ९३.७ टक्के गुण मिळविले आहेत.

नागपूर : कोलकाता येथील एन. आर. एस. वैद्यकीय महाविद्यालय व रुग्णालयात हृदयरोग विभागात सेवा देणारे निवासी डॉक्टर परिभा मुखर्जी यांच्यावर झालेल्या प्राणघातक हल्ल्याच्या घटनेचे उपराजधानीतही पडसाद उमटले. या निषेध करण्यासाठी निवासी डॉक्टरांच्या संघटनेने शुक्रवारी मेडिकल आणि मेयोच्या अपघात विभागासमोर धिक्कार आंदोलन करीत मास बंक पुकारला.
अत्यावश्यक सेवा वगळता दिवसभर एकही डॉक्टर कामावर जाणार नाही. येत्या दोन दिवसांत डॉक्टरांना सुरक्षा मिळाली नाही, राज्यभर आणि देशभर हे आंदोलन केले जाईल, असा अल्टिमेटमही मार्डने दिला आहे.
या घडामोडीत लोकशाही मार्गाने घटनेचा निषेध करणाऱ्या कोलकाता येथील निवासी डॉक्टरांना वसतीगृह रिकामे करण्याचे आदेश पश्चिम बंगाल सरकारने काढल्याने याचेही प्रतिबिंब मार्डच्या आंदोलनात उमटले. केंद्र सरकारने यात मध्यस्थी केली नाही तर देशभरातील निवासी डॉक्टर रविवारपासून बेमुदत आंदोलनावर जातील, असा इशाराही निवासी डॉक्टरांच्या केंद्रीय संघटनेचे अध्यक्ष डॉ. मनू गौतम यांनी दिला आहे.

Nagpur : In a stern message directed at Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Kyrgyzstan’s capital Bishkek on Friday said that sponsoring, aiding and funding terrorism must be held accountable.
Calling for a global conference to combat terrorism, PM Modi underscored the spirit and ideals of the SCO to strengthen cooperation in the fight against terrorism.
India stands for a terrorism-free society, he said.
To combat the menace of terrorism, countries will have to come out of their narrow purview to unite against it, PM Modi said in the presence of his Pakistani counterpart Imran Khan.
The Prime Minister also called on the SCO member states to cooperate under the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) against terrorism.
He also urged the SCO leaders to organise a global conference on terrorism.
PM Modi arrived in the Kyrgyz capital on Thursday for the two-day SCO summit. The SCO is a China-led 8-member economic and security bloc with India and Pakistan being admitted to the grouping in 2017.
नागपूर : नागपूर रेल्वेस्थानकावनरून दिल्लीकडे निघालेल्या राजधानी एक्स्प्रेसला नरखेडजवळ आग लागल्याने बुधवारी रात्री खळबळ उडाली. सुदैवाने या घटनेत प्राणहानी झाली नाही. मात्र, या मार्गावरील अनेक गाड्यांचे वेळापत्रक कोलमडले होते. दरम्यान, या घटनेची चौकशी करण्यासाठी तीनसदस्यीय समिती नियुक्त करण्यात आली आहे. ही घटना बुधवारी रात्री साडेदहाच्या सुमारास नरखेड-दारीमेटा स्थानकांदरम्यान घडली.
