State to spend Rs 150 cr on Ramtek temples

Nagpur : Maharashtra Government will spend a whopping Rs 150 crore for the development of historical temples, monuments situated in Ramtek tehsil in Nagpur district.

Most of these temples are revered by millions and frequented by pilgrims. Ramtek Gadh Mandir has a special historical and religious importance for believers.

The High Court suo-motu treated the news-item as PIL and passed series of directives to strengthen the temple structure. Due to judicial intervention and state response in recent years, many temples at Ramtek with a very rich cultural history will now get a face-lift.

Tourism and Cultural Department has given permission to undertake work of Rs 50 crore in first phase, including Rs 18.50 crore for improvement and strengthening of archaeological structures in the area. Presently, the State Government has released a token amount of Rs 7 crore for the work.

In the latest directive issued by the department, the Archaeological Department will undertake maintenance and improvement of stone stairs of Gadh Mandir, Ramtek and conservation of Narsimha and Rudra Narsimha temples. The total cost of the project is Rs 4.14 crore. The government has sanctioned Rs 64 lakh for strengthening of path from Kapurwadi to Gadh Mandir and Rs 3.39 crore for strengthening of Gangasutra and Panch Shikhri temples at Ambala Lake.

The government has sanctioned budget of Rs 5 crore for Chamarghat, Shiv temple and other temples of Ambala Lake premises. The government will also spend Rs 4.27 crore on historical monuments of Ambala Lake.

The Urban Development Department of Maharashtra Government will provide funds for the improvement and strengthening of historical monuments of the temple.

There is a belief that Lord Ram rested at Ramtek while he was in exile. The Ashram of Rishi Agastya is also situated close to Ramtek. The ‘padukas’ of Lord Ram are believed to have been worshipped here for centuries. The present Ram temple of Ramtek was built by Raje Raghuji Bhosale. The present temple is believed to be around 400 years old.

UK Court Orders Extradition of Vijay Mallya to India

London : Vijay Mallya, the Indian tycoon who was nicknamed the” King of Good Times” can be extradited to India to face a fraud trial, a London court ruled on Monday.

Emma Arbuthnot, chief magistrate at Westminster magistrates’ court, ordered extradition after finding there was a case to answer in India on the fraud allegations.

Mr Mallya has fought the Indian government’s attempt to extradite him to face a number of criminal charges linked to the 2012 collapse of Kingfisher Airlines connected to the alleged diversion of funds from bank loans including the state-owned IDBI Bank.

He alleges he is the victim of a high profile “witch hunt” by Indian prime minister Narendra Modi.

Though Mr Mallya has the right to appeal against the decision, the ruling is a major victory for Mr Modi’s government, which has fought for the last two years to secure the erstwhile liquor baron’s extradition to India as part of its declared war on the “crony capitalism” of predecessors.

Urjit Patel resigns as RBI governor

Mumbai : Reserve Bank of India Governor Urjit Patel has resigned. Patel said he was resigning on account of personal reasons.

There has been speculation of his resignation after deputy governor Viral Acharya’s speech last month that sought to defend the autonomy of the RBI and the subsequent differences between the government and the RBI over various issues related to liquidity, credit flow and the controls governing weak banks.

“On account of personal reasons, I have decided to step down from my current position effective immediately. It has been my privilege and honour to serve in the Reserve Bank of India in various capacities over the years. The support and hard work of RBI staff, officers and management has been the proximate driver of the Bank’s considerable accomplishments in recent years.I take this opportunity to express gratitude to my colleagues and Directors of the RBI Central Board, and wish them all the best for the future,” Patel said in a statement.

India successfully test fires nuclear-capable Agni-5 missile

Bhubaneswar: India successfully test fired its indigenously developed nuclear-capable ballistic missile Agni-5 off the Odisha coast on Monday. The surface-to-surface missile having a strike range of 5,000 km was launched at 1.30 p.m. from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Abdul Kalam Island in Bhadrak district, said Defence Ministry sources.

The sources said the missile test was successful. The missile developed by the Strategic Forces Command and the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is the most advanced in terms of navigation and guidance, warhead and engine.

This was the seventh trial of the state-of-the-art Agni-V ballistic missile. It was last tested on June 3, 2018.

आता महापालिकेचा मालमत्ता कर वसूल करणार खासगी एजन्सी

नागपूर : महापालिकेने मालमत्ता कर विभागाच्या उत्पन्नात वाढ व्हावी, म्हणून शहरातील मालमत्ताचे सर्वेक्षण केले. या सर्वेक्षणामध्ये दीड लाखापेक्षा अधिक मालमत्ता वाढल्याचे निदर्शनात आले आहे. मात्र, वसुलीत अपेक्षित वाढ झालेली नाही. त्यामुळे मालमत्ता कर वसुलीसाठी मनपा आता खासगी कंपनीची नियुक्ती करणार आहे.

मार्चपूर्वी मालमत्ता कर वसुलीची शक्यता फार कमी आहे, त्यामुळे या समस्येवर कायमस्वरुपी पर्याय म्हणून कर वसुलीसाठी महापालिका खासगी कंपनीची मदत घेणार आहे. सभागृहाच्या मंजुरीनंतर यावर शिक्कामोर्तब केले जाणार आहे. खासगी कंपनीला मालमत्ता कर वसुलीच्या टक्केवारीच्या आधारावर कमिशन देण्यात येणार आहे. मात्र, खासगी कंपनीने ७५ टक्क्यापेक्षा अधिक वसुली केली तर कमिशनच्या टक्केवारीमध्ये देखील वाढ होईल, अशी माहिती प्रशासनाकडून देण्यात येत आहेत.

आर्थिक वर्ष मार्च २०१९ ला संपत असल्याने या वर्षातील वसुली एजन्सीकडे देणे शक्य नाही, त्यामुळे पुढील आर्थिक वर्षात म्हणजेच एप्रिल २०१९ पासून खासगी एजन्सीकडे मालमत्ता कर वसुलीची जबाबदारी देण्याचा प्रस्ताव आहे. महापालिकेचे स्थायी समिती सभापती वीरेंद्र कुकरेजा यांनी यावृत्ताला दुजोरा दिला आहे.

Central Railway to run 50 winter special trains from Mumbai to Goa, Nagpur

Central Railway will run 50 winter special trains from Mumbai to Karmali, Nagpur, Ajni and Thivim between December 17 and January 8, 2019 to clear passenger rush.

A CR statement Monday said the 02025 Superfast Special train will leave CSMT every Thursday from Dec 20, 2018 to Jan 3, 2019 at 5 am and arrive at Karmali at 2pm the same day.

The 02026 Special, in the return leg, will leave Karmali every Thursday from December 20 to Jan 3, 2019 at 2.30 pm and arrive CSMT at 9.50 pm the same day.

CR will also run 02027 Special train that will leave CSMT every Saturday and Sunday from December 22, 2018 to Jan 6, 2019 at 12.40 midnight and will arrive at Karmali at 1.30 pm same day.

The 02028 Special will leave Karmali every Saturday and Sunday from December 22, 2018 to Jan 6, 2019 at 2 pm and arrive CSMT at 9.50pm same day.

The 02029 Special will leave CSMT every Monday from December 17, 2018 to Jan 7, 2019 at 12.40 midnight and will arrive Karmali at 1.45 pm same day. The 02030 Special will leave Karmali every Monday from December 17, 2018 to Jan 7, 2019 at 2pm and arrive CSMT at 9.50 pm same day.

It will also run 01119 Special train leaving Ajni on every Monday from Dec 24, 2018 to Jan 7, 2019 at 7.50 pm and will arrive in Thivim at 10.30 pm next day. While 01120 Special will leave Thivim on every Tuesday from Dec 25, 2018 to Jan 8, 2019 at 9 pm and will arrive in Ajni at 10.50 pm next day.

