Construction of Nagpur AIIMS building begins

Nagpur AIIMS

Nagpur: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will begin functioning in city with 300 beds from academic year 2019-20. Though with a slight delay, the building construction of Nagpur AIIMS has begun at its sprawling land in Mihan. It is being constructed by Hospital Service Consultancy Corporation (HSCC). A detailed schedule has been prepared by Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY).
As per the set target, construction of the medical college building will be over by May 2019. As far as hospital is concerned, the out-patient department (OPD) will be ready by August 2018 and 300 beds in-patient department (IPD) by the end of August 2019.

The Union cabinet approved setting up Nagpur AIIMS in the city at a cost of Rs 1577 crore during 2015. Following that, the foundation stone was laid in 2016. The work for comprehensive planning and designing of AIIMS was given to MS Perkins Eastman through a global tender during February 2017. Retd Delhi AIIMS director Dr Mahesh Mishra was appointed the officer on special duty (OSD) for the project in March this year. On April 6, 2017, a Central team headed by Dr Mishra visited the site.

HSSC, the executing agency for the project, has already finished construction of boundary wall while the building construction began recently. The entire construction is supposed to be finished by March 2020. The IPD, OPD, diagnostics, residential facility for staff and doctors and hostel for students will be ready to be used by August 2019. In December of same year–the 300 beds IPD will expand to 600 beds and a trauma centre will be added.
As the construction of its own premises goes on, next major task is to start AIIMS from temporary premises in from Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) campus. As per PMSSY schedule,Nagpur AIIMS should begin functioning from temporary premises in July 2018.

Nagpur: Larsen & Toubro, Tata Projects, Navayuga Engineering, Ircon International, Reliance Infrastructure, IL&FS Transportation are among the 33 bidders for Super Communication Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway.

Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) opened bids for the multi-crore Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) project connecting India’s financial capital with central India last week.

“In all there are 33 bids submitted from over 33 companies. Some of the bids submitted are from joint ventures while a few are by foreign construction firms and most of them are Indian infrastructure companies,” a senior state government official said.

The companies include Gammon Engineers and Contractors Pvt Ltd, CQCE-Roadway Solutions India Private Ltd joint venture, Dilip Buildcon, Gayatri Projects, China Harbour Engineering Company, Oriental Structural Engineers Private Ltd, Sadbhav Engineering, PNC Infratech, Ashoka Buildcon, NCC, Todini Construzioni Generali, Cengiz Insaat Sanayi ve Ticaret AS, Guangdong Guanyue Highway & Bridge Company, Guangdong Provincial Changda Highway Engineering Company are among the other bidders.

The high turnout by Indian companies is because they are focusing on engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects only as public-private partnership projects are going through rough patch.

The bids will be scrutinised by MSRDC over the next one month and depending upon the eligibility on technical specifications shared by these companies, they will be shortlisted for final round of bidding.

The shortlisted companies will be given Request For Proposal (RFP) and 45 days to submit the same following by scrutiny of those bids too before awarding the construction work.

Meanwhile, MSRDC is also working on options to raise debt to foot the bill of Rs 46,000 crore, the estimated project cost. SBI Capital Markets Ltd is helping MSRDC raise the loan amount.

Out of the total cost of the project, cost of civil works is estimated to be Rs 27,650 crore, Rs 13,000 crore for land acquisition and land pooling, Rs 2,500 crore for node development and another Rs 500 crore for utility shifting. Toll will be levied to repay debt.

This 706.2-km greenfield alignment will have 3+1 lanes on either side of the Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway. Ten districts will get connected between Mumbai and Nagpur, as it will pass through Ghoti (near Nashik)-Aurangabad-Amravati.

The project would be undertaken in 16 different packages in order to achieve the ambitious deadline of 2019. The project will be executed in two phases, wherein in the first phase four-laned road will be paved followed by six-laning of the highway.

Along the corridor, 24 townships will also be developed which would need about 10,800 hectare (450 hectare for each node). The state government has already announced land pooling policy to acquire land to develop the ‘Maharashtra Samruddhi Corridor’, wherein 25%-30% of the pooled land will be returned to the owners as ‘developed land’ apart from annual crop loss compensation amount.

Land requirement for the highway alone will be 8,520 hectare, while the wayside amenities would need 1,500 hectare taking the total to 20,820 hectare.

