नागपूर- गणेशोत्सव नागपुरात धुमधडाक्यात साजरा झाला…. गणेशोत्सव संपून आता दोन महिने झाले. मात्र सर्वांत उंच गणपती म्हणून ओळख असलेल्या हिलटॉप येथील मंडळाचा मांडव अद्यापही काढण्यात आलेला नाही. सार्वजनिक उपयोगाच्या जागेवर तो अद्यापही कायम आहे. यासंदर्भात परिसरातील काही नागरिकांनी तक्रारीचा सूर व्यक्त करण्यास सुरूवात केली आहे.
सार्वजनिक गणेशोत्सवासाठी प्रशासनाकडून मंडळाला रितसर परवानगी घ्यावी लागते. महापालिकेच्या कायद्याचे उल्लंघन होऊ नये, यासाठी गणेश मंडळांना मार्गदर्शन सूचना दिल्या जातात. कोणकोणत्या बाबींचे पालन व्हावे, याचे लेखी स्वरूपात मंडळाच्या पदाधिकाऱ्यांना दिले जाते. गणेशोत्सव संपल्यानंतर ४८ तासांत मांडव काढून ती जागा पूर्ववत करणे मंडळाला बंधनकारक असते. सर्वसामान्य नागरिकांना त्याचा त्रास होऊ नये, हा यामागील उद्देश असतो. उच्च न्यायालयानेही यासंदर्भात आदेश दिले आहेत. त्यामुळे महापालिकेने याकडे लक्ष देणे अपेक्षित आहे. परंतु महापालिका दुर्लक्ष करीत असल्याने नियमांचे काय, असा प्रश्न नागरिकांनी उपस्थित केला आहे.
दोन वर्षांपासून मांडव कायम
हिलटॉप येथील मुंजे बाबा ले-आऊट परिसरात गणेशोत्सव साजरा केला जातो. सर्वांत उंच मूर्ती म्हणून हिलटॉपच्या गणेशाची ओळख आहे. गणेशोत्सव काळात मोठ्या प्रमाणात गणेशभक्त या गणेशाच्या दर्शनासाठी येतात. गणेशभक्तांचे आकर्षण असलेल्या या मंडळाने नियमांचेही पालन करावे, अशी अपेक्षा या भागातील नागरिकांनी व्यक्त केली. तब्बल दोन वर्षांपासून हा मांडव काढला नसल्याची तक्रार या भागातील नागरिकांनी केली. यासंदर्भात आमदार प्रकाश गजभिये यांच्याशी संपर्क साधला असता, लवकरच मांडव काढणार असल्याचे त्यांनी सांगितले. मांडव काढण्यासाठी कोलकाता येथून लोक येणार असल्याचे त्यांनी सांगितले.

Nagpur: कप्तान रोहित शर्मा की आतिशी पारी के दम पर टीम इंडिया ने बांग्लादेश के खिलाफ (India vs Bangladesh) दूसरे टी20 मैच में रिकॉर्ड जीत दर्ज की. इस जीत के साथ ही तीन टी20 मैचों की सीरीज में टीम इंडिया ने 1-1 से बराबरी कर ली. राजकोट में आठ विकेट से जीतने के बाद टीम इंडिया के ऑफ स्पिनर को अब पूरा विश्वास है कि टीम इंडिया नागपुर में तीसरा और आखिरी टी20 जीतकर सीरीज अपने नाम जरूर करेगी.
दिल्ली टी20 नहीं बचा पाई थी टीम इंडिया
दिल्ली में हुए पहले (India vs Bangladesh) टी20 मैच में टीम इंडिया 149 के स्कोर का बचाव करने में नाकाम रही थी. लेकिन राजकोट में पहले रोहित के बॉलर्स ने मेहमान टीम को छह विकेट पर 153 रन के स्कोर पर रोका और उसके बाद रोहित की कप्तानी पारी के दम पर 154 का लक्ष्य केवल 26 गेंदें शेष रहते ही हासिल कर लिया. इस मैच में रोहित ने 43 गेंदों में 85 रन की तूफानी खेली और छह चौके सहित छह छक्के भी लगाए.
हमने बेहतर प्रदर्शन किया, वरना मैच तो नजदीकी था ही
मैच के बाद सुंदर ने कहा, “हम एक मैच खो चुके थे और यह नजदीकी था. एक दो चीजें अगर इधर-उधर हो जातीं तो मैच हमारे हाथ से निकल भी सकता था. हमने आज बेहतर प्रदर्शन कर जीत हासिल की. अब हम नागपुर में भी ऐसी ही पिच की उम्मीद कर रहे हैं इसलिए निश्चित तौर पर हम अगला मैच भी जीतने के बारे में सोच रहे हैं.”
बढ़िया शुरुआत के बाद हमने बांग्लादेश रोका
इस मैच में बांग्लादेश ने पहले छह ओवर में बिना कोई विकेट गंवाए 54 रन बनाकर बढ़िया शुरुआत की थी. लेकिन स्पिनर्स युजवेंद्र चहल और वाशिंगटन सुंदर के आने के बाद टीम ने मैच से नियंत्रण खो दिया.
सुंदर ने कहा, “स्पिनर्स की भूमिका अहम थी. यह जरूरी था कि हम गेंद से पेस कम करते और बीच के ओवरों में हमें बहुत बढ़िया काम किया और वापसी की. पहले छह सात ओवरों के बाद ऐसा लग रहा था कि हमें 170 या 180 रन को चेज करना पड़े.”
चहल ने किया शानदार काम
सुंदर ने इस मैच में अपने चार ओवर के कोटो में 25 रन देकर केवल एक विकेट लिया. लेकिन यह ने अपने स्पेल में 28 रन देकर दो विकेट लिए. सुंदर ने चहल की तारीफ करते हुए कहा, “चहल ऐसे खिलाड़ी है जो कभी भी खेल पलट सकते हैं. हमने उन्हें ऐसा करते कई टी20 और वनडे मैचों में देखा है. वे बीच के ओवरों में आते हैं और दो-तीन विकेट लेकर मैच पलट देते हैं. जिस तरह से वे गति में परिवर्तन करते हैं, वे जानते हैं, की बल्लेबाज क्या करने की कोशिश कर रहा है. वे जानते हैं कि कौन सा बल्लेबाज कहां मारेगा. वे बहुत चतुर हैं.”
