Nagpur: The ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine has started showing effect as domestic cooking gas (LPG) price on Tuesday was hiked by Rs 50 per cylinder in line with a spike in international energy prices.
Meanwhile, petrol and diesel prices were raised by over 80 paise a litre on Tuesday after a status quo on rates for 137 days, reports said.
In Nagpur, petrol price will now be Rs 110.53 per litre with the hike of 85 paise as on date. Till Monday, March 21, the petrol rate in the city was Rs 109.68.
Similarly, with the hike of 84 paise per litre, diesel rate in Nagpur will be Rs 93.35 per litre. The rate earlier was Rs 92.51.
This is the first increase in LPG rates since early October.
Prices have been on a freeze since then despite the cost of raw material spiralling. Reports said a 5 KG LPG cylinder will now cost Rs 349 while the 10 kg composite bottle will come for Rs 669.
The 19-kg commercial cylinder now costs Rs 2003.50.
Petrol will now cost Rs 96.21 per litre in Delhi, while you shall have to pay Rs 87.47 per litre for diesel. In Mumbai, petrol will now cost Rs 110.78, while diesel would cost Rs 94.94 per litre.
This was the first fuel price hike since November 2, 2021. The government took a series of duty cuts to keep the fuel rates unaffected despite volatility in the international crude oil market. Crude oil prices have shot up over 25 percent since the last hike in November.
