Nagpur : LIC Chairman Shri V.K Sharma today formally launched a new plan, ‘LIC’s Jeevan Shanti’. LIC’s Jeevan Shanti Plan is a non-linked, non-participating, single premium annuity plan wherein the Policyholder has an option to choose an Immediate Annuity or Deferred Annuity. The Deferment period can range from 1 -20 years.
The joint life annuity option can be exercised with any lineal descendant/ascendant of a family (i.e. Grandparent, Parent, Children, Grandchildren) or spouse or siblings as secondary life. If the Proposer has a handicapped dependant (Divyangjan), the plan can be purchased for the benefit of Divyangjan as nominee or as a Second Annuitant under the Immediate Annuity option.
All the annuity options under Immediate Annuity shall be available to NPS subscriber. The NPS subscribers include government employees, private companies and also those who have subscribed to NPS lite. The annuity rates are guaranteed at the inception of the policy for both Immediate and Deferred Annuity.

मुंबई हून जयपूरला निघालेल्या जेट एअरवेजच्या विमानामध्ये धक्कादायक प्रकार घडला आहे. विमानातील कर्मचारी हवेचा दाब नियंत्रित करणारा स्वीच सुरू करण्यास विसरला, परिणामी शेकडो प्रवाशांचा जीव धोक्यात आला होता. स्वीच सुरू न झाल्याने विमानातील हवेचा दाब वाढला, त्यामुळे 30 ते 35 प्रवाशांच्या कान आणि नाकातून रक्त वाहू लागलं आणि एकच खळबळ उडाली. त्यानंतर विमान पुन्हा मुंबई विमानतळावरील धावपट्टीवर उतरवण्यात आलं आहे.

डीजीसीएने या घटनेची गंभीर दखल घेतली असून चौकशीचे आदेश देण्यात आले आहेत. याशिवाय विमानातील केबिन क्रूचं निलंबन करण्यात आल्याची माहिती आहे. जेट एअरवेजच्या मुंबई-जयपूर विमानाने आज पहाटे मुबई विमानतळाहून उड्डाण घेतलं होतं. या विमानात 166 प्रवासी होते. पण उड्डाण घेतेवेळी विमानातील केबिन क्रू हवेचा दाब नियंत्रित करणारा स्वीच सुरू करण्यास विसरला. त्यामुळे उड्डाण घेतल्यानंतर काही वेळातच विमानातील हवेचा दाब वाढला आणि प्रवाशांना अचानक त्रास व्हायला सुरूवात झाली व विमानात एकच खळबळ उडाली. त्यामुळे हे विमान पुन्हा मुंबई विमानतळावर उतरवण्यात आलं. त्यानंतर प्रवाशांना विमानतळावरील दवाखान्यात दाखल करण्यात आलं असून त्यांच्यावर उपचार सुरू आहेत.

नागपुर : यवतमाळ जिल्ह्यात धुमाकूळ घालणाऱ्या टी-1 या नरभक्षी वाघिणीला ठार करण्यात यावे, असे निर्देश सर्वोच्च न्यालयाने दिले आहे. त्या विरूद्ध, त्या वाघिणीला ठार मारण्याऐवजी बेशुद्ध करून पकडण्यात यावे. अशी मागणी करत वन्यजीव प्रेमींनी आज नागपुरात मोर्चा काढत आंदोलन केले. हे मोर्चा आंदोलन महाराजबाग येथून शुरू करुण संविधान चौक येथे संपविण्यात आले.
यवतमाळच्या राळेगावातल्या जंगलातील टी-1 या नरभक्षक वाघिणीने आतापर्यंत पांढरकवडा येथील १२ लोकांना भक्ष्य केले होते. या प्रकरणी त्या वाघिणीला आधी बेशुद्द करून पकडण्याचा प्रयत्न करावा किंवा ते शक्य न झाल्यास तिला ठार करण्यात यावे असे निर्देश सर्वोच्च न्यालयाने दिले होते. या आदेशाने वन्यजीव प्रेमी मात्र नाराज झाले आहेत.

या वाघिणीला पकडण्यासंदर्भात किंवा ठार मारण्याच्या संदर्भात सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाच्या निर्देशाचे वन विभागाचे काही अधिकारी उल्लंघन करत असल्याचा आरोप करत वन्यजीव प्रेमींनी आज शहरात मोर्चा काढला. शहरातील महाराजबाग येथून सुरु झालेला हा मोर्चा संविधान चौक येथे संपला. या मोर्चात विदर्भातील अनेक जिल्ह्यातून वन्यजीव प्रेमी सहभागी झाले होते.
