जामिनासाठी बोगस कागदपत्रे बनविणाऱ्या टोळीचा पर्दाफाश; जिल्हा न्यायालयासमोरच चालायचा प्रकार

Nagpur: The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) Nagpur has got custody of the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist from Jammu & Kashmir who had conducted recce of Dr Hedgewar Smriti Mandir of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Reshimbag in July last year, according to reports.

According to reports, Raees Ahmed Sheikh Asadulla Sheikh (26), a resident of Khati Mohalla, Chandara, Awantipora town of Pulwama district in J&K, is being thoroughly interrogated by the ATS since the last two days. During interrogation, Raees reportedly told the investigators that a person named Omar, who is operational commander of JeM’s Nawabpur (Pakistan)-based terrorist launching pad, was his handler.

The reports further said that Raees came to Nagpur by a Delhi-Mumbai-Nagpur flight on July 13 and checked into a hotel in Sitabuldi area. The handler had assured Raees that a local man would contact and help him at Nagpur in the operation. However, Raees conducted the reconnaissance on his own as no person contacted him at Nagpur, according to sources.

On July 14, Raees took an auto-rickshaw and reached Reshimbag with the help of Google Map. The location was sent by his handler, sources claimed. His target was to conduct recce of Smriti Mandir. He deboarded the auto near Reshimbag ground in the afternoon. Raees reportedly told the investigators that he took video of Hedgewar Mandir while walking through Reshimbag ground and pretending that he was talking to someone on cell phone. He later shared the video with his handler on WhatsApp but got admonished over poor quality of the video. He was instructed to again shoot the video. However, fearing police, Raees switched off his mobile phone.

Sources said, Raees then called the auto-rickshaw driver and asked him to take to a Masjid. The auto driver dropped him at a Masjid near Santra Market gate where he stayed for the day and returned to the hotel in the evening. On July 15, Raees returned to Srinagar by a Nagpur-Delhi-Srinagar flight, sources added.

A case under relevant sections of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act was registered against Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist at Kotwali Police Station. The probe was transferred to ATS on the instructions of the then DGP Sanjay Pandey.

On Friday last, the bench, however, had refused to pass any interim order of status quo against the ongoing survey of the religious complex on the plea of the Muslim side.

Supreme Court to hear challenge to Gyanvapi mosque survey today

Gyanvapi Mosque

The Gyanvapi Masjid survey, which was ordered by the local court, concluded a day before the deadline set by the Varanasi Court. After the conclusion of the survey, the Supreme Court will be hearing the controversial matter today, May 17.

The Supreme Court is set to weigh in on the verdict already delivered by the Varanasi court, which instructed that the videography survey of the mosque will continue till May 17. The local court had also ordered that a section of the masjid be sealed off for protection.

The Gyanvapi Masjid matter escalated after Hindus and Muslims both claimed the right to pray inside the mosque on claims that there was a temple situated inside the mosque. Thus, the court had ordered a video survey of the site and a detailed report on the matter.

On the last day of the video survey of the Gyanvapi mosque, the Hindu petitioner claimed in Varanasi court that there was a Shivling found inside a well in the masjid. The court then ordered that particular area of the mosque to be sealed for the protection of the Shivling.

The petitioner claimed, “Shivling…Jiski Nandi pratiksha kar rahi thi… The moment things became clear the chants of ‘Har Har Mahavdev’ resonated in mosque premises.” The Hindu petitioner, Sohan Lal Arya, had accompanied the authorities to the mosque and claimed that a shivling was found in the well.

The Gyanvapi mosque is located news the iconic Kashi Vishwanath temple, and a group of women filed a petition with the local court, seeking a right to pray inside the mosque. The case will now be heard in Supreme Court, and it is likely that a final verdict will be announced in the matter.

Nagpur: In a first step in conducting the civic body polls, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) will notify the final draft of Prabhag boundaries on Tuesday as per the directives of the State Election Commission (SEC).

The notified final draft and maps of boundaries of Prabhags and names of localities will be displayed on NMC’s notice board and published on NMC’s website. Avinash Sanas, Deputy Commissioner, SEC, had released the program about finalizing Prabhag boundaries on May 10, in a communication addressed to Municipal Commissioners of Nagpur, Akola, and Amravati in the Vidarbha region. The SEC approved the draft Prabhag boundaries on January 28, 2022. Accordingly, the draft of boundaries was published in the Government Gazette on February 1, and suggestions and objections on the draft were invited till February 14.