Of this 20,820 hectare, 399 hectare is forest land, 2,922 hectare fallow land and 17,499 hectare agricultural land.

The Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway would have a feature of emergency plane landing option in each revenue division of the state, or on three stretches along the corridor.

Lal krishna Advani to attend RSS Dussehra event in Nagpur

Lal krishna Advani to attend RSS Dussehra

Lal krishna Advani to attend RSS Dussehra

After a gap of many years, veteran BJP leader L K Advani is said to attend the annual Dussehra event of the RSS here on Saturday, indicating rapprochement with the estranged patriarch.

Sources in the RSS said, “Advani has informed that he would attend the programme along with his family. This is after many many years that Advani will be participating in the Dassehra programme.”

Not exactly in the RSS good books since the times of Vajpayee-led NDA government, in which he was Deputy Prime Minister, Advani hasn’t been extended an invitation by the RSS but has himself volunteered to attend, according to sources.

Both Advani and Vajpayee were severely criticised by former Sarsanghchalak K S Sudarshan in 2004 when they were in power and were even asked by the latter to step down to make way for young blood. Senior RSS leaders were upset with the duo for not “caring enough for Hindutva”.

A senior functionary said, “the turning point in the RSS-Advani relationship was when four RSS pracharaks were abducted from Tripura and killed in Bangladesh during the NDA-I tenure. The RSS was angry that despite being the Home Minister, Advani had done little to secure the release of the four pracharaks, whose whereabouts were informed by the RSS to him. Advani hailing Pakistan founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah as truly secular had come later and only aggravated the strain in relationship. The killing of pracharaks, however, continued to be the main thorn in the relationship.”

Asked about the significance of Advani’s return to RSS headquarter, the functionary said, “nothing much should be read into it, especially politically, since Advani is clearly out of political reckoning. It’s possibly just a feeling of repentance that is bringing him here.”

The RSS has invited Dalit religious leader Nirmaldas Maharaj from Punjab as chief guest for the Dussehra function, where the RSS chief delivers the all-important policy speech for the entire Sangh Parivar. Nirmaldas heads the Siriguru Sadhu Ravidas Sampardai Society working among Dalits. According to sources, “invite to Nirmaldas has to do with his work to prevent conversion.”

Dalits flock to Nagpur by thousands to attend the annual Dhammachakra Pravartan Din programme to commemorate conversion to Buddhism by Babasaheb Ambedkar along with lakhs of his supporters. RSS invite to a Dalit Hindu seer assumes significance against the backdrop of the Dhamma day.

Stampede at Elphinstone railway station in Mumbai

At least 22 people were killed and over 30 others injured in a stampede at Elphinstone railway station in Mumbai on Friday.

The incident took place at around 10:30 am due to a heavy crowd at the foot-over bridge after rains.

The stampede broke out around 10.30 am near a ticket window on the bridge between the busy Parel and Elphinstone Road stations. According to witnesses, four trains came at the same time and due to the rain, a few commuters slipped, which led to chaos in the surging crowd. There were more than the usual people on the bridge at the time, waiting for the rain to end.

“Many were waiting in the rain. There were too many people in a cramped space. When people were trying to rush to their trains, the stampede happened,” said railway spokesperson.

The Western Railways in a series of tweets said that the accident relief medical team is at the spot and medical assistance is being provided to injured.

“Senior Railway officers have reached Elphinstone Road station FOB to monitor relief work,” Western Railways said.

The incident comes on the day when Railway Minister Piyush Goyal is in Mumbai. The Minister was scheduled to board a local train at 1:00 pm at Vile Parle station and release the new suburban time-table at a function.

Deekshabhoomi is a sacred monument of Buddhism located where the architect of the Indian Constitution, B. R. Ambedkar, converted to Buddhism with approximately 600,000 followers on Ashok Vijaya Dashami on 14 October 1956. Ambedkar’s conversion to Buddhism is deeply significant for millions of people in India.

It is situated at the heart of Nagpur, Maharashtra (India). Though Nagpur has its latest identity as the Green City or Orange City, a global recognition for the city is primarily sought after Deekshabhoomi.

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, the Chief Architect of Constitution of India embraced Buddhism here on 14th October 1956. This is considered the only revolution where more than six million people followed at once the principles of the Dhamma.