The statement added that 01045 Special will leave LTT every Friday from Dec 21, 2018 to Jan 4, 2019 at 1.10 am and will arrive at Thivim at 1.50 pm same day. The 01046 Special will leave Thivim every Friday from Dec 21, 2018 to Jan 4, 2019 at 2.20 pm and will arrive in LTT at 12.20 midnight next day.

The CR statement also said the 02031 Special will leave CSMT every Saturday from Dec 22, 2018 to Jan 5, 2019 at 12.20 post midnight and will arrive in Nagpur at 1.55 pm same day.

The 02032 Special will leave Nagpur every Sunday from Dec 23, 2018 to Jan 6, 2019 at 3 pm and will arrive in CSMT at 6.10 am next day. CR will also run AC special trains between Mumbai and Karmali.

The 02033 AC Special train will leave CSMT every Wednesday from Dec 19, 2018 to Jan 2, 2019 at 12.40 post midnight and will arrive in Karmali at 1.30 pm same day. The 02034 AC Special will leave Karmali every Wednesday from Dec 19, 2018 to Jan 2, 2019 at 2pm and arrive CSMT at 9.50 pm same day.

The bookings for these winter special trains will open from December 11, 2018.

No takers for NIT’s Gokulpeth mall plan

Nagpur : The Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) has received no response from private companies for development of shopping mall planned in place of the existing vegetable market, shops and commercial complex in Gokulpeth despite the land being situated at- a prime location.

The NIT board of trustees, in a meeting held a few days ago, decided to go for fresh tendering process.Accordingly, tender will be floated based on develop, build, finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT) model.

An NIT official told that only two private companies SIWL Private Ltd and Galaxy Infrastructure from the city attended the pre-bid meeting, but did not participate in the bidding process. No other company turned up during the bidding process.

The NMC had first planned the project in 2004. There were disputes between the NMC and the NIT over ownership of the land. Later, it came to fore that NIT owns the land.

Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis had also directed the NIT to take up the project following which the civic agency had initiated necessary steps.

In 2014, the NIT had appointed architect for preparing the design of the proposed mall. Later, the NIT roped in transaction adviser for pre and post tendering process.

The plan is to develop G+21 floor shopping mall on sprawling 14,205.55 sq.mt land. The mall will come up on the land where at present vegetable, mutton markets, shops around the market and G+3 floor commercial complex situated on West High Court road exist. Apart from commercial facilities, the NIT will provide proportionate space to its 73 lease holders and NMC’s 223 lease holders in the proposed mall.

Another major advantage of the mall will be parking facility for 1,000 four-wheelers and 2,500 two-wheelers. The estimated cost of the project is around Rs 400 crore.

RLSP chief Upendra Kushwaha resigns as Union minister

Delhi : Union minister and RLSP chief Upendra Kushwaha has resigned from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s council of minister on Monday, reports. The move comes a day ahead of the Winter Session, capping months of sparring between Kushwaha and the BJP over seat sharing in Bihar for the Lok Sabha polls.

“Kushwaha will hold a press conference in Delhi at 2 pm to make the announcement,” RLSP spokesperson Fazal Imam Malik said, confirming the news.-

The RLSP chief was quoted by ANI as saying that he would not be attending a meeting of NDA allies to be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi today, ahead of the Winter Session of Parliament.

Kushwaha had last month set a deadline of November 30 for the BJP to make its stand on seat sharing clear, saying ““It would be very harmful for the NDA if a decision on seat-sharing is not taken soon. We must get a respectful number of seats.”

The RLSP, an ally of the BJP in the NDA in the 2014 elections, had won three seats in the general elections. The BJP had bagged 22 seats and the LJP, six. But, with the return of the JD(U) in the NDA last year after the Grand Alliance disintegrated, the equation has changed within the grouping this time.

Kushwaha has been upset with the BJP after it asserted that the RLSP would not be given more than two seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha election, even as it went out of way to accommodate Kumar by agreeing that the saffron party and the JD(U) would fight equal number of seats.

Khasdar Mahotsav : Mega Play ‘Rashtra Purush Atal’ projects a true patriot with unparalleled vision

Nagpur : Khasdar Mahotsav’s presentation of Mega Play ‘Rashtra Purush Atal’, by Prayas Bahuudeshiya Sanstha Nagpur showcased the dynamism of former Prime Minister late Atal Behari Vajpayee, who probably was born with a mission to propagate true ideology of Hindusim, one family policy and patriotism of highest order.

The play showed the rise of Atalji as a boy in his school uniform, mourning the suspicious death of Chandrashekhar Azad and his taking up cudgels to unify people to fight the British. He met Guruji Golwalkar and joined Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) in 1942 at Lucknow in a RSS Camp. His poetic capability, burning desire to do something for the nation and the propagation of Hindu Ideology impressed Guruji.

Atalji’s rise in the form of a young firebrand leader whose powerful oratory became voice of the people, that challenged the British and also became a way of expression in the Parliament that exposed wrong policies of the Government.

The suspicious death of Pt Deendayal Upadhyay once again provided the trigger to make Atalji rise and take up the party’s interest. Subsequent episodes showed the unseating of Indira Gandhi, the declaration of emergency when RSS leaders were put behind bars.

Lifting of Emergency led to re-election and forming of Janata Party under Morarji Desai, that did not last long and Janata Party was split. This led Vajpayee, Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and senior party leaders to form Bharatiya Janata Party and declaring Vajpayee as the Party leader. The rest is history.

Vinod Raut has done extremely well in portraying Vajpayee’s style, specially while speaking. Anil Palkar as Guriji Golwalkar shows his classy versatility in presenting various personalities. Voice over by Vinod Purohit, was superb. His baritone showing deep understanding of Atalji’s pauses, while speaking or presenting a poem.

Earlier, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari felicitated ex-servicemen, hailing from the city, who had put in yeoman service while serving in the Army, Air Force and Navy. Former Vice Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Shirish Deo was felicitated with a shawl, shrifal and a memento. Also felicitated were Col J S Bhandari (Retd), Col Anurag Gupta (Retd), Retired JCO’s Hav Sudhakarrao More, Sergeant Manohar Bhatkulkar, Hav Vilas Dawne, ex-servicemen from India Navy Sanjay Tiwari, Leena Belkhode, freedom fighters Yadaorao Devgade, and Narayanrao Gode.

नागपूर : ट्रॅव्हल्समध्ये सामूहिक अत्याचाराचा प्रयत्न

नागपूर : मध्य प्रदेशातील सागर येथून मजुरीसाठी नागपुरात आलेल्या १९ वर्षीय तरुणीवर खासगी बसमध्ये (ट्रॅव्हल्स) सामूहिक अत्याचाराचा प्रयत्न करण्यात आला. तरुणीने वेळीच स्वत:ची सुटका करून घेतल्याने अनर्थ टळला. ही खळबळजनक घटना सीताबर्डीतील एमपी बसस्थानक भागात शनिवारी पहाटे घडली. याप्रकरणी सीताबर्डी पोलिसांनी विनयभंगाचा गुन्हा दाखल करून चालक, वाहकासह तिघांना अटक केली.