नागपुर में होगा निर्णायक मुकाबला
इस सीरीज के बाद दोनों टीमें (India vs Bangladesh) तीसरे टी20 मैच में रविवार को नागपुर के विदर्भ क्रिकेट एसोसिएशन स्टेडियम में मुकाबला करेंगी. फिलहाल सीरीज 1-1 से बराबर है. अब तक दोनों टीमों के बीच 10 टी20 इंटरनेशल मैच हो चुके हैं. इनमें से टीम इंडिया ने 9 में और बांग्लादेश ने एक मैच में जीत हासिल की है.
राजकोट: बांग्लादेश के कप्तान महमुदुल्लाह ने भारत के खिलाफ दूसरे T20 अंतरराष्ट्रीय मैच में हार के लिए मध्यक्रम के बल्लेबाजों को दोष देते हुए कहा कि उनके बल्लेबाज लय बरकरार रखने में विफल रहे। भारत की स्पिन जोड़ी युजवेंद्र चहल और वॉशिंगटन सुंदर ने बीच के ओवरों में रन गति पर अंकुश लगाकर बांग्लादेश को अच्छी शुरुआत का फायदा नहीं उठाने दिया। बांग्लादेशी टीम पहले बल्लेबाजी करते हुए छह विकेट पर 153 रन ही बना पाई। भारत ने 15.4 ओवर में ही लक्ष्य हासिल कर लिया।
महमुदुल्लाह ने मैच के बाद कहा, ‘मुझे नहीं लगता कि हमें बहुत बदलाव की जरूरत है लेकिन कुछ विभाग हैं, विशेषकर बल्लेबाजी में, जिनमें सुधार की जरूरत है। हम लय बरकरार नहीं रखे पाए। हमें 170 रन का स्कोर बनाना चाहिए था। हमने 12 ओवर के बाद 102-103 रन बनाए थे इसलिए हमें 170-180 रन तक पहुंचना चाहिए था। बीच के ओवरों में विकेट गंवाने का खामियाजा भुगता, इस पर गौर करने की जरूरत है। सलामी बल्लेबाजों ने हमें बहुत अच्छी शुरुआत दिलाई थी और इस विकेट पर 180 रन का स्कोर बन सकता था। विकेट बल्लेबाजी के लिए बहुत अच्छा था।’
बांग्लादेशी कप्तान ने कहा, ‘हमें खेल की लय को समझने की जरूरत थी। हमें एक निश्चित समय में मिलने वाली चुनौती को समझना चाहिए था लेकिन हम ऐसा नहीं कर पाए और बड़ा स्कोर नहीं बना सके।’ महमुदुल्लाह ने हार के लिए बल्लेबाजों को दोषी ठहराया जो बल्लेबाजी के लिए अनुकूल विकेट पर बड़ा स्कोर नहीं बना पाए। उन्होंने कहा, ‘अगर T20 में आप 40 से अधिक गेंदे खाली छोड़ते हो तो आपकी जीत की संभावना कम हो जाती है। हमने 38 गेंदों पर रन नहीं बनाए। इसमें सुधार करना होगा। हमारे बल्लेबाजों को अधिक जिम्मेदारी लेनी होगी। हमारा लक्ष्य बड़ा स्कोर बनाना था लेकिन हम ऐसा नहीं कर पाए। यह हमारे बल्लेबाजों की नाकामी थी।’
भारतीय कप्तान रोहित शर्मा ने 43 गेंदों पर 85 रन बनाकर मैच को एकतरफा कर दिया था। इससे भारत ने आठ विकेट से जीत दर्ज करके तीन मैचों की सीरीज 1-1 से बराबर कराई। महमुदुल्लाह ने कहा, ‘जब रोहित अपनी लय में होते हैं तो उन्हें रोकना मुश्किल होता है लेकिन अगर हमने 175 से अधिक का स्कोर बनाया होता तो हमारी जीत की संभावना रहती।’
Nagpur: दिल्ली टी20 में करारी हार के बाद टीम इंडिया ने राजकोट में बांग्लादेश (India vs Bangladesh) पर जबर्दस्त पलटवार किया. दूसरे टी20 में टीम इंडिया ने बांग्लादेश को 8 विकेट से हरा दिया. भारतीय टीम ने ये जीत 26 गेंद पहले हासिल की और ये सबकुछ हुआ रोहित शर्मा की वजह से, जिन्होंने महज 43 गेंदों में 85 रन ठोके. रोहित शर्मा को उनकी इस पारी के लिए मैन ऑफ द मैच अवॉर्ड भी मिला. टीम इंडिया की जीत के साथ अब सीरीज 1-1 से बराबर हो गई है. सीरीज का फाइनल टी20 10 नवंबर को नागपुर में खेला जाएगा.
मैच की बड़ी बातें
राजकोट की पिच पर टीम इंडिया ने टॉस जीतकर पहले फील्डिंग चुनी और बांग्लादेश को 20 ओवर में 153 रनों पर रोका. टीम इंडिया के लिए युजवेंद्र चहल ने 2, वॉशिंगटन सुंदर, दीपक चाहर (Deepak Chahar) और खलील अहमद ने 1-1 विकेट लिया. इसके बाद भारतीय टीम ने लक्ष्य का तेजी से पीछा किया और 15.4 ओवर में ही जीत हासिल कर ली. रोहित शर्मा ने महज 23 गेंदों में अर्धशतक ठोका और अपनी पारी में 6 छक्के और 6 चौके लगाए.
