Coaching Federation of India inks pact with various education organisation in Maharashtra

Aims to thrive for the betterment of crores of educators across India

Nagpur August 2021: In order to address the various issues of the coaching industry, the Coaching Federation of India (Regd.) has joined hands with all the six organizations of Maharashtra namely Professional Teachers Association (PTA) – Maharashtra, Maharashtra Class Owners’ Association (MCOA) – Mumbai, CCPA – Thane, Association of Coaching Institutes (ACI) – Nagpur, Association of Coaching Class Owners & Mentors (ACCOM) – Mumbai and Coaching Classes Association (CCA) – Aurangabad. An MoU was signed between CFI and the organizations aiming for the betterment of the coaching fraternity of India. Pertaining to the furtherment of the situation, a detailed meeting was held today where among the long list of dignitaries present included Mr. Alok Dixit General Secretary of Coaching Federation of India New Delhi, PTA President Mr. Vijayrao Pawar, Founder President Reverend Mr. Pravin Thakur, Former General Secretary Dr.  P.  Kulkarni, former working president Mr. Ravi Shitole, etc. among many others.

“The current GST slab rate of 18% is a service tax for the luxury class while education is an essential service. This leads to a huge financial burden for more than 95% of the students/parents. CFI shall apply to the Government reduce the GST to 5% slab in the interest of students/parents and academicians.” Said Alok Dixit, General Secretary, Coaching Federation of India.

The meeting also highlighted a felicitation ceremony where the Founding President of PTA (Praveen Thakur Saran) was appointed as the National Patron in CFI and the Former General Secretary of PTA (Dr. P Kulkarni) was appointed as the head of CFI’s Brainstorming Committee for his four-pronged contribution in the field of education. “While it is known that the COVID pandemic has given a big jolt to the coaching industry and made the survival of over one crore educators at stake. There are more than 7.25 lakh registered coaching institutes in the country and more than 50 lakh coaching teachers and other employees associated with them.  Also, there are more than 1 crore educated persons who depend on private tuitions for their livelihood. To put things in perspective, there are more than 5 crore Indian citizens who are directly or indirectly dependent on this industry.” He Added