The SEC designated an officer to conduct hearings on the suggestions/objections received. The hearing was held between February 17 and February 26. With the recommendations of the officer concerned, the report was submitted to the SEC through Municipal Corporation concerned till March 5. While the SEC was going through the report submitted by the municipal corporations, the State Government made certain changes regarding the Prabhag system on March 11. As a result, the SEC had stopped further action.

In the wake of changes made by the Government, various petitions were filed before the Supreme Court. The Apex Court heard the bunch of petitions attaching them with a Special Leave Petition filed last year. On May 4, the Supreme Court directed the SEC to resume the election procedure from the point it was suspended on March 10. Accordingly, SEC went through the recommendations made by the designated officers and finalized the Prabhag boundaries for Nagpur and other 13 municipal corporations in the State.

A court-mandated videography survey of the Gyanvapi Masjid complex, which was carried out for the third consecutive day, concluded on Monday amid tight security, officials said.

The survey of the mosque complex, which started at 8 am, concluded at around 10:15 am. The mosque is located close to the iconic Kashi Vishwanath temple and the local court is hearing a plea by a group of women seeking permission for daily prayers before the idols on its outer walls.

“After working for over two hours, the court commission concluded its work on Monday at around 10.15 am. All parties were satisfied with the work,” Varanasi District Magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma told reporters here.

The survey was stalled last week amid objections by the mosque committee, which claimed that the advocate commissioner appointed by the court for the survey did not have the mandate to film inside the premises.

Maharashtra: Tourist loses money to fake Tadoba safari booking site

Tadoba safari

NAGPUR: Those planning online bookings for a safari in tiger reserves/parks beware! An engineer working with Chandrapur Super Thermal Power Station (CSTPS) lost Rs5,400 after attempting to book a safari in Tadoba buffer through a website.

The official booking website of Tadoba is www.mytadoba.org. Rajesh Mahajan, who is posted as an executive engineer in CSTPS, booked a May 15 safari from a website tadobasafaribooking.in around 6 am on May 11. However, he ended up losing the sum and did not get entry as promised.

Talking to TOI, Mahajan said, “Being near to my place, I opted for Agarzari-Dewada gate which was shown as available and hence I proceeded with payment of Rs5,400. The payment was successful and I waited for the confirmation message on the mail or cell phone, which never came.”
At 9 am, Mahajan received a call from a person who identified himself as Rishi saying the opted zone didn’t have any entry available and said the same was available from Keslaghat and Zari Peth gates and sent a roadmap. “I was reluctant, but as money was already paid I asked the caller to confirm Zari Peth, which is again 20-25km from my place,” said Mahajan.

At 10.45 am, Mahajan received another call from some other person saying he was calling from Tadoba Safari and said, “As there is congestion in the booking network, the entry from Zari Peth gate also cannot be confirmed. On May 15, entry is available from Mamla gate only. If you still want to confirm, please inform or we will cancel the booking and refund the sum.”

Mahajan said, “I asked the guy to cancel the booking. He promised to refund the money and sought some time. The caller sent a screenshot of the refund, but the amount has still not been credited. He said it is an online gateway payment refund and that takes time to get credited. Even after four days, the sum has not been refunded.”

When Mahajan called the original caller Rishi, his phone was switched off. The number on the website was connected to Kaziranga National Park in Assam.
Mahajan, who is also president of District Consumer Forum, says, “This is not the first time I’ve booked a safari online. I had done it at least 8-10 times, but I also don’t know how I went with the flow and realized the mistake when there was no refund. I will lodge a police complaint.”

TATR field director Dr. Jitendra Ramgaonkar says, “These websites are fraud and Tadoba administration has reported about it to the police, cyber cell and is also approaching the courts to stop the menace.”

“On November 15, 2021, one Anup Sawarkar was tricked by one such website in a similar manner. A complaint was lodged with Durgapur police and we had listed at least 8 fake websites with Tadoba’s name on it. Tourists need to be cautious while making online safari bookings,” said Nandkishore Kale, deputy director (core).

Many resort owners and tourists have been urging to shift the booking website to mahaecotourism.gov.in because the ‘gov’ on the website can prevent many frauds. “It indicates that it is a government website. We don’t know why TATR is sticking to mytadoba.org?” they asked.