आखिरी ओवरों में बिगड़ी बांग्लादेश की लय
भारत ने इससे पहले बांग्लादेश (Bangladesh) को छह विकेट पर 153 रन के स्कोर पर रोका. बांग्लादेश की टीम एक समय 11वें ओवर में एक विकेट पर 83 रन बनाकर बेहद मजबूत स्थिति में थी लेकिन चहल (28 रन पर दो विकेट), दीपक चाहर (25 रन पर एक विकेट) और वॉशिंगटन सुंदर (25 रन पर एक विकेट) की धारदार गेंदबाजी के सामने बड़े स्कोर तक नहीं पहुंच सकी. बांग्लादेश की ओर से मोहम्मद नईम (36), सौम्य सरकार (30), कप्तान महमूदुल्लाह (30) और लिटन दास (29) अच्छी शुरुआत को बड़ी पारी में बदलने में नाकाम रहे. बांग्लादेश की टीम अंतिम आठ ओवर में 56 रन ही जोड़ सकी.
धवन-रोहित ने दी जबर्दस्त शुरुआत
लक्ष्य का पीछा करने उतरे भारत को रोहित और धवन (Shikhar Dhawan) ने तूफानी शुरुआत दिलाई. धवन ने मुस्तफिजुर रहमान के पहले ही ओवर में दो चौकों के साथ शुरुआत की. रोहित ने शफीउल इस्लाम पर चौके से खाता खोलने के बाद मुस्तफिजुर के ओवर में दो चौके और एक छक्का मारा. रोहित ने शफीउल पर भी छक्का जड़ा जबकि धवन ने अमीनुल इस्लाम (29 रन पर दो विकेट) पर दो चौके मारे. भारत ने पावर प्ले में बिना विकेट खोए 63 रन जोड़े.
रोहित ने अफीफ हुसैन पर छक्के के साथ सिर्फ 23 गेंद में अर्धशतक पूरा किया. उन्होंने मुसादेक हुसैन का स्वागत लगातार तीन छक्कों के साथ करते हुए ओवर में 21 रन जुटाए. धवन हालांकि इसके बाद अमीनुल की गेंद को आगे बढ़कर खेलने की कोशिश में बोल्ड हो गए. उन्होंने 27 गेंद का सामना करते हुए चार चौके मारे.
रोहित (Rohit Sharma) भी इसके बाद अमीनुल की गेंद पर बड़ा शॉट खेलने की कोशिश में डीप मिडविकेट पर मोहम्मद मिथुन को कैच दे बैठे. इस समय भारत को जीत के लिए 46 गेंद में 29 रन की जरूरत थी और श्रेयस अय्यर (13 गेंद में नाबाद 24) तथा लोकेश राहुल (11 गेंद में नाबाद 08) ने उसे आसानी से लक्ष्य तक पहुंचा दिया.
Nagpur: Stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma was at his menacing best during the second T20I against Bangladesh which India won comfortably by eight-wickets to level the three-match series.
Chasing 154, Rohit Sharma — who was playing his 100th T20I — smashed 85 runs and helped the team get across the line with more than four overs to spare at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium on Thursday evening.
During his 43-ball knock, the 32-year-hit 6 fours, and 6 monstrous sixes and brought the Rajkot crowd to its feet.
After his Man of the Match performance, Rohit appeared on the Chahal TV, hosted by leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, and revealed the mantra for hitting sixes.
“When I hit three consecutive sixes, I tried to go for six maximums. But when I missed the fourth one, I decided I will take singles,” said Rohit while speaking about his three consecutive sixes which he hit against off-spinner Mosaddek Hossain.
“You don’t need huge body and muscles to hit big sixes. Even you (Chahal) can hit sixes. Power is not the only thing you need to hit sixes, you need timing as well. The ball should hit the middle of the bat and your head should be still. So, there are a number of things you need in order to hit a six,” he added.
During the six-hitting spree in Rajkot, the Indian skipper went on to break and set a few records.
He now holds the record for most sixes by an India captain in T20I cricket. With 37 sixes in just 17 innings, the Mumbai batsman went past M.S. Dhoni’s tally of 34 (62 innings). Virat Kohli is third on the list with 26 sixes (26 innings).
Talking about his innings, the star Indian opener said: “It was very important from us to give a good start to the team as it is often seen that a set batsman wins the match for the team. I was a little unhappy that I got out at the wrong time. But nevertheless, I am happy with my performance as well as that of the team because we were under a lit bit of pressure.”
“We had lost the first match in Delhi and it was important to win here in Rajkot,” he added.
Rohit Sharma also now holds the record for the most number of sixes in international cricket in 2019 across formats. He tops the charts with 66 and counting. He had held the record in 2017 and 2018 as well wherein he had hit 65 and 74, respectively.
The two teams will now face each other in the series finale in Nagpur on Sunday.

शरद पवार आणि उद्धव ठाकरे हे दोघेही दिल्लीच्या दबावापुढे कधीही झुकणार नाहीत, असे सूचक वक्तव्य करून ते म्हणाले, शनिवारपासून राज्याचा कारभार राज्यपालांच्या हातात जाणार आहे. त्यानंतर महाराष्ट्राला खंबीर सरकार मिळावे, अशी भूमिका असणारे सर्व प्रमुख पक्ष मिळून पुढील दिशा ठरवतील, असेही संजय राऊत यांनी सूचकपणे सांगितले.

It was speculated that Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm (ESCS) Maha would play spoilsport as heavy rains were predicted for Friday evening. However, statistician Mohandas Menon tweeted the images of the city soaking in bright sunshine.
The Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm (ESCS) Maha had seemingly moved away from the west coast of India till last Tuesday but it has since turned around and was heading towards the Gujarat coast.
Earlier on Wednesday, India, and Bangladesh had trained under clear blue skies however, the weather had taken a U-turn later in the evening before clear sky emerging on Thursday morning.
Following the defeat in the national capital in the opening T20I, stand-in India captain Rohit Sharma admitted that the pressure is not just on any particular department, but on the entire team to perform in the remaining two matches of the series.
“Pressure is just on the team to perform, as simple as that. Not a particular department. You’ve lost as a team, you’ve not lost as a bowling unit. So the focus will be on the team,” Rohit told reporters on Wednesday.

Mr. Haasan’s family will unveil the statue of his father at their ancestral home at Paramakudi in Ramanathapuram district today.
