नागपूर :विदर्भात उन्ह वाढत असताना रुग्णांची संख्या कमी झालेली नाही. रविवारी पुन्हा ४१ रुग्णांची भर पडली. एकूण रुग्णांची संख्या १२१६वर पोहचली आहे. विशेष म्हणजे, आज पुन्हा अकोल्यात सर्वाधिक रुग्णांची नोंद व एका रुग्णाचा मृत्यू झाला आहे. विदर्भात मृतांची संख्या ५१ झाली आहे.
हॉटस्पॉट ठरलेल्या अकोला जिल्ह्यात १९ रुग्ण पॉझिटिव्ह आले. या रुग्णांसह कोरोनाबाधितांची संख्या ३९७ वर पोहचली आहे. शिवाय, आज पुन्हा एका रुग्णाचा मृत्यू झाला. आतापर्यंत २४ मृत्यू झाले आहेत. यात एका रुग्णाची आत्महत्या आहे. या जिल्ह्याने मृताच्या संख्येत नागपुरला मागे टाकले आहे. आता रुग्णसंख्येतही मागे टाकते की काय, याकडे सर्वांचे लक्ष लागले आहे.
नागपुरात सहा रुग्ण पॉझिटिव्ह आले. यात एक महिला डॉक्टर असल्याने खळबळ उडाली. डॉक्टर पॉझिटिव्ह येण्याचे हे दुसरे प्रकरण आहे. या डॉक्टरची ड्युटी आमदार निवास या अलगीकरण कक्षात होती. परंतु १५ दिवसांपासून ती सुटीवर होती. दोन दिवसांपासून लक्षणे असल्याने शनिवारी तिने नमुने तपासणीसाठी दिले असता आज पॉझिटिव्ह अहवाल आला. या रुग्णासह मोमीनपुरा येथील दोन, गड्डीगोदाम येथील एक, जवाहरनगर येथील दोन असे सह रुग्ण पॉझिटिव्ह आले. रुग्णांची संख्या ४२३ झाली आहे. नागपुरात आतापर्यंत सातच मृत्यूची नोंद आहे. अकोल्यासोबतच अमरावती जिल्ह्यात रुग्णांची संख्या वाढत आहे. १२ नव्या रुग्णांचे निदान झाले. रुग्णांची संख्या १६३ वर पोहचली आहे. भंडाऱ्यातही आणखी चार रुग्ण पॉझिटिव्ह आले. कोरोनाबाधितांची रुग्णांचा आलेख वाढत आहे. चार नव्या रुग्णांची नोंद झाली आहे. यातील तीन जिल्हा बाहेरील असून एक जिल्ह्यातील आहे. रुग्णसंख्या १३वर पोहचली आहे.

Mumbai 2020 :Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (CET) cell will declare the MBA CET results today at 11 am. Maharashtra minister of higher education and technical education Uday Samant had on Friday tweeted that the results will be out at 11 am on Saturday.
Candidates who had appeared for the exams that were conducted on March 14 and 15 can check their MAH MBA CET result 2020 online at mahacet.org OR cetcell.mahacet.org. The qualified candidates will go through counselling rounds. Candidates will have to register themselves for the counselling process.

नागपुर :कोरोनाबाधित रुग्णांवर प्रभावी व परिणामकारक उपचारामुळे भारतात सर्वाधिक रुग्ण बरे होण्याचे प्रमाण नागपुरात आहे. जिल्ह्यात कोरोनाबाधित ४०९ नागरिकांपैकी २९९ रुग्णांना उपचारानंतर सुटी देण्यात आली आहे. कोरोनामधून सरासरी ७४ टक्के रुग्ण बरे झाले असून हे प्रमाण देशात सर्वाधिक आहे.
रुग्ण उपचारानंतर बरे होण्याचे प्रमाण भारतात ४०.४ टक्के तर राज्यात २६.३ टक्के एवढे असून त्या तुलनेत नागपुर जिल्ह्यातील रुग्ण बरे होण्याचे प्रमाण राज्यात तसेच देशातही सर्वाधिक आहे. कोरोनाबाधितांच्या तपासणीसह उपचारासाठी शासकीय वैद्यकीय महाविद्यालय तसेच इंदिरा गांधी शासकीय वैद्यकीय महाविद्यालय येथे स्वतंत्र कोविड वॉर्ड तयार करण्यात आला. त्यासोबतच उपचारासाठी तज्ज्ञ डॉक्टरांची चमू चोवीस तास उपलब्ध आहे.
कोरोना संशयित रुग्णांच्या तपासणीसाठी शहरात पाच अत्याधुनिक प्रयोगशाळा असून यामध्ये शहरातील ९ हजार ८१८ स्वॅबच्या तपासण्या करण्यात आल्या आहेत. कोरोनाबाधितांमधून बरे झालेल्या रुग्णांमध्ये जगात सर्वाधिक जर्मनी येथील रुग्ण बरे होण्याचे ८७.९ टक्के, इटली ५३.३, फ्रान्स ३४.९, अमेरिका २३.३, रशिया २७.७ इतके आहे. भारतात रुग्ण बरे होण्याचे प्रमाण ४०.४ टक्के तर महाराष्ट्रात २६.३ टक्के एवढी आहे. त्या तुलनेत नागपूर शहरात पूर्ण बरे होण्याचे प्रमाण ७४ टक्के असल्याची माहिती पालकमंत्री नितीन राऊत यांनी दिली.
नागपुर :महापालिकेच्या गांधीबाग झोनमधील प्रभाग क्रमांक १९ मधील बजेरिया नागेश्वर मंदिर या परिसरात कोरोनाबाधित रुग्ण आढळून आल्याने व त्याचा प्रादुर्भाव शहरातील इतर भागात पसरू नये या करिता सार्वजनिक आरोग्याच्या दृष्टीने व सुरक्षेसाठी हा परिसर सील करण्याचे आदेश शुक्रवारी मनपा आयुक्त तुकाराम मुंढे यांनी जारी केले.
शासकीय व निमशासकीय सेवेतील अत्यावश्यक सेवेत कार्यरत असणारे अधिकारी व कर्मचारी, आवश्यक तातडीची वैद्यकीय कारणे तसेच अंत्यविधी, वैद्यकीय सेवेशी संबंधित खाजगी डॉक्टर, परिचारिका, मेडिकल स्टोअर्स दुकानदार, पॅथॉलॉजिस्ट, रुग्णवाहिका, पोलीस विभागामार्फत पासधारक असलेले जीवनावश्यक वस्तूंचा पुरवठा करणारे व्यक्ती यांना या आदेशातून वगळण्यात आले आहे.

नागपूर :कापूस उत्पादक शेतकऱ्यांकडे असलेला कापूस राज्य शासनाच्या निर्देशानुसार जिल्ह्यातील १५ केंद्रांवर खरेदी करण्यात येत असून येत्या १५ ते २० दिवसांत शेतकऱ्यांकडील संपूर्ण कापूस खरेदी करण्यात येणार असल्याची माहिती जिल्हाधिकारी रवींद्र ठाकरे यांनी शुक्रवारी दिली.
कापूस उत्पादक शेतकऱ्यांकडून कापूस पणन महासंघ व पीसीआयमार्फत कापसाची खरेदी जिल्ह्यात सुरू करण्यात आली आहे. जिल्ह्यात कोविड-१९ नंतर ३९ हजार ३५२ शेतकऱ्यांची नोंदणी करण्यात आली असून त्यापैकी ३ हजार ५०४ शेतकऱ्यांकडून कापसाची खरेदी करण्यात आली आहे. अद्याप २५ हजार ६४८ शेतकऱ्यांकडून कापूस खरेदीची प्रक्रिया सुरू आहे. कापूस खरेदी करताना नोंदणीकृत शेतकऱ्यांकडूनच कापसाची खरेदी करण्याचे निर्देश दिले असून व्यापारी अथवा बाहेरुन येणाऱ्या राज्यातील कापूस खरेदी करण्यात येऊ नये यादृष्टीने आवश्यक खबरदारी घेण्यात आली आहे. रविवार वगळता इतर सुटीच्या दिवशी कापूस खरेदी सुरू राहणार असल्याची माहिती जिल्हाधिकारी रवींद्र ठाकरे ठाकरे यांनी दिली.
कापूस खरेदीसाठी १५ जिनिंग व प्रेसिंग येथे व्यवस्था करण्यात आली आहे. यासाठी आवश्यक ग्रेडर कृषी विभागामार्फत नियुक्त करण्यात आले आहेत. शेतकऱ्यांनी उत्पादित कापूस खरेदीसाठी आणताना सोशल डिस्टन्सिंगचे नियम पाळणे बंधनकारक असल्याचेही जिल्हाधिकाऱ्यांनी सांगितले.
