All set for Shriram Janmotsav Shobhayatra in West Nagpur

Nagpur : Shriram Janmotsav Shobhayatra Samiti of Paschim Nagpur Nagrik Sangh (PNNS) is all set to organise 46th Shriram Janmotsav Shobhayatra 2019 from Shriram Mandir, Ram Nagar on April 13 at 5 pm. South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC) is the main sponsor for this year’s Shobhayatra. Addressing a press conference on Friday at Shriram Mandir, Pranay Tidke, convenor of Shobhayatra said, the procession will start after Pujan of palanquin being performed by Tamil Nadu Governor, Banwarilal Purohit at Shri Ram Mandir. The palanquin will consist of Shriram Paduka. Maharashtra Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis; Union Minister, Nitin Gadkari; Nagpur district Guardian Minister, Chandrashekhar Bawankule; Mayor Nanda Jichkar; former MP Ajay Sancheti; MLA Sudhakar Deshmukh; MLC Anil Sole will also grace the occasion. President of organising committee and NIT Trustee, Bhushan Shingane; reception committee president, Basantlal Shaw; working President, Atul Goyal and convenor Pranay Tidke will start the procession.

The first procession was held in 1973 from Shri Ram Mandir. This is the 46th year of procession in West Nagpur. Various religious programmes were conducted during the period from Gudhi Padwa to Ram Navami each year, he added. Tidke also stated, the main attraction of Shobhayatra this year is the folk dance items being presented by artists from four States on seven different places on the route of procession. The folk dance event is being sponsored by South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC). PNNS President, Ravi Waghmare; Secretary Rajiv Kalele; Treasurer Vinod Joshi; Vice-Presidents Ashok Patrikar and Milind Vazalwar; Joint Secretary Ajay Dabir; Joint Treasurer Arun Kare; Trustees, Prabhakar Deshpande, Jayant Apte, Deepak Khirwadkar, Suresh Unhare, Shridhar Patrikar, Mukund Mahajan, Vrushali Dhiledar and others were also present during the press conference.

Route of Shobhayatra: The Shobhayatra will start from Shriram Mandir Ram Nagar. It will pass through Baji Prabhu Square, Laxmi Bhuvan Square, Coffee House Square, residence of Kalele, Zenda Chowk, Laxminarayan Mandir Square, Shankar Nagar Square, Bajaj Nagar Chowk, Laxmi Nagar Square, Abhyankar Square, VNIT Gate Square, LAD College Square, late Pushpalata Tidke Square, Hill Road, Baji Prabhu Square and will conclude at Shriram Mandir. Main Attractions: 35 attractive floats sponsored by different educational, social and cultural organisations will participate in the same. Bhushan Shingane, Shobhayatra Samiti President has sponsored four floats like Shriram Darbar, three idols; Suvarna Mrig Shikar three idols; Shri Ganpati and Rameshwar Pujan. Goyal Ganga Group will present three floats like Hanuman tearing chest, float spreading message of environmental protection and Adasa Ganpati.

Paschim Nagpur Nagrik Sangh will sponsor four floats including Maa Durga Darshan, Shurpanakha Laxman three idols, Char Ved Murti and Shri Nrusimha Awatar. Ekta Manch will present two floats like Shrikrishna and elephant; Bhajan group. Late Pushpalata Tidke Smruti Manch will sponsor a float of Durgadevi. Other attractions include, Babulgaon Sandal, Taaj Darbar Band Adivasi dance, canon spreading Gulal and flowers; Hindu Janjagruti’s Bhaldar and Chopdar; awareness on organ donation by Mohan foundation, Punjabi Dhol, Dhol Tasha, Buggi etc. Sanskar Bharati will draw big rangolis on entire route.