Is there really a ghost in Sony SABs Wagle Ki Duniya Watch Out

Wagle Ki Duniya

It’s time for some scary encounters in Sony SAB’s Wagle Ki Duniya as things turn eerie in Sai Darshan Heights Society. Rajesh’s coworkers Dasani (Nayan Dasani) and Marfatiya (Vinayak Ketkar) get evicted from their house post a series of conflicts and reach out to him for help. Rajesh (Sumeet Raghavan) requests Joshipura (Deepak Pareek) to let the duo stay in their society as a special favor for a month. On his plea, Joshipura allows Dasani and Marfatiya to stay in a flat on the 9th floor of the building that reportedly belongs to his brother. While they take a sigh of relief for finding a new house, stories of the flat being haunted start doing the rounds.

Wagle Ki Duniya

At night, both Dasani and Marfatiya start experiencing paranormal activities in the flat and chaos ensues. When they inform Rajesh and Vandana about the same, the couple dismisses the incident as a figment of imagination but soon the happenings start bothering others in the society. On probing into the matter further, Rajesh and Vandana come to know of some rumors involving the death of the previous tenant and how these rumors have been created to prohibit the sale of the house. What happens next is a rollercoaster of thrill, drama, and all things horror.

Is there a real ghost on the 9th floor? What’s the secret behind paranormal activities?

Deepak Pareek who essays the role of Dakshesh Joshipura says, “Fear of the unknown scares even the most intelligent of people, forcing us to act in ways that defy logic and reason. And that’s exactly what Wagle Ki Duniya’s latest plot is about. As fear spreads throughout society as a result of a series of strange events, Joshipura along with Rajesh take it upon themselves to uncover the truth and restore normalcy. We had a lot of fun filming the scenes, and hopefully, that will translate on screen. I feel the scenes contain the perfect blend of comedy and adrenaline that will appeal to our audience, and they will have a gala time watching this track”

Nagpur division completes SSC, HSC evaluation

SSC, HSC evaluation

Nagpur: The evaluation work of SSC and HSC papers has been completed in the Nagpur division, following which marks have been sent to Pune headquarters.
The division, which comprises Nagpur, Wardha, Gondia, Bhandara, Chandrapur, and Gadchiroli districts, has so far been on track for all board-related work.

A senior board official said, “Teachers put in a lot of effort along with board employees. Evaluations were completed as per the timeline even though exams were delayed this year. All the major work has been done from the Nagpur division, and now we are in midst of the process which we call ‘reporting’.”

As per the official, this is the phase when the Pune HQ informs about anomalies in marks or any other query. The divisional board then has to resolve all those queries and then all that remains is to wait for the declaration of the results.

The official said, “Once all the divisional boards submit their marks and all issues are resolved, then a board meeting is held at Pune. The status of result preparation is reviewed and once completed, the board officials discuss possible dates for the result declaration.” These dates, or dates, are then reviewed by the education minister/principal secretary (education), he added.

“Once the minister approves the results date, we go ahead and officially announce the same,” said the official.
Unlike CBSE, the state education board always announces results date in advance through the official channel.

When asked about the results timeline, the official said it should be in the first week of June. “See it could be earlier too, as everything depends on how fast data is compiled by the Pune HQ from all other divisional boards. But it seems to be that we are looking at the first week of June for HSC and then SSC a week or so later,” said the official.

Former Australia Cricketer Andrew Symonds Dies In Car Crash

Symonds Dies

Swashbuckling former all-rounder Andrew Symonds has been killed in a car crash, Cricket Australia said Sunday, in another tragic blow for the sport after the recent deaths of fellow greats Shane Warne and Rod Marsh. The 46-year-old, who played 26 Tests and 198 one-day internationals for Australia from 1998 to 2009, was involved in a single-car accident outside Townsville in Queensland state on Saturday night. Police said emergency services attempted to revive the driver and sole occupant, but he died from his injuries after the car left the road and rolled.

“Australian cricket has lost another of its very best,” Cricket Australia chairman Lachlan Henderson said in a statement.

“Andrew was a generational talent who was instrumental in Australia’s success at World Cups and as part of Queensland’s rich cricket history.

“He was a cult figure to many who was treasured by his fans and friends,” he added.

Symonds’ fatal crash comes just months after the deaths of fellow Australian greats Warne and Marsh, who both died unexpectedly from heart attacks.

“Unfortunately I’ve been here too often this year under these circumstances. I actually can’t quite believe it, to be honest,” former Australia captain Mark Taylor told Channel Nine. “Another tragic day for cricket.”

The larger-than-life Symonds was hugely popular, not only for his hard-hitting approach to the game but also for his easy-going personality.