जगभरात कोरोना विषाणूने अक्षरश: थैमान घातले आहे. या कोरोना विषाणूचा प्रादुर्भाव दिवसेंदिवस अधिकच वाढत आहे. तर मागील २४ तासांत देशात तब्बल ६ हजार ०८८ नवे कोरोनाबाधित रुग्ण आढळले आहेत. तर १४८ जणांचा कोरोनामुळे मृत्यू झाला आहे. त्यामुळे देशात कोरोना रुग्णांची संख्या १ लाख १८ हजारांपेक्षा अधिक वाढली आहे. शुक्रवारी आरोग्य मंत्रालयाने जाहीर केलेल्या माहितीनुसार आता एकूण रुग्णांची संख्या १ लाख १८ हजार ४४७ आहे. यापैकी १ हजार ५८३ लोकांनी आपला जीव गमावला आहे. तर आतापर्यंत ४८ हजार ५३४ लोकं बरे झाले आहेत.
दरम्यान, देशात तिसरे लॉकडाऊन ३ मे रोजी संपले आणि चौथे लॉकडाऊन ४ मे पासून सुरु झाले. त्यानंतर या लॉकडाऊनमध्ये कोरोना रुग्णांमध्ये मोठ्या संख्येने वाढ झाली आहे. गेल्या काही दिवसांपासून रुग्णांची संख्या दररोज ५ हजारांच्या पुढे जात आहे. बुधवारीही ५ हजार ६११ रुग्ण वाढले होते. तर गुरुवारी ५ हजार ६०९ रुग्ण वाढले होते. तर सध्या देशात ६६ हजार ३३० रुग्णांवर उपचार सुरु आहेत.
एका दिवसात ६ हजार नवे रुग्ण
देशात कोरोनाच्या रुग्णांमध्ये मोठी वाढ होत आहे. गेल्या २४ तासांत तब्बल ६ हजार ०८८ नव्या रुग्णांची नोंद झाली आहे.
महाराष्ट्राची रुग्णसंख्या
महाराष्ट्रात सर्वाधिक म्हणजे ४१ हजार ६४२ रुग्ण आहेत. २४ तासांत २ हजार ३४५ रुग्ण वाढले आहेत. गुजरातमध्ये एकूण १२ हजार ९१० रुग्ण आहेत. तर २४ तासांत ३७१ रुग्ण येथे वाढले आहेत. तर तामिळनाडूमध्ये १३ हजार ९६७ पेक्षा जास्त रुग्ण आहेत. २४ तासांत ७७६ नवीन रुग्णांची नोंद झाली आहे.
India 2020 :Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) on Friday announced that private equity firm KKR will invest Rs 11,367 crore in Jio Platforms for a 2.32 per cent stake.
This will be the fifth investment in RIL in succession, following those by social media major Facebook, private equity funds Silver Lake, Vista Equity Partners and General Atlantic.
“This transaction values Jio Platforms at an equity value of Rs4.91 lakh crore and an enterprise value of Rs 5.16 lakh crore. This is KKR’s largest investment in Asia and will translate into a 2.32 per cent equity stake in Jio Platforms on a fully diluted basis,” RIL said in a release on Friday.
With the latest deal, Jio Platforms will get a combined Rs 78,562 crore from the five investments. The RIL unit comprises mostly its telecom business under Reliance Jio Infocomm, which is the largest in the country with more than 388 million subscribers.
Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani in a statement on Friday said, “KKR shares our ambitious goal of building a premier Digital Society in India. KKR has a proven track record of being a valuable partner to industry-leading franchises and has been committed to India for many years. We are looking forward to leveraging KKR’s global platform, industry knowledge and operational expertise to further grow Jio.”
The transaction is subject to regulatory and other customary approvals, the company said.
Prior to this, General Atlantic on May 18 said it will buy 1.34 per cent stake in Jio Platforms for Rs 6,598.38 crore, while Vista Equity Partners said on May 8 it will be picking up a 2.32 per cent stake for Rs 11,367 crore.
Prior to that, US private equity firm Silver Lake said it will invest Rs 5,655.75 crore in Jio Platforms for a 1.15 per cent stake and on April 22, Facebook said it would invest USD 5.7 billion for a 9.99 per cent stake.
RIL opened its Rs 53,215 crore rights issue for subscription on Monday in an effort to achieve debt-free status in close to a year.
The total capital raised by RIL after its last four deals amounted to Rs 1,20,320 crore. The company had total debt of Rs 1,61,035 crore at the end of FY 20.
s part of the proposed rights issue, RIL shareholders were offered a new share for every 15 held at Rs 1,257 a share. This is the first rights issue by RIL in three decades. The issue was structured as partly paid shares and enabled shareholders to phase out the outlay on their investment over a period of time.

India 2020:Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today travel to West Bengal and Odisha to take stock of the situation in the wake of Cyclone Amphan wreaking havoc in the two states as the death toll climbed to 76, 19 of them in Kolkata alone.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is expected to receive the Prime Minister and will tour the affected areas with him, after asking Modi on Thursday to visit the state and witness the devastation for himself.
“He will conduct aerial surveys and take part in review meetings, where aspects of relief and rehabilitation will be discussed,” the PMO said in a tweet on Thursday.
Cyclone Amphan has left 72 people dead and thousands homeless in West Bengal, battering several parts of the state and washing away bridges and swamping low-lying areas. It also wreaked havoc in Odisha damaging power and telecom infrastructure in several coastal districts.
The extremely severe cyclonic storm has weakened and moved to Bangladesh, said the India Meterological Department (IMD). The fiercest cyclone to hit Bengal in 100 years destroyed mud houses and crops, and uprooted trees and electric poles.
According to initial estimates by the West Bengal government, Amphan has caused a loss of at least Rs 1 lakh crore. The state, already reeling from revenue loss due to Covid-19, has asked the Centre for financial help.
This will be Modi’s first visit outside the national capital after the coronavirus lockdown was imposed on the midnight of March 24.
Sources in the government said Modi will first reach Bengal in the morning and then go to Odisha in the afternoon. Besides North and South 24 Parganas and Kolkata, the districts of East Midnapore and Howrah were the worst hit in Bengal as portions of several dilapidated buildings came crashing down in several places.
In a series of tweets on Thursday, Modi said no stone will be left unturned in helping those affected by cyclone Amphan. “Have been seeing visuals from West Bengal on the devastation caused by Cyclone Amphan,” he tweeted.
Banerjee, who has been monitoring the situation at state secretariat Nabanna since Tuesday night, said the impact of Amphan was “worse than coronavirus”.
Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim said more than 14 lakh people in the city are living without electricity since Wednesday night. “The entire city has been devastated. Around 4,000 trees have been uprooted in Kolkata. We are short of staff due to the Lockdown. It will take some time to restore normalcy,” he said.
Packing heavy rain and winds with speeds of up to 190 kmph, the cyclone barrelled through coastal districts of North and South 24 Parganas of Bengal and Odisha on Wednesday unleashing copious rain and windstorm.
The National Crisis Management Committee (NCMC) reviewed the rescue and relief operations in Bengal and Odisha at a meeting in Delhi and was told that minimal loss of lives was reported due to accurate forecast by the IMD and timely deployment of NDRF troops.
नागपूर, ता. २१ :महाराष्ट्र शासनातर्फे लॉकडाउन संबंधिचे नवीन आदेश निर्गमीत करण्यात आले असून नागपूर शहर रेड झोनमध्येच राहणार असल्याचे स्पष्ट झाले आहे. हे आदेश २२ मे पासून अंमलात येणार आहेत. या आदेशामुळे नागपूर महानगरपालिकेच्या हद्दीमध्ये रेड झोन संबंधीचे आदेश लागू राहतील, अशी माहिती मनपा आयुक्त तुकाराम मुंढे यांनी दिली. नवीन आदेशानुसार खाजगी कार्यालये पूर्णत: बंद राहणार आहेत. तसेच मार्केट, मॉल्स, टॅक्सी सेवा बंद राहणार असून फक्त स्टॅन्डअलोन स्वरूपातील दुकाने (ती ही एका ओळोत जीवनावश्यक सेवेशी संबंधित दुकाने वगळता जास्तीत जास्त पाच) सुरू राहतील, असेही आदेशात नमूद केले आहे.
महाराष्ट्र शासनातर्फे १९ मे रोजी निर्गमीत करण्यात आलेल्या आदेशामध्ये नागपूरला रेड झोनमधून वगळण्यात आले होते. मात्र शहरात वाढते कोरोनाचे रुग्ण आणि त्यामुळे वाढता संसर्गाचा धोका लक्षात घेता सार्वजनिक आरोग्याच्या दृष्टीने नागपूरला रेड झोनमध्येच ठेवण्याची विनंती आयुक्त तुकाराम मुंढे यांनी राज्य शासनाला केली होती. त्यानुसार गुरूवारी (ता.२१) रात्री उशीरा निर्गमीत करण्यात आलेल्या आदेशामध्ये नागपूर शहर रेड झोनमध्ये कायम असल्याचे स्पष्ट झाले आहे. आता शहरात खाजगी कार्यालये बंद राहणार असून अत्यावश्यक सेवेशी संबंधित शासकीय/निमशासकीय कार्यालये वगळता इतर शासकीय कार्यालये केवळ ५ टक्के कर्मचारी क्षमतेसहच तसेच जास्ती दहा कर्मचारी उपस्थितीसह सुरू राहणार आहेत.