चालक मुकेश जगदीशप्रसाद सिंगरवारे (वय २९, रा. मंडला), वाहक अरविंद गणेशप्रसाद पांडे (वय ४१, रा. सागर) व हेल्पर भय्यालाल अशी अटकेतील आरोपींची नावे आहेत. पोलिसांनी दिलेल्या माहितीनुसार, ८ डिसेंबरला पीडित तरुणी ट्रॅव्हल्सने नागपुरात आली. प्रवासादरम्यान मुकेश व अरविंदची तिच्यावर नजर होती. पहाटे ५ वाजताच्या सुमारास ती सीताबर्डीतील एमपी बस स्थानकावर उतरली. दोघे तिच्यावजळ आले. तिच्याकडील बॅग हिसकावली व दोघे परत ट्रॅव्हल्समध्ये गेले. तरुणी बॅग घेण्यासाठी ट्रॅव्हल्समध्ये गेली असता दोघांनी तिच्यावर सामूहिक अत्याचाराचा प्रयत्न केला. तरुणीने आरडाओरड केली. स्वत:ची सुटका करण्याचा प्रयत्न केला. ‘माझा भाऊ मला घ्यायला आला आहे, तो बाहेर उभा आहे’, असे तिने दोघांना सांगितले. त्यामुळे दोघे घाबरले व तिला सोडले.

ट्रॅव्हल्समधून खाली उतरताच तिने पोलिस नियंत्रण कक्षाला कळविले. पोलिस नियंत्रण कक्षाने सीताबर्डी पोलिसांना माहिती दिली. माहिती मिळताच सीताबर्डी पोलिस स्टेशनचे वरिष्ठ पोलिस निरीक्षक हेमंतकुमार खराबे यांच्या मार्गदर्शनाखाली पोलिस उपनिरीक्षक सागर दानडे यांच्यासह सीताबर्डी पोलिसांचा ताफा तेथे पोहोचला. पीडित तरुणीच्या तक्रारीवरून पोलिसांनी विनयभंगाचा गुन्हा दाखल केला. तिघांना अटक केली. भय्यालाल याला या घटनेची माहिती होती. मात्र, त्याने पोलिसांना माहिती दिली नाही किंवा दोघांना हटकले नाही. त्यामुळे त्यालाही अटक करण्यात आली.

ग्रीन बस पुन्हा सुरू होणार; स्कॅनियाकडून हिरवी झेंडीची प्रतीक्षा

नागपूर : नागपूर शहराची ओळख ठरुन बंद पडलेली ग्रीन बस पुन्हा सुरू होण्याचे संकेत आहेत. सध्या अडगळीत पडलेल्या या बस वर्षारंभी पुन्हा रस्त्यावर धावणार आहे. रेड बसचा एक कंत्राटदार असलेल्या ‘ट्रॅव्हल्स टाईम’ या कंत्राटदाराने दिलेल्या प्रस्तावास मान्यता देण्यात आली असून, आता केवळ बसचे मुळ मालक असलेल्या ‘स्कॅनिया’ कंपनीकडून हिरवी झेंडीची प्रतीक्षा आहे.

केंद्रीय मंत्री नितीन गडकरी यांनी पर्यावरणपुरक बस सुरू करण्याचा महत्वाकांक्षी प्रकल्प सुरू केला होता. मात्र,प्रारंभापासूनच ही बस तोटयात धावत असल्याने शेवटच्या टप्प्यात ही बस बंद पडली. या बसचा प्रवास विविध राज्यातील शहरातही करण्यात आला. पारंपारिक इंधनापासून होणारे प्रदुषण टाळण्यासाठी ही बस सुरू करण्यात आली होती. इथेनॉलमिश्रीत इंधन स्वस्त असल्याने तसेच पर्यावरणाच्यादृष्टीने फायद्याचा असल्याने या बसचा प्रयोग करण्यात आला होता. मात्र, या इंधनाचा दर जास्त असल्याने जास्त तिकीट दरामुळे प्रवाशांनी प्रवास नाकारला. बस चालविण्यापेक्षा मेंन्टेनंन्सचा खर्च अधिक असल्याने स्कॅनिया कंपनीने ही सेवाच बंद करण्याचा निर्णय घेतला. या बसचा ५ कोटीचा निधीही मनपाकडे थकीत आहे. बससेवेचा तोटा व थकबाकी मिळत नसल्याने अखेर स्कॅनिया कंपनीने ही सेवाच बंद करण्याचा निर्णय घेतला. त्यासाठी मनपाच्या परिवहन विभागाला रितसर नोटीसही बजावली होती. स्कॅनिया ही कंपनी या बसच्या उत्पादन क्षेत्रात आहे.

सेवा क्षेत्रात काम नसल्याने केवळ आग्रहाखातर ही सेवा सुरू करण्यात आली होती. गडकरी यांनी यासाठी आग्रह केला होता. सेवा बंद केल्यानंतरही ती पुन्हा सुरू व्हावी यासाठीही गडकरींनी शिष्टाई केली होती. मात्र, स्कॅनिया कंपनीने त्यांचे भारतातील सर्व प्रकल्प गुंडाळल्याने ही सेवा बंद करण्यावर ठाम राहीली. दरम्यान, ही सेवा पुन्हा सुरू व्हावी यासाठी मनपातर्फे प्रयत्न करण्यात आले. त्यानुसार रेड बस चालविणारी एक कंपनी ट्रॅव्हल्स टाईमने ही सेवा सुरू करण्याची तयारी दर्शविली. यासाठी २५ ग्रीन बस खरेदी करण्याचीही तयारी दर्शविली. त्यामुळे परिवहन समिती सभापती बंटी कुकडे यांच्या मध्यस्थीनी ट्रॅव्हल्स टाईम कंपनीच्या संचालकांची स्थायी समितीसोबत बैठकही झाली. यात सकारात्मक निर्णय घेण्यात आला. आता केवळ स्कॅनिया कंपनीच्या होकाराची गरज आहे.

इलेक्ट्रीक बससाठीही प्रयत्न

दरम्यान, इलेक्ट्रीक बसही नव्या वर्षात सुरू व्हावी असे प्रयत्न सुरू आहेत. यासाठी राज्य सरकारने मनपाला पाच इलेक्ट्रीक बस खरेदीसाठी दिलेले ९.२५ कोटीचा निधी प्रशासनाने इतरत्र वळविला आहे. हा निधी परिवहन विभागाला मिळाल्यास इलेक्ट्रीक बसही सुरू करण्यात काहीच अडचण राहणार नाही, असे कुकडे यांनी स्पष्ट केले.

Rishabh Pant breaks numerous records in the Adelaide Test

Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant has created history in the ongoing first Test match between India and Australia at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide as he has been involved in as many as 12 catches in the match, which is the most by any Indian wicket-keeper in the format and the joint-most by any wicket-keeper.

In the first innings, Pant took six catches and in the second, he took five. He could have easily caught one more but dropped a regulation catch to give Nathan Lyon a chance off the bowling of R Ashwin early in his innings.

Pant joined an elite group of four other wicket-keepers, who had taken 11 catches in a Test and the list includes the likes of former England wicket-keepers Jack Russell and Bob Taylor, South Africa’s AB de Villiers and the greatest wicket-keeper to have graced the sport, Adam Gilchrist.

With he caught Mitchell Starc off Mohammed Shami, he overtook Wriddhiman Saha’s record of 10 catches which he took in the first Test against South Africa in Cape Town earlier this year.

For India, Wriddhiman Saha has effected 10 dismissals and is followed by MS Dhoni, who was involved in nine dismissals in the 2014 MCG Test. If only the catches are taken into consideration, Pant leads the way followed by Saha with 10 catches, Nayan Mongia (twice) and MS Dhoni with eight catches each.

When he caught Tim Paine off the bowling of Jasprit Bumrah, he broke former England gloveman David Murray’s record of nine catches for the most number of catches taken by a visiting keeper in a Test Down Under.

For someone who was criticized a lot for his wicket-keeping during the tour of England, Pant has come a long way to equal the world record for the most catches in a Test.

