Nagpur : Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday launched Atal Aahar Yojana in the Nagpur.
Under the Atal Aahar Yojana, construction workers will be provided nutritious food at their workplace for just Rs 5. The scheme will transform the lives of these labourers, said Mr Fadnavis.
“More than 10 lakh workers in the state have registered their name with the ‘Maharashtra building and construction workers Welfare board’ The government is not going to take a sigh of relief here but it will be taking all out efforts to ensure that the information of all the schemes that are beneficial for the labors are being taken to them. Now they will be provided healthy food at nominal charges of rupees five at their working place under the Atal Aahar Yojana. This scheme is bringing a drastic change in the lives of the workers.” said Chief Minister Mr Devendra Fadnavis.
He was speaking at the function organized by the ‘Building and other construction workers’ welfare board’ at Kasturchand park. Labor welfare Minister Sambhaji Patil Nilangekar, guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, animal husbandry and dairy development Minister Mahadev Jankar, MP Kupal Tumane, MP Dr Vikas Mahatme, mayor Mrs Nanda Jichkar, president of small and medium Industries Sandeep Joshi, president of building and construction workers board Omprakash Yadav, Labor Commissioner Rajiv Jadav, secretary of building and construction workers board Srirangam, additional Labor Commissioner Vijay Panbude, were present on the occasion.
The chief minister honored the winning institutions under the Swachh Bharat program conducted by Nehru Yuva Kendra. The Niswarth foundation and Yogeshwar Sanstha distributed the kits to the beneficiaries. Labor Commissioner Rajeev Jadhav made the introductory speech whereas Vijayakanth Panbude proposed the vote of thanks.