यापूर्वी १७ मे रोजी दिलेल्या आदेशानुसार स्टॅन्डअलोन स्वरूपात इलेक्ट्रिक सामुग्रीची दुकाने, हार्डवेअर आणि बिल्डिंग मटेरिअल, संगणक, मोबाईल, होम अम्प्लायन्सेस दुरूस्ती, (केवळ सोमवार, बुधवार, शुक्रवार), ऑटो स्पेअर्स आणि रिपेअर शॉप, टायर शॉप, ऑईल आणि लुब्रिकेन्ट्स शॉप (मंगळवार, गुरुवार, शनिवार आणि रविवार), ऑप्टिकल, स्टेशनरी आणि होजियारी शॉप (मंगळवार, गुरुवार, शनिवार, रविवार) अशाप्रकारे परवानगी देण्यात आली होती. परंतू आता यामध्ये बदल होणार असून दिवसाचे वर्गीकरण हटविण्यात आले आहे. तसेच स्टॅन्डअलोन स्वरूपातील सर्व प्रकारची दुकाने सुरू ठेवता येणार आहे.
प्रतिबंधित क्षेत्राव्यतिरिक्त अन्य ठिकाणी जीवनावश्यक वस्तूंव्यतिरिक्त ज्या बाबींना परवानगी देण्यात आली आहे ती प्रतिष्ठाने फक्त सकाळी ७ ते रात्री ७ या वेळेत सुरु राहतील. जिल्हाअंतर्गत आणि जिल्ह्याबाहेरील प्रवासी वाहतूक, कॅब आणि टॅक्सी सेवा, थिएटर, मॉल, जलतरण हौद, जिम आदींना मात्र परवानगी राहणार नाही.
सायंकाळी ७ ते सकाळी ७ पर्यंत ‘नाईट कर्फ्यू’
नवीन आदेशानुसार शहरात सायंकाळी ७ ते सकाळी ७ वाजतापर्यंत ‘नाईट कर्फ्यू’ राहणार असून अत्यावश्यक सेवा वगळता नागरिकांच्या आवागमनावर बंदी राहणार आहे. आयुक्त तुकाराम मुंढे यांनी ‘नाईट कर्फ्यू’च्या काटेकोर पालना संबंधी पोलिस प्रशासनालाही आदेश दिले आहे. या आदेशाचे उल्लंघन करणा-यावर कारवाई सुद्धा पोलिस विभागामार्फत होणार आहे.
प्रतिबंधित क्षेत्रात कोणतीही शिथिलता नाही
प्रतिबंधित क्षेत्रामध्ये अत्यावश्यक सेवा वगळता अन्य कोणत्याही सेवेला परवानगी देण्यात आली नाही. प्रतिबंधित क्षेत्रामधून कोणत्याही व्यक्तीला बाहेर जाता येणार नाही किंवा बाहेरीला व्यक्तीला प्रतिबंधित क्षेत्रात प्रवेश दिला जाणार नाही.

– अंत्यविधी प्रसंगी सोशल डिस्टंसिंगचे काटेकोर पालन करून ५० पेक्षा जास्त व्यक्ती उपस्थित राहू नये
– सार्वजनिक ठिकाणी दारू, पान, तंबाखू आदींच्या सेवनाला बंदी
– दुकानांमध्ये दोन व्यक्तींमध्ये किमान ६ फुट अंतर राखणे तसेच एकावेळी ५ पेक्षा जास्त व्यक्तींना परवानगी नाही

नागपूर, ता. २१:कार्यकारी महापौर मनीषा कोठे यांनी गुरूवारी (ता.२१) मनपाच्या आयसोलेशन हॉस्पीटलला भेट देउन रुग्णालयाच्या कार्याची पाहणी केली. याप्रसंगी स्थायी समिती सभापती विजय (पिंटू) झलके, सत्तापक्ष नेते संदीप जाधव, आरोग्य समिती सभापती वीरेंद्र कुकरेजा, धंतोली झोन सभापती लता काडगाये, उपायुक्त घनकचरा व्यवस्थापन डॉ.प्रदीप दासरवार तसेच हॉस्पीटलमधील वैद्यकीय अधिकारी उपस्थित होते.
आयसोलेशन हॉस्पीटलमध्ये वैद्यकीय सेवा सुरू असून निर्माण कार्य सुद्धा सुरू आहे. रुग्णालयामध्ये ‘अँटी रॅबिज इंजेक्शन’ व औषधांचा पुरवठा तात्काळ सुरू करण्यात यावा, असे निर्देश यावेळी कार्यकारी महापौर मनीषा कोठे यांनी दिले. सद्याच्या परिस्थितीमध्ये हॉस्पीटलमधील कर्मचारी सुमारे १२-१२ तास सेवा देत आहेत. त्यामुळे रुग्णालयात कर्मचा-यांची संख्याही वाढविण्याचे निर्देश त्यांनी दिले.
याशिवाय मनपाच्या बाभुळखेडा नागरी प्राथमिक आरोग्य केंद्रालाही कार्यकारी महापौरांसह सर्व मान्यवरांनी भेट दिली. बाभुळखेडा प्राथमिक आरोग्य केंद्राची सुरक्षा भिंत तुटलेली असल्याने सुरक्षेच्या दृष्टीने ती तात्काळ दुरूस्त करण्यात यावी, असेही निर्देश यावेळी देण्यात आले. शहरातील इतर रुग्णालयांच्या सुविधांविषयी यावेळी कार्यकारी महापौर मनीषा कोठे यांनी वैद्यकीय अधिका-यांशी चर्चा केली. मनपातील नागरी प्राथमिक आरोग्य केंद्रांमध्ये सेवा देण्यात येत आहे. येथील सुविधेबाबत नागरिकांकडून समाधान व्यक्त करण्यात येत आहे. शिवाय मनपाच्या आरोग्य केंद्रांमधून शहराबाहेर प्रवास करणा-यांना वैद्यकीय प्रमाणपत्र देण्यात येत आहे, त्याचाही आढावा कार्यकारी महापौरांनी घेतला.

India, May 2020: Earlier this week, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) released its latest order for regulations to be followed during Lockdown 4.0. Among the various sections, one of the key points was around the use of Aarogya Setu on phones, going forward. Following the past order’s decision by the Indian government to make downloading of Aarogya Setu compulsory for all employees (both private and public), the new order dated May 17, 2020 switched the government’s decision from mandatory to best effort basis.
This ruling led many to assume that the central government has “softened” its stance on the use of the Aarogya Setu app. However, a closer look reveals the government’s appreciation of the on-ground situation, where nearly 55 percent of all mobile phone users still use feature phones, and close to a quarter of the population still do not have mobile phones.
THE FEATURE PHONE PROBLEM
Elucidating the connectivity problem, Navkendar Singh, director of research at IDC India, told, “There are about 550 million feature phone users in the market in India, and somewhere between 450-500 million smartphone users, which is less than half the mobile phone market size in India.”
Even as Aarogya Setu was stated to have crossed the 100 million registered users mark, this covers less than 8 percent of the total population of India. To make matters worse, Singh adds that the adoption of more smartphones in India isn’t really happening. He says, “The growth in the number of smartphone users is not happening. Whoever needs and can afford a smartphone right now, already has one — but, nobody is really doing anything for the so-called “next billion” demographic of India. Out of India’s 550 million feature phone users, about 40-50 percent of them are using devices that cost less than Rs 1,000. For smartphones, even a bad user experience, low-cost smartphone would cost at least Rs 3,500-4,000. The cost of a smartphone for the feature phone demographic is actually too high.”
it is this issue that prevents app-based contact tracing from being mandatorily enforced. For example, as factories and supply chains are being opened up, many daily wage and low-salary workers would be coming back to work. However, not all of them would have smartphones at hand, and it hardly seems possible to mandate the use of smartphones all across the country, just to get the contact tracing app installed. In some corners, the government’s rebranding of the status of Aarogya Setu installation is being seen as just this — not a step-down from its previous order, but a realignment to accommodate the reopening of various sectors.
Singh says that while the stagnation in India’s smartphone adoption was expected to happen in 2021, the Covid-19 pandemic has only brought it forward. As a result, it will be difficult to use technology to track the coronavirus in a country where the statistical majority still live without it. Moreover, issues such as the ongoing migrant crisis across India further underline why the mandatory use of Aarogya Setu for travel across the country is also a difficult idea to implement.
WHY THE ‘BEST EFFORTS’ APPROACH MIGHT NOT WORK
As Apar Gupta, lawyer and executive director of the Internet Freedom Foundation (IFF) explains, “Legally, “best efforts” implies that if you fail to follow the government’s suggestion in certain circumstances, there are no legal consequences to be pursued, and the suggestion works in good faith. Hence, there is ambiguity in the explanation of Aarogya Setu’s scope right now. Giving discretion to employers can create trouble for small and medium businesses, since it hands over more power to authorities such as district magistrates, who may then hold an employer accountable for not following a suggested procedure.”