Major fire in Jagnath Budhwari, Yarn spinning unit destroyed

Nagpur : A household yarn spinning unit was reduced to ashes in a fire that broke out on Sunday morning in Jagnath Budhwari area of Tehsil Police Station. It took fire-fighters around six-and-a-half hours to douse the flames. Meanwhile, they rescued two women and a man from adjacent buildings. No person was injured in the fire.

Anil Gole, Station House Officer (SHO), Ganjipeth Fire Station, informed that Sunil Natthudas Dhotkar owns a building in the area. Dhotkar family was living on second and third floors of the building while their yarn spinning unit was situated in the basement. At around 10.40 am, Sunil noticed fire in the unit and immediately alerted Fire Department. Fire engines from Ganjipeth and nearby fire stations were dispatched for fire-fighting operation. However, the fire engines took around 40 minutes to reach the spot due to congested lanes and traffic chaos on the way.

The fire-fighters declared the incident as a Level III blaze. Total 10 fire engines were pressed into service to douse the flames, said SHO Gole. Two water pumps were also installed at a well for uninterrupted water supply for the fire-fighting operation.

SHO Gole also informed that seven buildings adjacent to the one engulfed in fire were badly damaged due to fire and thick smoke. Two women — Sayara Abdul Rajjak (90) and Rubina Abdul (40) were rescued from Tahira Manzil building while a 67-year-old man was rescued from Burhani Manzil by the fire-righters. After almost six-and-a-half hours of fire-fighting operation, fire-fighters managed to douse the flames at 6.30 pm.

Traffic movement in the area was badly affected due to the incident. A large numbers of police personnel from Tehsil Police Station and Traffic Branch were deployed to manage the crowd of onlookers. To avoid chaos, traffic towards Jaganth Budhwari area was diverted, and auto-rickshaws and buses were asked to drop passengers at a distance. Total loss is estimated to be around 12 lakh. SHO Gole said that the cause of fire still remains unknown. Tehsil PI Vaibhav Jadhav and Fire Officer D N Nakode and others took part in the operation.

नागपुर : भारतीय सेना की उत्तर महाराष्ट्र और उप गुजरात की कमांड और सेंट्रल इंडिया विंटेज ऑटोमेटिव एसोसिएशन के संयुक्त बैनर तले रविवार को शहर में विंटेज कार और बाइक प्रदर्शन का आयोजन किया गया था। जिसमे विंटेज कार और बाइक का खुमार एक बार फिर नागपुर के लोगों के सिर चढ़कर बोल रहा था।

प्रदर्शनी में एक से बढ़कर एक विंटेज कार और बाइक प्रेमियों को १९४२, १९४७ और द्वितीय विश्व युद्ध के दौरान चलने वाली कारें देखने को मिली। का प्रदर्शनी के पहले पीटी ग्राउंड से शुरू रैली की शुरुवात की गई थी। जिसमें ४० विंटेज कारे और लगभग २० मोटर बाइक शामिल थीं।

बता दे रैली में आकर्षण का केंद्र नेत्रहीन नेविगेटर थे, जो हर कार में नेविगेटर के रूप में बैठे थें। वो ब्रेल लिपी में लिखा गया रोड मेप पढ़ाकर ड्राईवर को रास्ता दिखा रहे थे। जिसमे २५ विद्यार्थी ब्लाइंड बॉयज स्कूल से थे। रैली में शामिल इन कारों में रोल्स राॅयल, बेंटले, कैडिलाक, शेवरोलेट, आस्टिन और मोटर बाइक में चर्चित हार्ले डेविडसन, यामाहा, नार्टन के माॅडल भी थें। मेजर जनरल राजेश कुमार कुंद्रा वीएस ने फ्लेग ऑफ कर इसकी शुरुआत की थी। वहां एक मोटर बाइक ऐसी भी थी जिसने सभी का ध्यान आकर्षित किया।

पेट्रोल से चलने वाली डबल सिलेंडर १९२२ माॅडल की हार्ले डेविडसन व्यापारी राजेश गुप्ता की थी । गुप्ता परिवार चार पीढ़ियों से विरासत के रूप में इसका मेंटेनेंस कर रही है।

इस रैली में विलीज़ जीप भी मौजूद थी, जो अब भी बिल्कुल नई कार जैसी दिखती है। कार के मालिक आंनद परचोरे ने बताया कि उन्हें विंटेज कार का शौंक है और यह वीलीज़ जीप १९५७ का माॅडल है। यह एक ऐतिहासिक कार है, जो द्वितीय विश्व युद्ध में चली थी। इसलिए बेहद खास है। रैली में एक कार ऐसी भी नजर आई जिस पर देश का तिरंगा लहरा रहा था। यह जीप जगतार सिंह की विलीक्स के १९४६ के माॅडल की थी। इसमें ९५ प्रतिशत पार्टस ओरीजनल थे। इस जीप में हर धर्म समुदाय का एक-एक व्यक्ति बैठा था, जो एकता का संदेश दे रहा था।

भ्रष्टाचार के मामले में महाराष्ट्र में नागपुर दूसरे स्थान पर, पुणे सबसे आगे

एंटी करप्शन ब्यूरो द्वारा साल 2018 में दर्ज किए गए मामलों में पुणे में सबसे ज्यादा 179 ट्रैप लगाए गए जबकि नागपुर में इसकी संख्या 119 और औरंगाबाद में 107 रही।

एसीबी के रिकार्ड के अनुसार राज्य के सरकारी महकमों में भ्रष्टाचार के मामलों में बढ़ोतरी हुई है। वर्ष 2017 की तुलना में 2018 के दौरान भ्रष्टाचार निरोधक ब्यूरो (एसीबी) के द्वारा की गई कार्रवाई में 2 फीसदी की वृद्धि दर्ज की गई है। जबकि नागपुर परिक्षेत्र में 19 फीसदी की बढ़ोतरी हुई है। विभाग ने कुल 824 ट्रैप लगाकर 1093 आरोपियों को पकड़ने में सफलता पाई। 2017 में यह आकड़ा 807 ट्रैप व 1063 आरोपियों का था।

नागपुर जिले में भ्रष्टाचार शिकायतें मिलने के बाद एसीबी द्वारा लगाए जाने वाले ट्रैप की संख्या में कमी आई है जबकि नागपुर परिक्षेत्र में 19 फीसदी की बढ़ोतरी हुई है। एसीबी से मिली जानकारी के अनुसार 2018 में नागपुर जिले में रिश्वत मांगने की शिकायत पर आरोपियों को पकड़ने के लिए 1 जनवरी 2018 से 6 दिसंबर 2018 तक 20 ट्रैप लगाए गए जबकि 2017 में 31 ट्रैप लगाए गए थे।

रिश्वत के मामले में राजस्व व पुलिस विभाग सबसे आगे हैं। 2018 के आकड़ों के अनुसार घूसखोरी की शिकायत के मामले में राजस्व विभाग पहले और पुलिस महकमा दूसरे क्रमांक पर है। 2018 में राजस्व विभाग के अधिकारियों-कर्मचारियों के खिलाफ रिश्वत मांगने के 201 मामले दर्ज किए गए। जबकि पुलिस विभाग के खिलाफ 179 शिकायतें मिली। इस मामले में पंचायत समिति 87 मामलों की साथ तीसरे क्रमांक पर है। सालभर में एसीबी के ट्रैप में 1 करोड़ 67 लाख 71 हजार 228 रुपए बरामद किए गए।

नागपुर : ताडोबा वन क्षेत्रात एका शेतात ३ वर्ष वयाचा वाघ मृतावस्थेत आढळल्याने एकच खळबळ उडाली आहे. ताडोबा व्याघ्र प्रकल्पाचे प्रवेशद्वार असलेल्या मोहर्ली गावापासून जवळच भामडेळी येथील शेताच्या कुंपणाला सोडलेल्या विजप्रवाहाच्या धक्क्यामुळे वाघाचा मृत्यू झाला असल्याची माहिती आहे. या प्रकरनात ऋषी ननावरे या शेतकऱ्याला वनवीभागाने ताब्यात घेतले असून पुढिल तपास सुरु आहे.

