ExxonMobil partners with Racing Promotions to blaze the trail for the Indian Racing League
Flagging off on November 19 in Hyderabad, the first edition of Indian Racing League (IRL) powered by Wolf Racing, is the only 4-wheel racing league featuring six city-based franchise teams. Drivers both women and men, including Ex Formula One & Le Mans drivers will be racing in this inclusive equal platform.
The Round 2 and Round 3 will be held at Madras Motor International Circuit (MMRT) on late November and December over weekends, with the grand finale back in Hyderabad on December 10-11.
To usher in a new era and build up the motorsports ecosystem in India, IRL aims to create visibility for the sport on global racing platforms.
The partnership with ExxonMobil will add further value to the sector in India, which is already among the top five fan markets for F1 and has witnessed tremendous growth in popularity for motorsports in recent years.
The maiden edition of IRL will feature 24 drivers participating in 12 races through 4 rounds of pulsating action to claim the top spot using the renowned Aprillia 1100 cc 220 HP engines.
It will also witness India’s first FIA Graded Street Circuit in Hyderabad. It will be the first time that street racing will take place in India for which extensive safety and security arrangements are being made.
With its proximity to the city centre, this track will prove to be a huge crowd puller for the league.

Actor Sunil Shende passes away | Our Nagpur | News
Senior Marathi actor Sunil Shende passed away at his residence in Mumbai, late on Sunday night. He was 75 years old, informs his daughter-in-law Juili Shende.
Sunil fell down late in the evening at his Vile Parle residence in Mumbai and died following internal bleeding around 1 am.
He had worked in a few Hindi films including Vastav, Gandhi and Sarfarosh.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor announces its foray into the CNG segment
November 2022: Keeping in-line with its Customer-First philosophy, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) today announced its foray into the CNG segment, thereby providing more options in both the Toyota Glanza as well as the Urban Cruiser Hyryder model line-up, for customers to choose from.
The Toyota Glanza, which was launched earlier this year, will now be available with a CNG variant in the S & G grades, along with a Manual Transmission powertrain.
The first of its kind in the segment, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder too will now be available with a factory fitted CNG kit in both S & G grades. CBSE Board Date Sheet 2023: CBSE date sheet is likely to be out today, 12 Nov. The list of candidates was completed and submitted by the affiliated schools to the board in the month of July itself.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the Class 10, and 12 exams from February 15, 2023. The timetable for the Class 10, and 12 exams will soon be available on the official website, cbse.gov.in.
The date sheets for the CBSE 10th and 12th-grade exams will reportedly be made public by this month. Once released, the students, parents, and teachers would be able to download the detailed timetable for the classes 10th & 12th, from the official website: cbse.gov.in.
Over 34 lakhs students have reportedly registered for the CBSE Class 10, and 12 Board Exams 2023.
Out of the above, about 18 lakh students are from Class 10th and another 16 lakh from Class 12th. The tentative guidelines and timelines have already been shared by the board for the practical examinations for winter-bound schools. The list of candidates was completed and submitted by the affiliated schools to the board in the month of July.

Mid cap companies are under-researched. The average CAGR performance for leaders within the mid cap segment has been far superior over a one-to-seven-year period, as compared to the S&P BSE Mid cap 150 index. The one-year average CAGR as of September 30, 2022, the most volatile period for the mid cap leaders, was 10 per cent, compared to the index’s one per cent. Likewise, the five-year average CAGR of mid cap leaders stood at 22 percent compared to 13 percent offered by the index and the seven-year CAGR stood at 23 percent as compared to 15 percent for the index.
The S&P BSE 150 Mid cap and Nifty 150 Mid cap TRI indices have rarely dipped into negative territory in three and five-year rolling CAGRs. This aspect stands in good stead for the companies in the mid cap segment.
Canara Robeco Mid Cap Fund may invest up to 35 per cent in equity and equity-related instruments of companies other than mid cap companies, debt and money market instruments and up to a maximum of 10 per cent in units issued by REITs and InvITs.
Canara Robeco Mid Cap Fund would allow lumpsum investments of a minimum of INR 5,000 during the NFO period. It will take investments via SIP, STP and SWP after the NFO period. The fund would be benchmarked against the S&P BSE 150 Mid Cap Index TRI.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the Indian Science Congress (ISC) in Nagpur on January 3, 2023
Nagpur: The city is currently gearing up for the Winter session which is set to be held from December 19 to December 30.
However, along with the winter session, the city will also gear up for the Indian Science Congress which is scheduled to commence on January 3, 2023. As per sources, the event will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Jan 3.
The 108th Indian Science Conference was scheduled to be held at Symbiosis International University in 2021 in Pune as it was their jubilee year. The ISC was scheduled to be held in 2021 and then in 2022, was cancelled twice due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The event is set to be held from January 3 to 7, 2023.
Actor Siddhaant Vir Surryavanshi dies at 46, collapses in gym
Well-known for his roles in shows like Kkusum, Waaris, and Suryaputra Karn, died on Friday at the age of 46. The actor collapsed while working out at a gym.
He is survived by his wife, supermodel Alesia Raut and their two children.
Actor Jay Bhanushali took to Instagram to condole the death of the actor. He posted a photo of Siddhant, writing “gone too soon”. Jay also shared that he was informed about the death by common friends.
Having started his career as a model, Siddhaanth Vir Suryavanshi, also known as Anand Suryavanshi, made his debut with Kksum. The actor also played lead characters in many shows.
He was seen in pivotal roles in shows like Kasauti Zindagi Ki, Krishna Arjun, Kya Dil Mein Hai, and many more. His last projects include TV shows Kyun Rishton Mein Katti Batti and Ziddi Dil.

