Visakhapatnam : YSR Congress Party President Y.S. Jagan mohan Reddy sustained a minor injury in a knife attack by a youth at Visakhapatnam airport on Thursday.
The Leader of Opposition, who sustained an injury on his shoulder, continued his journey to Hyderabad after he was provided first aid by the airport staff.
A commandant of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) overpowered the attacker, who was handed over to police.
The attacker was identified as Jaripalli Srinivas, who works at a restaurant at the airport. He came close to Jagan with a request to take a selfie but suddenly took out a small knife from his pocket and stabbed him.

The Information Technology (IT) professionals from Nagpur joined those from Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, and Kolkata in watching the live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech via video-conferencing, on Wednesday.
Modi launched ‘Main Nahin Hum’ portal and computer application in Delhi. The event was telecast live across the above-mentioned cities. National Information Centre (NIC) had made arrangements for webcast of the event at its centres in these cities including Nagpur. It had also invited the IT and electronics manufacturing professionals from Government as well as private establishments.
The ‘Main Nahin Hum’ portal works on the theme ‘Self4Society’. It will enable IT professionals and organisations to join hands towards social causes, and serve the society through one single platform. The portal is expected to help catalyse greater collaboration towards serving the weaker sections of society, by leveraging the benefits of technology.
At NIC Nagpur centre, the professionals watched the live telecast. Nagpur : The Orange City, which has very few landmarks to be identified with, will soon have a grand artwork atop Sitabuldi Metro station that can be later termed as the identity of Nagpur.
Giving this information, MahaMetro managing director Brijesh Dixit said the artwork will be known as what Qutub Minar is to Delhi and Charminar is to Hyderabad. “We want to give a modern identity to the city. Nagpur should be identified with the artwork,” he said.
The MD said the artwork will be a collective work of MahaMetro officials and the architect, who designed the new Airport Metro station. The architect is from Nagpur, Dixit said, adding MahaMetro is confident of completing it within months and tenders will be floated once the estima estimate is finalized.
MahaMetro also plans an open air restaurant on the terrace of the Sitabuldi station which is not occupied by the artwork. “It will be run by a private contractor. . People changing trains can have a cup of tea and snacks there. They can also marvel at the artwork from the restaurant,” Dixit said.

नागपूर : सीबीआयच्या मुख्यालयात अचानक बदल्या झाल्या असून त्यामुळे नागपुरातील सीबीआयला पहिल्यांदाच पोलिस उपमहानिरीक्षक दर्जाचा अधिकारी लाभला आहे. मनीषकुमार सिन्हा यांची येथे नियुक्ती करण्यात आली आहे. या नियुक्तीमुळे सीबीआय कार्यालयात विविध चर्चांना ऊत आला आहे.
सूत्रांनी दिलेल्या माहितीनुसार, नागपूरला सीबीआयचे लाचलुचपत विभागाचे पोलिस अधीक्षक कार्यालय आहे. हे नागपुरातील सर्वांत मोठे कार्यालय होते. यापेक्षा मोठ्या दर्जाचा अधिकारी नागपुरात यापूर्वी नव्हता. मात्र, देशाच्या सर्वांत मोठ्या तपास यंत्रणेपैकी एक सीबीआयच्या अंतर्गत वादाच्या दरम्यानच मोठी घडामोड घडली आहे. सीबीआयचे विशेष संचालक राकेश अस्थाना यांच्यावरील भ्रष्टाचाराच्या आरोपानंतर अस्थाना यांच्यासह सीबीआयचे मुख्य संचालक आलोक वर्मा यांनाही सुट्टीवर पाठवण्यात आले आहे. एम. नागेश्वर राव यांची तातडीने प्रभारी संचालक म्हणून नियुक्ती करण्यात आली आहे. सिन्हा हे यापूर्वी नवी दिल्लीत सीबीआयच्या मुख्यालयात होते. मात्र, अचानक बदल्यांचे वारे वाहू लागल्यामुळे त्यांची बदली नागपुरात करण्यात आली. त्यांना पोलिस अधीक्षक विजयेंद्र बिदारी यांच्याकडून पदभार घेण्याचे आदेश सीबीआयने काढले.