Gupta states that in order to implement a “best effort basis” operation of the Aarogya Setu app, it is critical to have a standard operating procedure (SOP) issued. The SOP would then work as a guideline for all purposes linked to Aarogya Setu. However, even before the SOP is issued, what needs to be taken into account is the fact that most Indians, particularly in the unorganised and daily wage sectors, do not even own a smartphone.
Gupta further observes that the recent revision of the government’s stance on Aarogya Setu has come without much fanfare. He says, “The MHA has still not issued a press statement explaining the rationale behind revising the Aarogya Setu usage basis. What we can infer is that while it places the obligation of implementing the app on employers, this will only raise obstacles due to logistical difficulties.”
The petition that IFF filed against the compulsory Aarogya Setu mandate with the Kerala High Court was also done from an employer’s end, highlighting exactly how difficult contact tracing of Covid-19 would be in India. With a stagnated number of smartphone users, unclear guidelines towards employers and continuing concerns about privacy, contact tracing in India looks set to be a job half done, at its very best.
नागपूर : विदर्भात कोरोना रुग्णांची संख्या दिवसेंदिवस वाढतच आहे. नागपूर शहरात सर्वाधिक रुग्ण वाढत असताना चंद्रपूर आणि गडचिरोली जिल्ह्यातील दररोज रुग्ण वाढत असल्याचे दिसून येत आहेत. आजवर कोरोनामुक्त असलेल्या गडचिरोली जिल्ह्यात मागील तीन-चार दिवसांपासून सतत रुग्ण वाढत असल्याचे दिसत आहे. आज नागपुरात आठ, चंद्रपुरात नऊ रुग्ण तर गडचिरोलीत एक असे एकूण अठरा रुग्ण आढळून आले आहेत. यामुळे प्रशासनाची चिंता चांगलीच वाढली आहे.
चंद्रपूर : चंद्रपूर जिल्ह्यात गुरुवारी सकाळी नऊ जणांचे अहवान पॉझिटिव्ह आले आहेत. हे सर्व रुग्ण चंद्रपुरातील क्वारंटाईन सेंटरमध्ये दाखल होते. आता जिल्ह्यातील रुग्णांची संख्या 12 झाली आहे. यातील पहिल्या रुग्णाच्या दोन्ही चाचण्या निगेटिव्ह आल्या आहेत. जिल्ह्यात 20 मे रोजी कोरोना पॉझिटिव्ह रुग्णांची संख्या तीन होती.
वन अकादमीमध्ये 19 मे रोजी संस्थात्मक अलगीकरण करण्यात आलेले चार नागरिक नाशिक मालेगाव एमआयडीसीमध्ये काम करीत होते. भंडारा जिल्हाधिकारी कार्यालयाने हे चार नागरिक पॉझिटिव्ह रुग्णाच्या संपर्कात आल्याचा संशय व्यक्त केला होता. त्यामुळे वन अकादमीमध्ये ठेवण्यात आले होते. हे चार नागरिक चिरोली (मूल), जाम (पोंभुर्णा), विसापूर (चंद्रपूर) विरवा (सिंदेवाही) परिसरातील आहेत.
पुणे येथून आलेले पती-पत्नी वरोरा येथे यापूर्वी संस्थात्मक विलगीकरणात होते. सध्या वैद्यकीय महाविद्यालयात उपचार घेत आहेत. चंद्रपूर जिल्ह्यातील ताडाळी परिसरातील एक वीस वर्षीय मुलगी सध्या वैद्यकीय महाविद्यालयात उपचार घेत आहे. तसेच आरवट येथील एकवीस वर्षाचा युवक ठाण्यावरून परत आला होता. तोही वैद्यकीय महाविद्यालयात उपचार घेत आहे. ब्रह्मपुरी तालुक्यातील 21 वर्षीय युवक दिल्लीवरून परत आला होता. सध्या वैद्यकीय महाविद्यालयात, चंद्रपूर येथे उपचार घेत आहे.
नागरिकांनी घाबरू नये
हे सर्व रुग्ण संस्थात्मक विलगीकरणात (इन्स्टिट्यूशनल कॉरंटाइन) आहेत. 19 मे रोजी यांचे स्वॅब घेण्यात आले होते. सर्व नागरिक बाहेरून आले आहेत. त्यांच्यावर योग्य उपचार सुरू आहेत. नागरिकांनी घाबरून जाऊ नये.
नागरिक विलगीकरणात
काला रात्री उशिरा नागपूर येथून प्राप्त अहवालामध्ये नऊ पॉझिटिव्ह रुग्ण आढळून आले आहेत. हे नऊ रुग्ण संस्थात्मक विलगीकरणात आहेत. यापैकी पाच जण वैद्यकीय महाविद्यालयात चंद्रपूर येथे उपचार घेत आहेत. तर चार जण वन अकादमीच्या नव्या इमारतीत संस्थात्मक विलगीकरणात आहेत.
नागपूर :शहरात दिवसेंदिवस कोरोनाचा आकड फुगत चालला आहे. बुधवारी शहरात तब्बल 13 जण कोरोना पॉझिटिव्ह आढळले होते. यात गुरुवारी आठ रुग्णांची भर पडली. यामुळे शहरातची चिंता चांगलीच वाढली आहे. आज झालेल्या वाढमुळे एकूण रुग्ण संस्या 395 झाली आहे. नागपूर लवकरच चारशे पल्ला गाठेल यात कोणतीही शंका नाही. समाधानाची बाब म्हणजे शहरात मृत्यूदर खूप कमी आहे. जवळपासू चारशे पॉझिटिव्ह रुग्ण आढळून आले असताना फक्त सात जणांना आपला जीव गमवावा लागला आहे.
गडचिरोली : आजवर कोरोनामुक्त असलेल्या गडचिरोली जिल्ह्यातही कोरोनाने शिरकाव केल्याने चिंता व्यक्त करण्यात येत आहे. गुरुवारी जिल्ह्यात एक रुग्ण पॉझिटिव्ह आढळला आहे. जिल्ह्यात मुंबई येथून आलेल्या प्रवाशांनी प्रशासनाची झोप उडवली आहे. आजचा रुग्ण धरून जिल्ह्यात पॉझिटिव्ह रुग्णाचा आकडा नऊवर जाऊन पोहोचला आहे.
बुलडाणा :कोरोना विषाणू संसर्गामुळे राज्यात निर्माण झालेल्या आपत्कालीन परिस्थितीमुळे साथरोग अधिनियम लागू करण्यात आला आहे. भारत सरकारच्या आरोग्य आणि कुटूंब कल्याण मंत्रालयाच्या 15 एप्रिल 2020 च्या पत्रानुसार मागील 28 दिवसापासून जर एकही नविन कोविडचा रूग्ण आढळून आला नाही, तर सदरचा कंटेन्टमेंट झोन कमी करण्यात येतो. त्यानुसार जिल्ह्यात कोरोना रूग्ण आढळून आलेल्या क्षेत्रामध्ये कंटेन्टमेंट झोन जाहीर करण्यात आले होते.
जिल्ह्यात एकूण 13 झोन आहेत. त्यापैकी 7 झोनमध्ये मागील 28 दिवसांत एकही कोविडचा रूग्ण आढळून न आल्यामुळे हे झोन वगळण्यात आले आहेत. त्यामध्ये जुना गांव बुलडाणा, हकीम कॉलनी देऊळगांव राजा, चितोडा ता. खामगांव, इदगाह प्लॉट शेगांव, कुरेशी गल्ली सिंदखेड राजा, तहसिल कार्यालय परीसर मलकापूर आणि आंबेडकर नगर देऊळगांव राजा या झोनचा समावेश आहे.
या कंटेन्टमेंट झोनमधून वगळण्यात आलेले क्षेत्र पुढील आदेशापर्यंत ऑरेंज झोन म्हणून निश्चित करण्यात येत आहे. त्यामुळे शासनाने वेळोवेळी ऑरेंज झोनसाठी दिलेल्या आदेशामध्ये लागू असणारे सर्व नियम, अटी व शर्ती सदर क्षेत्रासाठी लागू राहणार आहेत, असे जिल्हादंडाधिकारी यांनी आदेशान्वये कळविले आहे.
