Nelson Hospital to Start Covid Care Centre at the Hotel Pride Nagpur

Nagpur: Today when entire country is battling the deadly second wave of Corona Virus with lakhs of positive patients being reported daily & thousands of people losing their lives, our own city is amongst the worst hit cities in the country. The situation has put medical facilities under deep stress, with respect to availability of hospital beds, Oxygen supply or medicines.

Amidst all this chaos, Nelson Hospital has decided to start a Covid Care Centre from 1st of May, at Hotel Pride, Wardha Road, to address the shortage of beds in our city & treat patients with mild & moderate symptoms.

The approval for the Covid Care Centre has come under the noble initiative of Nagpur Municipal Corporation & District Collector’s Office. This Centre will provide 97 rooms with total 127 beds.

As per the Doctors, the severity or mortality rate can be controlled if the disease is diagnosed & treated in the early stages. This Centre will serve patients with mild & moderate symptoms having HRCT score less than 10 & SPO2 (Oxygen Saturation) more than 90.

The other facilities at this Centre will be:

  • Availability of Doctors Round the clock
  • Dedicated Cardiac Ambulance
  • Oxygen Concentrators
  • Essential Medicines
  • Planned diet by Nutritionist
  • Physiotherapy & patient counselling

This Centre will be inaugurated on 1st of May, at 12:00 noon through a virtual ceremony at the hands of Shri Nitinji Gadkari – Hon’ble Cabinet Minister, Road Transport & Highways, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Government of India as Chief Guest and Shri Devendraji Fadnavis – Hon’ble Leader of Opposition, Maharashtra State as Guest of Honour.

The Inauguration will be followed by expert talk from Team Luke Coutinho (Celebrity Health Guru in India) on the topic “Health & Wellness during Covid Times”. The Inauguration will be broadcast live on the Facebook page of Nelson Mother & Child Care Hospital.