Nagpur: Even as the last ditch effort to save their eateries lined up on the Futala Lake view site failed Nagpur Improvement Trust is out to demolish these food shops on Thursday.
The demolition process would be carried out in full police protection. There are around 20 eating joints along the lake road which have been operating for over eight years. The demolition was being planned for the last two years after the SellAds which allotted the shops to these owners was found to be illegally doing so.
Meanwhile, many restaurant owners have started vacating the shops as truck loads of furniture and other inventories were being transported from the spot.
NIT had previously appointed Sell Ads for operating 20 restaurants and maintaining the lake and its surroundings on February 17, 2010, for five years till February 16, 2015. Then the NIT gave extension upto August 16, 2016, in a controversial manner. Since then, there is no permission to the restaurants but they continued to run at the place.

पुढे बोलताना प्रा.दिवे म्हणाले, नागपूर महानगरपालिकेच्या शाळेतील विद्यार्थी हा गरीब कुटुंबातील आहे. विद्यार्थ्यांच्या अंगी गुण असून त्याला बाहेर वाव मिळत नाही. विद्यार्थ्यांमधील गुणांना वाव मिळावा, त्यांचा सर्वांगीण विकास व्हावा याकरिता महानगरपालिकेच्या शिक्षण विभागाने पुढाकार घेतला आहे. अशा प्रकारच्या विज्ञान केंद्रातून महानगरपालिका शाळांतील विद्यार्थी घडतील असा मला विश्वास आहे, असेही त्यांनी यावेळी सांगितले.

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) announced Wednesday it had won a $777 million contract to supply India’s navy with a maritime version of its Barak 8 air and missile defense system.
The deal signed with India’s state-owned Bharat Electronics Limited to equip seven more Indian warships with the defense system follows a $630 millionorder placed last year.
State-owned IAI, Israel’s largest defense firm, said worldwide sales of the Barak 8 system now totaled more than $6 billion.
Israel is among the world’s top arms dealers, with nearly 60 percent of its defense exports going to the Asia-Pacific region, according to Israeli defense ministry figures.
India, which has longstanding territorial disputes with neighbors China and Pakistan, has signed several big-ticket defense deals since Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power in 2014.

मुंबई : सुमारे १७ लाख राज्य सरकारी कर्मचारी अधिकाऱ्यांना वाढीव महागाई भत्यापोटी जानेवारी २०१८ ते सप्टेंबर २०१८ अशा नऊ महिन्यांची थकबाकी पुढील आठवडाभरात दिली जाण्याचे संकेत असून, १३९ वरून १४२ अशी तीन टक्के महागाई भत्यातील वाढीची थकबाकीची रक्कम दिवाळी भेट म्हणून मिळण्याची शक्यता आहे, असे खात्रीलायक सूत्रांकडून समजते.
राज्य सरकारी कर्मचाऱ्यांना सातव्या वेतन आयोगाचे प्रत्यक्ष लाभ जानेवारी २०१९पासून देण्याचा सरकारचा स्पष्ट मानस असल्याचे आश्वासन अर्थमंत्री सुधीर मुनगंटीवार यांनी महाराष्ट्र राज्य राजपत्रित अधिकारी महासंघाच्या शिष्टमंडळाशी मंगळवारी झालेल्या बैठकीत दिले आहे. महासंघाचे नेते ग. दि. कुलथे आणि सरचिटणीस समीर भाटकर यांनी त्याविषयी माहिती दिली. यापूर्वी अर्थमंत्र्यांनी लवकरात लवकर सातवा वेतन आयोग देण्याचे आश्वासन नागपूरच्या अधिवेशनात दिले होते.
राज्य सरकारी कर्मचाऱ्यांना सातव्या वेतन आयोगाचे लाभ देण्यासाठी बक्षी समितीचा अहवाल ३१ ऑक्टोबरपर्यंत प्राप्त करून घेण्यासाठी अर्थ विभागाने त्या समितीला सुचवावे, अशी आग्रही मागणी या बैठकीत करण्यात आली. राज्यातील सर्व सरकारी अधिकारी-कर्मचाऱ्यांना ६ ऑगस्ट २०१८च्या शासन निर्णयातील तरतुदीनुसार केंद्र सरकारच्या धर्तीवर २.५७ फिटमेंट फॅक्टरनुसार वेतननिश्चिती करण्याचे सरकारने मान्य केले आहे. त्याच सूत्राच्या आधारे जानेवारी २०१९ पासून सातव्या वेतन आयोगाचे सुधारित वेतनश्रेणीचे लाभ देण्याबाबत अर्थमंत्र्यांनी सकारात्मक भूमिका घेतल्याचे कुलथे यांनी सांगितले.

