वाहन चालाते समय ट्रैफिक नियमों को तोड़ने पर लाइसेंस सस्पेंड: यातायात विभाग करेगा कार्रवाई

नागपुर : रोड पर वाहन चालाते समय नियमो की धज्जिया उड़ाते हुवे वाहन चलनेवालों की अब खैर नहीं क्योकि ट्रैफिक नियमों को तोड़ने वालों को अब उसके बदले उनका लाइसेंस खोना पडेगा |

राज्य सरकार के नये जीआर के अनुसार अब पहली बारी में ही नियम तोड़ने वालों का लाइसेंस सस्पेड किया जानेवाला है। कई जगह यातायात विभाग ने इसकी कार्रवाई भी शुरू कर दी है। शहर की यातायात व्यवस्था सुचारू तरीके से रहने के लिए कुछ नियम वाहनधारको को निभाने पड़ते हैं।

गाड़ी की रफ्तार कम रखे, शराब पीकर गाड़ी नहीं चलाना, सिग्नल नहीं तोड़ना, गाड़ी चलाते हुए मोबाइल पर बातचीत नहीं करना आदि शामिल हैं। बावजूद इसके शहर में कई वाहनधारक नियमों की धज्जिया उड़ाते हुए गाड़ी चलाते हैं। ऐसे में इन पर यातायात विभाग कार्रवाई करता है। अब तक पहली बारी में नियमों को तोड़ते हुए मिलने वाले वाहनधारकों को चालान थमाया जाता था। जिसके बाद वाहनधारक को इस चालन को संबंधित विभाग के कार्यालय में जाकर भरना पड़ता था। यदि ऐसा नहीं किया तो यातायात विभाग कोर्ट या आरटीओ के माध्यम से वाहनधारकों का लाइसेंस निलंबित करते थे। लेकिन अब राज्य सरकार के नये जीआर के अनुसार पहली बारी में ही उक्त नियमों का उल्लंघन करते हुए लाहनधारक का लाइसेंस आरटीओ के माध्यम से निलंबित किया जाएगा।

कुल ३ माह के लिए लाइसेंस निलंबित रहेगा। इस बीच वाहनधारक गाड़ी नहीं चला सकेगा। वहीं लाइसेंस के लिए उसे पुन प्रक्रिया कर लाइसेंस निकालना पड़ेगा। यातायात विभाग ने गत एक माह से इस तरह की कार्रवाई भी शुरू कर दी है। जिसमें अब तक सैकडों वाहनधारकों के लाइसेंस रद्द करने के लिए आरटीओ के पास भेजे गये हैं।

Manu Bhaker, Saurabh Chaudhary among 16 shooters named for TOPS support

Eight young shooters including Manu Bhaker and Saurabh Chaudhary were on Thursday included in the Target Olympic Scheme (TOPS) along with two tennis players and three paddlers, keeping in mind the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The TOPS offers a monthly financial support of Rs 50,000 to the selected athletes.

“The performance of potential athletes was reviewed in the context of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. It was also decided to extend support towards a specific developmental group for the 2024 Olympics,” a Sports Authority of India (SAI) release said.

Both Bhaker (women’s 10m air pistol) and Chaudhary (men’s 10m air pistol) had won gold medals at the recent Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

प्रेयसीची राजस्थानात विक्री , आरोपीस अटक

नागपूर : एका युवकाने १६ वर्षीय मुलीला प्रेमाच्या जाळ्यात ओढून तिची राजस्थानमध्ये दीड लाख रुपयांत विक्री केली. विकत घेणाऱ्या व्यापाऱ्याने त्या मुलीला मजूर म्हणून शेतीच्या कामावर ठेवून तिच्यावर लैंगिक अत्याचार केला. या प्रकरणी त्या मुलीच्या प्रियकर आणि दोन दलालांना हुडकेश्‍वर पोलिसांनी अटक केली.

गुन्हे शाखा पोलिसांनी नवरदेवासह आंतरराज्यीय टोळीच्या तीन सदस्यांना पकडले आहे. पंकज हनुमान आपतुरकर (३०, रा. भवानीनगर पारडी), श्‍यामलाल रामकिसन गुजर (३३) आणि सुरेंद्र जगन्नाथ चौधरी (२७, झालावाड, कोटा-राजस्थान) अशी आरोपीची नावे आहेत.

पीडित १६ वर्षीय अल्पवयीन मुलगी अजनी येथील रामटेकेनगरात राहते. तिच्या कुटुंबात आई आणि भाऊ आहे. आर्थिक परिस्थितीमुळे हलाखीची होती. दरम्यान, तिचे पंकज आपतुरकर या ऑटोचालक युवकाशी सूत जुळले. त्याने तिच्या गरिबीचा फायदा घेत तिच्यावर अनेकदा लैंगिक अत्याचार केला. डिसेंबर २०१६ मध्ये पंकजने तिच्या माध्यमातून पैसे कमविण्याची युक्‍ती लढवली. त्याने प्रेयसीला दलालाच्या माध्यमातून देहव्यापारासाठी विकण्याचे ठरविले. पंकजने पीडित अल्पवयीन मुलीची मानसिक अवस्था ओळखली. लग्नाचे आमिष दाखवून तिला नोकरी लावून देण्याचे आमिष दाखविले. तो तिला एका महिला दलालाकडे घेऊन गेला. दोघांनी मध्य प्रदेशातील एका दलालाशी संपर्क केला. त्यांनी दीड लाख रुपयांत दलालाला मुलीची विक्री केली. दलालाने तिची जास्त किंमत ठरविण्यासाठी राजस्थानला नेले. तेथे मुलीला श्‍यामलाल गुजर नावाच्या व्यापाऱ्याला विकले. श्‍यामलालने तिला काही महिने घरी ठेवून अत्याचार केला. नंतर तिला सुरेंद्र चौधरी नावाच्या व्यक्तीला दोन लाख रुपयांत विकले. सुरेंद्रने बनावट दस्तावेजाच्या मदतीने तिच्याशी लग्न केले आणि तिला आपल्या शेतावर बंधुआ मजूर म्हणून ठेवले.