या नरभक्षक वाघिणीला ठार मारण्याचे आदेश मिळताच शार्प शुटर राळेगावच्या जंगलात दाखल झाले आहेत. मात्र, वाघिणीला बेशुद्ध करून जेरबंद करावे अशी वन्यजीवप्रेमींची मागणी आहे. तसेच, वन विभागाचे काही अधिकारी वाघिणीला पकडण्याचे प्रयत्न न करता तिला फक्त मारण्याच्या मागे असल्याचे आरोप वन्यजीव प्रेमींनी केला आहे.
शिवाय शफाअत अली खान नवाब या खाजगी शिकाऱ्याला बोलावून वन विभागाच्या अधिकाऱ्यांनी सर्व नियम-कायदे पायदळी तुडवून वाघिणीला मारण्याचे प्रयत्न सुरु केल्याचेही आरोप वन्यजीव प्रेमींनी केले आहे. त्यामुळे या नंतरही जर वन अधिकाऱ्यांनी वाघीणीला बेशुद्ध करण्याचे प्रयत्न केले नाहीत, तर पुन्हा न्यायालयात दाद मागू, असे देखील वन्यजीव प्रेमींनी स्पष्ट केले आहे.
Samvaad is a project of Samarpan Awareness Foundation (SAF) which stimulates a dialogue between people in similar life situations.
On occasion of World Alzheimer’s Day, SAF launches a support group for Care Givers of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia patients.
Dementia is a chronic disease that as yet does not have any curative treatment. It has three main stages:
1) Preclinical stage – disease starts inside the brain, but there are no obvious symptoms noticed by patient or relatives. In day to day life everything appears normal. At this stage it can be identified only by detailed tests for memory or special advanced investigations.
2) Clinical stage- this is the stage when symptoms / problems start getting noticed, like forgetting names or things, losing the way and getting lost, not recognising people, some irrational thinking, changes in personality, missing words while talking and so on. These changes are different for each person. This is a progressive stage. In this stage diagnosis starts becoming obvious and it can be confirmed by tests. Some blood tests are essential because some dementias are reversible. It is extremely important to recognize these reversible memory problems. Vitamin B12 deficiency is the most common example.
3) Terminal stage – gradually the dementia increases and the patient starts needing help for day to day life activities. He/she needs to be looked after with more and more attention. This is where the patients start losing the functions related to their identity. And gradually the patient ends up in a vegetative state.
Once the diagnosis of chronic dementia is done, the treatment starts. However, tablets are insufficient for managing dementias. Along with medicines many lifestyle changes have to be made. As the patient is going through this progressive and chronic disease, the burden of caring falls on the caregivers. The caregivers need separate attention. Very often the caregivers are stressed, anxious and depressed. Thus, they become additional responsibility of the healthcare system but paradoxically they are currently missed by the radars of the illness industry.
Especially in the terminal state of dementia, the real burden is on the care giver. Thus, in dementia there are mostly more than one patient per family. In addition to the medical aspects the social stigmas of dementia are tremendous. These add to the psychosocial burden of the caregivers.
The complex stress of the caregivers needs to be acknowledged and addressed. This work is beyond the scope of prescriptions. Hence SAF has taken this initiative of Smruti Samvaad where the caregivers of the patients can come together and solve each other’s problems through mutual understandings and empathy. And the first meeting will take place on 22nd of September 2018 at Shanti Niketan Clinic.
नागपुर के संघ मुख्यालय से बीजेपी की केंद्र सरकार चलने के आरोपों पर संघ प्रमुख मोहन भागवत ने सफाई दी है. उन्होने विज्ञान भवन में आयोजित ‘भविष्य का भारत’ कार्यक्रम में कहा कि उनका संगठन बीजेपी की राजनीति या उसकी सरकार की नीतियों में दखलंदाजी नहीं करता. संगठन जिस बात को देश के हित में समझता है, उस पर जोर देता है.संघ द्वारा आयोजित तीन दिवसीय सम्मेलन के दूसरे दिन भागवत ने कहा कि यह धारणा “बिल्कुल गलत” है कि संघ मुख्यालय नागपुर से कॉल किया जाता है और (उसके तथा सरकारी पदाधिकारियों के बीच) बातचीत होती है. यह धारणा इसलिए भी है कि राष्ट्रपति और प्रधानमंत्री जैसों का नाता संघ से रहा है.उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि आरएसएस कभी अपने स्वयंसेवकों को किसी राजनीतिक दल के लिए काम करने को नहीं कहता है. उन्होंने कहा कि संघ सलाह नहीं देता है, बल्कि मांग जाने पर सुझाव पेश करता है.
