Nagpur: The draw of reserve seats for women Corporators for the upcoming Nagpur Municipal (NMC) election has been announced. The lottery to determine seats that would be allotted to women representatives was held at Kavi Suresh Bhat Auditorium in Nagpur on Tuesday. The wards reserved for women belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and general categories were declared.
This time, the NMC will have a three-member ward system. In the House of 156 Corporators, women will account for 78 elected members (SC 16, ST 6 and Open 56). So, the draw of lots was held for these seats.
Ward No.2A, Ward No. 10C, Ward No. 43A, Ward No. 13A, Ward No. 20A, Ward No. 30A, Ward No. 27A, Ward No.39, Ward No. 16A, Ward No. 37A, Ward No. 45A, Ward No. 1A, Ward No. 14A, Ward No. 38A, Ward No. 15A and Ward No. 52A.
Reserved seats for Scheduled Tribes women candidates. Six seats have been drawn in this category.
Ward No. 24A, Ward No. 11A, Ward No. 37B, Ward No. 12B, Ward No. 4B, and Ward No. 51B.
Seats for General category women candidates: Ward No. 31B, Ward No. 22B, Ward No. 23B, Ward No. 40B, Ward No. 32B, Ward No. 49B, Ward No. 29B, Ward No. 35B, Ward No. 17B, Ward No. 17C, Ward No 48B, Ward No. 6B, and Ward No.2 B.