माहिती नुसार ताडोबाच्या बफर क्षेत्रात मागील दोन महिन्यांपासून फिरत असलेल्या वाघाचा शनिवारी भामडेळी येथे आढळल्याने वनविभागाचे धाबे दणाणले आहेत. जंगलालगत असलेल्या शेतातील पीकाचे वन्यजीवांपासून संरक्षण करण्यासाठी शेतकऱ्याने कुंपणाच्या तारेला विजेचा प्रवाह सोडला होता. शनिवारी सकाळी ६ वाजताण्याच्या सुमारास वाघ या तारांच्या संपार्कात येऊन त्याचा जागीच मृत्यू झाला. भीतीपोटी शेतकऱ्याने माहिती लपवण्याचा प्रयत्न केला, मात्र सायंकाळी ही माहिती वनविभागाला मिळाल्यानंतर तत्काळ वनअधिकारी घटनास्थळी पोचले. वनविभागाने मृत वाघाला ताब्यात घेतले असून त्याचे मोहर्ली येथील रोपवाटिकेत शवविच्छेदन करण्यात आलं.

महत्वाचे म्हणजे या वाघाला कॉलर आयडी लागलेली होती. त्यामुळं त्याचं प्रत्येक लोकेशन वनविभागाला माहिती होतं. असं असतानाही सुरक्षा यंत्रणा काय करीत होती, हा बेताचा प्रश्नच निर्माण झाला आहे. माहिती असो मागील महिन्यात रेल्वेच्या धडकेने वाघाचे तीन बछडे ठार झाले होते. त्यानंतर पुन्हा वाघाचा मृत्यू झाल्याने राज्यातील वाघांच्या सुरक्षेचा मुद्दा पुन्हा एकदा ऐरणीवर आला आहे.

‘ब्रह्मनाद’ में नासिर खान ने छेड़ी सितार पर तान

नागपुर: दक्षिण मध्य क्षेत्र सांस्कृतिक केन्द्र की ओर से परिसर सभागृह में रविवार को आयोजित ‘ब्रह्मनाद’ में सितार वादक नासिर खान एवं मुंबई के विख्यात शास्त्रीय गायक आदित्य खांडवे की प्रस्तुतियां लोगों को मुग्ध कर दिया।

कार्यक्रम का उद्घाटन डॉ. चंद्रहास जोशी, दीपाली खिरवडकर, मृदुला सुदामे, केंद्र के निदेशक डॉ. दीपक खिरवडकर एवं उप-निदेशक मोहन पारखी ने किया। नासिर खान ने सितार वादन से कार्यक्रम की शुरुवात की। उन्होंने ‘राग-ललित’ से शुरू कर जोड़, आलाप झाला के बाद त्रिताल मध्यलय में बंदिशें पेश कीं। नासिर ने ‘मिश्र धुन’ से अपनी प्रस्तुति का समापन कर श्रोताओं को मंत्रमुग्ध कर दिया। उन्हें तबले पर हर्षल ठाणेकर ने संगत की।

केन्द्र निदेशक डॉ. खिरवडकर ने ‘ए’ टॉप ग्रेड मिलने पर नासिर खान को सम्मानित किया एवं संक्षिप्त में अपने विचार रखे। इसके बाद आदित्य खांडवे ने नादपूर्ण शास्त्रीय/उप-शास्त्रीय गायन की प्रस्तुति से रसिकों का दिल जीता। उन्होंने अपनी प्रस्तुति की शुरूवात राग ‘मियां की तोड़ी’ में विलंबित त्रिताल में ‘मोरे मन गा…’ इस पारंपारिक बंदिश से की। पश्चात राग ‘अल्हैया बिलावल’ में द्रुत त्रिताल में ‘बंदिश’ प्रस्तुत की। आदित्य ने अपनी प्रस्तुति का समापन श्रोताओं को ‘अल्हैया बिलावल’ में ‘तराना’ सुनाकर किया। उन्हें तबले पर संदेश पोपटकर, संवादिनि पर श्रीकांत पिसे एवं तानपुरे पर प्रियंका मस्के ने संगत की।

मंगळावर वाऱ्याची झुळूक; नासाच्या यानाने नोंदविला पहिल्यांदा आवाज

केप कॅनरव्हल (अमेरिका) : मंगळ ग्रहावरील जीवसृष्टीच्या अस्तित्वाचे रहस्य अजून तरी रहस्यच आहे. हे रहस्य जाणून घेण्यासाठी नुकतेच लॅडिंग केलेल्या अमेरिकेच्या अंतराळ संशोधन संस्थेच्या (नासा) इनसाईट यानाने पहिल्यांदाच मंगळवरील वाहत्या वाऱ्याचा आवाज नोंदविला आहे.

‘नासा’चे एक शास्त्रज्ञ सिल्वानो पी. कोलंबानो यांनी एलियन्स म्हणजेच परग्रहवासी पृथ्वीवर येऊन गेल्याचा दावा केला आहे. आता मंगळावरील आवाजाची ऑडियो क्लीप नासाकडून प्रसिद्ध करण्यात आली आहे.

ज्या वाऱ्याचा आवाज बंदिस्त झाला आहे त्याची तीव्रता कमी आहे. मात्र, यावरून मंगळावर वाहत्या वाऱ्याचे अस्तित्व असल्याचे सिद्ध होत आहे.

मंगळावरील वाऱ्याचा आवाज यानामधील एअर प्रेशर सेन्सर आणि सिसोमीटरमध्ये नोंद झाला आहे. ताशी १६ ते २४ किलोमीटर वेगाने वारे वाहत असल्याची नोंद यात झाली आहे. वाऱ्यामुळे संपूर्ण यान हालत असल्याचे दिसून आले आहे. जो आवाज नोंद झाला आहे; तो परग्रहावरीलच असल्याचे इनसाईट यान मोहिमेतील शास्त्रज्ञांनी म्हटले आहे.

याबाबत बोलताना इम्पेरियल कॉलेज ऑफ लंडनचे थॉमस पाईक यांनी म्हटले आहे की आम्ही पृथ्वीवर ज्याचा अनुभव घेतला आहे त्यापेक्षा वेगळे काहीतरी ऐकल्याचा अनुभव मिळाला आहे.

मंगळ ग्रहावरील पृष्ठभागावर नासाचे इनसाईट यान २७ नोव्हेंबर रोजी यशस्वीरित्या उतरलं होतं. मंगळ ग्रह कसा तयार झाला, तेथील वातावरण याचे रहस्य हे यान जाणून घेणार आहे. मंगळावरील पृष्ठभागावर उतराताच या यानाने तेथील पहिले छायाचित्रही पाठविले होते. आता तेथील वाऱ्याचा आवाज नोंदविला आहे.

हे यान यावर्षी ५ मे रोजी कॅलिफोर्निया येथील वंडेनबर्ग एअरफोर्स स्टेशनवरील एटलस वी रॉकेटच्या माध्यमातून प्रक्षेपित करण्यात आले होते.

Charged with sexual harassment, Nagpur’s ACB SP Patil transferred to Mumbai

Nagpur: Nagpur unit Anti Corruption Bureau ACB SP Pradyumna Patil whom a lady constable accused of trying to lure her into giving sexual pleasure, has been transferred to the ACB headquarters in Mumbai.

The policewoman had also charged Patil with serious allegations of irregularities in the department. Chandrapur ACB SP Shrikant Dhiware has been assigned the additional charge in Patil’s place. Dhiware assumed the charge on Friday evening.

