नागपूर : प्रेमात अडसर ठरत असलेल्या पतीचा प्रियकराच्या मदतीने पत्नीने दगडाने ठेचून खून केला. खून केल्यानंतर अपघात झाल्याचा देखावा निर्माण करीत पोलिसांची दिशाभूल केल्याचा आरोप मृताच्या नातेवाइकांनी केला आहे. या प्रकरणी तूर्तास पाचपावली पोलिसांनी केवळ आकस्मिक मृत्यूची नोंद केली.

पंकज चंद्रकांत अंभोरे (वय 34, रा. व्यंकटेश्‍वरनगर) असे मृत पावलेल्या युवकाचे नाव आहे. पंकजचे मामा अविनाश जाधव यांनी दिलेल्या माहितीनुसार, पंकज अंभोरे हे एका खासगी कंपनीत क्‍वॉलिटी सुपरवायझर होते. त्यांची काही वर्षांपूर्वी मनीषा (बदललेले नाव) हिच्यासोबत ओळख झाली होती. मनीषाच्या पहिल्या पतीने आत्महत्या केली होती. तर, गुजरातमधील एका व्यापाऱ्याशी दुसरे लग्न केले होते. त्यानंतर पंकज आणि मनीषाचे प्रेमसंबंध निर्माण झाले. मनीषाला तिसरे लग्न धूमधडाक्‍यात करायचे होते. परंतु, पंकजच्या नातेवाइकांनी लग्नास नकार दिला. त्यामुळे त्यांनी गुपचूप लग्न करून एका भव्य इमारतीमध्ये लाखोंचा फ्लॅट विकत घेऊन संसार थाटला. यादरम्यान मनीषाची मैत्री अरुण नावाच्या विवाहित युवकासोबत झाली. दारू पिण्याच्या सवयीची असलेल्या मनीषाची अरुणसोबतची मैत्री दिवसेंदिवस वाढली. मनीषा आणि अरुण यांच्या मैत्रीत पंकज अडसर ठरत होता. त्यामुळे दोघांनीही पंकजचा काटा काढण्याचा निर्णय घेतला. कट रचून दगडाने ठेचून खून केला.

10-yr-old kids who identify themselves as gay more likely to be suffering from depression

Nagpur: School going children as young as 10-year-olds, who identify themselves as gays or lesbians, constantly suffer from depression and report more self-harm than their heterosexuals counterparts, according a study published in The Lancet Child and Adolescent Health. The study revealed that this cycle of depression continues throughout their school years and into early adulthood, and such kids are more likely to cause self harm once they turn teenagers.

Dr Gemma Lewis from University College London UK, who led the research, said, “It is very concerning that despite changes in public perceptions and attitudes, sexual minority youth remain at increased risk of long-term mental health problems. It is imperative that we find new ways to reach these adolescents and that they are able to access high-quality support services from a young age.” The findings suggest that sexual minority youth are four times more likely to report recent self-harm between 16 and 21 years of age than their heterosexual peers, and are at higher risk of depressive symptoms from as young as 10 years old.

In this study, researchers analysed data on 4,843 adolescents born between April 1991 and December 1992 from the UK Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC) who reported their sexual orientation at 16 years of age. The authors note that the study is observational, so no firm conclusions can be drawn about cause and effect.

Sexologist Dr Sanjay Deshpande said no specific study has been conducted yet in India to corroborate the Lancet findings locally, but it may be happening at individual level. “In elder students, those who are in college, I have noticed that they speak out on these topics but younger students may be hesitant to come out,” said Dr Deshpande.

Pawar also added that this defeat is a testimony to the fact that people do not believe in communal forces and they want peace and progress. The saffron party was defeated in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh and appeared to fall short of the majority in Madhya Pradesh. This defeat comes as a major blow for the saffron party ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha elections and has boosted the prospects for the Opposition which is planning to erect a rainbow coalition of all the regional parties to counter the BJP in 2019.

Cops launch search for Kabir Infotech MD, three others in duping case

Nagpur : Sitabuldi Police have launched a search for four persons, including Prashik Bansod, Managing Director of Kabir Infotech, who defrauded hundreds of youths from across Vidarbha of crores of rupees by promising them jobs in different reputed companies.

Besides Bansod, other accused have been identified as Nishant Lakhate, a resident of Vrindavan Society, Prashant Borkar (36),a resident of Medical Chowk and Rajkumar Deoghare (38), a resident Dighori.

The accused had opened Kabir Infotech’s office at Imperial Plaza, Somwar Bazar Road, Sitabuldi. They collected Rs 50,000 each from young unemployed youths by promising them job in different software and other companies. The accused had provided jobs to some persons in their own company after imparting them ‘training’ at their office. After paying them salary of Rs 6,000 each for a couple of months, they stopped giving payment to them since June this year.

After collecting huge money, the accused quartet closed their company’s Nagpur office and vanished. The victims from Nagpur, Amravati, Wardha, Gondia, Gadchiroli, Chandrapur, and Bhandara personally met Atul Londhe, Spokesperson of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) seeking his assistance to get their money back. Londhe sent his representative to Resident Deputy Collector Ravindra Khajanchi with the victims to lodge a complaint against the Labour Inspector concerned who had shown on record that only 20-25 persons were working in Kabir Infotech.

The victims also informed Khajanchi that the Labour Inspector allegedly had not placed on record about non-payment of salaries by the company. After Khajanchi assured that he would conduct an inquiry into the matter within a week, the victims then met Senior Inspector Hemant Kumar Kharabe, In-charge of Sitabuldi Police Station, and lodged a complaint against the accused persons. On the basis of a complaint lodged by Lokesh Mistrilal Fularia (25), a resident of Plot No 80, Chandan Nagar, Sitabuldi Police registered an offence under Sections 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) and 120b(Criminal Conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code against Bansod, Lakhate, Borkar and Deoghare.