SC ordered the release of six people accused of the murder of Rajiv Gandhi
The Supreme Court issues an order for the early release of those convicted in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination, including Nalini and RP Ravichandran.
The SC further declared that they were subject to the same rules that applied to Perarivalavan’s release. In the complaint filed by Nalini and RP Ravichandran, the court issued an order.
Nalini Sriharan, Murugan, Santhan, AG Perarivalan, Jayakumar, Robert Payas, and P Ravichandran were the seven defendants found guilty in this case.
Perarivalavan was released from prison in May, while the other six prisoners were still incarcerated in Tamil Nadu.
In connection with the case, each accused person was given a sentence of more than 30 years in jail.
During an electoral event in Sriperumbudur in 1991, a suicide bomber assassinated former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
Dhanu (alias) Thenmozhi Rajaratnam, an LTTE suicide bomber who bent to touch Rajiv Gandhi’s feet, detonated her explosive-laden belt.
In addition to Rajiv Gandhi, 14 other people perished in the Sriperumbudur explosion.
The TADA court punished 26 defendants, including Perarivalan and Nalini, for their part in the assassination in 1998.
Some of the defendants later received death sentences. But in 2014, the SC modified the defendants’ execution sentences to life in prison.
Following the remission term, Perarivalan requested an early prison release.

Maharashtra in talks to get back Shivaji’s sword from UK
The Maharashtra government has approached the Centre to get back a sword of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj which is in a museum in the United Kingdom, state culture minister Sudhir Mungantiwar said on Thursday.
The state government will also try to reach out to UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in this regard, he told reporters in Mumbai.
“In 2024 we will celebrate 350th anniversary of Shivaji Maharaj’s coronation. We wish to bring back his `Jagdamba sword’ from the UK. It has been touched by Shivaji Maharaj so it is extremely valuable for us,” the minister said.
“We have started communication with the Union government to bring back the sword from the UK,” he said, adding that Rishi Sunak — an Indian-origin leader — has now become the prime minister of that country.
“We will try to have dialogue with the UK prime minister Rishi Sunak. If the UK hands over the sword , it would help us a lot as we are organizing a series of events for the special day in 2024,” Mungantiwar said.

When stories stem from situations of deep emotion, artists portraying those characters bear the impact of the same personally. Through the course of many such unconventional stories on screen, artists have spoken up about their process of dealing with these intense emotions. Donal Bisht, of Tu Zakhm Hai – an MX Serial, went through an emotional roller-coaster while getting into the skin of her character – Kavya. The 14-episodic serial has created quite a stir in the audience with its intriguing narrative and the complicated love – hate relationship of Kavya with Viraj (Gashmeer Mahajani). Donal Bisht opens up about the aftermath of the script and how she dealt with it.
“I was so engrossed in the story that it took me a while to come out of it” – said Donal. She further added saying,“Kavya is like the girl-next-door – she is sweet, polite, smart and focused on building an independent life for herself. When I read the script, I was hooked to it, she was the kind of character I’ve been waiting to play. We started prepping for the show and the more I got involved with the story, the more I felt emotionally attached to it. I’ve also studied psychology, so I completely understood Kavya, her vulnerabilities and empathised with her. In fact – there were times when I’ve teared up in rehearsals because I really felt for her dilemma. Portraying the role of this hostage who falls for her captor felt like being caught up in a storm of emotion and it started taking a toll on me.”
Tu Zakhm Hai follows the life of Viraj Trehan – a Hawala King who runs his illegal operations with an iron fist while hiding behind the facade of a real estate mogul. Circumstances lead Viraj to hold the fiercely independent and strong Kavya Grewal hostage as a special guest – caged in his dark embrace while love finds mysterious ways to bloom in this otherwise hopeless situation. But when two diametrically different worlds collide, there are consequences beyond imagination. Will Viraj be able to straighten his present and blur his past? Will Kavya and Viraj find common ground that will allow them to coexist in love?