संघ प्रमुख मोहन भागवत ने भाजपा या उसके किसी भी नेता का नाम नहीं लिया.आरएसएस प्रमुख ने राजनीति पर संघ के रूख के बारे में विस्तार से चर्चा की और दावा किया कि संघ अपने स्वयंसेवकों को किसी विशेष राजनीतिक दल का समर्थन करने के लिए नहीं कहता है, बल्कि उन्हें सलाह देता है कि वे देश के हित में काम करने वालों का समर्थन करें.उन्होंने कहा कि हम देश के हितों के बारे में बात करते हैं और यदि हमारे पास ताकत है तो हम जो सही मानते हैं, उस पर हम जोर देते हैं. यहां छिपाने के लिए कुछ भी नहीं है. हम इसे खुले तौर पर करते हैं.भागवत ने अवैध घुसपैठ के मुद्दे का जिक्र किया और कहा कि उनका संगठन राजनीति से दूर रह सकता है लेकिन इस तरह के मुद्दे के बारे में बातें करेगा क्योंकि यह देश को प्रभावित करता है. आरएसएस से वैचारिक रूप से संबद्ध भाजपा का नाम लिए बिना भागवत ने कहा कि उनके संगठन से अक्सर उसकी राजनीतिक महत्वाकांक्षाओं के बारे में पूछा जाता है, क्यों उसके कई लोग एक पार्टी में हैं और राजनीति के साथ उसका क्या संबंध है.
भागवत ने विज्ञान भवन में आयोजित कार्यक्रम में कहा, ‘‘ यह पूछा जाता है कि उनके इतने सारे लोग एक ही पार्टी में क्यों हैं. यह हमारी चिंता नहीं है. वे अन्य पार्टियों के साथ क्यों नहीं जुड़ना चाहते, यह उन्हें विचार करना है. हम कभी भी किसी स्वयंसेवक को किसी खास राजनीतिक दल के लिए काम करने को नहीं कहते.’’विपक्ष अक्सर आरोप लगाता है कि आरएसएस भाजपा के माध्यम से राजनीति में दखल देता है.

मुंबई : प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी यांच्या बालजीवनावर आधारित ‘चलो जिते है’ या चित्रपटाला मंगळवारी महाराष्ट्रातून प्रचंड प्रतिसाद लाभला. नानाजी देशमुख प्रतिष्ठान आणि पार्थ नॉलेज नेटवर्क यांनी एकत्र येऊन या अभिनव उपक्रमाचे आयोजन केले होते.

मुंबई –राज्य मंत्रिमंडळाच्या आज झालेल्या साप्ताहिक बैठकीत जात वैधता प्रमाणपत्र सादर करण्याबाबत अत्यंत महत्त्वाचा निर्णय घेण्यात आला. जात वैधता प्रमाणपत्र सादर करण्यासाठी आता अजून सहा महिन्यांची मुदतवाढ देण्यात आली आहे. त्यामुळे यापुढे निवडणुक लढविणार्या राखीव मतदारसंघातील उमेदवारास जात वैधता प्रमाणपत्र दाखल करण्यासाठी तब्बल 1 वर्षाचा कालावधी मिळणार आहे.
स्थानिक स्वराज संस्थांमधील ग्रामपंचायत, पंचायत समिती आणि नगरपालिकांमधील राखीव जागांवर निवडणूक लढवणार्या इच्छुकांना जात वैधता प्रमाणपत्र सादर करण्यासाठी अजून सहा महिन्यांची मुदतवाढ देण्याचा निर्णय आजच्या मंत्रिमंडळ बैठकीत घेण्यात आला. त्यामुळे स्थानिक स्वराज संस्थांमध्ये निवडणूक लढविण्यास इच्छुक असणार्या उमेदवारांना मोठा दिलासा मिळाला असून आपले जात वैधता प्रमाणपत्र सादर करण्यासाठी त्यांना यापुढे वर्षभराचा कालावधी मिळणार आहे. त्यामुळे निवडणुकीत विजयी झाल्यानंतरही उमेदवारांना १ वर्षाच्याआत आपले जात वैधता प्रमाणपत्र सादर करता येईल. जात वैधता प्रमाणपत्र सादर न करणाऱ्या लोकप्रतिनिधींचे सदस्यत्व रद्द करण्याचे आदेश सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाने दिल्याने राज्यातील सुमारे दहा हजार सदस्यांवर गंडांतर आले होते. एवढ्या मोठ्या प्रमाणात लोकप्रतिनिधींची पदे रद्द झाली तर राज्यभर पोटनिवडणूका घ्याव्या लागण्याची शक्यता निर्माण झाली होती. त्यामुळे राखीव जागांवरून निवडून आलेल्या सदस्यांना दिलासा देण्यासाठी जात प्रमाणपत्र सादर करण्यासाठी राज्य सरकारकडून हा मुदतवाढीचा निर्णय घेण्यात आल्याचे समजते.