Senior Inspector Kharabe told about 320 youths were duped to the tune of Rs 80 lakh by the accused quartet so far as per complaints received by the police. More complaints are expected to be received from outstation victims. Cellphones of accused Bansod and others are switched off. “Police are putting in all efforts to trace the accused persons,” Kharabe added.

Khasdar Mahotsav : Play gives sneak peek into Vivekananda’s life

Nagpur: ‘Yugpurush Vivekananda’, a music and dance play, effectively highlighted his life and the making of his belief system that he is known for, was staged at Ishwar Deshmukh College of Physical Education, Hanuman Nagar, on Tuesday.

The play, staged by Ramkrishna Math, Pune, as part of the 14-day long Khasdar Sanskrutik Mahotsav, spread the philosophy of peace and harmony in society that the monk preached all through his life.

The play was staged to mark the 125th anniversary of the spiritual leader’s famous speech during the Parliament of World’s Religions held at Chicago, USA, in 1893. The play give sneak peek into the spiritual leader’s upbringing and his tryst with finding the ultimate truth.

The play covers all important parts of Vivekanand life in a beautiful way. About 900 artists from nagpur have been given opportunity to perform on the stage.

The Nakal Mein Hi Akal Hai tagline drama Cheat India is based on the educational system in India, which is, needless to say, is corrupt and easily manipulated. Emraan Hashmi plays the titular role in the film, of an education agent, who for a right price doesn’t mind bending the rules. The actor wrapped up the shooting of the film in September this year.

Earlier, while announcing the project, the 39-year-old had said that the film will take a startling look at the crimes in the Indian education system “which has created a parallel ecosystem infested with a mafia of sorts”. He had further said that he was excited to be essaying a character which he believes will be a landmark one in his “filmography”. Helmed by ‘Gulaab Gang’ director Soumik Sen, this is the second flick from Hashmi’s production house Emraan Hashmi Films.

Sajid Khan suspended from IFTDA for a year after getting accused of sexual harassment

Filmmaker Sajid Khan has been suspended for a year by Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA) after being accused of sexual harassment by a journalist, a female actor and an assistant director.

Bipasha Basu, Dia Mirza and Lara Dutta also came down heavily on the director. In a statement, IFTDA president Ashoke Pandit said, “The committee investigated the complaints in the spirit of POSH Act and in compliance of principles of sexual harassment, unwelcome sexually determined behaviour, unwarranted contact by poking and advances, demands for sexual favours and abuse of power by Sajid Khan.”

The statement continued, “Mr Sajid Khan was given an opportunity to put forth his defence. He did not give any explanation, response or defence to the allegations of sexual harassment, unwelcome sexually determined behaviour, poking at the girls and asking the girls to seduce or strip or to show cleavage and other sexual misconduct and thereby traumatised them mentally and emotionally. Mr Sajid Khan did not accept the sexual molestation of the complainants but admitted that his behaviour and language was impolite, he had been brash and used abusive language with his friends which included boys and girls. He admitted that he had sex relations with girls, but with their consent.” IFTDA issued a show-cause notice to Sajid Khan in November.

The notice read, “Your lewd and obscene actions have brought disrepute to Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association. We, therefore, want an explanation from you for such offensive behaviour within seven days of the receipt of the notice for further action as per the rules and regulations.”

NMC starts removing advertisements boards, posters from trees

Nagpur: The Dharampeth zone of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), in association with its garden department and volunteers of Green Vigil Foundation, on Tuesday launched a drive to remove illegal hoardings, advertisements boards, posters that are defacing trees and other public property. Commercial establishments putting up advertisements are also being fined.

However, the civic body faced resistance from citizens of some localities during the action.

It was a long-time demand of environmentalists to take action against the damage caused to trees due to advertisements.

Recently, Green Vigil Foundation wrote a letter to NMC garden department’s advisor Sudhir Matey requesting removal of advertisement boards from trees. The NMC removed e-cart load of flex boards and nails from the trees in the zone during its almost two-hour drive in various roads. The roads included Dharampeth zone office to Gokulpeth Fruits Market road, the one surrounding Children’s Traffic Park, Traffic Park to Dharampeth School Road, Shankar Nagar Square to Bajaj Nagar Square etc The civic body removed around 42 illegal hoardings on Day 1.

Matey told that the establishments putting up hoardings and posters on trees will be punished as per the Maharashtra Prevention of Defacement of Property Act, 1995, and Tree Preservation Act, 1975.

After these actions, an FIR will be registered against the violators. has been highlighting the issue since long. In the past too, similar action had been initiated but despite actions, advertisement boards and posters continue to be fixed on trees.

Kaustav Chatterje, Green Vigil Foundation’s founder and green activist, said trees are not meant to be defaced. “When nails are fixed on the bark of trees, it creates a pathway for fungal infection and slowly the tree dies,” said Chatterjee.

बिबट्या वाघाच्या हल्ल्यात बौध्द भिक्षु ठार : गावकऱ्यांमध्ये दहशत

नागपुर : चंद्रपुर जिल्ह्यातील चिमुर जवळील संघरामगिरी – रामदेगी येथे एका बौद्ध भिक्षुवर बिबट्या वाघाने हल्ला करुण ठार केले. माहिती नुसार तिन बौध्द भिक्षु दुपारी १२: ३० च्या दरम्यान रामदेगी येथे ध्यान साधनेला बसले होते. ध्यानात मग्न असतांनाच्या दरम्यान भंते राहुल बोधी यांच्यावर बिबट्या वाघाने अचानक हल्ला चढविला, त्या हल्ल्यात भंते राहूलबोधी यांचा मृत्यु झाला. या घडलेल्या घटनेच्या एका दिवसापुर्वी देखील सकाळी ६.३० च्या सुमारास रामदेगी येथे बिबट्याच्या हल्ल्यात राळेगाव येथील संजय तितरे यांना जीव गमावावा लागला होता.घटनेची माहिती मिळताच घटना स्थळावर गावकऱ्यांनी धाव घेतली. वन विभागाचे कर्मचारी देखील दाखल झाले होते. या दु:खद घटनेचे वृत्त वाऱ्यासारखे पसरताच बौध्द अनुयायांमध्ये कमालीचे शांतीमय वातावरण झाले असून या घटनेने संघरामगिरी परिसरात दहशतीचे वातावरण आहे.

OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition has been launched by the company in partnership with McLaren, the racing and technology brand. The phone will be available in Western Europe and North America from December 13 at a price of £649, which is Rs 58,865 on conversion. OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition India launch is set for December 12, which is tomorrow and will be available in India from December 15th.

OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition will be available with 10GB RAM. It includes OnePlus’ new Warp Charge 30 fast charging technology, said to offer day’s power in just 20 minutes. The phone comes in a combination of Papaya Orange and black colour variant. McLaren logo is on the back cover as well and the Warp Charge 30 power unit includes a Papaya Orange braided cord cable.

Another difference from the original OnePlus 6T is the pattern underneath the glass back cover that is based on McLaren’s carbon fiber technology that has been at the heart of all McLaren cars since 1981. The company said it a press statement that this technology was introduced to the Formula 1 car design.

OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition box has McLaren’s logo, Speedmarks, designed by it in F1 AA grade carbon fiber. The phone will come with McLaren software animations. The rest of the specifications of OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition are the same as the original OnePlus 6T that was launched in October.

कुछ ही वर्षो में उनसे सब कुछ छीनता चला गया, करोड़ों की संपत्ति और व्यापार होने के बावजूद अपनी ही मालिकियत की फैक्ट्रियों में उनके बेटों को नौकर बन कर काम करना पड़ा l कंपनी के साथ ही जमीन जायदाद भी दस्तावेज के आधार पर उनके रिश्तेदार और उनके बेटों ने हथियाकर अपने पास रख लिए l जिसके बाद विभिन्न बैंकों में उनके खातों को बिना इनके (रजनी देवी) हस्ताक्षर चलाया जा रहा था और लगातार उसमें से रुपए निकाले जा रहे थे I और ख़ास बात यह है की इस काली करतूत में बैंक के अधिकारी भी पूरी तरह शामिल थे l बिना असली हस्ताक्षरो के बैंक भी ठगी में शामिल होकर मानो दोनों हाथों से मदन मोहन अग्रवाल तथा रजनी अग्रवाल दंपत्ति के लाखो रुपये लुटाये गए l बात यहाँ तक ही नहीं रुकी इनके नाम का आयकर आखिर भर कौन रहा है इस बात की जांच जब रजनी के बेटे ने की तो उनके पैरों तले जमीन खिसक गई l एक ही नहीं बल्कि कई बैंकों में जो उनके खाते थे जिसकी जानकारी केवल मदन मोहन अग्रवाल और उनके साझेदार भाई रमेश चंद्र अग्रवाल को ही थी उसमे लाखो का लेन – देन चल रहा था I मदन मोहन गंभीर शारीरिक तकलीफ के चलते ना ही बोल पाते और ना किसी को बता पाते इसी बात का फायदा उठाकर उनकी हर खातों से फर्जी हस्ताक्षर कर धड़ल्ले से रुपये उड़ाए जा रहे थे l असलियत पता होने पर बैंकों के समक्ष इस परिवार ने जालसाजी को रोकने और उसे उजागर करने की गुजारिश की पर चुकी बैंक भी इस जालसाजी में मिली हुई थी तो ना ही उन्होंने कोई गुहार सुनी और ना ही मदद की l

इस बात की शिकायत आर्थिक अपराध शाखा में भी की गई पर अब तक पुलिस महकमे के इस विभाग ने भी इस मामले को न जाने क्यों जांच का विषय नहीं समझ रखा है l बैंक मैनेजर या आरोपी पक्ष जिन के खातों में यह दर्जनों फर्जी चेक क्लियर हो कर उन्हें फायदा पहुंचा चुके हैं उन्हें तक बुलाने का काम पुलिस विभाग ने नहीं किया I इसके तुरंत ही बात दूसरा मामला रजनी अग्रवाल के नाम का जाली उपयोग कर उनके खातों से भी पैसे उड़ाए गए जिसमें पंजाब नेशनल बैंक तथा नागपुर नागरिक सहकारी बैंक के प्रशासन या अधिकारियों की गैर जिम्मेदारी या मिलीभगत शामिल बताई जा रही है l उनके खातों से पैसे निकल कर विशाल अग्रवाल , उर्मिला अग्रवाल , नीलेश अग्रवाल तथा वैभव अग्रवाल इन्हीं खातों में उनकी बिना जानकारी और सहमति के जामा किये जा चुके है l सबूतों के साथ यह बात शीशे की तरह साफ है बावजूद इसके पुलिस प्रशासन इतनी बड़ी जालसाजी को भी जांचने की और कार्रवाई करने की तकलीफ नहीं उठा रहा है, जमीन जायदाद और नगद कंपनी की मिलकियत यह सब मिलाकर रजनी अग्रवाल के परिवार की जो ठगी हुई है वह कुल मिलाकर एक दो नहीं बल्कि तीन सौ से लेकर साडे तीन सौ करोड़ रुपए की बतायी जा रही है l

वर्तमान में पीड़ित परिवार अपने हक के लिए दर-दर की ठोकरें खा रहा है लेकिन उनकी सुनवाई न जाने क्यों नहीं हो पा रही l हर दस्तावेज के साथ सबूत पेश किए गए साफ तौर पर कोई भी इस जालसाजी को पहचान सकता है पर उच्च शिक्षा लिए छोटे और बड़े पुलिस अधिकारी इस मामले को समझने की कोशिश ही शायद नहीं कर रहे l अगर इसी तरह मजलूम मजबूर और परेशान लोगों की सुनवाई प्रशासन नहीं करें तो कानून और व्यवस्था पर भला विश्वास कौन करेगा यह सवाल आम नागरिको को सता रहा है l

Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2, ZenFone Max M2 launched in India: Price, specifications

In a quest to beat Xiaomi and Realme in the Indian market, Asus has launched two new smartphones today — the ZenFone Max Pro M2 and ZenFone Max M2.

