India has added 17,070 new coronavirus infections , bringing the total number of cases of Covid-19 at 4,34,69,234 and active cases rose to 1,071,189 according to Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday.
The death toll rose to 5,25,139 and included 23 deaths added according to the updated data at 8 am said. The active cases account for 0.25 percent of total infections, whereas the recovery rate of COVID-19 in the country was 98.55 percent The ministry stated.
The rate of positivity for the day was recorded as 3.40 per cent , and the weekly rate of positivity was 3.59 percent according to the ministry. The number of patients who have recovered from the disease grew to 4,28,369,000, while the fatality rate for cases was recorded as 1.21 percent.
As per the Ministry of Health, 197.74 millions doses Covid vaccine have been given to the nation so far in the national vaccination drive.
The COVID-19 total of India was at 20 lakh on the 7th of August 2020, 30, million on 23 August forty lakhs on the 5th of September, and fifty lakh by September 16. It crossed 60 lakh on the 28th of September and 70 lakh on the 11th of October 11, surpassed 80 lakh on the 29th of October 90 lakh on the 20th of November and crossed by one crore the 19th of December.