He was widely considered one of the most skilled all-rounders Australian cricket has seen, bowling both off-spin and medium pace, while playing many match-winning hands with his explosive middle-order batting.

Symonds was also a top-rate fielder and was a key part of Australia’s back-to-back 50-over World Cups triumphs in 2003 and 2007.

Domestically, he played for Queensland for 17 seasons, while appearing for Gloucestershire, Kent, Lancashire, and Surrey in the English County Championship and for Deccan Chargers and Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League.

‘Utterly devastated’

“Horrendous news to wake up to,” tweeted former Australian teammate Jason Gillespie. “Utterly devastated. We’re all gonna miss you mate.”

Adam Gilchrist, another former teammate who more recently commentated alongside Symonds at Fox Sports, wrote: “This really hurts,” while Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar said he was “devastated”.

Former England skipper Michael Vaughan said: “Simmo … this doesn’t feel real #RIP.”

Symonds, who was born in England with one parent of Afro-Caribbean descent, will also be remembered for the infamous “monkey gate” scandal that sent him into a downward spiral.

He accused India spinner Harbhajan Singh of calling him a “monkey” in Sydney’s 2008 New Year Test.

Singh, who denied any wrongdoing, was suspended for three matches. The ban was overturned when India threatened to quit the tour in a low point for India-Australia cricket relations.

The Australian player later revealed it took a heavy toll.

“From that moment on that was my downhill slide,” he recalled in 2018. “I started to drink heavily as a result of it and my life was starting to dissolve around me.”

His Cricket Australia contract was withdrawn in June 2009 after he was sent home from the World Twenty20 in England following the latest in a series of alcohol-related indiscretions.

Despite the animosity, Symonds and Harbhajan eventually made up and played together in the Indian Premier League, with the Australian forging a successful career as a respected television commentator after retiring.

RTMNU to decide the mode of Exam on May 18

RTMNU Exam
RTMNU declares 16 more results of Summer 2022 examinations

Lack of clarity at the level of the Ministry of Higher and Technical Education in Maharashtra, universities in the state are unable to make final decisions on examination mode.

In Vidarbha, Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, and Gondwana University, Gadchiroli issued notifications for offline examinations, but Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) has not taken any decision on it so far.

RTMNU will finalize the issue in the meeting of the Board of Examinations and Evaluation (BOEE).

This year in March, Minister Uday Samant had asked universities to take their own decisions regarding the mode of examinations. Accordingly, Mumbai University had conducted almost 80% examinations online. Pune University, too, had conducted most of the examinations online except for engineering, pharmacy, and some others.

RTMNU too decided to hold examinations in a blended mode. Meanwhile, in April, Samant changed its stand and told universities to have examinations in offline mode only. He wanted the examinations in offline mode to be conducted in a traditional manner (those used held before the coronavirus pandemic). In fact, he specified the period for holding examinations–from June 1 and June 30.

RTMNU had to postpone the examinations. North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon expressed its inability to hold examinations in offline mode in the traditional way, so decided to go offline but with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ).

RTMNU may hold its BoEE meet by May 18 and then take a final decision on the mode of examination.

Our nurses have truly made us proud. I would like to thank all the nurses who put in their best efforts always for the well-being of their patients. Our nurses give reassuring smiles to our patients while handholding them during their recovery in the hospital. Nurses form the core of the healthcare team that provides quality care to our patients. I can proudly say that nurses are the heartbeat of healthcare,” concluded Dr. Clive Fernandes, Group Clinical Director & COO-Maharashtra Wockhardt Hospitals.

Ravindra Jadeja likely to be ruled out of IPL- report

Ravindra jadeja

Chennai Super Kings all-rounder and former captain Ravindra Jadeja are all set to miss the remaining matches of IPL 2022.

Jadeja suffered an injury during the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. CSK’s medical team assessed Jadeja’s injury but he has not gotten better.

Chennai will take on Mumbai Indians on Thursday and it is unlikely that Jadeja will feature in that game as CSK has a very slim chance of qualifying for the playoffs. CSK will be knocked out of the tournament if RCB or Rajasthan Royals win one more game in the season.

This season has been tough for Jadeja as he managed just 116 runs and five wickets in the 10 matches he has played so far.

India is scheduled for a series against South Africa in the month of June and to travel to England for one Test and three T20Is and as many ODIs. Jadeja’s form will play a crucial role for Team India in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.