ZenFone Max Price, sale date

The ZenFone Max Pro M2 is priced at Rs 12,999, Rs 14,999 and Rs 16,999 for the 3GB RAM/32GB internal storage, 4GB RAM/64GB internal storage and 6GB RAM/64GB internal storage, respectively. While the ZenFone Max M2 will cost Rs 9,999 for the 3GB RAM/32GB internal storage variant and Rs 11,999 for the 4GB RAM/64GB internal storage variant.

The two new phones will be exclusive to Flipkart and will go on sale starting December 18.

ZenFone Max Specifications, features

Out of the two, the ZenFone Max Pro M2 offers slightly enhanced specifications and features. The handset sports a 6.26-inch FHD+ (2280×1080) notched display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and Gorilla Glass 6 protection. Under the hood, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor coupled with 3/4/6GB RAM options and either 32 or 64GB storage. A microSD card slot is also there for memory expansion (up to 2TB).

The ZenFone Max Pro M2 sports dual cameras. The setup consists of a 12MP primary camera with a f/1.8 aperture and a 5MP dedicated depth sensor. At the front, there’s a 13MP camera with a f/2.0 aperture. The phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo with a stock user interface and is backed by a 5000mAh battery.

The ZenFone Max Pro M2 is a successor to the ZenFone Max Pro M1, launched in India early this year. In terms of competition, Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 will take on Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro and Realme 2 Pro.

After a brilliant six wickets in the Adelaide Test, Jasprit Bumrah has garnered praise from former Australian seamer Glenn McGrath.

The Aussie pace legend has hailed Bumrah as ‘fantastic’ and ‘an excellent modern-day bowler.’ The Gujarat-born seamer was crucial in India’s 31-run victory against Australia in the opening Test, which was played at the Adelaide Oval. Bumrah, who is famous for his pin-point yorkers, troubled the hosts with his fine line and length as he varied it with some fantastic bouncers and yorkers.

McGrath heaped praises on the 25-year-old seamer by complimenting him on his bowling action and follow through. He further praised his ability to change his length and speed at will. Bumrah during the second innings of the Adelaide Test, picked up the crucial wickets of Shaun Marsh (60), Aussie skipper Tim Paine (41) and Pat Cummins (28) when the hosts were showing some resilience while chasing the 323-run target.

3 Policemen killed, another injured In Terror Attack In Kashmir’s Shopian

Srinagar : A terrorist attack on a police post in Kashmir’s Shopian left at least three cops dead and another injured on Tuesday. According to initial reports, the police personal were deployed at a police post guarding Kashmiri Pandits at Zainpora village in Shopian. The post is around 200 meters away from the concerned police station, CRPF and army camp.

News agency reported that the terrorists entered into a guard room where four cop were on duty and shot at them, killing three. The slain police personnel have been identified as Abdul Majid, Manzoor Ahmed and Mohammed Amin. The fourth policeman have been taken to a hospital, where his condition was stated to be critical. The terrorists also walked away with weapons of the policemen, the official said, adding that all people from the community- were safe.

रविभवनातील कॅन्टीनमध्ये सिलिंडर लिकेजमुळे आग

नागपूर : नागपुरातील अत्यंत व्हीव्हीआयपींच्या थांबण्याचे ठिकाण असलेल्या रविभवनातील कॅन्टीनमध्ये आज सायंकाळी लागलेल्या आगीत तीन महिला जळाल्या. यातील 60 वर्षीय प्रमिला दिवे गंभीर जखमी असून, त्यांना मेयो रुग्णालयात दाखल करण्यात आले. यानिमित्त अत्यंत संवेदनशील रविभवनातील कॅन्टीन संचालकाची दिरंगाईही उघड झाली.

केंद्रीय मंत्री, राज्याचे मंत्री यांच्याशिवाय व्हीव्हीआयपींच्या निवासाची सोय रविभवनात केली जाते. त्यामुळे तेथील सुरक्षाही तेवढीच ताकदीची अपेक्षित आहे. मात्र, येथील कॅन्टीनमध्ये सुरक्षेच्या चिंधड्या उडविल्या जात असल्याचे आज दिसून आले. सायंकाळी साडेसहाच्या सुमारास येथील कॅन्टीनमध्ये प्रमिला दिवे (वय 60), विद्या गायकवाड (वय 40), विजया शिरकर (वय 40) या तिघी जणी गॅसवरील शेगडीवर पोळ्या करीत होत्या. गॅस शेगडी जमिनीवर ठेवण्यात आली होती. पोळ्या करीत असताना गॅस गळती झाल्याने आगीने भडका घेतला. यात पोळ्या टाकणाऱ्या तिघीही आगीच्या कवेत आल्या. मात्र, प्रमिला दिवे यात जास्त भाजल्या. त्यांना उपचारासाठी मेयो रुग्णालयात दाखल करण्यात आल्याचे अग्निशमन विभागातील अधिकाऱ्याने नमूद केले. घटनेची माहिती मिळताच अग्निशमन विभागाचा एक बंब घटनास्थळी पोहोचला. तत्काळ आग विझविण्यात आली.