बुधवारी रात्री ९ वाजता १२४३७ सिकंदराबाद-हजरत निजामुद्दीन राजधानी एक्स्प्रेस नागपूर स्थानकावरून सुटली. ती नरखेडजवळ असतानाच एसएलआर या शेवटच्या बोगीला आग लागल्याचे लक्षात आले. ही बोगी साधारणत: महिला किंवा विशिष्ट वर्गासाठी राखीव असते. घटना घडली त्यावेळी बोगीत कुणीही प्रवासी नव्हता. गार्डला धूर दिसताच त्याने लोको पायलटला याबाबत वॉकीटॉकीवर सांगितले. त्याबरोबर लोको पायलटने इमर्जन्सी ब्रेकचा उपयोग करून गाडी थांबवली व पुढील अनर्थ टळला. रेल्वे नियंत्रण कक्षाला याबाबत कळताच या मार्गावरील सर्व गाड्या विविध स्थानकांवर थांबवून ठेवण्यात आल्या. त्याचप्रमाणे नागपुरातून अधिकारी, कर्मचारी, आरपीएफ जवान, नरखेड, पांढुर्णा येथून अग्निशमन दलाच्या गाड्या घटनास्थळी रवाना झाल्या. आग लागलेला कोच गाडीपासून वेगळा करण्यात आल्यानंतर राजधानी पुढील प्रवासाला रवाना झाली. या घटनेच्या चौकशीसाठी मुख्यालय स्तरावरून समिती स्थापन करण्यात आली आहे. समिती सदस्यांबाबत गोपनीयता बाळगली जात आहे. समितीत तीन सदस्य असून नागपूरचे अप्पर विभागीय रेल्वे व्यवस्थापक एन. के. भंडारी यात सहकार्य करतील.
या गाड्यांवर परिणाम
आगीच्या घटनेमुळे दिल्ली मार्ग काही वेळ प्रभावित झाला. नागपूर रेल्वेस्थानकावर आलेली १२६४६ संपर्कक्रांती एक्स्प्रेस जवळपास दोन तास, १९६०४ अजमेर हमसफर आपल्या निर्धारित वेळेपेक्षा दोन तास उशिरा धावत होती. त्याचप्रमाणे १६०३१ अंदमान एक्स्प्रेस सकाळी ५.३०पर्यंत रेल्वेस्थानकावर थांबून होती. याशिवाय २२४१५ एपी एक्स्प्रेसवरही प्रभाव पडला. १८२३७ छत्तीसगड़ एक्स्प्रेसला कळमेश्वर स्थानकावर थांबविण्यात आले, तर केरळ एक्स्प्रेसलाही उशीर झाला.
केरळचा अपघात टळला
विशेष म्हणजे क्षतिग्रस्त बोगीवर केरळ एक्स्प्रेस आदळण्याची शक्यता होती. मात्र, लोको पायलटच्या सतर्कतेने हा अपघात टळला. सूत्रांनी दिलेल्या माहितीनुसार, या मार्गावरून तिरुअनंतपुरम-नवीदिल्ली केरळ एक्स्प्रेस जाते. राजधानी एक्स्प्रेसला आग लागल्यानंतर ती बोगी मुख्य गाडीपासून बाजूला करण्यात आली. मात्र, ही बोगी मुख्य मार्गावरच होती. त्याचवेळी केरळ एक्स्प्रेस आली व त्या गाडीच्या पायलटनेही इमर्जन्सी ब्रेकचा वापर केल्याने पुढील अनर्थ टळला.
Nagpur : Taking note of rampant misuse of abortion pills in Maharashtra, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has filed its first FIR against Amazon, multinational e-commerce portal. According to ‘e-pharmail’ from All India Drugs Action Network (AIDAN), 60 cases of on-line sale of abortion pills have been detected in Maharashtra in last couple of months. The portal is selling abortion pills on-line in all districts of Maharashtra including Nagpur. A city chemist, on the condition of anonymity said, “On-line sale of prescription drugs is illegal.
There are a number of websites where companies are aggressively promoting abortion pills. Young girls without knowing side effects of such pills are purchasing it from these portals. Despite various complaints to FDA authorities, no action was taken by the authorities.” The abortion pills are sold as MTP kit which is a combination of two drugs Mifepristone and Misoprostol. Both these drugs are included in Schedule H of Drugs and Cosmetic Act 1940. The MTP Kit can be taken only against the prescription of registered and qualified gynaecologist. “MTP Kit is a set of two essential abortion medicines -Mifepristone and Misoprostol which performs medical pregnancy termination (non-surgical embryo expel from womb) and should be taken only under the supervision and prescription of a gynecologist. MTP pills are recommended by physicians only for pregnancies that have not exceeded 63 days.