MUMBAI: India’s first woman IAS officer post-Independence, Anna Rajam Malhotra, died at her residence in suburban Andheri in Mumbai yesterday, her family sources said. She was 91.The last rites were performed in the city, they said.
She was born as Anna Rajam George in Kerala’s Ernakulum district in July 1927. She shifted to Chennai after her schooling in Kozhikode to pursue higher education at the University of Madras.
Ms Malhotra joined the civil services in 1951 and opted for the Madras cadre. She then served in the Madras state under Chief Minister C Rajagopalachari. She married RN Malhotra, who served as the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India from 1985 to 1990.
She is also known for her contribution in setting up the country’s modern port Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) near Mumbai. She was the chairperson of the JNPT during the execution. Ms Malhotra was given the task of JNPT as a part of her deputation in the Central government.
In 1989, she was honoured with the Padma Bhushan award. Ms Malhotra had worked under seven chief ministers of Tamil Nadu. She had worked closely with Rajiv Gandhi when he was in charge of the 1982 Asian Games in Delhi. She had served in the personnel section of the Union Home Ministry during her central services, her family sources said.
VARANASI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday launched several development projects worth Rs 550 crore at a public rally in Varanasi. The PM’s gift for his parliamentary constituency comes on the second day of his two-day visit to the city.
The projects inaugurated by the Prime Minister on Tuesday include Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) for Puraani Kashi and Atal Incubation Centre at Banaras Hindu University (BHU). Among the projects for which the foundation stones were laid was the Regional Ophthalmology Centre at BHU.
Modi addressed a gathering, starting his speech in local dialect, and chanting “Har, Har, Mahadev”. “I am happy that projects worth over Rs 550 crore have either been launched or the foundation stone has been laid for them today. The development work is not just for Varanasi but for the nearby areas too. We are trying to develop Varanasi while keeping in mind the tradition and culture of the city. The identity which has been associated with the city since forever will not be hampered due to the development,” he said while addressing a public rally.
He said that the city has changed in the last four years for good and the work that has been done is clearly visible. Taking a jibe at previous governments he said that Varanasi had been left to the mercy of Lord Shiva under the past regimes.
“Before becoming the MP from Varanasi, whenever I used to come here, I saw electricity wires hanging down the poles. I used to always think about when will the city be able to get rid of such things. Today, there are less hanging wires that can be seen from these poles. The remaining work is also being done at full speed,” he said.
नागपुर :- मुस्लीम समाजाची परिस्थिती अनुसूचित जातींपेक्षाही वाईट आहे. त्यामुळे मुस्लीम समाजातील काही कर्तबगार लोकांनी आणि इतर नागरिकांनी एकत्र येणे आवश्यक आहे.अशी असा दावा करत काटोल चे भाजपचे आमदार आशिष देशमुख यांनी मुस्लीम समाजाला आरक्षण देण्याची मागणी केली आहे. जिल्ह्यातील काटोल तालुक्यातील एका कार्यक्रमात बोलताना ते म्हणाले, की मुस्लीम समाजाला आरक्षण न मिळाल्यामुळे मुस्लीम समाज चांगले शिक्षण घेण्यापासून वंचित राहिला आहे. मुस्लीम समाजाला आरक्षणाची त्वरित गरज असून नोकरी आणि शिक्षणात आरक्षण मिळाले तर तो समाज आपली प्रगती करेल.