“It’s an important day. My dad’s death anniversary too. He’s a teacher who taught me through his life and death. In his name, we plan to start a talent development center,” Kamal Haasan said.
Tomorrow, Mr. Haasan will unveil the statue of his mentor, writer and director K Balachandar at his company’s office. Superstar Rajinikanth, Mr. Haasan’s longtime friend, is likely to attend the event.
Kamal Haasan will also celebrate his birthday by screening his 2000th film “Hey Ram”.
On November 17, there will be a mega musical program by music maestro Ilayaraja in which Rajinikanth is expected to speak.

Four Indian states were put on alert after the Meteorological Department predicted two cyclones – cyclone Maha and cyclone Bulbul – in the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. The Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium received a lot of rainfall on Wednesday due to the deep depression formed because of cyclone Maha and though the cyclone is set to lose its force when it approaches Saurashtra towards the afternoon on Thursday, chances of thunderstorms cannot entirely be ruled out.
According to weather forecasts of Rajkot on Thursday, it is set to remain cloudy throughout the day while there are around 50% chances of thunderstorms between 2-5 pm.
The India-Bangladesh 2nd T20I is set to begin from 7 pm. The stadium here can be readied in an hour’s time for play, provided rains stop before the start of play. It remained cloudy on Wednesday morning with the sun shining brightly in phases, bringing along humidity and heat. Both the teams preferred to train during the daytime for two days leading into the match.
However, heavy rains along with strong winds lashed the SCA stadium in the evening. Along with thunder and lightning, it continued for more than half an hour leaving large water puddles on the field. The pitch and the area around it was covered with multiple layers of tarpaulin.
For the fifth-ranked India, a washout will mean that they will not win a series at home for the second consecutive time. For ninth-ranked Bangladesh, a washout would mean they would have averted a series loss in India—a big achievement considering their rocky build-up to the tour.
Nagpur: The proposed policy recently released by the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) for its tariff determination for renewable projects in the state for generation and sale of electricity appeared to be not going down well with the body of solar panel manufacturers. Maharashtra Solar Manufacturers Association (MASMA), the body of the manufacturers, on Tuesday raised serious objections over the draft saying that the new policy would discourage consumers from installing solar panels. “The proposed policy seems to have been designed to benefit only the power distribution company. There is nothing in the proposed policy that could attract or motivate consumers. If the new policy comes into effect, power consumers will not go for solar energy which will subsequently affect the environment,” said Saket Suri, President of the Vidarbha Chapter of the association. Suri said that the concept of net metering has been removed from the proposed policy.
“Because of this, the consumers will have to buy power from the suppliers at higher rates while supplying it at a lower price. There will be a huge disparity in the rates. We want the authorities to scrap the policy,” he said in a press conference held here. Net metering has been in practice in Maharashtra which is aimed at making distributed renewable energy more accessible and economical for electricity consumers. Net metering works by calculating the difference between the export of power generated by the consumer from a rooftop solar installation, and the import of power from the distribution company. Consumers are then compensated for the surplus power generated at a price determined by the State. As per the new policy, the consumers falling in a commercial category will have to buy power at rates that will be at least three times more than that of the rates applicable for power supplied by the consumers (through solar panels).
Suri said that the association would raise an objection before the commission and sought drastic changes in it. “To promote green energy, the commission should carry forward the net metering and it should not fix any upper cap on it, he said. The commission has issued the draft version on October 26 for its tariff determination regulation order for renewable projects that are commissioned in the state for the generation and sale of electricity to distribution licensees in Maharashtra. Apart from this, it is important to note that as per the new regulations, the project-specific tariff for the generation of electricity from renewable sources should follow the ceiling norms. The consumers and other stakeholders may raise objections over the proposed policy until November 18.
NEW DELHI: The Shiv Sena has no option but to join hands with BJP to form government in Maharashtra under Devendra Fadnavis’s leadership, their ally Ramdas Athawale said on Wednesday, soon after Sharad Pawar asserted that his party NCP will work as a “responsible opposition”.
The BJP and the Shiv Sena are locked in a tussle over the Chief Minister’s post, resulting in a stalemate in government formation in Maharashtra.
Mr. Pawar’s remarks came this morning after a meeting with senior Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, who he had met earlier too.
“There is no option left with the Shiv Sena now than to form government with the BJP under the leadership of Devendra Fadnavis,” Mr. Ramdas Athawale said.
The impasse remains despite the results of the October 24 assembly polls giving the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance combined seat strength of 161, way past the 145 majority mark in the 288-member House.
The people of Maharashtra have given the mandate to the BJP and the Shiv Sena to form government in alliance, Mr. Athawale added.
Wondering how the Shiv Sena can form government with 56 legislators, he said, “If the Shiv Sena does not come with us, then Devendra Fadnavis should move forward and stake claim to form government in the state.”
On Tuesday, Mr. Athawale had said the Shiv Sena should not be “adamant” on its demand for the Chief Minister’s post as it rightly belongs to the BJP.
He said he is hopeful that Union Minister Nitin Gadkari would be able to resolve the situation as he enjoys respect across party lines.
The bone of contention between the BJP and the Shiv Sena is their demand for the post of Chief Minister on rotational basis with the BJP and a “50:50 formula” for allocating ministries.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni might have taken a sabbatical when it comes to playing the game after India’s exit in the 2019 World Cup, but he could be seen as a ‘guest’ commentator for India’s maiden Day-Night Test at the Eden Gardens against Bangladesh. If host broadcasters Star have their way, Dhoni will be seen in the commentary box on the opening day of the Test match on November 22. In the plan proposed by Star to BCCI President Sourav Ganguly for the pink ball Test, accessed by IANS, all former captains of the Indian team are to be invited for the first two days of the Test match and will be asked to share their favorite moments from India’s Test history.
“Invite India Test captains for Day 1 & 2 of the Test. All captains at the ground along with (Virat) Kohli and the rest of the team as well as the dignitaries line up for the anthem. Captains appear on commentary as guests through the day to recollect their favorite moments from India’s Test history. Down memory lane segments recorded with individual captains are played on the big screen at the ground in breaks Day 4 onwards,” reads the plan for the former India captains.