November 2022, New Delhi: Mr S M Vaidya, Chairman, IndianOil, felicitated the six inmates from Yerawada Prison, Pune, who secured Bronze medal for India at the recently concluded Intercontinental’ Chess for Freedom’ Online Championship for Prisoners, organised by World Chess Federation (FIDE). This was the first time the tournament witnessed the participation of Indian Prison Teams, who competed with more than 85 teams from 46 countries. The participating Indian teams were groomed and trained under IndianOil’s “Parivartan- Prison to Pride” initiative which is the brainchild of Mr Vaidya. Under this outreach, IndianOil is facilitating training programs in various sports such as chess, basketball, badminton, volleyball and carrom across prisons in India to help improve the physical and mental well-being of inmates. During the occasion, Mr Vaidya felicitated Mr Ketan Khaire, who played an instrumental role by imparting training to the jail inmates under the supervision of IndianOil. Mr Vaidya also honoured Mr Shivshankar Patil, Superintendent of Yerwada Jail and two other senior jail officials for supporting this unique cause.

Indian Oil, in association with the All India Chess Federation, selected the Indian teams for this Intercontinental Championship through the first ever “Parivartan – Prison to Pride Online Chess Tournament” wherein 20 Indian prisons took part. Teams from Pune and Prayagraj Prisons booked their berth for the Championship, while the Women & Juvenile teams from Tihar Jail qualified in their respective categories.
Since its launch on 15th August 2021, Indian Oil has covered 37 Prisons spanning 20 states and 5 Union Territories, coaching over 1750 inmates in three phases. Through this outreach, coaching facilities are being provided along with the equipment and kits to the participants. International-level sports persons from Indian Oil are supervising the programme.

Kaveri Priyam, a noted actor who is known for her versatile performances, will be seen playing a vital character in Sony SAB’s upcoming show ‘DilDiyaanGallaan’.
Kaveri is set to essay the role of ‘Amrita’, a responsible, tenacious, intelligent, and charming young girl. While Amrita grew up in New York, she saw her parents in misery because of a long-standing misunderstanding that happened with her grandparents who live in India. In the show she plays a critical part and represents the new generation in the family.