मागील राष्ट्रवादी काँग्रेस (एनसीपी) सरकारने ऑक्टोबर २०१४ मध्ये एक नोटीस जारी केली होती, त्यात ५ टक्के कोटा मुस्लीम समाजाच्या नोकरी आणि शिक्षणासाठी ठेवण्यात आला होता. तसेच मराठा समाजाला १६ टक्के आरक्षण देण्याची घोषणा केली होती. या निर्णयाला आव्हान मिळाल्यानंतर बॉम्बे हायकोर्टाने ५ टक्के मुस्लीम आरक्षणासह संपूर्ण मराठा आरक्षण रद्द केले. परंतू, शिक्षण क्षेत्रात मुस्लिमांना ५ टक्के आरक्षण देण्यास परवानगी देण्यात आली होती. परंतु, देवेंद्र फडणवीस सरकारने मुस्लिमांना शिक्षण क्षेत्रात ५ टक्के आरक्षण देण्याच्या मागणाची अंमलबजावणी केली नाही, असेही देशमुख यांनी सांगितले. सच्चर कमिटी आणि रंगनाथ आयोगाने मुस्लीम समाजाला आरक्षण देण्याची शिफारस केली होती. परंतु, त्या शिफारशी सरकारने मान्य केल्या नाहीत. मुस्लीम समाजाची सामाजिक, आर्थिक, शैक्षणिक, राजकीय आणि सांस्कृतिकदृष्ट्या प्रगती होणे गरजेचे आहे. त्यामुळे महाराष्ट्र सरकारने मुस्लीम समाजाला त्वरित आरक्षण द्यावे.
नागपुर :- रेल्वेमध्ये झोपलेल्या प्रवाशांचे मोबाईल चोरणाऱ्या चोराला आरपीएफ कर्मचाऱ्यांनी फिल्मी स्टाईलने अटक केले. आरोपीकडून चोरीचे ७ मोबाईल आणि इतर मुद्देमाल हस्तगत करण्यात आला. महत्वाचे म्हणजे हां चोर स्वतःला पोलीस अधिकारी असल्याचे सांगून चोरी करायचा. चोराला पकडतानाचा सर्व घटनाक्रम सीसीटीव्हीमध्ये कैद झाली आहे.
माहिती अनुसार राजेश हरिशंकर पांडे, असे या आरोपीचे नाव आहे. तो मध्यप्रदेशाच्या देवास येथील रहिवासी आहे. रविवारी रात्री पुणे-हटिया ही रेल्वे स्थानकावरुन निघाल्यानंतर राजेश गाडीतून बाहेर पडला. गस्तीवर असलेल्या रेल्वे सुरक्षा पथकाचे कर्मचारी राजेश खंडारे आणि करण सिंग ठाकूर यांना त्यांच्यावर संशय आल्याने त्यांनी त्यांची चौकशी केली. मात्र, मी पोलीस अधिकारी आहे, असे म्हणत तो त्या कर्मचाऱ्यांचीच दमदाटी करू लागला.
त्यादरम्यान मोबाईलवर बोलण्याच्या बहाणा करत आरोपीने पळण्याचा प्रयत्न केला. त्याच वेळी तिथे असलेल्या सैन्य जवानाने प्रसंगावधान दाखवत आरोपीला पकडून देण्यात आरपीएफच्या कर्मचाऱ्यांना मदत केली. हा सर्व थरार स्थानकावरील सीसीटीव्हीमध्ये कैद झाला. तपासा दरम्यान आरोपी कडून ७ मोबाईल आणि इतर मुद्देमाल जप्त करण्यात आला आहे. आरपीएफचे मंडळ सुरक्षा आयुक्त ज्योती कुमार सतीजा यांनी प्रशंसनीय कामगिरी केल्याबद्दल राजेश खंडारे आणि करण सिंग ठाकूर या कर्मचाऱ्यांना बक्षीस जाहीर केले आहे.
मुंबई : देशभरातील सर्वाधिक उत्पन्न असणाऱ्या आमदारांची यादी जाहीर झाली आहे. एकूण ३१४५ आमदारांमध्ये सर्वात जास्त वार्षिक उत्पन्न असलेल्या पहिल्या २० आमदारांमध्ये महाराष्ट्रातील 4 आमदारांनी स्थान मिळवले आहे. उद्योगपती आणि भाजपचे आमदार मंगलप्रभात लोढा यांचं वार्षिक उत्पन्न ३४.६६ कोटी असून त्यांनी व्यवसाय म्हणून नोकरी दाखवली आहे. ते या यादीत दुसऱ्या क्रमांकावर आहेत. काँग्रेसचे नेते आणि माजी मुख्यमंत्री पृथ्वीराज चव्हाण यांचं वार्षिक उत्पन्न ४.५६ कोटी असून त्यांचा व्यवसाय शेती आहे. ते या यादीत शेवटच्या म्हणजे विसाव्या क्रमांकावर आहेत. सोलापूर जिल्ह्यातील दिलीप सोपल हे या यादीत सहाव्या क्रमांकावर आहेत. त्यांचं वार्षिक उत्पन्न ९.८५ कोटी आहे. पनवेलचे प्रशांत ठाकूर यांचं वार्षिक उत्पन्न- ५.६१ कोटी आहे, ते या यादीत १७ व्या स्थानी आहेत.