काही दिवसांतच मुलीने पळ काढण्याचा प्रयत्न केला. त्यामुळे सुरेंद्रचे कुटुंबीय तिच्यावर पाळत ठेवायचे. काही दिवसांपूर्वी तिने गावातील शाळेच्या शिक्षकाला आपली हकीकत सांगितली. त्याने मोबाईल देऊन आईशी बोलणे करून दिले. तेव्हा तिने आपल्या आईला फोन करून आपबीती सांगितली. आईने नितीन मोंढे नावाच्या सामाजिक कार्यकर्त्याच्या मदतीने हुडकेश्‍वर पोलिस स्टेशन गाठले.

मोहन भागवतांना नागपुरच्याच तुरुंगात टाकणार : प्रकाश आंबेडकर

नागपूर : ‘सत्तेसाठी प्रत्येकाचे वेगवेगळे खेळ सुरू आहेत. भाजपा आणि राष्ट्रीय स्वयं सेवक संघाचेही वेगळे खेळ सुरू आहेत. पंतप्रधानांच्या हत्येच्या कटात माझे नाव गोवण्यात आले. तीन महिने थांबा, पुढील निवडणुकीत भाजपला चारवर आणल्याशिवाय राहाणार नाही’, असे सांगतानाच सरसंघचालक मोहन भागवत यांना नागपूरच्या तुरुंगात टाकण्याचा जाहीर इशारा भारिप बहुजन महासंघाचे अध्यक्ष व वंचित बहुजन आघाडीचे प्रणेते प्रकाश आंबेडकर यांनी नागपूर येथील जाहीर सभेत दिला.

नागपूर येथे गुरुवारी एमआयएम आणि भारिप बहुजन महासंघातर्फे वंचित बहुजन आघाडीचे ‘अर्थव्यवस्था अधिवेशन’ घेण्यात आले. यावेळी आंबेडकर यांनी सरकारवर सडकून टीका केली. उर्जित पटेल यांच्या जागी आलेले आरबीआय गव्हर्नर शक्तिकांत दास हे इतिहासाचे पदवीधर आहेत. अर्थशास्रातील तज्ज्ञाऐवजी इतिहासातील पदवीधर आणून यांना रिझर्व्ह बँक इतिहासजमा करायची आहे काय, असा सवाल आंबेडकर यांनी केला.

प्रकाश आंबेडकर चालतील, पण ओवेसी नाही

राज्यात काँग्रेसही खेळ खेळत आहे. प्रकाश आंबेडकर चालतील. पण, ओवेसी चालणार नाही, असे काँग्रेसचे प्रदेशाध्यक्ष अशोक चव्हाण यांनी जाहीररित्या सांगितले आहे. पण ओवेसींना सोडून काँग्रेससोबत कदापि युती होणार नाही, असे आंबेडकर यांनी ठणकावून सांगितले. काँग्रेसला आंबेडकर चालतात. मग ओवेसी का चालत नाही, असा सवाल आंबेडकर यांनी केला.

मुळात अशोक चव्हाण यांना आमच्याशी बोलण्याचे अधिकार केंद्रीय नेतृत्वाने दिले आहेत काय, असा सवालही त्यांनी केला. आतापर्यत पाच बैठका झाल्या. पण अजूनही केंद्रीय नेतृत्वाकडून चर्चेचा निरोप आला नाही, असे आंबेडकर म्हणाले. सभेचे प्रमुख आकर्षण असलेले असदुद्दीन ओवेसी न आल्यामुळे उपस्थितांची निराशा झाली.

NMC Law Committee chief objects to extend contract with security agencies

Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) administration is in the process of extending the contract with security agencies even beyond December 31, the date of expiry of contract period.

However, it has not gone down well with Adv Dharmpal Meshram, Chairman of Law Committee of NMC. Adv Meshram, on Wednesday, raised a strong objection to the said proposal. He told the reporters that he was opposed to further extension of contract with the agencies for provision of security guards to NMC.

“In the first place, these agencies got the contract on the basis of misleading and bogus documents. I have been raising this point through complaints lodged with the civic administration previously. In fact, I had raised the issue in general body meeting held in July earlier this year. But, nothing has happened. Now, the civic administration is preparing a proposal for grant of further extension of these agencies,” he said.

NMC had signed contract with four agencies namely Super Security Services, Industrial Security Services, Kishor Agencies, and Unity Security Force and Training Institute for provision of security guards to the local body. In its meeting held on December 1, Standing Committee of NMC cleared a proposal for scrapping of contract with two of these agencies. The Standing Committee decided to scrap contract with Industrial Security Services and Kishor Agencies over ‘violation of terms and conditions’. As NMC is yet to register with District Security Guard Board, Standing Committee decided to initiate the process of registration. Till then, Super Security Services and Unity Security Force and Training Institute were asked to provide security guards for locations that were previously looked after by Industrial Security Services and Kishor Agencies.

The term of contract for all these agencies is coming to an end on December 31, 2018. As the process of registration with District Security Guard Board is expected to take more time, NMC has started the process for grant of extension to existing agencies. Adv Meshram, on Wednesday, submitted a complaint in writing against this to Municipal Commissioner. He demanded tender process to be conducted afresh. As per NMC’s assessment, it requires 289 security guards. Considering the District Security Guard Board’s revised rates, these many guards will mean monthly expenditure of Rs 58,26,638.82 for NMC. This means, annual expenditure of Rs 6,99,19,665.84.

Stage set for mega play ‘Shivputra Sambhaji’ in Nagpur

Nagpur : Madhyam Lokseva Pratishthan, a social organisation and Mohan Mate Mitra Pariwar are all set to stage ‘Shivputra Sambhaji’, a mega play on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj from December 22 to 28 at Reshimbag ground.