This will interestingly be the first time that Dhoni will be seen donning the role of commentator and if the former skipper does accept the invite that has supposedly already been sent, it will undoubtedly be a treat for the fans who can never have enough of their Captain Cool.
But this isn’t all as far as Star and their planning to make the first pink-ball Test a carnival is concerned. At lunch on the third day, India’s greatest win at Eden Gardens will be celebrated — against Australia in 2001.
“V.V.S. Laxman, Sourav Ganguly, Harbhajan Singh, Anil Kumble (?) and Rahul Dravid (?) re-live the Test match (2001). Segments aired on the big screen,” the plan reads.
The question marks next to Kumble and Dravid’s name suggests they might have not made their availability known when the documentation was done on Saturday.
This apart, the host broadcasters are also planning to telecast the training session of the Indian team with the pink ball on the eve of the game. This will be a first in the history of Indian cricket.

After teasing fans with posters of the film, the first Panipat trailer featuring Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles has finally landed. Directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar, Panipat is a period film based on the third battle of Panipat.
While Arjun plays Sadashivrao Bhau, who served as the Sardar Senapati (commander-in-chief) of the Maratha forces, Kriti Sanon is his wife Parvati Bai in the film. Sanjay Dutt plays the founder of the Durrani empire, Ahmad Shah Abdali. The trailer shows not just the Marathas taking a stand against Abdali but also Parvati jumping in the battlefield with a sword. True to Ashutosh’s style of filmmaking, the trailer looks grand and convincing. However, one cannot help recalling a few scenes from Ranveer Singh starts Padmaavat.
Panipat also stars Mohnish Bahl, Padmini Kolhapure, Mir Sarwar and Zeenat Aman. The film is scheduled to release on December 6. Earlier, Ashutosh shared a new poster of the film and captioned it, “Biggest Battles Have Greatest Stories!”
Akshay Kumar praised the trailer and hailed the star cast for their performances. The third battle of Panipat
The third battle of Panipat was fought between the northern expeditionary force of the Maratha Empire and the invading forces of the King of Afghanistan, Ahmad Shah Abdali, supported by two Indian allies – the Rohilla Afghans of the Doab and Shuja-Ud-Daula, the Nawab of Awadh.
Talking about working on the film, Arjun had told IANS, “It is my first-period film and also my first film with Ashu (Ashutosh Gowariker) sir. He is one of the finest directors of our country. He has made amazing films like Lagaan, Jodhaa Akbar, and Swades. I really had fun working on Panipat and now I am feeling sad that shooting of the film is over because I learned a lot from him in the process.”
On the casting, Gowariker had earlier said in a press statement: “I have shared screen space with Sanjay in Naam, which was a memorable co-acting experience and now it will be great to direct such a versatile and immensely talented actor as him.”
“What impresses me most about Arjun, apart from his fine performances – is his dynamism. He has played double roles twice, and he has portrayed an action hero as well as a lover boy,” the filmmaker said about Arjun. He added that his female lead is both a good performer and beautiful. “I needed someone really beautiful as well as a good performer, and Kriti is both. The eclectic combination of these three is a first for me, and I look forward to this exciting journey with them called Panipat,” he had said.
After the first T20I between India vs Bangladesh in New Delhi was under a constant threat of being affected by extreme pollution levels in the city till the last moment, it now looks like the second T20I too might be under a cloud to thanks to predictions of a cyclone that might hit Rajkot.
According to weather authorities, the threat of the cyclone ‘Maha’ reaching Rajkot had earlier subsided and was looking like it would move away from the west coast of India, but there may be a change of trajectory which causes it to reach Gujarat.
“Severe cyclonic storm Maha lay centered at 580 kilometers southwest of Diu and 550 km southwest of Veraval,” IMD director Jayanta Sarkar told PTI. “It is most likely to intensify into a very severe cyclonic storm and make landfall between Dwarka and Diu on Wednesday night or early Thursday morning with wind speeds of 120 kilometers per hour.
“The storm will cause heavy to very heavy rains in Saurashtra (the region of which Rajkot is a part) and south Gujarat on November 6-7. It is moving towards Oman but will recurve towards Gujarat coast on Monday.”
Should the cyclone reach Rajkot, the possibility of the match being played remains extremely slim and would pose bad news to India who would be desperate to make a comeback into the series after losing the first T20I.

Striking a strident note yet again, Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut on Tuesday reiterated that the next chief minister of Maharashtra would be from his party. Twelve days after assembly election results were announced, Sena and its ally Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) continue to squabble over sharing the chief minister’s position and 50:50 allocation of portfolios.
“Chief Minister will be from Shiv Sena only. The face and politics of Maharashtra is changing, you will see. What you call ‘Hungama’ (commotion), is not ‘Hungama’, but the fight for justice and rights, victory will be ours,” Raut said, according to news agency ANI.
The BJP won 105 seats followed by the Shiv Sena at 56, the NCP 54 and the Congress 44. The majority mark is 145. Independents and smaller parties won 29 seats.
Since then the allies have been at odds over power-sharing with Sena sending out feelers to Sharad Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the Congress. The NCP chief called on Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Monday and briefed her about the ground situation in the state, with senior Congress leader AK Antony also present. The outcome of the meeting was unclear.
Monday witnessed hectic discussion in the BJP camp too with incumbent chief minister Devendra Fadnavis meeting Union home minister Amit Shah after which Fadnavis said, “There is a need to form the government in Maharashtra at the earliest… I am sure, I am confident that the government will be formed.”
The deadline for government formation is November 9, when the term of the current legislative assembly expires. If no government is in place by the end of the tenure of the current assembly, President’s Rule could be imposed in the state.