आमदार एन. नागराजू (वार्षिक उत्पन्न १५७.०४ कोटी) हे पहिल्या क्रमांकावर आहेत. सर्वात कमी वार्षिक उत्पन्न असणाऱ्या टॉप २० आमदारांच्या यादीत महाराष्ट्राचे ऊर्जामंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे वार्षिक उत्पन्न ९.०९ लाखांसह २० व्या स्थानावर आहेत.
२०१३ ते २०१७ दरम्यान निवडणुकांमध्ये देशातील ४०८६ आमदारांपैकी ३१४५ आमदारांनी वार्षिक उत्पन्न निवडणूक आयोगाकडे सादर केले आहे. ९४१ आमदारांनी अजूनही त्यांची संपत्ती घोषित केलेली नाही. असोसिएशन फॉर डेमोक्रॅटिक रिफॉर्म्सने (एडीआर) हा अहवाल तयार केला आहे.
पाचवी ते १२ वीपर्यंत शिकलेल्या १०५२ आमदारांचे वार्षिक उत्पन्न ३१.०३ लाख रुपये आहे. तर पदवीधर आणि त्या पुढील शिक्षण असलेल्या १९९७ आमदारांचे सरासरी वार्षिक उत्पन्न २०.८७ लाख रुपये आहे. आठवी पास १३९ आमदारांचे वार्षिक उत्पन्न ८९.८८ लाख आहे. अशिक्षित आमदारांचं सरासरी वार्षिक उत्पन्न ९.३१ लाख रुपये आहे.
कर्नाटकमधील एकूण २०३ आमदारांचे वार्षिक उत्पन्न १११.४ लाख रुपये आहे तर महाराष्ट्राच्या एकूण 256 आमदारांचं वार्षिक उत्पन्न ४३.४ लाख रुपये आहे. कर्नाटक पहिल्या तर महाराष्ट्र या यादीत दुसऱ्या स्थानावर आहे.

नवी दिल्ली : विद्यार्थ्यांना विविध प्रवेश परीक्षांचा सराव ऑनलाईन व्हावा, यासाठी केंद्रीय मनुष्य बळ विकास मंत्रालयातर्फे देशभरात 3400 ‘चाचणी सराव केंद्र’ सुरू करण्यात आलेली आहेत. त्यापैकी, महाराष्ट्रात 325 ‘चाचणी सराव केंद्रे आहेत.
केंद्रीय मनुष्यबळ विकासमंत्री प्रकाश जावडेकर यांनी रविवारी दिल्ली येथून देशभरात सुरू करण्यात आलेल्या चाचणी सराव केंद्राचे उद्घाटन गुगल हँगआऊटद्वारे केले. 622 जिल्ह्यांमध्ये एकूण 3400 चाचणी केंद्र सुरू करण्यात आलेली आहेत. यापैकी महाराष्ट्रातील 35 जिल्ह्यांमध्ये 325 चाचणी सराव केंद्र राहतील. या सराव केंद्राचा लाभ 689 केंद्रीय विद्यालय, 403 जवाहर नवोदय विद्यालयांनाही होणार आहे.
केंद्रीय मनुष्यबळ विकास मंत्रालयाअंतर्गत येणाऱ्या नॅशनल टेस्टिंग एजन्सी (एनटीए) च्या माध्यमातून चाचणी सराव केंद्र सुरू करण्यात आलेली आहेत. एनटीएकडून प्रॅक्टिस ॲपही तयार करण्यात आले आहे. विद्यार्थी याचाही उपयोग करू शकतील.
उच्च शिक्षणासाठी विविध प्रवेश परीक्षा ऑनलाईन घेतल्या जातात. यासाठी विद्यार्थ्यांचा सराव व्हावा, म्हणून चाचणी सराव केंद्र सुरू करण्यात आलेली आहेत. या केंद्राच्या माध्यमाने सर्वच स्तरातील विद्यार्थी प्रवेश परीक्षेपूर्वी वारंवार सराव करून तयार होतील. यामध्ये पूर्ण पारदर्शकता पाळली जाईल.