Embracing Buddhism stands important Dhamma Chakra Pravartan Din celebrationfor another reason and that is revival of Buddhism by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. He studied the Dhamma thoroughly and wrote a voluminous book entitled ‘The Buddha and His Dhamma’ that brought out a fundamental change in religious matters. The followers adopted the practices and felt liberated from the clutches of age-old, traditional blind faiths and superstitions.

The day of mass conversion is remembered as the day of celebration by millions and every year, on the occasion of Dhammachakra Pravartan Din, a mega programme is organized to mark the event in history.

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Ambedkar died on 6 December 1956, one and a half months after the Deeksha ceremony. However, this ceremonial conversion continued after his death, converting 15-20 million by March 1959. After his death the ‘Param Pooja Dr. Ambedkar Smarak Samiti’ (Dr. Ambedkar Memorial committee) was organized for the management of Deekshabhoomi. The committee decided to build a stupa at the place as a monument of that ceremony and a mass conversion of people to Buddhism.

INS Viraat to be converted into maritime museum: Maharashtra government

INS Viraat to be converted into maritime museum

INS Viraat to be converted into maritime museum

INS Viraat was a Centaur-class aircraft carrier of the Indian Navy. INS Viraat was the flagship of the Indian Navy before INS Vikramaditya was commissioned in 2013. The last British-built ship serving with the Indian Navy, INS Viraat was the oldest aircraft carrier in service in the world.

The state government will bid for now decommissioned INS Viraat as it plans to convert the aircraft carrier into a maritime museum. Minister for Tourism Jaykumar Rawal, on the eve of World Tourism Day, said that the government plans to berth the INS Viraat at the confluence of the Vasai-Virar creek. He expressed optimism that given the fact that Dr Subhash Bhamre, Union Minister of State for Defence being from Maharashtra the state’s claim will have more weightage.

INS Viraat to be converted into maritime museum

Other states including Goa and Andhra Pradesh too are in the race to acquire the ship. INS Viraat was decommissioned from the Navy earlier this year.

In the past, Maharashtra had made a failed bid to acquire aircraft carrier INS Vikrant with a plan to convert it into a museum after it was decommissioned in 1997.

Rawal said that the state tourism department lending its support to the government’s request to the Customs department to design and develop a QR Code (Quick Response Code) for all the heritage buildings in Mumbai.

“Tourists can scan the QR code (through mobile phone) and hear (audio clip of) information about the building’s history or download it,” Mr Rawal said.

Referring to the theme of this year’s Tourism Day — ‘sustainable tourism’ – he said the government plans to launch e-vehicles in tourist hotspots such as Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani.

There is also a plan to make available bicycles for tourists in sanctuaries, hill stations and religious places, he said.

The Maharashtra government is joining hands with cruise ship company Carnival Cruise to bring cruise liners to the state’s coast, he said.

Mumbai-Cochin-Maldives cruise circuit, which will later cover Sri Lanka too, will be likely inaugurated on November 24, the minister said.

INS Viraat to be converted into maritime museum

The government is aiming to get 950 cruise ships to visit the state coast in the next four years, he said.

The government is also going to start a tourist guide training program at Mumbai, Aurangabad, Sindhudurg and Nagpur, Mr Rawal said.

Indian rupee hits six and a half month low

The Indian rupee quickly covered ground from its early losses today, but was still stuck at its six and a half month low against the dollar following sustained month-end demand for the American currency.

Mysuru Dasara is the official state festival of Karnataka, held every year in the city of Mysore or Mysuru. Celebrated for 10 whole days, the festival begins at Navratri and ends on Vijayadashmi. The city of Mysuru has a long tradition of celebrating the Dasara festival with grandeur and pomp to mark the festival. The Dasara festival in Mysuru completed 400th anniversary in year 2010, while evidence suggests the festivities were observed in Karnataka state by the Vijayanagara Empire kings in the 15th century

Yashwant Sinha launches attack on PM Modi, Arun Jaitley economy

Yashwant Sinha launches attack on PM Modi

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi claims that he has seen poverty from close quarters. His finance minister Arun Jaitley is working over-time to make sure that all Indians also see it from equally close quarters.”

India, which is going through an economic crisis and suffering in the aftermath of demonetisation and Goods and Services Tax implementation has not impressed veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former finance minister Yashwant Sinha, who has come down heavily on prime minister Narendra Modi and union finance minister Arun Jaitley about the way they have handled the economy.

