Nagpur : The stage is set for a mega event of 79th annual conference of Indian Roads Congress (IRC) in Nagpur at Mankapur Sports Stadium from November 22 to 25.
A galaxy of stalwarts in road construction field from country and abroad, policy framers, decision makers, contractors have arrived for the conclave. While the main deliberations are slated to be held in stadium, the slew of important technical sessions, important meetings of IRC Council and that of Highway Research Board would be held in special erected domes.
A visit to the 66 acres campus of sports stadium provides a glimpse of massive preparation that were under way for last one month. Its a feast for eyes, especially during the evening time as decorative lights and the landscaping leaves one spell bound.

A visit to IRC venue lefts you spell bound by the eye catching decoration, aesthetic lighting, beautiful landscaping as Public Works Department (PWD) has pulled out all stops to impress the gathering that would come for the national conference.Moving away from traditions IRC this time has incorporated a session for non professionals, basically researchers, said Nirmal Kumar, Secretary General, IRC, during media interaction on eve of annual conference. We are providing platform to students from IIT, NIT, Ph.D students so as to hear their perspectives and get independent view about our work.
Ulhas Debadwar, Chief Engineer, PWD, and Chairman, Local Organising Committee, underlined importance of IRC saying the outcome from deliberations area adopted at standards by construction industry.
