As the political stage in Maharashtra heats up ahead of the upcoming state assembly elections, a slew of initiatives and schemes have been launched by the BJP-led MahaYuti government in a bid to retain power. On August 17, 2024, Chief Minister, along with Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis, formally launched the “Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana” (MMLBY), a scheme the three parties are heavily relying on to secure victory.
According to sources, the MMLBY is a strategic move by the BJP and Devendra Fadnavis. Sources suggest that numerous meetings between the RSS and Fadnavis have been held, with Fadnavis playing a crucial role in driving the scheme’s implementation in Maharashtra and aiming to replicate the success seen in Madhya Pradesh in the upcoming assembly elections.
Fadnavis, credited as the mastermind behind the scheme’s implementation in Maharashtra, remarked during the launch event, “This government intends to help our sisters. Before this event started, the government deposited the money into the banks of 1.3 crore sisters. Those whose forms are verified in September will get their amount from July.”
