Maharashtra BJP MLA Nitesh Rane demands anti-conversion law to protect Hindu women, presents ‘rate card’

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Nitesh Rane has demanded an anti-conversion law in Maharashtra citing alleged religious conversion of Hindu women.
The BJP lawmaker alleged that in the pretext of religious conversion, atrocities were committed against a woman in Ahmednagar. Rane claimed that such things are happening especially against Hindu women and after doing Nikah with these women they are abducted and sold.
Money is paid to these people who indulge in such illegal practices. There is a rate card. Many cases of illegal religious conversions, Rane alleged.
Nitesh, the son of Union MSME Minister Narayan Rane, presented a rate card of religious conversion and alleged that the Hindu girls are tricked and converted.
The BJP MLA raised the issue while referring to an incident of an alleged conversion of a Marathi girl in Ahmednagar.
Rane said that Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has assured to introduce an anti-conversion law in the state.
The BJP leader had demanded anti-conversion law in Maharashtra like in Uttar-Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
He had made the demand after Eknath Shinde formed the government in Maharashtra with the support of the BJP.

The BJP governments in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Gujarat have already passed strict anti-conversion law.