The show will be held from 5.30 pm to 9.30 pm daily and entry to it will be free to all. Dr Amol Kolhe, a popular artist playing Sambhaji in TV serial ‘Swarajyarakshak Sambhaji’ will perform the lead role of Sambhaji Maharaj in ‘Shivputra Sambhaji’.

Well-known actor Ravi Patwardhan will play the role of Aurangzeb. Addressing a press conference, at Patrakar Club of Nagpur on Thursday, Dr Amol Kolhe stated, “Shivputra Sambhaji, a mega play has successfully completed 136 shows in Maharashtra. Most of these shows were held in Western Maharashtra, Marathwada and North Maharashtra. For the first time, the play is being organised in Vidarbha region. As an artist and an ardent disciple of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, I feel to tell the story of bravery, courage and valour of Shivaji Maharaj and his son Sambhaji Maharaj to entire country. Vidarbha being a part of Maharashtra is not knowing much about Sambhaji Maharaj and this mega play will take him to each and every house of Vidarbha.” Maharaja Shambhu Chhatrapati Production, Pune is the producer of ‘Shivputra Sambhaji’.

The mega play will have a revolving replica of 80X55 ft high fort near the stage. People will witness real elephants, horses, camels, bullock-carts in this play. For the first time Sambhaji will enter riding a horse through the audience. The sword fight among Marathas and Mughals, sound of canon explosion and war amidst shower of flaming arrows, palanquin, coronation ceremony all will be witnessed by people of Nagpur and around. अवनी प्रकरण: मुनगंटीवारांनी ठोकला संजय निरुपमांवर अब्रुनुकसानीचा दावा

नागपूर : वनमंत्री सुधीर मुनगंटीवार यांनी गुरुवारी मुंबई काँग्रेसचे अध्यक्ष संजय निरुपम यांच्यावर अब्रुनुकसानीचा दावा ठोकला आहे. निरुपम यांनी १० नोव्हेंबरला पार पडलेल्या पत्रकार परिषदेत मुनगंटीवार यांच्यावर अवनी वाघिणीच्या मृत्यूवरून आरोप केले होते.

आंतरराष्ट्रीय तस्करांशी मुनगंटीवार आणि भाजप नेत्यांचे संबंध असल्याचे निरुपम यांनी म्हटले होते. यवतमाळ जिल्ह्यात १४ जणांचा बळी घेणाऱ्या अवनी वाघिणीला गोळ्या झाडून ठार करण्याचे आदेश राज्य सरकारने दिले होते. त्यानंतर सर्वच स्तरातून राज्य सरकार आणि वनमंत्री सुधीर मुनगंटीवार यांच्यावर टीकेची झोड उठविण्यात आली. मुनगंटीवार यांच्यासह भाजप नेत्यांचे तस्करांशी संबंध आहेत. त्यातून अवणीची हत्या झाल्याचा आरोप निरुपम यांनी केला होता.

तसेच त्यांच्या कार्यकाळात मोठ्या प्रमाणात जंगलकटाई झाल्याचे निरुपम यांनी म्हटल्याचे मुनगंटीवारांचे वकील शुकुल यांनी सांगितले. दरम्यान, निरुपम यांना समन्स जारी करायचे, की नाही यावर न्यायालय आज निर्णय घेणार असल्याचे शुकुल यांनी सांगितले.

Rafale deal: Supreme Court gives clean chit to Modi govt

In a big relief to the Modi government today, the Supreme Court ruled out an investigation into the rafale deal for 36 Rafale fighter jets worth Rs 58,000 crore.

The government has come under fire from the opposition Congress and other parties for allegation of corruption over the pricing details of the Rafale deal.

Opposition parties had raised the issue of corruption in Rafale deal on a war footing in the recently held state elections of Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram and Telangana.

The apex court said there was no reason to doubt the decision-making process in the multi-billion dollar Rafale deal. A bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said there has been a necessity of fighter aircraft and the country cannot remain without these jets.

The CJI, who read out the judgement for the three-judge bench, said no reasons were found to interfere in the procurement process for the fighter jets. The top court said it is not the job of the court to deal with the comparative details of the pricing.

Abhishek Bachchan to Star in Amazon Prime’s ‘Breathe 2’

लॉटरी व्यावसायिकाची नौकराकडून ३४ लाखांची फसवणूक

नागपूर : लॉटरी व्यावसायिकाकडे काम करीत असलेल्या एका नोकराने त्याला तब्बल साडे ३४ लाख रुपयांचा चुना लावल्याची घटना समोर आली आहे. सिराज रमजान शेख (वय ४६, रा. सोमवारी क्वार्टर) असे या लॉटरी व्यावसायिकाचे तर नसिम मिर्झा बेग (वय ४५,रा. भुतीया दरवाजा) असे या आरोपीचे नाव आहे.

सिराज आणि नसिम यांचे घरगुती सबंध असून तो त्यांच्याकडे कामसुद्धा करीत होता. घटना २८ नोव्हेंबर रोजी घडली. सिराज कामानिमीत्त कोलकाता येथे असल्याने त्यांनी नसिम याला फोन करून अवकाश जैन यांचे घरी जावून त्यांचेकडे ठेवलेले ३४ लाख ५२ हजार १०० रुपयांची रोख रक्कम घेवून सिराज यांचा भाऊ फिर्यादीचा मकबूल शेख यांच्याकडे देण्यास सांगितले. नसिमने अवकाश जैन यांच्याकडून पैसे घेतले. परंतु ते फिर्यादीच्या भावाकडे दिले नाही.

सिराजने विचारपूस केली असता त्यांनी सांगितले की त्यांना रेशीमबाग ग्राऊंडच्या गेटसमोर चक्कर आल्याने ते बेशुद्ध झाले. त्यानंतर बॅगमधील रक्कम गायब झाली होती. त्यानंतर नसीम फरार असल्याचे समजते. याप्रकरणी कोतवाली पोलिसांनी सिराज यांच्या तक्रारीच्या आधारावर गुन्हा दाखल करून तपास सुरू केला आहे.