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been conferred with the Seoul Peace Prize for 2018 for his contribution to international cooperation and fostering global economic growth.
The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement on Wednesday that PM Modi expressed his gratitude for the prestigious honour and in the light of India’s deepening partnership with the Republic of Korea, he has accepted the award.
“The world acknowledges. PM Narendra Modi awarded prestigious Seoul Peace Prize 2018 for contribution to high economic growth in India and world through ‘Modinomics’, contribution to world peace, improving human development and furthering democracy in India,” Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted.
“I am glad that the Award Committee has taken note of ‘Modinomics’ whose foundation is to further a spirit of equality and empowerment for all sections of society. Furthermore, the PM’s bold and innovative foreign policy including the ‘Act East Policy’ have been hailed,” Shah tweeted.

The ministry said the award will be presented to PM Modi by the Seoul Peace Prize Foundation at a mutually convenient time.
The Seoul Peace Prize was established in 1990 to commemorate the success of the 24th Olympic Games held in Seoul. The award was established to crystalise Korean people’s yearning for peace on the Korean peninsula and in the rest of the world.
While conferring the award on PM Modi, the award committee recognised his contribution to the growth of Indian and global economies, crediting ‘Modinomics’ for reducing social and economic disparity between the rich and the poor, the Ministry of External Affairs said.
The committee lauded PM Modi’s initiatives to make the government cleaner through anti-corruption measures and demonetisation, it said. The committee also credited him for his contribution toward reginal and global peace through a proactive policy with countries around the world under the ‘Modi doctrine’ and the act east policy, it said.

Nagpur : NITIN Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, had held a meeting at his residence with all traders associations of the city.
The meeting was organised by City BJP Vyapari Aaghadi. Among those prominently present were Mayor Nanda Jichkar, Viky Kukreja, Chairman, Standing Committee, NMC, Ashwin Mudgal, Collector, Nagpur, Krishna Khopde, MLA from East Nagpur, Anil Sole, MLC, Vikas Kumbhare, MLA from Central Nagpur, Praveen Datke, Dayashankar Tiwari, both corporators, Hemant Gandhi, President of Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce (NVCC) and representatives of other traders organisations.

Gadkari directed Ashwin Mudgal, Collector to allot 68 ready shops to the traders. He also advised Krishna Khopde to support traders in the allocation of shops. Motwani also made Gadkari aware about the problems faced by traders at market yard and support received from market administration.
Motwani also requested the Union Minister for widening of Bhandara Road to 15 metres, which was rejected. Gadkari also explained the importance of wide roads at market place.