The Supreme Court ruled on Monday that economic-based reservation does not contradict the fundamental provisions of the Indian Constitution while hearing a number of petitions contesting the constitutional validity of the 103rd amendment.
Chief Justice UU Lalit and Justice S Ravindra Bhat disagreed with the quota decision, which was supported by Justices Dinesh Maheshwari, Bela M Trivedi, and JB Pardiwala.
Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) now have a 10% reservation in government positions and admittance to educational institutions thanks to the amendment.
A five- judge bench of the Supreme Court, led by Chief Justice UU Lalit, pronounced the judgment. Reading out the order, Justice Dinesh Maheshwari said: “EWS reservation does not violate the equality code or violate essential feature of constitution and breach of 50 percent does not violate basic structure as the ceiling limit is here only for 16(4) and (5),” Justice Dinesh Maheshwari said.
He added: “Reservation on economic basis does not violate the basic structure or Constitution of India.”
Justice Bela M Trivedi, while concurring with Justice Maheshwari’s statement, said: “The quota requires to be treated as affirmative action by the Parliament. No violation of Article 14 or basic structure of constitution is noted.”
He added, “The EWS quota does not affect the rights of reserved classes by exempting them from its purview. The reservation was brought in to address inequalities created by the caste system. After 75 years, we need to revisit policy to live up to the philosophy of transformative constitutionalism.”
Justice JB Pardiwala, too, was in favour of upholding the quota. “The reservation is not an end, but means to secure social and economic justice… It must not be allowed to become a vested interest… The reservation should not continue for indefinite period of time so as to become vested interested.”
Justice Bhat, while dissenting to the judgment of the aforesaid judges, said: “Amendment practices constitutionally prohibited discriminations and strikes at the heart of the quality code. Allowing breach of the 50 per cent cap set on reservation can lead to further infractions which can result in compartmentalisation.”
FDA seizes suspected adulterated stock worth Rs 74.95 lakh
A series of raids by the Food and Drug Administration office from November 1 exposed the possession of suspected adulterated stock worth Rs 74 lakh 95 thousand by the city’s different traders. The seized materials include spices, betel nut and tea powder.
Black pepper weighing 11 thousand 161 kg worth Rs 58.3 lakh was seized from M Kamakhya Enterprises of Waddhamna, 2 thousand 94 kg Betel Nut worth Rs 9. 59 lakh was seized from Jayalalji Traders in Bharatwada, Betel Nut weighing 1 thousand 916 kg worth Rs 7.30 lakh was seized from Amir Gruha of Shanti Nagar, 1.4 Kg Kharra (powdered concoction containing Betel Nut (Supari), Tobacco Flakes and Calcium Hydroxide (Lime/Choona) worth Rs 1K was seized from M Saikrupa Pan shop and Cold Drinks in Manewada, 3 kgs tea powder worth Rs 840 was seized from Saikrupa Amruttulya from Manewada. The stock seized from five traders totalled 15 thousand 175 kg worth Rs 74 lakh 95 thousand.
Hudkeshwar police station has registered a case under the relevant sections.
All food items have been seized and food samples have been sent to food analysts for testing. As soon as the analysis report is received, further action will be taken against the concerned as per Food Safety and Standards Act. This action was conducted under the guidance of the Joint Commissioner of Nagpur Division S G Annaputre.
INDIA, 7th November 2022: World Diabetes Day is celebrated across the globe on 14th of November to spread awareness around this health condition. The prevalence of diabetes is proliferating in the country and has posed a serious health concern. As per a report by International Diabetes Federation in 2021, over 74 million adults in India are living with diabetes. Based on the Indian Council of Medical Research – INdiaDIABetes (ICMR-INDIAB) study conducted in 15 states, the overall prevalence of prediabetes was 10.3% & diabetes was 7.3%, which makes it imperative to increase our awareness around this condition.
Preventing prediabetes is the key to control progression of Type 2 Diabetes. Making small and mindful changes in our lifestyle such as staying active, eating healthy can go a long way in preventing as well as reversing prediabetes. Nagpur demands justice for Bhairav, another victim of animal cruelty in the city
Animal activists and animal lovers of the city will be gathering today for a mass protest from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Samvidhan Square.
Another case of animal cruelty has been reported in the city. A video is being circulated on social media in which the condition of the dog can be seen who has been beaten brutally to death.
The culprit is a retired BSP man- Arjun Chandanbatwe from Koradi, Nagpur has brutally beaten a dog with a rod and dragged the dog out of the society, resulting in one eye popping out and several serious physical injuries.
Arjun hired a man specifically to throw the dog into the jungle named Ashok Bele. A concerned neighbor when saw Arjun and Ashok doing such an inhuman thing reached out to the animal activist.
The dog got immediate medical attention from vet Reena in Jaripatka, later the dog was shifted to the Rise for Tails NGO. Before the vet at rise could check the dog, he passed away.
An FIR has been done against the culprit by the animal activists.
JSW Elite Division Football Tournament from Nov 12
This year the JSW Elite Division Football Tournament, the premier event of Nagpur District Football Association (NDFA), will be played with out star players from November 12 at its Suyog Nagar ground.
The reason behind it is the suspension of around 100 players by the NDFA clubs for their participation unau thorised leagues.
Addressing media persons NDFA president Haresh Vora said, “We know that number of teams will miss the star players but we had no option but to take strict action to bring discipline among the players.”
Interestingly last year’s best player of the losing side Junaid Fahad (Young Muslim) and one another prominent playr Sorab Akhter will not be seen in action. Apart from them, there are several players who had performed well last year will not there in the team this season. The action has been taken against the maximum MOIL XI players. Vora said ten teams including Ansar Club, Rabbani Club, Young Muslim Football Club, Nagpur Blues, Rahul Sankritayan, Big Ben, SE Railway (HQ), MOIL XI, and IFC Chankapur will vie for the top honours. Top four teams will qualify for the super league. Vora also in formed that this year there would be no relegation.