नवी दिल्ली: महाराष्ट्रातील विधानसभा निवडणुकीच्या निकालानंतर 10 दिवस झाले तरी अद्याप सत्ता स्थापनेचा तिढा सुटलेला नाही. महायुतीला स्पष्ट बहुमत मिळालं असलं तरीही सेना-भाजपमध्ये युतीच्या फॉर्म्युल्यावरून तणाव निर्माण झाला आहे. हा तणाव आता चिघळा असल्याची चर्चा राजकीय चर्चा सध्या सुरू आहे. भाजपमधील उच्च स्तरीय सूत्रांनी दिलेल्या माहितीनुसार, भाजप गृहमंदी पद देण्यासाठी तयार नसल्याची महत्त्वाची माहिची समोर आली आहे. दरम्यान, यावेळी भाजपकडून शिवसेनेवर गंभीर आरोप करण्यात आले आहेत.
सूत्रांनी दिलेल्या माहितीनुसार, शिवसेनेमुळे भाजपच्या 12 ते 15 जागा पराभूत झालेल्या आहेत असा आरोप भाजपकडून करण्यात येत आहे. भाजपच्या या आरोपानंतर राजकीय वातावरण चिघळण्याची शक्यता आहे. तर शहरी नगरविकास मंत्रालयदेखील भाजप देण्यास तयार नसल्याचं सांगण्यात येत आहे. तर अद्याप मुख्यमंत्री पदावर कुठलीही चर्चा झालेली नाही. युतीतल्या या वादामुळे सत्ता स्थापनेविषयी नागरिकांमध्येही संभ्रम वाढत आहे. त्यामुळे आता कोण सरकार स्थापन करणार आणि कोणाचा मुख्यमंत्री असणार हे पाहणं महत्त्वाचं आहे.
दरम्यान, मिळालेल्या माहितीनुसार, निवडणुकीत पराभूत झालेल्या मंत्र्यांचा मंत्रिमंडळात समावेश होवू शकतो. मात्र हा निर्णय दिल्लीत होणार असल्याचं सांगण्यात येत आहे. निवडणुकीत शिवसेनेने राष्ट्रवादीला मदत केली. त्यामुळे भाजपच्या 12 ते 15 जागा पराभूत झाल्या असल्याचा आरोपही यावेळी करण्यात आला आहे. तर विदर्भात एक निर्णय चुकल्याने भाजपचं मोठं नुकसान झाल्याच्या चर्चा आहेत.
शिवसेना राष्ट्रवादीच्या संपर्कात, बड्या नेत्याने केला खुलासा
राज्यात सत्ता स्थापन करण्यासाठी युतीमध्ये मोठा वाद सुरू आहे. शिवसेनेनं मुख्यमंत्रीपदासह 50-50 फॉर्म्युल्याचा आग्रह धरला आहे. तर भाजपकडून मात्र सेनेला म्हणावा तितका प्रतिसाद दिला जात नसल्याचं दिसत आहे. राज्यातील या राजकीय घडामोडींच्या पार्श्वभूमीवर मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांनी भाजपाध्यक्ष अमित शहा यांची भेट घेतली. तर राष्ट्रवादी काँग्रेसचे अध्यक्ष शरद पवार हे दुसऱ्यांदा काँग्रेस अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी यांच्या भेटीला गेले आहेत. यामुळे महाराष्ट्राचा फैसला दिल्लीत ठरण्याची शक्यता आहे.
मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस आणि केंद्रीय गृहमंत्री अमित शहांमधील बैठक संपली आहे. या बैठकीत राजकीय घडामोडी आणि ओल्या दुष्काळावर चर्चा झाली असं फडणवीस यांनी सांगितलं. त्याचबरोबर महाराष्ट्रात लवकरच नवं स्थिर सरकार बनेल असा दावा मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांनी केला आहे. अद्याप शरद पवार आणि सोनिया गांधी यांच्या भेटीबद्दलची माहिती समोर आलेली नाही. मात्र, या भेटीतून नवीन राजकीय समीकरणं तयार होऊ शकतात असं राष्ट्रवादी काँग्रेसचे खासदार सुनील तटकरे यांनी म्हटल्याचं वृत्त लोकसत्ताने दिलं आहे.
निवडणुकांचे निकाल समोर आल्यानंतर सेना-भाजपमधील सत्तासंघर्षात राष्ट्रवादी काँग्रेसची भूमिका महत्त्वाची ठरेल असं म्हटलं जात होतं. त्यातच सेनेला जर राष्ट्रवादीने पाठिंबा दिला तर भाजपला सर्वाधिक जागा मिळवूनही सत्तेबाहेर बसावं लागेलं. पण राष्ट्रवादी काँग्रेसचे अध्यक्ष शरद पवार यांनी आपण विरोधीपक्षातच बसू. सत्ता स्थापनेचा कोणताही विचार नाही असं म्हटलं होतं. मात्र, खासदार सुनील तटकरे यांनी राष्ट्रवादी काँग्रेस शिवसेनेच्या संपर्कात असल्याचं म्हटलं आहे. महायुतीला बहुमत मिळूनही त्यांनी सत्ता स्थापनेसाठी दावा केलेला नाही. तसेच गेल्या पाच वर्षांत त्यांच्यामध्ये जसे वाद होते त्यापेक्षा अधिक वाद आता आहेत असं सुनील तटकरेंनी सांगितलं.
शिवसेनेचे खासदार संजय राऊत यांनी 170 आमदार संपर्कात असल्याचं म्हटलं होतं. त्याबद्दल तटकरे यांनी सांगितलं की, कशाच्या आधारे राऊत यांनी हे सांगितलं हे त्यांनाच माहिती. बहुतेक शिवसेना, काँग्रेस, राष्ट्रवादी आणि अपक्ष असे सर्व आमदार मिळून हा आकडा सांगितला असावा असंही तटकरे यांनी म्हटलं.
शिवसेना खासदार संजय राऊत यांनी भाजपला थेट आव्हान दिलं आहे. आता शिवसेनेचा मुख्यमंत्री होईल आणि तो शिवतिर्थावर शपथ घेईल असं पत्रकार परिषदेत त्यांनी सांगितलं. ‘सत्तेचं गणित जमलं की आम्ही माध्यमांसमोर मांडणार आहोत. पण आता अंतिम निर्णयापर्यंत उद्धव ठाकरे आले आहेत. महाराष्ट्रात शिवसेनेचाच मुख्यमंत्री होईल. ऑपरेशन कमळ महाराष्ट्रात चालणार नाही.’ असा इशारा संजय राऊत यांनी दिला होता.
