Part of under construction Samruddhi Mahamarg collapsed, no casualties

Date:

Nagpur: A major incident was averted when the under-construction bridge at Pimpalkhuta on the Late Balasaheb Thackeray Samruddhi Mahamarg collapsed on Thursday. Fortunately, all workers were away from the site for lunch so no casualties were reported.

The expressway that runs through Sindkhed raja taluka is currently under construction. On the same route, a 500-meter-long bridge is being erected at Pimpal khuta in Sindkhedraja taluka. Workers were eating lunch near the bridge on Wednesday afternoon when a section of the bridge collapsed unexpectedly.
As a result of the concrete falling on it, the trailer parked there was completely destroyed.

Meanwhile, the workers claimed that quality was being compromised to complete the work soon. They demanded that the bridge should be opened to the public only after a structural audit.