Juvenile exploits 7 year old boy

Nagpur : A seven-year-old boy was allegedly exploited by his 11-year-old neighbour in the bathroom of his house over the last five days between December 7 and 12 in Kalamna.

The juvenile has been booked by Kalamna police station for unnatural sex under section 377 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO).

According to the cops, the survivor and the juvenile reside close to each other. The juvenile, who hails from Bihar, lives with his maternal uncle and works in a bakery. On December 12, when the survivor was taking bath, the juvenile sneaked inside his bathroom and allegedly exploited him.

The survivor did not tell anyone about the incident out of fear. The juvenile continued the heinous act for five days. On Wednesday, the survivor’s mother saw him disturbed, and after taking him into confidence, asked him about the change in his behaviour.

The frightened survivor narrated to his mother how he was being exploited by the juvenile. The mother-son duo approached Kalamna police station on Thursday where a case of abuse was registered.

नागपूर : नागपूर शहराचे एकेकाळचे वैभव असलेल्या नाग नदीच्या पुनरूज्जीवनासाठी फ्रान्स डेव्हलपमेंट एजन्सी (एएफडी)ने पुढाकार घेतला आहे. एएफडीने नाग नदीच्या दर्शनी भागाच्या सौंदर्यीकरण प्रकल्पाचा बृहत्‌ आराखडा नुकताच नागपूर महानगरपालिकेचे आयुक्त अभिजीत बांगर यांच्याकडे सुपूर्द केला.

नागपूर महानगरपालिकेने पर्यावरण संवर्धनाच्या दृष्टीकोनातून नद्यांच्या संबंधात दोन प्रकल्प हाती घेतलेले आहे. पहिला प्रकल्प नाग नदी प्रदूषण निर्मूलन तर दुसरा प्रकल्प नाग नदीच्या दर्शनी भागाचे सौंदर्यीकरण या संबंधी आहे. नाग नदीमध्ये वाहणारे सांडपाणी थांबवून त्यावर प्रक्रिया करून नदीमध्ये पुन्हा सोडणे तसेच उत्तर सिवरेज झोन व मध्य सिवरेज झोन अंतर्गत सांडपाण्याची निर्मिती व निस्सारण संबंधित पहिला प्रकल्प असून यासाठी केंद्र शासनाद्वारे मंजुरी प्रदान करण्यात आली आहे. याशिवाय वित्तीय व्यवस्थापनाकरिता जिका (जापान) संस्थेद्वारे राज्य व केंद्र शासनाला वित्तीय मदत मंजुरी प्राप्त आहे. या प्रकल्पाची मंजूर किंमत १२५२.३३ मृदू कर्ज स्वरूपात आहे.

दुसरा प्रकल्प ‘नाग नदी दर्शनी भागाचे सौंदर्यीकरणा’चा आहे. फ्रान्स डेव्हलपमेंट एजन्सी (एएफडी) यांनी देशातील तीन शहरांची निवड केलेली आहे. यामध्ये चंदीगड, पॉण्डीचेरी व नागपूरचा समावेश आहे. नागपूर करीता ‘नाग नदी दर्शनी भागाचे सौंदर्यीकरण’ प्रकल्पाकरीता बृहत्‌ आराखडा प्रकल्प अहवाल व तांत्रिक मदत मोफत देण्याकरीता निवड केलेली आहे. प्रकल्प राबविण्यासाठी वित्तीय मदत फ्रान्सकडून मिळविण्यास संमती देण्यात आली आहे.

या संदर्भात १० ते १३ डिसेंबर दरम्यान एएफडी चमूने नागपूर महानगरपालिकेला भेट दिली. शहरातील वनामती येथे प्रकल्पासंबंधी तीन दिवसीय कार्यशाळा आयोजित करण्यात आली. कार्यशाळेमध्ये नागपूर महानगरपालिका, महामेट्रो, व्ही.एन.आय.टी., नीरी, सामाजिक संस्था, नागपूर सुधार प्रन्यास, वन विभाग, कृषी विद्यापीठ, स्मार्ट सिटी, एन.ई.एस.एल. व इतर भागधारक यांना आमंत्रित करण्यात आले. प्रकल्पाची वेगवेगळ्या स्तरावर गट तयार करून चर्चा करण्यात आली. पूर व्यवस्थापन, गतीशिलता, पुनर्वसन, जैव विविधता, पर्यावरण व वेगवेगळ्या विभागाचे समन्वयन याबाबत चर्चा करून प्रकल्पांतर्गत करण्यात आलेल्या कामाचे प्राधान्य ठरविण्यात आले.

यावेळी बृहत्‌ आराखडा (मास्टर प्लान) मनपा आयुक्त अभिजीत बांगर यांना सादर करण्यात आला. मनपा नदी चमू प्रमुख व मनपा तांत्रिक सल्लागार मो. इसराईल यांनी कार्यशाळेचे समन्वयन केले. चमूचे अधिकारी नदी व सरोवरे प्रकल्प अधिकारी मो. शफीक, संदीप लोखंडे, श्री. जीवतोडे, डॉ. प्रणिता उमरेडकर यांनी कार्यशाळेच्या यशस्वीतेकरीता सहकार्य केले. मनपा आयुक्त अभिजीत बांगर, अतिरिक्त आयुक्त रवींद्र ठाकरे, राम जोशी, अझीझ शेख, उपायुक्त राजेश मोहिते यांनी प्रामुख्याने कार्यशाळेमध्ये सहभाग घेतला. एएफडी फ्रान्सचे गॉटीएर कोहलेर (Mr. Gautier Kohler), एएफडी दिल्लीच्या व्‍हॅलेन्टाइन लेनफन्ट (Ms. Valentine Lenfant), सिबीला जान्सिक, पी.के. दास असोसिएशनचे समर्थ दास (Mr. Samarth Das), मिसाका हेत्तीयारच्ची (Mr. Missaka Hettiarchchi), प्रियंका जैन (Ms. Priyanka Jain), ब्लेंझ वारलेट (Blanche Varlet) यांनी कार्यशाळेचे संचालन करून पुढील काळातील नियोजनाबाबत मनपा अधिकाऱ्यांशी चर्चा केली. प्रकल्पाची राशी अंदाजे १६०० कोटी एवढी आहे.