‘चाचणी सराव केंद्र’ दर शनिवारी आणि रविवारी सुरू राहतील. दर शनिवारी या केंद्राची वेळ 02:30 ते 5:30 अशी असणार आहे. तर दर रविवारी दोन शिफ्टमध्ये 11:00 ते 02:00 आणि 02:30 ते 05.30 या वेळेत सुरू राहतील. एका वेळी केंद्रात किमान 30 संगणक किंवा लॅपटॉप इंटरनेट कनेक्शनसह उपलब्ध राहतील. एसएमएसद्वारे विद्यार्थी आपले नाव नोंदवून सराव केंद्राचा लाभ घेऊ शकतील.

Three state-run banks – Dena Bank, Vijaya Bank and Bank of Baroda – will be merged to create the third-largest bank in the country, the government said on Monday, as part of efforts to clean up the country’s banking system.
The government will continue to provide capital support to the merged entity. The announcement, made by Financial Services Secretary Rajiv Kumar during a press conference with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, comes as the country’s banking sector grapples with Rs. 8.99 lakh crore worth non-performing assets or NPAs.
The proposal will be sent to the boards of the three banks, which need to approve it, before any further process, Rajiv Kumar said. He added that the sector needs reforms and the government is taking care of banks’ capital needs.
The government expects that the process of amalgamation would be completed by the end of this financial year. The three banks will continue to function independently till the merger.
Rationalisation of overseas operation in banking sector is in full swing, Mr Kumar said, adding the government is keen to take steps so that history isn’t repeated as far as NPAs are concerned.
Speaking on the merger, Arun Jaitley said that bank lending was becoming weak, hurting corporate sector investments. The government had announced in the budget that consolidation of banks was also in its agenda and the first step has been announced, he added.
“No employee will face any service conditions which are adverse in nature. The best of the service conditions will apply to all of them,” Mr Jaitley said.
The government owns majority stakes in 21 lenders, which account for more than two-thirds of country’s banking assets. PSU Banks account for the lion’s share of bad loans plaguing the sector. The sector needs capital infusion in millions of rupees in the next two years to meet global Basel III capital norms. In January, the government announced Rs. 88,139 crore capital infusion in public sector banks in the current fiscal.
Currently, state-run State Bank of India, and private sector peers HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank are the three largest banks in the country.
Five associates and the Bharatiya Mahila Bank became part of the State Bank of India (SBI) in April last year, which helped the country’s largest lender increase its scale and cut expenses through synergy of operations. In August last year the government had set up a ministerial panel to speed up consolidation of state-run banks.

तामिळनाडूतील एका वृत्तवाहिनीने दिलेल्या माहितीनुसार, या लग्न समारंभात नवरदेवाच्या मित्रांनी पेट्रोलने भरलेला कॅन भेट म्हणून दिला. हे पाहून पाहुण्यांना हसू आवरत नव्हते. या प्रसंगाचा व्हिडीओ सोशल मीडियावर व्हायरल होत आहे.
तामिळनाडूने पेट्रोलच्या दराने ८५.१५ रूपयांची पातळी गाठली आहे. देशातील अनेक राज्यांच्या तुलनेत हे दर जास्त आहेत. त्यामुळे आम्ही ही प्रतिकात्मक भेट दिल्याचे नवरदेवाच्या मित्रांनी सांगितले.
नागपूर महानगरपालिका, आशीनगर झोन क्र. ९ अंतर्गत कर व कर आकारणी विभागातर्फे थकीत मोठ्या बकाया मालमत्ताधारकांचे मालमत्ता थकीत बकाया कर न भरल्यामुळे नागपूर महानगरपालिका कराधान नियमाच्या अन्वये ५ मालमत्ता जप्त करण्यात आल्या आहेत.
जप्तीची कारवाई सहा. आयुक्त श्री गणेश राठोर यांचे मार्गदर्शनाखाली करण्यात आली. उक्त कारवाईत राजस्व निरिक्षक श्री चंद्रशेखर मोहिते, श्री राजेश कडबे, व कर संग्राहक म्हणून श्री अरुण वैद्य यांनी जप्तीच्या कारवाईत भाग घेतला.
जप्तीमध्ये एकूण ५ मालमत्ता एकूण बकाया राशी ९,११,६३३/- करीत जप्त करण्यात आलेल्या असून मालमत्ता धारकांनी ५ दिवसाच्या आत बकाया कराचा भरणा न केल्यास उपरोक्त मालमत्तेचा लिलाव करून बकाया कर वसूल करण्यात येईल.