Nagpur: Two men lost their lives after being crushed under the heavy boulders at Kanhan coal mines. Both had gone to collect coal from waste where the landslide proved fatal for them. The guards of Western Coalfields Limited (WCL), who witnessed the incident, soon rushed to help the duo but in vain.
The deceased have been identified as Ritesh Choure (25), and Satish Deshmukh (35), both residents of Kamptee. WCL officials told the Kanhan police about the incident, who rushed to the spot and dug up the body with the help of a crane at the mines.
According to cops, the deceased used to regularly collect coal from the dumping mines and used it for household purposes or even selling. On Tuesday, when the duo was collecting coal, they were crushed under a sudden landslide.
नागपुर : खापरखेडा पोलीस स्टेशन अंतर्गत येणाऱ्या चणकापूरमध्ये एका कुख्यात गुंडाची मंदिराच्या आवारात हत्या करण्यात आली. चणकापूरमधील प्रसिद्ध हनुमान आणि शनी मंदिराच्या आवारात आज पहाटे ही घटना घडल्याने खळबळ उडाली. कुख्यात गुंड अशोक उर्फ गधा पासवानला परिसरातील इतर ३ गुन्हेगारांनी निघृणपणे ह्त्या करण्यात आली. आरोपींनी हत्येनंतर त्यांचे शीर छाटून घटनास्थळापासून अर्धा किलोमीटर अंतरावर दुसऱ्या मंदिराजवळ फेकून दिले.
माहिती नुसार चणकापूर येथील हनुमान आणि शनी मंदिराच्या आवारात हनुमान मंदिराच्या मागे किचन शेड (स्वयंपाकाचे शेड) आहे. आज पहाटे परिसरातील लोकांनी किचनशेडला लागून कुख्यात गुंड अशोक पासवानचे धड रक्ताच्या थारोळ्यात पडलेले पाहिले. मात्र, या मृतदेहाचे शीर त्या ठिकाणी नव्हते. कुख्यात गुंडाची हत्या झाल्याची बातमी पोलिसांना मिळाल्यानंतर पोलिसांनी त्याच्या शीराचा शोध सुरु केला. घटनास्थळापासून अर्धा किलोमीटर लांब नाग मंदिराजवळ त्याचे शीर आढळून आले.
अशोक पासवान रात्री गावातील एका ठिकाणी नामकरणाच्या कार्यक्रमात गेला होता. त्याच कार्यक्रमात खापरखेडा परिसरातील रोहित सूर्यवंशी, आशिष वर्मा आणि सुरज वरणकर हे गुंडही आले होते. मध्यरात्रीच्या सुमारास हे तीघे अशोक पासवानसोबतच बाहेर निघाले होते. त्यामुळे रात्री या सर्व गुन्हेगारांमध्ये काही कारणाने भांडण होऊन अशोक पासवानची हत्या करण्यात आली असावी, असा संशय पोलिसांनी व्यक्त केला आहे. घटनेनंतर तिन्ही आरोपी फरार झाले असून पोलीस त्यांचा शोध घेत आहेत.

Hyundai Motor India on Tuesday launched the all new Santro car in India. The Hyundai Santro comes in five variants, namely Dlite, Era, Magna, Asta and Sportz while the prices start at Rs 3,89,900.
Hyundai Santro: Specifications
The Santro comes in three engine options—manual, automatic and CNG. The petrol engine has a 1.1 litre, four cylinder petrol engine that makes 68bhp and 99Nm of peak torque. The CNG engine, on the other hand, generates 59bhp and delivers 20.3kmpl fuel economy.
Although the car follows the same tall-boy stance, the dimensions and looks have changed dramatically from the previous model. It’s now 45 mm longer and has a wheelbase of 3610 mm while it will ride on 14-inch steel wheels. The design cues are now more angular than rounded.
The Santro Dlite is the most bare basic variant of all. It comes with no power steering or electric windows but has driver’s side airbag and ABS with electronic brake distribution. The variant that sits just above it, the Santro Era, comes with power steering and AC with heater. These two variants come with manual transmission only.
The Santro Magna receives rear AC vents, power windows and 2DIN stereo with AUX, USB and Bluetooth while the Sportz variant receives steering mounted controls, reverse parking sensors, rear defogger and a touchscreen infotainment head unit with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and mirror link enabled. These two variants come in manual, automatic and CNG variants.
The Santro Asta, the top of the line model, has a reverse camera, rear washer and wiper.
The new Santro comes in seven colours—Imperial Beige, Marina Blue, Fiery Red, Typhoon Silver, Polar White and Stardust.