Now cops bust car sex racket in Nagpur

Nagpur : The special zonal squad of Harssh Poddar on Tuesday busted the first ‘mobile’ sex racket in the city by arresting two alleged pimps operating in a tourist car. A 21-year-old woman, student of second year in arts stream, was rescued during the operation at a brick kiln at Deepak Nagar Jaripatka on the outskirts of the city.

The arrest of Yogesh Sahu and Rahul Gaute for the sex trade in car also brought to fore the new trend of pimps preferring vehicles rather than apartments to avoid police raids. Though the racket was busted in the northern fringes of the city, it’sreliably learnt that such rackets are common in West Nagpur and elsewhere.

Young women, especially high school and college-going ones, are drawn into these rackets for fast money. A senior police official said young women are getting lured into the flesh trade for quick cash to sponsor addictions, costly mobile branded clothes and accessories. In the latest case, the special squad managed to zero down upon Sahu and Gaute following an input.

The squad, led by PI Dilip Landge, API Omprakash Sontakke and PSI Jeetendra Thakur,had sent a decoy customer to lay the trap. The undercover customer had to hand over cash Rs1,000 to get access to the survivor, who was in the car. The woman rescued has claimed that she had accompanied the two in a car to many places in the city to cater to clients. Sources in the police said the racketeers, who had been active in the trade for last few months, would push back the front passenger seat to make a bed for the customer.

The two pimps would wait outside keeping vigil. The pimps would park the car at desolate places to ensure no one objected to the goings on. When they were nabbed, Sahu and Gaute had parked the car behind a stack of bricks at a kiln at Deepak Nagar. This had been the spot chosen by the two for the last few days. Police also found several used condoms discarded near the place.

PI Landge of Jaripatka police station, where the offence was registered, said he had sought four days custody but the court sent the two to magisterial custody. “Sahu claimed he had hired the car for a month but we need to ascertain the ownership of the vehicle,” he said.

नागपूर : सिग्नल सोडून वाहतूक पोलीस भ्रमणध्वनीवर व्यस्त

नागपूर : शहरातील विविध मार्गाच्या सिग्नलवर वाहतूक पोलीस वाहतूक सांभाळण्याऐवजी कोपऱ्यात कुठेतरी बसून मोबाईलवर व्यस्त असतात, याकडे लक्ष वेधत उच्च न्यायालयाच्या न्यायमूर्तीनी थेट पोलीस आयुक्तांना निबंधकांमार्फत पत्र पाठवून तातडीने कारवाई करण्याचे आदेश दिले. या पत्रानंतरही रस्त्यावरील परिस्थिती न बदलल्याने उच्च न्यायालयाच्या नागपूर खंडपीठाने आज बुधवारी पोलीस आयुक्तांना शेवटची संधी दिली आहे.

काहीच बदल दिसला नाही तर उच्च न्यायालय स्वत: आदेश पारित करेल, असे न्या. रवि देशपांडे आणि न्या. विनय जोशी यांनी स्पष्ट केले. शहरातील वाहतूक समस्या सोडवण्यासंदर्भात उच्च न्यायालयात दाखल जनहित याचिकेवर सुनावणीवेळी न्यायालयाने वरील आदेश दिले. या याचिकेवर मंगळवारी विभागीय आयुक्तांनी प्रतिज्ञापत्र दाखल केले. वाहतळाची व्यवस्था करण्यासाठी २० शिकवणी वर्गावर दंडात्मक कारवाई करण्यात आली. त्याशिवाय वाहनतळाची व्यवस्था नसणाऱ्या व रस्त्यावर वाहने उभे करणाऱ्या १२७ शिक्षण संस्थांना वाहतूक पोलिसांनी नोटीस बजावली आहे. शहरातील ७०० चौकात ३ हजार ९१२ सीसीटीव्ही कॅमेरे बसवण्याचे प्रस्तावित असून ३ हजार ६८२ बसवण्यात आले आहेत. त्यापैकी ३ हजार ३७८ कॅमेरे कार्यान्वित असून मेट्रो रेल्वे, राष्ट्रीय महामार्ग प्राधिकरण आणि सार्वजनिक बांधकाम विभागाच्या विकास कामांमुळे ३०४ कॅमेरे काढण्यात आल्याची माहिती प्रतिज्ञापत्रात नमूद आहे.

न्यायालयाने रस्त्यांवर अनेक चौकांमध्ये सिग्नल बंद असताना वाहतूक पोलीस वाहतूक व्यवस्था सांभाळताना दिसत नाही. ते आपली चौकी सोडून कुठेतरी कोपऱ्यात दुचाकीवर बसून मोबाईलवर व्यस्त दिसतात. त्यासंदर्भात ३ ऑक्टोबर आणि २२ नोव्हेंबरला पोलीस आयुक्तांना पत्र लिहून कळवण्यात आले आहे. पण, चौकांमधील पोलिसांच्या परिस्थितीत काही बदल झालेला दिसत नाही. त्यामुळे पोलीस आयुक्तांना कारवाईसाठी शेवटची संधी प्रदान करण्यात येत आहे. अन्यथा उच्च न्यायालय आपल्या पद्धतीने आदेश पारित करेल, असा आदेश दिला. न्यायालयीन मित्र म्हणून अ‍ॅड. श्रीरंग भांडारकर आणि महापालिकेतर्फे अ‍ॅड. सुधीर पुराणिक यांनी बाजू मांडली. वाहतूक पोलीस निरीक्षक जयेश भांडारकर न्यायालयात उपस्थित होते.

