Nagpur : ISRO’s Second Launch Attempt For Chandrayaan-2 At 2:43 pm Today

Date:

Nagpur : New Delhi- The 20-hour countdown for the launch of India’s moon mission Chandrayaan-2 began Sunday evening at 6.43 pm. Chandrayaan-2, India’s ambitious Rs. 1,000-crore moon mission, is set to be launched this afternoon at 2.43 pm, the second attempt since its lift-off was aborted on July 15 after a technical glitch.

In tweets, ISRO or Indian Space Research Organisation said it had completed the filling of UH25 fuel in the liquid core stage of the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mark 3 (GSLV Mk 3) rocket, nicknamed ‘Baahubali’.

The moon mission will lift off from Andhra Pradesh’s Sriharikota.

The countdown progresses normally and there is hold on it as of now said, sources in ISRO told.

The weather looks benign with a slightly cloudy sky. Rockets usually do not get affected by rain but lightening could be an issue. As of now all systems are set for the 2.43 pm lift off, said sources.

The success of Chandrayaan-2 mission will make India the fourth country after the US, Russia and China to pull off a soft landing on the moon.