The lady in question had alleged that Patil has been trying to lure her with goodies and properties in return for sexual pleasure. She had on December 4 lodged police complaint against Patil and case was registered for molestation, threatening and defaming.

As Patil sensed the situation he had applied for anticipatory bail on Thursday. His interim bail was accpeted on Friday. However before the court’s decision Patil was already transferred to Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Sadar police have started the investigation and trying to delve deeper into the allegations.

Justin Langer thrashed Virat Kohli for his aggressive celebration

Australian coach Justin Langer recently criticized Virat Kohli for his aggressive celebration in the ongoing Test match between Australia and India. Langer said, if his players were to celebrate wickets like Indian captain Virat Kohli does, they would be seen as “the worst blokes in the world”.

Langer also took a dig at Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar’s comment on the current Australian team. Sachin tweeted, “Team India should make the most of this situation and not lose their grip. The defensive mindset by the Australian batsmen at home is something I’ve not seen before in my experience”.

The comment did not go well with coach Langer, who attacked Sachin by saying, “Guys that had great Test match experience and they knew their game, were comfortable in their own skin and they knew what to expect. “Whereas we’ve got a team at the moment who are very inexperienced in Test match cricket, particularly our batting side.”

India and Australia are currently playing a four-match Test series. The first Test is being played at Adelaide that started from December 6.

Kedarnath is a love story that is set against the 2013 devastating floods that almost destroyed the shrine-town. There has been much hype around the film as it is Sara’s debut, and the starlet has quite an astounding fan-following, even before her debut film had released. Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, the film hit the screens on December 7.

The film has been receiving rather mixed reviews. While Sara and Sushant have been praised for their acting prowess, it has been criticised for being rather slow and unconvincing.

Kedarnath has been embroiled in controversy, ever since the trailer of the film had hit the web. Priests from the shrine-town were wildly protesting against the film, saying that it is a case of “love-jihad”, as the two lead characters are Hindu and Muslim, who fall in love. They said that the film showed “vulgar dances” and kissing sequences near the holy temple.

नागपूर : अतिक्रमण, सांडपाणी, अस्वच्छता या समस्यांवर तातडीने उपाययोजना करा. मुलभूत सोयी-सुविधा हा नागरिकांचा अधिकार आहे. त्यामुळे नागरिकांच्या प्रत्येक तक्रारींची दखल घेऊन त्याचे तात्काळ निरसन करा, असे निर्देश देत स्वच्छतेच्या बाबतीत कुठलाही हलगर्जीपणा चालणार नाही असा इशारा महापौर नंदा जिचकार यांनी अधिकाऱ्यांना दिला.

नागपूर जिल्ह्याचे पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे यांच्या झोननिहाय जनसंवाद कार्यक्रमाच्या पार्श्वभूमीवर ‘महापौर आपल्या दारी’ उपक्रमाचे नियोजन करण्यात आले आहे. याअंतर्गत महापौर नंदा जिचकार नागपूर महानगरपालिका क्षेत्रातील झोननिहाय, प्रभागनिहाय समस्या ऐकून घेणार आहेत. या उपक्रमांतर्गत बुधवारी (ता. ५) महापौरांनी आसीनगर झोनमधील प्रभाग २ व ३ चा आढावा घेतला. यावेळी आरोग्य समिती सभापती मनोज चापले, जलप्रदाय समिती विजय झलके, ज्येष्ठ नगरसेवक सुनील अग्रवाल, नगरसेवक मनोज सांगोळे, दिनेश यादव, परसराम मानवटकर, गोपीचंद कुमरे, नगरसेविका नेहा निकोसे, नसीम बानो इब्राहीम खान, सहायक आयुक्त विजय हुमने, आसी नगर झोनचे सहायक आयुक्त गणेश राठोड, आरोग्य अधिकारी (स्वच्छता) डॉ. सुनील कांबळे, यांच्यासह ओसीडब्ल्यूचे कर्मचारी व संबंधित विभागाचे अधिकारी प्रामुख्याने उपस्थित होते.

झोनमधील सर्व भागामध्ये टँकरनेच पाणी पुरवठा होत असल्याची तक्रार यावेळी नागरिकांनी केली. सुगत नगर परिसरात बुद्ध विहाराच्या बाजुला असलेली विहीर कोरडी असून त्या विहीरीमध्ये नागरिक कचरा टाकून तो जाळत असल्याचे दौऱ्यामध्ये निदर्शनास आले. या विहिरीची स्वच्छता करून येथे कचरा टाकणाऱ्यांवर कारवाई करण्याचे निर्देश महापौर नंदा जिचकार यांनी यावेळी दिले. बाबा दीपसिंग नगरातील काच कंपनी जवळील गुरूद्वारापुढील ५०० मीटर लांबीच्या कच्च्या मार्गामुळे नागरिकांना चांगलाच मन:स्ताप सहन करावा लागतो. याशिवाय परिसरात कनक रिसोर्सेच्या कचरा उचलणा-या गाड्या येत नसल्याचीही तक्रार नागरिकांकडून करण्यात आली. परिसरातील रस्त्याच्या कामाबाबत त्वरीत कारवाई करून स्वच्छतेच्या बाबतीत कामचुकारपणा करणाऱ्या कनक रिसोर्सेसवर कारवाई करण्यात यावी, असेही महापौर नंदा जिचकार यांनी यावेळी निर्देशित केले.

नारी वस्ती लगत वाहणाऱ्या पिवळी नदीमुळे पावसाळ्यात नागरिकांचे मोठे नुकसान होते. नदीच्या तिरावर वस्तीलगत सुरक्षा भिंत नसल्यामुळे पावसाळ्यात वस्तीमध्ये पाणी शिरते. यामध्ये नागरिकांच्या घरातील सामान, जनावरे वाहून जाण्यासह जीवितहानीही झाल्याची तक्रार नागरिकांनी यावेळी केली. नदीच्या काठावर सुरक्षा भिंतीबाबत तात्काळ प्रस्ताव सादर करून पावसाळ्यापूर्वी सुरक्षा भिंत तयार करण्याबाबत कारवाई करणे, तसेच परिसरात जनावरांच्या सुरक्षेसाठी पशु दवाखान्याच्या मागणीवर कार्यवाही करण्याचेही निर्देश महापौरांनी दिले. नारी वस्ती परिसरातील दहन घाटावर मनपाच्या पुढाकारातून शोक सभागृह निर्माण करण्यात आले आहे. या ठिकाणी भगवान शिव शंकराच्या मूर्तीची प्रतिष्ठापना करण्याची मागणी नागरिकांच्यावतीने करण्यात आली.

न्यू दीक्षित नगर परिसरात असलेल्या एका अपार्टमेंटमधील सांडपाणी थेट रस्त्यावर येत असून तेथून ये-जा करणाऱ्या नागरिकांना त्रास सहन करावा लागतो. या मार्गाचे सिमेंटीकरण करून सांडपाणी रस्त्यावर येऊ नये यासाठी प्रतिबंध घालण्याचे निर्देश महापौर नंदा जिचकार यांनी दिले. दीक्षित नगरमधील उद्यानांचा विकास करून या ठिकाणी ग्रीन जिमची उपकरणे लावण्याचीही मागणी यावेळी महापौरांना करण्यात आली.

गरीब नवाज नगरमध्ये नाल्याच्या बाजुला महानगरपालिकेचा दवाखाना आहे. या परिसरात घाण असल्याने येथील नागरिकांना त्याचा फायदा होत नाही. हा दवाखाना गरीब नवाज नगरमधील मैदानात असलेल्या सभागृहात स्थानांतरीत करण्याचे महापौर नंदा जिचकार यांनी निर्देशित केले.