करीत नागरिकांना आवाहन करण्यात येते कि, त्यांनी आपलेकडील बकाया कराचा भरणा करावा व वॉरंट व जप्ती कारवाई टाळावी .
नागपुर : उपराजधानित जुन्या वादातून गुंडाची हत्या झाल्याची घटना आज (सोमवारी) घडली. राम धुरिया असे मृत गुंडाचे नाव आहे. पोलिसांनी या प्रकरणात हत्येचा गुन्हा नोंदवून तपासाला सुरुवात केली आहे. गुन्ह्याची राजधानी झालेल्या नागपूरमध्ये गुन्हेगारी नियंत्रित करणे पोलिसांच्या आवाक्याबाहेर गेल्याचे चित्र तयार झाले आहे. दर-दिवसाला हत्या, लुटमार आणि मारामारीच्या घटना घडताना दिसत आहेत. यामुळे नागपुरातील गुंडांमध्ये कायद्याची भीती राहिलेली नाही, अशी प्रतिक्रिया सामान्य नागरिक व्यक्त करत आहे.
शनिवारी रात्री उशिरा नागपूरच्या सेंट्रल एवेन्यू मार्गावरील गीतांजली चौकात जुन्या वैमनस्यातून राम धुरिया नामक गुंडावर त्याच्या प्रतिस्पर्ध्यांनी प्राणघातक हल्ला केला. या घटनेनंतर आरोपींनी तेथून पळ काढला. जखमी राम धुरियाला पोलिसांच्या मदतीने रुग्णालयात दाखल करण्यात आले. मात्र, आज सकाळी उपचारादरम्यान त्याचा मृत्यू झाला. या प्रकरणात पोलिसांनी आनंद कुरील, अक्षय निमजे आणि टोनी पौनीकर विरुद्ध हत्येचा गुन्हा नोंदवून या तिघांना अटक केली आहे. मृत राम हा सराईत गुंड असून त्याच्यावर एमपीडीए आणि मोक्कासारख्या गंभीर गुन्ह्यांसह अनेक गुन्ह्यांची नोंद आहे.
नई दिल्ली : भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम के कप्तान विराट कोहली और भारोत्तोलक मीराबाई चानू को सोमवार को संयुक्त रूप से देश के सबसे बड़े खेल सम्मान राजीव गांधी खेल रत्न पुरस्कार देने की सिफारिश की गई है। अगर खेल मंत्री राज्यवर्धन सिंह राठौड़ चयन समिति की सिफारिश को मान लेते हैं, तो वह इस खिताब को पाने वाले देश के तीसरे क्रिकेटर होंगे। इससे पहले यह खिताब महान बल्लेबाज सचिन तेंडुलकर (1997) और दो बार वर्ल्ड कप जीतने वाले पूर्व कप्तान महेन्द्र सिंह धोनी (2007) को मिला है।
इस पुरस्कार की चयन समिति से जुडे़ एक सूत्र ने गोपनीयता की शर्त पर बताया, ‘हां, चयन समिति ने विराट कोहली और मीराबाई चानू के नामों की सिफारिश की है।’ यह भी पता चला है कि भारत के शीर्ष पुरुष बैडमिंटन खिलाड़ी किदांबी श्रीकांत भी इस खिताब की दौड़ में थे। उन्होंने पिछले साल सुपर सीरिज सर्किट में शानदार प्रदर्शन किया लेकिन वह 24 साल की मौजूदा भारोत्तोलन वर्ल्ड चैम्पियन मीराबाई से पिछड़ गए। पिछले साल वर्ल्ड चैम्पियनशिप में 48 किग्रा वर्ग में स्वर्ण पदक जीतने के कारण इस प्रतिष्ठित पुरस्कार के लिए मीराबाई के नाम की सिफारिश की गई है।
उन्होंने इस साल राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों में भी पीला तमगा हासिल किया था, लेकिन चोट के कारण एशियाई खेलों में भाग नहीं ले सकीं। कोहली फिलहाल आईसीसी टेस्ट और वनडे रैंकिंग में शीर्ष बल्लेबाज हैं और पिछले तीन साल से शानदार फॉर्म में चल रहे हैं। 29 साल के कोहली के नाम की 2016 और 2017 में भी सिफारिश की गई थी। लेकिन उस समय चयन समिति में उनके नाम पर सहमति नहीं बनी थी। कोहली के नाम 71 टेस्ट मैचों में 23 शतकों के साथ 6147 रन हैं, जबकि 211 एकदिवसीय में उन्होंने 9779 रन बनाए हैं, जिसमें 35 शतक शामिल हैं।