Medical abortion pills are prescription drugs that are different from emergency contraceptive pills generally advertised in media. They are taken between 7 and 9 weeks of pregnancy and cause the embryo to be expelled from the uterus,” said Harish Ganeshani, Pharmacist and owner of Kamal Medical Stores. A senior Drug Inspector mentioned, “Buying and selling of medicines on-line is illegal. As of today, there are no regulations in place for it. Though a policy is underway on regulating on-line sale of drugs, it has been a daunting task to bring to book the offenders as these on-line sales are facilitated either through courier services or transferred through off-line retail stores in the neighborhood having valid licenses.”
Maharashtra FDA got tip-off about illegal on-line sale of MTP Kits in Pune and Navi Mumbai. A T Nikhade, Joint Commissioner of FDA Maharashtra, Mumbai Headquarters told, “Joint Commissioner Pune Division has received the first complaint about on-line sale of MTP kit- with a trade name ‘Unwanted’. The supplier belongs to Debai in Uttar Pradesh. On the basis of the complaint, the first FIR has been filed at Wakad Police Station by Bhagyashree Yadav, Pune Drugs Inspector. FDA has sent a letter to Drug Controller of Uttar Pradesh and to Amazon to stop allowing on-line sale of medicines. FDA has also sought explanations from them.” Nikhade further said, “FDA is investigating two cases of on-line sales in Pune and Navi Mumbai. In both cases the supplier is same from Uttar Pradesh. In another case, complaint has been registered at Kamothe police station in Navi Mumbai, but no FIR has been filed against it”. Illegal stocking and selling of MTP kits without license is in contravention to the provisions of Section 18(c) of the Drugs and Cosmetics (D&C) Act, an FDA official informed.
The members of Maharashtra Registered Pharmacist Association (MRPA) were the whistleblowers in this issue. MRPA had recently ordered MTP pills on-line through Amazon and alerted Maharashtra FDA on receiving the pills. “This is the latest in the series of such cases where offenders used to stock and sell MTP kits in a clandestine manner without a license and trade it on-line. FDA has booked offenders under different sections of Drug and Magic Remedies (DMR) Act, Essential Commodities (EC) Act and D&C Act. An inter-state abortion drug racket with its network spanning across Gujarat and Delhi was the first case in the series unearthed by the FDA team two years ago in which drugs worth over Rs. 3 lakh were confiscated and three people were found contravening the provisions of the law under different sections of EC Act and D&C Act.,” AIDAN’s e-pharmail stated.
E-Pharmacy, a reality of future pharma trade
MAHARASHTRA FDA has decided to propose to the Union Government to prohibit on-line sale of MTP Pills. Many drugs which are included in Schedule X like tranquilisers, psychotropic drugs, narcotics and habit forming drugs have been prohibited through these portals, informed FDA Joint Commissioner A T Nikhade. Last year Union Health Ministry had come out with draft rules on sale of drugs by e-pharmacies with an aim to regulate on-line sale of medicines across India and provide patients accessibility to genuine drugs from authentic on-line portals. The draft rules on ‘sale of drugs by e-pharmacy’ state that no person will distribute or sell, stock, exhibit or offer for sale of drugs through e-pharmacy portal unless registered. “It is mandatory for any person to apply for the grant of registration to the Central Drug Control Authority to conduct business of e-pharmacy. The person has to apply in Form 18AA through the on-line portal of the Central Government.
The draft notification says the application of registration of e-pharmacy will have to be accompanied by a sum of Rs 50,000 while asserting that an e-pharmacy registration holder will have to comply with provisions of Information Technology Act, 2000 (21 of 2000). The details of patient shall be kept confidential and shall not be disclosed to any person other than the central government or the state government concerned, as the case may be,” Nikhade added. The draft notification also stated that the supply of any drug should be made against a cash or credit memo generated through the e-pharmacy portal and such memos shall be maintained by the e-pharmacy registration holder as record. Nikhade mentioned that rules have been proposed to ensure accessibility and availability of drugs to the people across India, after the rules are finalised, people will be able to get genuine drugs through these on-line pharmacies.