Yashwant Sinha said that, “I shall be failing in my national duty if I did not speak up even now against the mess the finance minister has made of the economy. I am also convinced that what I am going to say reflects the sentiments of a large number of people in the BJP and elsewhere who are not speaking up out of fear.”

Sinha continuing his dissatisfaction with the economy further added that, “We protested against raid raj when we were in opposition. Today it has become the order of the day. Post demonetisation, the income tax department has been charged with the responsibility of investigating lakhs of cases involving the fate of millions of people. The Enforcement Directorate and the CBI also have their plates full. Instilling fear in the minds of the people is the name of the new game.”

In his piece, Sinha reserves the most scathing words for Arun Jaitley, calling him a “lucky finance minister, luckier than any in the post-liberalisation era”. He admits that Jaitley is believed to be the “best and the brightest” in the Narendra Modi government, and that the current finance minister’s “indispensability” was established when he was given four ministries after the BJP’s landslide victory in the 2014 Lok Sabha election.

Jaitley still retains three of those ministries with Defence now being handled by Nirmala Sitharaman, Yashwant Sinha notes. But, not even “a superman like Jaitley” can do justice to the task of multi-tasking between a portfolio that includes the demanding finance ministry, Sinha writes.

But Jaitley has made a “mess” of it, Sinha writes at the beginning of his piece.

He squandered a golden opportunity when he took over the management of the Indian economy, Sinha goes on to essentially say. “Depressed global crude oil prices placed at his (Jaitley) disposal lakhs of crores of rupees,” Sinha says. “But the oil bonanza has been wasted and the legacy problems (stalled projects and bad loans) have not only been allowed to persist, they have become worse.”

A number of Opposition leaders from the Congress, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Left joined Sinha in slamming the Modi government over its performance in economy.

“Yashwant Sinha speaks Truth to Power. Will Power now admit the Truth that economy is sinking?” tweeted another former Finance Minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram.

“Very hard hitting article by Shri Yashwant Sinha ji,” said Delhi Chief Minister and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal on Twitter.

Incidentally, Sinha is not the first from the BJP to raise a red flag over the slump. BJP Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy and former Union Minister Arun Shourie have also attacked the government and warned it of dire consequences if the mess in the economy is not contained.

Shree Videhi Sati Ansuya Mata, Paradsinga Village, Katol, Nagpur

Shree Videhi Sati Ansuya Mata

Shree Videhi Sati Ansuya Mata

When Avadhutas want to leave their physical body they plan accordingly. Mata gave thought to Her Sansthan to purchase a huge piece of land at Paradsinga and construction was started in the year 1992. Mata moved to Dhyan Mandir from village and the home where Mata lived in village is preserved and converted into Mandir by Sansthan. Under her supervision Sansthan has constructed Dhuni, Mandir, and Prasadalaya. After accomplishment of construction, Mata fell ill in June which was merely an excuse to leave her physical body and mentally prepare her devotees. After 6 months, on 10th of January 1997 Shree Videhi Sati Ansuya Mata left her physical form. Right from that moment her immortal body started showering love and affection on devotees.

Shree Videhi Sati Ansuya Mata Story

Shree Videhi Sati Ansuya Mata was born on 5th of May 1926 as the fifth child to mother Aanai and father Ramji at Paradsinga.

Mata lived with Paradsinga villagers,Shree Videhi Sati Ansuya Mata played song and showered enormous love and affection on them for six decades. Mata annihilated all the troubles and karma, fulfilled their desires and stood as the Head of the family for each of them. Their chaste love for her is so immense that they don’t requisite any other God except Mata so; there is no other temple in the village. In Katol and nearby areas, without offering her naivedhya nobody takes their food.

Pujya Sri Sivanesan Swamiji, who familiarized Mata to devotees, spent his whole life in Sai Seva by Baba’s grace. Swamiji channelized and gave guidance to establish Sai Organizations and follow Sai Tatva. The most incredible gift Swamiji gave to devotees is tracing of real Avadhutas without seeing them and moving from Shirdi. Swamiji advised devotees to invite these Avadhutas to inaugurate Dhuni and Sai temples which increased the power and virtue of these temples. Many people are now being benefited from this all across the country.

