Heavy rainfall likely in Vidarbha from 24th to 26th

Maharashtra Government, on Tuesday, issued a warning that various parts of Vidarbha region were likely to receive heavy rainfall between January 24 and January 26. Agriculture Department, taking cognisance of the warning, advised the farmers to take proper care of their agricultural produce.

In Vidarbha also, particularly the districts of Nagpur, Wardha, Bhandara, Gondia, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Yavatmal, and Amravati are more likely to receive thundershowers. “The farmers in these parts should take into account the weather warning, and cover their agricultural produce at safe place. If they have brought agricultural produce to Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee for sale, they should keep it well covered,” stated the advisory issued by Agriculture Department.

In some areas of Vidarbha, the advisory stated, the possibility of hailstorm also cannot be ruled out. Owing to cloudy sky, the maximum temperature will come down and remain below the average till January 29. Increased humidity may lead to foggy weather from January 25 to January 27. Parts of Marathwada region, and Nanded district in particular are likely to receive light showers during this period.
