Nagpur : ‘Khasdar Sanskrutik Mahotsav’, a brain child of Union Minister for Road Transport, Shipping and Water Resources Nitin Gadkari, will be held from November 30 to December 18.
The festival was started last year and received overwhelming response from the city. The festival will be inaugurated at the hands of film stars Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff at 6 pm on November 30, at Ishwar Deshmukh College of Physical Education ground, Krida Chowk, Hanuman Nagar, here.
MLC and President of the Organising Committee Anil Sole informed that besides Gadkari, Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule and Mayor Nanda Jichkar will be the guests of honour for the inaugural function. This will be followed by a programme of Hindi songs ‘Yadon Ka Chala Karwan’, conceptualised by Prasad Mahadkar. Shrikant Narayan, Sampada Goswami, Alok Katdhare, Sonali Karnik, Madan Shukla, RJ Gaurav will be the participants. Deva Bagera is the music organiser.
A theme song for the festival sung by Swapnil Bandodkar and music composed by Moreshwar Nistane, was released on the occasion. About 900 artists from Nagpur have been given opportunity to perform on the stage.
The other programmes which will be held are – December 1 – ‘Babujichi Gani’ by Shridhar Fadke at 6 pm. December 2 – ‘Chala Hawa Yeu Dya’ of Zee Marathi team. December 7 – Mega Play ‘Tathagat’, December 8 – Mega play ‘Rashtrapurush Atal’; December 9 – ‘Uttar Bharat Ki Sugandh’ by MP Manoj Tiwari; December 10 – Hindi play ‘Chanakya’ by Manoj Joshi; December 11 – film ‘Yugpurush Vivekanand’ by Ramkrishna Math, Pune; December 12 – Play ‘Natsamrat’ with main roles by Mohan Joshi and Rohini Hattangadi, directed by Rishikesh Joshi; December 14 – Musical fusion by Rakesh Chaurasia and Drums by Shivmani; December 15 – Ballet ‘Ganga – Rashtra Ki Vichardhara’, which has aerial acrobatics.’ December 16 – Dance drama ‘Durga’ by MP and film star Hema Malini. December 17 – mega play ‘Shirdi Ke Saibaba’. December 18 – ‘Naad Anahad’ a musical programme.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will be the chief guest for the concluding function on December 18.
Sole stated that six screens will be installed, four inside the venue and two outside, if required.