These pharmacies will be purchasing directly from the drug manufacturer so they will also be able to give 20-30 per cent discounts, thus benefiting the patients. It has been proposed that those who want to do on-line pharmacy will have to register with the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), the country’s apex drug regulator and central licensing authority. Now those who want to operate e-pharmacies, only need to take one licence in any state. They can sell drugs all over the country even if they have one licence.
The draft rules suggested that the premises from where the e-pharmacy business has been conducted should be inspected, every two years, by a team of officers authorised by the Central Licensing Authority, with or without the experts in the relevant field or the officers authorised by the concerned State Licensing Authority. It would binding on the e-pharmacies to deliver the drugs in the specific time that will be told to the patient during the time of purchase while the e-portals are mandatory required to have 24/7 call centres. The registration issued to any person for e-pharmacy will remain valid for a period a three years from the date of its issuance and a renewal of registration will have to be done in case it wants to continue. No e-pharmacy shall advertise any drug on radio or television or internet or print or any other media for any purpose, the draft said. There are also provisions of suspension and cancellation of registration of the e-portal if the latter contravenes any provision of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.
Nagpur : Nagpur IMA to observe protest on violence against docs Indian Medical Association will observe nationwide protest day on violence against doctors on June 14. The organisation has moved into agitation mode following increasing incidences of violence against doctors and healthcare establishments. In a recent incident in West Bengal, Dr Paribha Mukherjee, a young doctor was brutally attacked by a violent mob at NRS Medical College, Kolkata.
He is critical and fighting for his life. Central body of Indian Academy of Paediatricians declared its support to IMA, claimed Dr Uday Bodhankar. Indian Medical Association has been demanding a National Law Against Hospital Violence. The organistion has declared a zero-tolerance policy against violence on doctors and healthcare establishments. World Medical Association has also passed a resolution against violence on healthcare establishments and urged to bring stronger legislation against this menace. National Law Against Violence on hospitals has to be brought in urgently.
The law should provide a minimum of seven years imprisonment for hospital violence. To ensure that the cases are registered, culprits are arrested and conviction is necessitated, appropriate mandatory provisions as provided in the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act act has to be instituted. Hospitals should be declared as special zones and provision of appropriate security should be the responsibility of the state. It has been observed that the increase in violence will adversely affect the public health at large. Not only the patients undergoing the treatment in the institution facing violence will be directly affected but also there are lot of indirect consequences. Institutions will be reluctant to take up complicated and risky patients which will affect public health at large. Threat of violence increases the stress levels of health care workers.
Sound judgment regarding patient care will be compromised in such situations. As part of the protest all doctors in the country will wear black badges on Friday. Dharna/ protest meetings will be organised by the state units of IMA at respective state and district headquarters. An appeal for the central law against hospital violence will be e-mailed to the prime minister and the central home minister by all the 2,500 local branches of IMA.
Medical students and junior doctors will also participate in the protest. IMA in its statement strongly condemned the brutal violence at NRS medical college and announced that the entire medical fraternity has expressed solidarity to the seriously injured doctors. IMA stated that the organisation is ready for an agitation to press for strong legislation and strict action against hospital violence. IMA, Nagpur also strongly condemned the interns and resident doctors in West Bengal. To express our solidarity Dr Kush Jhunjhunwala, President and Dr Manjusha Giri, Hon Secretary, IMA Nagpur requested all IMA Members to wear black badges, while working.