Interpol Arrest Warrant Against Fugitive Mehul Choksi

New Delhi : Global police body Interpol issued a red corner notice against fugitive offender Mehul Choksi, wanted in the 13,000-crore bank fraud case, on Thursday. The Interpol arrest warrant came on a CBI request.

The CBI and Enforcement Directorate (ED) had filed a charge sheet against him in a Mumbai court. Authorities in Antigua are now likely to trace him and inform India. Mr Choksi’s movements will be tracked and he won’t be allowed to leave the country.

The 59-year-old had left India in January for medical treatment in the US. Mr Choksi was last traced to Antigua, where he has been granted citizenship. He had taken the oath of allegiance as a citizen of Antigua on January 15 and just days later, on January 29, the CBI filed a case and started investigating Mr Choksi and Nirav Modi. Sources say, the Interpol had issued the notice against Mr Choksi about a fortnight ago after a decision was taken by the Commission for the Control of Interpol Files in a meeting in October.

Last month, Mr Choksi’s lawyer told the investigating agencies that he is not in a position to record his statement. “If his condition gets better” Mr Choksi may return to India, the lawyer had said. In July, the Interpol had issued a similar notice against Nirav Modi, the main accused in the bank fraud cases.

Mr Choksi and his nephew, celebrity jeweller Nirav Modi, are being sought by multiple investigating agencies after it was revealed that the two extracted crores in loans from banks abroad on the basis of fake guarantees in the name of Punjab National Bank, India’s second largest state-owned bank. India is eyeing to bring back Mr Choksi from Antigua under the provision of a law of the island nation, which provides for extradition of a fugitive to a designated Commonwealth country, official sources said.

The government issued a gazette notification on August 3 to make the Antiguan law enforceable and bring back Mr Choksi. India and Antigua do not have a bilateral extradition pact.

Kannada film KGF (Kolar Gold Fields), directed by Prashanth Neel, stars Yash and Srinidhi Shetty in the lead roles. The film’s trailer was unveiled recently and fans from across the world are going gaga over the fim’s stunning visuals.

The song featuring Mouni Roy is a remake of superhit number of the same name in 1989 film Tridev. It was voiced by Manhar Udhas and Alka Yagnik.

Today, the makers of KGF released a video song titled Gali Gali, which has Mouni Roy grooving to it. Her sensuous dance moves are an instant hit among audience and she has literally set the stage on fire with her looks. The song, composed by Tanishk Bagchi, is crooned by Neha Kakkar. KGF is being made as a two-part film. The period film set in the 70s will trace the life of Rocky (Yash) who grew up on the streets of Mumbai.

The first instalment of KGF will see Rocky’s rise as a gangster who controls the Kolar Gold Fields. The gangster-drama, which was primarily shot in Kannada, will release in other South Indian languages namely Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi.

Kannada’s most expensive film KGF will release in five languages on December 21.

मेट्रो प्रकल्पातील रिच-३ चे शेवटचे फाउंडेशन पार पडले

नागपूर : नागपूरमेट्रो प्रकल्पाचा भाग असलेल्या रिच-३ अंतर्गत शेवटच्या फॉउंडेशनचे काम क्रेझी कॅसल येथे करण्यात आले. महामेट्रो चे व्यवस्थापकीय संचालक डॉ ब्रिजेश दीक्षित यांच्या हस्ते या कामाची सुरुवात करण्यात आली. लोकमान्य नगर ते झाशी राणी चौकादरम्यान एकूण १० स्टेशन असून १०.४ किलो मीटरचा उन्नती मार्ग आहे. या अनुषंगाने एकूण ५५८ पाइल्स, ३५६० सेगमेंट उभारले जाणार आहे. या रिच मधील कामाकरता एकूण ६०,००० मेट्रिक टन सिमेंट, २८,००० मेट्रिक टन स्टील, १,७०,००० मेट्रिक टन रेतीचा वापर होणार आहे. सुमारे १,८०० कामगार या रिचमध्ये विविध कामांकरिता दिवसरात्र तैनात आहेत. पुढील कामास सुरवात करण्यात आली.

Illegal abortion kits seized from drug stores in Nagpur, Nashik

In What may be a pointer to rampant and easy availability of medical termination of pregnancy (MTP) kits, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) registered an FIR against chemist shops in two districts for illegally selling such kits.

The two cases, in Nagpur and Nashik, are under investigation to trace the consumers and suppliers. According to Rakesh Tirpude, Nagpur FDA’s joint commissioner (drugs), Swati Bharde, drug inspector, visited Alfa Medicos on December 4 posing as a customer to buy an MTP kit.

The kit sold to her without a prescription consisted of four misoprostol, to be administered vaginally, and one mifepristone tablet, taken orally. “The expiry and batch details on kit had been concealed,” Tirpude said.

The FDA issued notice to the chemist and registered a case with Kamptee police station, Nagpur, on December 6. Sale of MTP kits is prohibited without a doctor’s prescription or guidance.

The side-effects may include bleeding, nausea or infection. In March, the Maharashtra State Chemists and Druggists’ Association had written to the FDA drawing attention towards illegal sale through online pharma portals without prescription.

Earlier this year, the FDA seized 18 MTP kits in Satara. In 2017, similar seizures were carried in Hingoli’s Sengaon region.

In a second case in Nashik, five MTP kits were seized following a tip-off. A case has been registered against chemist shop worker Swapnil Deshmukh, Ramesh Pagare, Vikas Chaudhary and chemist shop Sairaj Medical.

Assistant commissioner (drugs) DM Bhamre said one kit has been sent for laboratory testing. The kits, with a maximum retail price of Rs 500, were being sold at Rs 1,500 to 3,000.