नागपूर, ता. २० :राज्य शासनाच्या निर्देशानुसार लॉकडाऊनमध्ये टप्प्याटप्प्याने शिथिलता देऊन शहरातील आर्थिक बाबींना चालना देण्याचे कार्य नागपूर महानगरपालिकेच्या वतीने करण्यात येत आहे. आतापर्यंत मनपाने स्टॅन्डअलोन प्रकारची बांधकाम साहित्य, हार्डवेअर, होजियरी दुकाने, स्टेशनरी, इलेक्ट्रिकल, संगणक, मोबाईल आणि होम अप्लायंसेस दुरुस्तीची दुकाने अटी व शर्तीवर उघडण्यास दि. 17 मे च्या आदेशान्वये परवानगी दिली आहे. सदर अनुज्ञेय दुकानदारांनी, आस्थापना प्रमुखांनी सोशल डिस्टनसींग, मास्कचा वापर, परिसर निर्जूंतीकरण करणे, सॅनिटॉझरचा वापर इ. निर्देशांचे पालन करणे बंधनकारक असून त्याच अटीवर सदर अनुज्ञेता करण्यात आली होती. मात्र काही ठिकाणी कोव्हिड-१९ संदर्भात शासनाने दिलेल्या दिशानिर्देशांचे पालन होत नसल्याची बाब प्रशासनाच्या निर्दशनास आली आहे. जर दुकानदार, खासगी कार्यालयांनी दिशानिर्देशांचे पालन केले नाही तर त्यांच्या विरोधात भारतीय दंड संहिता, आपत्ती व्यवस्थापन व नियंत्रण तसेच साथरोग नियंत्रण कायद्यान्वये कारवाई करण्यात येईल, असा इशारा मनपा आयुक्त तुकाराम मुंढे यांनी दिला आहे.
यासंदर्भातील आदेश मनपा आयुक्तांनी बुधवारी (ता. २०) जारी केले आहेत. मनपाच्या निदर्शनास आल्यानुसार, जी दुकाने सुरू झालेली आहेत, त्या दुकानांमध्ये दिशानिर्देशांचे पालन होत नाही. सामाजिक अंतर पाळले जात नाही, मास्क न वापऱणाऱ्यांनाही दुकानात प्रवेश दिला जातो, दुकानातील काही कर्मचारीसुद्धा मास्कचा वापर करीत नसल्याचे आढळून आले आहे. रात्री ७ वाजतानंतर संचारबंदीचे आदेश असताना ब-याच व्यक्ती विनाकारण रस्त्यावर फिरताना आढळत आहेत. संबंधीत कार्यक्षेत्रात दिशानिर्देशांचे उल्लंघन होत असल्यामुळे कोरोनाचा प्रसार होण्याची शक्यता नाकारता येत नाही. दिशानिर्देशांचे पालन करणे आणि दुकानात येणाऱ्या ग्राहकांना नियमांचे पालन करण्यास भाग पाडणे, ही जबाबदारी पूर्णत: दुकानदारांची आहे. यापुढे यात कसूर होताना आढळल्यास संबंधित दुकानदारांच्या, आस्थापना प्रमुखांच्या तसेच संबंधीत बेजवाबादार व्यक्तींच्या विरोधात भादंवि १८६०, आपत्ती व्यवस्थापन कायदा २००५ आणि साथरोग नियंत्रण कायदा १८९७ अंतर्गत कारवाई करण्याबाबत पोलीस आयुक्त नागपूर यांना मनपा आयुक्त तुकाराम मुंढे यांनी निर्देश दिले आहेत. हा आदेश लॉकडाऊन संपण्याच्या कालावधीपर्यंत अर्थात ३१ मे पर्यंत लागू राहणार असल्याचेही आदेशात म्हटले आहे.
सद्यास्थितीत कोरोना विषाणू प्रार्दुभावाचा धोका पुर्णत: टळला नसल्याने सर्वांनी आवश्यक खबरदारी घेणे व नियमांचे पालन करणे आवश्यक असून सर्व संबंधीतांनी आवश्यक सहकार्य करण्याचे आवाहन मनपा आयुक्त तुकाराम मुंढे यांनी केले असून जे व्यक्ती, संस्था यांना सहकार्य करणार नाही व निर्देशांचे पालन करणार नाही त्यांचे विरुध्द कारवाई सुध्दा होणार असल्याची माहिती त्यांनी दिली आहे.

“Right now many small businesses are struggling, and with stores closing, more are looking to bring their business online. Our goal is to make shopping seamless and empower anyone from a small business owner to a global brand to use our apps to connect with customers, says Facebook in an official statement.
WHAT EXACTLY ARE FACEBOOK SHOPS?
Simply put, this will be an online store for customers that businesses can set up on the Facebook platform. Customers will be able to access these stores via the Facebook and Instagram apps. The social network also says the Facebook Shops will be available on Messenger and WhatsApp sometime soon. These stores will appear on business pages and through targeted ads.
“People can find Facebook Shops on a business’ Facebook Page or Instagram profile, or discover them through stories or ads. From there, you can browse the full collection, save products you’re interested in and place an order — either on the business’ website or without leaving the app if the business has enabled checkout in the US.,” says Facebook.
WHAT IF I NEED HELP WHILE SHOPPING?
If you have a query while shopping on Facebook Shops, you will be able to message a business through WhatsApp, Messenger or Instagram Direct to ask questions, get support, track deliveries and more. “And in the future, you’ll be able to view a business’ shop and make purchases right within a chat in WhatsApp, Messenger or Instagram Direct,” says Facebook.
“We’re starting to roll out Facebook Shops today, and it will be more widely available in the coming months,” says the social network. At this time, the focus is on widening the number of businesses on the Facebook Shop platform.
INSTAGRAM SHOP IS ALSO COMING?
Facebook is also launching Instagram Shop this summer in the US. It will be integrated in the Instagram Explore tab. “You can get inspired by collections from @shop, browse selections from your favorite brands and creators, filter by categories like beauty and home, and purchase the looks you love all in one place,” they say.
WHAT IS THE BUSINESS SIDE OF THINGS?
Facebook is working with partners including Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, ChannelAdvisor, CedCommerce, Cafe24, Tienda Nube and Feedonomics to provide support to smaller businesses who may need to move online. “These organizations offer powerful tools to help entrepreneurs start and run their businesses and move online. Now they’ll help small businesses build and grow their Facebook Shops and use our other commerce tools,” says Facebook.
This is the evolution from ‘Like’ to ‘Buy’ that Facebook is seriously looking at. With customizable storefronts, businesses will get an option to reach an even wider demographic of potential buyers on the world’s most popular social media platform. Global rollout details are still awaited, but the Shops should be rolling out on Facebook in the US anytime now. This could be a good strategy at a time when advertising revenues may have been hit as businesses that otherwise advertise heavily on the social network, may have pulled back.
HOW ABOUT PRIVACY?
Facebook says they will use the data from your activity on Facebook Shops to personalize the experience on the Facebook family of apps and vice versa—and that would largely refer to the adverts and recommendations that you will see. They do say that none of your Facebook Shops activity will be shared on the social media platform, unless you choose to do so.
New Delhi:With 5,611 new cases of coronavirus reported in the last 24 hours, India`s COVID-19 tally reached 1,06,750 on Wednesday, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
As many as 140 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths to 3,303. Out of the total cases, 61,149 are actives cases and 42,298 patients have been cured/discharged/migrated.
Maharashtra continues to remain the worst-affected state with 37,136 cases, followed by Tamil Nadu (12,448 cases), Gujarat (12,140 cases), and Delhi (10,554 cases).
In Maharashtra, coronavirus cases climbed to 3,37,136, followed by Tamil Nadu with 12,448 cases and Gujarat with 12,140 cases so far. Maharashtra has the highest number of deaths at 1,249, followed by Gujarat`s 719 and Madhya Pradesh`s 258.
In Delhi, the total tally rose to 10,554. States with more than 4,000 cases each are Rajasthan (5,845), Madhya Pradesh (5,465) and Uttar Pradesh (4,926).
Other major states and Union Territories that have reported more than 1,000 cases each are West Bengal (2,961), Andhra Pradesh (2,532), Punjab (2,002), Telangana (1,634), Bihar (1,498), Jammu and Kashmir (1,317), and Karnataka (1,397).
Other states and UTs that have reported a significant number of corona cases are Haryana (964), Kerala (642), Odisha (978), Jharkhand (231), Chandigarh (200), Tripura (173), Assam (142), Chhattisgarh (101) and Uttarakhand (111).
While Goa is witnessing a resurgence of cases with at least 46 patients, Ladakh became COVID-19 free as all 43 patients were cured and no mortality reported.
Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram have zero active cases as their lone patients have since been cured. In Meghalaya, 12 of the 13 coronavirus patients were cured whereas one died. All 33 patients in the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands have been cured.
The nationwide lockdown imposed as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of coronavirus has been extended till May 31.
Mumbai :The corona virus has increased lockdown in the country. Therefore, there is a time of starvation for the laborers with stomachs on their hands. So they are struggling to get back to their hometowns. Like a sheep or a goat, they are on a lifelong journey on foot or in a mule. Many photos of these workers on foot have gone viral on social media. Everyone’s mind is hurting when they see that photo. An Indian cricketer has taken to the streets to help such migrants.