दरम्यान, गिरीश महाजन यांना संजय राऊत यांच्या पत्रकार परिषदेबद्दल विचारले असता ते म्हणाले की, आम्हाला आमच्या पक्षाने बोलण्याचा अधिकार दिलेला नाही. सध्या आमची वेट अँड वॉच अशी भूमिका आहे. सेनेचे नेते बोलत आहेत. त्यांना तो अधिकार आहे. त्यांनी बोलावं आमची कोणतीही तक्रार नाही असंही महाजन यांनी म्हटलं. आतापर्यंत मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांनी फक्त एकदाच त्यांची भूमिका मांडली आहे. त्यानंतर कोणत्याच प्रतिक्रिया आलेल्या नाहीत. त्यामुळे सत्ता संघर्षाचा हा पेच कधी सुटणार याकडे लक्ष लागून राहिलं आहे.

मुंबई: महाराष्ट्र विधानसभा निवडणूक निकालानंतर शिवसेना आणि भाजपमध्ये ऐतिहासिक गोंधळाची स्थिती निर्माण झाली आहे. त्यामुळे निकाल जाहीर होऊन जवळपास दोन आठवडे पूर्ण होत आले तरीही सत्तास्थापनेची प्रक्रिया अद्यापही सुरू झाली नाही. अशातच मुख्यमंत्रिपद न देण्यावर ठाम असलेल्या भाजपला कोंडीत पकडण्यासाठी शिवसेनेने नवी खेळी खेळली आहे.
सत्तास्थापनेची प्रक्रिया सुरू व्हावी, अशी मागणी शिवसेनेकडून राज्यपालांकडे करण्यात येणार आहे. शिवसेनेचे खासदार संजय राऊत आज (सोमवारी)राज्यपालांची भेट घेणार आहेत. संजय राऊत हे शिवसेनेच्या वतीने सत्तास्थापनेचा दावा करणार नाहीत. मात्र घटनेनुसार सर्वात मोठ्या पक्षाला आमंत्रण द्या अशी मागणी ते राज्यपालांकडे करणार आहेत. त्यानंतर राज्यपालांनी सर्वाधिक 105 जागा मिळवलेल्या भाजपला सत्तास्थापनेसाठी निमंत्रण दिल्यास भाजपची अडचण होऊ शकते. कारण विधानसभा निवडणुकीत सर्वाधिक जागा मिळाल्या असल्या तरीही भाजपला स्वबळावर 145 हा बहुमताचा आकडा गाठता आलेला नाही. हेच संख्याबळ लक्षात घेता शिवसेनेनं ही खेळी खेळली आहे.

संजय राऊत पुढे म्हणाले, मुख्यमंत्री जर म्हणत असतील की भाजपचं सरकार येणार आहे तर त्यांनी राज्यपालांकडे दावा करावा आणि राज्यपालांनी त्यांना आठ, पंधरा नाहीतर एक महिन्यांची मुदत बहुमत सिद्ध करण्यासाठी द्यावी. ते बहुमत सिद्ध करू शकले नाहीत तर इतर सर्व पर्याय खुले आहेत असंही त्यांनी एका वाहिनीला दिलेल्या मुलाखतीत स्पष्ट केलं.

अगले साल की शुरुआत में भारतीय टीम को न्यूजीलैंड के मुश्किल दौरे पर जाना है और बुमराह के ठीक होने से कोच रवि शास्त्री और कप्तान विराट कोहली को बड़ी राहत मिलेगी. सूत्र ने कहा, “उनकी हाल ही में जांच हुई और वह बहुत अच्छे से ठीक हो रहे हैं. हम जनवरी में उनके वापसी की उम्मीद कर सकते हैं और वह आस्ट्रेलिया के खिलाफ भी खेल सकते हैं.”
न्यूजीलैंड में बुमराह की होगी बहुत जरूरत
भरतीय टीम जनवरी में श्रीलंका और ऑस्ट्रेलिया के खिलाफ घरेलू सीरीज खेलेगी और उसके बाद न्यूजीलैंड के दौरे पर जाएगी जहां उसे दो टेस्ट, तीन वनडे और पांच टी-20 मैचों की सीरीज खेलनी है. सूत्र ने कहा, “जब आप न्यूजीलैंड में खेल रहे होते हैं, तो गेंदबाजी सबसे अधिक महत्वपूर्ण हो जाती है. जैसा कि हमने पहले में भी देखा है कि वहां बड़े शतक बनाने की तुलना में 20 विकेट लेना ज्यादा अहम है. इसलिए टीम प्रबंधन बहुत स्पष्ट था कि वे प्रतीक्षा करेंगे और न्यूजीलैंड दौरे तक उनका इंतजार करेंगे.”
टेस्ट चैंपियनशिप के लिए अहम हैं बुमराह
सूत्र ने खिलाड़ियों के वर्कलोड पर कहा, “खिलाड़ियों वर्कलोड संभालना अभी हमारे लिए शायद सबसे महत्वपूर्ण बात है. इसलिए बुमराह विश्व कप के बाद से कोई सीमित ओवर का मैच नहीं खेले क्योंकि हम चाहते थे कि वह टेस्ट के लिए फिट रहें. जब तक टेस्ट चैंपियनशिप जारी रहेगी वह हमारे लिए सबसे महत्वपूर्ण खिलाड़ी रहेंगे. हम जानते हैं कि वह कितने अच्छे गेंदबाज हैं और एक स्पेल में कितना प्रभाव डाल सकते हैं.”
विराट के आराम का यह था शेड्यूल
भारतीय कप्तान विराट कोहली को भी बांग्लादेश के खिलाफ टी-20 सीरीज के लिए आराम दिया गया है. लेकिन वे बांग्लादेश के ही खिलाफ होने वाले टेस्ट सीरीज में वापसी करेंगे. पहले खबरें आ रहीं थी विराट विश्व कप के बाद वेस्टइंडीज दौरे की टी20 सीरीज के दौरान ब्रेक लेंगे, लेकिन ऐसा नहीं हुआ.
