February 8, 2023: Global Alliance for Mass Entrepreneurship (GAME) has launched its program to build the capacity of women entrepreneurs (Wes) to access finance and strengthen their enterprises. In October 2022, GAME formally signed an MOU with NRLM to launch a Women Entrepreneur Empowerment Program in 3 States of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan to support over 10,000 women entrepreneurs with access to credit across 15 districts in the 3 states.
The program will be initially supported by strengthening National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) and State Rural Livelihood Mission (SRLM) architecture through capacity building and augmentation, training existing field cadres called Vitta Sakhis. The program also entails supplementing the existing NRLM (National Rural Livelihood Mission) training protocol and using it to train 3000 Vitta Sakhis, who will support potential entrepreneurs from among women SHG members to take up viable business enterprises.
The trained Vittal Sakhis will review compliance and eligibility of NRLM and SRLM (State Rural Livelihood Mission) identified women entrepreneurs. They will also mentor and help develop business plans to formalize their enterprise and secure financial linkages. This program will also enlarge the narrative to establish a comprehensive onboarding process for financial institutions such as Public Sector Banks and Regional Rural Banks to unlock formal credit for the identified women entrepreneurs in rural areas.
GAME has collaborated with Haqdarshak to roll out this program in the 3 States. The collaboration is for a year and aims to link 10,000 women entrepreneurs with format credit.

Annual gold demand soars to a new decade high in 2022

Gold bars and coins continued to hold favour with investors in several countries around the world, which helped to offset weakness in China. Total European gold bar and coin investment for 2022 surpassed 300t, aided by persistently robust German demand. There was also significant growth in the Middle East, where annual demand increased by 42% year-on-year.
Jewellery demand softened slightly in 2022, down 3% at 2,086t. This weakness was largely driven by the marked drop in Chinese annual jewellery demand, down 15% as consumer activity was curtailed by ongoing COVID-19 lockdowns for most of the year. The gold price rally in Q4 also contributed to the annual decline in jewellery demand.

We will likely see jewellery consumption remain resilient, bolstered by a release of pent-up demand as China re-opens; but possibly dragged down by the squeeze on consumer spending if there is a more severe downturn. While there are several possible outcomes, gold has a precedent for performing well in turbulent economic times, highlighting its value as a long-term, strategic asset.”

Budget 2023: There will be no income tax up to ₹7 lakh, announced Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Union Budget 2023 on Wednesday.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while presenting Union Budget 2023-24 in Parliament today, said the income tax rebate has been extended on income up to ₹7 lakh under the new tax regime, up from ₹5 lakh so far. The FM also announced there will not be any new tax for income up to ₹3 lakh.
According to the finance minister, the five major announcements in income tax will benefit India’s “hard-working middle class”. “The first one concerns rebate. Currently, those with income up to ₹5 lakh do not pay any income tax in both old and new tax regimes. I propose to increase the rebate limit to ₹7 lakh in the new tax regime. Thus, persons in the new tax regime, with income up to ₹7 lakh will not have to pay any tax,” she said.
She also proposed to change the tax structure in the personal income tax regime by reducing the number of slabs and increasing the tax exemption limit to ₹3 lakh. “The new tax rates are 0 to ₹3 lakh – nil, ₹3 to 6 lakh – 5%, ₹6 to 9 lakh – 10%, ₹9 to 12 lakh – 15%, ₹12 to 15 lakh – 20% and above ₹15 lakh – 30%, ” Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said during her speech in Parliament.

OPENING OF GATES
The gates of the Jamtha Stadium will be opened to spectators at 7.30 AM on all matchdays. The staff of Bookmyshow.com would be manning the gate/bay entry through turnstiles at bay level. After the scanning of barcode at turnstile, ticket holders will get access to the stands.
TICKETS FOR India Vs Australia Test Match Nagpur SCHOOL STUDENTS VCA has reserved approximately 4000 tickets in the West Stand (Ground floor, Bays O, P, Q) for school students up to Class X only. The tickets have been priced at Rs 10/- per ticket, per day and the same will be sold offline.
Schools should do the following to book and procure their tickets: 1. Students can book tickets only through their respective schools.
One day will be reserved for each school.
3. 1 teacher will accompany 25 students.
4. Students should be in their respective school uniforms and carry their ID cards. The teachers should also carry their ID cards.
5. List of students of each school should be submitted to the VCA well in advance.
6. Schools will have to make their own transport arrangements and inform the VCA the vehicle number and the driver and conductor’s identity well in advance.
TICKETS FOR DIFFERENTLY ABLED PERSONS
The VCA has also reserved a certain number of tickets for differently abled persons and their attendants. They will have to produce a Govt ID/Certificate while buying the tickets.