गॅस सिलिंडरचा पाइप जीर्ण झाल्याने त्यातून गॅस गळती झाल्याने आग लागल्याचे अग्निशमन अधिकाऱ्याने सांगितले. त्यामुळे साधा गॅसचा पाइप बदलविण्यातही कॅन्टीन संचालक हयगय करीत असल्याचे स्पष्ट झाले. व्हीव्हीआयपींच्या निवासाचे स्थान असलेल्या रविभवनातही सुरक्षेबाबत हयगय केली जात असल्याने आश्‍चर्य व्यक्त करण्यात येत आहे.

NMC scores 86.56% in self assessment for Swachh survey

Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has given itself 1,082 point out of the maximum 1,250 on a self-assessment of the city’s cleanliness — a requirement for the forthcomining Swachh Survekshan between January 4 and January 31, 2019, said a senior official from NMC’s sanitation department.

The self-rating is based on parameters like door-to-door garbage collection, waste segregation, presence of litter bins, community and public toilets, toilet on Google maps, grievance redressal, and treatment of sewerage water. This assessment gets 25% weight in the overall survey, which is carried out by the centre.

The marks given by NMC are based on its own inputs. The final scores in Swachh Survekshan 2019 will not have a direct relation to these marks.

In 2018, though not satisfactory, Nagpu city managed to rise up to 55th rank, up from 137 in 2017 Swachh Survekshan.

A NMC official said preparations are on in full swing as the survey is set to be held next month. “The survey this year will carry a total of 5000 marks as compared to 4000 marks in Swachh Survekshan 2018.”

NMC has already activated its war-room with Dr. Pradip Dasarwar as nodal officer and the team has already started chalking out marks the city may score as per its current situation, and where and what needs to be done to improve its marking.

NMC has also distributed over 3,500 GPS-based wrist watches to sanitary employees and last year this innovation had helped NMC to score more, the official said.

ILFS workers create ruckus in MahaMetro Civil Lines office

Nagpur : Workers of Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services (ILFS) and its sub-contractors created ruckus in MahaMetro’s Civil Lines office over non-payment of salaries. The company has not paid salaries to its workers since last three months. Similarly, it has not cleared the bills of its sub-contractors as a result of which they have not paid their workers. About 800 workers been hit. ILFS is constructing 10 Metro stations on the Mihan-Sitabuldi stretch. It has already completed three stations on at grade section and work is going on for seven elevated stations.

ILFS officials had told the workers that they were unable to pay salaries as MahaMetro had not cleared bills worth Rs22 crore. The workers contacted Congress city president Vikas Thakre who reached the Metro office and gheraoed general manager (administration) Anil Kokate. Meanwhile, the sub-contractors had a prolonged meeting with director (project) Mahesh Kumar. Both Kokate and Kumar assured to find a solution after managing director Brijesh Dixit reached Nagpur.

Metro officials later told that the agency did not owe anything to ILFS. “It had submitted a bill of Rs3 crore. However, it has been offset against the advance we gave it earlier. The services of the company was unsatisfactory and we are encashing the bank guarantee (BG) as per our agreement,” they said.

The officials further said that they could not directly pay the workers as there was no provision in the contract to do this. “The employees and contractors will have to collect their salaries from ILFS. However, we will try to help them,” they added.

After Thakre left the office Sadar cops reached there and tried to drive out the workers. The workers refused to budge and had a heated exchange of words with them. The cops and MahaMetro guards somehow managed to persuade the workers to leave the office premises.

Maharajbagh Zoo will not shut down : PDKV vice chancellor

Nagpur: Dr V M Bhale, Vice-Chancellor, Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth (PDKV), faced agressive Shiv Sena workers in the hall of College of Agriculture on Monday and assured that he would make all efforts to continue existence of Maharajbag zoo.

Prakash Jadhav, former MP and Leader of Shiv Sena, led the workers, who staged demonstrations in the premises of the college raising slogans like ‘Nahi Chalegi Nahi Chalegi Tanashahi Nahi Chalegi’, ‘Aitihasik Prani Sangrahalaya Maharajbag Bandh Hovu Denar Nahi’, ‘Jai Shivaji Jai Bhavani’ etc. saying that they would never allow this historic zoo to close down.

It may be mentioned here that Central Zoo Authority, Delhi, has cancelled recognition of this zoo in the first week of this month in view of the zoo authorities not following conditions/suggestions by it to improve the zoo.

Shiv Sena workers had also launched agitation two days ago, when Dr Bhale had assured to talk to them on Monday. Accordingly, he called the agitationists in the hall for discussion on the issue. Jadhav blamed the authorities for not taking any developmental activities for making improvements in this green lung that is situated centrally in the city. He pointed out that PDKV was not taking any action to remove enroachments on its land at Bajaj Nagar, Kachipura and other areas. He asked as to how it could afford to leave a piece of two acre land in between Mor Bhavan terminus and new road towards Maharajbag.

He drew the attention of Dr Bhale towards VNIT and RTM Nagpur University having lands at different places but
they are alert in not leaving even a small piece. He charged that there was a conspiracy to reduce the land of zoo for commercial purpose. Alleging that the administration is in deep slumber, Jadhav suggested the authorities to capture the encroached land at Kachipura and develop a mall there to directly sell organic agricultural commodities of the farmers to bring them financial benefits.

Dr Bhale assured that he would convene a meeting of the executive council to discuss this issue. The zoo authorities would even go to Delhi to meet higher authorities of CZA, he said seeking cooperation of Shiv Sena leaders in this regard. PDKV would also make efforts to fulfill the conditions laid down by CZA, he added. A meeting has been called with Shiv Sena leaders in the first week of January 2019 to discuss progress made by then and ways to save Maharajbag zoo.

