Expo on items made by SHGs begins at SCZCC

An exhibition on articles/items prepared by Self-Help Groups has begun at South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC) in Civil Lines from Tuesday. Mohan Mate, MLA, inaugurated the expo organised on behalf of National Millennium Multiple Cultural Hub, Nagpur, in cooperation with SCZCC to mark Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsava.

Dress material, Banarasi sarees, Chanderi sarees, Punjabi footwear, Terracotta arts, Kachh works, bandhani work, artificial flowers, woollen/silk mats, bangles, handmade chocolates, kitchen items, artificial jewellery, pooja clothes, raakhis, coffee powder etc have been kept for sale.

An attempt has also been made to create awareness about ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. The objectives of the expo are to make empowerment of women and to make up losses suffered by them during coronavirus pandemic. The exhibition will remain open daily from 11 am to 9 pm till August 17.
