‘High quality roads at low cost is our mission’ : Nitin Gadkari

Nagpur : “Building high quality roads at low cost with the help of innovative steps is the mission for the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways,” said Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways here on Thursday as he inaugurated the technical exhibition of 79th annual conference of Indian Road Congress (IRC) at Divisional Sports Complex, Mankapur.

Gadkari appealed to researchers and experts to contribute for quality construction with minimal expenses to tide over the challenge of budget limitation.

“Budget limitation is a big challenge before all development works. Researchers and experts should come forward and contribute in this area,” said Gadkari.

Nirmal Kumar, Secretary General, IRC; Chandrashekhar Joshi, Secretary (Road), PWD; Ulhas Debadwar, Chief Engineer, PWD, and Chairman, Local Organising Committee and Ramesh Hotwani, Secretary, Local Organising Committee were present during inauguration.

Talking about the technical exhibition, Gadkari said, “It is the platform where different companies can get chance to display their modern equipment and technologies for road construction and safety.”
