MSRTC increases bus fares by 10 percent from Oct 21 to 31

Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has increased bus fares temporarily by 10 per cent from midnight of October 21 to October 31 in view of festive season and crowd.

Passengers travelling in ordinary (Parivartan), semi-luxury (Hirkani), Shivshahi (seating and sleeper) will have to pay the increased fares while it is not applicable to Shivneri and Ashwamedh bus services.

MSRTC has informed that the passengers having already booked buses for this period will have to pay difference between the reservation ticket and new ticket to conductors. The increase is also not applicable to the monthly/quarterly  passes to ‘aawdel tethe pravaas’ passengers and students.

The rise in fares has been made temporarily as per the right delegated by State Transport Authority allowing MSRTC to increase fares upto 30 per cent during rush period in order to earn more revenue.