“We found that Deshmukh worked with Sudha Medical, and without the knowledge of the owner, he sold abortion kits. He coordinated with Sairaj Medical where Vikas and Ramesh also work,” said Pravin Mundada, assistant commissioner (drugs), Nashik. On December 7, a FIR was registered with Sarkarwada police station under sections of IPC and Drugs and Cosmetics Act.

Supreme Court issues notice to CM Devendra Fadnavis over alleged non-disclosure in affidavit

The Supreme Court on Thursday issued a notice to Maharashtra chief minister Devender Fadnavis on a petition seeking his disqualification as a legislator for not disclosing two criminal cases pending against him.

The petition, filed by advocate Satish Ukey, alleges that Fadnavis had cases of cheating and defamation pending against him, which he did not disclose in his 2014 affidavit.

Ukey had earlier filed a petition in the court of Judicial Magistrate in Nagpur but it was dismissed. He then approached the Sessions Court, which directed the Judicial Magistrate to reconsider its decision.

On this, Fadnavis challenged the Sessions Court decision in Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court, which dismissed the case by upholding the Judicial Magistrate’s decision. Ukey then challenged the High Court’s decision in the Supreme Court.

with a joint initiative of The Blind Relief Association Nagpur (TBRAN), Samadrishti Kshamata Vikas Evam Anusandhan Mandal (SAKSHAM) and Rotary Club of nagpur Downtown, a unique centre is being dedicated to all visually impaired people in nagpur.

TBRAN is providing its premises for this special project, SAKSHAM is going to provide the technology and volunteers to run the same and ROTATY CLUB OF NAGPUR DOWNTOWN is funding this one of its kind projects in India.

Through thier earlier joint projects Braille and E-Books creation centres above three orgnizations are already producing books jointly in different formats for visually challenged people. The books of all the academic standards including nursery to post Graduation, competitive exams, different entrance exams, Literature including novels, Story books, poetry and allother genres are have so far been produced and more are being undertaken.

All this material, through all the related equipment and machinery, for all the age groups of visually challenged giving access to all knowledge. Such a copmrehensive setup is uniquely equipped with some special devices for blind, like ABRAR ( designed by SAKSHAM) and BRAILLE- ME (designed by Innovisiontech of bengaluru), Taking computers and Low Vision devices. This makes the centre unique in our country.

This special study centre will also provide facility to blind students, teachers and professionals to get their braille material printed in to sighted script if required. The visually challenged can also have access to treasure of books available on the internet.

The study centre will be inaugurated at the hands of Rotary Governor (District 3030) Rajiv sharma on 14 december 2018, Friday, At 11.00 in the Blind School, The Blind Relief Association of Nagpur, South Ambazari Road, Nagpur.

India vs Australia : R Ashwin, Rohit Sharma and Prithvi Shaw ruled out with injuries

Team India suffered massive injury blows as spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and batsman Rohit Sharma have been ruled out of the second Test against Australia in Perth starting Friday. India confirmed on Thursday that Ashwin had suffered a left-side abdominal strain, while Rohit jarred his back in the field during the first Test. Moreover, opener Prithvi Shaw is yet to recover from an ankle injury. With the trio unavailable for selection, India included Hanuma Vihari, Ravindra Jadeja, Umesh Yadav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar in a 13-man squad announced on eve of the second Test.

“Prithvi Shaw is recovering well from his left ankle injury but still undergoing treatment. R Ashwin has a left-sided abdominal strain. He is receiving treatment at the moment. Rohit Sharma jarred his lower back while fielding in the 1st Test at Adelaide. He is undergoing treatment. He too is ruled out of the second Test,” statement from the BCCI.

“The team management is closely monitoring these players and a call on their availability for the third Test will be taken at an appropriate time,” it added.

Ashwin’s unavailability is a big loss as he had taken a six-wicket haul at Adelaide to help India record their first win in a series opener in Australia.

Railway Station Road makeover DPR ready; two squares to be redesigned

Nagpur: The detailed project report (DPR) of Nagpur Railway Station Road makeover is ready and the cost is Rs 232 crore. Tenders for re-engineering of Manas Square and Jaistambh Square and demolition of station road flyover have been floated.

The re-engineering work will begin shortly. Providing details of the project, MahaMetro director (project) Mahesh Kumar said the land belonging to Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC), Madhya Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (MPSRTC) Central Railways and revenue department will be acquired.

“All the 172 shopkeepers under the station road flyover will be provided shops on the ground floor in a five-storied building. The first and second floor will have parking for 400 cars and 400 two-wheelers. The top two floors will have more shops, budget hotels, etc,” he added.

The parking will be connected to the railway station by a foot overbridge. The people coming to the ground floor shops will also park their vehicles there. “We will start with re-engineering of Manas Square and Jaistambh Square. A proposal has been submitted to Central Railways for construction of another railway underbridge (RUB) beside Loha Pul,”

Kumar further said. Kumar made it clear that the flyover will be demolished only after the land for rehabilitating the shopkeepers had been acquired. He refused to give a time frame for completion of the project, saying that it would depend on land acquisition. MahaMetro also needs defence land for widening the station road.

The flyover will be demolished and replaced by a six-lane road. A flyover will constructed on Kingsway so that people using the Ramjhula do not face traffic congestion. A road will be built under the flyover so that Ramjhula users can reach the railway station.

Nagpur : Bhonsala Military School Nagpur in association with Chitnavis Centre is organising a talk on “Radicalisation in Kashmir Valley: New Challenges” by Major Gaurav Arya on 15 Dec 18 at 6:30 pm at Chitnavis Centre, Civil Lines, Nagpur.

Major Gaurav Arya, an alumnus of prestigious St Stephen College, New Delhi commissioned into the elite infantry battalion of 17 Kumaon in March 1994. During his stint with the Indian army he saw active service in counter-insurgency operation in the north-eastern and northern sectors of Indian peninsula.