Shree Videhi Sati Ansuya Mata, the mother incorporated bodiless existence who knows neither spite nor envy, who took birth to uplift the life of devotees in eha loka (materialistic world) and para loka (spiritual world)

Mata’s eternal power attracts people towards her as she is plentiful with divine love and power. Mata kept herself away from worldly issues. Though Mata had no literary knowledge, she had abundant knowledge about all sastras. Pancha bhutas and asta siddhi were subdued to her and it is abstruse to understand her deeds. Mata has gigantic power, she blessed lakhs and millions of people at an instant and there is nothing impossible or difficult for MATA. Mata could read the minds of devotees. Whoever comes to see Mata with some purpose in mind always go home satisfied and there is always peace and gratification to devotees around her. Devotees who come to her with faith never returned disappointed.

Devotees offered her food, clothes and ornaments but she threw away all the offerings which devotees accepted as holy prasada. Mata brought water to waterless well, cured the sick, saved many lives, showed right path to many, and helped the helpless. Her eyes could give proper direction to the needy. Mata preferred the company of domestic animals. She lived anywhere, ate anything, and wore anything or sometimes nothing at all (digambara).

In Datta Parampara the key concepts are “Balonmatta pisacha veshaya” & “Smarana matra santustaya” which are perfectly seen in Mata. Many spiritual yogis, Religious gurus, Scholars, and famous personalities worship Mata not in Maharashtra but all over the world.

Paradsinga is a small village surrounded by nearly 500 tribal areas where there is no feasibility of hospital with all equipments. To make their life better and provide them with this facility Samsthan has taken up this project of constructing a hospital. Samsthan is also planning to create acquaint of health to these tribal people by conducting medical camp and provide them with required medical aids and first aids. This helps them to improve their understanding of importance of health and useful for future generations to be nutritious and healthy.

7th Pay Commission: Hike in Minimum Pay and Fitment Factor

नागपूर

The government has reportedly decided to raise minimum pay, under the 7th Pay Commission or 7th CPC for the central government employees and pensioners. Though no official statement has been in this regard, media reports suggested the government is likely to hike minimum pay over 7th Pay Commission recommendations from January 2018.

Sources confirm that the government will raise the fitment factor to 3 times. This would mean the minimum pay of the Central Government employees will go up to Rs 21,000 from the existing Rs 18,000.

The government may raise fitment factor to 3.00 times from 2.57 times approved by the Cabinet based on the 7th Pay Commission recommendations. If the 2.57 fitment factor is tinkered with fitment factor 3.00, then salary and pension will go up under the 7th Pay Commission. “The fitment factor for basic pay will be raised to 3.00 times from 2.57 times as approved by the Cabinet on January 29,” a Finance Ministry official was quoted as saying by Sen Times. However, the central government employees asked to raise fitment factor to 3.68 times from 2.57 times.

There have been reports that the government is considering to raise minimum pay to Rs 21,000 from the existing Rs 18,000, under the 7th Pay Commission. The National Anomaly Committee, formed in September 2016 to look into pay anomalies arising out of the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission’s recommendations, will hold a meeting by the end of September or the first week of October and may recommend raising minimum pay to Rs 21,000. The central government employees, however, are demanding for hiking minimum pay Rs 18,000 to Rs 26,000.

The 7th Pay Commission had recommended a pay hike of Rs 18,000. However it is not the final word. The government said that it would hike the minimum pay after holding talks with all stake holders. The assurance was made by Arun Jaitley, the Finance Minister of India.

Government launches 16,320 crore Saubhagya scheme for household electrification

Government launches 16,320 crore Saubhagya scheme

Government launches 16,320 crore Saubhagya scheme

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a Rs 16,320-crore scheme to supply electricity to all households by December 2018, providing free connections to the poor and at very low cost to others.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the “Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana” or the Saubhagya scheme aims to improve the environment, public health, education and connectivity with the help of last-mile power connections across India. It will help reduce the use of kerosene lamps in non-electrified households.

The government said this scheme will inject more than Rs 16000 crore in the economy to create assets, which in turn will add more investment in the economy and create jobs.

The total outlay for Saubhagya is Rs 16,320 crore. The outlay for rural households is Rs 14,025 crore, while that for urban households is Rs 2,295 crore. The urban non-poor are excluded from the scheme. Rs 12,320 crore has been earmarked as gross budgetary support for Saubhagya.