आसी नगर झोनमध्ये पालकमंत्र्यांचा ‘जनसंवाद’ १० ला

नागपूर महानगरपालिका क्षेत्रातील झोननिहाय, प्रभागनिहाय समस्या ऐकून घेण्यासाठी, महत्त्वाच्या समस्यांवर, प्रश्नांवर तात्काळ निर्णय घेण्यासाठी पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे हे ३ डिसेंबर ते ११ फेब्रुवारीदरम्यान प्रत्येक सोमवारी झोननिहाय ‘जनसंवाद’ करणार आहेत. या अंतर्गत १० डिसेंबरला आसी नगर झोनमध्ये पालकमंत्र्यांचा ‘जनसंवाद’ होणार आहे. यावेळी नागरिकांनी सहभागी होऊन आपल्या समस्या मांडण्याचे आवाहन यावेळी महापौर नंदा जिचकार यांनी केले.

अमिताभ बच्चन यांचे अखेर चाहत्यांना दर्शन

नागपूर : हिंदी चित्रपटाच्या चित्रीकरणासाठी नागपुरात आलेल्या अमिताभ बच्चन यांचे अखेर शुक्रवारी चाहत्यांना दर्शन झाले. चित्रीकरणाच्या स्थळावर किंवा हॉटेलमधून येताना-जाताना बच्चन दिसले नव्हते. मात्र शुक्रवारी चित्रीकरणस्थळी जात असताना प्रवेशद्वारावर गाडीत बसलेल्या अमिताभ बच्चन यांची एक ‘झलक’ दिसताच चाहते आनंदित झाले.

‘सैराट’ फेम नागराज मंजुळे यांच्या पहिला वहिला हिंदी चित्रपट ‘झुंड’ येत्या काळात प्रेक्षकांच्या भेटीस येणार आहे. या चित्रपटात अमिताभ बच्चन मुख्य भूमिकेत असून या चित्रपटाचे चित्रीकरण ते सध्या नागपूरमध्ये करत आहेत. या चित्रपटाच्या चित्रीकरणासाठी मागील पाच दिवसांपासून बच्चन नागपुरात आहेत.

अमिताभ बच्चन यांचे अखेर चाहत्यांना दर्शन

दररोज चित्रीकरणाच्या स्थळी त्यांना पाहण्यासाठी गर्दी होत आहे. मात्र कडेकोट सुरक्षा व्यवस्थेमुळे तेथे पोहोचणे शक्य होत नसल्याने चाहत्यांचा भ्रमनिरास झाला. शुक्रवारी सकाळी चित्रीकरणाच्या स्थळी पोहोचलेल्या कारच्या काफिल्यांमध्ये एमएच-१२, एनडब्लू ६५६५ या गाडीत बच्चन बसले होते. त्यांना पाहताच चाहत्यांच्या आनंदाला पारावार उरला नाही.

मोहननगर परिसरातील शाळेत ‘सेट’ बनविण्यात आला आहे. मात्र सुरक्षेमुळे संबंधित शाळेतील विद्यार्थ्यांनादेखील ‘बिग बी’ यांना पाहता आले नव्हते. शुक्रवारी मात्र दिग्दर्शकांनी पुढाकार घेतला व शाळेच्या काही विद्यार्थ्यांना अमिताभ यांना भेटता आले. त्यांनी यावेळी मुलांशी हातदेखील मिळविला.

अमिताभ बच्चन यांनी मानले नागपूरकरांचे आभार

अमिताभ बच्चन यांनी नुकतेच ट्वीट करून नागपूरकरांचे आभार मानले आहेत. नागपूरकरांनी मला दिलेल्या प्रेमासाठी मी त्यांचा कायम ऋणी आहे या शब्दांत त्यांनी ट्वीट करत नागपूरकरांवरचे आपले प्रेम दाखवून दिले आहे. त्यांनी या फोटोसोबत नागपूरमधील हॉटेलमध्ये, लॉबीमध्ये त्यांची एक झलक पाहाण्यासाठी गर्दी केलेल्या लोकांचा फोटो देखील ट्वीट केला आहे.

नागपूर विद्यापीठाच्या ५८ महाविद्यालयांची संलग्नता रद्द

नागपूर : राष्ट्रसंत तुकडोजी महाराज नागपूर विद्यापीठाच्या ५८ महाविद्यालयांची संलग्नता रद्द करण्यात आली आहे. त्यामुळे शेकडो विद्यार्थ्यांचं भवितव्य धोक्यात आलंय. विद्यापीठाने महाविद्यालयांची यादी जाहीर करून त्यांच्याशी विद्यापीठाचा कुठलाही संबंध नाही, असे जाहीर केले आहे.

जून महिन्यात नागपूर विद्यापीठाने या २५६ महाविद्यालयांतील प्रथम वर्ष प्रवेशावर बंदी लावली होती. यातील 98 महाविद्यालयांची संलग्नताच रद्द करण्याचा प्रस्ताव होता. यातील अनेक महाविद्यालयांनी मागील सात ते आठ वर्षांपासून संलग्नीकरणाच्या नूतनीकरणासाठी अर्जच केला नव्हता.

विद्वत परिषदेत निर्णय
यासंदर्भात महाविद्यालयांना पत्रदेखील पाठविण्यात आले होते. यानंतर ११ महाविद्यालयांनी संलग्नीकरण नूतनीकरणासाठी अर्ज केला. मात्र, ५८ महाविद्यालयांनी संपर्कच साधला नाही या महाविद्यालयांना पुन्हा नोटीस पाठविण्यात आली होती.

महाविद्यालयांची संलग्नता रद्द करण्यासंदर्भात अधिष्ठाता मंडळाने निर्णय घेतला होता.

त्यानंतर याबाबतचा प्रस्ताव विद्वत परिषदेला पाठविण्यात आला होता. त्यानुसार नुकत्याच झालेल्या विद्वत परिषदेच्या बैठकीमध्ये यासंदर्भात निर्णय घेण्यात आला.

कोविड रुग्णालयांना दिलासा; दोन लाखांवरील बिलं रोखीने घेण्यास मूभा

नागपुर : आये दिन हमें अस्पताल में मृत व्यक्ति को वेंटिलेटर के सहारे कुछ दिनों तक जिंदा बताकर मरीज के परिवार से लाखों रुपए वसूलने की शिकायतें अक्सर सुनने मिलती हैं। इतनाही नहीं इस तरह की शिकायतें प्रशासन के पास भी पहुंचती हैं। जिससे अब जिला प्रशासन वेंटिलेटर के सहारे मृतक को जिंदा बताने वाले अस्पतालों पर नजर रखेगा।

ऐसा होने का संदेह या आपत्ति होने पर ऐसे अस्पतालों की शिकायत भी जिला प्रशासन के पास की जा सकती है। जिला प्रशासन चैरिटी के नाम पर मरीजों से मोटी रकम वसूलने वाले चैरिटेबल अस्पतालों पर भी शिकंजा कसने की तैयारी कर रहा है। वेंटिलेटर के नाम पर लाखों रुपए वसूलने की शिकायतें जिला प्रशासन के पास पहुंच रही है। सर्जरी में इस्तेमाल हुई चीजें फिर से उपयोग करने की भी शिकायतें मिली हैं। जिला उपभोक्ता संरक्षण परिषद ने ऐसे मामलों पर नजर रखने व शिकायत मिलने पर दोषी पर कार्रवाई करने का फैसला किया है।

जानकारी यही है कि वेंटिलेटर पर रखे ९५% तक लोगों की कुछ दिनों बाद मौत हो जाती है। कुछ रोगियों की तो २५ से ३० दिन बाद ही मौत हो जाती है। पहले ही सदमें में रहने वाले परिवार को अस्पताल की मोटी फीस का बोझ उठाना पड़ता है। यह मामला मेडिकल प्रैक्टिस से जुड़ा होने से आम आदमी को इसकी बारीकियां पता नहीं रहतीं जिसकी वजह से पीड़ित परिवार के पास मातम करने के अलावा कुछ नहीं रहता |