Tejinder Singh Dhillon, an all-rounder from Kings XI Punjab, takes to the streets to feed the migrant workers. It has so far distributed food and water to 10,000 migrant workers. The 27-year-old from Rajasthan is seen standing on the highway and distributing food to the laborers. He said, “The main highway in Kanpur is 100 meters from my house. Many laborers on their way home from Delhi are seen going this way. I told my family that we should do something for these workers. I then contacted my friends and planned to do something for them. “
“One person in our society has a vegetable business. I asked him to give me some potatoes and some vegetables. We collected about 50 kg of flour from the colony and we also distributed 1400 chapatis. On the first day we helped 1000 laborers and after that the number went up to 5000. It also included small children. We are also giving milk and syrup along with whole vegetables, ”he said.
नागपूर :कोरोना विषाणूच्या प्रादुभार्वामुळे राज्य माहिती आयोगाने आता ई-मेलद्वारे सुनावणी घेण्याचे निश्चित केले आहे. राज्य माहिती आयोग खंडपीठ नागपूर या कार्यालयाकडे प्रत्यक्ष न येता नागरिक आयोगाकडे ई-मेलच्या माध्यमातून अर्ज करू शकणार आहेत. जर अर्जदारांनी सर्व कागदपत्रांच्या छायांकित प्रती २० रुपयांचे स्टॅम्प लावून पाठविल्या तर तत्काळ सुनावणी आयोजित करण्याची व्यवस्था आयोगातर्फे करण्यात आली आहे.
‘लॉकडाऊन’ मुळे राज्य माहिती आयोग नागपूर कार्यालयाचे कामकाज २४ मार्चपासून बंद करण्यात आले होते. दर महिन्याला या कार्यालयात केंद्रीय माहितीचा अधिकार अधिनियमांचे कलम १९(३) च्या तरतुदींनुसार अंदाजे साडेतीनशेच्या जवळपास द्वितीय अपील अर्ज व कलम १८ नुसार माहितीसंबंधी तक्रारी व त्याअनुषंगाने इतरही टपाल दाखल होतात. पोस्टाचे व्यवहार बंद असल्याने कार्यालयात अत्यल्प प्रमाणात टपाल प्राप्त होत आहे. ‘लॉकडाऊन’मुळे नागरिकांना कार्यालयात येणे शक्य नाही. त्यामुळेच हा निर्णय घेण्यात आला आहे.
अंतरावरून अप्रत्यक्ष सुनावणीचा भाग म्हणून अपीलार्थी व तक्रारदार यांच्या अर्जावर संबंधित सार्वजनिक प्राधिकरणाला त्यांच्या कार्यालयीन ई-मेल आयडीवर विस्तृत नोटीस पाठविण्यात येत आहेत. तसेच सविस्तर खुलासेदेखील मागविण्यात येत आहेत. अनेक अपीलार्थी व तक्रारदार यांचे मोबाईल क्रमांक व ई-मेल आयडी अर्जांवर उपलब्ध नाहीत. त्यामुळे त्यांना संपर्क करण्यात मोठी अडचण निर्माण होत आहे. तसेच सर्व अपीलार्थी व तक्रारदार यांना ई-मेलवर नोटीस देणे, गरजेनुरूप अप्रत्यक्ष सुनावणीचा भाग म्हणून त्यांना व्हॉट्सअॅप कॉल करून ऐकून घेणे, श्राव्य सुनावणीचा भाग म्हणून साधा कॉल करून ऐकून घेण्यासाठी मोठी अडचण भासत होती. त्या पार्श्वभूमीवर कामकाज सुलभ करण्यासाठी आयोगाने ई-मेलद्वारे कामकाजाचा निर्णय घेतला असल्याचे राज्य माहिती आयोगाच्या उपसचिव रोहिणी जाधव यांनी कळविले आहे.
India 2020:India and Bangladesh evacuated around half a million people out of the way of the most powerful storm Amphan in a decade ahead of its landfall on Wednesday amid fears of heavy damage to houses and crops and disruption of road, rail and power links.
Approaching from the Bay of Bengal, Amphan is expected to make the landfall between West Bengal and Bangladesh with winds gusting up to 185 kmph. The wind speed packed in by Cyclone Amphan is equivalent of a category 5 hurricane.
The cyclone will generate sea waves as high as a two-storey house that could swamp mud dwellings along the coast, uproot communication towers and inundate roads and rail tracks.
Bangladesh authorities fear that Amphan will be the most powerful storm front since Cyclone Sidr devastated the country in 2007, killing about 3,500 people and causing billions of dollars in damage.
Here is a look at what makes cyclones deadly:
• Cyclones are low-pressure systems that form over warm tropical waters, with gale force winds near the centre. The winds can extend hundreds of kilometres (miles) from the eye of the storm. Sucking up vast quantities of water, they often produce torrential rains and flooding resulting in major loss of life and property damage. Tropical cyclones (hurricanes) are the most powerful weather events on Earth, according to NASA.
• Cyclones can unleash catastrophic storm surges – tsunami-like flooding – when they make landfall. The large swells move faster than the cyclone and are sometimes spotted up to 1,000 kilometres ahead of a major storm. The surge can extend for dozens of kilometres inland.
• Experts say that one of the reasons for cyclones to be so devastating is the favourable conditions in Bay of Bengal, like high sea surface temperatures. The tropical cyclone season in the Bay of Bengal and neighbouring Arabian Sea has two peaks around May and November, according to the World Meteorological Organisation. The cyclones can form in the western Pacific Ocean and travel in a northwest direction before arriving in the Bay of Bengal. Some reach the southeastern coast of India but others divert northeast and move up to West Bengal and Odisha states.
• Studies suggest a warming climate could bring more destructive cyclones as there would be extra heat in the oceans and atmosphere, although such systems could also become less frequent. Rising sea levels could boost storm surges from cyclones, making them even more deadly and destructive.
मुंबई :Coronavirus कोरोना विषाणूचा प्रादुर्भाव आणि त्या पार्श्वभूमीवर उदभवलेली एकंदर परिस्थिती पाहता उच्च, तंत्रशिक्षण मंत्री उदय सामंत यांनी अत्यंत महत्त्वाच्या घोषणा केली होती. अंतिम वर्षाच्या अंतिम टप्प्यातील परीक्षा वगळता इतर सर्व परीक्षा रद्द करण्यात आल्याची घोषआ केली होती. पण, आता या निर्णयात अतिशय महत्त्वाचा निर्णय घेतला गेल्याची माहिती सामंत यांनी दिली.
विद्यार्थ्यांच्या मनातील शंका आणि चांगल्या यंत्रणांसाठीही त्यांची मागणी विचाराधीन असल्याचं ते म्हणाले. अंतिम वर्षातील अंतिम सत्रातील परीक्षा या १ जुलै ते ३० जुलै या काळात घ्याव्यात असे आदेश युजीसीकडून देण्यात आले होते. त्यानुसारच परीक्षा घेण्याचे आदेश महाराष्ट्र राज्य शासनाकडून देण्यात आले होते.
सामंत यांच्या या निर्णयांनंतर अंतिम वर्षातील विद्यार्थ्यांमध्ये नाराजीचं आणि तणावाचं वातावरण पाहायला मिळालं. खुद्द पर्यावरण मंत्री आदित्य ठाकरे यांनीही विद्यार्थ्यांची बाजू उचलून धरली. ज्यानंतर आता महाराष्ट्र राज्यातून उच्च व तंत्रशिक्षण विभागाकडून एक पत्र लिहिण्यात आलं आहे. ज्यामध्ये त्यांनी अंतिम वर्षातील विद्यार्थ्यांची परीक्षा रद्द करण्याची मागणी केली आहे.
संपूर्ण राज्यात कोरोनाचा प्रादुर्भाव वाढत असताना आम्हाला अंतिम वर्षातील अंतिम सत्रातील परीक्षा घेणं शक्य होणार नाही. असा निर्णय घेतलाच तर, कोरोनाची वाढती संख्या पाहता विद्यार्थ्यांपुढे आणखी एक संकट असेल. त्यामुळे विद्यार्थ्यांच्या मनावर असणारं दडपण, ताण पाहता परीक्षा रद्द करण्यात यावी अशी विचारणा युजीसीकडे केल्याची माहिती सामंत यांनी फेसबुक लाईव्हच्या माध्यमातून दिली.
शिवाय विद्यार्थ्यांचं कोणत्याही प्रकारे नुकसान होणार नाही, अशा प्रकारती गुणवत्ता प्रक्रिया अंमलात आणावी, यासाठी आम्ही प्रयत्नशील असू असंही ते म्हणाले. राज्यातील जवळपास १० लाख विद्यार्थ्यांच्या आरोग्याचा विचार करता अंतिम परीक्षा न घेता त्यांना विद्यापीठ आयोगाच्या अनुदानाच्या मार्गदर्शक सुचनांनुसार ग्रेड प्रदान करण्याच्या पर्यायाला युजीसीनं मान्यता द्यावी असं विनंतीपर पत्र सामंत यांनी लिहिलं.