The scheme follows the government’s mission to take electricity lines to each and every village in the country, including solar power stations in remote hamlets, which was rigorously implemented by coal and railways minister Piyush Goyal, who was earlier the minister for power, renewable energy, coal and mines.

About 90% of the non-electrified households are in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Jammu & Kashmir and North-Eastern State.

The Union government will provide a 60 per cent grant toward funding the scheme, while the states will provide a 10 percent grant. The remaining amount will be covered by loans. States completing electrification of all households by December 31, 2018, will get an incentive to convert 50 percent of the loan into a grant.

Jio Phone Delivery Date Status, Next Sale, and Other Things You Need to Know

Jio Phone Delivery Date Status, Next Sale, and Other Things You Need to Know

Jio Phone Delivery Date Status, Next Sale, and Other Things You Need to Know – Jio Phone deliveries have commenced, with Reliance Jio confirming that all 6 million customers who pre-booked the handset will get the handset by Diwali. This will be good news for the consumers based in Tier-1, 2, and 3 cities as well as rural areas, since it means they won’t have to wait too long for the Jio Phone delivery date. Though Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani had earlier said the company aims to delivery 5 million units a week, it is unlikely to happen at least till the logistics processes are cemented. On the other hand, if you were unable to book Jio Phone in August, you might just have to wait a little longer. Here’s what you need to know about the Jio Phone booking process, delivery dates, price, and more

How to book Jio Phone?
To book Jio Phone you have three options – the Jio.com website, the MyJio app, and authorised offline Jio retailers. All you need to do make the Jio Phone booking is to give your phone number and the pincode delivery address, and pay a sum of Rs. 500. Once the booking has been made, you will receive a voucher number that you can refer to while picking up the handset. When the Jio Phone you booked is up for delivery, you will receive an SMS mentioning the store from which it can be picked up. Even the units booked online will have to be picked up offline. For now, the bookings are closed.

Can I book the Jio Phone for a friend?
Yes, you can book multiple Jio Phone units, for your friends and family. All you need is their respective phone numbers and delivery pincodes. You will have to make a Rs. 500 payment for each unit you pre-order at the time of booking itself.

How to check Jio Phone booking status?
Jio Phone Delivery Date Status : To check Jio Phone booking status, you have two options – the MyJio app, and an IVR number. If you want to check Jio Phone booking status online, open MyJio app and tap on the Manage Booking option. After providing your registered phone number and OTP, you will see the My Vouchers page on the screen. At the moment the Status field just says Created, but as the Jio Phone delivery date for your unit draws near, it should show the date and details of the store from which the phone can be picked up. Alternatively, you can call 18008908900 via the number from which you booked the handset to check Jio Phone Delivery Date Status. This is an IVR number, and you just need to follow the instructions.

When is Jio Phone delivery date?
Jio Phone Delivery Date Status Citing channel partners, a new report says the Jio Phone deliveries have started, which is in line reportage on the shipping commencing around Navratri. The deliveries will be completed over the next 15 days, the report says, adding that users in rural areas and smaller cities will get the device before those in urban areas. On Twitter, the company has said the handset will be delivered to all customers by Diwali. Each user will receive the delivery schedule and details of the offline store their unit can be picked up from via SMS.

When will Jio Phone bookings start again?
Jio Phone bookings were suspended early on August 26 after “millions” booked the handset, with no indication of when the booking will start again. However, if you want to remain updated regarding the next time Jio Phone pre-booking opens, you can head to the official website and register your interest. With this, you will be notified about the next time the handset goes on sale via SMS and email.

When do I make the full payment?
The refundable security amount for Jio Phone is Rs. 1,500, of which Rs. 500 is, as mentioned above, paid at the time of booking. The remaining Rs. 1,000 has to be paid when you pick up the handset from the offline store.

How many units can I book?
On the MyJio app and Jio.com website, there seems to be no cap on how many units of the handset can be booked (we went up to 30 units). Multiple units can be booked against the same number and pincode as well, and you just need to make the Rs. 500 partial deposit per unit at the time of booking.