Later, workers staged demonstrations at Maharajbag Chowk disturbing traffic and courted arrest. A police bandobust was made at the chowk. Kishor Kumeriya, Corporator, Raju Tumsare, Hitesh Yadav, Nitin Tiwari, Chintu Mahajan, Sunil Banerjee, Munna Tiwari, Ram Kukde, Rajesh Kanojiya, Sanjog Rathod, Akshay Meshram, Asdhish Hadge, Sandip Patel, Abbas Ali, Vishal Kurke, Guddu Rahangdale, Sanjay Bagde and others took active part. Ajay Taywade, Pranay Parate, Dilip Mohitkar, Milind Raut of Agro-Vet Agro-Engineers Pariwar extended active suppport to the agitation.

दोन वर्षांत महापालिका ४५० कोटींचे भूखंड मेट्रोला हस्तांतरित करणार

नागपूर : आर्थिक संकटात असलेल्या नागपूर महापालिकेने नागपूर मेट्रो रेल्वेला आतापर्यंत ६६ कोटी रुपयांच्या जमीन हस्तांतरित केल्या असून पुढील दोन वर्षांत सुमारे साडेचारशे कोटींचा भूखंड हस्तांतरित करणार आहे. याशिवाय खोवा बाजार, संत्रा मार्केट, कॉटन मार्केट, नेताजी मार्केट, ऑरेंज स्ट्रीट (लंडन) विकसित करण्यासाठी ३० वर्षांकरिता भाडेपट्टीवर जमीन हस्तांतरित केली जाणार आहे.

महापालिकेचा मेट्रो प्रकल्प उभारणीत ५ टक्के वाटा आहे म्हणजे ४३४ कोटी रुपये मेट्रोला द्यायचे आहे. ही रक्कम देणे शक्य होत नाही. त्यामुळे महापालिकेने मेट्रो कॉरिडोरमधील आपल्या मालिकीच्या जमिनी मेट्रोला देऊ केल्या. आतापर्यंत मेट्रो मार्ग, स्टेशन, पॉवर स्टेशनसाठी जमिनी हस्तांतरित केल्या आहेत. मेट्रोने त्या जमिनीची किंमत बाजार मूल्यानुसार ६६ कोटी रुपये आकारले आहेत. यामुळे महापालिका आणखी काही जमिनी मेट्रोला देणार आहे, असे महामेट्रोच्या अधिकाऱ्यांनी सांगितले.

नागपूर मेट्रो प्रकल्पाचा अंदाजित खर्च ८ हजार ६८० कोटी आहे. हा प्रकल्प डिसेंबर २०१८ ला पूर्ण होईल, असे गृहित धरून हा अंदाजित खर्च आखण्यात आला. त्यामुळे प्रकल्पाची किंमत वाढेल आणि महापालिकेचा वाटा देखील वाढणार आहे. हा खर्च ११ हजार कोटी रुपयांच्या घरात जाण्याची शक्यता आहे. नागपूर महापालिका आणि नागपूर सुधार प्रन्यासचा प्रत्येक पाच टक्के वाटा आहे. त्यामुळे महापालिकेचा वाटा ४३४ कोटीवरून पुढे जाणार आहे.

त्यावर उपाय म्हणून महापालिकेने ज्या भागातून मेट्रो जात आहे. त्या भागातील महापालिकेचे बाजार किंवा मोडकळीस आलेल्या शाळा आणि इतर कार्यालयाची जागा महामेट्रोला देण्याचे ठरवले आहे. काही जमिनी हस्तांतरित झाल्या आहेत, तर काही प्रस्तावित आहेत, असे स्थापत्य आणि प्रकल्प समितीचे अध्यक्ष संजय बंगाले यांनी सांगितले.

Grocery shop owner killed in tiger attack near Tadoba

In yet another tiger attack in Warora tehsil, a person was killed on the spot at Ramdegi, a scenic spot adjacent to Tadoba-Andheri Tiger Reserve (TATR),on Monday.

As per reports, the deceased, identified as Sandip Arjun Titre, 38, was a resident of village Ralegaon in the tehsil. Sandip had a grocery shop at Ramdegi where tourists throng in large numbers to enjoy waterfall and scenic beauty of the place. On Monday, Sandip opened his shop around 8 am and carried out regular cleaning works. Later, he went to attend nature’s call in behind the bushes. However, a tiger hiding behind the bushes suddenly attacked Sandip.

In another incident, a six-year-old boy was critically injured in leopard attack. Notably, Arjuni-Kokewada and Ramdegi are adjourning places.

The post-mortem was held in Sub-District Rural Hospital and the body was handed over to the relatives of the deceased.

Nagpur’s Mihan MRO to hold new workshop in 2019

Nagpur : Finally, Air India’s Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) unit at Mihan SEZ will see some significant activity after a hiatus. Air India has decided to commission a new workshop for testing and overhauling GE engines used in Boeing 777 and Boeing 787 by the year 2019.

Initially established by Boeing the Nagpur MRO unit was later handed over to Air India as a part of the mega purchase of 112 aircraft. The unit also carries out maintenance work for third-party aircraft.

As per the official sources a whopping amount of Rs 400 crore has already been invested at the Mihan facility. The facility is carrying out airframe and other critical tests such as C-checks. But the aircraft are sent to GE’s global facilities in Europe or Singapore for other crucial tests involving the engines and for overhaul.

At Mihan, service personnel are currently being recruited. Such workshops will further sweeten the deal in the event of the sale of Air India, the official said.

The MRO facilty at the Mihan SEZ is built over 50 acres. It was set up as a joint initiative between Air India and Boeing in June 2010.

पहले राउंड में प्रतिभागियों ने अपना परिचय दिया। दूसरे राउंड में रैम्पवॉक किया और तीसरे और आखिरी राउंड में क्वेश्चन आंसर सेशन में बौद्धिक क्षमता का परिचय दिया। इवेंट में तीन ग्रुप्स मिस फेब, मिसेस फेब और मिस्टर फेब थे। तीनों ग्रुप्स में कुल 3000 इंट्रियां आई थी। पहले चरण में चुने गए प्रतिभागियों की को 10 दिन तक ग्रूमिंग की गई थीं। इवेंट आर्गनाइजर वैशाली वर्मा ने कहा कि नागपुर के युवा दिल्ली और मुंबई की बराबरी कर रहे हैं और इसका श्रेय इन युवाओं के माता-पिता को जाता है।

Girl killed after her head bangs on school bus’ roof

Nagpur : A 14-YEAR-OLD student of Dhiran Kanya Vidyalaya, Sitabuldi, was killed and three other seriously injured after their heads bumped against roof of the school bus in Butibori area, on Monday evening.