ऐसे फर्जी मामलों को रोकने के लिए जिला उपभोक्ता संरक्षण परिषद पुख्ता कदम उठाएगा। वेंटीलेटर से संबंधी शिकायत जिला प्रशासन के पास आने पर संबंधित अस्पताल पर कड़ी नजर रखी जाएगी।

YWCA Conducts Menstrual Hygiene Programme

Nagpur : Recently, a session on ‘Menstrual Hygiene’ was held at Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) by Director of Maher Maternity and Nursing Home, Dr. Vaidehi Marathe. She said, “Women spend around six to seven years of their lives menstruating. Yet the importance of menstrual hygiene is mostly neglected. Menstrual hygiene is a taboo subject; a topic that many women are uncomfortable discussing in public”. The Programme was successfully co-ordinated by General Secretary, Aparna Campbell, and Nancy David, Programme Committee chairperson.

बनावट पोलीस बनून वृद्धांना लुटणारी टोळी नागपूरात सक्रिय

नागपूर : शहरात तोतया पोलिसांनी हैदोस घातला आहे. हे बनावटी पोलीस ज्येष्ठ नागरिकांना लुटत आहेत. त्यांनी अवघ्या दीड तासात ४ वृद्धांना लुटले. त्यामुळे शहरातील ज्येष्ठ नागरिकांमध्ये दहशतीचे वातावरण पसरले आहे.

शहरातील बेलतारोडी, प्रतापनगर आणि अजनी या ३ पोलीस चौकींमध्ये या बद्दलच्या तक्रारी नोंदवण्यात आल्या आहे. हे बनावटी पोलीस ज्येष्ठ नागरिकांकडून रोख आणि दागिने लुटत आहेत. यामुळे शहरात भीतीचे वातावरण पसरले आहे. मधुकर काळे (६७ वर्षीय), गिरीधर पराते (६१ वर्षीय), संजय गुंडावार (६५ वर्षीय), पुरुषोत्तम मून (६८ वर्षीय) या वृद्धांना या टोळीकडून लुटण्यात आले आहे.

या भामट्यांकडे बनावट ओळखपत्र असल्याचे पीडितांकडून सांगण्यात आले. पोलीस या टोळीचा तपास करत आहेत. परंतु, आतापर्यंत तरी त्यांच्याबद्दल पोलिसांना माहिती मिळू शकलेली नाही.

Khasdar Mahotsav : “Tathagat” gives gripping account of Gautam Budhha’s life

Nagpur: With a social message of spreading peace and harmony in the world, Film Television and Theatre Society’s cast of almost 170 people staged a grand play ‘Tathagat’ based on the life of Gautam Buddha in the ongoing Khasdar Sanskrutik Mahotsav at Ishwar Deshmukh College of Physical Education on Friday.

This was the third event of the 14-day cultural festival which will conclude on December 18.

The play, written by Kiran Bagde and directed jointly by Suresh Meshram and Manoj Sahare, is an adaptation of the book ‘Buddha and his Dhamma’, penned by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.

Talking about the message given through the megaplay, writer Kiran Bagde said, “Ambedkar’s philosophy is based on non-violence and principles of Buddhism that talk of peace. In his book, he says that world needs peace and peacemakers which are foundation stones of Buddhism.”

Union Minister for Road Transport, Shipping and Water Resources Nitin Gadkari along with other members were present to enjoy beautiful play.

Jammu & Kashmir: 23 dead, 7 injured as Bus Falls Into Gorge in Poonch

Srinagar: Twenty-three people on Saturday died after a bus fell in a gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pooch. Further, seven people were reported to be injured in the accident. All those injured have been rushed to a hospital nearby.

As of now, rescue and search operations are underway. According to a report, the bus which was going to Loran skidded off and fell into a gorge in Plera.

The registration number of the passenger bus is JK02W0445, the report said. It is a developing story and more details are awaited.

In an earlier incident on October 6, 21 persons were killed and 15 injured when an overcrowded mini-bus fell into a 200-ft-deep gorge after its driver lost control over the vehicle on Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Ramban district, officials said.

Among the dead were four women and the driver. Ten critically injured passengers were airlifted from the accident site to Army hospital at Udhampur and two others to Jammu, they said.

The vehicle was on its way to Ramban town from Banihal when the accident occurred at around 9.55 AM. The driver lost control over the overcrowded vehicle which rolled down the deep gorge at Kela Morh near Maroof, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban range, Rafiq-ul-Hassan.

गोवर रूबेला लसीकरण मोहिम यशस्वी करण्यासाठी शिक्षकांची भूमिका महत्त्वाची

नागपूर : गोवर रूबेला लसीकरण मोहिमेला २७ नोव्हेंबर पासून सुरूवात झाली आहे. ही लसीकरण मोहिम यशस्वी करण्यासाठी महापालिकेतील शिक्षकांची भूमिका मह्त्त्वाची आहे, असे प्रतिपादन डब्लूएचओचे प्रतिनिधी डॉ.मोहम्मद साजिद यांनी व्यक्त केले.

शुक्रवारी (ता.७) मनपा मुख्यालयातील डॉ.पंजाबराव देशमुख सभागृहात महापालिकेतील शाळांमधील शिक्षकांचे प्रशिक्षण वर्ग आयोजित करण्यात आले होते. यावेळी शिक्षणाधिकारी संध्या मेडपल्लीवार, वैद्यकीय अधिकारी डॉ.विजय जोशी, डॉ.नरेंद्र बहिरवार, नोडल अधिकारी डॉ.भावना सोनकुसळे, कार्यक्रमाच्या समन्वयक डॉ.सोनाली डहाके यांच्यासह आरोग्य विभागाचे अधिकारी व कर्मचारी उपस्थित होते.

यावेळी डॉ. साजिद म्हणाले, गोवर रूबेला ही लसीकरण मोहिम पूर्णपणे यशस्वी करणे गरजेचे आहे. नागपुरात ही लसीकरण मोहीम २७ नोव्हेंबर पासून सुरू झाली आहे. आतापर्यंत १ लाख ५५ हजार मुलामुलींना ही लस देण्यात आली आहे. यामध्ये मुख्यत्वे सर्व शासकीय व खासगी शाळा, बालकाश्रम, अनाथाश्रम, मदरसे, बालसुधारगृह, केंद्रीय विद्यालये यामध्ये ही लस देण्यात आली आहे. यापूर्वीही ही लस खासगी व सरकारी दवाखान्यांमार्फत देण्यात येत असे. परंतु त्यात असे दिसून आले की, अनेक बालके या लसीपासून वंचित राहत असत. त्यामुळे एकही बालक यापासून वंचित राहू नये याकरिता ही लसीकरण मोहीम शासनाने हाती घेतली आहे. गोवर रूबेला सारख्या आजाराचे समुळ नष्ट करण्यासाठी ही लसीकरण मोहीम यशस्वीपणे राबविणे आवश्यक आहे, असे डॉ.साजिद यांनी प्रतिपादित केले.

राज्यात सर्वत्र ही लसीकरण मोहीम २७ नोव्हेंबरपासून सुरू करण्यात आली. ९ महिन्याचे बाळ ते १५ वर्षाखालील मुला मुलींना ही लस देणे अनिवार्य आहे. यावेळी महापालिकेतील उर्दू शाळेतील शिक्षिका व समाजकल्याण विभागातील महिला कर्मचारी व अधिकारी प्रामुख्याने उपस्थित होते.