Can I transfer my booking to someone else?
After ordering the Jio 4G phone, if you decide against buying it, you can transfer the booking to someone else using the Transfer option in the MyJio app, under Manage Bookings. After entering your number and OTP, you will see an overview of your Jio Phone bookings, with information such as orders placed and number of units for each order. Now, tap on the Transfer button above the Jio Phone banner, and the screen will switch to a new interface with the option to reassign your booking to someone else. All you will have to do is to provide the new user’s phone number, the new delivery pincode, and number of units to be transferred (in case you booked more than one). The recipient will instantaneously receive a SMS from Jio mentioning their new booking.

How much data will I get with the phone?
The phone comes with two primary recharge packs, priced at Rs. 153 and Rs. 309. The Rs. 153 Jio Phone pack provides 500MB data at 4G speeds, and the speed goes down to 128kbps after the high-speed data cap is exhausted. You will also get 300 free SMSs, access to compatible Jio apps, such as JioTV, JioCinema, JioXpressNews, and JioMusic. Voice calls are free on the Jio network as well.
With the Rs. 309 Jio Phone recharge pack, you will get the same benefits as the Rs. 153 pack, but 1GB of data per day. If you plan to use the Jio Phone-TV Cable, called the JioMediaCable, that lets you mirror content playing on the phone directly on the big screen then you must buy the Rs. 309 recharge pack. This recharge pack will become available for purchase only when the cable hits the market. There are also two sachet packs of Rs. 24 and Rs. 54, with validities of 2 days and 7 days, respectively.

Is the Jio Phone-TV Cable free? Where and when can I buy it?
The JioMediaCable will not be available free, though it is not yet clear how much it will cost. Similarly, there is no clarity at the moment regarding its launch date. However, it is confirmed that the accessory will be available to purchase both online and offline for Jio Phone buyers.

Which apps will work on Jio Phone?
Jio says apart from its own apps, users will get popular instant messaging and social networking apps on the handset. However, WhatsApp – inarguably the most popular messaging app in India – is not present on the KAI OS-based platform at the moment, though it may be added later on. We did catch a glimpse of Facebook on the phone at the launch event, along with PM Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat app. With a VGA camera in front, you can expect video calling apps – JioVideoCall at least – to work on the handset too. Other Jio apps that will be preloaded on the phone are JioShare, JioGames, and a Web browser.

If we are talking about the phone’s software, the device’s HelloJio voice recognition system that supports 22 Indian languages needs to be mentioned as well. According to the demo at the launch event, the voice recognition system will allow users to control certain functions on the phone by saying commands aloud in their vernacular languages. The website says it can make calls, send SMSs, launch the browser and camera apps, and open JioTV, JioCinema, JioMusic etc.

Which languages are supported on the Jio Phone?
The Jio Phone supports 22 Indian languages that should cover most of the regional languages in the country. The full list of languages supported by the Jio Phone (in alphabetical order) is Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Santhali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

What are the key Jio Phone features and specifications?
Jio Phone has a 2.4-inch display with 320×240 pixel resolution, dual-core 1.2GHz Spreadtrum SPRD 9820A/QC9805 processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal with expansion support up to 128GB, 2-megapixel rear camera, VGA front camera, 2000mAh battery with talk time of 12 hours, NFC for digital payments (software support to be added later), Bluetooth 4.1, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, and USB 2.0 support.

You will get a flashlight, alphanumeric keypad with 4-way navigation button in the middle, FM radio, and headphone jack on the phone. It will also have Microsoft Exchange email support, and allow you to import contacts synced with your Google account. The company says some of these features will be released later via software updates.

India vs Australia 2017, 3rd ODI at Indore, India win by 5 wickets

India vs Australia 2017

India vs Australia 2017

India’s terrific chase down of a stiff target in the Indore ODI is a reason to rejoice. It confirms that the team is a step closer to forging into a formidable one-day unit.

The successful pursuit revealed that the team has the ability to not only defend a target, but also chase it down and this presents the captain with more options.

All-rounder Hardik Pandya rose to the occasion yet again with a fluent 78-run knock as India registered a comfortable five-wicket win over Australia in the third ODI to grab the number one spot, on Sunday.

Chasing 294 for a win, India overhauled the target with 13 balls to spare in front of a packed Holkar stadium to take a series-clinching 3-0 lead. India chased down the 294-run target in 47.5 overs

It’s the first time in a bilateral ODI series that India have secured three straight wins over Australia. This is also India’s three consecutive home series win against Australia, having won in 2010 and 2013. India dislodged South Africa to top the ICC ODI rankings with 120 points.