The deceased was identified as Sanskriti Lokesh Sharma (14), a resident of Butibori. The injured are Mahak Sheikh (14), Aprita Wankhede (14) and Ritika Das (14), all residents of Butibori.

According to police, the students boarded the school bus at around 5.30 pm from the school in Sitabuldi. The bus was heading towards Butibori from Hingna. As it hit a pothole at great speed, the students got tossed up and their heads bumped against the roof. The conductor immediately alerted the driver and stopped the bus. The driver took the bus to hospital and after admitting the students, fled the spot.

A police officer informed that Sanskriti breathed her last during treatment. Other three students are being treated in the hospital and their condition is reportedly stable. A large number of villagers, including parents of the students, gathered at the hospital and demanded stern action against the driver. Butibori police have registered an offence against the driver.

रियल लाइफ के हीरों से मिले रील लाइफ के हीरो

नागपुर : फिल्म के शूटिंग के आठवें दिन रील लाइफ और रियल लाइफ के हीरों की मुलाकात हुई। मोहन नगर स्थित सेंट जॉन स्कूल में जारी नागराज मंजुले की फिल्म झुंड के सेट पर सोमवार को दोनों की मुलाकात हुई।

विजय बारसे ने बताया कि नागराज मंजुले ने उन्हें सेट पर अमिताभ बच्चन से मिलने बुलाया। दोपहर लगभग 2.30 बजे बारसे अपने परिवार के साथ शूटिंग स्थल पर पहुंचे। बिग बी ने बारसे से कहा कि उनके मिशन पर काम कर उन्हें गर्व हो रहा है।

प्रत्येक नागरिकाची समस्या सोडविण्याला प्राधान्य : पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे

नागपूर : आसीनगर झोनअंतर्गत आलेल्या सर्व नागरिकांच्या समस्या सोडविण्याचा पूर्णपणे प्रयत्न करणार असल्याचे आश्वासन पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे यांनी दिले. नागपूर शहरात ठिकठिकाणी विकास कामे सुरू आहेत. प्रभागातील काही कामे निधींमुळे रखडले आहे. ज्या कामांसाठी निधीची आवश्यकता आहे, त्यासंदर्भात आपण स्वत: तातडीने निर्णय घेऊ. सर्व तक्रारींचा पाठपुरावा दर आठ दिवसांनी आपण करणार आहोत. कामे न केल्यास अधिकाऱ्यांवर कडक कारवाई करण्यात येईल, असा इशाराही पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे यांनी दिला.

नागपूर शहरातील जनतेशी थेट संवाद साधण्यासाठी, त्यांच्या समस्या व अडचणी जाणून घेण्यासाठी जिल्ह्याचे पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे यांनी महापालिका झोननिहाय जनसंवाद कार्यक्रमाचे नियोजन केले आहे. सोमवारी (ता.१०) पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे यांनी जनसंवाद कार्यक्रमांतर्गत आसीनगर झोनमधील नागरिकांच्या समस्या, तक्रारी ऐकत त्यांचे समाधान केले. यावेळी महापौर नंदा जिचकार, उत्तर नागपूरचे आमदार डॉ.मिलिंद माने, उपमहापौर दीपराज पार्डीकर, स्थायी समिती सभापती वीरेंद्र कुकरेजा, आयुक्त अभिजीत बांगर, आसीनगर झोन सभापती वंदना चांदेकर, जलप्रदाय समिती सभापती पिंटू झलके, बसपा पक्षनेते मोहम्मद जमाल, नगरसेविका भावना लोणारे, नेहा निकोसे, भाग्यश्री कानतोडे, मंगला लांजेवार, विरंका भिवगडे, नसीम खान बानो इब्राहिम, वैशाली नारनवरे, नगरसेवक मनोज सांगोळे, जितेंद्र घोडेस्वार, दिनेश यादव, परसराम मानवटकर, मोहम्मद इब्राहिम तौफिक अहमद, संदीप सहारे, अतिरिक्त आयुक्त रवींद्र ठाकरे, राम जोशी, आसीनगर झोन सहायक आयुक्त गणेश राठोड प्रामुख्याने उपस्थित होते.

प्रारंभी अतिरिक्त आयुक्त रवींद्र ठाकरे यांनी आसीनगर झोनमधून २४३ तक्रारी प्राप्त झाल्याची माहिती दिली. या सर्व तक्रारी पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे यांनी ऐकून घेतल्या. त्यातील ज्या तक्रारींवर कार्यवाही झालेली आहे त्यावर तक्रारकर्ता समाधानी आहे की नाही, असे तक्रारकर्त्यांना विचारले. ज्या तक्रारींवर तक्रारकर्ता समाधानी नाही, त्यावर संबंधित अधिकाऱ्याला जाब विचारत किती दिवसात तक्रारकर्त्याचे समाधान होईल, त्याचा अवधी विचारत त्या अवधीत समाधान झाले नाही तर संबंधित अधिकाऱ्यावर कडक कारवाई करू, असा इशारा दिला.

ज्या कामांसाठी निधी उपलब्ध नाही परंतु ती कामे अत्यावश्यक आहे, अशा कामांच्या निधीकरिता झोनची एक स्वतंत्र माहितीपुस्तिका तयार करावी. त्यासाठी आपण स्वत: विशेष बाब म्हणून शासनाकडे प्रस्ताव पाठवू आणि निधी आणू, असे आश्वासन पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे यांनी दिले.