Maharashtra will burn if Raj Thackeray is harmed: MNS

राज ठाकरे

MNS leader Bala Nandgaonkar on Wednesday met Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse-Patil over a letter threatening Raj Thackeray and demanded action.

Speaking to reporters later, he said there would be repercussions across the state if the MNS chief was harmed.

Mumbai Police, meanwhile, registered a case in connection with the anonymous letter.

His office received the letter, Nandgaonkar said, adding that it was written in Hindi with a smattering of Urdu words and referred to Thackeray’s warning that the Hanuman Chalisa would be played in front of mosques if loudspeakers were continued to be used to broadcast ‘azaan’ (the Muslim call to prayer).

“The home minister said he will talk to the police commissioner. Now they will take whatever action that is necessary. But if even the slightest harm comes to Raj Thackeray, Maharashtra will burn. The state government has to take note of this,” Nandgaonkar added.

He had met Mumbai police commissioner Sanjay Pandey over the letter on Tuesday, he said.

Nandgaonkar also said that he had been asking for security for the MNS chief and his family, but the state government was not paying heed. The Union government should look into this, he said.

Meanwhile, a non-cognizable offense was registered against unidentified persons under section 507 (criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication) of the Indian Penal Code at Kalachowki police station in connection with the letter, said an official, adding that police are conducting further probe.

Raj Thackeray had given an ultimatum last month that loudspeakers be removed from mosques in the state by May 4.

sri lanka crisis

Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Defence on Tuesday ordered the Army, the Air Force, and the Navy personnel to open fire on anyone looting public property or causing harm to others amidst violent protests in the island nation over the unprecedented economic crisis.

The order came after embattled President Gotabaya Rajapaksa urged people to stop “violence and acts of revenge” against fellow citizens and vowed to address the political and economic crisis facing the nation.

The death toll rose to eight in the unprecedented violence that erupted after supporters of the prime minister Mahinda Rajapaksa attacked anti-government protesters here on Monday. Though Mahinda Rajapaksa, 76, has quit as prime minister, this has failed to bring calm.

Mahesh Babu clarifies comment on not doing Hindi movies

Mahesh Babu
Mahesh Babu who has been in the film industry for almost 23 years, has said that he doesn’t want to do films for ‘another industry’ and only wants to work for Telugu cinema.
Mahesh Babu said last week that he doesn’t want to do Hindi films as Bollywood couldn’t afford him. In a new statement, Mahesh added that he doesn’t want to work for ‘another industry’ and only wants to do Telugu films. He is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Sarkaru Vaari Paata.

Mahesh is one of the A-listers of the Telugu film industry. Some of his hit films are Businessman, Srimanthudu, Bharat Ane Nenu, Maharshi, and Sarileru Neekevvaru.

As per an Indian Express report, during a new interaction with the Telugu media, Mahesh said, “I have always wanted to do Telugu films. And I have always wished for Telugu movies to do well across the country. I strongly feel, why should we go to another industry by leaving ours behind? I am very happy that our films are reaching there (in North India). Our movies are doing well at the pan-India level and my dream is coming true.”

He added, “I don’t need to do Hindi films. I can just do a Telugu film and it’ll get seen all over the world – that’s what’s happening right now. You’d want to be in a position to do (only) a Telugu film.”

Mahesh’s statement comes a few days after he that he is not interested in doing Hindi films. He said, “I may sound arrogant, but I did get a lot of offers in Hindi. But I think they can’t afford me. I don’t want to waste my time. With the stardom and love I have here in Telugu cinema, I never thought of going to another industry. I always thought I will do films here and they will become bigger, and my belief is turning into a reality now. I can’t be happier.”

Mahesh’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata is gearing up for release on May 12. Directed by Parasuram, the film also stars Keerthy Suresh and marks the maiden collaboration between Mahesh and Parasuram. Mahesh will soon commence work on his next yet-untitled Telugu project with filmmaker Trivikram. Pooja Hegde has been signed as the female star.

Commissioner of Police: No need to get e-pass to travel within city

Nagpur: Day after the sensational reports of a bag containing “Gelatin” was found at Nagpur Railway Station, Nagpur Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar Tuesday has clarified that the bag contained “Detonators” and not gelatine sticks.

“The bag contained 54 detonators. It was more of firecrackers-like materials, which wasn’t highly explosive,” CP Kumar has said.

नागपूर : स्फोटके कंपनीला वेढलेल्या जंगलाला आग, मोठा अनर्थ टळला

Nagpur
