Nagpur : Two persons including a 14-year-old boy was killed when a speeding Honda City Car crashed into a Maruti Ritz car at Law College Square in the wee hours of Sunday. The deceased have been identified as Anil Premdas Yadav (36) and Harsh Ganesh Yadav (14), both residents of Samadhan Nagar, near Police Line Takli while injured persons are – Mamta Yadav, Sheetal Salame and Priyanka Mhaiskar.
They were travelling in the Maruti Ritz (MH-31/EA-2029). A police officer said the impact of the collision was such that the bonnet of the Honda City car (MH-49/U-2010), in which Animesh Milind Nikhare (21), a resident of Plot No 77, Dattatreya Nagar, Sakkardara, and his four friends, were travelling in was severely mangled. The Honda City car was moving towards Futala in great speed while the Maruti Ritz came from Civil Lines area. Animesh failed to notice the Maruti Ritz and crashed the Honda City into it.
Anil and Harsh, who were sitting at the left side of the Maruti Ritz, sustained grievous injuries as the Honda City hit left side of the car. A large number of onlookers were gathered at the spot and rushed the profusely bleeding persons to the hospital where doctors declared Anil and Harsh brought dead. Condition of Mamta Yadav, Sheetal Yadav and Priyanka Mhaiskar is reportedly normal. Police said that Animesh, a Polytechnic student, was going to Futala with his friends when the accident occurred. Sitabuldi police have registered the case under Sections 279, 304 (a), 337 and 338 of Indian Penal Code.