पिवळीनदीच्या संरक्षण भिंती दुरुस्तीसंदर्भातील तक्रारीवर एक प्रस्ताव तयार करून केंद्र शासनाकडे पाठवावा, असे निर्देश पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे यांनी दिले. याव्यतिरिक्त गडरलाईन दुरूस्ती, सिवरेज लाईन, अतिक्रमण, अपंगाना ई-रिक्षा, ग्रीन जीम, उद्यानांचे सौंदर्यीकरण, खेळाचे मैदान, रस्त्याची डागडुजी यासंदर्भातील तक्रारींचा निपटारा करण्यात आला.

परिसरात मोकाट जनावरे आणि डुक्करांचा हैदोस प्रचंड वाढलेला आहे, अशी तक्रार मोठ्या प्रमाणावर होती. यावर बोलताना मनपा प्रशासनाने नव्याने निविदा काढाव्यात आणि मनपा प्रशासन आणि पोलिस विभागाच्या सहकार्याने ही समस्या सोडविण्यात यावी, असे निर्देश पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे यांनी दिले. यासंदर्भात स्वत: पुन्हा झोनमध्ये बैठक घेईल, असेही सांगितले.

आरोग्य विभागासंदर्भात बऱ्याच तक्रारी होत्या. कचरा संकलन केंद्र, कचरा घंटा गाडी नियमित येत नाही, यासंबंधीची तक्रार होती. त्यावर ती समस्या आठ दिवसाच्या आत सोडविण्याचे निर्देश पालकमंत्र्यांनी दिले.

मालकी हक्काचे पट्टे मिळण्यातील अडचण दूर
जनसंवाद कार्यक्रमात मालकी हक्काचे पट्टे मिळण्यासंदर्भातील काही अर्ज होते. त्यावर बोलताना पालकमंत्री चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे यांनी सांगितले की शासनाने १७ नोव्हेंबर २०१८ रोजी काढलेल्या आदेशानुसार यातील अडचण पूर्णपणे दूर झाली आहे. त्यामुळे नियम व अटीनुसार जे मालकी पट्ट्याचे हकदार आहेत, त्यांना लवकरच मालकी हक्काचे पट्टे मिळतील, असे ते म्हणाले. बेघरांना पंतप्रधान आवास योजनेतून हक्काचे घर मिळेल, असेही त्यांनी सांगितले.

नागपुरात रोजगार घोटाळा

नागपूर : सहायक अभियंत्यांच्या नावाने रोजगार देण्याची जाहिरात प्रसिद्ध करून शेकडो युवकांना कबीर इन्फोटेक लिमिटेड कंपनीने फसविले असल्याचे धक्कादायक वास्तव पुढे आले आहे. प्रशिक्षणाच्या नावाने या कंपनीने विदर्भातील वेगवेगळ्या जिल्ह्यातील बेरोजगार युवक-युवतींकडून पैसे उकळले. मात्र, एक महिन्याचे वेतन दिले असून उर्वरित पैसा घशात घातल्याने खळबळ उडाली आहे. युवकांना दिलेले धनादेशही बाउन्स झाले आहेत. जिल्हाधिकारी कार्यालयात या युवकांनी एकत्र येत घोषणा दिल्या. तसेच पोलिसांतही तक्रार दिली.

इंजिनीअर बनायचे असे स्वप्न घेऊन अनेक युवक बीईचे शिक्षण घेतात. लाखो रुपये या शिक्षणावर खर्च झाल्यानंतर एक चांगली नोकरी मिळावी यासाठी बेरोजगार युवक कंपन्यांकडे पायपीट करतात. बेरोजगार युवकांची ही नस ओळखून कबीर इन्फोटेक कंपनीने युवकांना फसविले असल्याच्या तक्रारी आता दाखल झाल्या आहेत. निवासी उपजिल्हाधिकारी रवींद्र खजांजी आणि पोलिसांतही या विद्यार्थ्यांनी धाव घेतली आहे. सोमवारी शेकडो युवक जिल्हाधिकारी कार्यालयाच्या परिसरात धडकले. बनावट कंपनी थाटून युवकांना फसविणाऱ्या कंपनीविरोधात कारवाई करण्याची मागणी या युवकांनी केली. प्रशित बन्सोड या व्यक्तीने आपली फसवणूक केली असल्याचे या तक्रारीत म्हटले आहे. विद्यार्थ्यांनी दिलेल्या मोबाइल क्रमांकावर ‘मटा’ने संपर्क साधण्याचा प्रयत्न केला मोबाइल स्विच्ड ऑफ असल्याची माहिती मिळाली.

प्रशिक्षणाच्या नावाने उकळला पैसा

सहायक अभियंता या पदासाठी जाहिरात प्रसिद्ध करण्यात आली. १० हजार ते २० हजार रुपयांपर्यंत वेतन देण्याचे या जाहिरातीत म्हटले होते. ‘जॉब फुलटाइम आहे’, असा उल्लेख असणाऱ्या कंपनीने युवकांना आता पुन्हा बेरोजगार केले आहे. प्रशिक्षणाच्या नावाने या कंपनीने काही युवकांकडून ३० हजार तर काहींकडून ५० हजार रुपये वसूल केले. हिंगणा एमआयडीसी परिसरात कार्यशाळा भरवून युवकांना प्रशिक्षण देण्यात आले. मिनी फ्रिज आणि एसी निर्माण करण्याचे काम देण्यात येणार असल्याचे सांगितले जात होते, मात्र प्रत्यक्षात टेझर गन तयार करण्याचे काम देण्यात आले. मात्र, हे कामही तात्पुरते होते. अनेकांना केवळ एक महिन्याचे वेतन देऊन उर्वरित पैसा या कंपनीने घशात घातल्याची तक्रार या युवकांनी केली आहे.