Kashmir has always been on enigma in the minds of generations of independent India. For the past we two decades or so, we Indians have been hearing some news or the other on daily basis on the national print and electronic media. We are commonly confused about the political alignments, role of non-state actors and as to why the successive Central Govt of India are not able to diffuse the situation. There are in fact more myths than realities that we common citizens are aware of Hence, our school management, in collaboration with Chitnavis Centre, Nagpur decided to invite Maj Gaurav Arya, a speaker of international repute of India’s Defence and Strategic Affairs to throw light on the current situation in the valley, the emerging new challenges and options available to diffuse the situation if any.

For this event, we have invited officers from Armed forces, local Administration, Police, Judiciary other intellectual strata from varied fields including the common public.

नागपूर : नागपूर मेट्रो च्या शिरपेचात आणखी एक मानाचा तुरा आज दि. १२ डिसेंबर १८ बुधवार रोजी खोवला गेला. प्रथम टप्प्यातल्या रिच-१ मध्ये सुरु असलेल्या उन्नती मार्गाच्या शेवटच्या सेगमेंटचे लॉन्चिंग आज करण्यात आले. वर्धा मार्गावरील डबल डेकर पुलावर जयप्रकाश नगर मेट्रोस्टेशन जवळ हे शेवटचे सेगमेंट बसवण्यात आले. महामेट्रोचे व्यवस्थापकीय संचालक मा. ब्रिजेश दीक्षित यांच्या हस्ते लौंचिंगचा सोहळा पार पडला. यावेळी महामेट्रो नागपूरचे वरिष्ठ अधिकारी आणि कर्मचारी उपस्थित होते. आश्यापद्धतीने रिच-१ च्या उन्नती मार्गाचे कार्य आज संपुष्टात आले असून आता पुढील कार्यास सुरुवात होईल.

Vidarbh-level women’s football tournament in Nagpur from Dec 14

JSW Elite Division Football Tournament from Nov 12

Nagpur : Nagpur’s Amma Football Club is organising a Vidarbh-level women’s football tournament in memory of Late Leena Paul from December 14 to 17.

The tournament, being organised in association with Nagpur District Football Association (NDFA), will be held at DSA Ground of Ajni railway quarters in Ajni. In the floodlight tournament, 7 A side matches will be played.

Addressing a press conference at SJAN on Wednesday, the office-bearers of Amma Football Club said that on the first day, a match between Nagsevan and Shakti Girls Krida Vikas will be played.

The inauguration will be graced by Girish Pandav, corporator Praful Gudadhe Patil, DCP Nilesh Bharne, Chairman of NMC’s Sports and culture committee Nagesh Sahare and others.

25 teams will be participating in the tournament. The winning team will be given Rs. 15,000 in cash, medals and track suits. The runner up will get Rs. 10,000 in cash and medals. Other players will also receive consolation prizes. The tournament will conclude on December 20.

महापौर आपल्या दारी : लकडगंज मधील झोन समस्या जाणून घेतल्या

नागपूर : प्रभागातील नागरिकांना मुलभूत गरजा मिळणे हा त्यांचा नैतिक अधिकार आहे. नागरिकांना पाणी, रस्ते, स्वच्छता या सर्व मुलभूत सुविधा देण्यास मनपा कटिबद्ध आहे. मी स्वतः त्याचा पाठपुरावा करून नागरिकांना सर्व सुविधा मिळवून देण्याचा प्रयत्न करीन, असा विश्वास महापौर नंदा जिचकार यांनी दिला.

महापौरांनी नागपूर शहरातील नागरिकांच्या झोननिहाय समस्या जाणून घेण्यासाठी महापौर आपल्या दारी हा उपक्रम सुरू केला आहे. याअंतर्गत मंगळवारी महापौर नंदा जिचकार यांनी लकडगंज झोनमधील प्रभाग क्रमांक ४ व २३ मधील नागरिकांशी भेट घेऊन तेथील समस्या जाणून घेतल्या.

यावेळी लकडगंज झोन सभापती दीपक वाडीभस्मे, वैद्यकीय सेवा व आरोग्य समिती सभापती मनोज चापले, रा.काँ गट नेते दुनेश्वर पेठे, नगरसेविका निरंजना पाटील, मनिषा अतकरे, मनिषा धावडे, नगरसेवक राजकुमार साहू, शेषराव गोतमारे, अतिरिक्त आयुक्त राम जोशी, सहायक आयुक्त विजय हुमने, सुभाष जयदेव प्रामुख्याने उपस्थित होते. प्रारंभी महापौर नंदा जिचकार यांनी झोनमधील प्रत्येक विभागात जाऊन पाहणी केली.

झोन कार्यालयातील समाजकल्याण विभागात अधिकारी उपस्थित नसल्यामुळे त्यांना कारणे दाखवा नोटीस बजावण्याचे निर्देश सहायक आयुक्तांना दिले. याचवेळी त्यांनी मालमत्ता व पाणी कर वसुलीसंदर्भात संबंधित अधिकारी-कर्मचाऱ्यांकडून आढावा घेतला. करवसुलीचा वेग वाढवा आणि १०० टक्के उद्दिष्ट गाठा, असे निर्देश त्यांनी यावेळी दिले. त्यानंतर त्यांनी कळमना येथील नवनिर्मित जलकुंभ परिसाराला भेट दिली. तेथील नागरिकांशी संवाद साधला. त्याठिकाणी पाण्याचा समस्या मोठ्या प्रमाणावर होत्या. सहा महिन्याच्या आत पाण्याच्या सर्व समस्या सोडविण्यात येतील, असे आश्वासन महापौर नंदा जिचकार यांनी दिले.

कचरा गाडी नियमित येत नाही, अशी तक्रार केली असता संबंधित स्वास्थ निरिक्षकाला महापौर नंदा जिचकार यांनी जाब विचारत कचऱ्यासंबंधी समस्या लवकरात लवकर सोडविण्यात याव्यात, अन्यथा कडक कारवाई करू, असा इशारा महापौर नंदा जिचकार यांनी दिला.
