New Healthcare Milestone: Shalinitai Meghe Hospital Now ESIS-Approved for Industrial Workers Enhancing Healthcare Access for Industrial Workers

Date:

In a significant stride towards improving healthcare access for industrial workers, Shalinitai Meghe Hospital & Research Centre, affiliated with Datta Meghe Medical College in Wanadongri, Nagpur, has been empanelled with the Employees’ State Insurance Scheme (ESIS). This 895-bed multi-super speciality hospital is now poised to provide substantial health benefits to factory workers and their families in the Nagpur region, especially those in the Hingna Industrial Area.

The empanelment enables workers covered under ESIS to access a comprehensive range of medical services at Shalinitai Meghe Hospital. These services include outpatient consultations, inpatient care, specialized treatments, surgeries, maternity care, and emergency services. The inclusion of this hospital in the ESIS network is expected to significantly enhance healthcare accessibility and quality for thousands of workers and their dependents.

Dr. Vasant Gawande, Chief Medical Superintendent of SMHRC, highlighted that one of the primary advantages of this empanelment is the alleviation of financial stress associated with medical expenses. ESIS beneficiaries will receive medical services either free of charge or at significantly subsidized rates, depending on the treatment and service available as per ESIS rules. This is particularly crucial for factory workers in the region, who often face financial constraints. The reduced cost of medical care will help mitigate their economic burden and ensure they receive timely and appropriate medical attention.

Shalinitai Meghe Hospital is renowned for providing high-quality, affordable medical care. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, advanced medical technology, and a team of highly qualified and experienced healthcare professionals, the hospital is well-prepared to meet the healthcare needs of ESIS beneficiaries.

The hospital management, led by Shri Sagar Meghe, has expressed their commitment to supporting the health and well-being of the industrial workforce, underscoring the importance of accessible healthcare for economic and social stability, a vision championed by Shri Dattaji Meghe, Founder Chancellor of DMIHER University.

Dr. Anup Marar, Director of DMIHER Off Campus & CEO (Healthcare) of Meghe Group of Institutions, stated, “We are delighted to be empanelled with ESIS and extend our medical services to the hardworking factory workers of the Hingna Industrial Area. Our hospital is dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare, and this partnership with ESIS will enable us to serve the community better. We look forward to contributing to the health and well-being of the workers and their families.” He expressed gratitude to Hon. Shri Sameer Meghe, MLA, and all ESIS authorities for expediting this affiliation.

Mr. Ashwin Radke, OSD (Special Projects) – SMHRC, who played a key role in securing this empanelment along with CA Amit Prajapat, added that workers and their families can now visit Shalinitai Meghe Hospital & Research Centre in Wanadongri to avail themselves of the ESIS benefits.

Shri Ajay Thakre, MSW Incharge at SMHRC, mentioned that the hospital has established a dedicated ESIS helpdesk under the supervision of Dr. Sudhir Singh, SMHRC Assistant Medical Superintendent, to assist ESIS beneficiaries with necessary information and procedures. Workers are encouraged to bring their ESIS cards and other relevant documents when seeking medical care.