India stand-in captain Rohit Sharma, who was hit on his left abdomen during a net session on Friday, has been declared “fit and available” for the first T20I against Bangladesh on Sunday.
“Rohit Sharma was hit on the left side of his abdomen while batting in the nets today. The BCCI medical team has confirmed that he is fit and available for the first T20 after assessment of his injury,” the BCCI media manager issued a statement on behalf of the team.
Rohit, who will lead India in the three-match series in Virat Kohli’s absence, received the blow early into the net session while taking throwdowns. He was hit on the inside of his left thigh by a sharp delivery. He immediately left the nets in some discomfort.
Rohit Sharma is set to play his 100th T20I in the upcoming series, which is a mark no Indian has reached yet. Rohit is tied with MS Dhoni at 98 T20I caps at the moment. India and Bangladesh will play three T20s in the upcoming series.
Shahid Afridi (99 T20Is) and Shoaib Malik (111 T20Is) are the only players who have more T20I caps.
Rohit Sharma is also in line to become the first batsman to reach 2500 T20I runs in the upcoming series. He is currently in a race with Virat Kohli for the tag of the highest run-scorer in T20I cricket, with Rohit on 2443 runs and Kohli on 2450 runs.
मुंबई: विधानसभा निवडणुकीच्या निकालानंतर सत्तावाटपावरून भाजप-शिवसेनेत वाद सुरू असतानाच एकीकडे शिवसेनेचे खासदार संजय राऊत यांनी राष्ट्रवादी काँग्रेसचे सर्वेसर्वा शरद पवार यांची भेट घेतली होती तर आता काँग्रेसमध्ये शिवसेनेसोबत सत्ता स्थापन करण्यासाठी मोठ्या हालचाली सुरू झाल्या आहे. काँग्रेसचं शिष्टमंडळ हे दिल्लीत आज सोनिया गांधी यांची भेट घेणार आहे. काँग्रेसचे प्रदेशाध्यक्ष बाळासाहेब थोरात यांच्यासह शिष्टमंडळ हे आज सोनिया गांधी यांच्या निवासस्थानी त्यांची भेट घेऊन चर्चा करणार असल्याची माहिती एका मराठी वृत्तवाहिणीकडून देण्यात आली आहे. काँग्रेसचे प्रदेशाध्यक्ष बाळासाहेब थोरात, माजी मुख्यमंत्री अशोक चव्हाण, पृथ्वीराज चव्हाण, विजय वडेट्टीवार, माणिकराव ठाकरे आदी नेते यावेळी उपस्थित राहणार असल्याची माहिती आहे.
शिवसेना- राष्ट्रवादी काँग्रेसमध्ये सत्तास्थापनेविषयी चर्चेला जोर आला आहे. त्यामुळे आता भाजपला धक्का देण्यासाठी शिवसेनेचं जोरदार प्लानिंग सुरू आहे. दरम्यान, शिवसेनेकडून सत्तास्थापनेविषयी प्रस्ताव आल्यास गांभीर्याने विचार केला जाईल असं याआधीच काँग्रेसकडून स्पष्ट करण्यात आलं आहे. यामध्ये शिवसेनेला मुख्यमंत्री पद आणि इतर खात्यांची समान विभागणी असा तोडगा निघाल्यास शिवसेना-राष्ट्रवादी काँग्रेससह सत्तास्थापण करू शकते. त्यामुळे आजच्या काँग्रेसच्या बैठकीत काय समोर येतं हे पाहणं महत्त्वाचं आहे.
सत्तेतल्या वाटणीवरून भाजप आणि शिवसेनेत रस्सीखेच आणि मान-अपमानाचं नाट्य सुरू आहे. निकाल लागून सहा दिवस झालेत तरी अजुन राज्यात सरकार स्थापनेसाठी कुणीही पुढाकार घेतलेला नाही. दोन्ही पक्षांमधले मतभेद दररोज वाढताना दिसत आहेत. नेत्यांच्या वक्तव्यांमुळे हे मतभेद वाढत आहेत. मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांनी चर्चेवर बोलायला नको होतं. अजून भाजपकडून कुठलाही प्रस्ताव आलेला नाही. सर्व गोष्टी मान्य करायला आपण कपाळ करंटे नाहीत. भाजपला आपण अजूनही मित्र मानतो. त्यांनी असं वागायला नको होतं,’ असं म्हणत शिवसेना पक्षप्रमुख उद्धव ठाकरे यांनी शिवसेना आमदारांच्या बैठकीत आक्रमक भूमिका घेतली होती.
दरम्यान, ‘अडीच-अडीच वर्ष मुख्यमंत्रिपद असं काही युतीमध्ये ठरलं नव्हतं. येणाऱ्या सरकारमध्येही मीच मुख्यमंत्री राहणार,’ असा दावा काही दिवसांपूर्वी देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांनी केला होता. मुख्यमंत्र्यांच्या याच दाव्यामुळे शिवसेना-भाजपची नियोजित बैठक रद्द करण्यात आली. तसंच अजूनही सेना नेत्यांकडू याबाबत नाराजी व्यक्त करण्यात आली. त्यामुळे या परिस्थितीवर दोन्ही पक्ष कसा तोडगा काढणार, हे पाहणं औत्सुक्याचं ठरणार आहे.

विधानसभा निवडणुकीच्या निकालानंतर राज्यात सत्तास्थापने संदर्भातील घडामोडींना वेग आला आहे. भाजपने विधिमंडळ नेतेपदी देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांची निवड केल्यानंतर शिवसेनेने विधिमंडळ गटनेतेपदी एकनाथ शिंदे यांची निवड केली आहे. आता सत्ता स्थापनेसंदर्भात दोन्ही पक्षांचे नेते कधी चर्चा सुरु करतात, याकडे सगळ्यांचे लक्ष लागले आहे. दुसरीकडे काँग्रेस आणि राष्ट्रवादीच्या पुढच्या हालचालींकडेही राज्याचे लक्ष आहे.
