RTMNU exams likely from June 1st week, in offline mode

Date:

Nagpur: The RTMNU is likely to conduct summer examinations in offline mode from June first week, say varsity officials.

However, repeated calls and messages to vice-chancellor Subhash Chaudhari, pro-VC Sanjay Dudhe, and exam director Prafulla Sable to get confirmation went unanswered.

Officials told TOI that NU would be holding final-year exams for professional courses like engineering, law, pharmacy and MBA in the first phase and then start papers for the general courses like BA, BCom, BSc, etc.

According to them, NU would conduct emergency meetings of Board of Examinations and Evaluation (BOEE) and Academic Council in the next couple of days and clear the suspense over online/offline impasse.

The VC had already assured state education minister Uday Samant of holding the exams in pen-and-paper format and the exam section had started preparations in this regard.
Barring NU, a majority of the universities, including Amravati, had already announced to hold exams in offline mode despite opposition by students.

Because of the delay, final-year students are the most worried lot, as they are on the verge of missing their internships and joining new companies. Many may also miss the deadline for joining post graduation courses, particularly in foreign universities, the officials said.