नागपुर : दक्षिण नागपुर में सीमेंट सड़क के निर्माण कार्य में लापरवाही की शिकायत नागरिकों ने की है। विधायक सुधाकर कोहले ने क्षेत्र का दौरा कर संबंधित अधिकारियों को कार्य सुधार के लिए निर्देश दिए हैं।
उन्होंने अन्य जनप्रतिनिधियों के साथ मिलकर सड़क कार्य व सफाई कार्य का जायजा लिया। दक्षिण नागपुर में मानेवाडा चौक से म्हालगीनगर रिंग रोड तक सीमेंट सड़क का कार्य निकृष्ट स्तर का होने की शिकायत मिल रही है।
शिकायतों को देखते हुए विधायक कोहले ने सार्वजनिक निर्माण कार्य विभाग, मनपा, एसएनडीएल के अधिकारी व कर्मचारियों के साथ मानेवाडा चौक से म्हालगीनगर चौक तक सीमेंट सड़क का जायजा लिया। इस दौरान देखा गया कि जल निकासी की व्यवस्था नहीं होने के कारण परिसर में स्वास्थ्य का खतरा बढ़ सकता है। कई स्थान पर मिट्टी के ढेर लगे हैं।

The accused have been identified as Sanjay Motumal Kukreja (44), a resident of Flat No. 302, Dev Enclave, Kushi Nagar; Mahesh Udaranmal Bhateja (41), a resident of Laxmi Palace, Kushi Nagar; Ajay Gangadhar Sute (41), a resident of Plot No. 165, Dhadiwal Layout; Waman Hedau (61), a resident of Plot No. 3, Indraprasth Layout, Wadi; Dhritesh Sunil Manna (32), a resident of Flat No. 22, Disha Nawaganj, CIDCO No 2, Aurangabad; Ramesh Chandrabhan Lambahate (53), a resident of Plot No. 20, Ayodhya Nagar; Rajesh Mahaveerprasad Khare (63), a resident of Abhyankar Nagar and Vijay Ramchandra Petkar (54), a resident of Dayalu Society, CMPDI Main Road, old Jaripatka.
Raju Purshottam Amru (50), Branch Managar, Bank of Baroda, Annant Nagar Branch, lodged a complaint with the police that accused Sanjay Kukreja had applied for a loan. Between July 4, 2013 and March 31, 2016, other accused did not verify the property documents mortgaged by Kukreja and sanctioned the loan by defrauding the bank to the tune of Rs three crore.
On the basis of the complaint, police registered an offence under Sections 406, 420, 468 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code against the accused persons.
नागपूर : बेपत्ता झालेल्या एएन३२ विमानाचे अवशेष अरुणाचल प्रदेशच्या सियांग जिल्ह्यात आढळले आहे. बचाव दलाने याची पुष्टी केली असून या विमानात असणारे सर्व १३ जवान शहीद झाले आहेत. अपघातग्रस्त विमानाचे अवशेष मिळाल्याच्या ठिकाणी आज सकाळी १५ सदस्यीय बचाव पथक दाखल झाले होते.
मंगळवारी, भारतीय हवाई दलाच्या एएन ३२ या विमानाचे अवशेष सियांग जिल्ह्यात आढळून आले. अपघाताचे ठिकाण अतिशय उंचावर आणि घनदाट जंगलात आहे. त्यामुळे विमानाचे अवशेष असलेल्या ठिकाणी पोहचणे हे आव्हानात्मक काम होते. अपघातात मृत्यू झालेल्या १३ जवानांमध्ये ६ अधिकारी आणि ७ एअरमन यांचा समावेश होता. अपघातग्रस्त विमानांच्या ठिकाणी पोहचण्यासाठी १५ सदस्यीय बचाव पथकाला हेलिड्रॉप करण्यात आले होते. यामध्ये हवाई दल, लष्कराचे जवान आणि गिर्यारोहक यांचा समावेश होता.

The ambitious project will be an extension of the Gaganyaan mission.
“We have to sustain the Gaganyaan programme after the launch of (the) human space mission. In this context, India is planning to have its own space station,” Mr Sivan told reporters in New Delhi.