Mumbai : A shocking news has come to light that Bollywood actor and Bigg Boss ex-contestant Ajaz Khan has been arrested in the drugs case. The television actor was arrested by the Navi Mumbai Police on Tuesday, is being questioned.
As per sources, the actor had 8 ecstasy tablets with him. He is set to be produced before the court today over the same.
The actor is yet to make any public statement post his arrest and no explanation whatsoever has come from him regarding the possession of the drug.
Talking about Ajaz Khan, he has worked in many Bollywood films like Rakhta Charitra, Nayak and other films also. He had also worked in the Salman Khan’s famous television show Bigg Boss season 7 and also in Comedy Nights with Kapil and others.
Paytm के फाउंडर विजय शेखर शर्मा का पर्सनल डाटा चुराकर 20 करोड़ रुपए उगाही करने का मामला सामने आया है. विजय शर्मा का निजी डाटा कंपनी के ही तीन कर्मचारियों ने चुराया और फिर उन्हें ब्लैकमेल किया. इस बाबत नोएडा के सेक्टर 20 में शिकायत दर्ज कराई गई है. पुलिस ने ब्लैकमेल करने वाले तीनों कर्मचारियों को गिरफ्तार कर लिया है. इनमें एक महिला भी शामिल है, जो विजय की सेक्रेटरी सोनिया धवन बताई जा रही है.
नोएडा के एसएसपी अजय पाल शर्मा के मुताबिक विजय शर्मा ने उनसे शिकायत की थी कि कोई उन्हें ब्लैकमेल कर रहा है. विजय शर्मा ने बताया कि 20 सितंबर को जब वे जापान में थे, उसी समय उनके पास थाइलैंड के एक नंबर से ब्लैकमेलर का कॉल आया. उसने दावा किया कि विजय शर्मा के निजी डाटा उसके पास हैं. इसके एवज में ब्लैकमेलर ने 20 करोड़ की मांग की. साथ कहा कि अगर उसे पैसे नहीं दिए गए तो वे पर्सनल डाटा सार्वजनिक कर देगा, जिससे विजय शेखर की इमेज खराब हो जाएगी. ब्लैकमेलर ने कहा कि उसके पास ये डाटा कंपनी के ही एडमिन डिपार्टमेंट में काम करने वाले राहुल और देवेंद्र से मिली है. इन दोनों कर्मचारियों को विजय शर्मा के पर्सनल डाटा कंपनी में सेक्रेटरी सोनिया से मिली है. ब्लैकमेलर ने ये भी बताया कि उगाही की रकम का 10 प्रतिशत राहुल और देवेंद्र को दिया जाएगा.
कंपनी के सीनियर वाइस प्रेसिडेंट और विजय शर्मा के भाई अजय शर्मा ने बताया कि ब्लैकमेलर को यकीन दिलाने के लिए उन्होंने उनके बताए खाते में दो लाख रुपये ट्रांसफर भी कर दिए, ताकि उन्हें सबूतों के साथ रंगे हाथ पकड़ा जा सके. विजय शेखर के मुताबिक अपने ही कर्मचारियों की इस कारगुजारी पर उन्हें पहले तो विश्वास ही नहीं हुआ. इससे वे तनाव में आ गए. शिकायत मिलने पर नोएडा पुलिस कंपनी के सेक्टर पांच स्थित ऑफिस पहुंची और तीनों आरोपियों- सेक्रेटरी सोनिया धवन, राहुल और देवेंद्र को गिरफ्तार कर लिया. पुलिस के मुताबिक इस पूरी साजिश की मास्टरमाइंड सोनिया है.