तेव्हा आता राज्य शासन युजीसीच्या उत्तराच्या प्रतिक्षेत असल्याचं स्पष्ट करत सामंत यांनी उच्च व तंत्रशिक्षण मंत्री म्हणून आपली भूमिका स्पष्ट केली.
सीईटीच्या परीक्षांसाठी महत्त्वाचे निर्णय
– जिल्हा स्तरावर होणारी ही परीक्षा आता तालुका स्तरावर होणार आहे
– तालुका स्तरावर परीक्षा घेताना सोशल डिस्टन्सिंगचे नियम पाळण्यात येणार आहेत
– ज्या विद्यार्थ्यांनी अभ्यासाठी दुसऱ्या शहराची निवड केली होती, पण लॉकडाऊनमुळं ते आपल्या घरी आहेत अशा विद्यार्थांना परीक्षा केंद्र बदलण्याची मुभा देण्यात येणार आहे.
– लॉकडाऊनमुळं विद्यार्थ्यांना केंद्रापर्यंत जाता येत नसल्याच त्यांना केंद्रापर्यंत नेण्याची जबाबदारी शिक्षण विभागातर्फे करण्यात येईल.
वैद्यकीय शिक्षण विभागाअंतर्गत येणाऱ्या पदव्युत्तर वैद्यकित आणि पदव्युत्तर दंत अभ्यासक्रमाची प्रवेश प्रक्रिया सुरु केल्याची बाब सामंत यांनी स्पष्ट केली. उर्वरित सीईटी परिक्षांच्या तारखाही लवकरच जाहीर करण्यात येणार असल्याची माहिती देत परीक्षा रद्द झालेल्या पण, या परीक्षांची फी भरलेल्या विद्यार्थ्यांची फी पुढील टर्मसाठी वापरण्यात येईल का अथवा ती परत करणं शक्य असे का असे विचार आपल्या विभागाकडून आणि मंत्रीमंडळाकडून केले जात असल्याची बाब त्यांनी अधोरेखित केली. विद्यार्थ्यांच्या आरोग्यालाच येथे सर्वतोपरी महत्त्वं देण्यात येणआर आहे असं सामंत म्हणाले.
नागपूर, ता. १९ :महाराष्ट्र शासनातर्फे लॉकडाउनमध्ये शिथिलता संबंधिचे नवीन आदेश मंगळवारी (ता.१९) निर्गमीत करण्यात आले आहेत. हे आदेश राज्यात २२ मे पासून अंमलात येणार आहेत. त्यामुळे सद्यातरी नागपूर रेड झोनमध्ये आहे. मागील चार ते पाच दिवसात शहरात तीन कोरोना पॉझिटिव्ह रुग्णांचा मृत्यू झाला आहे. शहरात अजूनही अनेक ‘हॉटस्पॉट’ आहेत. राज्य शासनाने १९ मे रोजी निर्गमित केलेल्या आदेशामध्ये रेड झोनमधून नागपूरचे नाव वगळले असले तरी शहरातील स्थिती पाहता अजुनही कोरोनाचा धोका टळलेला नसल्याने नागरिकांनी नियमांचे पालन करणे व उचित दक्षता घेणे आवश्यक आहे. सद्यातरी नागपूर शहरामध्ये लागू असलेल्या मनपाच्या १७ मे रोजीच्या आदेशात कोणतेही बदल करण्यात आले नाहीत. त्यामुळे २२ मे पर्यंत नागपूर शहरात जुनेच आदेश लागू राहणार आहेत, अशी माहिती मनपा आयुक्त तुकाराम मुंढे यांनी दिली.
यासंबंधी माहिती देताना त्यांनी सांगितले की, लॉकडाउन संबंधी महानगरपालिकेचे १७ मे आणि त्यापूर्वी काढलेले आदेश सद्या अस्तित्वात आहेत. नवीन आदेश २२ मे रोजी शहरातील परिस्थिती पाहून निर्गमीत करण्यात येईल. नागपूर शहराला कायमस्वरूपी रेड झोनमधून बाहेर काढण्यासाठी सद्या आहे त्या आदेशाचे सर्वांनी पालन करणे आवश्यक आहे. १७ मे रोजी देण्यात आलेलेच आदेश लागू असून कुणीही या आदेशाचे उल्लंघन केल्यास त्या व्यक्तीवर आपत्ती व्यवस्थापन कायदा, प्रशासनीक कायदा आणि भारतीय दंड विधान कायद्यानुसार कारवाई केली जाईल. त्यामुळे परवानगी दिलेल्या बाबींव्यतिरिक्त कुणीही घराबाहेर पडू नये.
यापूर्वी १७ मे रोजी दिलेल्या आदेशानुसार नागपूर महानगरपालिकेने घरपोच मद्यविक्री, नागरी क्षेत्रातील बांधकाम जेथे कामगार निवासी राहतील, तेथे बांधकाम सुरू करता येईल. आयटी कार्यासाठी आवश्यक हार्डवेअर आणि पॅकेजिंग साहित्याचे उत्पादन, इलेक्ट्रिक सामुग्रीची दुकाने, हार्डवेअर आणि बिल्डिंग मटेरिअल, संगणक, मोबाईल, होम अम्प्लायन्सेस दुरूस्ती, (केवळ सोमवार, बुधवार, शुक्रवार), ऑटो स्पेअर्स आणि रिपेअर शॉप, टायर शॉप, ऑईल आणि लुब्रिकेन्ट्स शॉप (मंगळवार, गुरुवार, शनिवार आणि रविवार), ऑप्टिकल, स्टेशनरी आणि होजियारी शॉप (मंगळवार, गुरुवार, शनिवार, रविवार) अशाप्रकारे सुरू राहतील. ई-कॉमर्स (जीवनावश्यक वस्तू, औषधी आणि उपकरण), खासगी कार्यालये १५ टक्के उपस्थितीत, सर्व शासकीय कार्यालय ३३ टक्के उपस्थितीत सुरू करता येतील. याव्यतिरिक्त, मान्सूनपूर्व सर्व कामे सुरू करता येतील. प्रतिबंधित क्षेत्रात हा आदेश लागू राहणार नाही. केवळ तेथे जीवनावश्यक वस्तूंची दुकाने सकाळी ७ ते दुपारी ३ या वेळेत सुरू असतील. प्रतिबंधित क्षेत्राव्यतिरिक्त अन्य ठिकाणी जीवनावश्यक वस्तूंव्यतिरिक्त ज्या बाबींना परवानगी देण्यात आली आहे ती प्रतिष्ठाने सकाळी ७ ते रात्री ७ या वेळेत सुरु राहतील. जिल्हाअंतर्गत आणि जिल्ह्याबाहेरील प्रवासी वाहतूक, नागरी क्षेत्रातील उद्योग, कॅब आणि टॅक्सी सेवा, थिएटर, मॉल, जलतरण हौद, जिम आदींना मात्र परवानगी राहणार नाही.

नागपूर, ता. १९ :शहरातील लॉकडाऊनचे नियम हळुहळू शिथिल होत असल्याने शहरातील परिस्थिती पूर्वपदावर येत आहे. रस्त्यावर वाहनांची वर्दळही वाढत आहे. लॉकडाऊनमुळे शहरात अनेक ठिकाणच्या रस्त्यांची कामे अर्धवट राहिली आहेत. लवकरच पावसाळा सुरू होण्याचे संकेतही हवामान विभागातर्फे देण्यात आले आहेत. अशा स्थितीत अर्धवट बांधकाम झालेले रस्ते धोकादायक ठरू शकतात. त्यामुळे परिस्थितीचे गांभीर्य जपून अर्धवट स्थितीतील रस्त्यांची सर्व कामे तात्काळ सुरू करा, असे निर्देश कार्यकारी महापौर मनीषा कोठे यांनी प्रशासनाला दिले.

शहरातील अनेक ठिकाणच्या सिमेंट व डामरी रस्त्याच्या कामांना प्रशासकीय व वित्तीय मान्यता मिळाली आहे. मात्र ती कामेही बंदच आहेत. याशिवाय जी कामे सुरू होती ती सुद्धा लॉकडाऊनमुळे बंदच आहेत. मागील दोन महिने नागरिक घरात होते. त्यामुळे या अपूर्णावस्थेतील मार्गांमुळे काही बाधा निर्माण झाली नाही. मात्र आता अनेक बाबींना परवानगी मिळाल्याने लोक घराबाहेर पडत आहेत. अशा स्थितीत ही अपूर्ण कामे सुरू होणे अत्यावश्यक आहे. दत्तात्रय नगर येथील सिमेंट रोडचे अपूर्ण काम तसेच जरीपटका येथील दुर्गे पिठ गिरणी समोरील रस्त्याचेही काम अर्धवट आहे. शहरातील अशा अनेक ठिकाणी हिच स्थिती आहे. पावसाळा सुरू झाल्यास हे अपूर्ण बांधकाम झालेले रस्ते नागरिकांच्या जीवासाठी धोकादायक ठरण्याची शक्यता नाकारता येत नाही. त्यामुळे प्रशासनाद्वारे या अपूर्ण रस्त्यांची कामे तात्काळ सुरू करून ती लवकरात लवकर पूर्ण करावीत, असेही निर्देश कार्यकारी महापौर मनीषा कोठे यांनी दिले.

Indian netizens, specifically want the short, video-making app banned after a video glorifying acid attack started doing the rounds on the Internet.
The video was created by “influencer” Faizal Siddiqui, who enjoys more than 13 million followers on the platform, can be seen mouthing “Did the man you left me for abandon you?” before taking a glass filled with liquid and splashing it on his “girlfriend”. The video ends with the woman’s face changed– she has make-up depicting scars after the alleged “acid attack”
The National Commission for Women (NCW) on Monday said it wrote to TikTok over a video in which one of its users allegedly glorified acid attack and crime against women.
Soon after, desi Netizens trended #BanTikTokinIndia and shared photos and screenshots that said they had downloaded the app simply to leave a negative rating on it.
A few days back we saw TikTok rating dropping from 4.6 to 3.8, but now, the App has witnessed its lowest rating ever i.e- 2.0

Mumbai 2020: In a shocking revelation, India captain Virat Kohli has said that he once failed to find a place in a Delhi junior team because his father did not agree to pay a bribe.
“In my home state (Delhi)… sometimes things happen that are not fair… On one occasion, a certain someone did not play by the rules when it came to selection criteria. He told my father while I had the merit, a little extra (bribe) was needed to confirm my selection,” Kohli said in a web chat with Indian football captain Sunil Chhetri.
Kohli said that his father was an honest middle-class man who had worked hard to achieve something in life and he never knew what that ‘little extra’ meant. My father simply said, ‘If you want to select Virat, then let it be purely on merit. I will give you nothing extra’,” Kohli said
“I didn’t get selected. I cried a lot. I was broken,” Kohli remembered.
The India captain then went add on to explain what he learnt from the experience, Kohli said, “That incident taught me a lot. I realised that this world runs like this. If you want to progress, do something that no one else is doing. If I had to become successful, I needed to be extraordinary. And I had to achieve this purely through my own effort and hard work. My father showed me the right way, through his actions and not merely words. Those little things had a great impact on me.”
Notably, Kohli’s father died when the India skipper was playing a Ranji Trophy match for Delhi against Karnataka in 2006. Kohli, who was only 18 at that time went to the ground the next morning after the demise of his father and played a superb innings for Delhi.
“I accepted his death, as I was focused on moving forward with my career. In fact, I went and batted in a Ranji Trophy match the day after he died. His death made me realise that I had to make something of my life. Now, I think about how nice it would be if I could have given my father the peaceful retired life that he deserved. At times, I get emotional thinking about him,” Kohli said.
President Donald Trump said Monday that he is taking a malaria drug to protect against the new coronavirus, despite warnings from his own government that it should only be administered for Covid-19 in a hospital or research setting due to potentially fatal side effects.
Trump told reporters he has been taking the drug, hydroxychloroquine, and a zinc supplement daily “for about a week and a half now.” Trump spent weeks pushing the drug as a potential cure or prophylaxis for Covid-19 against the cautionary advice of many of his administration’s top medical professionals.
The drug has the potential to cause significant side effects in some patients and has not been shown to combat the new coronavirus.
Trump said his doctor did not recommend the drug to him, but he requested it from the White House physician.
“I started taking it, because I think it’s good,” Trump said. “I’ve heard a lot of good stories.”
The Food and Drug Administration warned health professionals last month that the drug should not be used to treat Covid-19 outside of hospital or research settings, due to sometimes fatal side effects.
Regulators issued the alert for the drug, which can also be used to treat lupus and arthritis, after receiving reports of heart-rhythm problems, including deaths, from poison control centers and other health providers.
Trump dismissed reports of side effects, saying, “All I can tell you is, so far I seem to be OK.”
At least two White House staffers tested positive for Covid-19 earlier this month, sparking concerns about the steps taken by the administration to protect the president and sending Vice President Mike Pence and other officials into varying forms of self-isolation.
The White House has since mandated that those in the West Wing wear face coverings and has introduced daily testing for the virus for the president, vice president and those they come in close contact with.
Trump last underwent an “interim” checkup in a November visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center that was not noted on his public schedule. His last complete physical took place in February 2019.
Trump has repeatedly pushed the use of the drug with or without the antibiotic azithromycin, but no large, rigorous studies have found them safe or effective for preventing or treating Covid-19.
Two large observational studies, each involving around 1,400 patients in New York, recently found no benefit from hydroxychloroquine. Two new ones published Thursday in the medical journal BMJ reached the same conclusion.
One, by French researchers, gave 84 hospitalized patients the drug and 97 others the usual care. There were no differences in the odds of death, need for intensive care or developing severe illness.
The other study from China was a stricter test: 150 adults hospitalized with mild or moderate illness were randomly assigned to get hydroxychloroquine or usual care. The drug made no difference in rates of clearing the virus or time to relief of symptoms, and they brought more side effects.
In April, the National Institutes of Health launched a study testing hydroxychloroquine versus a placebo drug in 500 hospitalized Covid-19 patients. Last week, NIH announced another study to see if hydroxychloroquine plus azithromycin can prevent hospitalization or death in people with mild to moderate illness. About 2,000 U.S. adults with confirmed coronavirus infections and symptoms such as fever, cough or shortness of breath will get the drugs or placebo pills.
U.S. prescriptions for hydroxychloroquine surged roughly 80% in March to more than 830,000 compared with same period in the prior year, according to data tracking firm IQVIA. That jump in prescribing came before the federal government accepted nearly 30 million doses of the drug donated to the strategic national stockpile by foreign drugmakers. Since then, millions of those tablets have been shipped to U.S. hospitals nationwide for use treating patients with Covid-19.

राज्यात आतापर्यंत राज्यभरात ८ हजार ४३७ रुग्ण बरे झाले आहेत. राज्यात सध्या २५ हजार ३९२ रुग्णांवर उपचार सुरु आहेत. तर मुंबईतील वांद्रे-कुर्ला संकुलात उभारण्यात आलेल्या कोविड १९ समर्पित आरोग्य केंद्राचे काल मुख्यमंत्री उद्धव ठाकरे यांच्या उपस्थितीत लोकार्पण करण्यात आले. या ठिकाणी सुमारे १ हजार रुग्णांवर उपचार होऊ शकतील, अशी माहिती आरोग्यमंत्री राजेश टोपे यांनी दिली.
राज्यातील ज्या भागात रुग्णांचे क्लस्टर सापडले आहेत, त्या ठिकाणी केंद्र सरकारच्या मार्गदर्शनानुसार क्लस्टर कंटेनमेंट कृतियोजना अंमलात आणण्यात येत आहे. राज्यात सध्या १६८१ कंटेनमेंट झोन क्रियाशील असून सोमवारी एकूण १४ हजार ४१ सर्वेक्षण पथकांनी काम केले असून त्यांनी ६०.४७ लाख लोकसंख्येचे सर्वेक्षण करण्यात आले आहे.
दरम्यान, आतापर्यंत पाठविण्यात आलेल्या २ लाख ८२ हजार १९४ नमुन्यांपैकी २ लाख ४७ हजार १०३ जणांचे प्रयोगशाळा नमुने कोरोना करता निगेटिव्ह आले आहेत तर ३५ हजार ५८ जण पॉझिटिव्ह आले आहेत. राज्यात ३ लाख ६६ हजार २४२ लोक होम क्वारंटाईनमध्ये असून १८ हजार ६७८ लोक संस्थात्मक क्वारंटाईनमध्ये आहेत.
राज्यात सोमवारी ५१ कोरोना बाधित रुग्णांच्या मृत्यूची नोंद झाली असून एकूण संख्या १२४९ झाली आहे. काल झालेल्या मृत्यूपैकी मुंबई मध्ये २३, नवी मुंबईमध्ये ८, पुण्यात ८, जळगावमध्ये ३, औरंगाबाद शहरात २, अहमदनगर जिल्ह्यात २,नागपूर शहरात २, भिवंडी १ तर पालघरमध्ये १ मृत्यू झाला आहे. या शिवाय बिहार राज्यातील १ मृत्यू मुंबईत झाला आहे. नोंद झालेल्या मृत्यूंपैकी ३५ पुरुष तर १६ महिला आहेत.आज झालेल्या ५१ मृत्यूपैकी ६० वर्षे किंवा त्यावरील २१ रुग्ण आहेत तर १९ रुग्ण हे वय वर्षे ४० ते ५९ या वयोगटातील आहेत. तर ११ जण ४० वर्षांखालील आहे. या ५१ रुग्णांपैकी ३५ जणांमध्ये (६८ टक्के) मधुमेह, उच्च रक्तदाब, हृदयरोग, अशा स्वरुपाचे अतिजोखमीचे आजार आढळले आहेत.
